Cadmus: A quick personality guide

As it takes me 10 forevers to actually update my blog, I have written up a quick guide to his personality for those who are RPing, or wish to RP with this dork.

He is guilty. All his life, he has regretted killing the Ismenian Serpent. It lead to him eventually become one himself. Also deeply regrets not being able to find Europa. He eventually did find out what happen to her after he helps Zeus kill Typhon.

Due to him killing the dragon, he had to spend 8 years serving Aries as that dragon was his son. Even then, he still felt guilty. Aries even forgave him.

His family is fucking dysfunctional as hell. His children, grand children and fuck all, god knows what got involved in a shit load of betrayal, taking over and even more betrayal. This lead him to eventually abandon Thebes.

Cadmus is loyal. He was loyal to his parents. Loyal to the gods. And most importanly, he was devoted to his wife. And in turn, she was too. Harmonia immediately asked to be turned into a serpent once he did. Zeus felt sorry for them and guided them to Elysium.

He can see the worst and best in anything. He is cautious, yet reckless. Brave, yet cowardly. He has a lot of traits that are the complete opposites. 

Cadmus always listened to the gods. No matter what they had said, he followed. This is true for any master who he respects. He does, however, have rather low standards. As long as you aren’t the scum of the earth, he’ll listen to you.

He fucking loves Harmonia, man. Like. Really loves her. You have no idea.

As a result, he isn’t interested in pursuing romance nor a sexual relationship with anyone other than her.

His life was full of misfortune and regret. Partly due to guilt, and partly because of that asshole Hephaestus’ necklace that was given to his wife. 

‘Cadmus and Harmonia  received a number of gifts from the gods: a jewelset throne from Hera, a lyre or perhaps a sceptre from Hermes, a crown from Hephaestus, a spear from Ares, the Robe & Necklace from Athena or perhaps Aphrodite or Hephaestus or even Europa, and sacred rites of the mother of the gods Rhea along with cymbals and kettledrums from Electra  the Pleiad, who is said to have nursed Harmonia’ As you can see, the gods loved the shit out of them for whatever reason. He was even given the honour of listening to the muses sing. A feat that Peleus, father of Achilles was also able to achieve. Cadmus was descibed to be the greatest man of his time.

Hey may seem like a dumbass but he was the one that brought the Alphabet into use, and was credited for the genius fucking idea of bringing consonants and vowels together. You’re welcome world.

As a result from all of this stress, he has gained the habit of chain smoking in this modern era, summoned as a servant. He also likes to read, listen to music (and play on his flute), grab something to drink, and just generally likes to see what the modern world has to offer.

Often, he is a melancholic and is lost in thought. He is introverted, and never really wants to talk to other people. If his sister or wife were to appear before him as fellow servants, he will probably become more sociable. But generally, Cadmus likes to keep to himself.

To oversimplify things: he is a sad man who did some great things. But to him, it was never enough to atone for his sins.
