PJM2 + Solo Music Timeline Theory pt2
So I already did my big desperate timeline prediction post, but now that we got RPWP and another possible PJM2 hint with MMM, I do have some updated thoughts. So here’s a pt2.
Tumblr media
I’m going to stick with my prediction that PJM2 could be a summer album, and if so I think that a July release would make a lot of sense considering the album release pattern that has sort of emerged (although one time is definitely not enough to establish a pattern lol).
Basically there was exactly two months between the release of HOTS (march 29th) and RPWP (may 24th), and exactly one month between HOTS release and RPWP preorders. That means if we keep the same pattern the next album will come out at the end of July with preorders opening end of June.
This would actually be perfect considering the first half of June is going to be dedicated to Jin’s return and FESTA. What better way to cap off FESTA celebrations than an album announcement? And this schedule is the perfect way to keep content flowing without gaps or too much overlap.
We know for FESTA content we’re getting Jin’s return, RPWP MV #4 (iirc), and my guess would be possibly Jikook show teaser/announcement, maybe a group single from the vault like Take Two? There might be some more subunit variety content like MMM too. I’m sure they have some stuff planned. Plus Jin returning will be huge.
Also this album release order would follow another pattern (that might be unintentional) but basically it would be following their debut album release order: JITB -> Indigo -> FACE, HOTS -> RPWP -> PJM2
If JK releases a single after PJM2 it would also somewhat follow this pattern considering Seven came after FACE, and I don’t think Yoongi is going to be dropping music if he’s really keeping an extra low profile because of alternative enlistment. Although Fri(end)s would be the outlier here, so maybe I’m overthinking this part lol.
I still think the Jikook show could come out during the summer and be used to promote both of Jikook’s music releases. JK also hinted that he had something big in the summer so I’m still assuming it’s going to be a single (unless he’s the one with an album).
I somehow forgot about JKs documentary when I made my last post. I can’t remember if there was any actual information about when it would be released? But if we don’t have any idea, I could see September working really well if they use his birthday month like Jimin did for the Production Diary.
If JK has a single in August it would flow perfectly into Golden documentary and bonus documentary content in September. If he’s the one to release music in July I could also see it being released for Seven anniversary too.
But there’s definitely enough time for Jikook to both release music between June - August if one of them is releasing a single and the other an album, although that would be crazy considering Jikook are probably going to have the most intense releases as far as charting goes. I could see either of them releasing in September/October too. I won’t survive if we have to wait until 2025 for PJM2 so I’m not going to entertain that train of thought just yet, and JK said summer for himself so.
I guess we’ll have to wait and see. I really have no idea! This is definitely probably way too much speculation based on absolutely nothing substantial 😭 but this is how I keep myself sane while the fandom implodes.
But yeah, my current prediction timeline is
First half of June - Jin return, FESTA content, RPWP MV, maybe Jikook show teaser 2nd half of June - PJM2 announcement and preorders 1st half of July - possible PJM2 prerelease and content, maybe Jikook show starts 2nd half of July - PJM2, MMM mini edition August - JK releases a single or EP + Jikook show could start if it hasn’t yet September - possible JK documentary with extra content and rollout similar to Jimin’s Production Diary, or once again Jikook show if it hasn't started yet October - Hobi returns, maybe Jin album announcement? (if we were following previous pattern it would be an album at the end of the month, but that's probably way too soon)
And then obviously the rest of the year will be mostly Jin album, maybe also a single, and various promotions and activities + not sure how soon Hobi will start releasing content but he did say he had plans post-enlistment so we’ll definitely see something. And I do think a mini tour in 2025 seems crazy but possible. That would absolutely fill up the beginning of the year with something big and exciting to tide ARMYs over until June.
I can’t remember if Namjoon or Taehyung mentioned documentaries for their albums? But that could happen too, and I’m sure that the enlisted members have more surprises outside of their major music releases considering MMM came out of nowhere, so maybe some mini subunit variety content, or some more singles and collabs.
Still I hope this timeline is right. I don’t think I could handle a much longer wait for PJM2 or the travel show tbh 😭

Hi again, I am the the anon who sent this, thank you for the detailed answer :)
Of course each of them have had their own struggles and pov. I focused on Tae because he has always been singled out by the company for causing "trouble"… I am also aware that being a team needs compromises and all the members said that they have sacrificed a lot.
The issue about Tae is, he had extra gaslighting from his boss and a certain part of fandom (that apparently are manipulated by the company) In any/many working environment, there is that one person whom bosses singe out and try to assimilate to give a message for the rest. Like saying "see, if you be like this, I will be on your back too so behave" We all either be this person or a witness of that mobbing at work. Tae was/is that black sheep.
JK also definitely had his fair share of the burdens and struggles for sure, I just think those were a different set of pressures and troubles imo. As the golden maknae and the center of the bts, he had to be perfect, the most compliant and most hardworking etc etc… the most/best of everything… This just my inkling that he tried to be that ideal idol until around 2020. There were too much expectations and pressure on him and BSH’s manipulation on JK was his hyungs (do it for them, be better for them, you are nothing without them, you shouldn’t let them down etc etc) it is not coincidence what is written in those documents, hitting him with being not successful as solo…
He also seemed to get over these manipulations too. His small speech in 2022 festa was very revealing imo. His love and loyalty to his hyungs is intact but he is also aware of his potential and doesn’t shy away to say/show it. His hyungs are happy for him and BSH (probably) hates it.
It is not a coincidence that these two are subjectively have the biggest potentials, the closest in real life, and act together, they are also the ones that hybe aimed the most.
Anyway, summer of 2025 and afterwards will be interesting for sure… I hope they all can continue as bts and solo on their own terms.
Hi anon!
Thanks for returning! I think we agree on a lot.
I think the most cruel things the company have done to Tae is constantly using his insecurities as entertainment. They perpetuated his ‘weirdness’ instead of turning it into his biggest weapon.
There have constantly been business decisions made that the company would have known how it would play out in fandom. Basically as soon as Jikook became their appointed ship (due to Taekook being a risk) a huge part of fandom was bound to turn on Tae (and honestly, this goes for Jm too). Even outside shipping spaces this is something that can be felt. With the way they monitor fandom, there is no way they wouldn’t have been aware of how this would go. And by simultaneously pushing Jkk and hiding Tkk.. to this day.. they allowed a huge part of fandom to keep hating on Tae. There’s many ways in which they could have gone against that, but their choices have consistently been to perpetuate the idea that Jkk is closer than Tkk and that Tae and Jk became distant. By letting him do Taennie, it was once again easy to predict that he would mostly get hate for this. AYS was basically just a continuation of subtle ways to make Tae seem like he doesn’t completely belong.
I think both Tae and Jk have learned how to deal with their situation. I think they know what it is the company does (manipulate and use them) and I think they know that it’s shit. I found Jk’s words about NewJeans very telling. He knows the music industry is terrible. He knows they themselves have been put in terrible situations (and probably still were) by the company and I think knowing that gives them strength and power also.

Who... are... you..?
🎤 You're not the one 🎤 I fell in love with, baby 🎻🎻. OK, sorry, got carried away there... Thanks @whysojiminimnida for tagging me in a game where we voluntarily reveal information that could allow terrible people to identify us!
name: Can't go there, but my parents used to call me KJ, my friends call me K, and I'm quite fond of my handle.
sign: Taurus. I'm mostly placid but can be tormented into a rage.
youtube
fav band/artist: BTS is in a class of experience all of its own. But on the normal fan level, I'm eclectic: Joni Mitchell, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Nina Simone, David Bowie, Billie Eilish, Beastie Boys, Björk, Beatles, Brahms. Lots of Bs, apparently.
last movie: House of Gucci, watched it on the plane yesterday. (spoiler alert) How did I know already that Tom Ford became Gucci's designer but not that Patrizia Gucci murdered her husband??? Priorities.
last show: Umbrella Academy and Stranger Things (with my family). Heart Stopper and Our Beloved Summer (with my daughter). I rarely get to watch things for myself (although I should count BTS content there lmao - currently making my way through BV3).
when you created this blog: September 2021. I was desperate for adult conversation about JKK.
what you post: mostly reblogs of BTS beauty / thirst posts so I can find them later, a few posts where I notice something or have a thought that I haven't seen expressed in my Tumblr circle. I made 2 gifs but it’s hard to make everything work and I don’t have the right software :(
other blogs: Nope! I'm totally new to this whole thing.
followers: 49, which is 49 more than I expected. I only created the account so that I could send asks.
do you get asks: option not switched on. I've been doing my job 18 years and I still don't feel like an expert. No way I can take on that role after 16 months in the fandom.
average hrs of sleep: 4-6 hours. It's never enough. F*cking hormones.
instruments: Violin (passable), piano (mediocre), guitar (basic). Voice!
what i’m wearing: strappy summer frock. Half my wardrobe is summer dresses even though winter is ~8 months long where I live. They are so cute and easy to buy and I am possibly in denial. Mismatching underwear with a molded wire-free bra because BEST DISCOVERY of the pandemic, I am never going back.
dream job: I'm doing it! Professor - I get to hang out with smart people all day and talk about interesting things.
youtube
Perhaps novelist as an alternative? If writer's block was not a thing.
dream trip: South Korea, Ecuador, Greece. I love travelling and have done a fair bit of it but in my more apocalyptic moments I know we should probably drastically reduce air travel emissions and concentrate on dream tripping closer to home. Astral travel instead?
favorite songs: Favourites are hard. It's so mood dependent. In BTS, those that pull me in the most: Black Swan, Louder Than Bombs, What Am I to You, Pied Piper, Ddaeng, House of Cards, anything by Agust D. In non BTS, Massive Attack - Teardrop, Beatles - I Want You (She's So Heavy), Nick Cave - Red Right Hand, Joni Mitchell - Case of You, Billie Eilish - When the Party's Over, Your Power, No Time to Die, Lovely... I seem to be on a Billie trip atm).
Tagging @rantingravingliving @ffjj5 @jmdbjk @chikooritajjk @spankpjm b/c I'm curious!

something that confuses me is that when any ship like tkk for ex as per their fd narratives they bring up the stage moments of them to say they're real or something like that but i saw jkkrs say hey that is fanservice or they're cute and it doesn't count for real by bringing up taejin moments but when they want to talk on jkk they do show the same stage moments of them too but in different way ex last year la concert where jk initiated then they went on to say he kept his hand on heart (i still think it's for some army) anyway, if you say other ship as fs/doesn't count then y to bring jkk that they're together or so in same way? P.S im not against jkk or tkk or any other but it sometimes feels like hypocrisy side of jkkrs and correct me if im wrong.
Yeah, in my opinion, it is hypocrisy like you said. But it is NOT hypocrisy from the side of jikookers only. As if other shippers haven't been calling jikook fanservice and fake for years. Plus the jikookers who use the fanservice card in a hateful manner are very, very few.
I have the same issue with how a lot of people started talking about the members interactions on instagram as "work" as if almost 99% of the jikook content we have ever watched didn't happen while they were in the company, on stage, in a recording studio, in a dance practice room: literally workplaces. If the members interacting openly on a public platform is "work", then so was every interaction Jimin and Jungkook ever had on social media on before. Just because instagram is a new thing they're using, it's not different from the others. It definitely has more reach than twitter or weverse in a marketing context, but that's not the point. As far as BTS dynamics go, it was never different than the members interacting on weverse or twitter. So for two months since they opened those accounts it was "work", and then Jimin got sick and JK randomly posted a break up song and suddenly IG was no longer for work and it was JK's personal diary or something and his way of telling everyone he was hurting for Jimin.
While on stage, they all do things that could be considered fanservice, and that goes from ships to literally hip thrusts. There's nothing wrong with that. Their relationships are still real. They're adults and they don't do things they don't want to do or are uncomfortable with (mostly). Just because a hug happens while we can see it, it doesn't mean it's a performance and they're faking a friendship for the sake of the fans (tbf taekook have given me trust issues maybe they would do this -.- but I hope they don't).
Jikook do fanservice, too. Together or with other members. The moment you mentioned, the one during the sofi concert when JK side-hugged Jimin, that was fanservice to me. You can go and check out every video of So What during the 2018 tour, and every night they did something at the end of So What. I actually was expecting something to happen at the end of So What every day of the sofi concerts. It doesn't mean that Jimin and Jungkook hate each other and only pretend to be friend on stage, and it also doesn't mean that they can't be dating just because they also do some things to make the fans scream or just to have fun themselves.
Sometimes it's about the vibes that make a moment more or less "real", and I get that. JK has done that same thing he did at SoFi with other members before, and I talked about how I never before got the feeling that he was going to kiss the other guys, but that time I got the feeling that he was about to kiss Jimin. "Vibes" are ok, they're real and we all feel them for a reason, but we also shouldn't forget that "vibes" are not really facts.
There's also the fact that no matter what they do, if it's on camera, it's up for everyone's consumption. A lot of BTS work life is for "sale". It's on the DVDs with their struggling moments during tour, the movies released on cinemas, Summer Winter Spring Autumn Packages, Season's Greetings, Bon Voyage, memories... The clothes they wear. None of that is either a good or a bad thing. It's just the way it is. And it's the same with ships. People, and I include myself in this, many times have said "they're feeding the shippers" and yeah sometimes they really actually are. Sometimes they actively seek out to create content for shippers and fans in general (both BTS and the company), and sometimes it's just a side effect of their work and personal lives being up for sale. Just because we're on it, let's take that SoFi moment as an example: that was JK creating "a moment". Hickeygate, on the other hand, it was simply a side effect of them living their lives as idols while being filmed. Jimin sucking on JK's neck wasn't a moment that was "created" while on stage, it was a real life moment of their private time that happened to end up on a DVD. Not every moment on stage is "created" either, the majority of the interactions all BTS have on stage are spontaneous and candid and funny and they happen because they're having fun with each other and we just happen to be expectators. Just because we're expectators it doesn't mean they are actors. If we weren't there, those moments would probably happen all the same.
