I finished the animated painting of my OC Neilah :D I took a lot of time to paint this out and I had to do a lot of revisions/repaints. The original sketch looks nothing like the final painting but I'm so glad that I bit the bullet and re-started it.
My goal with it was to really show the details of her design and communicate her personality. All the time I spent was worth it in the end to get this!
Animating is so fun but hard yo. Although I knew I wanted to animate this painting, at the time I didn't really know how to properly set up the layers to animate, so I merged a lot of layers that shouldn't have been merged and ended up having to painstakingly split them later. I learned so much though so hopefully I can avoid making the same mistakes next time.

Second themed sketch session with @jezahna, today's theme was cottage.
I wasn’t able to get all of the details in before the timer ran out as the piece was a little ambitious, and I feel I need to work on atmospheric values more in future drawings as well, but I’m happy I was able to make as far as I did with this piece. :>
Will be linking to @jezahna ‘s artwork and our next video as soon as they’re up!
Sketch of another OC of mine named Olin! He was part of a comic that I briefly started drafting up when I was a teen. He's a registered member of the fun police and takes himself too seriously... calm down man!
A space fairing pirate operating from a stolen ship - and holding the owner for ransom to the corporatocratic government. This is my OC Neilah from an old story. I never developed the story beyond some world-building but I remember I wanted to make the story into an animated series (as a 14-year-old with no animation knowledge whatsoever 😅).
This was originally just supposed to be a pic for my profile but since I took the time to make it animation ready, I thought I might as well go the whole way. I’m really happy with it :D

Next in my portrait experiments. I think this was the most successful attempt in balancing sketchiness with painting, and I also played a little bit with the style.
Another from my recent portrait phase 😅 I briefly got bored of drawing expressionless girls but don’t worry I bounced back after this haha
Also this was supposed to be a sketch but I’ve been getting a little carried away and rendering them. Ultimately I’m trying to get better at creating clean digital sketches without getting into too much rendering but I find it’s a fine line between the two, as a painter I just want to go in and add dimension to contours.
