This is one of my first posts in here. And my feelings has only become stronger! I still love David Tennant to bits even though I don't show it so often anymore ♥️
Why I love David Tennant
Yes - I know there are MANY reasons to love David Tennant! But I just feel like putting it into my own words. I’m sorry if my language and grammar isn’t correct - I’m from Denmark, so English isn’t my main language. But I hope its understandable anyway! So, here are 3 reasons why I love David Tennant: 1. He is the MOST BRILLIANT actor David has a very rare and extraordinary talent, and he has an ability to play many different roles and characters. He is like a chameleon! He can make me feel things that no other actor has ever had the ability to. I think it’s because he is a stage actor as much as a television actor. I’ve had the pleasure to see him in Richard II, and his stage presence is out of this world - it’s magic! He catches the eye and you never stop looking at him. He’s truly amazing both on stage, on TV and in the movies. Like they said in his tribute video, when he won The NTAs Special Recognition Award: The audience just connects with him and once you’ve seen him, you just want to know more. 2. He seems like an utterly good human being Whenever he is interviewed, he just seems to be so sweet and open. And intelligent! He’s such a dork but he doesn’t hide it - he knows and he embraces it! And then I love the way he is with his fans. I’ve also had the pleasure to meet him after a Richard II performance - and he was fantastic! He takes his time and seems sincerely interested in the people who just want 5 seconds of interaction with him. Also, I actually like the fact, that he keeps his private life so… Private! It must be SO hard to have the work he has and still keep up a happy family life. His fans, including myself, mostly loves him because of what he do - because of his job. Of course it’s very nice to see and hear those little snippets of his private life - but I really don’t think I would want to know more than he tells us. It would feel like intruding or something like that. That said, I can imagine him being the most loving father and husband and I get so happy every time he shows his adoration towards his family (Okay, 99% happy and 1 % jealous… And I guess some, especially female, fans know what I mean) 3. He is an inspiration David Tennant actually changed my life. When I started watching Doctor Who (RTD era) I was down with depression and angst. But seeing David in Doctor Who somehow gave me hope. I don’t really know why, it just did. And then when I went to London and saw him on and off stage, it made me realise that if you have a dream or a goal that just seems impossible - it can actually happen. Dreams CAN come true! And that is what my meeting with DT has meant to me. And I know I’m not the only one who feels this way. He inspire people, gives them hope. He makes people all over the world get in contact because they share the same love for this wonderful man! Even I’ve made new friends, just because we love DT. And that’s a very big thing in my world! Thank you, David Tennant, for being the amazing, wonderful and fantastic man you are! Keep it up! I can’t wait to see more of him in 2016!

The M.C.U and Disney +
Probably not everyone know this(or probably don’t care) but we had a group of very good Marvel shows with very interesting plots and characters that were supposed to be part of the MCU but the movies never gave them the recognition to the characters and what they were doing in it.
We had Marvel Agents of Shield, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, The Punisher, Cloak and Dagger, Marvel Runaways, Dare Devil, Agent Carter.
We were supposed to have a Ghost Rider show that the character was introduced on Agents of Shield and Marvel most Wanted that were also introduced on the same show(Agents of Shield).
And for a lot of time; most of these shows tried to include the stories of the movies so it could show the repercussions outside of the areas the movies were.
However, Marvel and Disney completely ignore them. And it really feels weird how they practically concluded that none of those shows were important or they didn’t care about them(check interviews from Agents of Shield talking about it) but when DIsney+ was created they decide to cancel most of the other shows and create shows in the new platform expressing how important the shows from Disney+ are gonna be for the new phase of the MCU and that is almost obligatory to watch those shows to understand what is about to happen.
I personally consider that is a shady thing to do; and more when most of the shows outside Disney+ where still on production and with open plotlines to explore when they abruptly were canceled.
And that kind of thing really makes me a little angry, but I expected that somehow phase 4 fixed most of those things; and this is how I would love to show a few things about it:
1. Thanks to WandaVision we know that S.W.O.R.D exists on the MCU. That Agency is supposed to be on space. Right know, Daisy Johnson is in Space. I would love to have her connect to SWORD and any of the projects that are over there( for Far from Home we see Fury on space).
2. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier can very easy introduce again Bobbi Morse. Her character would be perfect for that show.
3. Jessia Jones and Carol Danvers has one of the best friendship on Marvel; and Carol group of Jessica’s is very good. She could joined Carol in any way. If we have Jessica Luke needs to come too.
4. Iron Fist could be connect it to Shang-Chi.
5. Ghost Rider can easily connect to anything magic, so whatever comes after Dr. Strange would be perfect.
Those are my options but there are so many characters and options it could be perfect any other way.
Those anyone else have another idea?

A Humanitarian Crisis Within a Space of Exception
By Nya Jones ‘23
The Sonoran Desert of Arizona has become a graveyard for more than 8,000 human beings who attempted to cross the border from Mexico into the United States since 1998. Unfortunately, the actual number of migrant deaths will remain unknown due to the immensity of the desert. Federal policies like Prevention Through Deterrence are unequivocally linked to the death of Migrants.
The Immigration Enforcement Strategy known as “Prevention Through Deterrence” reveals how structural violence and the desert are harnessed to inflict suffering and death on undocumented migrants. PTD allows Border Patrol to direct migrants—through enforcement practices—into more hostile and desolate terrain, resulting in numerous migrant deaths as well as the erasure of identities and bodies. In addition, PTD documents use sterilized discourse to downplay the human cost of federal policy. The policies rhetoric masks what Jason De León describes as a “geopolitical space of exception” where migrants are subject to—dehydration, violent smugglers, mistreatment, and sexual abuse.
In 1994, the US Border Patrol implemented the Immigration Enforcement Strategy known as “Prevention Through Deterrence” to reduce the number of illegal crossings. The policy is enforced by militarizing the border with “high fencing and hundreds of agents” to cut migrants off from traditional entry points and deter them towards more hostile terrain (De León & Eduard 2016). Border cities such as Tijuana, El Paso, and Nogales increased their security measures and number of personnel to restrict the movement of migrants—funneling them into areas ill-suited for crossing. Migrants are up against the challenging terrain of the desert where they may “walk for days while negotiating extreme weather conditions, venomous animals and other dangers” (De León & Eduard 2016). Therefore, the desert is state-crafted geopolitical terrain that is weaponized as a means of deterrence. Ultimately, Border Patrol actively relies on the harsh conditions of the environment “while simultaneously giving the federal agency plausible deniability regarding blame for any victims the desert may claim” (De León 2015, 29-30).
The language of deterrence also plays a huge role in downplaying the human cost of policy on migrants. Reports on PTD use diluted discourse for example, the environment went from being described as “hostile” to “inhospitable”. This type of language allows for the geopolitical space of exception to be masked. Anthropologist Jason De León states that “Having your body consumed by wild animals is but one of many “exceptional” things that happen in the Sonoran Desert as a result of federal immigration policies” (De León 2015, 27-28). Tess E. Hamilton-Ward observed that migrants are “referenced in policy, reports, and the press as “illegals,” their deaths as “unintended consequences” of PTD” (Hamilton-Ward 2019, 43). The language shifts the blame to the migrants, making it seem as though they went against the direction of the US.
Prevention Through Deterrence is still being used on the U.S./Mexico border despite its failure. Jason De León argues that a major misconception about the border is that increased security and over militarization will stop undocumented migrant flows (De León 2015, 100). However, migrants rely on the US informal economy to support their families and themselves and this drives them at all cost to cross. Over five million undocumented migrants have crossed the desert since 2000 despite the dangers of the desert (De León & Eduard 2016). Therefore, the looming obstacles of the desert and formidable border have little to no impact on a migrant's decision to cross. Migrants keep a bigger picture at the forefront of their minds. Migrants know that crossing is a chance for survival, not a guarantee and they will risk being detained or ultimately dying for that chance. According, to the Undocumented migration project “PTD has failed to deter migration but has succeeded in shaping border crossing into a well-organized and violent social process with a unique set of material culture and technologies” (De León & Eduard 2016).
The goal of PTD is to deter illegal entry into the United States. The federal government has also prosecuted and charged volunteers who provide humanitarian aid to migrants with “harboring unauthorized aliens” (Varjacques & Jessia 2019). Thus, from a Federal perspective, migration is viewed as illegal and as a threat to state sovereignty. However, the underlying nature of their policy is inhuman, unethical, and does not address the root causes of migration.
The US border patrol and federal agency have fabricated a humanitarian crisis within a space of exception. However, this crisis is removed from the public eye due to the isolated nature of the desert and the fact non-migrants rarely see dynamics of the “geopolitical space of exception.” Ultimately, people should know that PTD is linked to migrant fatalities through the weaponization of the desert. Seeing the impact of this policy should make you question humanity. However, we must fight the desensitizing impact of graphic images and tragic stories to appreciate migrants as human beings and better understand the violence that accompanies the process of migration. We can no longer be passive bystanders. We all have a moral obligation to be active advocates for those who are subjected to violence, suffering, and death by policy.
