It was isolating. People had experienced heartbreak, but they didn't know you, so they could never understand me. I found myself again and had you written all over. If only it were as easy as pulling out a deep splinter or removing a tumor. Maybe then I could be free. I'm afraid you exist in every facet of my being; you are the blood traveling through the vein that connects my ring finger to my heart.

For all one knows, regret is the most painful emotion to be felt. It does not wash away like muck in the shower or dirt beneath your fingernails. That would be too easy… life was never meant to be easy. It was meant to be painful with the intention to feel each sting and punch. Regret buries itself deep in your subconscious, floating around like a polyp and coming out when you least expect it. Here to remind you that you were wrong all along. You never fully recover; you learn to deal with the pain. You accept that this is as every bit a part of your DNA as the proteins that created your two hands, your ten fingers, and your beating heart. This is you. No one can see it but it is always there, dragging you… pulling you… suffocating you. This is you.
Fall is upon us and it will swallow the city whole. We will trickle down its esophagus and land softly in the pit of its stomach– one that is overly abundant in forty degree weather and scattered rain showers. Overly abundant but insufficient, for a million scattered rain showers pale in comparison to a baptism that would mend the shattered pieces of two broken souls. One of which sits across from me. The other exists behind the eyes that allow me to gaze upon you with adoration and regret.

Hello! Love your blog. It's wonderful and is sure to make many people's days. Sea slug request: Cyerce Nigricans or Costasiella Kuroshimae.
🌊Latin name: Costasiella Kuroshimae
🌊Common name: Leaf slug, Leaf sheep, Solar-powered sea slug
🌊Family: Costasiellidae
🌐Near Japan, Indonesia, and the Philippines, leaf sheep can be found underwater, where light is available. Found next to coral reefs.
🦠They live and feed on Avrainvillea - a fuzy algea. They suck on the algea, getting the chloroplasts out and keep them in the ceratas for 10 days. This process is called kleptoplasty. It also means they can do photosyntesis - they’re one of the only sea creatures that can photosynthesize. If needed, it allows them to suppliment their diet in case of need.
More photos of these guys:
🐌 We thank you for the ask! Cyerce nigricans is for another time ;)
P.s: apologies for the late reply!
