Coming from a family where Olympic gold runs in their veins, Jimmy Brooks was born with the weight of expectation on his shoulders. With generations of athletes behind him, it was never a question of if he’d become one, but when. The Brooks name is practically legendary. Jimmy’s path was set long before he ever picked up a ball, with scouts knocking at his door by the time he took his first steps. Every move he makes feels like it’s measured against his family’s legacy, and while it’s not always easy, he’s learned to embrace it. Being an athlete is in his blood; It’s who he was always meant to be. It's what he's good at, what helped him gain his confidence -- And depending on his mood, arrogance. He ignored the desire to explore other talents, to dare to venture into something different, all for the sake of making his parents proud. It recent years, he's had to pivot from the life his parents created for him -- Being in a wheelchair stalled his basketball career, forcing Jimmy to see himself in a different light.
