Every millisecond of the drive back to campus was torturous. At times, you felt like your throat was closing up. You had to sit on your hand to stop it from cracking a window open.
You think you might’ve experienced your first ever anxiety attack.
All Jungkook’s genuine attempts at holding a conversation with you were shot down mercilessly.
It was almost as if all the admiration you had for him turned into pure hatred for a moment.
Terrified that you would break down in front of the man whom you supposedly creep out, you kept your mouth shut the entire time.
You’re thankful for the timing of the universe. Had you proceeded to confess your feelings to him, you’d have humiliated yourself to death. You’d have had to dig yourself a hole and bury your head in it for a really long time. Or hibernate in the blast chiller like a stupid little snail.
Even if you had a minuscule percentage of a chance with Jungkook, Jia has destroyed it all by telling him about ‘your’ crush.
Although he didn’t seem to have recognised you as the ‘creep’, you can’t help but wonder. What if he knew about you? Maybe he didn’t recognise you without makeup? Maybe he panicked when he realised it was you.
What do you know about Jia really?
After unsuccessfully starting a conversation with you, Jungkook was staring a hole into his phone. He knows he has made you uncomfortable. But, which part of whatever he said did the trick?
He panicked. Jungkook wasn’t supposed to tell you (or anyone) about him and Jia, as per Jia’s desperate request. While he respected it, he wondered why. On pushing her for a legitimate answer, she finally told him about the ‘creep with a schoolgirl crush’ and how she was friends with said ‘creep’ and didn’t want to be in her bad books.
Albeit strange, Jungkook assumed it was dangerous for Jia to be publicly known as his girlfriend. He thought that maybe it’d have put a target on her back.
He didn’t mean to blurt it all out in front of you. It was like his mouth had a mind of its own. He couldn’t stop himself from spilling the beans. And then he made it worse by indirectly calling you a creep. He did take it back, but it must’ve been uncomfortable for you regardless.
And maybe that’s why you won’t respond to his attempts to chat.
He really didn’t want to burden you but he has to let you know--- “You know, it’s a relief to finally tell someone about Jia.”
“Hm?” You abruptly turned your head sideways to face him.
“Jia. It feels good to be able to talk to someone about the girl I’m dating. We never really planned on telling anyone actually.”
‘Yeah, while you’re at that, stick a knife in my chest, why don’t you?’
“I bet it does.” You exhale with a forced smile.
Jungkook turns his body towards you, “_____.” He called out. You instinctively make eye contact with him. “Would it be too much to ask if we could keep this a secret from Jia?”
Before you could process exactly what he asked of you, you involuntarily held your breath at the thought of sharing a secret with him. Just the two of you.
And Jia.
You frown.
The thought of Jia breaks you out of your reverie. You have got to pull yourself together.
Perhaps Jungkook wasn’t too far off with the ‘creep’ thing.
“Whatever you want.” You immediately look away. Honestly, he probably could’ve gotten you to agree to shave your head if he wanted to.
“Really? It isn’t…?” Jungkook trailed off. “It’s okay. It’ll be as if we never met.” You assure him.
Just how far is your stupid university? It feels like forever since you got into the car with him.
“Except we have met before.” He interjects. You don’t know if he’s referring to your very first meeting at the party or the other times you’ve ‘met’ in the classes you share. Either way, Jia knows about it all.
“We sure have. But she doesn’t have to know that. If that’s what you want.” You add, “I don’t want to cause any problems for you. Just tell me what to do and I won’t question it.” With that you aim your eyes straight ahead, focusing them on the back of the passenger seat.
So much for staying grounded. You have GOT to chill. You’re worried you’ll blow your cover.
Jungkook unexpectedly laughs, “Okay. I don’t want to complicate it too much.”
“Jia doesn’t want people to know about us. And I don’t want to lose her trust. So… maybe---”
Your mouth automatically forms a pout. You really don’t want to witness his devotion to her.
“You know what, I’ll handle it. I’ll talk to her and admit I slipped up...” Jungkook waits for your reaction, but you give him nothing.
Now, you begin to feel badly about the way you’ve been acting towards him. He has done nothing to deserve your hot and cold attitude.
Jungkook has been kind to you. He complimented you, confided in you, gave you his jacket, and offered you a ride. The least you can do is not make stuff so difficult for him.
You remind yourself that your issue is with Jia and not Jungkook.
“If you’re that worried, we don’t have to mention this to her.” You meekly add.
“I was thinking maybe I should just tell her. Wouldn’t that be easier for you too?” Hah! You’d think.
You’re about to counter when the driver interrupts, “Non-faculty vehicles aren’t allowed to go any further than this. Is it okay if I dop you kids off here?”
Neither of you had noticed that you’d reached a few minutes ago. Your driver was kind enough to allow you to resolve your dilemma.
Your dorm was a ten-minute walk from the gate. “This is good.” You kindly smile at him.
The driver eyes you from the rear-view mirror, “This is none of my business but from experience, I can tell you that nothing good ever comes out of secrets and lies. No matter how big or small, shit gets messy.”
You and Jungkook share a look and thank your driver.
“I’ll tell her tomorrow.” He nods once, mostly to himself.
The two of you exit the vehicle together.
Something still bothered you. You swore you had a really great time with Jungkook at the freshmen mixer where you were first introduced to each other. Does he not remember you from then at all?
It’d be embarrassing if he didn’t.
What kills you the most is how you stupidly built your crush up in your head. It was just supposed to be just a fun thing for yourself, but honestly, you’re having trouble standing right now.
“Can I walk you to your room?” Jungkook interrupts your chain of thoughts.
Originally, you planned to run away from him as soon as you reached campus, but curiosity pushes your nervousness away. So, you agree to walk with him.
The first few minutes of your walk are spent in silence. It wasn’t pleasant, it was forced and awkward. Even small talk couldn’t have helped it.
Most of your life was planned. You liked having control over the situations you put yourself in. You like knowing what was going to happen the next day. You liked to organise everything. This tension and feelings of uncertainty threw you way off.
You could not bear not knowing. Still, you manage to keep your cool and fake nonchalance. This is only as big as you make it out to be.
At least now you know you wouldn’t need to buy an extra juice box tomorrow.
You made sure to reassure Jungkook that he wouldn’t get into trouble and that he wouldn’t have to worry about you talking to people about it. But, you could feel the discomfort he basically emitted from his speech to his body language.
Unconvinced that he heard you out, you tell him again. “Just so you know, you don’t have to butter me up or anything. If Jia doesn’t want your news out, so be it. I won’t tell a soul.” Because, that’d be super embarrassing for me as well. But you left that out.
Jungkook visible relaxed, with slouched shoulders and an exhale of relief, he turns to you. “Oh, thank goodness. I was hoping to keep this between us. I know it’s a pussy move, I just don’t want-“
“I already told you, it’s OK.” You abruptly cut him off, impatient because you couldn’t hear him get started on liking and respecting Jia, and disappointing Jia, and protecting Jia, or whatever was going on with the pair.
You were a little hurt when he reacted the way he did. Somewhere, you wanted him to admit he was walking you home because he cared about you or found you inciting enough to spend time with.
Why would he care? You’re actually nobody to him. You’re Jia’s _____.
(And he’s Jia’s Jungkook lol)
You continue, “I genuinely do not care.” A lie.
Jungkook stares at you with big stupid eyes. You almost feel bad for him. You know you’re confusing the fuck out of him with your hot and cold behaviour.
“You know what? I forgot I had to see the course counsellor. That’s like, in the other direction.”
Your sad excuse for an escape was welcomed by Jungkook.
“Oh! My dorm’s the opposite to that… building.” He wanted to get away from you just as much as you him. Well, that doesn’t hurt at all.
:D :D :D
I mean, you were doing the same thing to him but your reason was totally different. So, that doesn’t count.
The two of you stopped in the middle of the cold path. “So, okay.” He started, “I’ll see you around?”
“Yeah! See you!” You faked enthusiasm.
After a two second lag, you both awkwardly shuffle around each other.
“Bye!” You abruptly brisk walk in the direction of your dormitory, the very direction you weren’t supposed to be heading to.
Jungkook stands dumbfounded with his hand midway in the air. In fact, he had no clue you were trying to avoid him. He really meant that his dorm was opposite to the counsellor’s office.
Still, he doesn’t think too much of it.
Jungkook checks his phone to see a few text messages from his girlfriend, asking him about his plans for the week.
He promptly cleared his evenings for Jia and continued walking away from the spot you both stood at.
Later that night, while he FaceTimed her, he kept going back to the moment you greeted him. For some reason, he couldn’t stop thinking about you; as one would after such an awkward interaction.
Jungkook sneakily prods. “Babe, that friend you keep talking about?”
Unsuspectingly, Jia instantly says your name. “_____?”
“Hm…” He affirms.
After a few seconds of silence from Jungkook’s side, Jia irritably bit her inner cheek.
“What about _____?” She pushes.
“Oh, sorry- lost connection. I was saying I met her today.”
“What do you mean? What for?” Jia’s brain starts creating all the scenarios she was afraid would take place.
“We were stranded at the bus stand so we hitched a cab ride together...” Jungkook trails off as if he’s in deep thought.
“Did she do anything to make you uncomfortable?” She asks, worried.
“No, it wasn’t like that. I offered. I think I might’ve made her uncomfortable.”
Now, Jia was impatient, “Can you tell me what happened exactly? What did she say to you?”
Now, Jungkook was a little taken aback.
“Babe. You know I really like you, right?” Jungkook begins.
Jia pouts, “Where is this going?”
“Just…” Jungkook opened his mouth, deliberately delaying the conversation.
“Kook… something happened?” Jia involuntarily rubs up and down her arms.
He blurts, “I may or may not have told her about us. BUT, but-” – “YOU WHAT?”
Jungkook looks at his screen with wide eyes, “But I only let it slip because I thought you told her. She even said she didn’t care enough to tell anyone.”
“Oh? She said that?” Jia’s brows furrowed, both in concern and anger. Jungkook reads her expression and sighs. “She didn’t say it like that.” He repeats.
“No wonder she hasn’t responded to my texts yet. She’s supposed to fucking proofread my assignment for tomorrow. I’m so screwed.” Jia exasperates. Jungkook tilts his head. Has he really messed up? “I’m sorry, baby. Is it so bad I told her? What’s wrong with her knowing?”
Jia shook her head.
“Jungkook, GOD I wish you were with me. I’m so tense I think I need to be fucked so I can forget this ever happened.”
Jungkook smirked, “Well… I don’t have to be physically present with you to make you lose your mind.”
Jia’s mouth drops open a little. She thinks she might just start drooling at the sound of his voice.
“Now where is that Bluetooth controlled-” – “It’s already on me.” She blurts, knowing exactly what he’s about to do to her.
“Oh? Wow, my girl is so naughty. Is this what you wanted from me tonight?”
And, then you were long forgotten.
Well, until later that same night.
Before dozing off, he spent the remaining of his day replaying what had happened. He thought about the way your mood dropped after getting into the taxi and the way your eyes wandered everywhere but to him. He doesn’t know if you realised it, but you muttered a lot of words under your breath. Some of them being loud enough for him to hear.
Jungkook’s thoughts were zeroed in on you.
His mind went in and out of so many black holes, that he even thought of the possibility of you being what Jia tried to shield their relationship from. Even though they were all afterthoughts, one thing was for sure. You had caught his attention.

(Y/n) didn't stiffen nor did she freeze. instead her body softened and relax at the loving touch of the individual that held her close so tenderly. Her hands moved up to come into contact with hands that were wrapped in bandages and in leather.
She didn't mind. As long as he was there.
"You came to see me again…?" (Y/n) softly whispered.
"Tell me, what should I call you, O man who has forsaken his name…?" she asked again, her right hand then going up to caress the dark bangs that covered his bowed face like a curtain.
"Blade." the man responded, his hand moving to take hers into his bandaged own
"I just…had to see you again. But I am sure it's the last." Blade responded, letting go of (Y/n). But his hands never left her, as they tenderly reached to hold hers. Though covered with cloth and glove, warmth seemed to seep through those barriers, coming into contact with (Y/n) slender hands.
"Once again…you do not cower to the sight of me…" Blade whispered, slightly surprised. But it was welcome.
Though he was a wanted criminal. Though there was billions of credits mounted for even giving a single piece of information about him. Though he has killed and slaughtered many, (Y/n) has never felt hands safer than his own.
It was…as if her body knew him. As if her heart knew him.
Though she had forgotten all, her shattered memories being her one saving grace. She knew this man. She met this man yesterday, but it felt like she knew him.
And as she saw him in her dreams, be it that he is no longer the person he used to be, he was still a person she held dear to her heart. For both (Y/n) and Dan Jia.
The man Dan Jia loved in her memories was Yingxing. But before (Y/n) was Blade. Dan Jia and (Y/n) were two different people, as Yingxing and Blade are.
"Are you sure it is alright to be out here at this time…? What if someone catches you ? I might be able to feign ignorance, but you--" "Hush, my dancer, speak no more." the man said, placing a gloved finger by her lips. Then he, moved a finger to tilt her head up.
"Our encounter tonight will be brief, and meaningful. But I must go soon." Blade whispered, his hand moving to caress her cheek tenderly, letting go of her from his tight hold, but still holding her hand.
He felt…proud. That even (Y/n) had lost her memories, and was slowly coming to terms with them, she still welcomed him warmly. She wasn't scared, no. It seemed that she had a good idea of who he was.
He felt…happy.
"I wish to leave you something, as a reminder that I will always be thinking of you…" Blade said, as he released his hand from her cheek and reaching into his pocket. He opened his palm to reveal two crystal wind chime earrings, crafted with utmost care and to perfection.
"Even if I told you I refuse letting you see me again, I just…needed to leave you something, as a reminder of this monster." Blade whispered.
"W-well then…take this." (Y/n) said, handing him one of the pieces of jewelry. "You take one, and I'll have one. That way…we can both have one, right ?"
"I don't see any monster. All I see is a man with the most beautiful eyes I had ever seen. You can only be you, Blade. Not a monster, not a weapon, not a tool." She smiled at him brightly, hooking the small accessory. The small wind chime moved as (Y/n) looked up, and surprisingly she heard no sound, as the entire thing was made of stiff glass.
"Yingxing…time and time again I tell you…you are not a tool !" His heart pounded at the sight.
"(Y/n)…I depart soon. But before that…may I do something…?" Blade asked (Y/n).
(Y/n) nodded, the earring moving as she nodded her head. Though she wasn't ready for what he requested of her. But he didn't care.
With those words in mind, Blade immediately went to hold her chin with his thumb and index finger, and leaned in. His chapped lips were met with soft and cold ones, colder than the ones in his memories.
In that moment their hearts beat wildly in unison, as they stood together beneath the moon. He knew this was a bad thing to do, how selfish he was, how he was tainting this pure princess who has done nothing wrong, how he felt like he was corrupting her with his plagued body.
But he regretted nothing.
With the hands that went to his chest, pulling at his shirt, lips that kissed back, it seemed that it wasn't only him that had been dreaming of a moment so pure. The shoulders of the woman he held dear relaxed as she had moved on from the initial shock.
It felt so right…
He pulled back from the kiss, puffs of hot breath escaping his lips, mingling with (Y/n)'s own. Half lidded (e/c) eyes gazed into his own, cheeks as red as the ripest apples, pink lips slightly trembling as she panted.
But the tears that ran down her cheeks pained his heart.
He couldn't help himself. He felt his heart pound. He wanted to hug and reassure her, he wanted to comfort her, for he knew that she was confused and a little shocked, no matter how strong she seemed to be.
But time was running thin on them.
"I'll see you again if destiny allows us to reunite, my moon…"
He cupped her cheeks in his tender hands, and leaned in to place a soft kiss on her forehead. His lips were warm against her cold skin, and he stood there for a couple of seconds, (Y/n) closing her eyes to savor the moment.
As she opened her eyes, the man of the darkness was nowhere to be seen.
(Y/n) had no idea why she was crying. She herself didn't understand the reason. But then again, what did she know about herself ? What did she know of the person she was ?
But one thing for sure, it wasn't her that was crying. It was the soul in her.
"Lady (Y/n) !" a bright voice called out to her as she walked towards the plaza once again. She turned around to see a pink haired girl, one she had recognized to be as March.
"Yes ?" (Y/n) asked, turning around to see the pink-haired lady. "Is there anything you need me for ?"
The girl then took her hand, not even flinching at the coldness her icy hands were. Perhaps it was because her own hands were just as cold, but the girl's smile was way warmer and brighter contrasting her hands.
"Lady Bailu is looking for you. She told us to come find you to help her." March said, taking her hand and walking towards the plaza where the other Nameless members were waiting.
"Oh…? She sent you…? How did you find me ?" (Y/n) asked as March led her through the crowd consisting of natives, foxians and vidyadharas.
"It's not that hard to find you, silly ! With clothes of a princess, silky (h/c) hair and horns ? It's quite hard to miss you !" March said with a gleeful smile as they began to approach the little girl who was talking to the soldiers who were lying on the ground.
"Ah, Lady (Y/n) !" Bailu said happily, looking up at (Y/n) with her aqua eyes. (Y/n) could see the amazement and excitement in those eyes. Bailu then came to (Y/n) and took her hand, leading her towards the fallen soldiers.
As her eyes lingered on the infected knight, her ears picked up on the chatter between another doctor from the alchemy commission and Jingyan, the Vidyadhara she met a few times.
"That's…the best I can do…" the doctor said, standing up after injecting some elixir into the Mara-struck soldier laying down on the stretcher.
"Tsk ! And what's that supposed to mean ? Doctors don't give up that easily !" Jingyan protested, looking at the doctor incredulously. But the doctor sigh and shook her head.
"What else am I supposed to do ? The route back to the Alchemy Commission has disappeared, and we're in the field without the right medicine or supplies." the doctor tried to reason with Jingyan.
"Besides, we have no record of this disease at all. These symptoms are consistent with someone about to be stricken with mara--" "According to his medical record, this man is barely over 200 years old — he only just joined the Cloud Knights. How can he possibly be mara-struck? Why don't you… take another look."
The doctor sighed and crouched down again, trying to find any other anomality though it seemed quite futile from her behalf. Jingyan bit her lip as she looked at the soldier and the others surrounding the plaza. "If it goes on like this, the judges of the Ten-Lords Commission will have to come out and clean up this mess."
Then she glanced to (Y/n) who was with Bailu. "I saw the Vidyadhara dragon lady is here and Lady (Y/n). Maybe she can help stem the tide…"
"These symptoms…" (Y/n) said, trying to wrack her mind with memories, only to be met with nothing at all. But they seemed a little…odd to her. Was Mara supposed to strike this fast and this aggressive…?
"Yes, the Mara symptom these days are more extreme…" Bailu said sadly, looking down at the inflicted with pain in her little young heart.
"I can…try slow down the symptoms…" (Y/n) said, looking at Bailu. And Bailu's eyes lit up almost immediately and quickly made way for (Y/n) to get closer.
(Y/n) held out her hands, the palms hovering on top of the chest of the inflicted. She tried, but she really wasn't sure what the heck she was doing at this point. But she had to try.
She concentrated, closing her eyes and trying to focus. She felt her cold powers surge through her hands and she was able to feel the energy emitted by the individual laying before her.
It was…minimal…and contaminated. It felt as if there was a black mist surrounding the body of the soldier. But…she couldn't find the core of where it stemmed from.
But as she traced again…
"There are multiple spores in his body. That's why the Mara's spreading so aggressively." (Y/n) said, opening her eyes. No wonder she couldn't trace it. There was more than one root in the body that triggered the Mara faster than usual.
"S-spores ? How did those appear ?" Bailu asked, panic surging in her. She wasn't exposed to such sights, thus making healing a tad too hard for her.
"I'm not sure." (Y/n) said, her pretty lips turning into a frown and eyebrows furrowing. "But I'll try sealing them."
With her instincts and her insight, she managed to locate all the spores and place her fingers on the spots sharply and swiftly, letting her ice internally wrap around the spore and reduce the production of the mist. One down…and seven more to go…
"I've slowed down the progress of Mara symptoms in all the knights>" (Y/n) said, getting up from her position and looked at all the other Mara-struck she had tended to. Her body felt weak and tired. She wasn't used to exerting much energy and power.
Unlike when fighting with Yanqing, she was tired physically. But this really took out the power of her internal knowledge and frozen memories. Perhaps Dan Jia really could do something like this in the past…or maybe even more.
"That…that's so cool, Lady (Y/n) !" Bailu exclaimed, looking up at (Y/n) with wonder in her eyes. Then she looked at her own hands. "Maybe…if I had ice powers like you, I could learn it from you…"
(Y/n) couldn't stand a child looking so sad. Such a young child, being subjected with all the responsibilities and being restricted of her freedom. Did...Dan Jia have to go through this as well ?
Without realizing, (Y/n) had raised a hand and placed itself on Bailu's head, softly petting Bailu's purple hair. She couldn't help but want to comfort this little child before her.
"You'll be able to find a talent unique to you someday. I'm sure of it. You may not see it now, but I sense great potential from you." (Y/n) said, giving the child a small smile.
Bailu looked up at her brightly, awe in her child eyes. Then she nodded. "Perhaps then...I could cure Mara..."
Cure Mara...?
That sent (Y/n) thinking.
She had the power to slow down Mara. Could she possibly stop Mara from spreading by freezing those cores ? What else was Dan Jia capable of...?
Maybe she could stop the Mara from spreading in him.
In the man with eyes as red as spider lilies. An expression as cold as dead. But the lips as warm as fire...
Oh Aeons, she had forgotten all about their little intimate actions in the alleyway ! She was so distracted and wrapped up with things around her, she hadn't had the time to properly process and take in things !
But now that she thought about it...
His lips were cold but felt so warm against hers.
And they were so...soft...
"Lady (Y/n) ? You alright ?" (Y/n) heard and snapped out of her trance and looked at Bailu.
"Y-yes ? Is something the matter ?" (Y/n) asked the dragon lady next to her.
"Your face is red. Did you use up too much energy ? Do you need to rest ?" Bailu asked worriedly, her tone notching up one level as she reached closer to (Y/n). "M-maybe you should get something to drink or eat ! Something with high sugar to help you regain your energy."
"N-no, no. I'm really okay. Just a little tired."
Bailu dragged (Y/n) off to some food vendors as (Y/n)'s heart raced in her chest. her face was incredibly red and she was sweating. Bailu was scared that (Y/n) might've gotten a fever from using up too much energy.
"Here...lets get some Tuskpir wraps and sit down for a moment. The Astral Express team went to follow the Realm-Keeping Commission guys, and I cant go back to the Alchemy Commission just yet." Bailu said as she dragged (Y/n) along the plaza.
"And maybe I can try help you with you amnesia." the little girl whispered softly.
"Yeah..."
And maybe (Y/n) can help him as she subconsciously reached to touch the earring that dangled from her pointed ear, the pair being in another hand.

Jia hummed as she made her way around the kitchen. It was the morning after exchanging numbers with Bada and sadly, they both didn't know what to text each other first.
Footsteps were heard trudging down the stairs and hall before the sleepy figure of Laura appeared in the kitchen walkway. She settled onto a chair by the kitchen table and loudly yawned. Jia glanced at her sister before continuing to make the two breakfast.
She peeked at her phone on the counter a couple of times—well, multiple—as she worked. No texts or messages from Bada had appeared yet. Jia slightly frowned before plating the breakfast. By this time, Laura had taken out two small boxes of coffee milk and moved to the dining table.
Jia brought the breakfasts over and set them in front of their seats. Laura thanked her before taking a bite. She watched as Jia glanced at her phone for another time and then sipped the coffee milk. Laura squinted at her sister and slightly leaned closer, drawing Jia’s attention to the girl.
“…Yes?” Jia asked with furrowed brows, starting her breakfast. “Why do you keep doing that?” Laura took a sip of her coffee milk before folding her hands. “Doing what?” The older sister questioned back as she continued eating her breakfast.
“Checking your phone every five seconds.” Laura immediately responded, signaling toward the device on the table. Jia’s eyes widened a little before returning to normal, flickering between her sister and her phone. “Oh, no big reason. Just waiting for a text.” Jia shrugged, looking down at her food and she continued eating.
Laura took a long sip of her milk before tsking. “I’m gonna call bullshit on this one. You don't even check your phone this much when waiting for work calls.” Jia rolled her eyes at her sister’s remark and scoffed.
“Just so you know you're completely wrong. I check my phone a decent amount of times for work calls.” Laura hummed in uncertainty and made a face before being shushed by Jia.
“But, fine… I’ll tell you. See, I'm not actually lying because I am waiting for a text.” Jia started, taking a moment to sip on the milk to try and conceal the budding smile that was ready to overtake her face.
Laura motioned her to continue, already pulling her legs onto her seat in anticipation. “I met this girl at YGX yesterday-” She was cut off by a scream from Laura who started clapping. A smile took over Jia’s features as she laughed and motioned for Laura to quiet down.
“Tell me more, I need to know more!” Jia ran her fingers through her hair, thinking back on the evening before. “She’s probably one of the most beautiful women—scratch that—beautiful human beings I’ve met in a long time. Her smile was so pretty, her laugh, when she danced…” Jia covered her flushed face silently screaming at herself to get a grip.
This caused more screams to be heard from the younger as she began to tease her sister. “How are you crushing this hard after just meeting her?” Jia removed one hand to wave off her sister before continuing on her rant.
“But at first I didn't get the chance to get her number, right? Hours later, guess who shows up at my practice room door?” Laura’s jaw dropped and she lightly tapped her table. “No way.” “That's what I was thinking. But then, she asked me for my number.” Laura shook her head in astonishment to which Jia nodded back with a laugh.
“She made me giggle. Giggle, Laura.” Jia stressed, slightly embarrassed after thinking about it. “How do you act like a dumbass and still pull? I don't even want to be like you, I need to be like you.” Laura confirmed with a nod causing Jia to deeply sigh and prop her hand against her forehead.
“I think I messed up my chances a bit though. I said I wanted to be friends.” Jia winced and closed her eyes, shaking her head. Should she have been more direct in her efforts? “Honestly, I think it's a good thing you said that. Get to know each other first, you know?” Laura truthfully examined the situation before nodding.
Jia raised her head and nodded in agreement. The two sisters finished up their breakfast before continuing their morning routines.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
Since Laura was spending the day filming at home, Jia didn’t need to prep Kija, their sphynx cat, for a day at home alone. Jia took this opportunity to get an early start to her day. It was currently 8 am and her first class began at 10 so she decided to go on a quick grocery trip beforehand.
Exiting the apartment, she locked the door before moving to the elevator. Once she left the complex, she walked to the nearest grocery store and initiated her journey through the aisles. Jia was about to call Laura when she saw the notifications that slid onto her screen.
No, it wasn't that Bada texted her, but it was that she followed her on instagram, twitter, and tiktok. A gasp left her mouth before she slowly covered her mouth. She made sure the aisle was clear before fist-pumping and hopping.
Regaining her composure, Jia cleared her throat before moving down the aisle, adding a couple of items in when necessary. After she paid at the register, she walked back outside and pulled her phone out of her pocket.
Jia stared down at her phone again before looking up, and biting down a smile. With a quick breath, she followed Bada back on the three apps. Almost instantly, Jia put her phone back in her pocket and walked home.
Did she follow back too quickly? The thought loomed around the girl’s head, causing her to sigh before shifting her focus back to the trek home.
Once she reached the apartment, she placed the groceries in their respective areas, hugged Kija on the way to the door, and made sure to bring her car keys and dance bag.
Jia crossed the street and strolled over to her car. She placed the dance bag in the passenger seat before running over to the other side and hopping in the driver’s seat.
Today, she was spending most of the day at 1Million Dance Studio. She had 4 classes in total, three that she would teach and one that she would attend, which Jia knew meant it would be an easier day.
When she reached 1Million, Jia saw the digital clock read 9:15 a.m. This meant she had a little less than an hour to spare so she started scrolling through her tiktok for you page.
She liked and reposted a couple videos before deciding it would be best to head in early. Jia grabbed her possessions before leaving the car and walking toward the entrance.
It's been a little less than a month since she taught a class at 1Million, but when one of her favorites, Lia Kim, asked her to lead a class, she couldn't turn her down. One of the artists Jia’s most recently worked with was a new girl group called Kiss Of Life.
She loved the group’s vision and happily accepted when asked to choreograph a couple of dances for them. Today, she would teach her students the choreography of Sugarcoat by Natty.
Jia swung the bag over her shoulder once she reached the receptionist. She politely greeted her as she signed in before moving through the familiar hallways. Passing a few familiar faces, Jia entered the restroom.
She walked towards one of the sinks and washed her hands before reapplying her lipgloss. Jia examined her outfit in the mirror before putting her lipgloss in her bag.
The door to the bathroom opened but Jia didn't pay attention as she wiped around her lips. “Jia!” The mentioned girl pivoted toward the noise and a smile arose almost instantly.
“Oh my gosh! You guys almost gave me a heart attack!” Jia held a hand over her heart while she laughed. The two girls rolled their eyes with smiles as they made their way toward Jia.
They engulfed her in a group hug, squeezing her tightly. “It's so good to see you. I was stalking your Instagram and why have you basically only been dancing at YGX?” Redy jokingly quizzed the girl, pulling away from the hug and crossing her arms.
“My queen Leejung has kept me captive. But don't worry, you'll be seeing me more often.” Jia dramatically said before adjustng the bag on her arm. Debby patted her shoulder and shook her head.
“How come you didn't tell me you were having a class today? Also, why did I have to find out through Redy that you were coming to one of my classes?” Debby playfully squinted her eyes at the girl and mimicked Redy’s cross-armed position.
“I wanted to surprise you. You know I love you guys, you're like my 1Million babes.” Jia said with a pout, linking her arms around her two friend’s shoulders.
They laughed and set their heads on her shoulders. “I know I missed you and all, but please release me before I pee my pants. That's the reason we came here.” Redy spoke up, causing more laughs to erupt as the three unlinked, watching her run to a stall.
“I missed you guys. Please stop by one of my classes.” Jia said loud enough so Redy could also hear before waving goodbye as she exited the restroom.
Continuing her trek down the halls, stopping at times to greet familiar faces, she reached her dance class and saw that some students were already waiting outside. She looked down at the time, it reading 9:48, before looking back up and giving the students an impressed expression.
Jia entered and dropped her bag at the front of the room. She reviewed the dance until it was less than five minutes from the class’s start time, making sure to cut down the mistakes she might make while teaching.
Once she was done, Jia opened the door for the early students and greeted them as they arrived.
· · ─────── ·𖥸· ─────── · ·
Jia finished both her own class and Debby’s, so she decided to congratulate herself by taking her lunch break. It was a little after 2:00 and Jia exited the studio. She looked down at her phone and saw she accidentally left it on do not disturb for the duration of both classes and the 20-minute break in between.
She mentally winced as she saw the notifications roll in. Luckily, none of them seemed to be from her agency nor her work email. Jia reached her car and unlocked the door, climbing into the driver's seat before tossing her bag on the passenger seat.
The girl inserted the key into the ignition but didn't ignite it, silently scrolling through her notifications. Her eyes widened when she saw the multiple message notifications from a certain taller dancer.
Without another thought, she unlocked her phone and opened the messages. What she was met with warmed her heart.

Meanwhile, during the moments leading up to that text back, things were a bit more chaotic on Bada’s side. Although she had a class she was teaching after texting Jia, the girl was slowly taking over her thoughts.
During the water breaks she found herself checking her phone a bunch. It honestly was a miracle she got through the full class without slipping up.

Jia set her phone on the stand in her car. She looked into the mirror and fixed her hair a bit before she heard the ringing of her phone. She looked down at the incoming call and took a deep breath.
The girl waited a few moments before accepting the call. She leaned back in her seat and smiled when she saw Bada’s face pop up on screen. “Hey, you.” Bada teasingly said with a smile, propping her phone against her bag.
The girl on the other end could tell Bada was in a studio at Just Jerk by the wall behind her. “Hey, how have your classes been?” Jia asked as she ignited her engine. “They’ve been pretty fun! I taught some old and new choreo. What about you?”
Jia sighed with a smile, pulling out of her parking space and heading onto the road. “Mine are good so far, I taught a class and went to my friend’s class. I think you might know her.”
Jia’s eyebrows furrowed in slight thought before she turned a corner, glancing at the girl on the other end of the line. Bada wore a slightly confused expression before taking a sip of water. “I might, what's her name?”
As Jia approached a red light, she subconsciously leaned back in her seat and rested an arm on the center console. “Debby. She teaches at 1Million.” Bada’s eyes widened and she “ohed” in confirmation.
“Yeah, I know Debby! This makes a lot more sense why she- nevermind. Where are you going?” Bada changed the subject, not wanting to mention the series of replies from Redy and Debby to the girl.
Jia raised an eyebrow and glanced at Bada before brushing it off and answering the question. “Whenever I'm at 1Million, I usually go to this cafe not too far and get lunch.” The dancer explained, resting her head against the headrest and sighing at how long the red light was.
She noticed Bada move her face from the camera’s view and furrowed her eyebrows. “What's wrong?” “Nothing!” Bada quickly responded and after a couple of seconds, put her face back in the camera’s view.
On the other end, Jia shook her head with a smile before sitting up once the light turned green. “How long is your break?” Jia questioned, glancing at Bada as she lightly pressed the gas pedal.
“I don't have a class for the next 40 minutes,” Bada responded, causing Jia to hum before switching lanes. “That's good to hear,” Jia said with a smile that spread across the line onto Bada’s face.
“Are you sure I'm not bothering you while you're driving?” Bada randomly asked and Jia finally pulled into a parking spot by the cafe. “Of course not! Honestly, I like having you on the phone when I'm driving. You're like my virtual passenger princess.” Jia teasingly admits, looking anywhere but at her phone when she talked.
Risking a peek at Bada, she saw the girl hold a bashful grin, her cheeks reddened as she dipped from the frame. Once she returned, Jia leaned on the steering wheel and brought her face closer to her phone, deciding to spare the girl and not bring up her reaction.
“So Bada Lee, did you eat lunch yet?” The mentioned girl nodded, mimicking Jia’s movements and bringing her face closer to the camera. “Yes, I did Jia Mei Yu, a couple of hours ago.” Jia flippantly frowned before pushing off of the wheel and sighing.
“Well, I guess you'll just have to watch me eat.” The girl said with fake sadness and unbuckled her seatbelt. She pulled out her wallet and headphones from her dance bag and removed her phone from its stand.
Before exiting the car, she put on her headphones and connected it to her phone. Jia talked to Bada for almost the full duration of her time in the cafe, only directing her attention away from the girl when she talked to the employees.
Whenever Bada talked, Jia easily directed her concentration to her. She's a very active listener in general, but especially when it comes to Bada. She hung on each word Bada said, responding and commenting on some of her remarks.
When Jia talked, Bada couldn't take her eyes off the screen. Any sounds from the other rooms near her landed on deaf ears. All her attention was focused on the girl who lit up her screen.
She didn't know how Jia was able to absorb all of her attention without even being physically present. She nodded along to the girl’s statements and laughed at her jokes, even if they weren't always that funny.
The two grew closer together, staying true to their words on becoming friends. Although, at the back of their minds, they both hoped for something more.

Damn.
-
Seulgi had decided to go with Yeri to the TWICE dorms. They went mainly cause she knew the maknae wanted to see Nayeon and Chaeyoung but also because Seulgi was curious about a specific member.
She remembers when they first met at the SM building. The girl was amazing in SM rookies for her Vocals as well as her rap skills. She was close with Joy as well. A few months later before Seulgi could find out more about her she disappeared.
Well not disappeared but she left SM, it wasn’t until Joy had got her into watching the survival show SIXTEEN did she see her again. It was like she did a full 180 of how she looked. She was barely recognizable.
Now here she was, sitting in the living room, as her youngest member seemed to be in a funny conversation with Chaeyoung. Seulgi was quiet as she listened.
“Hey Chae. Sooyoung wanted me to ask you something.” A voice said making Seulgi look up.
Damn.
It was her. The girl Joy was best friends with, the girl who used to be in SM, the girl whose voice was like honey and had a raspy voice when she rapped. The girl who had the power to make everyone look at her with just the way she walks, the girl who looked way different from SIXTEEN. Almost as if she went through another change.
Damn.
That was all Seulgi could think. Her hair was currently a ginger blonde, which was different from her usual black hair. It wasn’t long but it also wasn’t too short, stopping right at her chest highlighting her gorgeous features. The way her body looked made Seulgi see stars, she looked different than the girl who was in the TT music video.
Her voice deeper than Seulgi had thought, raspy almost. She noticed a small tattoo that was on her stomach. It looked to be a small spider? Seulgi couldn’t tell but she knew wanted to run her fingers down her waist pulling her closer to her.
She didn’t even notice that it was just her and the girl in the living room now. She snapped out of it when the girl spoke again. “Seulgi right? I remember you. Joy’s other member.” Seulgi ran her tongue over her teeth as she admired her from up close. She wore a red crop top that looked to have who she thinks was spider man on it? Paired with black sweatpants. Seulgi nodded as she remembered the question she had asked. “I liked how you looked in your last music video. You guys did good.” She seemed to be so relaxed around Seulgi as if they’ve known each other for years.
Damn.
Seulgi rested her hand on the girls thigh making the girl look down and then back up at Seulgi. “You look different from when I last saw you. Back when you were in SM rookies…you caught my attention more than everyone.” She leaned closer making the girl blush slightly as she looked at her. The girl brushed her fingers over Seulgi’s cheek almost making Seulgi’s confident persona falter. Almost.
“I know. Tell me…..how long have you thought about me?” The girl moves closer to Seulgi’s lips to where Seulgi could feel her breath on them. Seulgi bit her lip slightly as she glanced from her eyes to her lips. “A lot…mainly after you went on SIXTEEN and the Ooh Ah music video…you’re Korean is amazing despite you living in China for so long.” the girl smiled as she almost closed the distance between them, she got up before they even got a chance to kiss. “Ask Joy for my number…you’re interesting.”
Damn.
Before Seulgi could respond, the girl left the room leaving Seulgi there a bit dumbfounded. Yeri came back in this time with Nayeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung. Seulgi was quiet as she listen to the 3 girls conversation. She made sure to get the girls name from Jihyo before she left. “That’s just Jia! Or if you wanna use her real name Jiyoung.”
Jiyoung a pretty name for an even more gorgeous girl and the stage name Jia sounded innocent almost as if to mask the girls flirty nature.
When she got back to the dorm she got Jia’s number from Joy and texted her.
“Meet up with me after my photoshoot tomorrow?”
She stared at her phone desperate for a response as she saw the 3 bubbles indicating she was typing.
“Sure.”
Seulgi couldn’t help but smile to herself.
Damn.
Who knew that Jia the 10th member of TWICE would be this interesting.

Merry Christmas! Hope you guys enjoy this as my gift to yall💋

So @milk-powrit asked me to draft why I didn't like GxK, to which I decide to oblige.
DISCLAIMER: Those are my personal opinions; of a fan of Monsterverse since 2014 and a nobody with any competence in analyzing media, save some common sense and maybe rudimentals??
Also I already hugely disliked Godzilla vs Kong so my discontent had a part in how I enjoyed the movie.
To conclude English is not my first langauge and even in my langauge, debate is not one of my strenght.
Spoilers alert; so skip or I kindly suggest to block the tag: Godzilla x Kong spoiler.
Let's start with the first thing: I don't enjoy how the tone of the movie shifted so drastically from Kotm to GvsK.
In this post, a youtube user explained better than me why the shifting tone felt like a downgrade. If in Godzilla (2014) Godzilla was introduced by hearing his foot stomping on the ground. It was heavy, massive, it reverbered on the glass of the airport. It felt natural, realistic. How a creature that BIG would move in the real world.
As the user said Realistic =/= Seriousness. Godzilla can be goofy. But Monsterverse!Goji was estabilished in a setting, that was the real world.
In both GvsK and in GxK Godzilla does not feels natural. Was necessary for Godzilla to evolve, to be more nimble, when already in GvsK was already moving in a way unnatural?
Or pulling the 0 gravity fight? What purpose had the evolution, if in the end it was not even necessary. Had really improved his fighting skills? They were the same, on earth and in the hollow earth.
2 reason: I've seen around posts about how media litteracy has gone bad; in some ways about people can no longer sospend their belief and calls anything a plot-hole.
But I think that one thing is suspending the belief but another is the director of the movie making the plot moving from point A to point B without telling the audience how.
For example: Suspension of belief: They had the Beast Glove ready to use, because Monarch was already working on it ✅
But why Jia is the chosen one of the day? How the Iwi in hollow earth knew of Skull island? How the shard to control Shimo works? Why Godzilla would respond to the distress call of the people who fought against him? Why Mothra has a connection to the iwi, in particular. Since in Kong: skull island there's no reference to her? How Jia flew back on Earth with Mothra, without dying for the gravitational pull?.
Not everything has to be the viewer's guess that's what I'm saying.
3 point: Shimo and Skar King are as much wasted potential as it was MechaGodzilla was in GvsK.
Skar is menacing yes, has the ability and dexterity of a formidable foe. He's vile and disgusting, oppressing his clan (let's call it that) and he's even an abusive father. All of these things: but as a villain he's really that dangerous?
He was introduced as this terrible tyrant, a danger to the world. And he wasn't even trying to go on Earth; he went up by accident basically. Because the Iwi had to play with gravity. Or should I believe him, forcing his subordinate moving rocks was to build a staircase to the upside?
And Shimo, sweet girl. She looks so horrible. Her white scales don't blend in for anything. Like she was photoshopped last minute. Her powers do damage I see. But her being presented as one or The first Titan do actually mean something to the plot, to the character? Or a simple red-herring to made her more interesting than she actually is?
Because at the end of the day SHE IS A PET!!
"Oh Kong now has found a mate, so cute". My brothers on earth, she goes on four, is used as a mount the all time and she kept panting the whole time. That's a pet, the old dog you have to force inside when it snows.
It was pretty disappointing.
Last but not least the reason I personally dislike Wingard take on the Monsterverse, which is the point you could probably throw away all my arguments, compelling or not because it's really a ME issue, who don't think no one'd agree and I don't blame anybody for it.
I HATE HOW WINGARD DECIDED TO PORTRAY GODZILLA.
I don't hold nothing over him for having Kong as his favorite. That's personal taste, I respect it.
But when it comes to at the expense of the other protagonist, it rubs me so in the wrong way.
On this point I don't know if I want to discuss it further, but boy I do have to complain on this topic.
To summarize I'm mad Godzilla doesn't get to have the same introspection and grace is allowed to Kong, knowing he can to (if you read the Dominion comic. But since they are only distributed in the US not many does. OR should care about it. Cause I'm first a supporter of the idea that if a media is not capable to give all the informations in like the Movie, you the audience should not have to pay for more. So basically the Novelitation are cool but also a scam)
That's all I had to say about it.
Hoping any of this uphere is comprehensible. If in the end I only sound like a rambling idiot I accept it. This movie is too stupid to be too mad about it.
I'll just ignore it

Bangchan x Fem Idol reader!
Warnings- fluff, Making out, hickeys, dirty talk..
Descripción- Bangchan leaves a hickey on readers neck. fans notice a hickey on Readers neck during a live!
Tumblr media
@ Chan recording studio 4:56 pm JYP company
“ chan- i really have to go jia is going to be waiting for me.” You spoke. However Chan was to busy leaving kiss down her neck to respond, finally Reader had enough and pulled Chan off. Chan pouted a little bit “ Reader.. but I miss you we haven’t seen each other in two weeks…” You sighed knowing her boyfriend was right, you had been really busy with your new comeback and it was doing really well.
You looked at Chan,and could tell he really missed you . You felt really guilty for leaving him but she didn’t want to get in trouble. “ I know channie but I’ll be back after the live, it’s just an hour I promise I’ll be back when it’s over okay?” Chan was silent but slowly nodded his head. You got off Chan lap and kissed forehead one more time. “ I’ll be back okay?” Said reader
“ See you..”responded Chan. You felt really guilty has she closed the door. You knew your boyfriend wanted to spend time with you but due to busy schedules they couldn’t. You check your phone and saw it was 5:03.’ Fuck the live started 3 minutes ago..’ you saw a bunch of text messages from her band mate jia.
Reader walked to the live room quickly, she opened the door and saw jia talking to the fans. “ Yeah I liked the food it was really good.. where reader?.. oh she went to the bathroom.” Jia responded. ‘ thank you jia I own you sooo bad’ reader thought. Reader walked in the room and sat next to jia. “ Hii guys sorry I was kinda late it never happen again” you responded. The chat filled up with ‘it’s okay’ , ‘hiii reader’ and ‘ don’t be late again.’ Just crazy and normal fandom stuff.
You looked at jia and she gave you a “really” look back.. you turned slowly to the camera and started talking about your day and what you did of course leaving Chan out of part of your talking, you also started answering questions about your comeback and your concerts. It went on like this for 25 mins.
It was started to get hot so you moved your hair back from your shoulders ( i am so sorry if you don’t have long hair.😭) The chat was normal for a sec until it blew up. You and jia looked concerned and confused you didn’t know what was happening. Finally the comments slowed down a little bit you were able to read one comment.” OMG IS THAT A HICKEY ON READERS NECK???”
Your eyes widen in shock, jia started reading the comments and turn to look at you. You heard a ding and saw you got a text for Chan. It read “ oops🙂” you were gonna kill him. So for the 25 minutes you explained to your fan that’s your burned your self with a curling iron yesterday that’s why it’s still so red. It was believable to fans because your latest Instagram post was you with wavey hair. (My curly hair people I am so sorry you guys can change that)
finally the live ended and you say your goodbyes. Once the live was off you fell back on your couch. “ reader what the heck did Chan do that?” She looked at you in a smirking way you look at her with a flat face “ of course he did, he must has did this while we’re kissing..im going to kill him..” Jia laughed.” Good luck with that I’m going out see ya” she said as she packer her things up. You waved and then got up your self to go see your boyfriend
You walked down to Chan recording room knowing he be there you knocked on the door. You heard a “come inn” you came in and looked at your boyfriend who had a smug on his face. You came in and close the door. Chan got up from his chair and pulled you over to the couch and sat you on his lap. You look at him” chan..why would you do that.”
He smiled and hugged you tight” because I missed you duh!!” You smiled back but fixed your face to serious right away” Chan I know you missed me but-“ your sentence got cut off and before you can finish it Chan started kissing you. You were suprised but gave in a few seconds later. You guys pulled back still in a daze.
“ I know I was wrong to put a hickey and not remind you before you left” he said pouting a little bit. You chuckled and grabbed your boyfriend face.” Chan I don’t care if you leave hickeys on me just let me know in advice okay?” You said smiling. Chan smiled back and answered with an okay. For the rest of the night you guys chilled and talked to each other with Chan occasionally kiss your neck and you.
That’s the end I hope someone reads it😭 it’s gonna get better when I do a lot my writing will become better so i hope this was good and okay 😭

DIE FOR YOU - chapter 5 : "fym EYE happened"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
y/n got out her seat and went out the two big doors and started walking to the bathroom. before she could make a right she felt a hand grab her wrist and push her against the wall. "hey cutie" hyunjin smirked and put his arm on the wall.
y/n quickly pushed his arm off and stepped behind him, "what the fuck hyunjin?"
"now now, no need to be mad. i just missed you" he played innocent
"and why do you miss me?" y/n crossed her arms and pursed her lips
"well, the other night at the party i felt something…but then you left" he pouted
"i dont know what you're talking about or what you felt but theres nothing between us. so drop it." she turned around and started to walk away.
hyunjin was all out of options at this point. why doesn't she want to talk to him? he had not choice but to to corner her again.
"y/n wait." he called out in his most desperate voice
y/n stopped in her tracks. why did he sound so desperate? but she was still skeptical. what if he just wants sex or something? so she continued to walk to the bathroom. leaving a confused hyunjin to stand there.
‿୨♡୧‿
hyunjin raked his hands through his bright red hair while walking back into the lecutre hall. what the fuck was that?
jisung took immediate notice of hyunjins sour attitude and whispered to him
"yo dude, whats wrong?"
"nothing. pay attention to ms choi." hyunjin wanted to be alone right now, so he packed up his stuff and left. leaving his friends confused.
while y/n was walking back to class from the bathroom she saw hyunjin walking out. why was he walking out? did class end already? so she decided to ask him.
"hey uhhh is class over?" she stopped him a few feet from the door.
hyunjin glared at her for a few seconds then responded no in a bitter tone. that made her even more confused, why is he walking out and why is he so mad?
while hyunjin was about to start walking away y/n made an impulsive decision to ask him what was wrong and why he walked out.
"hyunjin wait," she called out
he stopped in his tracks and turned around, hopeful she would feel sorry and apologize to him.
"what." he grumbled
"why're you walking out if class isn't over? did something happen?"
hyunjin was now officially pissed off. she turned him down and had the audacity to ask whats wrong? fine then.
"YOU happened y/n, thats why im walking out" then he turned around and left.
what the fuck?? y/n thought to herself.

Side note: I AM BACK OH MY LORD 😭🙌🏻
P. S. NOT YET PROOFREAD SO ANY GRAMMAR MISTAKES I MADE, I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️
---
Chapter 3: The Scent Of Her Laughter
When he hears her laughter again, she glows in yellow.
Hobie's previous injuries have healed, but his chest still hurts a little, although not as much as it did the first time. Despite his improved condition, Gwen's unwavering determination for him to rest has kept him off missions until he's fully recovered. In his absence, she and Pav have stepped in to handle some of his duties, frequently keeping him updated on their enjoyable tasks and ranting about their worst ones.
Hobie took advantage of his rest more than he had anticipated, even though he misses kicking ass from time to time, he's grateful that his friends have shouldered the responsibilities. During this time, he pays a visit to the Spider Society to take a break for being at home for an extended period—
—is the excuse he would've told himself but he knows it's a big fat lie.
The true purpose behind his visit was the hope of encountering her once more, his soulmate. Much like him, she's a Spider-Person, specifically a Spider-Woman, and given that she had a watch, he knows he might find her here. While he is at home, taking his well-deserved rest, he finds himself increasingly aware of the color orange in his surroundings, a constant reminder of her presence in all things. The more time he spends in solitude, the more these reminders of her seem to emerge constantly.
A month had passed since their hospital encounter, a brief moment that left a lasting impression. He remembered her laughter, a captivating melody that mirrored her spirit. Their playful exchanges had become a source of comfort, and during that time, he learned her name – Jia, a perfect reflection of her essence.
Though they remained unspoken, the connection and the sudden color shift were undeniable. He was sure she felt it too, yet they both chose to remain silent, patiently waiting for the right moment. He spent hours listening to her speak, her voice a soothing melody that evoked a sense of familiarity.
------
Miguel accompanied Jess in an effort to enlist another Spider whom they believed had greater potential as an asset in capturing more dangerous anomalies. This left Margo in temporary command. Hobie knew this, of course, but he wasn't here to see her. He had another reason, one that made his heart thump a little faster in his chest.
He approached the hidden spot, a small clearing nestled amongst the rooms. Before he even saw them, he heard their laughter, a melody that sent a shiver down his spine.
"So, did she spill any more juicy details?" a voice, presumably Margo's, chuckled.
"If I reveal anything further, I'm pretty sure I'll be erased from existence," another voice responded with a playful tremor in her voice. The sound sent a jolt through Hobie.
It was Jia.
He pushed through the foliage and saw them sitting there, two figures bathed in the warm afternoon sunlight. Margo was regaling Jia with some story, her voice animated, her gestures extravagant. But it was Jia who held his attention.
His eyes were immediately drawn to the way her hair cascaded down her shoulders, the way the sunlight lit up the strands, turning some into fiery threads. He noticed the soft smile playing on her lips, the way her eyes crinkled at the corners when she laughed.
"Seriously! I've never seen Gwen crush on someone that hard," Margo teases, rolling her eyes. "And hey! No one else needs to find out. Pretty please??"
"Enjoying yourselves, ladies?" Hobie interrupted, eliciting a surprised gasp from the two women.
Margo, clutching her chest dramatically, exclaimed, "Jesus, Hobie! You scared the life out of me."
Jia raised an eyebrow, a playful smile gracing her lips. "You're full of surprises."
"Just one of my many charms, love," Hobie chuckled, taking a seat between them, closer to Jia than he needed to be. He could feel her warmth radiating from her, and the scent of her perfume filled his senses. He wanted to reach out and touch her, but he held back, afraid to break the spell.
He had only just met her but he felt like he knew her forever.
"Speaking of which, how are your injuries?" Jia inquires, her brows knitting together in concern.
"All good," Hobie grinned. "Though I'll likely be back on missions tomorrow, missing these peaceful days already." He exaggerated a sigh.
"Finally! We haven't seen Gwen or Pavitr since they took on your workload. We've missed them, even more than you," Margo jokes, earning a disbelieving scoff from Hobie.
Hobie feigned offense. "Okay, okay," he said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "Why are you all suddenly teaming up against me?"
Margo winked. "What do you mean?"
"I'm feeling betrayed," Hobie said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "My first Society friend is ganging up on me with a newcomer."
Jia joined in the playful banter. "I don't know, Hobie," she said, her eyes twinkling. "Even though we've only met a few times, Gwen seems way more fun than you.”
Hobie chuckled. "You've got it all wrong, love," he countered. "I'm way more fun to be around than Gwendy."
"Gwendy?" Jia asked, her brow furrowed in confusion.
"It suits her, in some ways," Hobie explained with a grin.
Margo's eyes lit up. "Ah! Is this about who I think it is?" she exclaimed, her voice filled with excitement.
Hobie chuckled again, but didn't answer her question. He wanted to talk to Jia more, to learn more about her, to see if the connection he felt was real. He had questions, but he was afraid to ask them, afraid of what the answer might be.
The British Spiderman tries to steer the conversation in a different direction. "Actually, Margo, I came here to ask you something. Have you seen Miles recently? There's something I need to ask him."
Jia, answering before Margo could, said, "He's with his parents; it's their anniversary."
Hobie made a mental note to talk to Miles later. After all, Miles had found his soulmate, Gwen, who also happened to be their band's drummer, his close friend, his somewhat little sister. Perhaps Miles could offer some valuable advice on soulmates.
As the trio continued to exchange stories about their adventures and missions, with a good deal of teasing directed towards Hobie who took it all in stride, their lighthearted banter was interrupted by Margo's phone ringing.
Checking her watch and sighing, she announced, "Sorry, folks, duty calls," and excused herself to answer the call from Miguel, leaving Hobie and Jia alone for the time being.
—---
As Margo leaves to answer Miguel's call, a hush falls over the small gathering. Hobie finds himself captivated by Jia, her presence filling the space Margo has left behind. The playful banter fades, replaced by a quiet intensity that hangs heavy in the air.
He catches a glimpse of yellow reflected in her eyes, the color of sunshine and warmth, a constant reminder of their unspoken connection. His heart beats a little faster, a nervous anticipation buzzing beneath his skin.
Jia clears her throat, breaking the silence. "So," she begins, a hint of shyness in her tone, "what is it you wanted to ask Miles?"
Hobie hesitates, unsure if this is the right time to reveal his true intentions yet. He takes a deep breath, gathering his courage. "It's...about Gwendy," he lies, internally apologizing to Gwen for using her as bait.
Jia nods unsurely, not knowing whether to believe him or not but decides to drop the subject.
She has a suspicion on what it may be.
Hobie watches Jia closely, gauging her reaction to his lie. He feels a pang of guilt for deceiving her, but he's not ready to confess his true feelings just yet. He needs time to process everything himself, to figure out what this strange connection between them means. If it's real or not.
Jia notices his hesitation and a playful smirk dances on her lips. "Is everything alright, Hobie?" she asks, her voice teasing yet laced with concern. "You seem a million miles away.”
Hobie snaps out of his internal turmoil, the glow in Jia's eyes momentarily fading as he forces a smile. "Just a little lost in thought," he admits, brushing off her concern with a chuckle. "My brain gets overwhelmed easily, you know."
Jia's smile widens, her eyes twinkling once again with amusement. "I see," she replies, her voice dripping with playful sarcasm. "And here I thought you were just a charming rogue, always on his toes. Who knew you could be so... thoughtful?"
Hobie laughs, a genuine smile lighting up his face. "Rogue? You give me too much credit, Jia," he replies, his voice warm and inviting. "I'm just a simple guy trying to navigate the complexities of life, one awkward silence at a time."
Jia's smile softens, and a hint of understanding flashes in her eyes. "I think we all are, Hobie," she says, a quiet sincerity in her voice. "But that's what makes life so interesting, isn't it? The unexpected turns, the hidden depths, the moments of connection that leave us breathless.”
Hobie couldn't help but agree with Jia. Life was indeed a curious thing, full of surprises and unexpected turns. And right now, the most unexpected and delightful surprise was sitting right beside him, her smile radiating a warm yellow glow that captivated him completely.
With each word Jia spoke, the yellow around her seemed to burn brighter, casting a near-ethereal glow across her features, highlighting the delicate curve of her lips and the dancing sparkle in her eyes.
The "soulmate theory" and the undeniable connection between them hung heavy in the air, waiting to be addressed. But Hobie hesitated, fear whispering in his ear. They had only just met, after all, and rushing things felt wrong, because if this connection between them was real (or at least he hopes she feels it too), he wants to let himself love her without the force of the soulmate thing. It felt too rushed, it was wrong and right at the same time. He wasn't just afraid of losing Jia; he was afraid of losing the fragile connection they had.
Jia, on the other hand, was a master of disguise. Her smile was bright, her laughter light, but behind her playful facade, a storm of emotions raged. She felt the same pull towards Hobie, the same undeniable connection, but she was unsure of his intentions. Was he just being friendly, or was there something more?
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the clearing, Margo returned. The familiar rhythm of their banter resumed, a comforting shield against the vulnerability that threatened to consume them.
"So," Margo chimed in, oblivious to the unspoken tension, "where were we?"
Hobie cleared his throat, forcing a casual smile. "Just sharing some war stories," he said, his voice a shade too light.
Jia nodded, a hint of knowingness in her eyes. "Yes, quite the war stories."
Margo, ever the observant one, narrowed her eyes. "Is everything alright between you two? You seem a bit… tense."
Hobie and Jia exchanged a quick glance, both trying to appear nonchalant. "Everything's fine," Hobie assured her, a little too quickly.
Margo raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "Alright, if you say so. But remember, I'm always here if you want to talk."
Hobie and Jia thanked her, their smiles strained. They knew Margo's offer was genuine, but they weren't ready to confide in anyone. Not yet.
As the evening deepened, they bid their farewells, the unspoken words hanging heavy in the air. Hobie watched Jia leave, the yellow around her fading with each step she took. A deep ache bloomed in Hobie's chest, a yearning for Jia's presence that transcended words. He wanted nothing more than to be closer to her, to feel the warmth of her touch, to lose himself in the depths of her eyes.
He knew that he couldn't keep pretending, that sooner or later, he would have to confront his feelings. And when that time came, he would be ready. He would be ready to face the truth, whatever it may be.
For now, he could only hold onto the hope that Jia felt the same way, that their connection was real and true. And with that hope burning brightly in his heart, Hobie walked into the night, the yellow glow of the setting sun a reminder of the soul he was destined to find.
To be continued..

Legal Affairs - Chapter 3
Tumblr media
Synopsis: you and Wonho have ramen together
Word count: 3.2k
Triggers: mentions drink spiking/getting drugged
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hoseok couldn’t figure out why you were so angry. Maybe the test was flawed - he definitely didn’t take any drugs. Was that why you were mad at him? But then you asked who it was. And Hoseok didn’t have an answer because he didn’t know who you were referring to.
“Miss y/n, how about you take a seat?” Hoseok gestured to one of the chairs in front of Jia’s desk.
You shook your head. “No, Mr Lee. We need to talk. Jia, thank you for your work. We’ll catch up another time.” Jia nodded in understanding while Hoseok looked between the two of you, confused.
Before he could process anything, you gently placed a hand on his arm and guided him out of the office. Your steps were angry and hurried, and you didn’t let go of his arm until you were almost beside the car in the parking lot. By then, Hoseok had grown too weary of your silence so he simply stopped following you. Despite your clouded thoughts, you felt his movement still behind you and turned around.
“Mr Lee, we need to talk,” you said while you looked for your keys.
“Yes, but you haven’t asked me anything yet. Is something wrong?” Hoseok asked, truly concerned, more about you than himself at that moment.
You hung your head in frustration before looking at him. “Rohypnol.” When he didn’t reply, you added, “it’s a sedative drug, and it can make a person incredibly easy to control.”
“Miss Y/n, something must be wrong because I swear I didn’t take any drugs.” Hoseok felt fear rising in his chest again.
“That’s exactly the problem, Mr Lee. Usually when someone takes Rohypnol, it was forced on them.” You decided to wait for Hoseok to put two and two together.
Hoseok didn’t move when the car beeped and unlocked. He still didn’t move when you began opening the doors. Maybe making him wallow in his thoughts wasn’t a good idea.
“Mr Lee?” He didn’t look at you. “Hoseok?” He was still spacing out. You walked a little closer to him, and spoke gently. “Hoseokah... will you get in the car please? I can explain it slowly?”
Hoseok finally stirred. He got into the car, and you followed suit. You turned on the engine so there’d be some airflow through the car.
“Whatever it is you’re feeling right now, it’s okay. This wasn’t your fault. We have plenty to get the charges thrown out. And if you want, we can try find out where the Rohypnol came from too.” You lifted up a hand, debating whether to place it on his shoulder or not.
“What did they do to me? Why is this happening?” Hoseok mumbled. His voice was uneven, like he was going to cry.
“I don’t know, Hoseok,” you said while bringing your hand down. “I can start on the paperwork for the prosecutor right now if you want.” Hoseok didn’t respond, so you tried a different tactic. “If you’re worried about what might have happened to you, I can take you to a hospital.”
You reached into the glove compartment and pulled out a tissue packet. Your arm grazed in between Hoseok’s knees but he didn’t notice. “I know you’re feeling violated right now. You can cry, I won’t tell a soul. Attorney-client privilege, remember?” You hoped that last part would at least help him crack a smile.
Hoseok gingerly took the tissues from you. “You’re not like lawyers in movies,” was all he said while dabbing at his face a little.
You started the engine. “I’ll take you home."
Hoseok stopped dabbing at his eyes. “I thought you wanted dinner.” His voice was a bit steadier now.
“I do,” you said while accelerating slowly. “But you probably don’t want to anymore."
“Why would I not? I even dressed up a little for it.”
You thought you could hear a small smile forming on Hoseok’s lips. That’s when it occurred to you - the long time getting ready and dabbing at his eyes just now. He had even put on some makeup to have dinner with you. The thought made you smile brightly. You didn’t realise Hoseok was watching your reaction.
“We can still have dinner if you want,” he repeated.
“Mr Lee, we can eat together later. Right now, you should take some time for yourself and have some comfort food instead,” you replied while focusing on the road.
Hoseok refused to become disheartened when you said dinner was off. “Do you want to have my comfort food together instead then?"
You couldn’t help but a laugh a little. It was honestly an adorable request. Plus, maybe Hoseok didn’t want to be left alone to his thoughts right now.
“Very well, Mr Lee,” you agreed.
“You don’t have to be so formal, remember? I said Hoseok was fine. Plus we’re going to be eating ramen at the dorms.” Hoseok seemed to have finally regained some of his joyful personality back. You hadn’t seen a lot of it these last few days, but you hoped you’d see more of it.
The dorm was empty when you and Hoseok arrived. He carried in your evidence box from your car, saying something about how his muscles weren’t for show. Hoseok placed your box on the dining table and went into the kitchen, and you followed him. In the kitchen, he stopped in front of a pantry to take out different flavours of ramen and held them out to you.
“You want me to pick?” You asked and he nodded. “I don’t really mind, but.... that one."
“Good choice.” Hoseok murmured as he picked up several more packets to open and put it in a saucepan. You watched watched the muscles in his arms and back move as he worked. Your gaze fluttered across his body, taking in everything from his newly bleached hair, to his broad shoulders to the way his fingers held the ramen packets.
Then, remembering he was your client, you cleared your throat and said, “I’ll set the table.”
Hoseok didn’t turn around from the stove. “There’s bowls in one of those cupboards over there, and we also have soju, wine and beer.”
You weren’t really sure what cupboard he meant, so you opened them one by one until you found bowls and beer. After placing the bowls and a pack of beer on the table, you headed back into the kitchen, with a beer in hand. Hoseok was cutting up some vegetables to put into the ramen. You stood beside him and took a sip.
“Are you sure you don’t need any more help from me?” you asked. Hoseok didn’t reply, so you walked toward the fridge and opened it. “Could we add egg to the ramen?"
Hoseok turned around and nodded, so you took two eggs and cracked them into the saucepan. Hoseok then walked over to where you were standing next to the stove and added in the cut up vegetables. A few drops of water splashed out onto your pale pink sweater. “Ah fu-“ you muttered under your breath.
Hoseok glanced down at your clothes, and said, “I can get you something to get changed into, if you want."
“No, it’s okay, your clothes are probably expensive. Plus your girlfriend probably won’t like that,” you said after taking another gulp of your beer.
“Miss y/n, I don’t have a girlfriend,” Hoseok said, little tense, though you didn’t notice it.
You moved back towards the dining table, took off your turtleneck and laid it down on a chair. You were wearing a black singlet underneath. Not exactly revealing, but still a little out of the ordinary for a lawyer-client meeting. You then drained your beer, and cracked open another. Then you sat down at the table to read the lab report fully.
Hoseok watched you curiously from the kitchen. “Y/n, when does the workday end for you?"
“Honestly, it doesn’t. I keep going until I get everything done. I’m one of those people who can’t exactly seem to relax.” You grew more talkative when you were drunk.
Hoseok smiled. “Looks like you and I have one thing in common then.”
You kept your eyes on the report. “Eh, I‘m sure we have more than one thing in common. For example, I also like ramen as a comfort food, but my aunt worries I don’t eat healthy enough when I am studying, so she doesn’t keep a lot of ramen in the house.” See, talkative.
“So you live with your aunt then?” Hoseok asked as he removed the ramen from the stove.
“Yeah, her and my uncle. My parents live a few hours out of the city so it’s more convenient for me. Plus it’s nice living with lawyers, coz I can ask for help with my work.” Your drunk talkative self was dishing out everything.
Hoseok set the pot of ramen down on the dinner table, but you didn’t glance up from your report. He walked over to stand in front of you, and placed a hand on the paper, gently pushing it away from your face. “C’mon. Have some ramen with me.”
Hoseok filled a bowl of ramen and set it in front of you, then sat across from you with his own bowl. You weren’t sure if it was the alcohol, or just Hoseok, but you felt yourself getting lost in this simple moment - having ramen with your (very hot) client.
“You made a lot. Are you expecting anyone else?” You gestured to the large saucepan.
“No, I told the members to not come inside this dorm tonight. They’re probably either next door or out somewhere,” Hoseok answered as he blew on his ramen.
“Why was that? Wouldn’t it be more comforting for you to have them around? You’ve had a tough evening.” You slurp up your ramen.
Hoseok’s lips twitched and he shook his head. “Well, I was looking forward to dinner with you. I messaged them to get out while you were driving here.”
The alcohol meant you didn’t notice the big grin forming on your face. You smiled down at your bowl and said, “It’s okay. I was looking forward to dinner too."
Hoseok sported a small frown at that. “I am sorry you didn’t get to eat at the restaurant you wanted to. Maybe I can take you there another day?"
You didn’t notice how Hoseok furtively asked to have dinner with you again. “I’d like that. But having ramen and beer with you is enjoyable too. Like there’s good food, good alcohol and good company.”
Hoseok didn’t reply. Instead he mused to himself about how you accidentally called him good company, and how you implied you didn’t mind missing out on your favourite restaurant for him. While he was lost in his thoughts, potentially reading too much into your actions, you sheepishly spoke. “I’m sorry, I am very talkative when I am drunk. Maybe you should talk instead."
“Well what do you want to hear about?” Hoseok asked. “Surely not more lawyer questions? Can’t we talk like friends tonight instead?"
“No lawyer questions, I have had too much alcohol to ask those kinds of questions properly. Tell me about why you became an idol, what movies you like, what places you want to travel to or something. Y’know, talk like friends.” You threw out some suggestions.
Hoseok was more than happy to oblige and began speaking brightly. “I became an idol so I could support my mum. She raised me alone, and I want to make her life comfortable.” You found Hoseok’s reasoning very admirable, though you didn’t say anything. “Why did you become a lawyer?"
You answered nonchalantly, with far less passion than Hoseok’s response earlier. “I had good grades.” Hoseok didn’t seem to see the connection, so you continued. “Law seemed like the most enjoyable of the degrees I could study with those grades. And then I guess, I got lucky with how I actually enjoy my job.”
Hoseok helped himself to some more ramen. “What are you going to do after my case is over?"
“I don’t know. There’s really nothing planned for my future other than do something with commercial law,” you said bleakly.
“Really? I think you have a promising future.”
You shook your head while swallowing the ramen in your mouth. “Honestly, you don’t know the half of it."
Hoseok leaned forward on his elbows. “So then tell me. I want to hear more about you.”
You sighed. “Look, I’m going to preface this by saying, II’ll get your charges dismissed tomorrow morning. And don’t worry about Dispatch or any other paper, I’ve got that covered too. But my future is very precarious. This internship was the only one I got out of everything I applied to, and I don’t even think I got it based on merit.”
Hoseok swirled his chopsticks in the ramen, processing your words. Finally, he asked. “Two questions. Firstly, what’s up with Dispatch? Like I thought maybe they didn’t report anything since it’s only been a few days, but what do you mean you’ll take care of it?”
You hadn’t expected Hoseok to pay that much attention, but the answer to that question wasn’t one you thought you’d be sharing. It wasn’t a sordid reason or anything, but you asked for the second question instead to buy some time.
“What more merit do you need that successfully cracking my case?”
Damn it. You checked the saucepan for more ramen to try and delay answering either question. Noticing your movement, Hoseok took your bowl from you and filled it up again. He then waited for you to answer. There was no escaping.
“So the second question. Remember how the CEO at Useungja said he’s been my mentor? Even though I sent in my resume like a normal candidate, I think he pulled some strings to get HR to hire me.”
Hoseok didn’t look angry, or surprised, like you expected. “But isn’t that just a case of who you know mattering more than what you know? It happens often, and is pretty normalised.”
You shook your head. “Yeah alright, you have a point.” You don’t elaborate and moved to the next question. “But now about Dispatch. They don’t know because the TV station and Useungja made a deal to not give out any information. And the police can’t name you yet because it’s an ongoing investigation. If they reveal your name, I can take them to court.” You said that last part a little proudly.
Hoseok thought your reaction was adorable.
You stood up to take your empty bowl to the kitchen, but found yourself a little off balance. You seemed to have forgotten you had 4 cans of beer. Hoseok stood and walked to take your bowl from you. “Relax, y/n. Go lie down on the couch or something, I’ll clean up.”
“I can’t let you clean since you’re the one who cooked,” you said but let Hoseok take your bowl from you anyways.
He placed both bowls on the table and placed an arm around your shoulders to lead you to the couch. You plopped down, ungracefully, and pulled your legs up on to the seat. Hoseok dropped some blankets on the couch, then left to turn the lights off. Finally, his form sank into the couch beside you and the movement of the cushions pulled you towards him. There were just inches separating you, but as much as you wanted to lean into him, you knew you couldn’t completely lose your inhibitions in front of your client.
Hoseok switched on Netflix and handed you the remote. “Mr Lee, you can pick,” you said groggily.
You could ear the smile in Hoseok’s voice. “I think we’re past the point where you call me that.” Hoseok flung an arm over the back of the couch to spread the blanket over you, and once again, you told yourself to ignore the need to curl into his side.
“Come closer, y/n.” Hoseok’s voice held a more commanding tone.
“What?”
“I can tell your arm hurts from trying to not lean on me. So come closer, and pick something to watch.” Hoseok moved his arm from the headrest to your shoulders, causing you to finally give in. Placing your head on Hoseok’s shoulder, you wiggled yourself closer to him.
You selected something out of Netflix's most popular movies, but both of you were more focused on how your bodies felt pressed close together. Your head started rolling down from Hoseok’s shoulder to is chest, indicating you were falling asleep.
Then you suddenly jerked up. “Ah fuck, I might not make it home tonight.” You forgot to cover up your swearing.
Hoseok moved his arm from your shoulders to rub your back. “Shh, just stay,” he cooed.
“Aren’t you uncomfortable? Don’t you want to get changed?” You asked, remembering Hoseok was still wearing the outfit from dinner.
Hoseok hummed as if to say no. You were both silent until you started fidgeting. You noticed one of your legs had pins and needles. Trying to stay balanced, you pushed down on Hoseok’s thigh so you could stretch your legs.
Hoseok gasped and grabbed your hand. “Y/n… don’t do that.”
“Oh no, I am so sorry, I didn’t mean to…” you said while pulling your hand back, but the loss in balance only pushed you further into Hoseok’ body.
He didn’t seem to mind and shifted his hand to your waist. “Lie down.”
He first pushed you off him so he could bring his legs on to the couch, then guided your torso back down so your back was pressed against his chest.
“Hoseok, this is…” you started.
“Shh, just tell me if you’re comfortable,” Hoseok whispered, though he was very audible with his head behind yours.
“I am.”
“And did you enjoy dinner?” His fingers tapped against your waist.
“I did.”
“Then just stay until the morning.” You felt his arm loop its way around your waist.
“But Hoseok… this is…” you tried again.
“I’ll take you out to dinner properly soon, y/n.” Hoseok sighed into your hair. “I’m sorry I didn’t do this in order.”
You wanted to say but you’re my client, there are ethical things to discuss before a date, but Hoseok’s body felt too good and the alcohol felt too overpowering, so you fell asleep.
Hoseok knew you were asleep once your breathing grew slower and deeper. He was’t sure what had attracted him to you first. You looked so dorky in your blazer and sundress, but you exuded sheer elegance in your turtleneck and flowing knee length skirt today. But then he heard how you spoke, your words always planned and calculated… until you were simply trying to socialise. Then he heard his members discuss your commitment to your work. Minhyuk had sent Hoseok a barrage of texts the minute you left the dorms yesterday morning, mentioning everything from your very kind 6am pickup, your excitement at the drug test results and you going to the party to keep an eye on Hoseok. Once Minhyuk mentioned the drug test, Hoseok had been wondering when you’d call him to discuss it, because suddenly, he was eager to get to know you better. So he had put in effort when you said you should grab dinner, only he didn’t think the day would end this way. Not that he was complaining.

You belong with me <3
A sunghoon x reader drabble, based on the song you belong with me by Taylor Swift
Warnings: cheating (but not from the reader from sunghoons terrible gf), a kiss is mentioned at the end, I didn’t use any pronouns for the reader but they do wear a dress towards the end
Word Count: 560 (very short basically)

Reader pov~
I sigh as I stare at the window across from me. I was talking with the oh so beautiful neighbor boy, Park Sunghoon, using our notepad messaging system when he got a call from his girlfriend, Jia, and now they’re arguing. It pains me to see him like this, so upset over a girl who’s
more than likely cheating on him with one of his best friends.
He ends the call looking frustrated and I hold up a note that says, ‘You okay?’, and he responds with one that says ‘Tired of the drama.’ We chat a bit more about basic things like school and prom that’s coming up before he excused himself to go to sleep. I sigh and take my glasses off and head to sleep myself.
[next week, football game]
I’m standing in the crowd, next to Jake and his girlfriend who just so happen to be making out instead of paying attention to the game. “Why did I even agree to come with them?”, I ask myself. I focus my eyes on him. He’s on the sidelines while Jia is talking to Jay, one of Sunghoon’s teammates. I see Hoon’s lips moving but I can’t hear what he’s saying… he seems angry. Not long after, he storms off and into the locker rooms.
I sigh and follow him, slipping into the locker rooms quietly so I don’t get caught. I see Sunghoon sitting on one of the benches with his head in his hands. I sit down next to him and put a hand on his back, rubbing it gently. He looked up with glossy eyes and hugged me tightly. “She was cheating...”, he mumbled into my neck. He smelled like sweat and dirt but I didn’t mind. I didn’t say anything and just continued rubbing his back while letting him cry on my shoulder.
[Prom night]
It was the night of prom and I was sitting on my bed. Was I planning on going? No. But he was. I looked up and caught a glimpse of him in his suit. He looked amazing. He flashed me a quick smile and gave me a thumbs up before exiting his room and going downstairs. As I watched him get in his car and drive off I thought, ‘Maybe I should go...’
Going with the thought, I threw on the nicest dress I owned and headed to the school. When I walked through the doors, all eyes were on me. Sunghoon, who was talking with Jia, while looking quite unhappy might I add, and some other friends froze when he laid his eyes on me.
Before I left I told myself, “tonight’s the night. I’m gonna do it.” I walked up to him and grabbed the note out of my pocket, unfolding it. I held it up so he could see. It read, ‘I love you.’
I looked to the ground and didn’t see him pull out a piece of paper and unfold it. Just like mine it read, ‘I love you.’ He walked closer to me and closed the distance between us. Jia let out a huff and tried to grab Hoon’s arm and pull him away from me but he just shook her hand off.
When he reached me, he grabbed my face and closed the space between us completely with a smile.
End~

Chaerin’s notes
hello everyone! This is a work that is quite old. I originally wrote it in late 2019- early 2020 I believe. If it happens to seem familiar, I have it posted on my AO3 as a Changlix short story (I promise that it’s mine 😭😭)
It’s not very good, as it is quite old, but I tried to adjust a couple things to make it a little better
I promise that the works will get better, I just need to find some stuff to write about before they do, so for now enjoy some of my older works I guess 😭

Hii Ryen,
I've always wanted to reach out because you're amazing and I adore your writing style, but I was intimidated lol.
Three tangerines got me through last year, and I'm genuinely glad I discovered your story and your blog. The characters you created are so realistic, it's impossible not to love all of them. It was nice to know more about Bro and his past and at the end of the day I really sympathize with him: he endured it all for his sister, and deep down he has a soft heart (I'm still terrified by the way he will react when he finds out about Reader and Yoongi, though🥴). While I was rereading Forfeit, I noticed something: it is mentioned that Bro has (or had?) a crush on Jia (Yuri's sister). Will we know more about that? (Probably someone has already pointed that out, I'm not sure)
Thank you for everything you do, Ryen<3

we will find out more about the Jia situation! and if anyone has read or watched true beauty, the sister of the main lead has the same energy i envision for her LOLLLL

I am open to all requests ! However I do only write for F!Mcs only, using she/her pronouns.
Dan Jia is my OC meant for the use of Dragon's Cradle ! She is the younger sister (not biological but read and you'll understand) of Dan Feng, therefore the sibling of Dan Heng !
She is the past of DC!(Y/n) ! No, she isnt a different person like DF and DH, but rather she adopted a new persona from losing her memory, a temporary identity after amnesia.
She accepts that she is Dan Jia, but still prefers to call herself (Y/n), for Dan Jia was she who was the past, and (Y/n) is her who lives to see today.
(Maybe she's the older sister of Dan Heng, but since she was frozen, she might be as well the same age as him)
Dan Feng is the Imbibator Lunae (Drinker of the Moon) of the Xianzhou : Luofu. To accommodate this fact, Dan Jia/(Y/n) is the Saltator Lunae (Dancer of the Moon).
After all, one who drinks always tastes sweeter with company and entertainment.

MASTERLIST
Summary: As Bangtan prepares for a new chapter in their lives, they head to their private property in the forest for a songwriting workshop. As a songwriter and producer they have worked with for years, I’m asked to tag along. I was ready for the heavy workload and small amount of sleep during the workshop week. However, I wasn’t ready for the storm that came that changed my friendship with Namjoon forever.
Pairing: Idol!RM/Namjoon x OFC
Genre: Friends to Lovers, Fluff and Smut
Rating: M
Status: COMPLETE
[AN: A lot of things happen in this chapter. It all takes place in a matter of days, which is why the chapter is so long. We are getting near the end, and this chapter is one of the last ones before things take a turn]
Trigger warning: description—not too graphic—of sexual assault, talk of trauma. If you want to skip the portion, there will be **** symbols at the beginning and end of it.
warnings/spoilers: oral sex (male and female receiving), deep throat, gagging

November 2021
Malibu, CA, USA
I made my way through my family’s ranch. Seeing the horses brought a warmth I had been feeling seldom lately. My childhood horse passed many years ago. I hadn’t ridden much since, feeling it would be a betrayal. However, every time I saw one of those divine creatures, the emotions Selena—my horse—used to bring me always came flooding back. I loved this property. Loved the goats, the donkeys, the chickens, and the turkeys. It brought me solace from the shithole house I lived in. My parents’ house was huge, but there was no corner that could hide me from the black cloud that hovered. The hatred that plagued that house since before I was born still remained. As I came to the front door, my stomach turned. Emotions from childhood began to creep their way to the surface.
I had been in LA for over a week and I still hadn’t seen my parents. I had made every excuse in the book not to visit, but finally, I ran out of shit excuses to avoid them. Thankfully, I was planning on staying for only a couple of hours. I had already made Ky promise to call me to give me an excuse to leave. Plus, there was my Tia Jia who had agreed to come over as well, so that would help.
Taking a breath, I settled myself and knocked on the door.
A brunette, petite woman who looked like a retired model answered. Her hair and makeup were perfectly applied; the clothes on her making her glow like a goddess. My mother really was a beauty….
Her brown eyes did a once-over on me. “You haven’t been exercising while you’ve been gone? Mayahuel, you know noodles always make your face plump.”
…too bad her soul was rotten. “Hello to you too, Madre.”
She dismissed me and barely grazed my body with her arms—her version of a hug. More criticism came out of her mouth as she led the way into the house.
I noticed my father—tall, dark, and with the world’s thickest mustache—sitting on his normal chair in the corner of the living room. He was reading one of his many magazines. He barely looked up at seeing me and sent me a nod. Nice to see you too, Dad, I said silently to myself.
When we got to the kitchen, she went directly to the coffee. It was one of the few things I agreed wholeheartedly with my mother: coffee was good at any time of the day. She took out two cups and poured them to the rim. She put creamer in one and was about to put some in the other one when I stopped her, reminding her that I took mine with sugar only.
My mother gave a dismissive wave. “I always confuse you with your brothers.”
I really wanted to respond with the fact that one of my brothers didn’t like coffee and the other drank it straight black—no creamer or sugar. I was only going to be here for a couple of hours, though. I really didn’t want to spend it picking fights.
“So, I hear that you’ve been meeting up with some labels during your stay here,” my mother said bluntly.
I just about spat out my coffee. “Who told you?”
My mother looked unimpressed, almost offended. “You do realize that I’ve been in this industry for decades before you. I may no longer be a recording artist, but I am a songwriter and producer—I have ears almost everywhere.”
Of course I knew, but I didn’t think that word would get to her so quickly. I took another sip of coffee, wishing there was some kalua in it. “I’ve met with a couple already.”
“How have they gone?”
Horribly, I want to say, but I won’t. It’s my pride. I don’t want to admit that I—a platinum-selling, record-breaking, multi-winning recording artist—had just been offered two very shit deals. Honestly, I didn’t even want to think about their offers; it felt like a slap in the face.
Kyung had laughed in their faces, believing at first it was a joke, but when he saw they were serious, he hadn’t been interested in continuing the meetings—both times. We were in and out of that building in less than twenty minutes. The first time had felt bizarre, but this second one we had the other day went similarly and gave me self-doubt. Had I put too much value on myself?
Before I had a chance to answer my mother, we heard a voice coming from the front door.
As we turned towards the hall entrance, I was welcomed by a Korean woman making her way toward us. She was of medium height, slightly heavy, and had the warmest smile. Every time I saw it, I felt an ease run through me.
Tia Jia immediately hugged and kissed me. This was the ninth time we had seen each other since I had arrived, but I wasn’t about to tell my mother that.
“You come in right on time,” my mother said, grabbing another mug. “Mayahuel was about to tell us how these meetings have gone with some labels.”
Tia Jia gave a blank smile. I fought back a laugh. Truth was, my Tia Jia already knew everything. I had called her no more than ten minutes after walking out of each meeting. But, again, I wasn’t about to tell my mother that.
My mother continued to talk. “If they aren’t able to meet your list of demands, just know your old label would meet every one of them. I talked to Chad not so long ago and he said—”
“You what?” I asked. Hearing the name made my stomach drop.
“I talked to Chad—” My mother continued.
“Why?” Anger began to rumble. I had told my mother long ago that I had gotten into an argument with one of the heads, which was the reason why I had left. She had been badgering me so much about why I had decided not to resign from my contract, that I felt pressured to tell her something. Mostly, because I believed she would have started snooping around if I didn’t give her something.
“Oh, it’s not that big of a deal, Mayahuel. Let bygones be bygones,” she said dismissively. “You never were one to have the patience for a few disagreements.”
No, I just wasn’t one who had the patience for the screaming, yelling, name-calling, and throwing objects, I wanted to say to her. But I kept on topic. “Madre, I told you that this wasn’t some small argument. This was serious. I was disrespected and there is no way in hell that I’m going to ever work with them again.”
Before my mother could let out another word, my tia Jia interceded. She settled my mother down. She had dealt with the woman for almost all her life—they had been best friends since they were teenage girls. No one seemed to settle my mother better than my tia Jia.
Thankfully, my mother agreed to change the topic.
I gave my tia a look of complete gratefulness.
“Have you told your mother about Thanksgiving?” Tia Jia asked.
My mother’s face did not look pleased. “What about it?”
I decided to just rip the Band-Aid. “Well, I wanted to have it over my place. My friends from Korea are going to be here for their concert and I wanted to invite them. They’ve been great with me while I’ve been living there—especially Namjoon. He always had me over during a holiday. His entire family was always welcoming.”
“Namjoon is a good man,” Tia Jia said warmly. “You’ve met him before, Tlali. He’s the tall one. Incredibly smart—very handsome.”
“Who?” my mother looked utterly lost.
“From the group of friends Mayita has. The Korean group.”
It took a while for my mother to figure it out. “Oh. They’re all tall.”
“Well, he’s the tallest,” I said. “And I’m going to invite them for Thanksgiving. I figured it would be nice to do something for them. I would like all my loved ones in one room.”
My mother didn’t say anything, just wore a slight frown and looked out into the distance. It was the look I knew all too well: she was trying to be polite and not say anything rude.
The unsettling feeling in my stomach I usually felt when I knew my mother was judging me immediately took over. Honestly, sometimes I preferred hearing her be rude than imagining what she might be thinking.
“It’s going to be fun,” Tia Jia insisted, her voice upbeat and light. “Do you want to make the menu right now? We have time.”
Tia Jia’s excitement rubbed off. I took out my phone and the pair of us began to look up dishes.
“Want some more, honey?” my tia Jia asked, motioning to my empty mug.
I nodded.
She took it and poured some coffee, adding two tablespoons of sugar and handing it to me.
As I took a sip of the coffee, I noticed my mother's demeanor change. I know she had noticed it. Tia Jia knew my preference for coffee. A small part of me felt bad….
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A few days later, I walked out of my third meeting with label. And for the third time, I was walking away feeling completely off. Enough so that I knew it wasn’t something I could ignore anymore. My intuition was screaming at me that something was going on.
Kyung was walking with me, getting into the driver’s side as I got into the passenger’s side. Once both inside, I let it out. “What the fuck is going on?”
Kyung drove out of the parking spot. He was silent until we were out of the lot. “I was really hoping it was just me or that the other two labels were just being dickheads for other reasons. But now….” He shook his head in disgust.
I finished his thinking. “It’s like they’re offering me a shitty contract on purpose so I won’t sign with them. That deal is something you offer a rookie who doesn’t know the first thing about the industry. They might as well spit at me.” Anger was starting to boil inside me.
Kyong began to speak again, “I wasn’t lying to you when I said they were the ones who wanted you more than the other labels. I scheduled to meet them third on purpose. I wanted to see what the other two companies were offering so we could work that to our advantage. But it seems as if the offers are getting worse.” He looked more pissed than how he sounded.
I had known Kyung all my life. Before he was my manager and business partner, he had been an important figure growing up. As much as Tia Jia was like a mother to me, Kyung was like a brother. From his facial expressions, I knew when he was controlling his anger. “What’s up?”
It took a moment. He was trying to gather his thoughts and emotions before speaking up. “A buddy of mine who still works at the old label tipped me off the other day. Some rumor he had heard from top executives. Apparently, some didn’t take well with you rejecting to meet with them. We shouldn’t be surprised that they heard of us meeting with other companies for possible contracts—it’s hard to keep a secret in this industry. According to my buddy, the execs in the old label are trying to block you from signing.”
Suddenly, I remembered my mother’s words about talking to Chad. Had she known about my meetings with other labels before talking to Chad? Had she told Chad? Had Chad tried using my mother to get to me—to get me to come crawling to them? Fuck, he probably did.
Kyung’s eyes were on the road; he couldn’t see how upset I was. “I knew they weren’t going to be happy about us rejecting their meeting, but to go this far? Maybe I should give them a call and try to settle things with them.”
“No,” I said as I turned away so he wouldn’t see how pissed I was at this suggestion.
I knew he was looking at me. “Why?”
“I don’t want anything to do with them, Kyung. I’ve said this too many times.” I was getting snappy and I didn’t want to.
Kyung wasn’t one to easily let things go, though. “Maya, I really don’t know why you can’t give me an answer. What happened? I know something did—I thought maybe it was with one individual in the company you had an issue with, but now it seems as if it’s the entire company that fucked you over.”
I refused to tell him. For too many reasons, he couldn’t know. I had told two people about the incident—my tia Jia and Dr. Rob. I don’t think I could ever tell another soul.
Kyung let out a heavy sigh. “It must be bad if you can’t even tell me. It only makes me think the worse, you know? You tell me almost everything. How bad is it that you can’t tell me?”
I stayed silent.
Then, I noticed us pulling into a parking lot. It was mostly empty. I turned to Kyung, confused about why we were here.
He parked the car, unbuckled himself, and fully turned to me. His face was a pale white, his hands and lips were shaking slightly. I had never seen him look like this. “It’s scaring me, Maya. I’m thinking the unimaginable here.” His eyes were watery and desperate. “Please don’t tell me it’s what I think it is.”
My own eyes were starting to form tears of their own. Horrible images creeping their way up. I fought to keep control.
“Did someone…do something to you?” he was struggling getting the words out. The tears were coming down.
I couldn’t hold it together anymore. Seeing him come apart sent me downward. I felt myself shaking, feeling the anger, the disgust, the hurt, and the embarrassment all at once.
His arms were around me, pulling me into a warm embrace. I clutched to him, letting myself feel it all as those goddamn images came flooding back to the surface.
**He squeezed. As if he had done it before. As if it belonged to him.
There was an eerie glint in his eyes. The clear-blue eyes that I once thought to be full of kindness were now baring down at me in a vile way.
My skin crawled and I wanted nothing more than to push him off and run out of there. But for the first time in my life, I had no control of my body. With a simple claw on my body, this piece of shit had overpowered me.
Hot breath was on me and I wanted to be stabbed, just so I could feel something else.**
“You don’t have to talk about it.” Kyung’s voice pulled me out of my horrific past. “We won’t ever deal with them, I promise. But know I’m here for whenever you want to talk, ok?”
I only nodded, not trusting my voice.
He kissed the top of my head. “If you’re scared of how I’ll react, I swear on Yori and my kids I won’t say a thing to the guys. I promise.”
It was one of the reasons I didn’t want him to know the truth. Kyung was close with my brothers and guy cousins. We had all grown up together and the guys had an old school mentality when it came to handling certain things. I still remember the hell they gave my first ex who treated me like shit. The piece of shit who assaulted me had done worse. I had enough reason to suspect that this could lead to legal trouble for the guys if they found out.
Then, there was the added layer of them be disappointed in me. Growing up, they had taught me how to defend myself. Taught me what to do if anyone dared put his hands on me. I knew how to box, for crying out loud. How had I just let it happen? Their disappointment in me would only deepen the disappointment I had on myself.
Dr. Rob had emphasized time and time again that it wasn’t my fault. Shock was common in assault victims. However, I had never accepted that in myself.
Once out of his embrace, he smiled sweetly. “Eomma knows?”
I nodded.
“Good. As long as she knows, it’s all that matters,” he said with complete sincerity. He continued to soothe me until I was calm and no more tears were coming down. “You good?”
I nodded. “Yeah. Thank you.”
He held my eyes as he spoke, “You call the shots, Maya. You always have. I’ll find you the perfect home, I promise. And then you’re gonna kick ass, record the most amazing album, win a shit ton of awards, and break multiple records. Those sons of bitches are going to regret it.”
The fire in his eyes and voice gave me some power.
“Hell, even if we can’t find the perfect home, you can still record and release this album without backup. And I’ll be sure to spread the word that you released it on your own because no label took you seriously. They’ll be walking with their tail between their legs from the embarrassment.”
I felt a boost of confidence, Kyung’s words affecting me in a positive way.
He was right, we were going to use this as fuel. We’d make them all regret it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day, things began to look up. Bangtan had landed in LA. Because I had a close relationship with the coordinator of the trip, I managed to sneak my way into the vehicle Namjoon was going to be riding in. I had made it seem as if I was doing a prank on him that the rest of the guys were in on.
It worked and I was currently in the back seat of the black van. The van was parked in a section inside LAX that had a private exit. I had told the coordinator and guys about the exit.
The partition on the vehicle was up, so we would have privacy.
Namjoon was the first to enter the vehicle. Those dark brown, dragon eyes were the first thing I saw. He had his mask on, so I couldn’t see his deep dimples. I felt like I was six years old seeing Disneyworld for the first time.
He made his way to the back of the van, pulled down his mask, and leaned his entire body into me. His lips immediately sought my own. His baseball cap bumped into me, so I took it off.
I enthusiastically welcomed him, throwing the cap to the side, and wrapping my arms around his wide back. “Hi,” I mumbled in between kisses. “How was the flight?”
“Long,” he mumbled back, his lips not wanting to leave mine as well.
“Get a room!” came Jimin’s voice.
Namjoon pulled away at the reminder we weren’t alone. He let out an irritated sigh and sat down properly. His arm came around the back of my seat.
I took his seatbelt and buckled him in, noticing he had forgotten to do so. “It’s a good thing you guys were able to use this terminal.” I reached over to Jimin and pinched his cheeks in a greeting fashion. He gave me one of his eye smiles.
“It’s a good thing you told the team about it,” J-Hope said as he buckled himself into his seat. “If you hadn’t mentioned it, we would have gone through the main terminal.” He reached over and gave me a high five.
“I thought I had told you guys about it before. It’s a major benefit after flying private all my life, I got to learn all the hacks of LAX,” I said as the door closed.
I turned back to Namjoon who was looking fondly at me. My cheeks were starting to hurt from all the smiling. I fell into my seat, his arm circling my shoulders. “I missed you,” I whispered to him, letting out what I had been feeling since leaving his apartment in Seoul.
His face inched closer to mine, his hand caressing my neck and pulling my face to his. “I missed you, too.” With his forehead against mine, he closed his eyes and breathed in. He looked calm, at ease.
I reached up to touch his face and noticed a change. His strips were gone. He had gotten a new cut and the strips had faded. While I had enjoyed the strips along his hair, he hadn’t been a fan of them. He tended to prefer a mullet style—which, personally, was my least favorite on him. But it was his hair, and I really didn’t care too much how he styled or cut it. As long as I had hair to pull and hold on to…..
The sudden image of his mouth wrapped around my pussy and his tongue inside me came to mind. I tried to shake it off. It hadn’t been two weeks since the last time we slept together and already I was horny. I blamed him. If he wasn’t so great, I wouldn’t crave him so much.
“I wouldn’t get too attached to it, he warned as I stroked his hair.
Instantly, I hoped he didn’t mean he was going to dye it again. It really was the only thing that slightly bothered me. The constant dyeing and bleaching worried me. “Are you getting another haircut?” I asked, hopeful.
“No, I’m bleaching it again,” he said cautiously.
I must have made a face.
“You say I look good blond,” he said immediately as if he was trying to ease my worry.
He really did good as a blond, but I doubted his scalp felt it was worth it.
“I promise to keep away from the mullet,” he offered like a negotiation—like I wouldn’t let him. “And it won’t be toobleached.”
I really didn’t want to make this a big deal. It was his goddamn hair. And he was a grown adult. No one in the company bullied him into doing anything he really didn’t want to do. That was years in the past. I really shouldn’t be a Debbie Downer about this.
I shook my head at myself. “Namjoon, I’m not your mother. It’s your hair. It’s up to you what you want to do with it.”
“Yeah, but you’re my girl. You’re gonna be the one mostly looking at it.”
I smiled at his title for me. I had missed it. And, honestly, it’s all I needed to make me stop worrying about his hair. I took ahold of his shirt and tugged at it, pulling his beauty closer. “Handsome, I mostly look at your gorgeous face. The hair is just there for me to pull at.”
He let out a low moan and filled the gap between us, kissing me open-mouthed.
Nothing but fake gags could be heard in the vehicle.
I pulled away from Namjoon, settling in my seat. “Anything I missed since I last saw you?”
“Just a bit of a mess with Jungkook and Yuna,” Jimin said, a mischievous look on his face.
“What happened?” I asked, fully absorbed in the gossip.
Hoseok went on to explain the mess the youngest member had recently gotten into that involved his girlfriend. It hadn’t been pleasant but thankfully had been cleaned up. The news outlets didn’t get wind of it, thankfully.
By the sounds of it, it seemed as if there was trouble in paradise with the young couple.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After a nice visit to LACMA, Namjoon and I arrived at my house with Kogi. We had eaten some of the tacos on the drive with Namjoon feeding me. The original idea had been to eat once getting to my house, but the smell had been too intoxicating. It was one of my favorite places to eat in LA and hadn’t had it in years. Initially, Namjoon didn’t deem it safe enough for me to eat while driving. I tried using logic, reminding him how good of a driver I was—I had been taught how to drive by my brother and cousins who were drag racers. When that didn’t work, I pouted. And finally, I got my first bite. At seeing my happy wiggle, he kept feeding me. I made a mental note about this—now I knew what would work later for my benefit.
We spoke a little about the crappy offers by the labels, Namjoon also believed there was something fishy going on.
"Haven't you mentioned before that your mother knows a lot of people?" he asked. "Why not see if she can snoop around to see what she can find?"
My stomach churned at the thought.
I didn't have to say anything for Namjoon to understand my physical response. I think he could even hear how upset my stomach was. "Is it really that difficult asking her for a favor? She's your mother, Maya."
Namjoon always wanted to see the best in people, but he had been blessed with amazing parents. He had never known what it felt like to be neglected—and I was grateful for that ignorance. "I trusted my mother a long time ago. More times than I can count. And she always manages to let me down. Do you know what that feels like? At age 2, 8, 14, 23 to trust another person enough with your emotions only for them to spit at them? I tell my mother I have a feeling that someone at my own old company is trying to sabotage me and she'll openly laugh at me—she's done it before on multiple occasions. I lost count of the number of times when she has said, word for word, 'no one cares about your feelings.'"
When I first started therapy, it had been difficult to admit these feelings I had about my mother—I could never get through it without crying. Now, it was easier. But it still cut deep.
"I'm sorry," Namjoon said gently, his hand soothing me.
I took a breath. "It's easy to let people in. But thanks to my parents' shitty job, it's hard to let someone back in. And I hit my limit with my parents. I can't anymore with them."
We finally arrived at my home. In silence, we got out of the vehicle once we were parked in the garage.
Namjoon grabbed his overnight bag and the bags of take-out and followed me into the home.
As I led us through the hall, I thought of the other guys. Namjoon and I decided to spend the day together visiting different spots in the LA area, the other guys were off doing their own thing, but I didn’t know what. As soon as I picked up Namjoon, I had forgotten to ask about the guys.
“What are the rest of the others doing today?” I asked, setting down the bag of leftovers on the kitchen island. I had eaten three tacos on the drive here, but I was still craving more.
Namjoon opened the containers; he was always down for eating. “Jin and Yoongi stayed at the hotel. The rest went to the Harry Styles concert. Tae’s the most excited. He’s been wanting to see him for a while.”
“That’s tonight?” I asked. The days sure were passing fast.
“Yeah. They might already be there.”
“That’s gonna be fun for them. Two years of being so cooped up, they deserve to have fun.”
Namjoon and I picked up the rest of the dishes we had bought. We had bought almost every item on the menu due to our indecisive.
As we ate, Namjoon went over one of the artists we had observed today at LACMA. I sat back, enjoying hearing him talk. He leaned over to my dish, which was across the table, and took a fork full of food. As he reached, his glasses slid down his nose a little. He pushed them back up. He in glasses was definitely one of my favorite looks on him.
He looked up at me, catching me. “What?”
I simply smiled and leaned into him. “Have I told you today that you’re pretty hot?”
“That’s out of nowhere.” He gave a shy smile but still filled the gap to capture my lips.
“I’m finding your bookworm look pretty damn sexy. You sit there with your hoodie, Timberlands, baseball cap, prescribed glasses, and talk about books and art—it’s a total turn-on.” My upper body was now fully on the counter, being pulled to his gravity.
There was a glint in his eye that looked a little mischievous. “Is it a fantasy of yours—doing it with a bookworm?”
The image made my pussy drip. “I can totally picture riding your face with those glasses on. They’ll be fogged and juiced up by the end of the night.”
Those dragon eyes came swam to the surface, making my skin burn. “You think it’s going to take me all night to get them foggy and juicy? Baby, I’ll have you cuming in less than 10 minutes.”
My cunt squeezed at the promise. It’d been two weeks since the last time we had had sex. But it honestly felt like two years.
Without another word, he walked around the counter, took my hand, and led me into the hall. “Where’s the master bedroom?” he asked, his voice tight and controlled.
“Double doors at the end of the hall,” I answered excitedly.
The moment we entered our destination, his lips were on mine, his tongue slipping in.
He was true to his word; no more than seven minutes later, I fell apart. My knees clenched around Namjoon’s head, my thighs holding his face captive around my center. His glasses were wrecked and soaking wet. His face was flushed and glistering with my juices. A laugh escaped me at the sight of him.
“I told you I was going to break them,” I let out as I pulled off his cracked specs and put them on the nightstand before his eyes could get damaged.
“And I told you it wouldn’t take me all night,” he countered. He leaned in and kissed my inner thigh.
I let out a giggle, pulling myself off him.
He rolled to his side and took me in his arms, his lips searching mine.
We stayed like that for a moment, with simple touches, and kisses until I regained my strength.
And then my hunger for him began to surface. I needed more. I needed him.
I found myself pushing him onto his back while I made my way down his massive physique. My hands tugged at his clothing while I gave attention to every piece of skin I could reach. I don’t think I had ever been so obsessed over a man’s body as I was with this divine creature before me. There wasn’t an inch of him that wasn’t glorious.
My mouth salivated at the sight of his cock waving in the air, dying for attention.
My hands and mouth wasted no time. My lips kissed the long vein on the underside of his shaft, holding eye contact with him the entire time. Once at the head, I wrapped both lips around it and sucked a little. My hand went up and down his thick girth. I let spit fall down his cock, which allowed my hand to work him with a better grip.
“Fuuuuuuuck, baby.” His hand twitched towards me, making a gesture towards my head, but held my cheek instead.
I pulled off his dick with a nice popping sound, liquid coming down the corners of my mouth. I stroked him as I asked him something I had been wanting to know since the first time I gave him head. “Do you want to fuck my mouth?”
His brown eyes went wide and his hand froze on my cheek.
I laughed darkly and I sank my head back down, not stopping until the head hit the back of my throat. I then quickly came back up and stroked him at a higher speed. “We have a safe signal. If it gets to be too much, I’ll let you know.”
He finally spoke up. “Are you sure?” he asked in the middle of a moan.
I nodded eagerly. “I really want to.” I twisted my wrist.
He let out a groan. “I want you to be sure,” he said gruffly.
“I trust you,” I said as my eyes looked directly at him.
His eyes turned soft for a moment and then the dragon eyes took over.
I maneuvered my way to the side of the bed and climbed off. I took Namjoon’s hand and tugged at it, signaling him to move towards me. He did, finding a seat on the side of the bed as I came to the ground, kneeling before him. There was a fire radiating off of his eyes. He had yet to blink, it seemed.
Taking his cock member in my mouth, I worked a good rhythm. When he still hadn’t moved, I placed my hands on his thick hips and went further down, sending his dick deep into my throat.
He let out a groan and began to move his hips on his own.
It didn’t take long for the feeling of his head hit the back of my throat. My jaw opened wider and I moved a different angle, allowing more of him inside me. My throat muscles clenched around his girth, a gag naturally coming out.
“Shit,” he let out, his hands holding onto my head.
I moved my body so it could allow my throat more room. I took more of him down my throat. His length pushed through my pharynx.
“Oh shit,” he let out, his hips acting on their own accord and pressing further in me.
It was too much, so my throat tightened hard against him. I took a deep breath from my nose, trying to ensure I got enough oxygen. I wanted to come up for full air, but the desire to live out the fantasy of Namjoon face fucking me was too great.
I pulled out a little and went back in, letting him know what pace I was good with.
He took the hint and began to rock and hips in the same rhythm. With every thrust, he goes a little further in me.
Because of his long length, it took a while before his full cock engulfed my throat. His face appeared to be full of ecstasy. His body was sweating bullets.
I wanted to keep the rhythm going but noticed the vein in his throat. He was trying to control his orgasm.
After taking a few breaths, he started to rock himself again. He fully pulled out of me, allowing me to take a full breath of fresh air before he went back in. Keeping eye contact with me, he pushed back into my mouth.
He bottomed out a lot easier and quicker this time. His eyes never left my face, ensuring I was ok with this. Once he was satisfied and confident that I was comfortable, he allowed himself to be in the moment.
As he worked himself in my throat, my pussy craved attention. I brought my fingers to my core, giving myself pleasure.
Namjoon’s hips crashed a little harder against me, his fingers dug into my hair with a little more force. I let out a hum as he impaled me, wanting to heighten his pleasure.
He cursed again. His member almost fully exited my throat but plunged back into me with plenty of vigor. There was a pause, looking for my reaction before he reenacted the same move.
My gagging was getting louder, the saliva coming down my throat in buckets, and my pussy was creating a pool at my feet.
“You look so fucking hot right now,” he lets out, almost breathless. His eyes fall to my legs. “Speed up those fingers, baby. Don’t cum yet.”
I let out a mewl, as I usually do when I hear that commanding tone of his.
“Almost,” he lets out, his powerful thighs hitting my face. I didn’t care, though. The look on his face was well worth it. “I’m cuming,” he warned.
While he thrust a few more times, I pushed the tip of my tongue along the bottom of his length. With one more push, my nose was pressed against his stomach as his warm seed went down my throat.
There was so much coming out of him; more than any of our other times together. I swallowed as much as I could, but plenty managed to spill out. Slowly, I pulled out of him, making sure to give the tip of him one final peck.
He was sweating bullets and he took in deep breaths. He looked as if he had just come out of the gym.
I reached over to the side of the bed where I had a box of tissues. I cleaned the both of us up. Usually, it was Namjoon that took care of us, but he was still trying to catch his breath. Once we were cleaned, we made our way to the center of the bed, cuddling.
Normally, oral sex tended to be foreplay for us. But we were both exhausted. It had been a long day of physical activity—inside and outside of the bedroom
With his arm around me, I found myself falling into a sweet sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Apparently, we had been more exhausted than we realized. It was close to sundown when we realized how long we had slept. Knowing we would just continue to sleep if we stayed in bed, we forced ourselves out and decided to take a stroll along the beach. We needed physical activity to wake us up. Plus, the sunset setting would be a nice view for a picture I could take of Namjoon. My property was incredibly close to the beach and had a private entrance that no many used.
As we made our way down the path that led to the water, I kept an eye out for people, making sure we were alone before reaching out to take his hand in mine.
The move made him smile. “Have you talked to your parents?” he asked.
I imagine he was referring to Thanksgiving dinner. I knew he was excited to meet my family. “A little. I haven’t talked to my mother much—except for the other day that I met with her. I told her that I wanted to have Thanksgiving at my place.”
“What did she say?” he asked.
I shrugged. “Nothing, really. I’m not too sure she was happy at the idea of it being at my place. She likes to host. But Seb and Victor already agreed with my place. She also didn’t say anything about that. So, I’m taking silence as compliance. She was pretty non-verbal after that.”
Remembering the conversation just brought irritation. Why my mother could never act like an adult was beyond me. She dodged talking about issues and would later be passive-aggressive. I had been here for only a few weeks, but I already wanted to leave again.
Namjoon reached over to me and gave me a side hug, trying to soothe me.
I leaned into his embrace, allowing myself to relax at his touch. I had already vented to him about the meetings I had with the labels during our car ride. It really had been a long day.
We continued to walk down the path, hearing the ocean waves. We came apart once we were down in the sand. We took notice of a few people present. We kept a small distance between us but weren’t too far from each other.
We walked side by side along the shore, only saying a few words. Our focus was mostly on the scenery in front of us. As the sun set, I took full advantage and took several photos of Namjoon. He insisted on taking one together. I gave in and he handled the selfie.
There was no one present anymore, except for a couple off in the far distance. The sun was fully gone and now the moon was starting to shine. And the coast still looked just as gorgeous.
In the two years I had been gone, I had almost forgotten how beautiful it was. Although I had come to love Seoul, there was something about California that made it irreplaceable. The water, beach, sands, mountains, and coast couldn’t be matched. I had traveled the world and California was still among the most beautiful places.
“I can see why you chose this place,” Namjoon’s voice lingered in the chilly air. His face was turned towards the sea, watching the waves lightly crashing onto the shore.
My eyes stayed on his face, admiring how the moon’s light bounced on all the right angles. Shadows were created but only amplified his features. The wind moved through the water and his hair. It really looked like he belonged to the night.
I took it back, there was another beauty that took top tier.
“What?” he asked, catching me ogling at him.
There was zero embarrassments I felt. Without shame, I would openly gawk at his magnificence. “You’re so handsome,” I said dreamingly. “When moon rise, it’s your time to shine.”
He turned away, trying to hide his shy smile.
I let out a laugh. “So cute.” I poked his side.
His dimples deepened. I saw the glint in his eyes before he could make a move.
I was already planning on dodging him before he reached for me. But before he made a move, I noticed something from the corner of my eye. I turned my head and found a couple several yards away, walking towards us. They were both young Asian women.
 My heard accelerated, frightened at being caught. I moved several feet away from Namjoon just as he made to reach me.
I turned my head away from the pair of eyes that were getting closer to us. I put some more distance between the two young women as they reached. We exchanged smiles, but I did my best to hide my face in the shadows. I hoped Namjoon did the same.
The two women walked between us and continued on their walk opposite us. They didn’t show any indication of knowing either one of us. Their faces and strides kept forward. Once they were far away, I fell into step with Namjoon. I let out a sigh, relieved we hadn’t been caught.
However, Namjoon stepped away from me. “No, maybe we should wait until we’re back at your place before you get too close. Wouldn’t want you to feel uncomfortable.” His voice was harsh and bitter.
I turned to him, confused. His eyes were knitted together, his chin set forward, and his jaw clenched. “What?”
“You must have jumped a good ten feet. Even with complete strangers, you don’t like the thought of anyone knowing we’re an item.” I could hear the hurt in his words, but his main emotion was annoyance.
I chose my words carefully and did my best to keep my voice steady and soft. “Namjoon, we do the same thing in Korea. On the rare times when we’re in public, we keep a good amount of distance between us. I didn’t jump away from you because I’m ashamed of you. I stepped away because I was worried they would recognize us.”
His facial features didn’t waiver. “We’re in America, I’m not as recognized here as I am in Korea. And just because they’re Asian doesn’t automatically mean they know me.”
There was an accusation in his statement that hinted at my being ignorant. It stung because he was right, I had made an assumption: they were Asian, so more than likely they knew about BTS. However, the harshness in his words made it seem as if my assumption was more sinister than naïveté.
I tried to mask the hurt. “Even you guys have mentioned whenever you’re in a foreign land that the ones who recognize you immediately are Asian. And I was only being careful. Especially after Jungkook’s close call. I apologize if it came off wrong; that wasn’t my intent.”
It was moments when we walked in silence, letting the incident hang in the air. Our thoughts played the scene over and over again and I was positive he was wondering the same as I: what would have been a better way of handling that situation?
The chill in the air started to physically affect me. I felt goosebumps along my arm and my body began to involuntarily shiver. No more than a few seconds later, I felt a heaviness around my shoulders, Namjoon’s scent hit me powerfully. He had taken off his hoodie for me.
“I’m sorry,” he said deeply. “I shouldn’t have said it that way. It’s a constant reminder that we can’t be ourselves whenever we want. Jungkook and Yuna did have a close call and it was a mess covering it up. Most of what I have, I’m grateful for. But every now and then I’m reminded of the negative attributes of being an idol.”
I could see and hear his own hurt. Even though I was well-known myself, my dating life was kept under the radar due to my own personal decisions. I was a private person who never confirmed or denied any of my relationships. But I never worried about any paparazzi taking pictures of me with my partner. If I was caught holding hands or kissing someone, I didn’t care. It didn’t affect my business. However, the same could not be said about Namjoon or any of the other guys. Our worlds, realities, and cultures differed in that aspect.
“I’m sorry,” I said softly to him, not knowing what else I could say.
He gave a small shrug. “It is what it is.”
I wanted nothing more than to stretch out my fingers to hold his hand. But we were still out in public. Several people were out that could still recognize us. I settled for taking a whiff of his sweater, making sure he saw me doing so.
The dimples on his face told me he understood me. He always understood me.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was the first to arrive on the red carpet before the guys, but eventually, they caught up to me.
Namjoon and I hadn’t seen each other beforehand. He had gotten ready at the hotel and I had gotten ready at home. However, we timed so we would arrive at the same time.
As I posed for photos, the guys made their way closer to me. Up at the very front of the line was a damn good-looking Kim Namjoon. He looked dashing in his grey suit and blond hair. As my eyes landed on his handsome facial features, I noticed his eyes roaming over my dress. It was a halter-top, flowy material that had a split along one of my legs. The split reached my upper thigh, almost my pelvic. It hugged and highlighted my best features: legs and chest. And the yellow material complimented my skin tone. I would be lying if I said I hadn’t kept Namjoon in mind while deciding on this outfit a while back ago.
Hearing my name being called out, I snapped me back to the present. I resumed posing and form the corner of my eye, I could see the guys starting to pose as well.
Once the round of photos had ended, I publicly greeted the guys at the first opportunity. We took a few photos together and continued on. Namjoon and I did our best to keep some distance between us.
While most of the time, I spent time doing solo interviews, there were multiple hosts who insisted on interviewing me with the guys. Many forgot we were friends and I had been living in Korea for the last two years. As soon as the media remembered, the guys and I were almost stuck at the hip for a handful of interviews.
As we were talking to one of the hosts, Hoseok had been asked a question. I tried to move back to allow Hoseok to get closer to the mic, but in so doing, I lost my footing. If I had been wearing normal shoes, I would have been able to balance, but I was wearing 5-inch heels. My arms shot up, trying to keep myself upright.
A warm set of hands caught me, keeping me from making a fool of myself in front of millions of people.
I looked up to find Namjoon’s hands on me. His instincts had kicked in. A look of worry on his face. “Are you hurt?” he asked with concern, keeping me steady, and searching me.
Other hands took my arm or held my back, ensuring I was safe.
I let out a nervous laugh. “That would have been embarrassing,” I said to the interviewer.
“Good thing these gentlemen were here to save you,” commented the interviewer. “Nice work, boys.”
“Thanks, guys,” I said. Hoseok and Jimin made sure I looked nice and steady before they let me go. Once they saw I was ok, they too let out a laugh.
“Wow,” said the interviewer. “They got really worried for you.”
Namjoon’s hands were still on me and the look of concern on his face still had not left.
He needed to stop—we were in public. There were dozens of cameras on us. I thought of something quickly to stop any fans and onlookers from reading too much into this. “They’re like my brothers, so they’re pretty protective. Very sweet.” I reached up and pinched Namjoon and Hobi’s cheeks.
Hobi giggled while Namjoon took his hands from me, getting the hint. Quickly, the conversation went elsewhere.
I hoped it worked.
The night continued without any other incident. I ended up winning the award I was up for. As I made my way up the stage with the singer I had created the song for, the guys stood up and cheered the loudest. It was very cute.
The guys went on to win plenty of awards themselves.
Finally, I was up for my least favorite part of the night: presenting.
Even though I was fine at meeting new people and thrived when I performed on stage, I always disliked getting in front of a group of strangers and presenting. While I knew most of the people in the audience, I wasn’t friends with them. They were colleagues and standing in front of all of them was not fun. It was anxiety really, just a dislike. And despite how much I hated it, goddamn Kim Taehyung managed to convince me to take this stupid job.
I was presenting the night’s most important category, which only made it more fun. Among the nominees were the guys which only added to the list of reasons why I didn’t want to do this.
Everyone in the industry knew I was close to them, so I was confident they would be winning. The night had been centered around them. They had won multiple times already. This would be the cherry on top of a record-breaking night for them. However, I was still hesitant to fully believe they would win.
After the last of the nominees had been announced, I got ready to announce the winner. “And the award goes to,” I tore open the paper and read the winner written on it. “BTS!” I cheered.
The fans went wild, of course.
All seven of them took a gracious bow and made their way over to the stage where I stood.
We were keeping social distancing for the awards, but I made sure to fist-bump every one of them at least. I'd hug them later when we were alone.
When I reached Namjoon, I could see him shaking with nerves. I took notice of how the others were wrapped around us, covering us from prying eyes and cameras. I took advantage of the window of opportunity. “Take a breath, baby,” I said under my breath so only he could hear.
His vision refocused as he looked at me. I gave him a smile and turned away.
I took my place off to the side, giving them center stage. Namjoon rubbed his hands together—a habit of his when he got too nervous or anxious—and took a breath as I had suggested, and made his way to the mic.
He stumbled his way into the half-remembered speech he had written and practiced numerous times. Even after all these years and the amount of success he had, he still got genuinely elated and surprised when they were rightly recognized. The beauty of his humbleness squeezed at my heart.
God, he was perfect. And damn me, because I was finding myself falling even deeper for him.
