with asra, it feels comfortable. you two are puzzle pieces that fit together in every way. you understand each other. it's like you're old and young at the same time - you've know each other for what seems like forever, and yet you discover new things together every day. it's also aching and yearning - every second you're apart it feels like a part of you is missing. it makes you want to scream, laugh and cry, with the sheer amount you adore each other.

with julian, it feels desperate, hungry almost. with everything that has happened in the past, it pains you to be apart - you want to touch him, kiss him, hold him and never let go. words aren't enough to describe your feelings for each other, the emotional chasm left gaping inside you, able only to be filled by your other half. maybe it's codependent, but neither of you care - not for the moment at least.

with nadia, it's intoxicating. it sweeps you off your feet and leaves you exhilarated, craving the moments alone with her that you so rarely get to have. you are her escape from her duties as countess, her indulgence, her sweetest vice. you are what she longs for during hard days and what she wants to spend the rest of her life coming home to.

with muriel, it's steadfast but clumsy, and sturdy yet gentle. you are each other's rock, always there to turn to, talk to, laugh and cry with. your relationship is full of warmth and genuine devotion. his fear of hurting you in any way is strangely what makes him such a doting lover. what muriel lacks in experience, he makes up for in thoughtfulness, tenderness and quiet regard.

with portia, it's carefree and playful. it's feeling young again, sneaking off together into secret passageways when she's off duty, giggling with each other until late at night. you feel elated and breezy when you're together, going on mini adventures and laughing until your cheeks hurt. there's something oddly domestic about the way she makes you feel, like every day is another story waiting to happen, no matter how mundane it may seem.

with lucio, it's empowering. you two are unstoppable with the world at your feet. you believed in each other when no one else would, him protecting you from harm's way and you helping him through his darkest hours. together you form a fierce duo, ready to take on whatever the realms dare throw at you next.

LUCIFER

you got stuck where?

he... honestly does not know what to think

can you not just climb down? oh, you're scared to? well i suppose your big strong demon husband will be able to help then

will lift you out of the tree with ease like a true courteous gentleman

MAMMON

thinks it's the funniest fuckin thing ever

laughs at you for a good 10 minutes before climbing up the tree to help you out

it doesn't work. he is now also stuck up the tree.

you end up getting out before him and helping him down

if you tease him about it afterwards he will go full tsundere i am not joking

LEVIATHAN

what? wHAT DO I DO?

levi panic mode activated

he does not want to help you down, what if you fall and hurt yourself? there will only be himself to blame :(

tries to call the fire brigade (or whatever the devildom equivalent is) but you stop him before he can

you pluck up the courage to drop yourself haphazardly from a branch into his arms

he carries you all the way home to make sure you are not injured <3

SATAN

will act a little exasperated but secretly thinks it's rather endearing

he's not very good at pretending though, you see past his act almost immediately

you remind him of a cat stuck up a tree

he will gently coax you into his arms and lift you down to the floor

will act very slightly more clingy with you for the rest of the day

may also tease you slightly about it haha evil little man

ASMODEUS

huh? aww mc in a tree!

thinks it's just too darn cute

will take pictures of you in the tree before trying his best to help you down

bless him, he's not very good

he doesn't want to rip his clothes on the tree okay?

ends up getting one of the others to help you down but snatches you out of their grasp as soon as you get low enough

will also tease you about it! you're just too cute when you're embarrassed ;)

BEELZEBUB

won't even question it, will just lift you out of the tree and plop you on the ground

it is so effortless. this man is 6'4 and built like a mf truck

if you aren't doing well like if you're afraid of heights or you hurt yourself he will keep carrying you around afterwards to make sure you're okay

eventually becomes curious as to how you got there in the first place?

will find it v cute if it's a funny story or you get embarrassed when telling it

BELPHEGOR

you really expect him to come rescue you?

it takes a lot of persuading for him to actually show up where you are

struggles to find the tree that you're stuck in

when he does find it he will climb up to where you are and legit just fall asleep

are you going to stay there or try and get out? it's your decision

LUCIFER

lucifer... wouldn't really know how to react

i think throughout your friendship or relationship he'd probably pick up that some things weren't quite right

whether that's if you seemed a bit too wary around the demons or whether you're still grieving over who you lost

either way, he wouldn't think too much of it at first

he probably figures it's something to do with the big change in coming to the devildom, maybe you miss home?

but it starts to go on a little bit too long to just be homesickness.

eventually he's the one that talks to you about it

when you open up he's shocked, to say the least

he knows demons aren't exactly angels (pun not intended) but he never considered one would stoop that low?

immediately regrets all the times he's threatened and scared you

offers to give you space to grieve, but will be there if you need a helping hand

MAMMON

poor boy is completely oblivious

literally doesn't pick up on any of the signs, thinks you're being shy or something

it takes some intervention from simeon for him to notice something's off

poor angel has to not-so-subtly hint at him to talk to you

thankfully, he takes the hint and so initiates the conversation in private

and when you tell him he does not know how to react.

imagines what it would be like if one of his family members... yk, and actually chokes up at the thought

cannot fathom what you're going through

and so, he scoops you up in a massive bear hug.

it's up to you whether you cry into his shoulder or not but if you do he'll cry on yours too

LEVIATHAN

levi is someone, as we all know, that isn't too great with people and/or emotions

this means that he probably won't gather that anything much is going on with you

so if you want him to know, you will have to sit him down and tell him yourself.

at first, he just kinda sits there and lets what you've said sink in

he also doesn't know what to do in a situation like this

so, he thinks about what he's want others to do if this happened to him.

as a result, he just gives you space.

too much space.

he will hide away in his room even more than usual, not even coming out for meals, because he is so afraid of reminding you of what happened to you.

eventually, if you want comfort from him, you'll have to talk to him and reassure him that you don't blame him, or any demon for that matter.

it's just a thing that happened, however tragic it may be, and it's in the past now.

SATAN

this man is the most perceptive of the lot.

he notices how nervous you look, and how you unknowingly shrink into yourself around demons.

like lucifer, at first he'll figure it's just nerves about being in the devildom

it's only survival instinct - here you are surrounded by people far stronger than you, it's natural to be afraid

but when you start to develop a bond with each other, he notices more little things

how you accidentally flinch when he touches you sometimes

how you often seem lost in thought, reminiscing sadly on days of the past

he figures it may be something to do with a toxic ex?

and so he talks to you first about it

when you tell him about what's bothering you, all the puzzle pieces click into place

he starts feeling rage towards the demon that committed this atrocity

then quickly realises there's no point

he asks you how he can make it easier for you, whether you need space or support

however you want to deal with this, he will be there for you

ASMODEUS

at first, he wouldn't really notice if you were behaving strangely

not that he doesn't care! he does, but this man is so easily distracted

as your relationship develops, asmo does start to notice some little things

he's kinda used to it though - quite often people get a little overwhelmed by how there he is so he tries to tone it down a bit around you

spoiler alert: it doesn't work

he's another one that you will have to talk to if you want him to understand how you feel.

when you do, he absolutely pounces on you

grabs your face, looks you in the eyes and promises he will never do anything to hurt you

definitely will not let you go for at least the next day

this man adores you sm!

BEELZEBUB

beel is quite perceptive when it comes to emotions, even if he doesn't realise it

in the way that, if someone isn't feeling great, he kind of has an instinct to help them without really knowing why

he associates his negative feelings with hunger, and so you'll find him bringing you comfort foods on days where you're grieving more than usual

when or if you eventually tell him about it, he won't say much, but he will scoop you up in a massive bear hug

he understands completely your feelings of grief, having gone through something very similar with lilith

he'll stay with you as long as you need after that conversation, only leaving to get you more of your favourite snack or treat

BELPHEGOR

this boy is so emotionally stunted

he has been locked in an attic for months with next to no social contact, and when he is around people he's far too sleepy to pick up on emotional cues

so he wouldn't notice anything.

if you do decide to tell him about the people you lost, you will have to make sure he is awake and alert

which generally isnt an easy feat

he instantly feels so guilty.

you've lost people to demons already, and he had to go and try to kill you.

he can only imagine how scared you felt

and to make it worse, he fully understands the pain of losing someone you love

respects how you dont hold a grudge towards demons, something that he wasn't able to do when lilith died.

so yeah, i hope you enjoyed this, and didn't cry as much as i did while writing it! im so sorry this took ages to write, i lost someone close to me a couple months ago so this hit a little close to home. likes and reblogs are always appreciated, and i hope you all have a great day! :)

obey me boys' favourite ghibli films

summary: what i think the obey me characters' favourite ghibli films would be! this is purely self-indulgent nonsense - if you couldn't tell by my username and pfp, i am a huge ghibli fan<3

LUCIFER - Tales from Earthsea

this film is based on the earthsea quartet, a book series by ursula le guin (such a good series, pls go read it it's amazing)

i just feel like the high fantasy aspects and wizardry give me lucifer vibes

it's high on escapism as well, and i can just imagine lucifer after a long day of overworking himself sitting down and putting on this film

(psst- im aware this film isnt too popular generally, and that's ok! let people enjoy what they want to :D)

MAMMON - Arietty

another film based on a book (the borrowers by mary norton) and generally closer to the original plotline than tales from earthsea was tbh

but, i digress!

this film is super nice and sweet (even though it deals with some heavier themes) and i think mammon would really enjoy it!

also he's kinda similar to the borrowers in a way, what with... stealing from his brothers i guess

LEVIATHAN - When Marnie Was There

sad. sad film, so sad but so happy as well? ugh i love it <33

levi is absolutely a film nerd and would definitely appreciate the complexities of the characters and story

and how it deals with heavy subjects like trauma and loss in such a sweet yet hard-hitting way? im crying

i feel like he'd definitely relate to anna in some ways

SATAN - Howl's Moving Castle

this is my all-time favourite movie so i may be slightly biased

i am guilty of imagining satan as film!howl more than once 😳

i just. beautiful wizard man + beautiful demon man = jay's entire heart

he would love that movie. he'd definitely have read the book first i feel, and although the film isn't an exact replica, it's surprisingly story-accurate?

not howl's character though, we skip over that ahaha

but anyways. the vibes are immaculate, animation, story, everything. love itttt

ASMODEUS - The Tale of Princess Kaguya

okay, i have only seen this once and it was a few years ago so my memory may be rusty

but from what i remember, it is such a beautiful film! just like beautiful boy asmo!

very unique compared to other ghibli films, it really stands out in my memory

it's so ethereal and pretty, i really feel like he'd appreciate the beauty in the visuals and the story.

BEELZEBUB - Ponyo

such a cute and wholesome film! i think he'd be hooked

a little strange as well? i've watched it a few times and never quite understood what was going on

but honestly i don't really think you have to! stunning film (like all of them) and a really cute story

there's definitely themes of family and home there, and i think beel would relate to that

and the ramen that sosuke's mum makes? ugh i want it! he would definitely appreciate the yummy food

BELPHEGOR - My Neighbour Totoro

cosy film! very warm and nice, perfect to fall asleep to.

belphie would definitely be jealous of mei when she got to lie on totoro. i know i was >:(

the catbus! oh my gosh he'd love the catbus.

this film also has themes of family and togetherness, and i think belphie would like that as he's struggled with it in the past.

why am i just now realising that literally all ghibli films have really sad undertones :/

DIAVOLO - The Cat Returns

diavolo LOVES cats. you cannot change my mind. don't even try

i just love the idea of this fucking massive demon prince being absolutely stoked at the funny little cats in suits

it's got such a weird story but honestly that just makes it even better

this film is so nostalgic for me cause it was one of the first i watched when i was about 7 and it holds a special place in my heart:')

BARBATOS

i'm sorry barbatos lovers, he simply does not have the time to have a favourite ghibli film

however, if you ask him to sit down and watch one with you he will happily oblige when he has a free evening!

he's intelligent enough to be able to give thoughts on the characters, themes and film as a whole

he will especially like the nice, easy ones like totoro or kiki's delivery service - films like that let him relax for a couple hours :)

SIMEON - Grave of the Fireflies

i hc that simeon really likes sad movies, and this film absolutely broke me.

i'm serious (for once) - the most heart wrenching film i have ever seen, and i've watched a good few

he's strange though - he'll be sitting through the saddest scene ever, like someone's just died, and he will not shed a single tear. fuckin weirdo

what can i say, the angel likes emotional pain. idk why. go to therapy instead maybe

however, i would quite like to cry on simeon's beautiful shoulders for him to comfort me<3

SOLOMON - Spirited Away

he's just a bit weird honestly, and so is this film

don't get me wrong, i love it, amazing movie

but it's just... strange?

like, her parents turn into pigs, a witch steals her name and then some dude with cool hair comes and gives her food

there's definitely more to it than that but those are the key points in my head

but yeah. solomon's weird, therefore this film fits him.

LUKE - Kiki's Delivery Service

such a good film. omg

it's so feel-good and cute! perfect for my wonderful child

luke would definitely try and make some of the things in the bakery! they'd be so good hhh

he would love jiji and how sarcastic he is (aw thanks luke)

i think he'd be really interested in how the witches in that world work as well

but he will make you food and drinks, he will fetch you medication and painkillers

he's the one that emails the school to ask for your week off

he is the type of person to carry you out of bed and help you wash your hair & clean your teeth

forget his pledge of allegiance to diavolo, right now his human isn't well and they take priority

MAMMON

he will overreact like it's nobody's business

literally doesn't know a thing about human biology or illnesses and assumes the worst

"MY HUMAN IS DYING" "mammon sweetie it's just a cold" "I CANT LIVE WITHOUT YOU"

gets the finest human doctor in the devildom to have a look at you

idk if devildom healthcare is free but if not, he will not care how much grimm it costs

after the doctor has confirmed that you are fine he will act like a doting mother around you

he just wants you to be okay and feel comfortable :(

LEVIATHAN

he is a massive germophobe and you cannot change my mind

he is physically too scared to go into your room and feels so bad about it

hourly text updates asking if you need anything

he normally hates video calling but is happy to, just to see your face <3

if you ask him to get anything for you it arrives at your door in under 10 minutes (thank you akuzon prime delivery)

if you're a gamer then he will happily play your fave co-op games with you on voice if you feel up to it

he will not let you play for more than a couple hours at a time though!

SATAN

worrying mother pt.2 except he is a bit more chill about it

will research your symptoms for hours despite you telling him that you're fine

he is going to be around you at all times

whether he is in your room or you are in his, you are never getting rid of him

will 100% watch dramas with you to take your mind off it

if you feel particularly bad he will cuddle w you and read to you until you fall asleep satan marry me challenge

ASMODEUS

doesn't particularly like the idea of catching your disease , however has to be touching you at all times

seriously, it is not enough to stop him from clinging on to you 24/7-

he knows how icky you feel so you two have a lot of self care nights

facemasks, manicures, movies, the whole shebang

will encourage you to get a bit of fresh air now and then as it's not good for your mental health or your skinto stay cooped up in your room

(although he knows when not to push it, if you're sick you're sick)

BEELZEBUB

do i even need to say it?

the man is an avid believer that food cures everything

he'll look at special herbal dishes that help relieve symptoms and stuff, if your sinuses are blocked he will give you spices, that sorta thing

he enlists the help of luke and tells him to make your favourite sweet treats

(i'm sure that luke is more than happy to oblige)

when it comes down to it he is a very comforting presence, and just having him next to you is enough to make you feel a little better :')

he also gives great hugs??? this is a universally agreed fact
