My personal head canon is that Jidan Nickard from the 08th MS Team and Dr. Wily from the Mega Man series are the same character. Jidan is simply Wily after he's finally mellowed out after being defeated by Mega Man one too many times.
It's not like Wily has never worked under an alias or hopped dimensions before. Think about it.
