नक्सलवाद से निपटने में सीआरपीएफ की भूमिका की अमित शाह ने की तारीफ, कहा- लड़ाई अब अंतिम चरण में | Amit Shah praises the CRPF's role in fighting naxalism and claims the battle is now in its concluding stages;

[ad_1] Celebrating a decade of India’s CSR Legislation and Coal India’s CSR institutionalisation, the 3rd CIL CSR conclave began today in Kolkata. Inaugurating the Conclave, Dr. C V Ananda Bose, the Governor of West Bengal and the Chief Guest of the event, appreciated the CSR initiatives of Coal India Limited. Referring to the social commitment of CIL, Sh Bose said that “we are living in a transformational era and we have to see beyond the boundaries which is essential for building relationships”. Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) umbrella CIL had spent Rs. 5,579 Crores in a decade, since CSR’s institutionalization, which is higher by 31 percent than the statutory requirement. CIL is among the top three corporates of the country in CSR spend. Beginning FY 2015, the first year of statutorily mandated CSR, in a ten year span till FY 2024 CIL was mandated to spend Rs.4,265 Crores but the company was ahead of it by Rs. 1,314 Crores. The annual average CSR spend was Rs. 558 crores during this period. Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary, Ministry of Coal and the Guest of Honour said that CSR is an article of faith for CIL and its subsidiaries and beginning January there would be theme-based CSR every month. Speaking on the occasion, Shri P M Prasad, Chairman CIL added that CIL is committed to CSR activities and has spent Rs. 5,570 Crores on CSR during the last decade on pan India basis much of it focused on health and education. CIL’s concentrated focus on health care, education and livelihood is reflected by the fact that, of the decade’s total CSR spend of Rs.5,579 Crores these three essentials accounted for 71% at Rs.3,978 Crores. Health care topped with Rs.2,770 Crores at close to 50% of the total outlay. Education and livelihood comprised Rs.1,208 Crores, over one-fifth of the total. The remaining amount was spread across rural development, and other themes like environmental sustainability, promotion of sports, disaster management etc. 95 percent of CSR funds were utilized in eight operational states, with a focus on Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. In respect of fund allocation, as per the ‘Companies Act 2013’, CSR budget of CIL and its subsidiaries is earmarked at 2% of the average net profit (profit before tax, less dividend) of the three immediately preceding financial years or Rs. 2 per tonne of coal produced in the previous financial year, whichever is higher. As per the policy, CIL’s subsidiaries may spend 80% of their CSR fund within 25 Km radius of their command areas and the rest 20% in the State where they operate. The apex body CIL is not restrained by such geographical barriers giving it a greater leeway to take up CSR projects on pan India basis. Speaking at the event, Vinay Ranjan, Director (Personnel) of CIL said that CIL is the first CPSE in India to introduce community Development cadre in 2014 to have a microscopic focus on CSR. Government Encourages Three States To Boost Pulse Production, Providing Uncapped MSP
For the first time, the Center is collaborating methodically with farmers in Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh to plant kharif pulses like tur, urad, and moong even before the planting season officially begins, with the assurance that their harvest will be purchased indefinitely at the minimum support price (MSP). According to a senior official, the goal is to decrease reliance on imports and enhance the cultivation of pulses. Nonetheless, the official—who wished to remain anonymous—stated that the government had not established a production target. Based on data from the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry, the production of pulses in 2022–2023 was 2.85 million tonnes in Uttar Pradesh, 761,000 tonnes in Jharkhand, and 450,000 tonnes in Bihar. According to the official, the Center has not previously purchased pulses from these states.

The Ministry has also executed 9 agreements with successful bidders of 10th round of auctions. These mines upon operationalisation will generate Annual Revenue of Rs. 1,446 crores calculated at PRC of these coal mines and will provide employment to approximately 19,000 people. The Ministry of Coal has taken a series of reforms to ensure that the coal sector grows at a rapid pace and is able to meet the country’s energy needs. For 11th round also, Mines falling under protected areas, wildlife sanctuaries, critical habitats, having forest cover greater than 40%, heavily built-up area etc. have been excluded. The block boundaries of some of the coal mines where there was presence of dense habitation, high green cover or critical infrastructure etc. have been revised to improve the attractiveness of the coal mines. Addressing the gathering, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, emphasized that coal remains the cornerstone of India’s energy landscape, asserting that power generation is unimaginable without it. He highlighted the transformative impact of coal block auctions in achieving energy security, fostering self-reliance, and reducing dependency on imports. Union Minister, Reddy reaffirmed the Government’s dedication to boost domestic coal production to meet the nation’s energy demand. The Minister further reiterated the Government’s commitment to uplift local communities, emphasizing that coal auctions and mining activities go beyond economic growth. They also aim to empower communities by creating employment opportunities, improving infrastructure, and enhancing education and healthcare in coal mining regions. Shri Reddy expressed confidence that these reforms would position India as a global leader in sustainable mining practices while ensuring energy security. He also highlighted the Government of India’s Financial Incentive Scheme with an outlay of ₹8,500 crore to promote Coal and Lignite Gasification projects. This initiative, he noted, is a pivotal step toward achieving India’s ambitious target of 100 million tonnes of coal gasification by 2030. By encouraging cleaner and more efficient technologies, the scheme aims to reduce reliance on imported natural gas, lower carbon emissions, and pave the way for sustainable energy development. In his keynote address, Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary, Ministry of Coal highlighted the crucial role of policy reforms in creating an ecosystem that encourages innovation, reduces production costs, and meets the growing energy demands of the nation without compromising on environmental standards. He further emphasised on inter-ministerial collaboration, particularly with the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of Steel. Secretary, also spoke about the modernization efforts that are reshaping the sector, leveraging advanced technology to improve productivity, worker safety, and environmental management.
He underscored the pivotal role of First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects in expediting coal evacuation, ensuring efficient transportation, and reducing environmental impact.
