My mom cooked me breakfast for my birthday. It's a simple meal but it means so much. I remember spending my 10th birthday alone because both my parents were actively addicted to drugs. The black and white picture of me when I was 17 at the beginning of my senior year. At the time, I was living with another family because my mother was still using drugs. She wasn't at my graduation because of the same stuff. Today, 14 years later, She gave me a VERY nice card, $31 (because that is what you do when someone turns 31), a meal, and a loving relationship that I desired for all those years. The Kyle in that picture prayed for what the Kyle behind the camera is experiencing. It has been said that pornography is the gateway to "greater evils." While it is true that lawlessness leads to more lawlessness, one of the main reasons why pornography has run rampant in our churches is due to the fact that we have treated it as a "lesser sin." We rationalize it by saying we don't indulge in it as much as we used to. We attempt to justify it by saying it keeps us from committing "greater sins" like adultery and fornication but family...if you're #married you are committing adultery by watching it and if you're #single you are committing fornication by watching it. We cannot expect to walk in freedom if we try to make excuses for this monster to remain in our lives. Make no mistake about it: If you're addicted to something, that THING is your MASTER.
