It reminded me of @discoedelysium ‘s post about how Viktor’s body language in the scene is a directly reflection of how much more confident he is now that he is inhabiting a body with no limitations; how he feels powerful, feels perfect, and is thus able to meet Jayce head on in a fight that is borderline flirtatious. How afterward—when Jayce rejects Viktor’s invitation to stand by his side, and he and Mel combine efforts to destroy the automaton—that all of his posturing crumbles and he shrinks down onto himself

(I will forever be sobbing over Viktor’s face here when Jayce uses his hammer blast against him like jfc)

I'm still parsing my feelings a Mel stan and like an objective, "was this a good story choice" viewer. But Mel telling Jayce how much she believed in his ideals only for him to immediately try to hit her felt real low. And Mel barely getting an apology from him, not getting any closure with him- idk man to throw in something as heavy as that and then just address it with "I'm sorry I've been an ass"? Like it wouldn't even have had to be Jayce actually doing right by her. Just any form of us seeing Mel mourning the life and world she wanted. Mel being badass and outfoxing Ambessa and the Black Rose was cool and all but there's this sadness with her that we don't see realized at all and it feels dehumanizing to her character in an insulting way.

The Defender's lax form is pressed into his side, and he seems to be sleeping pretty hard, gentle breaths the only indicator he's even alive -

"Mm. Solnyshka. Beloved? Oh, you egotistical lump- wake. Wake up."

Viktor whispers one more time, but then since he can't seem to wake the other, his HexClaw plucks off the visor from the table, and he puts it on, the click into place signaling it being worn. The Zaunite adjusts to the way the shimmermetal connects to the voice modulator and the orange lenses that looks fearful in the light. Smirking and chuckling low under his mask, Viktor manuveurs the HexClaw to charge up a nonlethal blast. It was enough to be menacing, enough to hopefully help wake him.

"DEFENDER!" he shouts, "I HAVE COME TO RAID YOUR LAB!"

Of course, he hadn't. But perhaps this might be the only way to wake @futureforged.

Ok so after writing my super depressing extended version of the Jayce/Viktor breakup scene in 2.02, I'm sort of have a craving to write a Jayvik fic that:

Lets me play around with their voices until I get them "right", because I actually think Jayce and Viktor are quite unusual characters who buck a lot of male stereotypes and that makes them very interesting and challenging to write (as in, I've rarely see it done "correctly")

Something a bit more "slice of life" from the good ol' days of their early partnership, because hooo boy the events of Season 2 are just really really depressing and I miss early days Viktor when he still had a spark of hope in his eyes jfc

Would you see this AU following the in series cannon of Jayce rushing to Viktor’s bedside at the hospital and trying to help him find a cure (unaware he’s the affliction)? Would Viktor die (actually die full stop), not from the attack on the council but from succumbing to the disease, and would Jayce try to bring him back using unsavory resources? Is it possible (something my sick and twisted brain just came up with mid rant jfc) that when Jayce tries to resuscitate Viktor before this via CPR and rescue breathing that he also contracts the disease? Would Viktor be cured when he wakes but feel nothing, leave Jayce to begin his S2 Arc, and unbeknownst to him trigger Jayce’s disease to spread? Like????? Dear god 😭

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this omg, the angstier the better 🩷

If we’re looking for the most gut-wrenching scenarios, I’ve got a few truly heartbreaking ones:

Jayce finds out about Viktor’s illness but still can’t bring himself to love him. Viktor is the most important person in his life—his friend, almost like a brother. But not his beloved. So for the rest of the time they have, Jayce is consumed by guilt, and in the end, he loses Viktor right in his arms. That guilt stays with him for the rest of his life, even though it’s the last thing Viktor would have wanted.

Using Hextech, Jayce discovers a way to cure Viktor. He untangles the plants from Viktor’s lungs, but along with them, Viktor loses all feelings for him—even their friendship. And some time later, Jayce coughs up his first petal...

1) Childhood Viktor experiences disability that is caused/exacerbated by systemic injustice.

2) Season 1 Viktor saves Jayce's life, tldr season 1 happens

3) s1 finale/ s2 opener: "Viktor, do you really have Zaunite friends? I thought you were one of the good ones?" "Viktor, I violated your expressed concerns about the hextech and your bodily autonomy in a profound way plz stay 🥺" "Viktor plz help make WMDs it'll be like old times"

4) s2 episodes 1-6: Viktor makes the Healthy and Sensible Choice to leave Piltover, becomes Jesus, creates a utopia

5) s2 ep7-9: Ambessa mostly, but also fucking everyone, make their problems Viktor's problems by exploiting Viktor's health issues. Viktor tries to be level headed and fair for awhile, but there is a little bit of hive mind fuckery. Like, less than one episode of non-con mind control during an active battle.

6) s2 ep9: Jayce is just So Benevolent and So Sweet for forgiving Viktor's actions. Jayce has always loved Viktor's imperfections 💕🎉🥺🩼 Viktor's mobility limitations and shortened lifespan are just 💯

The other characters are so fucking lucky that Viktor is as chill as he is, I would have been enacting violence WAY SOONER. Fuck everyone in Piltover, get the fuck off my boy Viktor's organic free range porch that harnesses the run-off pollution of rich people to make something great.

Jayce is such a little bitch this season jfc. I mean yeah he did get plot-tortured a bit but I don't see much evidence that his dumb ass actually learned from that experience so I mean, what was the point?
