not to be on my venlumi bullshit but i feel like venti is lumines comfort person. i know she isnt able to see him, but she can feel him. she stares at the moon at night wondering how much longer until shes able to see her brother and she feels a change in the wind, feeling more like a blanket than a mere chill in the air. and, if she quiets her mind and listens to the sound of the breeze, she can hear a beautiful melody. she knows that, despite all the betrayals, the wind will always be by her side, no matter what form it decides to take
#venlumi#venti#lumine#genshin impact#they mean a lot to me#lumiven#i cant wait for her to see him again#i hope she sees him when they go to mare jivari#it makes sense story wise#if venti betrays her that may be her last straw

Natlan is not even out and there is already discourse on it. Like BRUH
#☆ ┆ ( .ooc. );#//For once; I actively agree with a side#//How in the FUCK did you expect Natlan to be ONLY volcanos and destruction and complain we got Rio basically#//and it was only a lil SNAPSHOT of the place too! Like BRUH; It is based in Latin America/African cultures and nations#//OFC there will be places that resemble tropical areas & have creatures that suit it. Of course there will be DIVERSE & LIVELY BIOMES#//Like; even with my hopes of it being like Atlantis from the movie; thought it’d be like the sequel#//& Sorta envisioned there having vibes like. Tenochtitlan but a lake of lava. but still so full of life and flora/fauna adapted to it#//The place itself elevated high enough above the lava so the ppl wouldn’t get crispied; ofc. but STILL#//Even with volcanic activity & war; the ENTIRE nation can’t be a fucken desolate wasteland; like come ON#//Do you think LATAM was a fucken ravaged wasteland before/after the conquistadors swung by to fuck shit up?? NO#//Y’all want the Mare Jivari or smth. Which we could still get; bc it’s supposedly NEAR Natlan#//Like I wouldn’t be surprised if there WERE part of the Nation of War that were ruined and desolate#//Every nation had SOME part of it that look like that. But to expect the WHOLE place to???& get upset at the life and color of the place??#//And to top it all off; WE HAVE NPCS WHO TALK ABT HOW MUCH THEY LIKE NATLAN. Do you think they would if it was just WASTELAND??#//B r u h. Wheres that one I think it was a tweet. Abt Natlan being inspo’d by LATAM/Africa not fuckin HELL#//Rare angy ranting mkfhfb#//But yeah; I’m holding fast to this. What the fuck

i find it interesting how out of all of the archons, venti is the only one withholding information and avoiding any conversation about celestia.
zhongli has already told us that he can’t talk about them, ei has actively shunned them, and nahida has started going against them. we don’t know much about what the tsaritsa is trying to do, but we know she’s trying to take them down and probably for a good reason.
from the information we’ve learned so far, celestia isn’t a great place, nor do the archons have any affection for them despite having to serve them. venti’s face in the webtoon when vennessa asks says enough.
#my ramblings#i reread the webtoon and started thinking about this#end game will probably be back to mondstadt#i’m so interested in the dandelion sea and mare jivari#genshin#genshin impact#venti

idk if its just me but ive always read diluc's namecard description as him only creating the phoenix during his burst after his dad's death
which. ourgh. something about diluc only pickup up the phoenix symbolism after his life was shattered makes me so ill
#like. the wording isnt past tense. its not that crepus never foresaw an eagle made of fire. its that he never /could/ have#idk how to describe it properly. the current wording does work for if it happened before but idk idk. words hard.#im gonna cling to it anyway. it and my diluc and the mare jivari phoenix theory.#step right up! || 🪄.txt

when we eventually go to mare jivari i wonder if venti will openly show concern, or even just come with the traveler. there's no wind there, and thats how venti is able to watch over them and make sure they're safe. the traveler means a lot to him, so i doubt he'll just let them go without doing something to assist them
#genshin impact#venti#mare jivari#i wonder if we'll ever bring the dodoco themed walkie talkie back into use#i wouldnt be surprised if we utilized it for mare jivari#i think we have 1 or 2 uses left of it#but it hasnt been brought up since...#or maybe we used it up#i dont remember#but either way PLEAAASSSEEEE they cant just let us go there without venti saying something

Honestly I just thought the Mare Jivari was meant to be the remains of Khaenri'ah- idk why but I just heard "a place where wind doesn't blow" and thought, "yeah that's probably the place that got fucked up by the gods" and didn't really think much further than that
But no apparently it's just a domain or something
i heard that mare jivari would actually have its own place on the map// im not sure though but i did see a mock map of it and apparently it'll be explorable?

#for me it’s the wonderous look Venti has in his eye looking at the wine#the music notes accenting his outfit#and the de-emphasis of the lighter blues on Furina’s outfit#so she’s deepest ocean to Venti’s lazy sky#the look of indignation on her face#it’s cuz he isn’t paying attention to her huh#they’d be the best of friends istg#went to check Venti voicelines over this#and yeah that’s as good as confirmed that we will get another Windblume where Venti and Furina interact#wonder if it’ll happen this version? prob not? it’d be nice post mare jivari

a/n ;; gonna be honest, this ficlet is just a dump of all the ideas i’ve got for my hydro husband, so if it flops that’s why. idk what mare jivari has secrets of but I’m assuming some heavy lore there when we get to it! ;; slight lore and fontaine archon quest spoilers. also didn’t know how to end it so *shrugs* reader has a geo vision!
Neuvillette never knew how outwardly possessive he could become… so… so emotional.
The people of Fontaine knew him as a stoic Iudex, a truly unbiased judge with nerves of steel to match. And while that was true, that persona remained to the public.
For the most part.
But with you, he feared word would get around that he’s more than just the calm and collected Iudex of Fontaine.
The man before him was sweating bullets in his presence. The air was thick and heavy with authority… or maybe a slight rage blended with jealousy. Either way, the man knew that Neuvillette was in no mood for small talk.
“E-E-Excuse me, Monsieur Neuvillette. I’ll be on my way now.”
Neuvillette’s reply is nothing short of flat. “Sure.”
As the man scurries off in a fast walk, you stifle your laughs with a hand over your mouth. Your shoulders shake with each giggle, and finally the Iudex can feel himself calming down.
“Jealous?”
Neuvillette gazed at you like you have three heads.
“Oh, come on. You can’t tell me you weren’t mad by another man keeping me company.”
“Of course not.”
“Liar,” you tut, waggling your finger. You take a sip of the coffee, humming as the caffeine and warmth spread through you. “But you’re off the hook, for now. I haven’t seen you in months. And I’m sure that you’ve missed me, too.”
“Tis the life of a famed adventurer like yourself, I suppose,” he responds, sitting down in the chair next to you in the court of the cafe.
“I suppose,” you sigh. “So; I heard about the prophecy. It came to pass then?”
Neuvillette sighs, nodding in confirmation. He’s simple with telling you what happened, utilizing enough detail that you can figure out specific events without him having to speak about them.
When he’s done, you lean back in your seat. Your eyes are blown open with bewilderment.
“So, your powers as the Hydro Sovereign are fully restored then?”
“That’s correct.”
“Celestia is gonna be pissed.”
“Let them simmer then. I will return their rage tenfold.”
You chuckle. “Hope you’ll let me know when the war starts. I’d like to help.”
Neuvillette’s brows furrow. He looks down to your Geo Vision, then to your left arm and right leg, their secrets hidden behind nothing more than cloth.
“A Vision doesn’t mean much except a representation of one’s type of wish at a certain time, Neuvillette. That… and I know more about this world than I care to.”
He’s silent for a moment, then realizes. “Mare Jivari?”
“There, and much more.” You shake your head. “But let’s not think about that. Any new riveting cases? How are the Melusines? Have you finally given Charlotte her interview?”
Neuvillette chuckles. Yes, he’s indeed missed you.
Ah, now he’s wondering how to ask you on a date.

Venti is like a song that keeps alive people’s stories, including that of the Nameless Bard and other historical figures of Mondstadt, while he himself is wrapped in a mystery, only glimpsed through parallels between him and those whose stories he tell
—just like how his Story Quest focuses on Stanley’s story with Venti not really revealing anything about himself until the last scene.
But you learn about him anyway through Stanley’s reactions, because Stanley’s story directly parallels Venti’s own story with the bard:
Stanley: “You were a renowned adventurer, destined to become a legend one day... But now... that'll never happen, because your life was cut short— and all because of a worthless tag-along...”
Stanley: “Stanley, for so many years I've lived in fear... fear that Mondstadt will forget all about you... So I tell your adventure stories at every opportunity...
Stanley: “Mondstadt must remember: Stanley reached the center of the Mare Jivari... He's the greatest adventurer there ever was, and he lives on!”
Venti: “Exactly... Even in his memory, the real Stanley isn't the living, breathing friend he knew at all.”
Venti: “Instead, he's become fixed on the image of him as that battle-scarred warrior... and that image has held him captive his entire life.”
I mean, Venti likely feels this way towards the Nameless Bard too, even though he doesn’t show that in the quest. And Stanley is just a human. Meanwhile Venti—Venti has held onto the Nameless Bard’s image for around 2600 years.

I think it must be something else, cause other nations apparently can visit Natlan just fine. We got some NPCs that say they went there for vacations and praised their natural hot springs (which then one dude tried to replicate in Inazuma).
So it's no problem to enter or leave Natlan on its own, cause anyone else can do it just for fun. And if it's such a tourist attraction, then I wonder how the hell even the "endless war" works that no one (presumably) gets accidentally pulled into it.
I do think there is a strong curse on them that will cause grave danger and hurt and kills anyone that leaves eventually. Maybe even the further they are, the more intense it gets.
And since Mondstadt is so far away, Bennet should have been dead ages ago (if he's found in Mare Jivari and possible born out of the ashes as I assume, like a phoenix), but I wouldn't necessary rule out the possibility of him being blessed too. Like, blessed and cursed, at the same time. Cursed with misfortune, but blessed with the survival of the consequences of that misfortune (so technically, if the curse cannot be broken or even tampered with, anything outside it should be okay to play with).
But in the end, we don't really have that much to go off from, unless the little details are tossed across all the current lore in little off-hand mentions or weirdly specific wordings and observations...I suppose I should stop dragging my feet and finally replay the game and write stuff down as I go.
youtube
So I was watching this video, and I had a few thoughts.
Listen, I love the theory that it's a curse that's preventing the people of Natlan from leaving, but I'd like to raise a more detailed point.
For context, my dad plays Genshin- he's currently on his way to Liyue. I've been discussing minor bits of lore with him, in part because we both like a good story, but also because he's working towards a degree in history and he's an author. Because of his writing skills and his knowledge of history, he has a bit of insight into what could be happening with Natlan. Here's what we came up with:
1) It's possible that the people of Natlan find it too difficult to cross the region between it and the other nations. After all, it's quite possible that the Mare Jivari (or maybe a highly dangerous volcanic region) is in-between Natlan and Sumeru Desert, and we all know how dangerous and difficult to traverse that area is. It's like a desert on crack, and deserts like the Sahara have historically deterred people from interacting with nations beyond the sands. That doesn't mean no one ever tried- people did manage to cross the Sahara eventually, and the same goes for the Great Red Sands/Mare Jivari/whatever is in-between Natlan and the other nations because we know Vennessa's tribe made it through the region at some point. They must've had a pretty big reason to, like maybe dragons becoming more hostile towards their tribe specifically or the wars becoming too difficult for the Children of Murata to handle. They might've even been hunted due to their affiliation with the former Pyro Archon, which could be the result of a battle to earn that title taking place that might span back all the way to Vennessa's time. (Yes, this theory is inspired. I'll let you guess by who.) (Also this could be another nod to Natlan's inspiration. The ocean separated the Americas from the other continents for thousands of years before anyone decided to cross it.)
2) Natlan is extremely xenophobic, which would make sense due to its inspirations. Natives (both North and South American) have always been wary of outsiders due to some... certain people. My dad also brought up that some conquistadors in the Americas were known as "dragoons" due to their weapons, which you can look up on Wikipedia if you'd like to read more. Maybe Hoyoverse is going for a play on words with Latin American history and the dragons we hear about are/were invaders in Natlan, causing the nation to fear and hate outsiders. Maybe that is all in the past, but a Harbinger looking to win a tournament could use that history to cause some tension between the people of Natlan and the dragons they live with...
3) A combination of the previous two as well as war and/or a curse could be making it extremely difficult for the people of Natlan to exit their nation. This is the most likely option, historically speaking (minus the curse- consider that the thing that makes Genshin's version special). That is, if Hoyoverse plans to base Natlan on the Americas as much as they did with other nations and their inspirations.
What do you think?
#genshin impact#natlan#i have no idea which way they will go this time#but i do think since we got to know that a gnosis brings curses and misfortune#then that could thematically link and foreshadow some nonsense that plays out in Natlan#and the whole thing with at least most dragons assimilating with humans and the Primordial Fire being a thing#and Mare Jivari being ashes and possibly hosting a phoenix#it just makes me wonder about what we will get in these next patches in foreshadowing

Hello! I have a request for the 1.5k follower event (congrats by the way), but I was wondering if you could do prompt 8 with clorinde? Hope you have a nice day
Cuddling in the morning
Characters: Clorinde x gn!reader
warnings: none, just fluff
a/n: Obvious but still necessarry disclaimer that Clorinde hasn't released yet, so if this eventually turns out to be out of character you are all allowed to fire one (1) crossbow bolt at me. So better start practising your aim /j
Anyway, thanks for the congratulations and I hope you enjoy!
Clorinde
At first, Clorinde couldn’t stand having your sleeping form hug and stick to her. Not because she hated the concept behind it, but simply since falling asleep became as big of a nightmare as any bad memories from past duels could ever hope to be, your warm body emitting enough heat to get an entire household through Fontaine’s most merciless winters.
Still, there wasn’t much she could do against it, and with time, Clorinde slowly but surely grew accustomed to your clingy sleeping position, even finding it rather enjoyable once the colder seasons arrived… perhaps even a little too much.
When Clorinde’s eyes slowly but surely opened, only for the sun that usually greeted her through her window to be missing, its presence substituted by the setting moon she ought to have grown accustomed to since the beginning of winter, her very first thought was to close her eyes once again and return to sleep, only for her sense of duty to kill that very notion in its crib, the Duel Champion languidly attempted to crawl out of bed. Back in the day, she would have been met with absolutely no resistance, but as her mind busied itself with thinking over her plans for the day, she was suddenly pulled back to bed and reality by a familiar pair of arms.
Before Clorinde could do as much as utter a word, she was already cut short by mumbled protests, containing the same phrases of “just five more minutes” and “please stay” as usual, pleas that would once again fall onto deaf ears. It was already too warm under the blankets for Clorinde’s liking anyway, your Pyro Vision making sure the heat matched whatever the Mare Jivari had to offer at its worst.
As she continued to untangle your arms from her, muttering out small apologies to whatever protests and cries your half-asleep form threw at her, she couldn’t help but silently wonder how anyone would react to seeing one of Fontaine’s most esteemed bureaucrats like this, the realization that this was a part of you only her got to see suddenly brightening her morning by a little bit. Still, work had still to be done and continuing to lay in bed and do nothing helped no one, no matter how much you kept insisting on it.
With one last tug, she was finally free, quickly proceeding to slip out from under the blanket, only for the freezing air to make her hairs stand up the moment she pushed her arm out, her gaze immediately fixating on the window you forgot to close last night, your impromptu sauna suddenly not looking that grim in comparison to what would away her if she decided to make her way fully out of bed.
Usually, Clorinde would have just bitten the bullet, got out of bed and quickly made her way to someone not as cold, on this morning however, as she felt your arms once again finding their way around her torso, slowly but surely embracing her, just all too eager to get her back under the sheats for “just a few more minutes”, she decided to offer little resistance, lying back down until her face was once again across from yours, causing a meager cheer to escape your half-asleep lips before you quickly fell silent once again, your breaths growing slower and deeper as your hug tightened. …Skipping one early swordsman practice surely wouldn’t hurt too much.
