do you ever think about how Avad’s last straw was witnessing his brother Kadaman’s execution in the sun ring? An execution ordered by their own father?

Itamen looks up at him.

“No more cages?”

Avad shakes his head, smiling down at his brother. It’s easy to forget how young he is, sometimes - even after a prank like this one.

“No more cages.”

Itamen exhales heavily, relaxing back against his side, and Jiran’s two sons take in the calm quiet of a golden afternoon.

“Teach me how to keep it that way?” Itamen’s voice is quiet, but serious.

Avad has never considered having children of his own, not really. But as he looks down at Tam? He wonders if the bright feeling in his chest is the same one that fosters the softness he’s heard in the voices of other children’s fathers.

He hugs Itamen tighter, swallowing around the knot in his throat.

“We’ll learn together.”

Theory:

Shinsu Jiran has analysed all the characters and has determined that Shirayuki and Tariga are the best ship, don't @ him.

He will send away her other suitors and lock her and Tariga in a room together to 'work' on falling in love. Ok, Obi is allowed to stay, mainly bc he's a cool guy but also bc while he is very unlikely to make a move on Shirayuki he will at the same time trigger a love triangle sitch that gives Tariga a well-needed kick up the backside when it comes to realising his feelings, as Shinsu witnessed that APPALLING display of small-talk between him and Shirayuki when he told Tariga to give her a tour of the place (that was meant to be an opportune moment of alone time and he FLUBBED IT)
