I genuinely love Feng Xin x Jian Lan and I'm not sorry about it.
He's uncomfortable with nudity and seeing the opposite gender exposed. She works at a brothel.
And Feng Xin still worked his butt off to make more money just so he could visit Jian Lan there. Not to exploit her body like other clients, but just to be able to talk and spend time with her while she still gets paid.
He's the only man she slept with out of love. She's the only women he loved enough to sleep with. She was only one he shared his body with & her body was the only one he didn't fear the sight of.
Circumstances may have drove them apart but how is what they once had not beautiful?
JianFeng they could never make me hate you!!!
#I'm not a FengQing anti btw! I just like Feng Xin's relationship with Jian Lan and that should be ok!#feng xin#jian lan#feng xin x jian lan#jian lan x feng xin#jianfeng#tgcf#tian guan ci fu#heaven official's blessing

feng xin/ jian lan but mu qing participated as a spectre looming in the background with his highness xie lian. or the occasional quote unquote yaoi break
SHDKSHDKSSJDH first of all im a feminist and I'm not inserting vestigial yaoi into women's narratives like farewell my concubine 🙄🙄
just kidding lol im taking your hand anon im gonna try to elucidate our folie à deux here. (clutching the crystal ball of my mind) ok ok so
feng xin falling in love with a beautiful coy headstrong cuntress with long ink-black hair and a sharp gaze, but this one..... she lets you in. she listens. she doesn't hate you. she makes you feel needed. and that's nice, right? it's nice to be needed, to be wanted even, for your overtures to be accepted, the song and dance of courtship not like a fight for conquest where you know you can lose when you've already lost so much--just love like in the stories you grew up with, where the hero and the beauty and forever are all promised
ignore the hiss in the back of your mind that it is a love dictated as much by mutual necessity as it is motivated by true feeling. never mind that it's her duty to love you, just as it is your duty to provide and sacrifice, all your life. that doesn't matter here, because it is true that you want to be with her, just as it is true that you both need each other to live, to survive this new world you've fallen into.
it's true and it's real when you open up your heart to her; even when your master no longer needs you, even when your friends no longer understand you, even when no one else calls for you. at least there's her, you can give her all that's left of you, you can still provide, you can still sacrifice, you can still love someone that actually loves you back. she opens up her arms to you and she doesn't leave bruises
it's also true and it's also real that it doesn't go on forever. eventually she closes up and she loves you but she lets you go just as everyone does because love is not enough. she sends you away all alone, and you can't even be surprised because it's not like it's the first time! you give and give and give but it will never be enough to keep someone who wants to leave
but at least you're a god now. you never wanted it but it's what you have: devotees, worshippers, people to protect. they sacrifice for you now. they fight in your name, bask in your divine light. all you have to do is give them your all, which is not so hard. it's what you've done all your life
#hewwo#asks#anonymous#ok sorry anon this was not your vision at all i tried my best to receive the divine oracle but the signal here is shaky#bon appetit#tgcf#fx#jian lan#jianfeng#<- my beautiful new tag for jian lan x feng xin

Real-time reaction to first 17 minutes of gameplay
I like Kung Lao, and Raiden is a good foil to him. Their dynamic is good.
That's a clever play on Raiden's part. Good to see he's not all gentleness and sunshine
I know Madam Bo is this timeline's Bo Rai' Cho, and I'm super excited to see her
damn kung lao can i have ur number boy
I love seeing these two guys just being homies and acting like the college-age guys they probably are, it's actually really wholesome
she's as glorious as I imagined. "Like the sons I never had" makes me wonder if she's got a daughter out there, or has no children for some other reason.
She teaches them the martial arts too! Dope!
Jianfeng is more modern than I first thought. There's a cabinet for cold drinks and I think I might have seen one of those ice cream displays
stop it Liu Kang you're creeping me out
omg that smile on Kung Lao I've fallen hard and I can't get up
that's a lot of blood...aaaaaallll over Madam Bo's nice hardwood floors.
Raiden's not as soft as I thought. He's got resolution and firmness of character, and also an adorable smile.
WTF SMOKE WHO THE HELL INVITED YOU INTO THIS PERFECTLY NICE TEA HOUSE
Smoke's got some goons with him. He may not be the adorable dude who follows Scorpion around like a puppy that we thought.
Protection money?! What the fuck, Smoke? Is the Lin Kuei the freaking mob?!
HELL YEAH MADAM BO KICK HIS oh wait. I guess that was over fast ._. Smoke seems to take after Bi-Han more than Kuai Liang.
That ninja they wrecked has some real pale eyes, man.
I love their devotion to Madam Bo.
Wait, Sub is giving Score ice armor? Weird, but also really cool (no pun intended)
That fire ring attack Scorpion does is super stylish.
Liu Kang you piece of shit why are you not helping them?
omg that guy completely unfazed by the action. "Bi-Han and the Link Kuei boys are trying to kill people? Must be Tuesday. BTW thanks for the ice."
Final thoughts: Kung Lao's really fun as a character and Raiden's substantial enough to be a good foil. I like their dynamic, they should host a podcast together (as should Johnny and Kitana). Madam Bo is the best and I adore her. I hope she survives to kick some more ass and serve some more tea. Was hoping to see more from Team Umgadi tbh, especially since Kitana's said exactly one line in the story cutscenes.
Actually really surprised that the Lin Kuei turned out to be glorified goons and that Smoke of all people was so hostile.
KRONIKA WAS 100% UNNECESSARY THOUGH MAN. She doesn't belong in this world. She belongs on fuckin' Mars, man.

WaPo - In China’s shadow, U.S. rushes back to neglected Indian Ocean island (3 Sep 23)
[WaPo is Private US Media]
At the height of the Cold War, the U.S. Air Force tracking station that monitored Soviet satellites from this island’s soaring tropical forests was a focus of Seychelles life.[...] Then, the Cold War ended, the Soviet Union collapsed and in 1996 the Americans left, dismantling the tracking station and shutting down their embassy — citing budgetary reasons for abandoning what had seemingly become an irrelevant corner of the world.
Today, the compound where Americans and Seychellois partied is home to the Seychelles Tourism Academy, where young islanders training to be tour guides, hoteliers and masseuses take classes, among other subjects, in Chinese[...] In June, Seychelles became the latest in a string of small nations around the world in which the United States has established, restored or is planning to open an embassy[...]
Seychelles offers an example of the ways America’s absence opened the door to Chinese influence. In the 27 years since the United States pulled out, China has built schools, hospitals, houses for low-income families and public amenities, winning sympathy among Seychellois who felt abandoned by the U.S. departure. “They do the little things that America doesn’t do. This is where the Americans are weak. There is nothing we can say America built,” said Seychelles President Wavel Ramkalawan in an interview. “This is why countries like China have come in, because there was a vacuum.”
Seychelles officials say they are delighted to have the Americans back but also recognize that China is likely the main reason for the return, potentially pulling Seychelles into the big power rivalry.
“We cannot say we are naive. We do understand the competition going on. In the Cold War we had the United States and the Soviet Union and now it is the United States and China,” Seychelles Foreign Minister Sylvestre Radegonde said in an interview. “Someone woke up and realized how important it is to counter the Chinese influence.” The United States now has ground to make up, he said. “When you are late at a party, the party starts without you, so you have to make up time. It’s a fact that China has been a long time here. They have a lot of sympathy.”[...]
China is also the only country to have maintained diplomatic missions in all six of the Indian Ocean island nations that until recently were represented by three U.S. embassies, noted Darshana Baruah, who heads Carnegie’s Indian Ocean Initiative.[...]
Top Chinese officials regularly visit — China’s President Hu Jintao called Seychelles “a shining pearl” during a stop in 2007, and Foreign Minister Wang Yi was here in 2021, describing Seychelles as “an important member of the big family of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation.” When the new U.S. Embassy in Seychelles was launched in June, Richard Verma, the deputy secretary of state for management and resources, became the most senior U.S. government official to visit the nation since the 1990s.[...]
“Our foreign policy is to treat every country, big or small, as an equal,” said Mu Jianfeng, China’s charge d’affaires in Seychelles. “I don’t know why they closed and I don’t know why they opened,” he said of the Americans. “But if they think Seychelles is important they will have an embassy here.”[...]
Seychelles does not count China among its top trading partners. Most of its goods are imported from the United Arab Emirates, South Africa and the European Union.[...]
China built the stately white-pillared National Assembly building where the democratically elected parliament meets, and the adjoining Supreme Court, both important symbols of the country’s identity as a nation. It’s in the process of completing a new headquarters for the state broadcasting company, which will more than double the network’s space. Thousands of Seychellois live in housing built by China and made available at subsidized prices — a shortage of housing for the least well-off is identified by Seychelles officials as one of the country’s biggest social needs.
The Chinese [sic] have invited hundreds of Seychellois on visits and scholarships to China, and China’s Confucius Institute teaches Chinese classes in primary schools, the university, which China built in the 1980s, an adult education center in the capital and at the Seychelles Tourism Academy.[...]
U.S. officials say that countering China’s presence is not the only reason for the return.[...] Although Seychelles has been a multiparty democracy for the past two decades, elections in 2020 brought an opposition party to power for the first time[...]
the U.S. Embassy in Mauritius has been responsible for Seychelles diplomacy since the pullout in 1996.[...]
Radegonde, the [Seychellois] foreign minister, said there is little doubt China is a key motive. “The U.S. coming back cannot be because we are lovely people,” he said, adding “we are.”[...]
In 2011, the United States established a secret drone base at Seychelles airport to assist with counterterrorism operations in Somalia and Yemen. [...]
The abrupt departure in 1996 once the nation no longer served U.S. interests left Seychellois feeling they had been used, and their return now, at a time of heightened competition with a different rival, gives rise to suspicions they are being used again, many Seychellois say.[...]
“The sole reason the Americans are here is because it’s seen as an opportunity to outmaneuver the Chinese,” said Ralph Volcere, who publishes the Seychelles Independent newsletter and says he’s glad the Americans are coming back. But he’s wary too, and suspicious of American motives. Closing the embassy damaged perceptions of the United States, and Washington will have to work hard to convince Seychellois that their motives are genuine, he said. “The Chinese came to build schools and houses, and the Americans are coming for naval operations,” he said. “The Americans can’t just come here and put warships in the port and people will be happy.”[...]
And what will happen if the rivalry with China is resolved? Will the Americans leave again? wondered Danny Faure, the former president who lost the 2020 elections to Ramkalawan. “With the United States it’s always based on how they respond to geopolitical concerns,” he said. “This shouldn’t be a flash in the pan. If you do value the relationship, the cost shouldn’t matter.” His government had good relations with the Chinese, and he visited Beijing in 2018. He says China never asked anything in return for its largesse or sought to extract any concessions from Seychelles. “Genuinely over 40 years we have become great friends,” he said. “This won’t change whether the United States comes or goes.”

Synthetic Shorts and Financial Assumptions (NASDAQ reference)
Recorded on financial balance sheets are all sorts of assumptions based on who owns what. But, did you know that they assume they own both shorts and stock positions?
I've been putting this off because I haven't been able to figure out the relevance to the phenomenon as a *whole*. It's just kind of a novelty to me. Even right now, I'm not sure how it actually matters, unless those specific records are assumptions traded off market.
Dark Pools are just stock market pools off the main market. Like getting paid under the table. And they do that simply because it's cheaper and faster than doing it on the actual market. Although one *could* alleged price manipulation as a reason to keep it off market.
What's important about Dark Pools is simply that they are cheaper and faster than the *real thing*. Even though experts say that "it's impossible to speed up.
So how it works is that a "put" becomes a short. Since this is a guaranteed payday, it is also assumed that the holder (if that holder is a financial expert bank or hedge fund) will just execute it, because they can probably make money it no matter what. *Probably*.
This means that a *put* on its own is a synthetic short. But that's not how it works.
A *real* "synthetic short" means that the owner holds a put, and a call. The call is to be used in the short-term. And a long put option is held for the long term.
A *synthetic stock* is the opposite of that.
What this means is that the owners of the paired stock options have the equivalent of the "real thing". When it really means the opposite of what they have. (Or will soon have.)
It's not very technical, it's rock stupid. It's so stupid it sounds technical because you can't believe it's a real thing that real financial assumptions are based on.
After the first option is used, then a synthetic stock owner owns a Short position with a call option. (They're hedging their bets against what happens if the price skyrockets, then they only have to pay what it says on the call option)
Or if a synthetic short owner owns a Stock, and an option to sell at big money when the market deflates.(but since they have the stock on hand, they don't have to pay for the short.)
Where it gets complicated and technical is when those financial assumptions are traded between other companies, banks, and hedgefunds.
I could find one paper from Singapore; Written by Jianfeng Hu, Titled: "Is synthetic stock price really lower". Stuck in the Google buffer.
If I understand Jianfeng's conclusion, more or less; The market has a situation where synthetics are treated as equivalent in price. Because of this; I assume that the synthetics cause inflation of the stock itself as both stock and synthetic stock are traded as real stock.
Which means that a synthetic short is treated as real stock held (because they hold the stock, and a synthetic stock is treated as real stock held, based on the financial assumption that they will have the stock in the future.
The reason a synthetic short can be treated that way is because the put holder has the option to trade the put to a different entity, and thus the *synthetic* short is broken into just a *put*.
Jianfeng's article suggests that this is true for 95% of stock traded in the stock market. So based on that assumption, I assume that my assumption is also correct for 95% of the stock market.
And thus, the idea that *puts* are the only piece of the "synthetic short that makes it a synthetic short" because buying a new call option immediately turns that synthetic short, into a synthetic stock.
And that can be traded in the dark pools as if it were a real stock.
Which means some serious "put" is about to be "called" out.
