Sorry for taking so long to answer the asks but I need some time to ruminate on the facts asks 😆 For the other anons who are also asking for Ash’s facts, I swear I’m not ignoring them 😅 I need time to think about the fun facts. I think I’ll try to release the answers soon 😁

Without further ado, here are some fun facts about Skylar!

Loves arts and paintings, uses their social media mostly to post art stuff or some paintings that they’ve made instead of selfies.

Their favorite hobby is painting. They’re not the best artist, but they’re good in painting landscape and are still working on their skill in painting people.

Their landscape painting usually involve unusually high perspective, perhaps because they’re used to seeing things from above with their flight ability.

Loves nature and taking a relaxing walk in the park, or hiking (walking without cheating and using their flight ability 😂).

Usually carry a small sketch book around just in case they are hit with inspiration for their next painting, or just to doodle and sketch in general when they’re bored.

Can’t cook to save their lives. They used to have a personal chef when growing up in their family’s home. Now, they just go out to eat.

Would really love to have a dog someday, but with their busy schedule as a rising superhero, they fear that they won’t have enough time to properly take care of a pet right now.

Enjoy reading poetries and love them, but suck at making them. Will securely hide the journal that they use to practice writing them.

Soundtracked 13: Spring In The Air

In the spring of 2011 L-Atunes were invited to play the opening of a new yoga studio and vegan juice bar in north Oshawa. It was at the grand opening that we befriended the studio's owner, Candace, and began talking about the possibility of using her space for other purposes. We long knew that all we needed to put on a show was an empty room and The Garden Grove had that.

With L-Atunes having played the yoga studio's opening and Lori-Anne yet to play a solo Soundtracked show it made sense to start the lineup with Darling Meadow. Jesse Maranger was a singer-songwriter from Waterloo that Harley had met a zine fair in Waterloo the previous October. Rebekah Higgs was a Halifax pop musician whose new single "Little Voice" was getting a lot of play on CBC Radio. With everyone needing to remove their shoes before entering the yoga studio the event felt like a '50s style sock hop.

We ended the night excited about our new venue. As much as we loved Isabella's one of the mantras of Broken Arts has always been variety. Having options was just all-around beneficial. With two all-ages music venues and a surplus of great talent we felt like we were finally at a point where we could handle anything. Then we got a letter from the City of Oshawa confirming our rental of Memorial Park for the first Broken Arts Fest and suddenly we were overwhelmed again. An all-day music festival was so much bigger than any three-hour show. If we were going to pull this off we'd need all the help we could get.
