------------------------------------------------
Percy was lit up inside. He couldn’t stop staring at Jason, with his neat hair and faded jeans. He wondered briefly if catching lightning in a bottle would give him the same blue as those eyes. His subject of observation looked over at him and he knew nothing could ever be so intense. And then Jason Grace smiled, and Percy forgot how to breathe.
“I honestly didn’t expect your room to be so neat,”
Jason was looking around his bedroom, while he leaned against the bed post, watching the blonde move through the space.
He blushed slightly, “You would be correct…usually.” The blonde raised an eyebrow. “We have someone come in once a week to do a thorough clean. They came yesterday and I haven’t had the chance to rough it up too much yet.”
“Ah.” He nodded, knowingly, “So you’ve managed to hide all your dirty secrets in the nick of time.”
Percy smirked, “Wouldn’t you like to know?”
Jason moved toward him until they were barely a foot apart. “I would very much like to know pretty boi.”
He dared a step closer, “Maybe I don’t have anything to hide, jock.”
A golden hand reached for his own, “Mind if I find out?”
That voice ran down Percy’s spine and settled deep in his core. “Be my guest.”
With a final tug on his hand, Jason pulled them flush together. “I’ve been wanting to do this since I saw that ball flying towards your face.”
“Then what are you waiting for?”
And with a twitch of a smile, Jason kissed him. It was soft, and delicate and so fleeting Percy was sure he had imagined it.
“Again.” He breathed.
And this time there was no holding back. Their lips crashed together, hot and demanding. They were a storm. A hurricane. Hands grabbed shirts, twisting as they tried to bring each other closer. Fingers grasped soft hair, shuddering at the gentle tugs.
Jason grabbed Percy’s hips, lifting him. With a cracking gasp Percy’s back hit the wall, and their lips seared together once more. The kiss slowed down. Where the storm had ended, a lazy breeze had taken its place. They explored each other. Whimpering at the sting of teeth. Whispering unintelligently at the graze of collar bones. Groaning at the tug of hair.
Slowly Percy lowered to the ground, still pressed between the wall and a gloriously flustered Jason.
“I think I know your secret.” The blonde said, touching their foreheads together.
“And what is that?” He said thickly.
“I think you’re–“
“PERCY! Are you home honey?”
The boys groaned.
“Yea mom, I’m in my room. We’ll be down now.”
He adjusted his jeans and attempted to straighten out the crumpled Green Day t-shirt. They gave each other a once over, nodding in approval at their more innocent states.
“Ready to meet my mom?”
“Well guess we had to do it before the wedding huh?”
“When’s that again?” He grinned.
“Tomorrow I believe.”
“Oh damn I can’t tomorrow. Can we reschedule?”
Jason pretended to mull it over, “Just as well, my sister wanted to discuss colours with you. Apparently, I don’t have what it takes to choose them”
Percy burst out laughing, “I promise we can choose them together love.”
The blonde’s answering smile bloomed flames in his lungs. “Let’s go meet mom.”
“Hello honey,” Sally said, eyes twinkling as they walked into the kitchen.
“Hi mom,” Percy kissed her cheek, “This is Jason.”
“Good to meet you Miss Jackson. I love your works,”
“This one in particular I presume?” She raised her eyebrows at her son.
“Mom!” He yelped. Jason turned bright red.
“Oh I’m only teasing. How are you Jason? My son tells me you saved him from a sure concussion yesterday.”
“Considering it would have been my fault if he got one, I wouldn’t say saving so much trying to not cause it in the first place.”
“Well either way, please stay and join us for dinner, in thanks. I’m sure Paul would love to meet you. Besides I’ve just put cookies in the oven for dessert and I haven’t met a person who says no to ice-cream sandwiches.”
“Mom,” Percy interrupted, ‘Do not try and hijack my guest please. This is literally the first time we’re hanging out and we do not need to scare him away.’
“Darling if I’m scaring the poor boy now he’s never going to last in this family. Anyway, he doesn’t look the least bit scared.” She waved her hand in Jason’s direction, looking him up and down.
“I’ll stay for dinner Miss Jackson. Thank you.”
With a wide grin Sally, clapped her hands and stepped out of the kitchen, “I’ll see you in a little while boys.”
Percy sighed but smiled at his mom’s retreating figure. He couldn’t be even remotely mad at her. She was just trying to be a part of his life, and she was right– nobody could resist a Sally Jackson ice-cream sandwich,
“You sure you’re cool with staying for dinner?” He turned to his friend? Guy he had just been making out with? Date?
“I really am happy to stay Percy. I wasn’t lying when I told your mom I loved her books, and besides now I’m extremely curious about this dessert.”
He chuckled at the glee in those blue eyes, “Okay, as long as you’re fine.”
“Mind if I just step out quickly to call my sister and let her know I won’t be home till later?”
“Go ahead love, I’ll be here when you get back.”
Jason Grace smiled at him and Percy knew, in his very core, he’d follow this boy to the end of the world.

Jercy Week Day 5: Soulmate AU
Percy Jackson did not believe in soulmates.
Sure, everyone was born with a mark on their body, a very individual sign that only soulmates shared. That was real. Percy had one too – a horse made of clouds, with thunder and rain around it. But that didn't mean he believed that his soulmate would mean he'd have a happily ever after.
His mom had a sign too. A soulmate symbol. But it wasn't Percy's father. And it definitely wasn't Percy's stepfather Gabe. Sally had a soulmate, but for six years, this abusive, disgusting man had lived with them and had made their lives hell. Not once had Sally's soulmate swooped in to save them both, a knight in shining armor, bringing happiness to Sally.
No, Percy and Sally had to help themselves.
Percy learned he was a demigod, he got the head of Medusa and Percy and Sally ended their own nightmares, became their own knights in shining armors. Because soulmates wouldn't save you.
That fact got driven home hard a couple weeks after they had saved Thalia Grace's life.
"Jackson. Wait up!", called Thalia out, a confused frown on her face.
They were at the beach together, a week before Percy's fourteenth birthday. Grover and Annabeth were already standing at the sandy shore, Annabeth holding a water-ball. They wanted to play and Percy was the last to arrive (Connor and Travis had roped him into a prank so he ran late).
"What?", asked Percy confused and turned toward her. "Come on. It is on. Zeus vs Poseidon."
"The duel of the century!", announced Grover with a broad grin.
"Your soulmark", stated Thalia as she approached him.
"Urgh. It's so cheesy for the son of Poseidon to have a storm-spirit as a mark", snorted Annabeth. "Not that Percy really cares about that. You know, he doesn't believe in soulmates. Even though they are scientifically proven. We've had a lot of discussions about this."
Annabeth's soulmark was a military helmet with two torches crossed behind it and a small owl sitting on it, staring right at whoever looked at the soulmark. She wore it with pride and especially after learning she was a daughter of Athena, she grew eager that her soulmate would be war-related too. Perhaps a child of Ares, or sorts? She absolutely believed that soulmates meant happily ever after. Most of Percy and Annabeth's arguments were about that.
"No. That's not...", started Thalia and grabbed Percy by the arm.
Annabeth and Grover exchanged a confused look and walked up to them. Percy started getting a little uncomfortable by the intensity of Thalia's stare as she looked at Percy's biceps.
"I know that symbol", stated Thalia, eyebrows knitted.
"Wait. Hold on. You know Percy's soulmate?!", asked Grover excitedly.
He was convinced that Percy would change his mind once he'd actually meet his soulmate. Percy just rolled his eyes at that every time. Though he had to admit, the prospect of meeting his supposed soulmate was a little... unsettling. Made him nervous.
"It was the mark of my brother", whispered Thalia softly.
"Wait. Brother?", asked Annabeth slowly, staring at Thalia in surprise.
There was pain written all over Thalia's face. "I... had a brother. Jason. He... He died... when he was two. That was... That was why I ran away, in the end. H—He... died. I'm sorry, Percy."
Despite his claims that he didn't need a soulmate or believed a soulmate could provide him with any kind of happy ending, it... was still different to hear that he would in fact never find happiness with a soulmate because his soulmate was dead. Percy swallowed hard, unsure what to say or think.
/break\
"I still can't believe you're alive", whispered Thalia.
Jason, Piper and Leo had returned successfully from their quest yesterday and Thalia had made the huntresses stop at Camp Half-Blood so she could reconnect with her brother. She still had a hard time believing her brother was alive, had been alive all this time. The Grace-siblings were sitting together on the roof-top of Zeus Cabin, watching the stars.
"I can't believe you're alive either", muttered Jason, leaning heavily against Thalia.
They had been talking for the past three hours, updating each other on their lives. Thalia's eyes found Jason's upper arm, where right above the branding from Camp Jupiter stood the proud stallion made of clouds and storm itself. She bit her lips.
"As much as we talked about ourselves, I... there's something I have to tell you", started Thalia.
"What is it?", asked Jason concerned.
"I know your soulmate", replied Thalia, brushing her thumb over his mark.
"W—What? I've been searching for them for forever!", exclaimed Jason, getting excited.
"Ye—eah. You should curb that enthusiasm", sighed Thalia. "He... doesn't believe in soulmates. And he's been thinking you're dead."
"Well... I... I can convince him that soulmates are a good thing", muttered Jason with a puppy-pout. "Who... Who is it? Can you tell me more about him?"
"Percy Jackson. I'm pretty sure you already heard about him", chuckled Thalia.
"He's... the rock-star of this camp", grunted Jason surprised. "Everyone talks about him. All the time. It's Percy this and Percy that and everyone's desperately looking for him, because everyone loves him. And he... you're sure he's my soulmate?"
"Positive. It's the sam", hummed Thalia, flickering Jason's soulmark. "Percy, he's a sweetheart. But don't tell him I said that. We're... I mean, we're friends. He cares a lot about the people he loves and he loves fiercely. He... is a strong fighter. He loves swimming, which, obvious, I guess."
"I really wanna meet him", sighed Jason, wrapping his arms around his legs.
"Well, you got the chance to be his knight in shining armor", grinned Thalia teasingly.
/break\
"You look so nervous", snickered Leo teasingly, elbowing Jason.
"We're returning to my... home", whispered Jason. "And my... my soulmate will be there. It's a lot, okay? So back off, firebug. I'm trying not to sweat a bucket here."
"You really think you can convince him that soulmates are real?", asked Piper with a frown. "I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be a downer here, but Annabeth talked about how... he doesn't believe in soulmates due to past experience and all..."
"I know that", sighed Jason, running his fingers through his hair. "I can just... I'll be myself and if I can't make him fall for me, guess... he's right. But I'm not giving up without a fight, right?"
"Very right!", declared Grover loudly and excitedly as he came to clap him on the shoulder.
Grover had insisted that he was going to join them on the Argo II. After all, his best friend was out there and he was going to go and get him back. Definitely. Which was more than welcomed, because Chiron had been uncomfortable sending the demigods without some guardian and since Coach Hedge's wife was highly pregnant, there was just no way he'd tag along. Not to mention the part where Chiron had been very doubtful about the highly temperamental satyr.
"You do have the blessing of Percy's best friends", grinned Leo, motioning at Grover and Annabeth.
"You really do", agreed Annabeth, both eyebrows raised. "We want you to convince Percy that love is real. He's not meant to be bitter, it really doesn't fit him at all. He's cheerful. It's only soulmates he's bitter about. And he shouldn't be, because he deserves to be happy."
Jason smiled faintly and blushed as he ducked his head. He really hoped Percy would accept him.
/break\
"A—And you think my... soulmate is on that ship?", asked Reyna, looking up at the sky.
"That ship definitely came from Camp Half-Blood and that means Annabeth will be on there. She fusses about me way too much not to be on there", grinned Percy, nudging her.
Reyna blushed and brushed her hair out of her face. Percy had spotted the soulmark on Reyna pretty soon, but only after his memories returned could he place the helmet and owl. After returning from the quest, Percy got to sit with Reyna and talk to her. Tell her about Annabeth. Just because Percy didn't believe in soulmates didn't mean he couldn't respect that others did.
"Percy Jackson, why would you get yourself abducted by a goddess?!"
The next moment, Annabeth collided face-first with Percy's chest, hugging him tightly. Percy laughed as he returned the hug, burying his face in Annabeth's golden curls, just to be hugged from behind. Turning a little, he cracked a smile as he saw Grover.
"G-man. You came too", grinned Percy, wrapping his arms around them both.
"Of course! You're my best friend!", huffed Grover seriously. "I was super worried about you!"
Percy smiled, feeling tears prickling in his eyes. He turned a little toward where Reyna was hugging a blonde guy. Smile growing, Percy steered Annabeth toward the hugging duo.
"There's someone I need you to meet, Annie", grinned Percy. "You're gonna be happy about this."
"Oh, Percy, there is someone you need to meet too-", started Annabeth.
"Reyna, this is Annabeth!", announced Percy with a broad grin before Annabeth could finish.
Reyna turned around, eyes large. For a moment, Annabeth was confused, but then Reyna pulled up her shirt, revealing the sign on her hip-bone. Annabeth made a strangled sound and clasped one hand over her mouth. Percy huffed and rolled his eyes.
"I can't show you mine because it's on my shoulder-blade and I am not stripping down to my bra in front of total strangers, but... that's my sign", whispered Annabeth in disbelief.
"I know. Percy said so, when he saw it. He recognized it", replied Reyna with a shy smile. "Hello. I'm... Reyna. Praetor of New Rome. Daughter of Bellona."
"Praetor?", whispered Annabeth impressed.
"Oh, our girl got herself an important girl!", whistled Grover. "You go!"
"...Grover. Tune it down, or she might murder you", advised Percy.
"Percy, you wound me, Annabeth would never-", huffed Grover, stopping when Annabeth glared. "Okay, she might actually murder me. I'll just... steal Percy here and update him, yeah? Yeah."
Annabeth rolled her eyes and waved her hand at them, just as Reyna took her other hand. The two girls walked away, talking softly. Frank and Hazel had taken over smoothing things over on the Roman front, introducing people to each other. There were others with Annabeth, Grover and the blonde guy. Two, who were now talking to Frank and Hazel, but before Percy could go and investigate them, the blonde guy pushed between them, right in front of Percy.
"You're Percy. Percy Jackson", whispered the blonde with the broadest grin possible.
"Percy, this is... Jason. Jason Grace. Thalia's... younger brother. Who was never dead but sacrificed to Juno and all our favorite goddess brought him to the Romans, because he's a son of Jupiter", stated Grover. "A—And I'll go and join Piper and Leo. We get caught up later, yeah, Perce?"
Percy would have protested if he had any words left. Jason Grace was dead. His soulmate had died when he was two. Thalia had told him that years ago. Jason Grace was dead, or... not.
"Hi. Uhm. Hey. I... urgh, I have no idea what to say", sighed Jason and rubbed his face. "I've been dreaming about this moment for so long. But I never really thought about... what actually to say. And now that I see you, here... you... you're so gorgeous."
"Right", sighed Percy, slowly running his eyes up and down Jason. "Look. I don't... believe in this stuff. We're gonna work together to win this war and we can... be friends. But I am not expecting to ride into the sunset with you or whatever, so... don't expect that either."
"Okay", nodded Jason with a small smile.
"...Okay?", echoed Percy a little confused.
"I've lived with your best friends for the past six months. I was prepared for you to not want this. And... And I respect that. I respect you", started Jason softly. "I'm not... I'm not going to push and make you uncomfortable by asking for more than you're willing to give. Friends is... good."
Percy was genuinely surprised, but in a very positive way.
/break\
Percy was laying on his back on the deck of the ship, staring into the night sky and thinking about Tartarus, Damansen and Bob. Shuddering, he wrapped his arms around himself. He startled when someone threw a very soft jacket over him. Tilting his head, he saw Jason standing next to him.
"Can't sleep again?", whispered Jason gently as he sat down next to Percy.
Slowly, he laid down next to Percy and even slower, Percy started cuddling up to Jason. Jason was warm and comfortable and very soothing. Brewing the storm together with Jason had been the best feeling ever. Jason had not been pushy at all, he was actually a pretty good friend. A great sparring partner, good for comfort and gossip and companionship. Percy... really liked Jason. A lot. Reaching out, Percy gently traced the storm-spirit on Jason's arm. The soulmark. Jason huffed and wrapped an arm around Percy's back, pulling him closer. Percy felt safe and warm in Jason's arms.
"I never believed in soulmates...", started Percy slowly, tilting his head up. "My mom was 'left' by my dad. My stepfather was an abusive piece of garbage. We had to... save ourselves. Neither her soulmate nor mine came to our rescue. And then Thalia told me you're dead. But... my mom... she... found her soulmate. Paul. My new stepfather. He's... great. And he makes her smile like I have never seen her smile. And you're... great. You're nice and sweet and I really like you and... I don't know if I believe in happily ever after, but... I think we might... stand a chance. Can I... kiss you?"
Jason stared at him and then he broke into the broadest smile ever as he nodded wildly. As they kissed, Percy smiled softly. Maybe not happily ever after, but perhaps happiness, right now.

The Sky & The Sea
Pairing: Jercy
Word count: 2820
Characters: Percy Jackson, Jason Grace, Nico di Angelo, Will Solace, Piper McLean, Zeus, Poseidon. Mentioned: Lou Ellen, Leo Valdez, Kayla.
Rating: G
Percy was worried sick. Jason had went on a quest along with Nico and Piper. They were supposed to get back two days ago but they hadn't. He had asked Chiron for a quest to find them but the centaur denied, saying it would be too dangerous for Jason to go by himself. Percy was furious because three of the closest people to him are missing. He knew he couldn't take Blackjack because he had no idea where they were. He had tried Iris Messages but they wouldn't work. He was so close to losing his mind.
"Percy!"
Said boy turned around and saw Jason limping towards him with a wide grin. Percy was immediately relived. He saw Nico and Piper in the back walking towards the infirmary. They worry came back when he saw Jason's swollen ankle - it was twisted weirdly - and cut in his arm.
"What happened? Did you get attacked? Why didn't go straight to Will? You need to get those treated. How the Hades are you walking? Jason!"
Jason chuckled. "I'm fine. Just twisted it."
"No, you aren't. And it's broken." He slipped Jason's arm over his shoulder and his own arm around the other waist. "I have no fucking idea how you're walking. Look at it!"
"Perce, I'm fine."
"Shut up." Percy snapped. "I've been worried sick for over two days. When you were supposed to come back. IM's weren't working. I even asked Chiron for a quest to find you and he said no. So just shut up and let me worry."
They reached the infirmary where the Apollo kids quickly took care of the three injured demigods. Percy sat in a corner, shoulders slumped. Piper smiled at him as she got her leg bandaged. Nico had a gash on his torso that looked deep.
Now Percy was worried for Nico as well. "What happened?" He asked to no one in particular.
"We got attacked." Nico winced as Will worked on his gash. He glared at his boyfriend who ignored him. "It was a Chimera. Piper charmspoke. Jason struck it with lighting and then I made a hole on the ground and it was gone."
"Then there were empousai." Piper continued. Percy shuddered. He hated those. "We were outnumbered but then Mrs. O'Leary came to help."
"How are you so badly wounded?" Percy frowned.
"We haven't finished." Jason sighed and winced as Will squeezed his ankle with a frown after finishing with Nico. Kayla was bandaging Nico up. "We came across a gorgon. I don't know which one it was but it was annoying." He screamed as Will clicked his ankle in place.
Everyone winced. Lou Ellen started to dab Jason's forehead with a cold cloth. She looked at Percy who nodded. He took the cloth as Lou scurried off to help Kayla. Jason sighed pressing the cloth against Jason's forehead. Percy grabbed Jason's hand and squeezed. Sweat rolled down Jason's forehead. He looked pale from exhaustion.
"You two," said Will pointing to Jason and Nico, "are going to stay for a few days. Doctors orders." He stated firmly when Nico looked close to protesting. "You're free, Piper. Just try not to force it much."
She grinned at him and waved as she left.
Percy raised an eyebrow. "I thought you said you were going to work things out," he said to Jason.
"We did. Decided to stay friends." Jason mumbled. "Months ago."
Will fed Jason some ambrosia and a little bit of nectar. The son of Jupiter fell asleep minutes later. Percy sighed and let go of Jason's hand reluctantly. He stayed by Jason's bed until Will kicked him out.
"Can I stay the night? Please, Will? I could help around." Percy pleaded, baby seal eyes strong.
Will sighed. "Fine. But you need to shower and bring Jason a bag with his things."
Percy nodded and did as told. Half an hour later, he was settling in the bed next to Jason. Will had taken residence on the one next to Nico who looked mildly annoyed at Will fussing over him because "you can't just leave with a wound like that, Nicolas." "That's not even my name!"
Percy skipped dinner and Will scolded him for it. Eventually, the son of Apollo brought him and Nico plates full of food. Jason was still passed out.
"I'm surprised you didn't shadow travel here." Percy said as he and Nico ate.
"Oh, I did." The son of Hades mumbled. "But I didn't pass out."
Percy snorted and continued eating. He set his plate aside and lied on the bed on his side. He stared at Jason's complexion without shame. He and Percy weren't exactly exclusive but they didn't mess around with other people. They were un-exclusively exclusive.
Percy reached and traced his hand over Jason's. He wished he could fit in the bed next to him but he didn't. He'd thought about squeezing in but he didn't want to make Jason uncomfortable. Jason slowly opened his eyes and Percy retreated his hand.
"Jay?" He quickly sat up with a frown.
"Hey, Perce." He smiled and passed a hand over his face. "How long was a I asleep?"
"A couple of hours." Percy said sitting on the space left on the bed. "How are you feeling? Need anything?"
"Water, please."
Percy fetched Jason a glass of water which he downed in two gulps. "Thanks." He murmured. "Are you alright? Your eyebrows are doing the thing when you think too hard."
Percy frowned. "I was just worried. I'm just glad you're okay."
Jason smiled weakly and reached for Percy's hand. He stroked his thumb over it and kissed it softly. Jason was such a complete contrast to Percy it hurt him. Percy was reckless and barely obeyed the rules. He was sarcastic and acted completely on impulse. He would tear down whatever was in his way to keep his loved ones safe. He spoke his mind freely not caring about the consequences. Jason on the other hand thought things through and followed the rules. Being a Roman did that to you. He was a little soft and was sometimes hurt by Percy's lack of filter. He thought things through before saying them, not wanting to hurt the other person or say the wrong thing.
"Relax, Jackson. I'll be fine."
"Shut up, Grace." Percy said with no bite. "I still don't know how the Hades you were walking with your foot like that."
"Adrenaline. I just wanted to see you first."
Percy smiled fondly. "Next time come here first, please." He kissed Jason's forehead.
"I will." Jason grinned and Percy rolled his eyes.
"Liar."
The blue eyed demigod snickered. "Why don't you join me?" He scooted over and made space for Percy who looked unsure. "It'll be fine." He patted the spot and Percy lied down, arm around Jason's waist hugging him close.
"Don't scare me like that again." He whispered against Jason's neck. "You've done that enough for a lifetime."
"I won't." Jason cushioned Percy's head with his arm and wrapped the other around his waist. "I can feel Nico and Will staring holes into my back." He mumbled half asleep.
"Let them. I don't care." Percy murmured and leaned up to peck Jason's chin and then his lips. He lingered there and rubbed his thumb over Jason's bottom lip. "I missed you. You were gone for a month with no communication and I-" he swallowed the lump in his throat. "I was so worried. For all of you." He was slowly opening up with Jason. The first thing they established was communication so Percy was letting his feelings out. Especially if it had to do with nightmares.
"Percy."
"I know you can take care of yourselves but I still worry. I hate it. I hate it. I hate it." He whimpered.
"We're fine." Jason kissed the pad of Percy's thumb affectionately. "I'm here. I'm okay."
"You better be or I would've gone down to the Underworld to kick your dead ass."
Jason snorted. "You're an idiot."
"Thanks, Blondie. I try." Percy said dryly. "Just cuddle me."
Jason wasn't one to object.
***
When Jason was healed, everything went back to normal. He was still pontifix maximus, so he went from camp to camp building the shrines. He trained and taught the new campers how to fight and defend themselves. He often did demonstrations with Percy who played dirty. The son of Poseidon would grin triumphantly whenever he had Jason at his mercy.
He spent his afternoons with Percy watching the sun set as they sat on the beach. They would sit around the campfire and sing along with the other campers. They'd roast marshmallows and 'feed' each other. (They ended making a mess on each other's faces.) They'd kiss each other goodnight and good morning. Many campers were shocked - no pun intended - when they started doing this constantly and showed affection openly. Mostly the Athena cabin because they thought Percy wasn't over Annabeth yet.
Everything was going fine until Jason suddenly disappeared.
Percy was desperately looking for him. He hadn't slept in days searching for his lover to no avail.
"Have you checked on Camp Jupiter?" Annabeth asked. "He probably went there."
"He wouldn't leave like that. Without telling anyone." Percy protested. "He never does that. Chiron! Do you know anything?" Percy was desperate for any information on Jason.
"I'm afraid not." Chiron said.
Percy hung his head, shoulders shaking with silent sobs. Annabeth hugged her best friend tightly. "Come on, Seaweed Brain. You need some rest." She guided Percy to the Poseidon cabin where he lied down in the bed with Jason's shirt close to him. "We'll find him." Annabeth ran her hands through his thick, dark hair until he was asleep, drooling away. She sighed and left the cabin to keep looking for clues and answers.
Meanwhile in Olympus, Jason and Zeus were having a heated argument. Jason doesn't know how long he's been arguing with his father, all he knows is that he's exhausted of arguing with deaf ears.
"Not Poseidon's brat!" Zeus argued. "He's no good! You are not loyal to your father. You weren't supposed to befriend him! You were supposed to fight him!"
"Don't lecture me about loyalty!" Jason argued back. "He's my best friend and lover and he's the greatest person I've met and he's saved Olympus twice and I don't care what you say it won't change my mind! I will not fight him."
Thunder rumbled as Zeus stood but Jason didn't flinch. His eyes were as hard as steel, hands clenched by his side. He was breathing heavily and was slightly pale.
"He's a hero and he will go down in history just like the first Perseus."
The door to the throne room burst open and Jason couldn't be more shocked to see Percy and Poseidon.
"Jason." Percy exhaled, shoulders slumped in relief. He hugged the blond tightly. "Oh, my gods. I'm so relieved you're okay."
"Uh, Perce." Jason said letting go of Percy. "How long was I gone?"
"A week, you sack of-"
Someone cleared their throat and they turned their heads to their fathers who were looking serious. Poseidon was more passive than Zeus whom had a murderous look on his face. Poseidon turned to his brother.
"Tell me, brother." He said the word venomously. "Why are you making such a big deal out of nothing."
"Nothing?" Zeus grit out. "You call this nothing?!"
"Well, all I see are our sons in a relationship. Nothing wrong with that." He turned to look at the half-bloods. "Go back to camp. I'll deal with him."
"Thank you, Lord Poseidon." Jason said with a nod of his head. "Father." He spat out and dragged Percy out who waved at his father, a smile on his face.
"Slow down, Jase." Percy huffed and made him stop. "You've been gone for a week. Just-"
Percy didn't finish his sentence as Jason pressed their lips together. Percy felt like goo as Jason cupped his cheek softly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't know I was gone for so long. It only felt like hours." Jason apologised, rubbing his thumbs over Percy's sharp cheekbones.
"I was so worried something happened to you." Percy said softly but then his look turned steely. "Why the Hades didn't you tell me anything?!" He pushed Jason away. "No one knew where you were and we had been searching for you day and night! Nico was shadow travelling to the point of exhaustion looking for you!"
"I'm sorry! I didn't come here because I wanted to! I went to the cabin and the next thing I know, I'm here! I swear, Percy. I wouldn't want to scare you just because." The blond took Percy's hands and kissed his knuckles. "Let's get to camp."
Nico and Will were the ones to receive them. It surprised Jason when the son of Hades hugged him. It didn't surprise him when Nico punched his solar plexus, leaving him gasping for air.
"You imbecile!" He exclaimed angrily. "You worried everyone! Do you know how many sleepless nights we've had! I want to kill you!"
Will smiled sheepishly as he tugged Nico away. "Glad to know you're okay!" Will smiled. "Need a checkup or something?"
"No, I'm good." Jason said and tugged Percy along as Will pulled Nico away who was cursing in Italian.
Percy chuckled and tugged in Jason's hand to get his attention. "You should go see the others. They were worried about you."
"Aren't you coming with?" Jason frowned.
Percy shook his head. "I have a couple of things to sort out. I'll see you at dinner." He kissed Jason and disappeared into armoury.
Jason did as told and searched for Piper and Leo first. They were in Bunker 9 looking gloomy.
"Miss me?"
"Jason!" They exclaimed and tackled their friend.
Jason hugged them closely, a wide grin on his face. He was glad to be back.
***
Just as Percy said, Jason saw him at dinner. They weren't supposed to sit together but sitting alone during a meal wasn't fun. And since Nico had a "doctors note" Chiron didn't say anything.
"What were you doing?" Jason asked after they scraped off a portion of their meal into the hearth.
"Running a few errands for Chiron." Percy said. "I was training a few new campers and then did a demonstration with Clarisse."
Jason hummed. "Do you think we could… skip the campfire tonight? I just want a bit of peace and quiet."
Percy smiled at him. "Of course."
After finishing dinner, they walked towards the beach hand in hand. They didn't need to say anything as they spread out a blanket on the sand and lied down. After a while, they started to point out constellations. Jason grimaced as Percy pointed out Hercules. The son of Poseidon laughed as Jason said his half brother was a "dickhead, who needs to get his head out of his ass."
"Easy. Don't want him cursing you or anything." Percy laughed.
Jason scoffed. "He's stuck on that island. Not much he can do." He lied on his side, getting comfortable without making his glasses go askew. It was a real struggle at times. He openly stared at Percy who was staring at the sky. Jason raised an arm and caressed Percy's cheek with the tip of his pointer finger.
"Stop. It tickles." Percy murmured squirming a little. He grasped Jason's hand and playfully bit his finger.
Jason yelped and glared at him. He decided to take his glasses off and lie his head on Percy's chest. He curled around the son of Poseidon like an overgrown puppy.
"Gods. You're worse than Mrs. O'Leary." Percy grunted.
"I take offence to that." Jason grumbled.
Percy chuckled and winced as he heard the screeching of the harpies. They looked at each other with wide eyes.
"Shit."
They scrambled to their feet and narrowly avoided being spotted as they hurried to the cabins. They hastily made it to the Poseidon cabin and slipped inside. Percy shut the door, chest heaving in laughter.
"That was fucking close." He laughed and went to the bathroom. When he walked out, Jason was lying comfortably on his bed. "Are those mine?"
Jason looked down at the pajama pants he was wearing. "Obviously. It's your cabin."
Percy rolled his sea-green eyes and changed into pajama pants as well before slipping in beside Jason. The latter curled around Percy once again, pressing his front against Percy's back.
"Good night, Perce." He murmured, lips pressed against Percy's neck.
"Night, Jay." Percy took Jason's hand and squeezed it before falling asleep with Jason's warm breath against his neck.
They got a scolding from Chiron the next morning but neither regretted it. Percy had never slept more peacefully since before Tartarus and Jason didn't feel like he was being watched in the Zeus cabin.
It was the best nights sleep after all.

----------------------------------
Percy Jackson knew he was in trouble when he woke up this morning.
His alarm was blaring Led Zeppelin, his bed sheets were wrapped around his legs and his arm felt like dead weight after sleeping on it all night.
But none of these were actual problems. No, the problem was that Percy woke up with an ache in his chest. That ache that told you something was going to go very very wrong today.
He squeezed his eyes shut and splayed a hand over his chest; his heart was beating normally, ribs expanding and contracting with each breath.
He could never really explain this feeling but he had a routine whenever it came about.
Step 1: breathe. Long, deep, unhurried breathing
Step 2: call everyone you love. Just a hi, and an I'm thinking about you, and a soft I love you.
Step 3: face the day with as big a smile as you can muster. No point in walking on egg shells.
Twenty minutes, and a dozen phone calls later Percy stepped out into a bright blue morning. His mom had managed to whip up Blueberry pancakes before rushing off to work and Paul, as always, had left a delicious cup of coffee on the breakfast bar.
Estelle had already been dropped off at day care but she had left souvenirs around the house as she did each morning. Her blanket over the chair, her toy wind-up car in the passage and her rattle on the couch. Percy smiled at the evidence of his little sister, and the ache in his chest loosened ever so slightly.
He left the house with his headphones in, a spare pack of ambrosia, and his mom's note in his pocket— see you later, have a good time at the movies. I love you.
He went to the beach, and walked up and down the streets of Brooklyn, and avoided Times Square at all costs, and stepped into Grand Central Station because the busyness calmed him in some odd way.
Finally it was time to meet the gang at the movies. Percy was excited to see them; they hadn't hung out in weeks and he missed having them close. It was a heady feeling to know they were still together, still alive, even after so many near-death and literal-death experiences.
The movie, as expected when they were all together, was chaotic and loud and full of laughter. The only person missing was Jason, who had some project to finish before class started on Monday. Percy walked home feeling infinitely lighter.
He should have known better than to fall into a false sense of security. He also shouldn't have been surprised at how well the monsters could still hide in New York.
The thing came upon him so suddenly he didn't have time to react before he was being hurled into a brick wall.
Groaning he pulled himself up and unleashed Riptide.
"Percy Jackson," A voice hissed in the dark
"Oh so you've heard of me. Can't say I've had the same pleasure in regards to you," His voice dripped with sarcasm.
"You don't need to know who I am, just that I'm very happy to be the one to take the great Percy Jackson down," The hissing was closer now.
"Wait hold up, they think I'm great? Wow you think you've heard everything and something always comes along and surprises you huh?"
His teeth flashed in the gloom and he swung Riptide straight into the source of that hiss.
A screech that could shatter glass echoed through Percy's head and before he could blink, a hot searing pain slashed across his abdomen.
"Not so great now Percy Jackson,"
Percy didn't bother to reply and instead swung Riptide again. He missed. Again. Hit. Again. Slash. Again. Miss. Again. The creature turned to dust.
"Feeling pretty great now," He smirked, breathing hard.
And now that the fight had ended he was painfully aware of the stab wound in his side.
Before he had time to think any further he was stumbling towards the street, trying to make it to a familiar building of apartments.
He was in too much pain to get to the ambrosia in his bag, too much pain to even think about it.
Sweat covered his neck, all his concentration narrowing down to putting one shaky foot in front of another, a single thought racking around in his brain.
Just get there, everything will be fine if I can just get there.
And finally the familiar block came into sight and Percy nearly cried in relief. He tried to move faster, tilting and swaying as he rushed towards the building and then up the stairs. Even now, in his dire state he wouldn't risk the elevator. Small spaces were never an option, small spaces that played bad music were worse, and small spaces that represented the in and out of literal hell was an absolute hard no. So up the stairs he crashed, breathing hard, hand holding his side, eyes blurry from pain.
He reached the sixth floor and knocked on apartment eighteen. He gripped the doorway to hold himself steady, the adrenaline rushing out of him all at one go.
Soon enough he heard soft footsteps, then the lock was clicking and the door opened.
"Jase, hey bro," Percy Jackson grinned.
He didn't remember much after that. But he had seen those electric blue eyes and knew he would be safe. The last thing he felt was strong hands holding him up before he allowed himself to succumb to the darkness.
Jason Grace was here. Percy knew he would be fine.
