Kimiko Tohomiko Headcanons

Out of all the Xiaolin Monks Kimiko is my favorite! She is just so awesome! Next to Omi. So, anyway...

She paints her nails every week to match most of her outfits.

She and Raimundo will sometimes watch horror movies together. Raimundo screams like a girl at the scary parts. Kimiko peeks through her fingers.

She will sometimes paint Omi’s nails. He finds it relaxing.

She taught Omi how to video chat, so he can talk to Jermaine about each other’s day.

She and Jack play video games. She usually wins. He thinks she cheats, but he’s just really bad at the game.

She knows how to make friendship bracelets.

She reads A LOT of Yaoi.

She will write fanfiction in her free time.

She is a big fan of K-Pop. Especially BTS.

She is a terrible cook. She tried to cook breakfast for her friends and almost burnt the temple to the ground.

She does a lot of online shopping.

She does yoga to help control her anger.

Her hair smells like cherries.

She uses Omi as a mannequin head to help style her wigs. He loves it.

She and the Monks have a game night every Friday.

She gives Omi advice for when he is trying to plan dates with Jermaine.

She talks to her dad every night to talk about how her day went.

She knows how to code.

What do you think of jermomi ?

A solid ship, there's definitely some basis for it.

(I have another ask in by inbox requesting my in-depth thoughts on Jermaine, so I'm going to truncate some points of analysis here.)

I definitely think they have crushes on each other.

They occasionally blush at fidget at each other, and you can really how much they want to impress each other. They care a lot what the other thinks of them.

They hit it off really well, and both represent something new and unknown for the other. Jermaine's the first friend Omi's made with no connection to any of the Xiaolin-Heylin stuff, and vice versa, and they're both amazed by the peek into the other's world that the other offers.

And Omi's also probably the first kid who actually came back and helped Jermaine after Jermaine stuck his neck out to save him from getting jumped. Jermaine's fully prepared to just accept a beating in the place of this kid, but he lights up with surprised joy when Omi saves him right back.

Their first to each other was literally rescuing each other, with both being absolutely floored with awe at the other's skill and heroism. That's a meet cute you'd find in lots of action romances.

Omi getting all three of the bullies to run away with their tails between their legs is probably the first time Jermaine ever seen anyone take down all three of them. And it's the first time anyone's ever stood up and fought them to protect Jermaine.

Omi was the first person to inspire and save Jermaine like he did, even before Omi went on to introduce Jermaine to all this magical stuff. Jermaine so readily came to join Omi's side when Jack challenged him, because Omi and Jermaine have already fallen into this fun, easy chemistry and being there for each other.

It's no wonder they mean to much to each other after their first meeting.

And they keep in contact after that, probably through letters and packages and basketball trickshots.

They're a fun team, they play off each other well and pull each other out of their comfort zones, they're very cute. They also push each other to grow, even with the rocky bumps that come at first. Through all the highs and lows, I could see it.

And speaking of lows, even when they had their fight, where Omi was absolutely in the wrong, Omi was surprisingly quick to drop it when he became concern about whatever Chase's intention with Jermaine were.

Omi's jealousy was fueled by his deep fears about losing the only place in the world he's ever been condition to think he'll have, his role as a Xiaolin dragon, and that's so deep-seeded that Omi holds onto it. Until he learns that Chase is involved.

Omi apologizes and threw the match completely when he has to measure that fear against letting Jermaine fall victim to whatever Chase was scheming. Omi's willing to lose and let Jermaine decide how things end.

Omi knows Chase very well and navigates their relationship warily. It's apparent that Chase is keeping far more from Jermaine if Jermaine hasn't even been made aware that Chase is evil in the first place.

Even at their lowest, Jermaine says that the thing Jermaine wanted most from all his training was for Omi to be happy for him. The thing that hurt Jermaine the most was that, through all the grueling training he was going through, he was looking forward to seeing Omi be happy at Jermaine finally taking up that offer he was too anxious to take before, when Omi offered to bring Jermaine back to the temple.

Jermaine loves Omi's confidence and finds his signature boasting pretty cute. He really enjoys Omi's base personality and finds his quirks endearing. It's only a problem when Omi specifically butts heads with him out of envy, and Jermaine makes it very clear in moments like that.

But outside of that, he wants Omi to be himself. Jermaine even lightly teases Omi when Omi invites Jermaine to return to the temple, and he grins when that teasing eggs Omi into adding a bit of the playful self-aggrandizement that Jermaine loves about him.

tldr; Jermaine and Omi know each other pretty well like each other for the personalities, not "despite them," we've gotten to see how they are both when they're fighting side-by-side or when they're fighting each other and there's solid chemistry either way, they both have to get better with communication but are very willing to grow there together, they inspire each other to look past what holds them back (Jermaine's hesitance about the big world, Omi's pathological fear of losing the only place he thinks he can have in the world as a tool for good), and the crushes are definitely there.

That growth spurt. Omi has to reach so much higher now to point at Jermaine's heart.

This is why Omi should just join Chase already, those results speak for themselves.

Omi and co. + Onion Headlines

While I’m giving my thoughts on Wudai Weapons, I should mention the weapon I’d imagine for the other Wudai Warrior.

The first Wudai Warrior we see in the show, in fact. 

There’s a great common headcanon that he eventually unlocks powers as the Dragon of Wood, since the Chinese elements are Water-Wood-Fire-Earth-Metal. So I’d want to choose a weapon that would work fine in the hands of a regular martial artist, and would also work if he was a wood elemental.

And we know he’s a close-quarters-combat fighter. Spry and flexible but very solid and powerful with his hits. He’s practical and tries to close in on his opponents and corner them, and he’s got relatively good defensive techniques. He’d need a good melee weapon.

We’ve seen him fight with a staff and with a sword, but Omi already has a very fitting magical ice staff, and Raimundo already has a sword. Redundancies would be boring.

Which is why I’d makes Jermaine’s Wudai Weapon dual tonfas. 

They’d come as one conveniently portable block of wood and can break into two tonfas when it’s time to use it in a fight, and they can shift shorter or longer or spikier as needed.

Tonfas are very good at blocking and attacking and even at restraining, but they’re a little bulky and obtrusive, so they require a lot of skill, training, and good reflexes to actually be effective. All requirements that Jermaine easily meets and exceeds.

Imagine the adorable journey Omi could take Jermaine on while they try to find his Wudai weapon out there in the world and have some friendly rival banter. It’d work well in combination with Omi’s Shimo Staff too, they’d be a force to be reckoned with!

That previous post has nothing to do with xs but I’ve just decided it’s Omi’s theme song now.

Underwater monk at an underwater temple playing basketball doing underwater dunks, how could anything fit him better than that?

If Jack had gotten to write that evil theme song for Omi like he offered, surely it would have gone something like that.

Omi Headcanons

The little round one is so cute and adorable!! Also I’m a big fan of Jermaine and Omi together! They would make a great couple. That’s why I added some headcanons of them as a couple in this. Anyways...

Omi’s ego became smaller the more he hung out with Jermaine. He would still brag a lot, though.

He kept having night terrors from the TAT incident. He usually checks on his friends to make sure their still alive.

Raimundo got him addicted to Disney movies. Which he would sometimes use for dates with Jermaine. (Don’t Ask me why, just know he once “accidentally” lost one of his shoes for Jermaine)

When Jermaine and Omi first started dating he went to Kimiko for everything. (Omi: What do I do, Kimiko? Do I buy him flowers? Get him chocolate? Buy a magic carpet and have him fly on it with me?? Kimiko: I’m seriously going to kill Rai for showing you those movies.)

Omi would talk to Jermaine for HOURS on Kimiko’s laptop she lets him borrow. They basically talk until it’s morning, or until Dojo comes and tells Omi to go to sleep.

Kimiko, Clay, and Dojo knew about his relationship with Jermaine. Except for Raimundo who was completely oblivious. (Raimundo: Huh, Jermaine and Omi seem to be getting closer lately. They must have a great friendship! *Kimiko gives him a deadpan look* What?)

Jack found out after he found them holding hands, and being all smiley. (Jack: The cheeseball likes dude?? I am totally fine with that! Go get your man!!)

Raimundo FINALLY found out after seeing them kissing on the temple grounds while Jermaine was visiting. (Raimundo: They were dating this whole time?? Why didn’t anyone tell me?? *Kimiko pushes him, while Clay shakes his head*

Raimundo chased Jermaine for a complete hour while shouting threats every boyfriend hates to hear. Along with Omi chasing him with the Orb Of Tornami to get him to stop. (Big Brother Raimundo!!)
