Faster. Just a little bit faster.
"Stop."
The leaves scrunch underneath your feet as you try to work them as fast as you possibly can.
"Stop!"
You have lost track of how long you have been running. All you know is that your knees feel weak and they are this close to giving out.
But you cannot stop.
"Y/N, stop."
No matter what you do Y/N, do not stop.
Your lungs beg you to take a break and let them have their share of oxygen. Your throat runs dry and the saliva you have been gulping a little too frequently is just not enough anymore. These things should have been enough of a sign for you to realise that even if you willfully don't give up, your body will.
And that is exactly what happens the very next moment.
You feel a sharp pain in your left leg. The muscles cramp in protest and make it impossible for you to keep your pace up. You falter and somehow limp to lean against a tree for support.
Your mind goes to lactic acid and how lack of oxygen can have your muscles doing anaerobic breakdown. Geez, you should have gone to the gym and have been a little more familiar with physical exercises. Maybe then your body wouldn't have burnt out this easily.
You try to move your legs and examine the damage. The good thing is the cramp doesn't seem severe, the discomfort should be gone soon. The bad news is, for the recovery to be fast, you need to take deep breaths and relax for the lactic acid to be washed from your system.
All these calculative thoughts are brought to a stop when you hear footsteps approaching. Shit.
You bend down and take hold of a piece of rock, the only thing available that can be used as a weapon.
"Y/N," a breathy voice reaches your ears and a figure soon comes into sight.
The figure happens to be of someone you know very well. Jungkook's. Your boyfriend.
Which is the absolute worst part.
The man comes closer to you with his eyes locked on yours and you notice the fury in them.
A shiver runs down your spine and you raise the stone in a threatening manner. "You come one step closer and I'll hit you with this."
The man doesn't react in any manner. Almost as if the words don't register, as if he's in a world of his own.
He doesn't stop walking towards you which makes you hold the piece of rock firmly, ready to aim. However, he suddenly is a little too close to you and with one flick of his hand, he manages to throw your so-called weapon to the ground, leaving you defenceless.
You don't even try to hide how terrified you feel like this, all weaponless against something you don't even properly know what it is.
You're about to plead for your life when he speaks.
"Are you okay?"
The voice. Even the voice is an exact replica of Jungkook's. Whatever this man is, he sure as hell is dangerous if he can imitate a person this flawlessly. Lord knows what other tricks he has up his sleeves.
You don't answer his question for you know he could possibly not have any interest in your well-being.
"What are you? Why are you chasing me?"
Something about your shaky voice has a visible effect on him and he puts a little distance between the two of you. It's enough for you to release the breath you were holding but you also don't miss how he keeps a close eye on your movements for any time you try to escape.
"I–I am Jungkook," the man speaks and despite the stutter in his words, he speaks with confidence.
You manage a weak scoff. "As if I'd ever believe that. Do you think I didn't see? You think you can fool me?"
"What did you see?" His senses go full-on alert.
"I know–" you look away from the man in fear when the scene replays in your mind, "–I know you are no ordinary human. You're a beast."
You don't know what happens next, for there's a pause. A pause, that is long enough for you to hope that he's gone. You would have liked to check if your assumptions were right had you not been this scared to open your eyes.
However, you do not have to keep guessing for much longer, for moments later there's a hand being placed under your chin, which slowly and gently guides you to turn your head towards the man.
"Open your eyes."
Initially, you don't oblige. You keep your eyes tightly shut. But as the silence lingers and the hand under your chin refuses to leave, you open your left eye to take a peek.
All you see is the man looking at you with the same intense gaze, something burning bright behind those orbs that intimidates you to no end. Aside from that, you also deduce that he's not in the mood of giving up. He seemingly wants to talk to you or worse, wants to do something to you and is willing to wait for it.
You think it's rather wise to cooperate with him while he's still calm and patient. Maybe that way, you'll be able to fool him and while given the chance, make an escape. That way you will also buy yourself time for your muscles to relax and recover.
You slowly open your eyes, apprehensive of what he might do next.
He only repeats his previous statement. "I need you to believe me when I say, I'm Jungkook. The same Jungkook you have known for so long."
You know you shouldn't argue with him. You're in no position to take the risk of igniting a fire you know you'll not be able to put off. But despite your logical reasoning, you feel deeply irked with this man's audacity to claim he's Jungkook. Just how dare he?
Against, your better judgement, all thoughts of cooperating with the man are forgotten.
"I do not believe you for a second."
"I don't blame you for it. But I need you to give me the time to explain myself," he speaks in the same calm, confident tone. "Stop panicking, I won't cause you any harm–"
"What are you?" You interrupt him, mid-sentence, knowing you need to have some idea of what he is for you to consider his words of not harming you, seriously.
For the first time, he looks away, "I'm a werewolf."
Werewolf. So now you know, what this man is.
You search your brain for all the information that you have ever come across about werewolves. How dangerous are they? Do they eat human flesh? Do they murder people?
The more you come up with questions and their respective answers, you realise that none of these answers are reliable for all you know about werewolves are solely based on fictional books or movies. There's no guarantee that anything these movies and books portray is anything barely similar to the way a real werewolf is.
How can it be anything close to the real thing, when werewolves were supposed to be completely fictional? Heck, you wouldn't have believed it had you not seen it yourself.
You sigh when you realise despite now having the crucial information about him, you literally know nothing. You are still as vulnerable as you were before.
"Can I speak now?"
You look at him and reply with a nod. You may not know how reliable his promise of safety is but as long he's talking, you're safe.
"I don't mean to cause you any harm, I'd never. I understand why you're so scared but let me...let me just explain."
You nod again, urging him to speak.
"Some werewolves, like me, live among humans considering that there isn't much forest left in these areas and if we were to move to rural places, it would cause a problem for the werewolves living there. It also increases the chances of gaining unnecessary attention.
I have always lived quietly and never interacted with humans unless necessary. But I had to join the company because apparently there was a documentary on werewolves being made which had footage of real werewolves. A few of us were assigned the job to stop the documentary from being made available to the public."
As a journalist, if there's one thing you have learned over the years, it's the ability to tell when a person is lying. And somehow according to your analysis, he isn't.
However, you shoot that thought down telling yourself he's not a human. He's a werewolf, lord knows what they can do. You're used to interacting with people who lie, not with supernatural beings.
"If I had to get a hold of the files and clips, I had to interact with people. I had to get friendly with them and had to get as much information as I could. Which is how I started talking to you."
The mention catches your attention.
"I was not supposed to fall for you but I did. I did not realise that at some point I had started talking to you not in order to get information out but because I genuinely wanted to. I looked forward to meeting you, talking to you and spending time with you. I fell for you when I was not supposed to.
Falling was a different thing but dating was a whole other story. I simply, simply did not know how to tell you the truth. When we started dating, I was far too deep. I wanted to call you mine and take you places but at the same time, there was this guilt gnawing at me for hiding my true nature from you.
However, when you said that you were in love with me, that was the day that I decided I would do whatever it takes to protect us. Even if it means not telling you the truth."
The man stops, probably done with what he had to say. However, you find his words extremely suspicious. How can you not? The man you have known and loved for a whole year, suddenly turns out to be a werewolf? As if you wouldn't have caught it sooner had it been the case.
You try to move your leg a little to check the condition of your cramp but you make sure that your movements are subtle so that it doesn't catch his attention. You find a bit of relief when you realise that the majority of the pain has subsided.
"Let's say what you're saying is true, how come I have never caught you before?"
"We werewolves do not shift that much. Irrespective of what TVs and films may have made you believe, we do not turn into a wolf against our wishes on a full moon night. If we do change into a wolf, it's only when we want and choose to do so."
You furrow your brows. "You mean you chose to turn into a wolf today? It wasn't an accident?"
He nods. "I booked a vacation in the middle of a forest because it is comforting for the wolf in me to be here. I wanted to just turn into a wolf and go around for a stroll. Never did I think you'd end up seeing me in the middle of a transformation."
You look away when you realise he's done answering. You need to come up with another question, something, anything to keep him occup–
"You do not believe me."
His words catch you by surprise and you gulp in fear. You cannot let him know that you're not playing whatever game he's playing, who knows it might just make him lose his cool. You can't have that. It's better to play dumb.
"That's not true, I am just trying to piece the puzzle together."
The man scoffs with a small chuckle. "You think I can't tell when you lie? I've known you for a long enough time to be able to do that."
Oh shit.
"I understand that you're in total disbelief. As if learning werewolves exist wasn't enough, you also learnt your... boyfriend is one. That can't be easy."
You still do not believe his words but nod nevertheless.
He gently puts your hands in his and his thumb fiddles with the promise ring that Jungkook had given you.
That's weird. Jungkook used to do that whenever he was nervous and needed to calm down.
No, no, no. Just because he is fiddling with your promise ring doesn't mean he's Jungkook. He can't be.
You withdraw your hand from his and look at him with a determination that you didn't have before, a little annoyed with yourself for considering the possibility that this man might just be Jungkook. "I do not know who you are and what you want from me but I know one thing and that is, you're not Jungkook."
"What can I do to make you believe me?"
You shake your head vigorously. "You cannot be Jungkook. My Jungkook is gentle, sweet, and caring. You seemed so scary, my Jungkook is not like that."
"Please look at me," after your withdrawal from him, he does not choose to make you look at him. He realises that irrespective of how gentle he might have been, you may still be uncomfortable with it. Thankfully, you do look at him even if it's after, what seemed to be a moment of contemplation. "I am so sorry that you had to find out this way. But I promise despite my appearance as a wolf, I am still the same Jungkook you know. There's nothing that you don't know about me."
Something about his eyes makes it impossible for you to look away. Maybe it's just the strong emotion that shines through his orbs but for the first time, you notice that his eyes aren't filled with fury.
Out of both curiosity and anxiety, you keep your eyes fixed on his' to understand what exactly is it he's feeling.
A few moments later, you still keep looking. Not because you can't figure out the emotion being reflected in his orbs but rather because you can and you think it simply cannot be so. You must be seeing it wrong. Because what you see is......fear. A lot of fear. He's terrified.
But that can't be it. Why would a werewolf who's been filled with fury, suddenly be so scared? Unless...unless, he wasn't furious in the first place and it was your fight or flight mode that had made it look like he was furious.
Does that mean he has been terrified from the very beginning?
"What...what do you want from me?" Your question comes from a place of confusion. So far you had been under the assumption that this man wants to harm you. But if that were the case, why is he so scared? Things aren't adding up!
"I just want you to realise that I'm Jungkook."
His words play on repeat in your mind. That's the only thing he's been claiming since the beginning, that he is Jungkook.
"Why would Jungk–No, Jungkook would have told me if he was a werewolf. He would have never kept it hidden."
"Maybe Jungkook was too scared that he'd lose you and you'd stop seeing him with love. That the love and adoration you have for him will turn into fear."
He looks like his whole world is falling apart and he's barely holding on.
Fear. This is the source of his fear. This is exactly what he's been so terrified of.
You frown in a state of confusion that turns out to be painful for you. Could this man really be Jungkook? Is Jungkook, him? Are they the same person?
"Would it be so bad if Jungkook were to be a werewolf?" The question is asked softly, a little too softly for your liking and your head spins as it only confuses you even further for you once again, entertain the possibility.
Jungkook. Your sweet, cute, bunny-eyed Jungkook whom you love so much, is a werewolf? It's absurd because you still can't make peace with the fact that werewolves are real. But if it is the Jungkook you know and have grown to love, would it matter? You don't think so. But it's not a question of whether Jungkook is a werewolf. Right now, it's a question about whether this man, who's a werewolf, is Jungkook.
You calmly go through everything he has said so far. Him, joining the company because he had to stop a documentary from being released, which could threaten the truth about werewolves being released to the common public. You recall how he was when he joined, he was distant, and his conversations looked forced as if he was doing it because he doesn't have any other choice. Or the way he was a little too curious about the itsy bitsy details, that no one else paid mind to. Even the time you had found him going through a series of tapes from the office room. Could it all be because he was trying to gather information about the documentary? Could he be saying the truth?
"What happened to the documentary then, did you get a hold of it?"
The man shakes his head. "As it turns out, no such documentary existed in the first place. It was just a rumour which had gotten out of hand."
You immediately shoot him with another question. "Why then, are you still working in our company?"
He chews on the inside of his cheeks, contemplating if you'd even believe his answer. "Because of you."
Something entirely unexpected happens. Your heart skips a beat. In the midst of all the confusion and fear, your traitor heart skips a beat!
You immediately scold yourself for it. What if he's lying to you? What if he's not actually Jungkook?
But, the way he's looking at you....it's the same way Jungkook looks at you. How can it feel like Jungkook if he's not Jungkook? This man could be lying and pulling stories out of his ass but his eyes? What do they say about eyes being the window to the soul? If so, why does it remind you of Jungkook so much?
You shut your eyes close tightly and ask him a question as your last resort. "Tell me something only Jungkook would know."
It doesn't even take him a second and words come pouring out of his mouth. "You like your noodles a little less boiled because that's the way your mom cooked them. You like it when it rains because the weather comforts you. You enjoy it when I play with your hair because you find it soothing. You haven't talked to your brother for months after that fight even though you really want to. You have a little scar on your thighs from the time–"
"You're Jungkook," you whisper to yourself, finding your walls crumbling and your guard lowering. There's no way anyone except Jungkook would know these things.
Jungkook is hit with a tremendous wave of relief which you do not miss. His body visibly reacts as if a huge bag of stone has been lifted off his shoulders.
"I am Jungkook," he whispers back, repeating your words to confirm what you have just said. As if he cannot believe that he has managed to make you trust him. "I am sorry you had to find out this way,"
"You really are a werewolf? You always have been a werewolf? Every time we have talked, you were a werewolf?"
Your set of questions causes Jungkook to get nervous again and he takes a step back. Now feeling sure that you won't try to run away from him, he only manages a weak nod as an answer to all of your questions.
"Wow," your mouth forms an 'o' as you let all of it sink in. Jungkook is a werewolf. Your Jungkook is a werewolf. "I wish you had told me sooner."
"I was so scared I'd lose you," he mutters, his voice wavering, all the confidence and firmness he was showing before, now gone. It's only now that your previous thoughts are confirmed that he's been this scared from the very beginning and you realise his confidence was merely a facade to calm you down. "You being scared of me is an absolute nightmare."
You don't speak for a moment. Now that you feel like you aren't in danger, you take a few seconds to observe him. He is nervous, that much is obvious. But it's the little details about him that call for your attention. You know how he avoids eye contact when he feels small, you know how he runs his tongue against the inside of his cheek when he feels annoyed with himself and you know how he craves to have some part of his body to be in touch with yours because it grounds him. His clenched fists are a sign enough, that he wants to hold onto you, but is resorting with every fibre of his being.
Looking at him now, you wonder how you had not noticed these things before. How you could, even for a moment, think that he was not Jungkook. It's him, everything about him is Jungkook.
He is Jungkook. Your Jungkook.
You take a step towards him, to reduce the distance he had put between the two of you.
"I think the fact that you're a werewolf hasn't quite sunk in, a part of me still is in disbelief," you place your palms against his cheeks and hold his face gently. "But something in my heart tells me you're my Jungkook and that's all that matters. Werewolf, vampire, human, I don't care."
Jungkook closes his eyes and releases a shaky exhale. "Can I hug you?"
You wrap your arms around him and let your head rest against his chest. The sound of his heartbeat washes away any remaining doubts or anxiety you might have had as you relax in his warmth that is so familiar.
Jungkook goes completely limp in your hold as he too wraps his arms around you and pulls you in tightly. He lets go of all the tension in his body and the both of you stand there in the middle of a forest embracing each other.
You would have liked to stay like that a little longer but a sniffle from Jungkook makes you break the embrace. You look at him to find his eyes misty. Jungkook saves you from asking the reason behind his watery eyes, as he himself tells you.
"I thought you wouldn't believe me and that you'd find me disgusting and unappealing," he confesses. "I didn't know what to do to make you see that I'm the same Jungkook. The way you were scared, scared me."
You run your fingers through his hair, knowing it has a soothing effect on him as well. "When I saw you transforming, I was scared but it was because I never even imagined that it was you. I thought it was some scary supernatural being that wanted to harm me."
"And you're not disgusted to know that I am, in a way, partially a wolf?"
The way his voice sounds so small and unsure pulls at your heartstrings and urges you to comfort him. Placing a soft peck of reassurance, you smile against his lips. "Nah, you're still my cute little baby."
Jungkook looks surprised as he looks at you with wide eyes, not having expected that action from you. You giggle seeing his expression. He's your cute little baby, indeed.
His expression turns into that of shyness and a blush appears on his cheeks. "Could you do that again?"
You laugh and the very next moment kiss him again. Your lips mould against his as you kiss him gently, silently apologising for scaring him like that. You kiss him with passion in hopes that it eases his anxiety and makes him feel reassured that you still love him the same.
Jungkook kisses you with a softness that is desperate and needy at the same time. He needs it to fully relax into the fact that you're here, right in front of him and that you haven't left him. He needs to let it sink that you're kissing him with the same amount of love that you always have, that him being a werewolf, doesn't come in the way of your love.
However, when he feels that reassurance hit him, he pulls you impossibly closer and his kissing starts getting harder. It holds the same amount of desperation, as before but this time Jungkook holds onto you tightly as if he's scared to ever let go of you, again. He feels like he needs to apologise to you, needs to love you better than he did before and most importantly needs to express how incredibly grateful he is for you sticking with him.
He could literally worship you right now.
A brief fleeting thought occurs in his mind as to what were to happen if he were to get down on his knees and make you scream his name in the middle of this forest?
That thought is a tell-tale sign that he should pull away, because with each passing second that your lips remain on his', the thought becomes a little less fleeting.
With a groan that has your heartbeat accelerating, Jungkook pulls away and smiles at you. "We should head back."
Your breathing had just started to get faster, your chest had just started to heave and the wave of excitement that makes goosebumps rise all over your skin, had just started to take over. The prospect of having Jungkook in a way where he doesn't have to hide himself makes you curious and crave that intimacy.
"We could head back a little later, we have time until it gets dark," you suggest lightly with a shrug.
Jungkook looks confused at your suggestion. "What do you want to do staying here?"
"I don't know, maybe we could kiss a little more," you suggest with a shy smile on your face.
"While that does sound nice, I do not think it's a good idea."
"Why not?"
"Because I might get greedy and end up wanting to do unspeakable things to you," Jungkook reasons, trying to be the voice of logic.
"Who says I do not want to do that already?"
There are a million questions in Jungkook's mind. Would you be okay with it, when you were so scared moments ago? Would you be comfortable with it? Would you regret it later?
You get on your tiptoes and press a small kiss on his cheek, having noticed the concern on his face. "I want you, trust me."
"Are you sure?"
You nod with a reassuring smile.
The glint that takes over his eyes, makes a shiver run down your spine. It's a look you have seen plenty of times, one that you're extremely familiar with.
However, you sense he's still hesitant. Taking a step closer, you make the first move and kiss him hard. Starting it slow be damned, you want him to know the desire you hold for him.
Anything that might have been holding Jungkook back, disappears. He holds you by your waist and pulls you closer. Groaning into your mouth, he bites into your lower lip before capturing it passionately between his lips to soothe any sting the action might have caused.
Your desire increases and you gently prod his lips with your tongue, eagerly waiting for him to let you in. As soon as he does, you could not be more delighted, something which is made extremely obvious by how excitedly your tongue greets Jungkook's.
There's no battle of dominance. Rather, both of your tongues entangle together as if dancing to their favourite song.
Your body starts to feel hot and you keep feeling the need to have him closer. When you part your mouth from his, it's not because you've run out of air, it's because you need to feel more of him.
An emotion which Jungkook replicates.
"You'd need support," his breathy voice reaches your ears.
"That's what the tree is for," you reply in a tone that's quite similar to that of his.
"The surface is rough, it'd scratch your back," he reminds you of the consequences of having your back against the tree trunk when you'll be naked later.
"Well you could always offer me your blazer," you counter, with a sultry smile.
Fuck.
Having been caught in the middle of turning into a wolf, he had to stop right away. Unfortunately, the fur doesn't disappear immediately. At that point in time, his main priority was not scaring you any further. Hence, Jungkook had grabbed the nearest thing he could find, to put on. Anything that could cover the fur until it disappears. Which so happened to be the black blazer he's now wearing.
The image that comes to his mind as a result of your words, is one which makes him come to the conclusion that the thoughtless choice of the blazer, is one of the best decisions he has ever made. After you, of course. But if he has to put the blazer to good use, he needs to get you naked first.
Kissing your neck with newfound vigour, he holds you firmly against himself as his hands start to wander behind your back to find the zipper that serves as the key to get you out of this dress.
Having found it, he wastes no time dragging the chain down and sliding your dress halfway down your shoulders.
You whimper when the cold air hits your skin, taking you by surprise. He kisses, nibbles and leaves his mark on the newly exposed skin and curses to himself when he realises that you're not wearing a bra. The new discovery entices him to slide the dress even lower so that he can get his mouth on your soft supple breasts.
His entire mouth dries up when your nipples are revealed and he realises how hard they have been all this while, as if just as eager to get sucked as he is to suck them. Wasting no time he puts your left breast in his mouth while playing with the right one with his other hand.
"Fuck," you throw your head back at the new sensation and grab a hold of his hair. It's when he sucks a little harshly, that you look at him with eyes filled with pleasure. You notice the deep frown on his face while he plays with your tits and it does something unspeakable to you, it makes you want to skip everything and just have him inside you.
He gives equal amounts of attention to the other breast and then when he feels satisfied with the work of art he's left, he decides it is time to wander lower.
He slides the dress off further, now exposing your stomach. His palm gently runs across the area and he leaves light kisses on his wake. The sensation makes you sigh for how in contrast they are with his previous demonstrations, which were rather rough and desperate. While these touches are soft and sensual, with a hint of teasing to them.
Finally sliding the dress all the way down, he looks at you with anticipation in his eyes, "Step out of it."
You oblige and step out of the dress that now pools around at your feet.
"The underwear too," Jungkook asks, dying to see you naked.
You smile a little at his words, understanding that he's getting impatient and you thrive in the thrill of what's to come. You hook your fingers around the band of your underwear and tug it down, getting rid of it.
Jungkook's pupils dilate seeing every inch of your skin exposed to his eyes.
He experienced the most vulnerable part of him getting exposed and it made him want to crawl inside a hole and never come out. Anything was better than you being scared of him, being disgusted with him or feeling betrayed by him. But here you are, willingly standing naked, right in the middle of a dense forest with eyes filled with want for him.
The wolf in him feels a deep fire ignite at the sight of you not shying away even though theoretically, anyone could step in at any moment and see the both of you in this compromising position. It assures him that you're not ashamed of him. It makes the beast in him feel accepted.
Although he would like to have you naked like this a little longer, he reminds himself that he needs to put the blazer on you, for you'd need support for the sinful things he wishes to do to you and truth be told, he cannot hold himself back any longer.
Removing the piece of garment, he drapes it on you. Taking a few steps back he curses when he takes in the full view of you in nothing but just a black blazer. His blazer.
You're a tad bit disappointed when Jungkook closes the distance, for you were enjoying the sight of his glistening chest but your disappointment is gone when you realise this allows you to run your hands all over his body.
You and Jungkook feel each other like you both are starved of touch and as if it's the air you need to survive. It's also while Jungkook feels every inch of your skin that he slowly and gradually, corners you against the tree, finally having you the way he wants to.
He litters kisses in a straight line from your neck to your navel and then gets down on his knees. The new position has his face right in front of your sex.
"Please do something," you plead, shivering when his exhale hits your core.
He merely hums, enjoying the sweet smell of your arousal that hits his senses. Using the tip of his thumbs, he gently parts your folds for your wetness to be revealed. "You smell so sweet, sweetheart."
"Do you want me to have a taste?" He continues, now locking eyes with you. A soft whimper from you is all he needs to put his mouth on your nether region.
He doesn't start gently, oh no, he straight away starts drinking all you have to offer as if he's been thirsty for ages. His tongue runs messily all over your insides, sometimes messaging your hole, other times stimulating the bundle of nerves that have you wildly arching your body with pleasure.
"Fuck, fuck, fuck," you chant repeatedly, the forest being the only audience of your sinful words. As much as you'd like to drag it out and take it slow, you don't think you'd be able to hold yourself from orgasming any longer. It feels like it's only been a minute since Jungkook started eating you out and you're already about to fall over the edge. But can you really be blamed when Jungkook has gone completely wild with his tongue down there? "Shit, I'm about to come."
Jungkook slows down.
His tongue all of a sudden, turns gentle, languidly cleaning up your arousal but somehow still holding the same amount of passion as before.
You're not complaining but the switch of pace has you craving more, because you oh so desperately, need to cum. "I need to cum, Jungkook."
"Not yet, sweetheart, I need your cunt on my mouth for a little longer," he whispers, his words which practically vibrate against your folds.
The words are on the tip of your tongue as to how he could have just started slow and gradually built the pace, rather than snatching away your high right when you were about to hit it. However, you keep the words to yourself when you realise just how much Jungkook is enjoying softly lapping at your essence as if it's his favourite treat. It also doesn't take your body long to forget the stolen high and to start enjoying the slow pace. This time instead of wild loud moans, soft gasps and broken whimpers leave your lips.
You know Jungkook is teasing you, he likes doing that. He likes giving you pleasure in a way, which with time gets a little too much and which has you begging for relief of any sort. It's not like you cannot cum like this, you can. After all, Jungkook is a little too good with his mouth but if you let go this way, the pleasure will be one that will hit you in the form of gentle waves. However, what you crave is a wave that hits you at once like a tsunami.
Hence, you beg. "Don't be gentle. Make me cum. Hard."
Your words are desperate, a plea to Jungkook for you will lose your mind if he doesn't let you have your relief. And that's all Jungkook wanted, for you to beg in a helpless voice. Feeling satisfied, he sucks on your clit harshly. To add to your pleasure he inserts two fingers and pumps them in and out at a slow pace until you get adjusted. Once you seem to have no difficulty with his fingers, he starts a ruthless pace, one which has you seeing stars.
While he fingers you with one hand, his other shimmies up and slides underneath the blazer to play with your tits. He squeezes your tits to his heart's content and pinches your nipples until your eyes roll back.
Your head thrashes wildly and you grab a fistful of his hair. "Fuck, you feel so good."
Jungkook has a bit of a dirty mouth. One which you clearly enjoy. And there's so much he wishes to say right now. He wants to tell you how sweet your cunt tastes, how tightly it's clamped around his fingers and what a sight you're from down here. But he cannot afford to not have his mouth on you, while you cum. That'd be such a waste. And if he were to go by the way your hole clenches around his fingers like a fucking vice, you're close. It only motivates him to increase his pace.
That paired with the stimulation he provides on your clit and your tits, has your whole body heating up and the very next moment it all explodes. You cry out loudly, and your grip on his hair tightens even more as the wave hits you like a tsunami, making you lose all control over your senses. All you feel is the overwhelming pleasure that consumes you.
Jungkook smiles against your cunt at the way you fall apart, thinking to himself, you for sure would have lost your balance had it not been for the tree you lean against.
He helps you ride your high and once you seem to have caught your breath, he places a few more kitten-like kisses before getting up on his feet.
You feel weak but you cannot not kiss him with everything that you have got in you. A hum of satisfaction escapes your lips when you're greeted with your essence and it urges you to have a taste of him.
Your hands find their way to his belt and you attempt to unbuckle it. Jungkook chuckles against your mouth, noticing how your hurried actions, instead of getting the job done quickly, lead to you messily fumbling with the belt. Taking matters into his own hands, he stops kissing you for a brief moment to get rid of the belt himself.
"Fuck, thank you," that's all you say before roughly tugging his trousers down.
Your mouth practically salivates at the sight of his hard length that begs to be free from the confinement of his boxers. The dark wet patch against the piece of clothing serves as an invitation for you.
Thankfully, you do not have to put your patience to the test to get rid of his boxers. It's done swiftly without much struggle causing his length to spring out. You immediately have your hands on him. Collecting the precum from the tip, you rub it all over his length.
Jungkook groans right next to your ears, his breathing accelerates the more you run your hands on his cock. "Yes, baby, just like that."
You feel his tip leak more beads of precum and it adds to your desire of having a taste of him. "I need to have you in my mouth."
Jungkook stops you before you can get down on your knees. His lust-filled eyes, spark with a shred of amusement. "You will hurt your knees, baby."
It's only then that you are reminded of the fact that you're in a forest and that you indeed will end up hurting your knees if you were to get down on them on the forest floor.
"Then fuck me," you say with a gruff, a tad bit annoyed that you cannot have what you want, at this very moment.
"That I will," Jungkook chuckles darkly. Saying so, he presses his length against your folds. "Do you know how wet your pussy is?"
"Why don't you do something about it?" You mewl softly, enticing him to just fuck you rough and hard.
"Oh don't worry, darling, you won't be able to walk after this," he promises.
It isn't just his words that affect you, it's also the way he's looking at you. You have noticed there's something more carnal about him today and if you're not wrong it has everything to do with him not having to hide anymore. It's him expressing his need without having to hold anything back, now that he knows he's accepted and loved wholly.
"I'd like that very much." The sultry, seductive tone is intentional for you know that Jungkook plans on teasing you. But you cannot wait any further. You need to have him inside you now and you only wish you can make him as impatient as you. However, Jungkook seems to have understood what you're trying to do. It's not to say that your tactic doesn't work, it does. He starts rubbing himself against you faster but he's not willing to give in, just yet.
You make another attempt by pinching his nipples. In the various occasions that you've been intimate with Jungkook, you've learnt that those two buds are perhaps the most sensitive spot for him.
It's once again proved right when he lets out a low growl and the next thing you know he's pushing his cock inside you. "You couldn't wait a bit longer, could you?"
"When it comes to you, I do have a habit of becoming impatient," your voice comes out hoarse, the pleasure from having his length inside you clouding your senses. You just feel so full.
Jungkook hums in approval and once you give him the green signal, he builds up a slow and steady pace.
"Fuck baby, your cunt is so tight," the words are whispered against your neck, as you feel Jungkook gradually set up a brutal speed.
You tug on his hair harshly to get a grip on reality as your vision starts to blur. You whimper, wail, scream and cry his name repeatedly, all of which fuels Jungkook to go faster and deeper.
He notices the lightheaded look in your eyes and swiftly hooks his arms around your thighs to lift you. You instinctively wrap your legs around his waist and secure your position.
The effects of your previous orgasm hasn't completely faded yet and from this angle, his dick hits the golden spot which makes your high approach faster than you had anticipated.
"Jungkook, I'm gonna cum," the words are broken and breathless.
The new information earns a few slow determined thrusts from him, before he speeds up again. His forehead touches yours and you feel the sweat that has built up on his skin. You notice the way he is so focused on your pleasure, on every moan that escapes your lips and every expression on your face.
It all gets to the point where you can't hold yourself back anymore. Throwing your head back, you reach another high and hold to any part of Jungkook that you can to hold onto your sanity.
"Baby your pussy just got so tight," he speaks in a hushed voice, the fucked out look in your eyes and the essence that he feels on his cock, as an after-effect of your orgasm, now making him chase his high.
"Cum inside me, please," you say in a weak voice, your cunt still convulsing.
"You know I'm a werewolf right?" He queries, with a dark look in his eyes. Receiving a nod from you, he speaks again, "Do you know what that makes you?"
"My mate."
That's the only warning you get before he's pounding into you like his life depends on it. The sound of skin slapping makes you dizzy and you feel so desperate to feel him spill inside you. Thankfully, it takes a few more thrusts before he paints your insides with ropes of thick cum.
You both stay in that position, foreheads resting against each other as you breathe heavily, feeling totally spent.
"That was something," you mumble when you seem to have regained enough energy to speak.
"That was intense," Jungkook agrees, removing the strands of hair that had fallen on your face.
"I enjoyed it though," you smile up at him, finding it kind of silly how you ended up getting railed against a tree from running for your life.
As he slowly feels himself coming down from his high, he feels the disbelief resurface again. Did he just fuck you after you found out he's a werewolf? And you just let him and confessed to enjoying it? And are you still here looking up at him with those bright eyes?
"You're unreal," he sighs, closing his eyes and inhaling your sweet scent.
"You're the one who's a werewolf and you are telling me, I am unreal?" Your brows quirk up as you tease him.
"I–It's just unbelievable that you're still here–"
"So a good round of fucking wasn't enough for you to believe that I'm here?" Your words earn a small chuckle from him which soon turns into a warm smile when you place a kiss on his jaw. "There's never gonna be a good enough reason for me to stop loving you, Jungkook."
"I promise I'll never hide anything from you again," his nose gently rubs against yours.
"I hope you don't ever feel the need to," you hum. "But for now, you need to do me a favour and carry me on your back."
"Told you, you won't be able to walk after," he winks, with a proud look.
"That and the fact that I got a cramp due to all that running."
His worry is immediate. "You got a cramp? Why didn't you tell me? Shit, did I hurt you while having sex?"
"Nope, it didn't cause much trouble," you shake your head to ease him. It's the truth, the cramp doesn't seem to have had much of an affect. It's only when you try to stretch you legs, that it causes the slightest of sting.
"Let's head back, I'll massage the area for you, that should help," he comments as he quickly starts collecting the clothes that you two have dropped on the ground without a care.
Once he has his trousers back in place and has collected everything that is needed, he asks you to hold the clothes. Then swiftly, in the blink of an eye, he is picking you up in bridal style. A surprised gasp escapes your lips but it soon turns into giggles when you realise that Jungkook's upper half is still unclothed and you get exclusive access to it on your way back.
"Walk slow, take as much time you need," you quip, your hands slowly and dramatically inching closer to his chest.
He rolls his eyes, pretending to be done with your silly behaviour when in reality, it's one of the things that he so dearly loves about you.
He knows you tend to get sleepy after sex and the only reason you're being this talkative and playful, when your body is probably trying to doze off, is because you want him to be at ease. You know him a little too well and know that in your silence, he will probably overthink again. Its not just your words and touchy hands but it's also this unspoken thoughtful gesture, that makes Jungkook finally relax and let go of the notion that you'll regret or change your views about him.
Oh, how dearly he loves you.
Bless whoever had started the rumour about the documentary. Had it not been for them, he would not have you in his arms right now, making him feel like the luckiest man alive.
Gosh, he cannot wait to spend the rest of his life with you.

“I’ll see you guys later,” you smile at the seven boys over your shoulder as you step out of the elevator. Along with being in a relationship with the boys, you were also a makeup artist at HYBE, and you all had just arrived at the company building from your shared apartment. Normally, you would all head up to work together, however, Bang Si-Hyuk had suddenly called the seven of them up for a meeting this morning.
They all wave and smile at you before the elevator closes and takes them up to Bang’s office. Knocking on the door, they hear a muffled, “Come in,” before they open the door. They enter the room to find Bang sitting behind his desk, a serious look on his face as he looks over the photos he has laid on his desk. “Please, take a seat,” Bang tells them.
As the boys walk closer to sit in the chairs in front of Bang’s desk, they notice that the photos on the desk are photos of them. “What is the meaning of this?” Namjoon speaks up, confused about the purpose of this meaning and the photos. “These were leaked late last night and although we were able to get them taken down quickly, I was very concerned by the fact that these photos were taken in your home,” Bang sighs as he slides them across the desk so they can get a closer look, “We have reason to believe y/n may be selling you photos.”
“What?” Hoseok looks up in shock. “Y/n would never do such a thing,” Jin immediately comes to your defence. “Yeah, it must be someone else,” Jungkook agrees with him. Bang knows how much the boys absolutely adore you and he knew it wouldn’t be easy to get through to them. But he also knows that no matter how intense their feelings for you may be, Namjoon is always able to think sensibly so Bang turns to him.
Namjoon’s eyebrows furrow as he takes a closer look at some of the photos, “I remember y/n taking these photos,” he says, his voice thick with emotion. “You can’t be serious, Hyung,” Taehyung says, angry that Namjoon would think you would do such a thing. “Wait,” Jimin says, placing a hand on Taehyung’s shoulder to stop him, “I remember her taking these too.”
The memories start to come back to them one by one and no matter how badly they want to deny it, all the evidence is pointing towards you. “Y/n is a valued employee who’s been working here for a long time. She’s proven her loyalty over and over again and although this evidence may be enough for some people to prosecute y/n, we want to get solid evidence before taking any action,” Bang explains.
They simply nod in understanding, too many thoughts running through their minds. It’s like their whole world has just been turned upside down and they don’t know what to do about it. Seeing that everyone has lost their ability to speak, Hoseok speaks up for the group. “We understand. Thank you for letting us know about the situation,” he grits out, jaw locked in place.
“I advise you to act cautiously around her, but please don’t address the situation with her until we can get evidence,” Bang says simply as he begins picking up the photos and placing them into a folder. “Can we go now?” Yoongi asks, bored. “Yes, you all are dismissed,” Bang says, giving them one last concerned glance as they walk out of his office. He can’t imagine the anger and betrayal they must be feeling right now. He didn’t want to tell them you were a suspect unless they knew for certain it was you, but they had a right to know. He can only hope they can control themselves.
Hearing the ding of the elevator signifying its arrival, you turn around in excitement to face the boys, but they all have solemn looks on their faces. Your brows furrow in confusion and concern. The meeting must not have gone well, you think. Unsure if they want to talk about it, you wait for them with a welcoming smile so they know they can come to you if they want to, but you also won’t force them to do anything they don’t want to.
Once they get dressed for the photo shoot, they come out from the changing rooms to have their makeup done. Approaching Hoseok, you raise your makeup brush, about to start applying it on his face when he turns and walks away from you. “Hobi?” you call out in confusion, but you get no response as you’re left standing alone with your hand hanging in the air, watching Hoseok’s back as he walks over to another makeup artist.
You clear your throat awkwardly as you walk over to your station. It’s clear that none of them want to be near you so you mess around with your brushes, pretending to be busy organizing your station. It’s embarrassing enough that you got rejected in front of everyone, but you feel so useless standing around while everyone else is working. After all, you’re unable to work if all seven of them refuse to let you get within five meters of them.
You understand if they don’t want to talk, but their behaviour leaves you hurt and very confused. Everyone had seen the exchange between you and Hoseok and the rest of the staff give you looks of pity. All the staff know of your relationship with the boys, so they find Hoseok’s behaviour strange but they don’t question it, knowing it’s none of their business.
After completing the first half of the shoot, you, along with the rest of the makeup artists are dismissed as the second half of the shoot is scheduled to be finished tomorrow. But as you get to go home for the day, the boys still have to complete what’s left on their schedule. Normally, you would stay at the company building with them, keeping them company and making sure they’re not overworking themselves. And when the day was finally over for them, you would all head home together. But today, you decide to go home alone.
Arriving at the apartment, it’s strange for the space meant for eight to be so empty and silent. And the silence does nothing to aid all the thoughts running through your head. It only makes them seem louder. To distract yourself, you decide to get started on dinner knowing food is always the way to the hearts of the seven boys.
Hearing the sound of the door opening and closing along with the sound of bags being dropped on the floor, you poke your head into the hallway to find the seven of them standing in the doorway. “You guys are just on time, I just cooked dinner!” you tell them excitedly, proud of the food you cooked. They always got excited over food, even if it was just instant noodles that you cooked, so you were excited to see their reactions. You had cooked all their favourites hoping it would help cheer them up.
“Guys?” You call out, the hurt evident in your small voice. But they don’t even look at you or the food you cooked, simply brushing past you and heading straight to their rooms. You deflate when even Jungkook, who has a bottomless pit as a stomach, doesn’t even bat an eye towards the food you cooked. At first, you thought that they were upset about something work-related and they were avoiding you because they just didn’t want to talk.
But their behaviour only leads you to think that they’re upset with you. You don’t know why they’re giving you the silent treatment. They were fine this morning, but something changed after the meeting. Unable to think of a reason why they would be upset with you, you retreat to the living room, hoping that maybe they’ll eat if you’re not there. Curling up on the couch and clutching a pillow tightly to your chest, you let sleep wash over hoping everything will be okay.
The next morning, you wake up to a silent apartment with the sun shining in your eyes. Padding into the kitchen, you frown when you find all the food untouched. Looking around the kitchen, the clock on the stove reads 9:00 am. Shit, you think, you were late for work. You’re hurt that they didn’t touch the food you made nor did they wake you up for work. You don’t know what’s going on and you’re just so hurt and confused.
Knowing you’re already late and you wouldn’t be able to focus anyway, you decide to just call in sick for the day. Moping around the apartment, you try to put the pieces together. Their strange behaviour started yesterday morning when they came back from the meeting. But they seemed perfectly fine before then. It couldn’t be that the meeting just didn’t go well because the only person they seemed to be mad at was you.
But the meeting couldn’t have been about you. Or could it have? You couldn’t think of anything you’ve done recently that was so terrible to deserve this treatment from them with no explanation. Was the company not happy about your relationship with the boys? But they would never make such an important decision without you. Not when it involved you. So what did you do wrong?
Not wanting to think about it anymore, you find your phone and text one of your friends, Maddie, who lives nearby.
hey
can i stay with u for a bit?
Less than five minutes later, she responds, no questions asked.
of course!
u don’t even have to ask, ur always welcome here
Packing what you might need for a few days into a small bag, you grab a sticky note to leave for the boys. Simply writing down, staying at a friend’s house for a bit, you think about writing something along the lines of “don’t worry about me!” But you’re not sure if they would even care or if they would laugh at the fact that you thought they would. Deciding to leave the note as it is, you take one last look at the apartment before walking out the door.
Having chosen not to wake you up, the boys all knew you would be late. But when it’s nearly halfway through the day and you still haven’t shown up to work, they start to grow worried. Unable to contain himself any longer, Jungkook asks their manager, “Where’s y/n?” The six other boys stop what they’re doing, trying but failing to discreetly listen in. Their manager gives them all a confused look but answers them anyway. “Y/n? She called in sick,” he says as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
It was expected that if anyone would know what was going on with you, it would be them because they literally live with you, but apparently not. “Right, I forgot. Thanks,” awkwardly clearing his throat, Jungkook slightly bows to their manager before quickly walking away and giving his Hyungs a troubled look. Now they’re really worried. It’s clear that the seven boys aren’t focused throughout the second day of the shoot, and all the staff breathe a sigh of relief when the members get called up to Bang’s office for a meeting.
Knocking and entering Bang’s office, they all bow before taking a seat in front of the desk. “I hope you guys haven’t said anything to y/n about yesterday’s meeting,” Bang says as the boys situate themselves. “Oh trust me, we haven’t said anything at all,” Yoongi scoffs.
“When I told you guys not to address the situation with her, that didn’t mean just not talking to her about it. It meant not taking any action before we get more information,” Bang sighs, shaking his head at them, “We found out who leaked those photos, and it wasn’t y/n.” Everyone’s back quickly straightens, Hoseok nearly jumping out of his chair at how fast he sat up. “Really?” Jimin asks hopefully.
Bang nods as he pulls up camera footage on his computer and turns the monitor so the boys can see. “We surveyed her activity in the building the past few days and caught this,” Bang points to you placing your phone on a table because Taehyung had called you over for something. Moments later, another makeup artist enters the frame. She looks around making sure no one’s watching before grabbing your phone that you left unlocked.
Zooming in on your phone in her hands, they watch as she scrolls through your camera roll, sending the photos to herself before deleting any evidence. The boys are practically shaking with rage as they watch the camera footage. Rather than being angry at the fact someone invaded their privacy by leaking their photos, they’re angry at the fact that someone invaded your privacy by going through your phone.
“We’ve already dealt with the employee...” Bang’s voice doesn’t seem to reach any of their ears because all they can think about is you and how guilty they feel for doubting you. Bang lets out another deep sigh when he realizes none of the boys are listening to him. He’s already heard from their manager how they were unfocused during the shoot so against his better judgment, he decides to give them the rest of the day off.
Their schedule was packed and it was a major setback to push the schedule back even half a day. But Bang has a soft spot for these seven boys and you as well. He watched them grow up in front of his eyes. But more importantly, he watched them fall in love with you. Your aunt was a makeup artist at Big Hit when the boys first started and she always did your makeup when you asked as a little girl. She always made you feel so pretty and when you were old enough, she taught you how to do her own.
Back then, Big Hit didn’t have many makeup artists, so when she had to take a week off from work to attend a friend’s wedding, she asked you to work in her place. The boys immediately gravitated towards you as you were closer to their age than most of the staff. Although you were very shy and quiet at first, the boys quickly brought you out of your shell with their outgoingness and their eagerness to befriend you.
The company couldn’t deny the unbreakable bond that formed between you and the boys in just a week, and your skills were valuable so they decided to hire you as a permanent employee despite your young age. You stood by their side even when they were just a group of seven boys chasing their dreams and continued to support them through everything they did. No one could replace you in their hearts and Bang knew nothing was more important to them right now than sorting things out with you.
The boys silently gather their things, walking to the elevator when Jungkook breaks the silence. “We really messed up,” he says sadly. “We did,” Namjoon agrees, “We never should have doubted her, but what’s done is done, there’s no point dwelling on the past. We just have to do whatever it takes to fix this and make it up to y/n.” The boys all nod, a look of determination on all their faces.
“Jin Hyung, take the maknaes and go buy some flowers for y/n. Me, Yoongi Hyung and Namjoon will go pick up some food,” Hoseok quickly takes charge. “We’ll meet in the lobby?” Jin asks as he walks towards one of the cars with the maknaes trailing behind him. Hoseok nods as they part ways, climbing into another car with Yoongi and Namjoon.
“Should I text her so she doesn’t cook dinner?” Namjoon asks from the back. “I was thinking that too, but it would ruin the surprise. What do you think, Hyung?” Hoseok asks, keeping his eyes on the road. “After how we treated her yesterday, I wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t cook for us tonight. We don’t deserve her cooking,” Yoongi says, gazing out the window. Hoseok visibly frowns at Yoongi’s response. They all felt so terribly guilty for doubting you and treating you so horribly when you didn’t deserve it. “Yeah,” Namjoon agrees, “But knowing y/n, she probably still cooked for us anyway.”
In the end, they decide not to text you because even if you did cook, they could always store it in the fridge and eat it tomorrow. The rest of the car ride is spent in silence, regretting how they treated you yesterday and thinking about how they can express how sorry they are to you.
After meeting up in the lobby of their building, the seven boys find themselves standing outside the door to the apartment. Jin brings a finger up to his lips, shushing the other boys before quietly opening the door and peeking his head inside. He looks around but he can’t see a thing as the whole apartment is blanketed in darkness. “Is she there?” Taehyung whispers. “I don’t know,” Jin mumbles, opening the door wider so they can see.
“Y/n?” They call out in confusion as they enter the apartment. Quickly kicking off their shoes, they leave the food and flowers by the door to search for you. “Guys,” everyone over to find Yoongi standing in the kitchen, holding up your note, “She’s not here.”
Meanwhile, at Maddie’s house, you two had just finished eating dinner. You offer to do the dishes but she quickly refuses, ushering you to go get some rest. Obeying her wishes, you head upstairs to the guest bedroom, running on auto-pilot as you go through your nightly routine. It’s only once you’re laying in bed with the covers pulled up to your chin do the tears start flowing.
Drying her hands with a towel, Maddie’s about to head upstairs as well when she hears the sound of your phone ringing from the living room. You must have forgotten it downstairs. Maddie yells for you from downstairs but gets no response. Picking up your phone, she looks at the screen to find Jimin calling. She jogs up the stairs with your phone in hand, knocking on your door before opening it.
She finds you asleep with bags under your eyes and tear streaks on your cheeks. She can tell that you haven’t been getting much sleep lately and she doesn’t have the heart to wake you up. But the calls keep coming and she’s worried there might be an emergency, so she quickly steps out of the room before finally answering your phone, “Hello?”
“Maddie!” Namjoon calls out, immediately recognizing your friend’s voice, “Is y/n there?” She verbally confirms before all the boys start bombarding her with questions.
“Is she okay?”
“Is she eating properly?”
“Can we come see her?”
They had all been sitting around in the living room, Jimin’s phone on speaker mode as he called you over and over again. “She’s okay, don’t worry. She’s asleep now but she looks so tired, I didn’t want to wake her up,” Maddie explains. After a few moments of silence, Jungkook asks quietly, “Do you think she’d want to see us?”
“She didn’t really tell me about what happened so I’m not sure,” Maddie sighs into the phone. “But y/n loves you all so much. You guys can’t do any wrong in her eyes. You could punch her in the face and she’d apologize for being in the way of your fist,” Maddie jokes, trying to lighten the mood. But they all know it’s the truth and that only makes them feel worse. They wish you would blame them and get angry with them. But they know that even when they’re the ones in the wrong, you always blame yourself and that’s what they hate the most.
“We’ll let her rest, then,” Namjoon tells Maddie, “Thank you for taking care of y/n.” Maddie brushes off Namjoon’s thanks, telling them that she’ll always be here for you. After wishing each other goodnight, Jimin finally hangs up the call with a sigh.
At HYBE the next morning, the boys all perk up when you walk into the room. But your eyes are downcast on the floor as you cross the room, quickly setting up your station before getting to work. “Yoongi-ssi,” you speak timidly, “May I do your makeup?” He hates how you’re being so formal with him. What happened to all the nicknames you had for him?
But what he hates even more is how afraid and unsure of yourself you seem to be because of how they treated you last time at work. They were cold and demeaning. No one should ever be treated that way. Especially you, you deserve so much better. With a lump stuck in his throat, Yoongi just nods, staring at you down the bridge of his nose as you do his makeup. There’s so much he wants to say to you but he knows now is not the time.
Shrinking under his intense gaze, you try to focus on his makeup, careful to avoid looking into his eyes. As soon as you finish, you scurry away before he can say a word, causing him to frown. Halfway through the shoot, everyone decides to take a short break. Seeing how the boys look even more worn down than usual, you walk out of the room and head to the drink area on the floor to make them all a drink. Noticing you leaving, Jin quickly talks to the manager before grabbing the boys and running after you.
Placing the six cups of coffee and Taehyung’s one cup of hot chocolate into the tray, you turn around to head back when, “Oh shi-” You collide with a solid chest, spilling the hot drinks everywhere. You let out a gasp of horror, panicking as you start dabbing at Namjoon’s shirt with your sleeve. “I’m so sorry,” you repeat over and over as tears prick at your eyes.
You were already skating on thin ice with them and you just had to go and spill hot coffee all over Namjoon. Seeing the panic in your eyes, Namjoon tries to calm you down but you won’t even look at him. He gently takes a hold of your wrists to stop your panicked movements, bending down to get in your line of view. “Hey,” he says gently, “It’s okay.” With watery eyes and wobbling lips, you nod before looking down at the ground.
Yoongi wordlessly comes to your side, gently drying your hands with a napkin and clicking his tongue when he sees the mild burns on your hands. Jungkook comes around to your other side, taking the hand Yoongi just cleaned and bringing it up to his lips to place a soft kiss on it. You feel two pairs of arms wrap around your waist from behind you, recognizing Taehyung and Jimin’s familiar scents.
You stare in confusion as they gently take care of you while Jin and Hoseok help Namjoon out. You thought they were upset with you. Just as Jimin opens his mouth, an apology on the tip of his tongue, a staff member comes around the corner to let them know the break is over and they have to get back to the shoot.
Jin lets out a sigh, thanking the staff and promising to be there right away. Because they were given time off yesterday, they all had a lot of work to catch up on. “We’ll talk later, okay?” Jimin smiles at you gently. Knowing they have to get dressed for the next part of the shoot anyway, Jungkook pulls his hoodie off and hands it to you so can change out of your coffee-soaked shirt.
“We better not catch you working, got it Mrs. KimMinJungParkJeon?!” Jin points a finger at you. Even though the burns on your hands weren’t severe, the hot liquid left your skin irritated and they didn’t want you in any pain. You can’t help but giggle at the obnoxious but endearing nickname, nodding at Jin in understanding. You had a feeling everything was going to be okay.
Walking back into the room of the shoot a few minutes later after remaking the drinks, you stand by the side, out of everyone’s way. When the boys pause for a touch-up on makeup, you take the chance to hand out the drinks to the boys. “What did I say about working,” Jin frowns at you while Hoseok takes the drinks from your hands, mirroring Jin’s frown on his face.
“I can’t just not work,” you tell them, ignoring the disapproving looks they’re giving you, “I already took yesterday off, and the day before I didn’t work because-” You stop yourself but they all know what you’re talking about. You couldn’t work because of them. “Y/n, none of that was your fault,” Namjoon tells you. “No one will blame you for not working. You’re hurt because this idiot causes destruction wherever he goes,” Jin points at Namjoon.
“And if anyone has a problem with you not working, they can speak to us,” Yoongi says. Although he appears calm on the outside, you can’t help but feel pity for anyone who would go against him. “Because it’s our fault!” Hoseok quickly adds, “We’ll take full responsibility if anyone says anything, so don’t you worry your pretty little head about it, okay?” You simply nod before retreating back to your spot by the side.
You felt useless just standing around while everyone was working hard but you know the boys won’t let you work, so the least you could do is stay out of everyone’s way. The boys remain professional no matter how badly they want to clear everything up and reassure you you did nothing wrong, throwing you a sympathetic smile over their shoulder before they’re dragged off to their next task. You don’t blame them, knowing how busy their schedules can get.
At the end of the day, you stand outside the entrance you told Maddie to pick you up from. Patiently waiting for her, you look up when you hear the sound of a car pulling up. “Hey,” you greet her with a smile, “Thanks for picking me up.” She waves off your thanks, putting the car in park and unlocking the doors. Just as your reaching for the handle, you hear seven very familiar voices call from behind you, “Y/n!”
Turning around, you see the seven of them waving at you as they jog over. “What are you guys doing here?” you ask in confusion, knowing their cars are in the underground garage. “We didn’t really get a chance to talk today,” Jungkook pouts. You give him a soft smile, reaching up to pat his head like it’s second nature. He leans into your touch, his pout slowly turning into a content smile.
“We wanted to apologize and ask you to home with us,” Namjoon says, “Only if you feel comfortable.” They all give you their best puppy dog eyes, even Yoongi whose bottom lip is jutting out just a little bit in a slight pout. Jungkook wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you in closer to him and nuzzling into the crook of your neck. “Please y/n,” Taehyung begs. “We miss you so much,” Jimin adds on.
You couldn’t resist their pleading looks. You could see the guilt and sadness in their eyes, but also the determination to make things right. With a sigh, you give in with a nod. “Okay,” you breathe out. As soon as the word leaves your mouth, Jimin, Taehyung and Hoseok are barreling towards you, joining you and Jungkook in a group hug as they jump around and let out noises of excitement while the others let out a sigh of relief.
Maddie gets out of the car, walking around to hand a bag to Jin. “You’re the best,” he winks and sends her finger guns as he takes the bag from her hands. “What’s going on?” you ask in confusion when you realize that it’s your belongings in the bag. “We asked her to bring you stuff in case you said yes to coming home,” Jungkook mumbles into your neck.
Pulling away from you, Hoseok and the maknaes move to stand beside Jin, Yoongi and Namjoon. They all bow deeply to show their gratitude to Maddie. “Thank you for taking care of her,” Namjoon smiles, dimples and all. Maddie waves her hands frantically, “You guys don’t have to thank me! I love y/n and I’m glad she knows she can come to me whenever she needs.”
You make a face at her, trying your best not to cry as you run to engulf her in a hug. “There’s no need to cry,” she chuckles as she embraces you. You’re just so grateful that you have such wonderful people in your life. The boys let you two have your moment, watching in adoration as you sniffle into Maddie’s shoulder. You had such a soft heart and it was something they found so endearing. “Come on now,” she says as she pats your back, “I think you guys have some things to talk about.”
Pulling away, you wipe at your eyes as you say, “You have to come over for dinner sometime soon, okay?” She laughs and nods in agreement before making her way back into her car. Hoseok wraps an arm around your shoulders as the boys surround you, waving Maddie goodbye as she drives away. When she’s gone, Yoongi gently uses his thumbs to wipe at your cheeks and under your eyes.
Once he’s deemed you clear of any tears, he wordlessly intertwines your fingers with his, giving your hand a comforting squeeze before turning to the other boys. “Let’s go home?” Jin asks. “Yeah,” you nod, “Let’s go home.”

The first time that it happened in Jungkook’s presence, he swore he was seconds away from going into cardiac arrest.
When he saw you nearly kick your laptop off the bed to yank the covers over your head and curl up into a fetal position, he didn’t think much of it. You had a tendency to do that whenever you were stuck on an assignment—just giving in to your frustrations and stewing in them for a while before you could get your head straight.
But when Jungkook heard you whimper under the sheets, he instantly grew alarmed.
“Baby?” he called, placing a hand on your shoulder and feeling your entire body shake. He pulled the covers down just enough to see your face, and the sight had him crouching over your quivering form, concern evident in the furrow of his brows and the downward tug of his lips.
You were already breaking out in a sweat and your face was contorted in pain; it just made him more confused as to what was causing you so much distress. You clutched your stomach and kept burying your face in the pillows as your body agonizingly twitched. Jungkook didn’t know if you hadn’t heard him, or if you had no strength to respond.
“Hey,” he called again, urgency in his voice as he watched you struggle with a malicious unseen force. “Baby, what’s wrong?”
As expected, you didn’t answer him. Talking was too much, and you just kept on whimpering. He didn’t even realize that you were crying until you angled your head away from the pillows for a second to breathe.
“Fuck.” He ran a hand through his hair in frustration and pulled out his phone. “Fuck, I’m calling an ambulance.”
It was at this that you responded in actual words—more or less—than just moans of discomfort.
“No,” you rasped out, and weakly reached for his wrist. “Period… just cramps…”
Sure, it was cramps, but it wasn’t the monthly scheduled mild cramps that you were accustomed to. No, you had named this peculiar onslaught of menstrual pain The Great Cramps—in that it happened just once a year and usually toward the end of the year.
The Great Cramps only started after you were in high school, and you supposed that the stress of school was the genesis of your troubles. It was a horrendous experience and you could never prepare yourself for it.
Although, you couldn’t imagine what it looked like to Jungkook. You felt like you were dying, and it must have seemed like you were well on your way to the pearly gates too.
Your boyfriend kept quietly cursing under his breath and rubbing your back in an attempt to relieve a pain that he would never truly understand. It was times like these that made you hate being a woman, and it was times like these that made you miss your mother so much.
“What can I do? Can I get you some water? Painkillers?” Jungkook tentatively asked.
You weakly nodded without opening your eyes, still twisting in on yourself from the stabbing torment in your belly that was simultaneously assaulting your lower back as well. He didn’t know what you were agreeing to, so he just assumed it was both.
He left your side to search for the meds in your bathroom but he was back in a matter of minutes. Minutes that felt like they were dragging on for hours with the chaos that was wrecking your body.
Jungkook guided you to sit up, and he winced at every pained moan that left your lips, like this was hurting him too. Your face was wet with hot tears that were still rolling down your cheeks and some of your hair was sticking to your forehead from the sweat. You felt disgusting, inside and out.
He helped you take the pills—already broken in half because he knew you had a hard time swallowing the meds in their original size—and eased you back down on the mattress, all the while trying his best to ease your discomfort with soothing words that you really couldn’t care less about in that moment.
When you felt something deliciously hot press into your stomach, you looked down to see your trusty heating bottle with its plush flamingo cover. You took it from Jungkook with a small Thank you, damp eyes preparing themselves for another wave of salty tears.
Ever since you moved away for college, you never had anyone take care of you like this. Granted, this wasn’t something that happened often, but even in those instances, you were alone, and you always had to endure the searing pain that prevented you from getting the painkillers you needed.
You would just lie there in bed, silently weeping and wishing you had someone there for you. It was a mystifying kind of loneliness, to feel like you were on death’s door and no one cared, and no one would even understand.
Jungkook positioned his body right behind yours to hug you closer. He had his phone on the nightstand next to your bed, ready to call his mother or the emergency line if your pain didn’t subside. He even considered calling Jimin for advice, not that the older man would even know anything about menstrual troubles but he probably had a sneaky link who did.
You laid there in his arms for a while, waiting for the Panadol to take effect. You probably shouldn’t have taken it on an empty stomach, but you were also grateful that Jungkook was too freaked out to read the instructions. If he did, he would’ve Usain Bolt-ed to the nearest diner to get you something to eat, and you certainly didn’t have the strength to do anything other than wail.
When the havoc in your stomach and back dropped from a Level 10—bright red, “Unable to Move” and “Worst Possible Pain”—to a Level 5—yellow bordering on orange, more moderate and still distressing but manageable—you turned to face Jungkook.
“Are you okay?” he immediately asked. “Is it better? Is it worse? Should I call an ambulance? I’ll call an ambulanc–”
“I’m fine,” you said, or more like croaked out. “It hurts less than before. I’m fine.”
“Oh. Okay,” he sighed, visibly more relieved at your reassurance though he was still confused. “Then what’s wrong? Why are you still crying?”
Because it was so nice.
(Not The Great Cramps, of course not. You would give up on drinking chai tea for the rest of your life if it meant you never had to go through The Great Cramps ever again.)
The warmth from the heating bottle was nice, and having your boyfriend’s arms snugly wrapped around you was nice. You were slowly regaining access to other feelings now that the pain was going away.
Having Jungkook and letting him take care of you was nice. You loved it, and maybe you loved him too.
“Thank you,” you said with a sniffle, trying your best to muster an appreciative smile for him. “Thank you for taking care of me. You didn’t have to do that.”
His features softened. “You don’t have to thank me. I’m always here for you, okay? I–” Jungkook stopped himself. You could both feel what was potentially unfolding, and you wanted to say it as much as he seemingly did. But maybe it wasn’t the best moment to utter those three words when you were high on painkillers and just coming down from the worst kind of rollercoaster ride.
Jungkook kissed your forehead and sighed. “You’re my girlfriend.”
You smiled as the feeling in your chest began to grow warmer than the one pressed into your stomach. Yeah, maybe you did love him. “You’re my boyfriend.”
And those three words were more than enough for now.
Jungkook held you tighter, and you reckoned that if he pressed your bodies closer together, the cap might pop off the heating bottle and burn you both with scalding hot water. He buried his face into the crook of your neck and the tables seemed to have turned, like he was now the one that needed comforting.
“I was so scared. I hated seeing you in pain. I hated it so much. Please don’t do that ever again.”
Sure, loverboy. Not like it was something you purposefully chose to do. But you hummed anyway as you played with his soft hair. Something else erupted in your stomach instead.
“Okay, I’ll try.”
You had gotten used to Jungkook being there to help you through the pain over the past few years. He even downloaded a period tracker app to notify him when you were getting close to shark week.
Every month, regardless of whether it was nearing the time of The Great Cramps or not, you always had your personal care package, curated with love by Jungkook so you could be as comfortable as possible. He made sure to stay by your side whenever he didn’t have classes, out of fear that you might just collapse on the street and be left there to die.
The chances of that happening were slim, but he insisted on the two of you being joined at the hip.
You loved being doted on and babied by Jungkook. You loved being loved by him.
Here you are, bunking with the monthly red demon and the annual ultra cramps. The problem is, The Great Cramps came early this year—August instead of November/December. And it’s your first year without Jungkook too.
It always takes you by surprise, whacking you in the face without any warning. You were in the middle of preparing dinner when the bitch struck, and your legs almost gave out from the sudden pain that ripped through your belly.
A couple of onions fell helplessly to the floor as you abandoned your kitchen counter to rush to your bedroom, plopping onto the mattress and instantly clutching your stomach.
As if the wound in your heart wasn’t still fresh and bleeding; the universe had to dump this on you too. When it rains, it pours.
If you called Taehyung, there was no doubt that he would be here in a heartbeat, going into full Mama Bear mode. But your phone is out there in the kitchen, the painkillers are stashed in your medicine cabinet, and the heating bottle is in a drawer somewhere. You’re paralyzed; all you can do is cry, and wait for this agony to pass.
You miss your mother so much. You and her have always clashed on many things. When you were younger, you were a rebellious teen. Not in the sense that you were out partying all the time and hanging out with bad people. You just wanted to break free of the life trajectory that she envisioned for you, regardless of whether it made you happy or not.
She doesn’t agree with what you chose to study, and she certainly disapproves of what you do for a living. It isn’t enough. You’ve never been enough for your mother.
God knows she didn’t support your relationship with Jungkook, and her disdain for it grew even more after she found out what happened to his family.
But you miss her. Even if you don’t get along, she was still your mother. Whenever you got sick, she would stroke your hair and make sure your pillows were comfortable. Even if the air between the two of you were tense most of the time, homemade soup prepared by your mother always tasted better.
You miss Jungkook too. So terribly much.
Guess that’s just one more person to miss this time of year.
And just like that, the peculiar loneliness returns.

Park Jimin
"Well if it isn't my favourite girl." A voice slurs slowly, right next to your ears which makes you flinch in surprise.
"Jimin, gosh, what's wrong with you?" You say in an annoyed manner, immediately recognising the person. "Also, maybe keep some distance?"
Jimin pouts exaggeratedly and puts extra effort into widening his eyes for special effects. "Don't you find me being this close to you, heart racing-ly desirable?"
"Heart racing-ly? That's a new one," you snort and roll your eyes. "But to answer your question; no. It is not heart racing-ly desirable."
"Lie all you want but we all know the truth," Jimin smirks and you can't help but wonder how on earth he manages to remain this cocky even when drunk.
"Cut the crap and stop wasting my time." You turn around to leave, not wanting to give Jimin the time of your day. From your previous experiences, you know that Jimin only ever causes trouble.
"I'm not feeling good, Y/N," he whines, all cockiness suddenly gone from his tone as he pleads gently. "Don't leave me."
You contemplate for a split second before huffing in defeat. "What do you mean by you're not feeling good?"
"I don't know," he shrugs with a sad frown. "I just don't feel good."
Instinctively, you place your palms on his forehead only to find his skin to be burning hot.
"Jimin!" You exclaim, your feelings of indifference instantly turning into that of concern. "You have high fever."
"That might explain why I was feeling so hot," he nods. "But I thought that was because of how attractive I am."
Any other time, you would have retorted with a comeback but right now you pay no attention to his words. "Come with me, we need to get you back to your room. You need rest."
Much to your surprise, Jimin doesn't throw a protest and lets you hold his hand as you make way for the both of you through the partying crowd.
Thankfully his room is only upstairs (one of the many pros of being a frat boy living in a frat house) and you don't have much trouble getting there.
Making Jimin sit on the bed, you look for medicines that can help with his fever. "How long have you been feeling unwell?"
"For about an hour."
You have half a mind to lecture him on how drinking should be the last thing he should have done while feeling unwell, but you decide to keep it in. Maybe when he's sober and in a better health condition, you will give him an earful.
Right now, it's more important to understand the severity of the situation.
"Did you stay out for too long at night? Or stayed with wet clothes on? Or something that might have led to you having a fever?"
Jimin's drunk mind feels perplexed by the series of questions you're throwing his way. "Does it matter?"
"Yes, it does," you respond shortly.
As a nursing student, you know how important it is to know the source of any sickness. If his fever can be tracked down to any possible cause, you'd have this reassurance that there's most likely nothing to worry about. However, if the fever seems to have appeared out of nowhere, there are chances that it may be a symptom of some underlying infection.
Your response makes Jimin think. Has he done anything in recent days that could have led to this? At first, nothing comes to mind. But after a few moments of intense brainstorming, something clicks in his brain.
"Does having two hours of shower sex count?" He queries seriously.
Your hands momentarily falter on their journey of looking for the first aid box but you recover quickly.
"Should have expected something like that from you," you grumble in annoyance.
"Don't be mean," he complains in a whine. "It's not my fault that the sex was so good. Plus, she kept asking for more and you know I can't say no to that."
You slam the drawer shut and aggressively open the box, having finally found it. You take out a tablet and hand it over to Jimin with a glass of water.
Once Jimin has taken the medicine, you arrange the pillows for him and take a blanket out. "Go to sleep. Let your body have some rest."
"Are you leaving?" He asks in a quiet voice, reminding you of a small child asking a question they already know the answer to.
"I don't think I have any purpose being here. I'll ask Jungkook to stay with you in case you need something."
"Jungkook won't take care of me the way you do," Jimin replies with a huff, thoroughly displeased with the idea of you leaving him.
"That's not my issue," you shrug.
Jimin switches to his last option, one that works every time and on everyone; his famous, irresistible puppy eyes. "Do you not have any sympathy for me?"
You scoff, your patience running thin. You really don't want to have a fight or speak your mind while he's having a fever, but if he continues to prod you this way, he will be responsible for the inevitable outburst.
Jimin feels unhappy with your lack of response and he attempts once again. "Won't you do this much for me? Please?"
That's it. The way his soft voice pulls at your heartstrings does it for you.
"Can you, for once, not think only for yourself?" You snap.
Now that was not the reaction Jimin was expecting. "What do you mean?"
"Don't try to play dumb," you roll your eyes and cross your arms. "Don't tell me you have no idea how I feel about you."
Although drunk, Jimin's mind registers the seriousness of your words and he immediately looks sheepish. "I don't."
Well, that's a lie and both you and Jimin know it.
A sarcastic smile appears on your face. "I'll spell it out for you, again. I like you Jimin."
Jimin looks down and starts fiddling with the end of the bedsheets as he nods, having no other response.
You sigh, wondering why you expected any other, perhaps a more thoughtful reaction from him. Feeling disappointed with yourself, you make your way out without another word.
On your way, however, you make sure to find Jungkook and ask him to look after Jimin.
Once you're out of the frat house and have booked a cab to your rented apartment, you sit on a small bench and take a deep inhale to relax. Sadly and much to your frustration, the emotions that have come to the surface refuse to let you have your peace of mind.
You really should have stayed away from Jimin, from the very start.
Your brain chimes at you and it reminds you that perhaps there's no one else to be blamed but you. You are the one who has been entertaining Jimin all in the name of not entertaining him.
It was a frat party much similar to that of today's when Jimin had first tried to add your name to the long list of girls he has had sex with. You were surprised, caught off guard and admittedly a little flattered by his flirtatious actions but irrespective of that, you weren't willing to be a part of his list.
You had asked him to fuck off and to leave you alone. Which he had done at the time but only to return later with much more determination to win you over. By then, you weren't feeling flattered by his repeated attempts, you were annoyed. Something, which Jimin found amusing.
The more he tried, the more your annoyance flared and so did Jimin's amusement. It went like this for a couple of weeks.
Things started to change when you stumbled upon a drunk Jimin sitting alone on the terrace. That was the first time the both of you had a proper conversation with each other. It made you realise that the whole fuckboy thing he has going on, is only a small part of him. You realised that there's much more to the guy than what meets the eye.
From then on you stopped treating him like a guy whose sole identity was that of the 'campus fuckboy'.
That doesn't mean that his actions stopped annoying you. But you sure found it more tolerable.
However, exactly when your feelings for him turned romantic, remains debatable. Was it the night when he drunkenly kissed you? Or was it when he drunkenly confessed that he enjoys your company more than anyone else's? You don't know.
But you do remember, exactly when you realised that your feelings for him don't fall under the category of platonic. It was when you saw Jimin making out with a petite blonde in a bar. The pain and jealousy that shot through your veins was an indication enough for you to see how your feelings have bloomed into something more.
You, upon realising, did not hesitate to confess. His response to your confession was simple. He does not do relationships and he sees you as a friend.
You could do with that. You weren't expecting Jimin to return your feelings or to commit to you. After all, you were well aware of his lifestyle and how he likes having lovers instead of a lover.
The only reason you had confessed to him was in hopes that he would stop trying to bed you and realise that it isn't just fun and games for you anymore.
Unfortunately, Jimin didn't stop with his antics.
Annoyed and angry, you had decided to cut Jimin off. But of course, he wouldn't have that. He would, in some way or the other, sneak into your daily life and cause a ruckus as if it were his birthright.
Truth be told, you weren't hurt by his rejection as much as you were by his total disregard for your feelings and how his actions and choices could affect you.
The events from today serve as another example of the kind of emotional turmoil he stirs within you. The question is how long will you put up with this?
Your cab honks to announce its arrival and it causes you to break out of your thoughts. You give a small nod to the man in the driving seat and get up. As you walk towards the cab, you make up your mind.
You're not going to entertain him any longer.

Tae: I'm being chased away
Tae: but okay xD
Tae: I'll let you get back to it.
You bite on your lower lip to stop smiling like a fool and try to focus your attention on the computer screen. Keyword; try.
The butterflies in your stomach and the fluttering of your heart make it extremely difficult for you to think about anything else that's not Taehyung.
Gosh, he really is the greatest distraction of them all.
--------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, you find a big pack of chocolate from your favourite brand, on your desk. Attached to it is a note that reads for my favourite girl ;). You smile involuntarily and wonder what you ever did to deserve someone like Taehyung in your life.
You sit on your chair and while the computer boots, you take a small bite from the chocolate bar. As you relish the sweetness that spreads in your mouth, you can't help but think of Taehyung and how much he has come to mean to you, in the few months that you have known him.
When he first joined the company he was shy, barely talking to anyone and having a hard time socialising with his co-workers. It took him about a couple of weeks to get comfortable and once he did, there was no going back. He somehow became everyone's favourite.
However, the way you two became friends is a bit different.
Four months ago, on a fortunate day, there was a huge mishap with the data files. Small groups were formed to work on the mistakes and correct them as necessary. As fate would have it, you and Taehyung were a team. And the amount of jokes you two made about your higher-ups, were perhaps the only source of energy for you both to carry on with the work and ultimately, finish it.
And those three intense working days were enough for the two of you to become friends.
It started with having small conversations via text, which then turned into full lengthy regular conversations. In the midst of all of that, when the flirting began, you have no clue. All you remember are those nights when you stayed up late, talking to him and smiling into your pillow, feeling like a teenager.
He would sneak little compliments and warm affectionate words that would have you looking like a tomato in a matter of seconds.
Most importantly, he has become one of your closest friends. He has been there whenever you needed him and has confided in you whenever he faced challenges. The bond you two share is something you treasure deeply. He has become such an integral part of your life that there hardly goes by a day when the two of you don't talk to each other.
It's one of those 'more than friends' but 'not really dating' scenarios.
You had never given much thought about giving a label to what the two of you were. You were happy having him the way you do. But recently, you can't help but think of taking things to the next level. You find yourself wondering what it would be like to call him your boyfriend.
As the all too familiar windows tune plays, notifying you of the booting process being completed, you decide to subtly ask him about it.
----------------------------------------
"Did you like the chocolates?" That's the first thing Taehyung asks as you take the seat opposite to him.
"Do you think I would not like it?" You answer his question with a question of your own. Because honestly, that's a very silly question to ask. Anyone who knows you knows how much you love chocolates.
Taehyung grins, his boxy smile making an appearance. "I mean, it would still be nice to hear it from you."
"Well, then, I loved it."
He nods, satisfied with your answer. Placing one of his hands on his chest, right above his heart, he bows. "I'm honoured to know that."
You chuckle softly, endeared at his actions. "How was your day so far?"
He rolls his eyes. "Eh, the usual. Mina got some files messed up and I had to do twice the work to fix that."
"That sucks," you grimace. "Work has been so tiring lately, I wish we could take a small break from all this shit."
"Oh, that reminds me–" Taehyung exclaims suddenly, startling you, "–I have got these free tickets to a movie, would you like to go with me?"
Excitement bubbles in your stomach. "Sure! I'd love to."
"Then it's set! I'll let you know of the date and time later, okay?"
You nod, feeling giddy at the thought of watching a movie with him. It won't be the first time for sure, but it has been a while since the two of you last did something like this. Work hardly leaves any spare time for rest and fun.
However, the thought of spending some alone time with him, makes your mind go back to what you had decided while you were devouring the chocolate. You clear your throat before bringing the topic to the table. "Tae?"
"Hmm?"
"What are we doing?"
He looks up from his food, with a confused smile. "What do you mean by that? We are eating lunch."
You shake your head softly, and make your question more obvious. "What are we?"
You see as his confusion clears out and his smile fades. A look of discomfort appears on his face as he swallows the food. "Well, we are friends."
"Are we just friends though?" You raise a brow in question, not willing to accept his answer.
A soft sigh escapes his lips when he realises he can't really back out of this or push the conversation away for some time later. "You aren't just a friend to me. I like you. I like you a lot."
You stay quiet, sensing that there's a but coming.
"But I don't think I'm ready to be in a relationship." He adds, figuring out that there's no way to put it subtly.
That wasn't the answer you were expecting and naturally, you feel disheartened by his words.
Taehyung notices the way your face has dropped and he immediately feels guilty. "I know I should have told you this before. My intentions weren't to string you along, I genuinely do like you–"
"Then why?" You cut him off, confused and unable to understand what could be the issue if he really likes you the way he claims to.
"I am scared it will distract me from my career."
Your first instinct is to counter his statement and say, it doesn't work that way. That relationships are not a distraction. But you hold yourself back from saying so.
If he believes that having a relationship will distract him, you cannot force or persuade him to believe otherwise. If anything, you understand where he might be coming from. He has only recently joined the company and you know he has experienced financial issues while growing up. You can see why he might be scared of something making him lose his focus. Having an established career is what he wants and what seems to be his priority.
Although you have been hoping and looking forward to putting a label, you know you can't expect that from him anymore. You could try and ask him to reconsider his choices but what good would that do?
Even if he were to get into a relationship, he would most likely still have that thought in the back of his mind and will keep worrying about getting sidetracked. What's the point of committing to someone if you can't really enjoy it to the fullest? What is the point of calling someone yours, if you can't fully feel the beauty of it? You see none.
"Maybe, we can wait for each other?" He suggests meekly, too scared to see what your reaction to the question is.
Now, waiting for each other and whatnot sounds really romantic in movies and romcoms but you have to remind yourself that this is not a movie. In real life, irrespective of the intentions the individuals may hold, somewhere along the line, something usually happens that causes chaos and turns things sour.
"How about we just let things flow and see where it takes us?" You suggest as that seems like the best possible choice at the moment.
Taehyung nods knowing he's in no place to bargain. He will take whatever you will give him. However, it bugs him to no end when you spend the rest of the lunch in silence and with a frown on your face.
Jeon Jungkook
"Can you sit still for a moment?"
The person in question, aka Jungkook, pays no attention to your words and hollers when something exciting occurs on the screen of his mobile phone.
You sigh and place your palms on both of his cheeks and make him look up. However, the adorable sight of his squished cheeks, pouty lips and doe eyes wide in surprise, has you snorting. When you let go of your hold, he frowns, offended by your laughter.
"What's so funny about my face?" He grumbles.
You shake your head and apply blush on his cheeks. "You just looked like a real bunny for a second there, couldn't help but laugh at that."
He pouts. "That's supposed to be cute, not funny."
A fond smile appears on your face at his displeasure. "You're both cute and funny, I guess."
Jungkook grins at you, now satisfied. "Now make me cuter."
"I'll be able to do that if you stay still for a moment," you retort.
Jungkook huffs and closes his eyes. "Fine! I'll stay still."
You hum in response and get to work.
Being Jungkook's make-up artist was fairly easy. You just had to make his beautiful face appear flawless for the cameras. Nothing too difficult. Jungkook was friendly and so were the other BTS members. The pay was, of course, more than satisfactory.
Recently, however, being Jungkook's make-up artist hasn't been easy. It hasn't been easy being this close to him and keeping the fluttering of your heart under control. It hasn't been easy to see his eyes this up close and not let yourself get lost in them. It hasn't been easy to notice that small mole under his lips and resist the urge to kiss it. Oh no, it hasn't been easy at all.
One might call you unprofessional and to be honest, you don't have much to defend yourself with. Rather, if someone questions your professionalism, you'd challenge them to take your job and not fall for the guy.
You think it's simply impossible.
But you see, that's the simple part. Falling. The consequences of falling, however, are where the complications begin.
The very first question that comes to mind is; what are the chances that they might feel the same? Then one realises that there's no way to answer this for sure as it's only the other person who's aware of what they feel. Which leads to a major dilemma; to confess or not to confess.
Confessing your feelings is a very vulnerable thing to do. It feels like exposing yourself at one's mercy. Like a delicate bud that you hand over and whether the flower will bloom or wilt, totally depends on the other person.
It's beautiful yet scary.
For a long time, you haven't been willing to be that vulnerable with Jungkook.
All anxieties that come with confessing aside, you can't ignore the fact that he's a world-famous idol.
You are not worried about word getting out about you falling for him. You hardly think that it will cause a stir. If anything, the fans will probably make memes out of it and will agree with you on how impossible it is to not fall for the guy. The memes will be all over the internet for a few months and after that, they will be gone and will resurface every once in a while. That doesn't seem like much to you and you think you can handle it.
What does worry you is word getting out and you getting fired and not getting a job henceforth (you're pretty sure that the agencies won't take up on your 'don't fall for Jungkook' challenge).
This particular fear is what has been holding you back from letting Jungkook know of your feelings.
However, the thing with love is, you cannot bury it no matter how hard you try. It's like the sun that comes out to shine no matter what. Love blooms in the heart and it refuses to stay hidden for too long behind whatever fears the mind comes up with.
After all, in the battle of mind and heart, when has the former ever won?
Once you're done with the finishing touches, you let Jungkook know that you're done.
Jungkook opens his eyes and they automatically land on yours. The sharp spike in your breathing rate and the loud thumping of your heartbeat, makes you look away immediately.
You clear your throat and take a slow deep inhale to calm your racing heart. "I'll put the lip balm and foundation in the kit. Just in case you need it."
"You say that every time before a performance as if you're not going to be backstage," he chuckles in amusement.
"Jungkook, the performance is in fifteen," Taehyung says loudly from the other side of the room.
It's like a switch being flipped on. Jungkook's eyes widen and he gets up from his seat instantly. Bidding you a quick goodbye, he exits the room in a hurry.
You sigh in relief, finally feeling like you can breathe again. Taking a seat on the chair previously occupied by Jungkook, you stare at your reflection in the mirror. You notice the red hue on your cheeks and your lips part in awe at how flustered you look. Almost, as if you have run a mile.
Something about this moment makes you come to a quick decision. For a long time, you have been toying with the idea of confessing but have always backed out every time you had a chance. But not anymore.
You grab a small piece of paper and a pen and write down what you have been wanting to tell Jungkook.
You make it direct and simple and put it in Jungkook's handbag.
The moment you zip the chain, you feel this urge to take the chit out and throw it in the dustbin but you somehow, withhold yourself from doing so.
You are aware that he won't notice the chit until he's back in his dorms. The bag contains all the skin care products (handpicked by you) he uses before going to bed. Which also means you would have to wait until tomorrow when you're back to work to know Jungkook's answer.
Seems like it's gonna be a sleepless night for you.
----------------------------------------------------------------
The next day, you go to work with nervous excitement. While in the car, you couldn't wait for your destination to arrive yet at the same time dreading it. It's this mixed feeling where you can't decide what you want but in the end, realise that it's better to just get over it.
However, while you're walking towards Jungkook's make-up room, Namjoon calls your name.
"Y/N," he shouts to get your attention. Once he notices he has it, he walks up to you. "My dressing room is the other way."
"I know that," you say with a small frown, wondering why he is telling you this.
"Oh," Namjoon realises that you're unaware of the changes. "You don't know, do you?"
You shake your head, your confusion only increasing. "Know what?"
"Jungkook has requested a new make-up artist. So now, you're in charge of my make up," he replies.
Namjoon's words ring in your ears and you feel the world around you fade. You knew that there was always the chance that he doesn't feel the same way. You knew if that were the case it'd hurt but you'd accept it. However, you didn't expect Jungkook to do this.
It feels like the unbloomed flower has been stomped by someone and you're left to feel the crushing pain.

They Reject You (Hyung Line)- Part Two
A/N: Tumblr finally allowed me to put gifs!!!!!! Also, if you find Yoongi's and Namjoon's part short, that was intentional. I wanted to keep the suspense till the third part, which is gonna be the last one for hyung line 😉. Hope you enjoy!
Jin
You have been avoiding Jin. Why? Because even though you're an adult, you feel embarrassed and hurt and don't know how to deal with the pain. You can't just bring yourself to suck it up and pretend that you're fine. Worst of all, pretending does not work with Jin. He just knows.
Just like how he knows that your excuses of why you won't be able to meet up with him, are just that; excuses.
Initially, he was fine with it, knowing it's normal for anyone to want their space and time. But as days went by, his discomfort kept increasing. His urge to just wrap you in a hug and never let go kept intensifying. Most importantly, there was this urgent need to apologise for not knowing what to say to your confession.
The confession had indeed caught him off guard but even then, you deserved better than a jumble of words. He can only imagine how terrifying it must be for you, someone he knows to be an overthinker, to confess to him. He knows you must have analysed and played every scenario in your mind before letting the words slip out. He also knows that confessing must have been the last option for you.
Which is why his words before and after your confession, make him feel angry at himself. But then he didn't know any better, did he?
However, now he does.
After a whole month of you ignoring him, dodging his calls and not responding to texts, he decides to take matters into his own hands.
Standing outside of your class, he patiently (impatiently) waits for the bell to ring, so that he can finally talk to you. When the bell does ring, he straightens and stands there watching as slowly people start to leave.
After a while, he spots you with a friend, chatting animatedly about something.
The sound of your name leaves his lips and your body freezes. You take a deep breath, before turning towards him and greeting him with a small smile.
By the look on your face, he just knows.
He knows that you want to greet him enthusiastically, want to go on a rant about your physics professor, want to be the casual and carefree version of you with him. But your eyes tell him, that you can't bring yourself to be.
He returns your smile and you know that he's aware of your emotional turmoil. You feel your heart ache at the thought of it.
"Can I talk to you for a moment?" He asks in a timid voice that does not sound like his, at all.
You contemplate for a moment before nodding with a soft smile and excusing yourself. When you step towards him so as to not block the entrance, you take notice of the way he fidgets with his fingers. Your fingers itch to take a hold of his, but you know you shouldn't. You shouldn't allow yourself to feel his warmth because you know your heart will desperately hope for his comfort to mean more than it does. For you to have him in ways that you now know, you can't.
"How have you been?" His throat bobs as the words leave his mouth.
"Eh, you know exams and assignments, nothing new," you shrug. "What about you?"
"Can't really say fine," he replies with eyes that shine with words and emotions he can't express. Your features soften at his response. You know this isn't easy on him either.
"I'm sorry for making things messy–"
"Don't you dare say that," Jin's firm voice cuts you off.
You mentally scold yourself for your heart skipped a few beats at how kind and loving Jin is. It only reminds you why you need some time away from him.
Sighing, you give him a tender smile. "I know this isn't anyone's fault but it's still difficult for the both of us. But I just need some time to move on, just till then?"
You see the way Jin's eyes reflect both pain, longing and understanding. "Can I get a hug, at least?"
A part of you immediately feels the need to say 'no' to his request. You don't want to feel his warmth. You're scared it would ruin any progress that you have made. But then you really do want to hug your best friend because you have missed him.
This is why folks, you should not fall for your best friend. Too much drama.
Making a quick decision and choosing not to overthink any further, you embrace him in a hug. A surprised gasp leaves Jin's lips, which is soon followed by a satisfied sigh and arms wrapping around you.
The smell of your shampoo evades his senses and his eyes close automatically, as he basks in the familiarity and comfort that comes with you. Fuck, he missed you.
His nose gently snuggles against your hair and he takes a deep breath and he wonders what it would be like to wake up next to you, like this. All snuggled up, you in his arms and his nose buried in your hair. However, the thought is gone when he realises the suddenness of it.
Where did it come from?
He does not get enough time to gather his thoughts as you gently part from the hug and sigh. For the briefest of moments, his eyes drop to your lips and he feels a weird sensation in his body.
"I'll have to leave for the next class," you keep your voice soft knowing how tender the moment is. Or maybe it's your heart that's tender.
He, however, does not know how to respond. His mind feels all fogged up and he feels frozen. All he comes up with is a nod and he tries to look as sincere and in the moment as he can so that it does not worry you.
When you turn around to leave, his eyes linger on your retreating figure and he
feels his heart scream at him to go back into your arms and to never let go.
Yoongi
Y/N: Hey, can we raincheck? I've got a meeting to attend.
Yoongi looks at the screen and sighs. Well, if it isn't the fourth time that you have cancelled. Something that makes it pretty obvious to him that you're doing everything in your power to avoid him.
He knows it's because of what happened on the last date. Thinking back on it, he thinks he hasn't been as honest with you as you have been with him.
Well, technically, he did say the truth. But then when the truth isn't explained, it can often be misinterpreted. Which again is his fault and he knows that.
He knows that he kind of wasn't able to express his exact emotions (because when has he ever been able to do that), but maybe you should not just straight out ignore him like this.
It makes him feel guilty about his words.
He wishes he had worded it in a better way. Wishes, he had told you that he wasn't expecting to get married this soon and that he could not let himself relax into the idea of getting married.
But then anyone would be shocked if they were to wake up one day and realise that they are getting married to someone they don't even know properly.
It's not like he didn't know that this is how it was going to be. He just didn't know that it was going to be this soon. He just assumed that it would be somewhere in his late thirties. Definitely not in his twenties.
Yoongi: Are you free tomorrow?
Now, that is very different from the 'okay' he usually sends you. This might also be the first time he has let it show that he too, wants to meet you.
Your response comes to him after ten minutes.
Y/N: I don't think I will be free till next week.
Well, then.
Yoongi: so the week after?
He responds instantly.
Y/N: I'll have to check my schedule. I'm not really sure.
Yoongi's frustration gets the better of him.
Yoongi: Can we please just meet up and talk?
The words on the screen stare at you causing nervous butterflies to fly in your stomach. The butterflies are, however, soon followed by a sinking feeling when you realise what meeting up would mean.
Somewhere, somehow you'd have to address what happened during the last date. You, confessing to him and then him telling you that he does not feel the same.
Every time you recall that scene, your mind and heart, hurts. It makes you pity the situation you both find yourselves in.
It also makes you feel guilty that despite not liking you, he has to marry you. It makes you feel as if you're trapping him in a lifelong bond when he deserves better. Not to mention, how your minimum expectations might always remain fulfilled. How can they be met when there is no love?
Time stops when you suddenly have the realisation that both of you deserve better. You deserve to be married to someone you love. Yoongi deserves to be married to someone he loves and wants. You both should not have to wake up next to each other and feel like the relationship is a chore.
Fuck, you can't get married to him. You need to do something.
But you know there's no way either of you can talk yourselves out of this arrangement by simply talking about it to your parents. But there has to be some way.
Maybe you and Yoongi will be able to come up with an idea, together.
Y/N: a meeting of mine got cancelled.
Y/N: I'm free tomorrow.
Namjoon
Namjoon has a lot going on right now.
Exams, assignments, projects. These things in themselves are tiring. To add to that is the emotional turmoil he is facing. He has to pretend that he's not feeling guilty as fuck in front of his best friend as if he didn't just crush the said best friend's sister's heart, a week ago in the middle of a party.
And even though it's been a week, your words still haunt him. The look in your eyes and the way you looked so broken yet angry. All because of him.
He also can't believe that you had to watch him with other girls on more than one occasion. He does not know how you managed to pretend that everything was fine and went as long as you did, without snapping. He honestly has no idea how you did it but he's glad it's done. Now that the cat is out of the bag, things should be fine with time.
His line of thought is proven to be wishful when he walks inside Yoongi's dorm and notices you standing there.
You look just as caught off guard as Namjoon feels. However, after a few moments, you school your features and pretend to be nonchalant towards his presence and focus your attention solely on Yoongi.
"Yoongi, did you find the book? I'll have to leave for my class," your voice breaks the silence, making Yoongi look at you.
Namjoon does not know if he should be grateful for Yoongi's presence or not. On one hand, Yoongi being here is a good thing because that way you and Namjoon aren't alone in the room. On the other, Namjoon is sure Yoongi can feel the way the atmosphere turned tense from the moment of his arrival.
"I told you, I'm looking for it," he grumbles in an annoyed tone. "I swear I kept it on the table."
Yoongi misplacing things isn't new at all. But what is new is how his sister and best friend remain silent instead of making fun of him.
You and Namjoon when together, are usually a pain in the ass for Yoongi, always teaming up against him whenever the chance arises and him forgetting where he keeps his things, is sure, one. But today, there seems to be no intention of pulling his leg. If the two of your body language weren't weird enough, this behaviour surely is and makes it obvious to him that something is wrong.
However, what he has no idea. But he thinks it's none of his business. You both are adults and if there's something wrong, you two should be able to solve it on your own.
Looking around for the said book a little more, Yoongi huffs. A huff that conveys his frustration and the fact that he's about to give up on his search for the object.
"Go to your class, I'll find it by today," his next words confirm this.
You roll your eyes to let him know that you're annoyed but not surprised. "I need it by today, don't forget that."
He waves his hand in a dismissing tone. "Got it. Now shoo."
You collect your belongings and leave the room without paying Namjoon any further attention. Your refusal to acknowledge his presence hurts him in a way that has him itching to reach out to you. But he knows he can't do that. Not after everything.
However, after your departure, the silence that he is met with is even more suffocating. It's one of those silences that Yoongi allows to linger to allow Namjoon to talk if he wants to. If not, that's fine too.
Namjoon decides on taking the opportunity and chooses to be honest. Because he does not how long can he go like this without having an outburst. "I need to tell you something."
"Go on," Yoongi replies with a shrug as if he did not see this coming.
Hoseok
You and Hoseok have remained friends.
Initially, it was quite difficult for you. Your mind couldn't help but come up with scenarios where he reciprocated your feelings and you two were happy with each other.
But since that cannot be the case, you had to move on. And what better way to move on, than registering on a dating site, right?
So, that's what you did. You opened a tinder account and went on dates. After two catfish cases and four failed dates, you finally found one guy you liked. Someone, who's your type and someone you can hold a genuine conversation with.
Although, the two of you are not in an official relationship, yet. You'd like to think that you are headed there. Slowly but gradually.
You two are at a stage where you both can talk about anything with each other like friends do but at the same time flirt, kiss and go on dates. It's just perfect and light.
Which is why you didn't think twice before asking if he would like to join you as your plus-one, at a friend's birthday party. That way you would get to introduce him to your friends and vice versa.
Much to your delight, he seemed excited at the prospect of meeting your friends.
Which leads you here, in the middle of a club, with your close group of friends and Henry.
After some time of dancing and swaying your hips to the beat, you decide to head to the bar to get yourself a drink to quench your thirst. It's when you are waiting for your drink that you hear the sound of your name which causes you to freeze. It's not so much about your name being called, rather it's about the voice that called your name.
"Ho-Hoseok?" You stutter the name out, genuinely surprised to find him here.
"Hey," he smiles at you with the same amount of surprise and glee. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here for a friend's birthday," you reply, trying to relax your features and return his smile. "What about you?"
"I'm here with Jimin. Just wanted to have some fun for the weekend," his voice gets a little louder when the music turns into a more upbeat one.
As soon as the words are out of his mouth, another figure approaches the both of you. Jimin.
He, too, looks pleasantly surprised to see you. "Y/N! Did not expect to see you here."
"Jimin!" You exclaim, now feeling some of the discomfort evaporating. "Everyone's idea of fun weekends really has come down to alcohol huh?" You tease lightly.
"To be fair–"
"Y/N?" An arm comes to rest on your back and you recognise the voice to be Henry's.
Shit, this is going to be awkward.
Now that Hoseok and Henry are right in front of each other, you find yourself feeling anxious about how the whole encounter between them will go. You know that you have to introduce them but how do you introduce Henry to Hoseok?
Most importantly, you don't want to give away the impression that you're dating Henry solely, to get over Hoseok. Because although it might have started that way, gradually you did find yourself developing a genuine interest in Henry.
You turn a bit to focus your attention on him and soften when you notice the concern in his eyes. He must have come looking for you, after noticing that you were taking so long.
"Henry, this is Hoseok and Jimin." You introduce him to your two friends. "And guys, this is Henry."
As Hoseok shakes hands with the said man, he can't help but take notice of the palm that still rests on your back. It somehow gives off the impression that there's more to the two of you than just friends. Don't ask him how he knows that, he just does. Maybe it's because he's a social butterfly and has interacted with way more people than he can count or maybe it's because he's a dancer and has a good read of people's body language.
"Hoseok is my dance trainer, that's how we became friends." You add hoping that that much information is enough and that you'd not have to elaborate on how you and Henry know each other.
"Ah right, babe! I remember you mentioning your dance classes." He then turns to Hoseok with a genuine smile on his face that shows that he's delighted to meet him and put a face to the name.
However, you wince internally at the use of the name. Shit, you think that the usage of that term is pretty self-explanatory and also, embarrassing. At least, in this context.
The word does not escape Hoseok's attention but he chooses to ignore it.
"Care to tell me what she says about my dance classes? I'm a sucker for authentic feedback," he jokes in hopes that he still has his bright smile on when in reality he feels confused and has no idea how to navigate this situation.
"All good things, I assure you," Henry says, with a small chuckle.
"And for Jimin, he is a friend of Hoseok's and that's how we became friends," you complete your introduction and pray to whatever higher power there is, to not make things any more awkward. Although, you're sure you're the only one who's feeling the awkwardness of the whole situation.
"Tsk tsk," Jimin tuts, pretending to be disappointed. "Tell him how you know us, but don't tell us how you met him. I see how it is."
Oblivious to your discomfort, Henry lets out a small laugh at your friend's teasing. "Let's just say we met by chance and clicked."
Jimin lets out a low whistle. "That tells me you two are not just friends."
At this, Henry's brow furrows a little in confusion. He thought these two were your friends. Do they not know that the two of you have been dating for some time?
He looks at you in concern when he realises that Hoseok and Jimin might not be a part of the friend group you are here with. That maybe, you meeting these two here was purely by chance and maybe he has run his mouth without checking whether you feel comfortable with them knowing or not.
His heart sinks when he realises that you have an expression of unease on your face which confirms his suspicions.
Not knowing what he can do to let you know that he's sorry, he settles for squeezing your hand. And it does give you enough comfort and courage to answer Jimin's question.
"I guess you can say so," you say with a shy chuckle. Because how else is someone supposed to respond to the question?
Jimin, thankfully looks elated at the revelation. "Damn, that's cool. I'm glad for the both of you."
Hoseok does not know what to say so he simply nods. Loads of questions and thoughts run through his head. One of the main things he finds himself wondering about is whether this Henry guy treats you right or not. However, he knows that he is not in a position to ask that.
So he watches. Watches and tries to decipher if this guy is any good for you. He is aware that it's quite wrong to judge the guy when he's meeting him for the first time but that awareness isn't enough to stop him.
Much to his delight (or dismay), this Henry guy does seem to be someone genuine. Which stirs another kind of discomfort in Hoseok's stomach. A feeling he realises, he can't quite describe and hence, chooses to ignore it.
"How long have you two been dating?" Jimin asks and a part of Hoseok mentally pats Jimin on the back for asking the question.
"How long have you two been dating?" Jimin asks and a part of Hoseok mentally pats Jimin on the back for asking the question.
"A few weeks," you take your ordered drink and take a sip. The lightly sweet taste greets your tongue and helps your jaw muscles relax.
Any further questions that Jimin might have, remain unasked as you notice your drunk friend wildly waving her hand in the air, towards your direction to get your attention. When she notices that she has your attention, she motions you to come to the dance floor all too excitedly.
You smile a little at your friend's antiques and make a note to thank her later for saving you from this situation. Lifting your arm a little, you wave back at her.
"Brie is calling us. We should get going." You inform the two guys in front of you. "See you later?"
Jimin and Hoseok both nod with smiles, not wanting to hold the two of you back any longer.
With a drink in one hand and Henry's hand in the other, the two of you bid your goodbyes.
Hoseok looks at your linked arms and there's a feeling he does not want to name. He tries to play it off by telling himself that it's just him being a protective friend. Nothing more, nothing less. Although, he does not know if his denial is because he isn't brave enough to face his emotions or because it is the only choice he is left with.
Whatever it might be, he hopes that alcohol would somehow manage to take these thoughts away from him and hopefully, he will forget all about this encounter when he wakes up tomorrow.

You're oddly surprised when a warm body doesn't collide with yours upon your arrival. Looking around the living room you find no trace of the man that regularly greets you with a wide bunny grin and warm bear hugs.
He must be asleep, you deduce and decide to head over to his room.
When you swing the door open, your previous thought is proved right when you notice him peacefully sleeping with blankets wrapped all around him.
You walk inside the room without making a sound and for a few moments, silently observe his features. He looks so cute and precious sleeping like this, without a worry about the world. You only wish to keep him this content as long as he will allow you to.
Without even realising what you're doing, your hand gently brushes a few strands of his hair from his face. However, when the body moves suddenly to cover their head with the blanket, you're taken by surprise and yelp, not having expected the sudden movement.
Is he not asleep?
"Jungkook?" You call his name out and recieve a grunt in response, confirming your suspicions. "Hey baby, are you not feeling well?"
Jungkook doesn't answer and only tightens the blanket around him, which makes you frown in concern.
"Baby, are you okay?" When he still refuses to answer, you shake his body softly urging him to respond.
Jungkook grunts once again to show his displeasure. "You do not have to worry about me. You can stay at office all you want."
Your hands pause when you register his words. So this is what it is about. He hasn't been asleep at all. If anything, he had probably made his way to bed when he had heard your foot steps approaching.
You snicker silently at the thought of him doing that to show his protest. Just when you think he cannot get any cuter.
"The very least you could do is to not laugh," Jungkook's muffled voice greets your ears, immediately halting your laughter.
Sometimes, you tend to forget that he's a hybrid which means he can hear even the slightest of sounds, your silent laughter not being an exception.
"I'm sorry," you apologise, genuinely feeling bad for laughing. "What can I do to earn your forgiveness?"
Jungkook remains quiet for a few moments and maybe you know him a little too well to know that he isn't actually mad, he never actually is, when it comes to you. He only ever decides to be a little bit dramatic when he feels like you haven't been giving him enough attention.
"Kookieee," whining his name you tickle him over the blankets. Despite the thick layer of protection, Jungkook squirms and soon scoots away from you.
You huff. "Fine, I will sit here as long as you don't talk to me."
Saying so you take a seat on the now empty side of bed.
A few moments later a pair of hands make their way out and he peeks at you with only his eyes and the messy mop of his curls visible.
"You can make up to me by getting under the blanket, right now," he grumbles cutely.
Fighting off the urge to smile, you remove your jacket and get rid of your belt to be more comfortable. Jungkook loosens the blanket enough so that you can get in and the moment you do, you're instantly pulled closer by a pair of limbs.
"Much better," he whispers, his nose skimming gently across your cheek.
You chuckle at his actions and wrap your arm around his torso. "I'm still in my work clothes."
Jungkook looks at you for a second before breaking into a wide grin, no longer pretending to be angry. "I couldn't care less about anything with you in my arms like this."
"Such a drama king you are," you mumble softly, placing a small kiss at the juncture of his neck.
"Sometimes you gotta be like that if the love of your life isn't giving you enough attention," whining cutely, he complains and places several kisses on any expanse of skin he has access to.
You giggle and squirm at the tickling sensation but it only causes Jungkook to hold you tighter.
"Stop squirming," he nibbles at your neck causing you to laugh even more.
"I can't help it, it tickles."
His actions slow down and he simply buries his face in the crook of your neck, "this feels nice."
"I know," you hum. "I'm sorry I have been busy lately and that we have barely got any time to spend."
You feel him softly smile against your skin. "It's okay. I missed you but now that you're here, it's all okay."
You're aware that Jungkook knows how heavy the workload has recently been. You're grateful that he understands and is always so willing to do whatever it is to make things easier for you. But you won't lie, sometimes you too wish you could work from home like Jungkook does and be in his presence more. Admittedly, these feelings only ever occur to you when your work simply doesn't allow you to make time for anyone or anything else, like the last few days.
"I missed you too," you mumble into his hair, the soft smell of his shampoo enveloping you in immense amounts of comfort.
"Lies," he scoffs. "If you had missed me, you'd have smothered me with kisses by now to express exactly how much you missed me."
You scoff right back at him. "You know you can just ask if you want me to kiss you."
"But where's the fun in that?"
"You're such a brat, you know?" Laughing in disbelief, you run your fingers through his hair.
"Yeah? Want me to teach a lesson or something?" His body shakes with waves of soft laughter and warm puffs of breath hit your skin.
"Maybe, I should," you say in a thoughtful manner, taking his words into consideration. "Maybe I won't kiss you, that should sure teach you a lesson."
Jungkook's laughter stops immediately and he looks up at you with offence written all over his face. "You do not mean that."
"Maybe I do," you shrug softly, trying to hold yourself back from smiling.
Jungkook levels his face with yours and looks at you as if he were a sad kicked puppy. "You really won't kiss me?"
"Nope," you pop the 'p' and watch in amusement as his face contorts into pure disbelief.
"Heyyyyyy," he whines and somehow you know this time he isn't being dramatic. He really doesn't like the idea of you not giving him kisses. "This is not fair."
"What isn't?"
"You not kissing me," he complains. "I was waiting the whole day for you to come back home and this is what I get? No kisses?"
You chew on your bottom lip to hold yourself back from kissing him right at that very moment. Jungkook is adorable, he always is. But there's nothing more tempting to you then when his plump lips protrude to form a pout.
"Baby, my sweet girl, darling of mine," he presses his lips against your cheek and gradually, almost as if magnetically he inches closer to your lips. Pressing a soft kiss at the corner of your mouth, he retreats. "Kiss me. Please."
You wanted to continue teasing him a little longer. But you should have known better. With Jungkook looking at you like that and with his lips hovering over yours, nothing in the world could stop you from closing the gap.
The moment your lips meet his, Jungkook sighs in relief. His lips mold against yours and he matches your pace with one of his hands now resting on your hips.
You place your palm on his face and your fingers gently rub across the skin of his cheek. Jungkook is gentle, soft, sweet and everything nice. You kiss him with a tenderness that is delicate yet one which sets his soul on fire. He isn't sure what is it that you do but everytime you kiss him, his soul feels a little more alive, he feels a little more like himself and he feels love in a way that makes him want to drown in it.
He spends most of his day in the apartment doing his work on his laptop. It's absurd but to him this place without your presence is just that to him, an apartment. It's only when you are with him, that it feels like home. You're home. You're his home.
"I love you," he whispers, a little breathless but not from the kissing, rather from the warmth that's flowing through his veins.
"I love you too, baby," you smile and place a small peck on his lips. "Now let me get changed and take a shower."
"Five more minutes," he says and doesn't give you the chance to protest for the next thing you know he's laying with his head on your chest, enjoying the soft thumping of your heartbeat.
You close your eyes and relax because when have you ever been able to say no to him.

They Reject You (hyung line)- part three
Pairing: BTS x Reader
Word Count: 8K
Warnings: swear words here and there, a little kissing scene.
Jin
"I told you, you should have done this sooner."
"Hey, if I had known this was gonna be this much fun, I would have."
"I did tell you, you just didn't believe me."
You huff. "Okay fine! You were right all along and I was wrong. Happy?"
Blair chugs down another shot and winces at the bitter taste. "I'll be happy when you listen to my advice."
"Asking for too much, now. Aren't you?"
"Cool then, mop over a boy for over a month again. Why don't you?" She retorts with no real bite, rather genuinely enjoying the glimpse of the old you back.
A wave of sadness hits you when you're reminded about the said boy and you sigh. "He isn't just a boy, he's also my best friend."
Blair immediately regrets her words when she notices the look on your face. "I understand that you would need time but if I hadn't dragged you out today, you would have not made any efforts to move on for at least another six months."
You feel an instant urge to deny it but end up not protesting because you know how true her words are.
Moving on would have been easier if you knew the answer to this one question; how does one move on from their best friend?
How do you forget the moments that made you fall for him? Moments when he was the only one you could confide in. When you two would spend hours talking on the phone about random things. When the two of you would sit on the balcony and judge every passerby. The inside jokes, the tears, the hugs, the words of comfort. How do you forget those and tell yourself to not feel the way you do?
And even if you manage to do so, will the two of you really ever get back to being as close as you once were? Won't that result in you falling for him all over again?
You take hold of another glass of shot when you realise that you were overthinking again. Today your plan is to get enough alcohol in your system so that you do not overthink the little things.
"What is he doing here?" Blair whispers to herself.
"Who?" Your tipsy mind gets distracted by that and you start checking left and right to catch sight of the person she's talking about.
"Jin."
Your eyes widen in shock and you freeze in your seat. "Jin is here?"
Blair nods, feeling the same amount of disbelief as you.
"Should I hide in the washroom?" You whisper shout. You don't even know why you feel the need to run when you and Jin have had a civil conversation just a few weeks ago. All you know is that you do not wish to face Jin. You are not ready to face the stir of emotions Jin would inevitably ignite.
"Fun fact, his eyes are fixed here," she quips with a mix of annoyance and amusement. "I'm also pretty sure, he's aware that we are talking about him."
You shut your eyes and groan audibly. "Fuck. Just what I needed."
"Fun fact part two, he's coming here."
As soon as she completes her sentence, you hear your name being called.
"Y/N."
"Jin!" You put on a fake smile and try to seem as excited as you possibly can. You won't allow your spirits to dwindle so easily. "What are you doing here?"
Jin thinks for a brief moment if he should lie and say that it was a coincidence but then decides otherwise. "Well, Jimin texted me that you're here and I had something important to tell you, so,"
"Well, I don't feel stalked at all." You grin sarcastically.
Jin smiles. That's the first stage of you getting drunk; getting sassy. "Well, I'd be hurt if you were to call me a creepy stalker."
He says it with such a soft look of adoration that Blair has to clear her throat loudly to announce her presence.
"I'm Blair," she introduces herself.
Jin understands that Blair's words are directed at him and he politely puts his hand forward in greeting. "I'm Jin."
Blair nods and shakes his hand. From the look in his eyes, she already has an idea about why Jin might be here and if what she's assuming is right, she should really get out of here as quickly as she can.
"Well, it's good that you are here, I have somewhere to go. Take care of her," as soon as the words are out of her mouth, Blair quickly leaves the spot knowing very well how you are going to react.
You gasp dramatically, concerned about how quickly she changed her colours. What a traitor you have as a friend.
Jin sits on the stool next to you before you can recover from your shock. "So what have you been drinking?"
You look at Jin with your mouth parted open, still having a hard time understanding what just happened in the span of a few minutes. How you came to the club to temporarily forget about Jin and how now, you are sitting right next to him.
You blink a few times to let the shock subside and with Blair gone, you feel your adrenaline rush fade away.
"I don't know, Blair ordered it," you shrug.
He hums, fiddling with his fingers on the table. "Any special reason you are out here clubbing on a weekday?"
"Nah," you say just as casually as you had uttered the previous sentence. Maybe it's because of the alcohol but you don't find yourself feeling anxious in his presence. There's only a very little amount of unease but that's only because you don't want to get too into your emotions.
Jin watches you closely. You don't look drunk, just tipsy. And thankfully, for him, you don't seem to be too bothered by the fact that he just invited himself.
Someone might say that he's being overdramatic coming all the way to say something he could have said any other time. But when Jimin texted him that you're here, his thoughts started getting a little wild.
What if you were in a club trying to get over him? What if some hot bartender catches your eye? What if your friends are telling you that you deserve better? (The last one, Jin agrees with)
It's fair to say that those thoughts made him rush to this place so that he can finally say what he figured out in the last few days.
Jin inhales deeply and asks the million-dollar question. "Do you– do you still love me?"
You choke on your drink and a series of coughs that follows. Jin immediately asks for a glass of water and helps you calm down.
"What kind of a question is that?" You ask in a raspy voice when your coughing fit subsides.
"A very important one?" He asks you back, his brows now furrowing in nervousness.
You mimic his expression, only that your brows furrow in annoyance. "What kind of people do you hang around with to get the idea that people's feelings change in the span of a few weeks?"
Ah, yes. You're sassy right now.
Jin's features soften and he looks at you with a look of disbelief.
"So you still love me?" He asks in a whisper, too scared to say the words out loud.
"Unfortunately, yes." You nod.
Before you can take hold of another glass of shot, Jin's hand comes to rest on yours. You look at him in confusion, wondering what even is he up to.
"Well, I love you too," a wide smile breaks out on his face as if the thought of you is enough to make him happy.
This time, you choke on thin air. "Excuse me?!"
He takes your hand and brings it to his lips. "I'm sorry it took me so long, but now that I know, I just want to be with you forever."
Your eyes follow his movements and you find your breathing getting shallower and only one question coming to your mind; Is this really happening?
Jin notices the way you seem to have run out of words. It makes him want to smirk in satisfaction but at the same time wrap you in his arms. Had he known you would react this way, he would have done this way sooner. But he was busy being a fool back then.
You were always by his side, through the worst and the best. You were his only constant in the world of variables. He always felt so at home with you, that the thought of changing the dynamics never occurred to him. You two were perfect being best friends and he thought that was how it was going to be forever.
But then he's also a hopeless romantic at heart. He has always dreamt of his perfect partner and what life with them will look like. He has also had his fair share of crushes and relationships but never did the faceless person from his dreams appear to be one of them.
Now that he thinks of it, he knows why that was the case.
"You don't have to say anything," Jin adds, not wanting you to stress about it. "I just needed you to know that I love you and I'm sorry for realising it so late."
Now as sassy as you are when you're tipsy, you're just as bold. Without thinking any further, you lean forward and kiss him. It's odd and something your sober self would never do, but right now you're definitely not sober. Plus, you can leave the overthinking for her when she wakes up tomorrow. At the moment, the only thing that matters to you is that the man you so irrevocably love, loves you back.
Jin freezes and his eyes widen in shock when he feels your lips on his.
He knows you are only doing this because you are drunk. He knows that had you been sober you would have asked a million questions by now. He also, knows that he shouldn't be kissing you back but when he hears a whine of complaint from you at his lack of enthusiasm, his resolve crumbles.
He gently puts his palms on your cheeks and kisses you back passionately. The warm sensation of your lips on his makes his head spin and he wonders how on earth has he gone so long without doing this.
However, he pulls back when he feels your tongue against his lips. "We should get you home."
You shake your head like a stubborn child. "No, I don't want to go."
Gosh, he wants to kiss that pout away. How did he not realise that it's been you all along?
Blair watches from a distance as you throw your hands in the air like a small child and a smile makes its way onto her lips. Guess, she won't have to worry about you moping anymore.
Yoongi
As soon as the doorbell rings, you freeze. That must be Yoongi.
You have been looking forward to this moment and at the same time have been dreading it. But it's one of those things that you know just needs to be done.
You haven't had a single moment of peace since yesterday. It's tiring honestly. You don't know how the conversation with Yoongi will go, but you at least hope that after this you won't feel this heavy weight on your shoulders and will be able to have a good night's sleep.
With that hope, you open the door and you're greeted by Yoongi in a purple suit and the sight itself makes you swallow. You really wish you could marry him.
Shaking the thought away, you welcome him in and ask him to take a seat on the couch.
"Would you like some tea or coffee?" You query
Yoongi shakes his head. "Nothing really. I had coffee before leaving."
Well then, guess you won't get the time to figure out how to start the conversation.
You take a seat on the opposite couch and play with the rings that adorn your fingers. "I called you at my place because there's something important we need to talk about and I thought that a public place isn't suitable for the conversation."
Yoongi nods. He won't lie but he shares the same view. It's difficult for him as it is to talk about his emotions. He doesn't want to imagine having to explain why he came across as nonchalant to your confession and how he respects your honesty, more than he could show.
However, nothing could have prepared him for the next words that leave your mouth.
"I think we should not go forward with this marriage."
Your words cause Yoongi to choke. Out of all the things he wanted to discuss with you, he never saw this coming. "What?!"
Seeing Yoongi react like this catches you slightly off guard. Usually, he always has his emotions in check and is unreadable. It always makes you feel like he's out of reach. However, right now, you can read him like a book, which oddly enough gives you a sense of satisfaction.
"We should not get married." You repeat your words and wait for Yoongi's shocked features to subside.
Yoongi looks at you and notices how determined you seem, as if you have thought about this long and hard and only then have you come to this decision. The thought that there's probably no changing your mind, scares him.
Clearing his throat, he tries to sound as calm as he can. "Why though?"
Now it's your turn to be surprised. Isn't it obvious why the two of you shouldn't get married?
Chewing on your lower lip, you ponder how you should frame your words. After a brief pause, you start with a gentle tone that somehow comes out sad.
"When two people love each other, they get married. Not because they have to, but because they want to. It's like this celebration of their love, where they declare to the world that they are each other's for the rest of eternity. But you see, that's the most important factor–" you look up to lock eyes with Yoongi. "–love."
Love.
It's a word Yoongi has hardly ever given thought to.
Yoongi knows what it feels like to be loved. His parents love him, his sister loves him, his friends love him, his dog loves him. He also knows what it is like to love someone because he loves these people just as much. But love in the way you describe it? Yoongi has never felt that.
From a very young age, he has known that it will be his parents who will choose who he is to marry. Which is why he has never felt or given much thought to what it is like to want to spend his whole life with someone.
But clearly, you have.
It looks like you know exactly what you want and he won't lie, he envies that. He wonders what it's like for someone to know what they want so clearly that they won't settle for anything less.
"We can always fall in love," he says with a small shrug as if it's not a big deal. The gesture makes his words look insincere and although it's true that he doesn't realise the intensity of his words, it's also true that he had shrugged simply to hide how uncomfortable he feels. He has never had to talk to someone about falling in love with them.
You chuckle humorlessly. "I don't think you realise what falling in love really means."
Yoongi wants to feel offended by your words but he can't. Because you're right. "Well, it's never too late to learn."
You can tell that Yoongi is being genuine. But you don't know how you should perceive his genuineness. Should you feel flattered that he's willing to give your marriage a try? Or should you feel sad that he has to try falling in love with someone?
You don't know what the answer to that would be but the thought of him falling for you because he had no other choice, does not sit right with you. Even if you two were happy one day, maybe somewhere at the corner of your mind will be the thought that he fell for you only because you two were forced into this marriage.
"I don't think it will work, Yoongi," you say with a sigh.
Yoongi's brow furrows in frustration. Why are you complicating things like this? "I don't understand what exactly is the problem?"
Here goes nothing.
"We have been on ten dates so far and on none of those occasions, did you ever seem interested in getting to know me on a deeper level. You are a closed book and I respect that it might not be easy for everyone to be open, but what counts is the effort. We have never had an open conversation or proper communication." Your voice comes out even, not a speck of anger or disappointment lacing your words. It sounds like you're only reading out observations from a science experiment. "Why do you think that is? If you were to ask me, and I might be wrong, but it's because you were never interested in the prospect of marrying."
"Had I not asked to break the marriage, things would have been pretty much the same and I would have never voiced these thoughts. You would have made no effort and I would have been trying way too hard to fulfil my wishes. Don't you see how wrong that could go?"
Yoongi remains speechless with his mouth parted.
"It's not only that, though," a small smile appears on your lips. "When you believe in love as much as I do, you'd know that love is inevitable. Everyone deserves it, including you. And I hope that when you do fall in love, you get to walk with them with your head held high without worrying about the wife you had to marry to boost your business."
With each word that comes out of your mouth, you feel a weight being lifted off of your chest one by one. Last night, you stayed up with countless thoughts running through your head. Countless reasons and scenarios why this marriage won't work and would be painful for both of you. Especially you.
Yoongi takes a deep inhale and lets the silence linger.
What else is even there to say? You have given this a whole lot of thinking while he has hardly ever thought about it. Which only goes on to prove your point and how different both of your views on marriage are.
Indeed, he has never shown much effort towards establishing a connection between the both of you. There's no denying that, but he wishes he could tell you that it's not because he wasn't interested in forming one but rather that he does not know how to.
He knows there's no point in clarifying that now though, it will only sound like he's making excuses. Hence, he settles for responding to you with the only sentence that he thinks is relevant.
"We can't break this alliance."
"I know," you nod. "It won't be easy but I'm sure we both will come up with a way to convince our parents."
Yoongi huffs, sensing that you are underestimating his words. "Do you know that the deal has been signed?"
Your eyes widen in shock and disbelief. "What?! H–When?"
Your reaction is enough for Yoongi to know that you indeed, had no idea about the papers being finalised and signed. Your previous words make much sense to Yoongi now and why you thought that the two of you even had any other option but to get married to each other.
"About a week ago," he replies, expression now turning sombre. "I got to know about it only a couple of days ago."
A week ago? That would be around the time you and Yoongi went on your last date where you had confessed to him your feelings. Was it around the same time that both of your doors to escape were closed?
Panic shoots through your veins when the thought that there might be no way out, comes to your mind. No, no, no. There has to be some way.
But is there really?
Yoongi's company is way bigger than your father's. If the two of you back down now, the deal will be cancelled but it will be your father's company that will suffer the most whereas Yoongi's will recover in a few days. It was one thing if the deal was not signed. No gains, no losses. But now, it would be no gain, only losses.
How can you do that to your parents knowing how much stress it will cause them?
You can't.
"I don't have any other choice, do I?" Your voice comes out small, highly in contrast with how confidently you were speaking a few minutes ago.
"I don't think we do," Yoongi sighs, a deep sadness looming over his chest at how dejected you look. "But if it makes you feel any better, we can make a deal."
An abrupt chuckle escapes your lips. "Another deal? Haven't we already had enough?"
"This deal gives you the choice to be free," he comments, noticing how a small hopeful glint appears in your eyes.
"How?"
"Let's stay married for a year, if you still want an out after that, we will get divorced."
Yoongi's words give you a pause.
You can't say that the deal is ideal but it is better than nothing. It gives you the hope that the two of you won't be stuck in a loveless marriage. It also does not create the pressure of being happy with each other because that's the only option.
After thinking for a few moments, you realise that this indeed is what it has all come down to and you'll have to accept it whether you like it or not.
"What about the business deal?" You query, your brain jumping to the concerns of the after-effects of having a divorce.
"By that time, the majority of shares will be transferred to me, I'll take care of it so that there is minimal loss."
You nod and sit back, feeling exhausted from the emotional rollercoaster this conversation has been. You just wish things were simple. That you both could get married to people you were in love with. Or that you both were in love with each other.
The thought makes you look at Yoongi. You can still feel the butterflies in your stomach but there's also this dread that tags along.
Last night, you had considered every possible scenario, and each one of them convinced you why this marriage is not a good idea. But out of all those, there was one which stood out, one that scared you the most and was the most heartbreaking.
The possibility of you falling in love with Yoongi but his response being the same as it was on your last date. You know that the pain you went through this time, would be nothing compared to the pain you would experience then.
You don't want that.
The thought scares you so much, that you make a promise to yourself to not let your guard down so that the situation never occurs.
Hoseok
"You went a little too hard on us today," you say, breathless as you take a bottle of water and uncap it.
Hoseok chuckles. "You say that after every class."
"Do I?" You ask with a small smile, knowing very well that you indeed do. But can you be blamed when Hoseok loses track of time when it comes to dancing and the only thing he focuses on is perfection?
He raises a brow as if asking you to stop pretending and you raise your arms in the air in mock surrender.
He chuckles and shakes his head in amusement. "That's what I thought."
"Oh by the way," you say all excited. "I binge-watched little women during the weekend."
Hoseok's grin widens at the thought that you took the time to watch his recommended show. "Did you enjoy it?"
A thoughtful look appears on your face. "I think it would have been better if the girls had more wins throughout but then I guess it wouldn't have been realistic."
Hoseok hums, understanding where you're coming from. That's an emotion he shares as well. While watching the show, he too wished that the girls didn't have to go through so many ups and downs.
"But you know what I liked?" You say with sparkling eyes.
"What?" Hoseok asks, the gleam in your eyes doing something to his heart.
"Choi Do-il's character!" You say with a small smirk on your lips.
Hoseok finds your behaviour amusing. "Liked him huh?"
"How can I not? He's so cool! He was so loyal to In-joo and he has such a sharp mind, made such tough decisions on the spot." You blabber. "I wish there was someone like him in real life, I'd fall for him in the blink of an eye."
"I wonder what Henry would have to say about that," he replies in a teasing tone, trying to pull your leg. But his smile fades when he sees that your excited expression has now turned sombre.
You shake your head with a soft smile. "Well, we have broken up, so I don't think he would have anything in particular to say."
Hoseok hates that his first reaction is that of joy, which is soon followed by a feeling of guilt. He had convinced himself that he wasn't waiting for this particular day but now, his reaction clearly proves otherwise.
For the time being, he puts his emotions aside and puts your feelings first.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
You sigh. "There isn't anything to talk about. The relationship had run its course."
And that's the truth.
Things were pretty smooth at first, but when the honeymoon phase faded, somewhere down the line, both of you realised that you two weren't right for each other.
The breakup wasn't painful for either of you and maybe that's what acceptance is supposed to be like. It was coming to this understanding that the both of you make great friends but there isn't much hope when it comes to something more than that.
Hoseok chews on his lower lip and wonders what's the right thing to say.
It has been six months since that day in the club and five months and three weeks since he realised that his feelings for you run deeper than he had initially thought.
The first three weeks that followed after his realisation was not easy for him at all. He tried his best to be in denial but with time, he couldn't deny it anymore and he felt anger. Anger towards himself for having the audacity to accept that he has any form of romantic feelings for you after you had been so brave about yours and had put your heart on a plate only for him to be a complete dumb wit. Which was soon followed by the feeling of loss. He lost the opportunity when he had it and won't probably ever get it again.
But after that, it started getting better.
He accepted the fact that you have moved on with someone else and are happy with them. But that doesn't mean he did not get jealous every once in a while when he stumbled upon a picture of you and Henry on Instagram. That little spark of jealousy would serve as the reminder that somewhere deep down, he still wishes for you to be his.
There have been times when he had thought about what he would do if someday, years later you and Henry were to break up. But never did he prepare himself for it. Plus, now, he finds it ridiculous that he had always thought that this would be an opportunity for him to correct his mistake when you could have very well removed any feelings for him from the very root.
Before he can figure it out though, you sense the awkward silence and make an effort to break it. "I'm over it though, it does not bother me."
Hoseok nods softly, his thoughts still muddled. "How long has it been?"
"About a month."
Hoseok observes you closely from his peripheral. He notices how relaxed your features are and concludes that the topic of your breakup isn't necessarily a painful one for you. You also seem, pretty okay with the idea of the two of you having broken up, which makes him hope that you have moved on from Henry. And if in case you haven't, he will wait as long as it takes for you to let someone new in and he will do everything he possibly can to be that someone.
"This might be inappropriate but are you planning to return to the dating world?" Hoseok tries to look as casual as he can by pretending to arrange the CDs on the shelf.
It takes a few moments for you to think about the question before you can come up with an answer.
Are you looking for someone you can date? Not really.
When you had downloaded Tinder all those months ago, it was simply so that you can find a distraction from Hoseok and move on. Fortunately, you found that and more in Henry. But now, that chapter is over and you don't find yourself actively looking for someone to be with.
"Not at the moment, no," you reply honestly. "Maybe a few months later, I'll reinstall Tinder," you laugh at the thought.
Hoseok hums, with his back facing you. "When you decide to reinstall the app, do tell me."
You don't think much of his words and innocently ask, "Why?"
The whole of Hoseok's body heats up in anxiety and he starts putting the CDs on the shelf at a much high speed. "Because then I'll install tinder too and will search you up."
Your frown morphs into an expression of surprise and your lips part to form a small 'o'.
Is…..is Hoseok saying what you think he's saying? Is it his way of saying that he would like to take you out on a date? And say, if the answer to these questions is, yes, what will you do?
In the six months that you have been with Henry, you haven't thought of Hoseok in that way. The intensity of your feelings lessened and you could let yourself be friends with him without letting your feelings get in the way.
But are your feelings for him gone?
You don't know.
Hoseok is a great friend of yours. He is nice, charming, kind, helpful and talented. Not to mention that he is utterly gorgeous. Anyone would be lucky to have him as their partner. But do you still want him as one?
You look at Hoseok and realise that the thought of being with him doesn't feel weird. If anything, it causes a little bit of excitement to stir up in your stomach.
It's true that your crush on him is not as deep as it once was and you're not looking for a relationship at the moment, but for some reason, you feel like when you're ready, you may just fall for him harder than you have ever before.
Clearing your throat, you come up with a response that you think is just right. "In that case, I'll have to make sure that I don't forget to tell you about it."
Hoseok turns around immediately to look at you with a surprised look as if that was the last thing he had expected you to say. But when that surprised look turns into that of relief, your previous questions about Hoseok's intent are answered.
A smile appears on his lips when his surprise fades and he makes a promise to himself to not waste the chance you have been kind enough to give him again. "I'll eagerly wait for that day"
Something in your heart blooms at the soft look he gives you and you nod.
After that, both of your chit-chat resumes and you two giggle and laugh like never before while you pack your stuff. Once you're done, you get ready to leave. "I'll get going then?"
With a gleeful smile, Hoseok responds, "see you next Saturday."
As you're walking out of the door, a thought appears to you. "Oh, also, you can't search for people on Tinder."
And then you're gone.
Hoseok watches your retreating figure and he has to try really hard to stop smiling like a fool.
Maybe there will be no need for Tinder after all.
Namjoon
"I love Y/N," as soon as the words are out of his mouth, he winces, anticipating and dreading Yoongi's reaction.
Yoongi, on the other hand, merely blinks at Namjoon's words. ".....and?"
Out of all the reactions, Namjoon thought Yoongi would give, this was not one of them. This makes things way scarier for him because he thinks this is Yoongi's version of 'calm before the storm'.
"Listen, you can be mad at me all you want. I understand but I just wanted to let you know." Namjoon rambles, his voice coming out high-pitched.
A small frown appears on Yoongi's face. This is it, Namjoon thinks.
"Why do you assume that I'm mad?" Yoongi's question, however, leaves Namjoon perplexed. He searches for any form of pretence on Yoongi's features but when he doesn't find any, he sighs.
"I don't know–" Yoongi's frown deepening is enough for Namjoon to backtrack and start speaking the truth. "–you told me that if I were to ever try to show interest in your sister, our friendship would be over."
"I mean, I don't recall saying that but it does sound like something I'd say," Yoongi nods.
Now it's Namjoon's turn to frown. Is Yoongi mad or not? "What am I supposed to make of it?"
"Nothing," Yoongi shrugs. "I should rather ask you, what was your purpose in telling me that you have feelings for Y/N? Was it because you felt like you had to ask for my permission? Or were you scared that it would affect our friendship?" A chuckle escapes Yoongi's lips.
Namjoom sighs, feeling his muscles relax as he finally lets himself realise that Yoongi isn't mad. "I think it's more of the latter."
"So you won't ask for my permission, before pursuing her?" A scowl appears on Yoongi's face which immediately makes Namjoon stutter.
"I–I–I didn't mean that. Of course, I would ask for your permission."
Yoongi tries his hardest to hold back the satisfied smirk that tries to make an appearance. It's nice to see Namjoon being scared of him every once in a while.
"That's better," Yoongi hums. "And you don't have to worry about ruining our friendship and all that shit. That's very high school."
Namjoon feels like he can breathe again. After weeks, it feels like he can finally be honest with himself and most importantly with you, without being scared. A wide dimpled smile appears on his face at the thought of finally confessing to you.
"Gosh, that's annoying," Yoongi huffs, with no real annoyance in his tone. If anything, he's glad to see the wide grin on his friend's face. "If she does reciprocate your feelings and the two of you become a couple, I do hope that the two of you don't turn out to be one of those intolerable ones."
You find almost everything intolerable. That's the thought that comes to Namjoon's mind but before he can speak those words, a much scary thought appears to him which takes his breath away.
"What if Y/N does not accept my feelings?" His voice comes out in a whisper, too scared to speak those words loudly.
Yoongi thinks the chances of that happening are very low. But he chooses not to say it. It's your feelings, you're the only one who knows where they lie. Yoongi does not wish to assume. Instead, he chooses to assure his friend that even if he were to get turned down, he will be there for him.
"I will order a bottle of champagne and soju, each. If things work out, then we will celebrate with champagne. If they don't, then we can have soju."
Namjoon is grateful for Yoongi's words, he really is but the fear that courses through his veins makes it impossible for him to think straight. "You don't get it. She confessed to me and I turned her down."
This time, a genuine scowl appears on Yoongi's face. "Why would you do that?"
Namjoon lets out a heavy breath. "I thought you'd be mad and our friendship would get ruined."
Yoongi tries his hardest not to let his eyes roll but ultimately fails. "Now I remember why I had told you not to pursue my sister."
Namjoon's heart drops at the comment. Is Yoongi about to change his mind?
"One because it was high school and you were going through your fuckboy stage," Yoongi says, with squinted eyes that make it obvious that he's judging Namjoon. "Second, you were dense as fuck at times. Which, clearly, hasn't changed even now."
That had been two days ago.
After the very scary chat session with Yoongi, Namjooon needed some time to recover. Two days to be exact. Now he has finally managed to grab the courage to talk to you and be honest.
His hands hover in the air for a few moments before he knocks. He hopes and wants this to go well, otherwise, he thinks, he won't be able to forgive himself.
You frown when you hear the knock. Who has decided to bother you on a fine Sunday?
You set aside the book you were reading and begrudgingly get up. With heavy steps, you head towards the door and swing it open. The regret that hits you is instantaneous. You should have checked through the peephole before opening.
Namjoon notices your features drop and it makes him feel terribly guilty for his actions and words. With that guilt, also comes the strong need to make things right.
"Do you need something?" You keep your tone cold to avoid any display of emotion. It's not that you are mad at him for the rejection. You're hurt about it, sure. Mad? No.
However, you feel incredibly embarrassed about confessing the way you did. You are aware that you were under the influence of alcohol but that doesn't make it any less humiliating.
"I need to talk to you," Namjoon replies shakily as he finds his anxiety increasing. What if you have decided to move on or have come to the conclusion that he isn't worth it?
You'd really like to make an excuse as to why you wouldn't be able to talk right now but something in you makes you decide otherwise. Maybe it's because you don't want things to be awkward between the two of you as it would put Yoongi in a tough spot. Or maybe it's because you hate seeing Namjoon so anxious, that you find yourself moving out of his way.
"Can I take a seat?" He asks awkwardly, with his index finger pointing at the couch, when he realises that you are simply waiting for him to start talking about whatever it is that he is here for.
You are aware that you are being rude but you honestly don't know how to behave 'normally' around him, anymore. So, you simply hum and wait for him to take a seat.
"Uhm," he clears his throat, "I wanted to talk to you about what happened at the party."
"We can talk about anything but that," you say pointedly. There's no way you are going to talk about that night when all you want is to leave that memory somewhere far behind.
Namjoon notices the discomfort that etches your features despite your attempts at hiding it and sighs. "Okay, then I won't bring that up but I need to tell you something."
"Go on."
Namjoon takes in a deep breath before closing his eyes to grab the courage to let the words spill out. "I'm in love with you."
At first, the words don't sink in.
You stand there, leaning against the wall, watching Namjoon. However, when you see the scared and anxious look on his face, you replay his words in your mind.
I'm in love with you.
He's in love with you.
The thought makes you angry.
You scoff. "Do you expect me to take you seriously?"
Namjoon shakes his head. "I don't expect you to but just hear me out."
"I don't want to." You declare stubbornly.
"I know but give me just one chance to explain myself." He pleads gently, not wanting you to feel as if you have to hear him out. He has already caused you enough pain and if you choose that you do not wish to hear him out, he is going to respect that.
You want to laugh at Namjoon's request. You can accept the fact that he does not have feelings for you, no matter how hard that might be. But accepting that he is in love with you after the pain that you have been through? You can't accept that.
You'd very much like to close this topic and never have either of you mention it. But you can't say no to Namjoon when he looks like that. He is one of your biggest weaknesses and not hearing him out would cause you pain as well.
Instead of telling him verbally that you will hear him out, you look out of the window and stare outside blankly, which is enough for Namjoon to know that you're listening.
"I never thought that my feelings would be reciprocated. Which is why, I did not know what to say and said what I thought was right, at the time," his voice comes out vulnerable.
You feel your annoyance flaring. If that really were the case he could have just said the truth. Why lie? Whose first instinct is to lie about their feelings, upon realising that they are not one sided?
Namjoon's next words answer your unasked question. "After my last two relationships ended the way, they did, I thought that all my relationships were destined to be doomed. I was scared to commit to anyone, especially you."
He sighs. "If we were to date and break up, it would change everything not only for the both of us but also for Yoongi. And if that were to happen I'd never be able to forgive myself."
It was around the time that Namjoon mentioned his last two relationships, that you stopped pretending to not care about what he had to say. You know how sensitive the topic is for him and for him to bring it up now, it must be serious.
To put it simply, his last two relationships ended terribly. But each time, Namjoon blamed himself and thought that it was entirely his fault, which you know isn't the case.
Now that Namjoon breaks it down to you, you find your anger fading and find yourself sympathising with him. You may not agree with his actions but you can understand where he was coming from.
What you don't understand, however, is why he is telling you these things. If you're understanding him right, he said what he said at the party because he was scared. But now, he is here, telling you that he loves you. But why?
"Why are you telling me this?" You ask and you are surprised by the lack of coldness in your voice. Maybe it's because he's being vulnerable with you that gives you the courage to put your embarrassment aside for the time being.
Namjoon smiles softly. "I had a chat with Yoongi and it made me realise that I am the only one who thinks this way."
He was indeed scared shitless of his feelings affecting the friendship between him and Yoongi. He had taken Yoongi's cautionary way too seriously and while he was under that impression, what scared him even more was that he would take the risk of being with you only to later wish that he had stayed in his lane. He thought that maybe Yoongi too shares the same viewpoint as he does and hence had asked him to stay from you.
When he had gathered the courage to talk about it to Yoongi, it was with the intention of getting Yoongi's approval. Namjoon already knew that he wasn't going to listen to the voice in his head and that you were worth the risk.
However, when Namjoon went back to his dorms and thought about the conversation he had with Yoongi, it made him realise that he was the only one who was holding these beliefs. Not only that, but Yoongi's reaction made him believe in himself, because even if Yoongi won't ever say it out loud, his calm and nonchalant behaviour was him letting Namjoon know that he trusts him.
"Plus," Namjoon continues, "I know I would regret it forever if I were to let you go simply because I was scared."
You swallow at his words as any remaining trace of anger is washed away from your body.
You know it can't be easy to do something when your insecurities are constantly telling you to do otherwise. But him doing just that, serves as a testimony of his love for you. Hence, even though at the beginning you weren't willing to accept his declaration of love, now you find your heart melting.
"So," you fiddle with your fingers. "What does all this mean?"
"Well if you have forgiven me for my stupidity, I'd like to take you out on a date." Namjoon hopes it isn't too soon to ask you out. But more than anything else, he wishes for your forgiveness.
His words make your chest hurt and you immediately rush to make things clear. "There's nothing to be forgiven, I never held a grudge against you."
"But you wouldn't even look at me?" He asks, with a pained look.
Your heart sinks further. You had thought that it was only painful for you clearly that wasn't the case. "That's because I was embarrassed. It's just incredibly stupid to get drunk because you saw the man you love kissing someone else and then going and confessing like that."
Aaaahhhh.
Right, that whole him making out with someone, thing. He now remembers you mentioning it at the party.
"Sorry to break it to you, but I did not kiss anyone," a small amused smile plays on his lips. "I was only helping the girl to get rid of something that had gotten into her eyes."
Your eyes widen when you hear that. Gosh, could you be any more stupid? You close your eyes tightly and groan in annoyance.
Namjoon gets up from the couch and slowly walks towards you. He understands why it might have looked like he was making out with someone, after all, parties have the worst lighting. But he doesn't want you to feel embarrassed about it. After all, if it hadn't been for that misunderstanding, you would have never confessed and neither would he.
After a small moment of hesitation, he puts his palm on your cheek and urges you to open your eyes.
"Hey," he whispers. "I'm really glad you misunderstood things that day. But I can assure you, that yours are the only lips I would ever want to kiss."
His words make you gulp. Here you were drowning in embarrassment a few moments ago and here you are now, breathless from the close proximity.
"Prove it," you whisper back.
Namjoon's eyes fall on your lips. As much as he would like to feel how soft your lips are, he wants to do things right.
With great willpower, he brings his eyes back to yours and kisses you on the forehead. "Trust me, there's nothing more I want than kissing you right now. But I want to take you out on a date first."
You chuckle at his words. "Well then, take me out on a date and at the end of it, kiss me like you mean it."
Namjoon's heart does a little dance at your words and he already feels his mind coming up with ideas of how he can make the date one that you never forget. "I'll make the date as perfect as you are."
Maybe you two will indeed be like one of those couples, Yoongi finds intolerable.
A/N: I definitely plan to write a Ceo Yoongi series with these two, hence that's how I decided to write them for this part!

Enchanted
Pairing: Taehyung x Reader
Au: Strangers to lovers (sort of)
Genre: Fluff.
Word count: 4.6K
Summary: Let's just say it's based on enchanted by ts.
A/N: this was requested a long time ago but then it stayed in my drafts and never saw light of the day. Until now, ofc.
As an event manager, you've had to plan for a variety of occasions. From birthday parties for kids to promotional events for companies, all sorts of events. But never have you arranged for something this big.
It isn't a special occasion, but rather a party for and of the wealthy people.
You weren't expecting to get such a huge project any time soon, considering it's only recently that you've joined this line of business. Thus, when your assistant informed you about this particular client, you started laughing and even complimented him saying "good one." Your laughter, however, died when your assistant opened the mail and you simply gaped at it like a fool.
You were to arrange a party in one of the most prestigious halls in the city. Not only that, the money that you were offered had your head spinning in disbelief.
Needless to say, you'd have been a fool to not take up the project.
And so you did, you took the project, worked your ass off for it and now you find yourself in front of the hall, the party has been arranged in.
You knew you were going to be here, but you thought you'd be here as the event organiser and that you'd be behind the scenes, just in case any problem arises. You weren't expecting your client to put your name on the guest list and then formally invite you as a guest.
When you received the card in your mail, your first reaction was that of disbelief. You knew that there will be many-list celebrities here, and for you to spend a night amongst them, is something that made you feel jittery yet excited.
Your second reaction was that of panic. What are you going to wear? Do you even have proper clothes for the party? Even if you do, do you have matching heels with that?
After much searching in your closet, you settled for the red gown that now adorns your body with silver heels and matching earrings. It took you a fair amount of overthinking but you finally were able to make a decision and stick with it.
Right now, you just hope you are looking good enough to be a part of the crowd inside.
You take a deep breath and head towards the entrance. The guards open the gigantic doors for you with a smile, which you return albeit nervously.
However, once you're past the entrance the sight that greets you has your heart beating a little faster.
The halls look stunning. Royal, even. There's just something so classy and elegant about everything around you, that it's quite simply indescribable through words.
Yesterday, you had come here to survey everything for one last time but now that it's filled with people it somehow looks even more beautiful. Although you're the one who is behind all the arrangements, you somehow can't believe that it turned out this great.
Your eyes then drift from the decorations to the people around you. You watch from a distance as people chat with each other, suddenly feeling too nervous to walk any further when you spot some familiar faces you've seen on the television.
To dissolve the bubble of insecurity that is floating in your stomach, you eye the drink counter. When your eyes move back to the crowd, you know there's no way you'll be able to enjoy yourself without some liquid courage.
Hence, without further ado, you walk straight towards the bar.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Three-four shots and half an hour later, you find yourself sitting around a table with a businessman, his wife, a well-renowned music producer and a news show host. Weird mix but somehow the conversation keeps flowing effortlessly.
They make sure to include you as well. Asking you questions about yourself and your job. Despite that, you feel like the odd one out. You can't relate to more than half of the things that's been spoken.
You simply feel out of place.
Putting up smiles, you try not to show your discomfort.
Adjusting to new people and making conversations with them, is a must for running a business. That way you have a better chance of landing yourself a deal. You have been trying to do the same here but somehow the introvert in you has decided to make an appearance today, making it a tad bit more difficult than it usually is.
"Miss Y/L/N," A voice startles you. "Can I please talk to you for a minute?"
"Mr. Henry," you greet your client and politely excuse yourself before leaving your seat to talk to him. "Is something wrong?"
"No, not at all. Everything is perfectly fine." He quickly reassures you with a smile. "I just wanted to inform you that a friend of mine asked for your contact information. They have an upcoming event and want you to organise it. I hope it's okay with you that I have given him your card."
"That's absolutely fine." You respond with a controlled smile, in an attempt to hide the fact that you feel like a giggly child. "I hope you liked the decorations and all the other arrangements."
"I absolutely love it. I know who to go to from now on for every event."
His words make you grin wider.
Mr. Henry is a man in his mid-sixties and from all the times that you have conversed with him, he has been extremely patient and kind, compared to a majority of your clients. He's rich and a well-known person in the business world but somehow he has managed to stay grounded and humble. Which admittedly, is very rare to find.
You both chat for a little while until he excuses himself to welcome a guest.
Now left alone, in the middle of the hall you take a subtle glance at the table you were sitting at, a few minutes ago. Now that Mr. Henry has possibly landed you with another project, you find yourself not wanting to go back to the table anytime soon. Not that the crowd you were chatting with were anything like the obnoxious rich people you'd expect to meet at these kinds of events but still you just don't feel like it. It's not your crowd, as some might say.
Deciding to get yourself another drink, you head towards the bar and on your way, bump into someone.
"I'm so sorry." You exclaim, your eyes automatically checking their suit just in case they were carrying some drink and you made them spill it on them. Isn't that what nightmares are made of? Spilling a drink on some random rich dude and spoiling their suit?
"It's okay." A deep husky voice speaks, causing your wandering eyes to freeze.
His voice is kind of attractive.
When your eyes move up to look at the man, your breath hitches. He is simply the most gorgeous man you've ever seen. Not finding it in yourself to form a coherent sentence you simply nod.
Gosh, what's wrong with you, have you not seen handsome men before?
Trying but failing to say something suitable, anything to perhaps be in his presence for a little longer, you decide the smart choice is to just leave. Because anything is better than looking like a fool who doesn't know how to speak.
Awkwardly shaking your head, you clear your throat and flee from the spot.
As soon as you have reached the bar, you order a drink and sigh. That was embarrassing.
But that doesn't mean your eyes don't try to sneakily catch a glimpse of the man. When you have calmed your racing heart, your eyes scan for him. Your gaze moves across the hall and a part of you wants to make sure that you really did see someone that gorgeous.
When you do spot him, he's conversing with a couple in their mid-forties. He smiles big as he chats with them and although you don't have the full view of his face, you can tell his smile is just as beautiful as he is.
Your eyes then slowly move and take notice of the suit he's wearing. It's probably silly but when you were looking for any possible stains that you might have caused, your mind was too focused on stains to notice his suit. But now that you do, you realise even his suit stands out. It's forest green in colour with floral prints. Not to be that person, but not everyone can look that stunning in a floral suit. But he undoubtedly looks spectacular in it.
You watch as he starts explaining something. From his ministrations, you assume he's probably talking about the event. At some point, his eyes, along with the couple's, start looking for something in particular and it's then that his eyes suddenly meet yours causing yours to widen in horror before you look away.
So subtle of you.
Fuck, had you not embarrassed yourself enough? Why did you have to stare at him like a weirdo? You bet he thinks of you as a creepy human being with the way you were watching him, as if you were in a trance. As if this is the first time you are seeing someone as gorgeous as him.
Cursing yourself, you order another drink in hopes of swallowing down the embarrassment and forgetting this whole ordeal.
All your hopes, however, go down the drain when moments later you hear the same deep, husky voice right next to you.
"I'll have what she is having."
Fuck. You didn't think he would just walk up to you. You try and look anywhere but in his direction.
"What's the name of the drink, by the way?" He queries and it takes you a few seconds to realise that he is asking you and not the bartender.
Unable to avoid him anymore, you acknowledge his presence. "Screwdriver."
The smallest of frowns appears on his face. "The drink is called screwdriver?" Seeing you nod, his interest piques. "I haven't heard of it before."
"It's very common." You swirl your straw, pretending to be interested in the way the liquid moves in a whirling motion, in an attempt to pretend that you aren't affected by his gaze.
"I'm not very fond of alcohol," he shrugs, finally removing his gaze from you to receive the drink. You watch from your peripheral as he takes a sip and you find yourself anticipating what his reaction might be. For some reason, you want him to like it.
He hums after gulping down the liquid. "It's sweet."
"Good sweet or bad sweet?" You query, somehow grabbing the courage to look at him.
"Considering that I like sweet drinks, I'd say good sweet."
His words surprise you. For whatever reason, you assumed he would be the kind to like strong drinks, the kind that causes you to scrunch your nose with each sip. Nevertheless, a part of you feels delighted to know that he likes your choice.
"Sweet drinks are underrated," you comment. Although you can still taste the embarrassment on your tongue, you feel slightly at ease around him than you were moments ago. If he's willing to chat with you, why shouldn't you just go with it?
"They are," his eyes brighten up hearing your words, feeling excited that someone shares the same unpopular opinion as him.
You chuckle at the absurd topic of conversation but nod.
He clears his throat and takes another sip. "So, what brings you here?"
"I am actually the event planner."
His eyes flash with understanding. "The event has been organised pretty well, I must say."
"Do you like it?"
He hums. "Yes, it has got an aesthetic vibe, plus the decorations have a classy yet cool touch to it."
Amused at his response, you smile. "I wasn't expecting to hear those two words in the same sentence."
"Cool and classy?" He raises a brow and looks at you for clarification.
When you nod in reply to his question, he hums.
"I think, everything that's classy should have a bit of coolness to it and everything cool should have a bit of classiness to it," he explains why he chose those two particular words to compliment your work. "That adds to the balance, you know? And you did an excellent job at it."
You shoot him a smile that shows that you're thankful for his kind words but at the same time entertained by his line of thinking. "Never wondered about the balance between cool and classy, but thank you!"
He rests his glass on the table and looks at you as if he knows you're not getting the point he's trying to make.
"I'll give you another example," he begins with a concentrated frown. "If the royals from ancient times had a bit of coolness to them, they probably wouldn't have a stick up their asses."
You snort in a very unladylike manner, causing the liquid to enter the wrong pipe and you break into a fit of coughs.
"Are you okay?" He queries, a concerned and regretful look appearing on his face.
You wave his concern off with a motion of your hand and try to slow down your breathing to get rid of the coughs. After a minute or so when you finally get rid of the irritation in your windpipe, you chuckle. This time, thankfully without the liquid in your mouth. "Why would you put it that way?"
Seeing that you are fine, his features relax before the question registers in his mind causing a smirk to appear on his face. "As someone who comes from a royal family, I always have this urge to make fun of them."
That catches you off guard. The majority of people in attendance are indeed important in one way or another but you could have never guessed that the man you're talking to comes from a royal family. "You belong to a royal family?"
He nods, his smirk morphing into a smile. A sweet one, if you may add. And it might just be sweeter than the drink you hold in your hand.
"That explains a lot," you mumble to yourself.
"Huh?" He queries, unable to catch your words.
You shake your head realising you spoke the words out loud. You do not need to embarrass yourself any further, Y/N. "Nothing. So is that what brings you here?"
His smug smirk disappears and he looks at you with surprised eyes as if to make sure that you are not joking. Noticing that you are not and that you are being hundred per cent serious, he smiles cheekily. "Well, let that be a secret."
"Hey!" You say in a tone that clearly shows displeasure. "This is not fair, I told you who I am and what I do for a living and all that shit."
He chuckles, amused by how you actually look like someone has offended you. "Well, it's not like we had a deal."
You scoff. "Is this how the royals are?"
He laughs with his head thrown back and you relish at the sight. He's so fucking pretty. "Maybe it's just nothing worth mentioning and that's why I am avoiding telling you what I do for a living. Otherwise, this whole charming facade of mine would completely get ruined."
Squinting your eyes, you suppress a smile. "Who said you are charming?"
"Hmm," he hums and pauses for a few minutes as if thinking. "I don't know, maybe those red-tinted cheeks of yours?"
Well, shit.
The smile you were trying to hold back disappears at the speed of light and your cheeks get a shade darker. You would have felt even more flustered had it not been for the soft chuckle he lets out.
You try to come up with something witty, anything that makes up for how shy you are feeling. But the sudden change in music catches your attention and the only thing you end up saying is oh they changed the song, pretending to be fascinated by it.
But if you thought that your faux pretence of being really into the music that's currently being played would allow you to have some time for your brain to return to its normal state, you were wrong.
"Would you like to dance with me?" The deep, husky voice speaks, causing a shiver to run down your spine and causing your brain to turn into mush, yet once again.
You look at his outstretched palm and think. Here stands a man, so gorgeous that you think you may be dreaming. What's more? He's here talking to you and asking if you'd like to dance with him as if it wouldn't be a moment straight out of a fairytale for you.
At the back of your mind, there is a nervous voice that seems to be worried about you making a fool out of yourself. But then, what's the point of not living in the moment? You know if you don't enjoy and let yourself be, you'll regret it.
"I'd love to but then I don't dance with strangers," you respond with a little sassy curl to your lips. If he wants to dance with you, he has to tell you his name. Because, boy oh boy, do you want to know it so badly. Want to put a name to the face that won't be leaving your mind anytime soon.
He seems impressed with your words and hums, "Fair enough."
He takes a step towards you causing you to panic. Fuck you weren't prepared for this. You weren't prepared for this at all. Too bad for you he doesn't stop there, he bends down and comes close enough such that you feel his warm breath hit your ear. "I go by Kim Taehyung."
Fuck, there goes your heart doing somersaults as if it's the Olympics.
Gulping, you blink at him as he retracts a step. The smirk on his face makes you double-check. This motherfucker knows what he's doing.
You clear your throat before you try to put up a facade of not being affected at all. You know there is no point in it but then, if you were to let your body express how you're feeling on the inside, you're pretty sure you'd collapse on the ground. Right now, butterfly legs have more strength than yours.
"I guess I wouldn't mind dancing with you, Mr. Kim Taehyung," you put your hand forward for him to take.
And so he does and with a wide charming smile, guides you towards the dance floor.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Dancing with Taehyung is nice.
With his hands resting on your waist and yours resting on his shoulders, the two of you sway gently along with the music. It's relaxing, calm and enjoyable.
And you don't even realise it consciously but you feel more at ease with him.
"Here's a question for you," he speaks for the first time since the two of you have stepped on the dance floor. "Back then, were you perhaps looking for some sort of stain on my suit?"
You immediately know what he's talking about and your cheeks heat up. "Um, yes. That was my instinct."
A smirk appears on his face as if his assumptions have been just proved right. "Do you happen to bump into people and spill drinks on them a lot?"
"No, that's just what happens in movies and stuff and that's the first thing that came to my mind," you retort, defending your line of thinking. Isn't it just natural to look for possible damage you may have caused to the other person's clothing if you happen to collide with them in an event where almost everyone has a drink in their hand?
"Do you watch movies a lot?"
You may be wrong but you detect an undertone of confusion in his voice and it makes you feel confused.
"Yes, I do," you affirm.
He pushes away whatever confusion he may be having and smiles cheekily. "Then you must know that such bumpings always take place with the hero, who's dashingly handsome and cute."
Well, he definitely can be a hero of a cliche rom-com. It would suit him."Or someone who's middle-aged and rich and creepy and thinks they own the world."
Taehyung chuckles at your words, enjoying how you seem to have gotten comfortable enough to challenge him. "Well I'm not sixty, not creepy and I definitely do not think that I own the world."
"So you don't deny being rich?"
"I shouldn't be lying, now. Should I?"
"Huh, would you look at that, I'm suddenly very interested in you."
A boxy grin appears on his face and he pulls you closer by the waist. "I'm glad to know that."
A part of you feels like looking away from his eyes but the other, much more dominant part of you, just wants to keep looking into them. So you do. You stare into his eyes and find yourself mesmerised by the intensity they seem to hold. His orbs are simply the prettiest shade of brown and you feel like you may just get lost in them.
The music changing into something more upbeat, thankfully breaks you out of the staring contest you had started out of nowhere.
Both of you start moving a little faster to keep up with the music and erupt into a fit of chuckles every time one of you steps on the other's feet by mistake.
You two dance for three more songs until a man who looks about the same age as Taehyung, approaches him and whispers something into his ears. Taehyung's expression changes into something remorseful.
"I'm sorry but I'll have to leave," he informs you with a small frown.
His words make you mirror his expression and you feel disheartened at the thought of him leaving. But it's not like you can ask him to not leave.
"Sure," you speak with a smile that you hope looks genuine. You don't want him to know that somewhere you feel sad that the time you two had has come to an end.
He squeezes your waist lightly before letting go and with one final parting smile, he's gone.
---------------------------------------------------------------
You are glad that the event has finally come to an end.
You have been feeling incredibly bored and nothing has been appealing to you. You have been wanting to go home and finally, you can do that.
It's odd but you're sure that your sudden lack of interest has something to do with a certain man named Kim Taehyung. The way he caught your attention and left you mesmerised has made everything else seem dull in comparison.
There is a tiny part of you that feels disappointed thinking that this might be the first and the last time you met him. It's not like you have any contact information of his, all you know about the man is his name. It's also not like you provided him your contact details and neither did you express that you'd like to know him beyond this evening.
Heck, he was so enchanting that all you were focused on was him. There was hardly any rational thinking, only nervous butterflies and shy smiles.
But now you wish you had just asked him for his number, his insta handle, his Snapchat, just anything. Anything is better than wanting to rewind time so that you can relive the moments with him.
You're so lost in your thoughts that you don't notice the man who's heading in your direction. It's only when they collide with you that you realise how mindlessly you were walking.
The collision takes you by surprise, making you yelp and you drop the purse you were holding. Somehow the clutch of the purse is loosened on coming in contact with the ground and all the belongings you were carrying get scattered.
"I'm sorry," the man in question apologises and bends down to collect your stuff.
"It's alright," you say, before doing the same.
It hardly takes a minute for the both of you to put your things back together. When it's done, the man apologises once again before leaving.
You sigh, not thinking much of the interaction and exit the hallways and ultimately get in your car.
---------------------------------------------------------------
By the time you reach home, you're exhausted.
How you manage to take a shower and freshen up, is beyond your understanding but somehow you do.
You sit on your bed and go through your phone to respond to some texts. Once done, you open your purse to get the charger with the intention of plugging your phone to it and going to sleep.
However, while your hands look for the charger, it comes in contact with something that makes you frown. Confused, you take the object out only to realise that it's a card.
Your confusion increases even more when you read the details of the card. It's of some manager of some agency.
Huh? What is it doing in your bag and whose is it?
You flip the card and on the backside, there's another number but this one is handwritten. Below the number are the initials 'KTH' and next to it is a small hand-drawn smiley face.
You try to think who 'KTH' could stand for but nothing clicks in your brain. Not having a clue as to whose number this is and what this card is for, you decide to Google the agency name.
As soon as you get the results of your search, you are shocked to your very core. The very first picture that pops up is that of Taehyung.
And then it clicks.
Taehyung. Kim Taehyung. KTH.
This is Taehyung's number.
As soon as the realisation clicks, you type his name on the search bar. After all, if his picture is the first one that Google shows you when you search for a particular agency, it must mean he's someone famous.
And your assumptions are proved right when you read the results. Apparently, he's a very famous actor who has been part of many films and is a favourite amongst the fans. No matter what article you click on or what review you read, everyone only has to say good things about him.
With the new information about him, a few things start making sense to you. Why he was surprised when you said you had no idea who he was or why he looked confused when you said that you do watch a lot of films.
Once your little search is over you close the search window and with big surprised eyes think to make sense of the situation.
You met one of the most gorgeous men on earth. You spent time with him. There mayhaps was some flirting involved. You danced with him. And this man turns out to be a world-famous actor who has a huge fan following.
What. The. Fuck.
Not only that, you currently hold the said world-famous actor's number in between your fingers.
When this particular thought occurs to you, a question comes to your mind. How did this card reach your purse?
You skim your brain for the events of the night and the only possible explanation that comes to you is the man you collided with just before leaving the hallways. It must be him.
With that question being answered, the only thing that's left for you to do is to text him. You don't even sit and wonder about what to text and whether you texting him at this time would come off as you being extra eager. You just text him.
You: hello?
Kim Taehyung: is this y/n?
You: yes
Kim Taehyung: geez finally
Kim Taehyung: i thought you wouldn't text
His words make you grin wide and suddenly all your exhaustion is gone. Your fingers get to work as you type out a witty response. His response comes instantly.
It's fair to say, you spend another hour chatting with him and go to bed with a sweet good-night text from him.
Good night, it is.

The next morning, you wake up in your bed.
The moment your eyes open, you're greeted with a heavy feeling in your chest. For a very short period of time, your brain remains unresponsive and clueless as to why you're feeling the way you're feeling. But soon it all clicks and the memories of last night come rushing back.
You sigh, feeling too tired to feel the pain and humiliation you know you will if you were to allow yourself to replay the events of last night. Hence, you decide to not let yourself repeat the scene in your head as you head towards the washroom. In a way, it's almost as if you're not letting yourself feel the emotions that your mind wants you to process. But you're too exhausted to hold a debate about whether that's healthy or not.
Once you're done freshening up, you wear your clothes for your shift at the cafe. When it's time for you to head out, you hesitate just for a second before you open the door to the living room.
It's only silence that greets you. You should have known. It's not uncommon for you to find the house empty. If anything, it would be weird if you were to find either of your parents in the house, greeting you with a good morning like every other normal household.
Sighing, you walk towards the shoe rack but much to your surprise, a soft and warm voice calls for your name.
The sound of your name causes you to squeak and you turn around to look at whoever it is that just caused your heart rate to spike by hundred.
Upon turning around, you're met with two warm brown eyes which shine with amusement at your scared form. Two brown eyes, you recognise to be your family cook's.
"Laura," you place your hands on your heaving chest to calm yourself down. "You scared me."
"My apologies, I did not intend to." She smiles at you, amusement now replaced with a tender look in her eyes. "Now, come I have made you breakfast, you're not leaving home on an empty stomach. You will get weak that way."
Your first instinct is to deny because you're not in the mood of eating at all. Although you try not to think about your issues, there's still that continuous churning in your stomach that reminds you there's a lot of negative emotion you haven't processed properly. A lot, you honestly, don't know how to process. That feeling in your gut doesn't make food sound appealing at all.
But then something inside you stops you from uttering the no that is on your lips. It's the part of you that doesn't have the heart to deny the very first person, who at least bothered to take notice of you and asked you to have your food.
It's just that longing for the minimum acknowledgement that has you nodding your head to Laura's previous question with a smile on your face, that radiates the same amount of tenderness as the one in her eyes.
You will take whatever you get, from whoever is willing to give.
She doesn't say much as she swiftly turns around and heads to the large dining table. You take it as your cue to do the same and follow her. She pulls out a chair for you to sit on and then arranges the plates in front of you. She then disappears for a few moments, for what you assume is to bring food from the kitchen.
You're simply running your fingers across the patterns of the table cloth when you smell it.
Lemon ricotta pasta.
Your eyes widen in excitement and you snap your head towards the kitchen entrance, where you assume the aroma is coming from. At the very same moment, Laura comes and much to your delight, she is indeed carrying a bowl of your favourite type of pasta.
She chuckles at your excited form and the big smile that's on your face.
"You cooked lemon ricotta pasta?" You exclaim, your mind narrowly focused on the fact that you are going to have one of your favourite dishes in your breakfast. You're so happy that you forget about everything that has been bothering you in recent days.
"I did," she replies as she serves pasta on your plate. "I hope you like it."
Well, if you were to go by the way it looks and smells, you already like it.
She sprinkles some chilli flakes on the top. "Your mom told me that this is your favourite."
Your mind abruptly stops working for a second. "Mom knows I like this?"
"Of course, she does. She gave me a list of foods that you enjoy." She chuckles.
Once again, you find yourself being speechless. "She did?"
She nods. "She also told me to not cook any of your favourite dishes for you until you're well settled. She was worried that it would take your body some time to adjust to the weather in Busan. Just so that your immunity doesn't become weak, she suggested you eat healthy, nutritional food. And we all know that the ones you like aren't exactly healthy."
Despite the storm of emotions that rage through you, you find yourself letting out a chuckle. The kind of food you like, is indeed not healthy, aka greasy as fuck.
But that chuckle soon subsides when you realise, you don't exactly know what you feel. You feel a certain warmth bloom through your chest, of course. Your mom cares for you. The thought itself is enough to make your day.
In theory, you always did know that she cares for you but the number of times you have felt being cared for is a handful. Which is why, you always treated the moments when you felt that you're cared for, very close to your heart. This being one of those.
With that warmth, there's also this bitterness that spreads through you because you have no idea what your mom's favourite dishes are. Or your dad's for a fact. All you know is that your mom likes spicy dishes but what in particular, you have zero clues.
It's not like you have never asked them. But it was once, years ago. You don't know if they still like those dishes or what other new dishes they have tried in the last few years, that they found good enough to be added to the list.
You never asked them again, because how many questions can someone ask over the phone? You can ask about their favourite dishes but then what about their favourite movie? Their favourite artist? Their favourite song? What about their dislikes?
Most of these things aren't asked, they are observed. Which again, you never got the chance to do.
The new mixed feelings added to the exhaustion you feel from the events of last night, has you focusing on the food instead, in an attempt to distract yourself. Taking a bite, you hum in delight.
"This is so good." Your brows furrow in concentration. The food tastes so good that you find yourself genuinely distracted. You haven't had this for a long time now, and this surely is a treat for your tastebuds.
"I'm glad you like it."
"Thank you so much for taking the time to make this for me." You say after swallowing down a huge bite.
"You don't have to thank me." She shakes her head. "Anytime you feel like eating something just come to me. I'll try and see if I can make it for you."
You mumble another thank you and keep the you're too sweet to yourself. You don't know if it would be weird to say that to someone you're only talking to for the first time. You don't want to express how touched you are by her words because you don't know if she will find it weird. You never thought these small gestures would make you so emotional someday. More than anything, you don't want to mess up by over welcoming yourself. You did that with the whole boxing practice thing and someone aka Jungkook clearly wasn't fond of it. What if-
Something snaps inside you.
You shake your head to yourself in frustration. This is not the time to think about Jungkook. You can't let him get to you every time. This is a good moment, Laura is clearly not like Jungkook. Most importantly, you feel good. You cannot let thoughts of Jungkook ruin it for you.
Jungkook was rude to you, and that's on him.
Sure, his words still hurt because he despises you for the mistakes you made. Mistakes. Especially, mistakes you made while trying to fit in. You are also sure that if he were to, again, be rude to you, you'd be hurt. Although, maybe not as much as you initially were. That's because now you have an idea of what Jungkook is like, so his words probably won't come off as a surprise to you. Now, you know what to expect from him.
And honestly, you don't want anything to do with him.
But the question is how long are you going to let it affect you? How long are you going to react to his words?
You simply don't want to keep reacting to his words anymore. Because when you do, your happy moments are ruined by the feelings of hurt he has caused.
How do you stop reacting though?
That is a question you will need some time to figure out the answer to. For the time being you settle for taking a deep breath and finish the food on your plate. When you're done, you rest the spoon on your plate and look up at Laura.
"Laura?" You call out.
"Hmm?" Laura glances at you and notices that you are done eating. "Do you want some more?"
"Ah, no," you shake your head. "I just wanted to thank you for making pasta. It's very sweet of you."
She gives you a sweet smile. "You don't have to thank me for that. I'm just glad you enjoyed it."
You nod at her with your smile broadening.
This feels nice.
You said what you wanted to say. You didn't let your fears stop you. You did it for yourself. You didn't let Jungkook's words, which your mind has quite honestly been obsessed with, stop you.
This sure feels nice.
The day at the cafe is busy.
There is a steady flow of customers and the whole place is bustling with no empty seats. You find yourself being occupied with the long line of people as you're currently in charge of taking down their orders.
But you kind of enjoy it, enjoy being busy and occupied. That way, your mind isn't wandering to places. Plus, the low murmur that is spread throughout the cafe is kind of nice. Makes you feel a little less lonely.
You also enjoy taking glimpses of the people who are sitting in the cafe. It's like a window to their lives.
In the extreme right corner are sat two kids with their dad. You observe the way the younger boy explains something very animatedly to his slightly older sister and find it endearingly cute. Their dad is nodding along aggressively so that his son knows that he's listening to him. A few tables in front of them, sits a young lady, probably just a few years older than you. She looks lost in whatever it is that is on her computer screen. Maybe she's reading a story. Maybe she's doing some office work. Maybe she's simply thinking something and has zoned out from the letters on the screen. Whatever it is, it seems important enough that she doesn't notice the plate of cookies that are being placed in front of her and the waitress has to call her twice, to gain her attention. A few feet away from her table seats a man who is probably in his forties and at the moment, he seems interested in gazing out of the glass walls.
Your eyes move back to the computer screen in front of you as the person who was next in line, recites his order.
That's what you like about this job. You can just take a glimpse at people in between taking orders or serving. For some odd reason, you enjoy it a lot. It's like you're working but then after every minute or two, you also get to allow your mind to venture here and there about the people around you. It feels nice almost like you're taking a break in between orders and serving when you can.
It's around fifteen minutes and a few orders later that you look up from your computer screen to greet the next person in line, but when you notice who the person is, your smile fades.
Jimin.
God, your day has been nice, please don't get it ruined.
"Hello, Y/N," he greets, with a smile that you can tell is genuine, which puts you slightly at ease. He also, seems completely unaffected by the way your smile faded the moment you saw him.
"Hey," you say a little hesitantly, not knowing how to act around him after last night.
"Can I have two lattes please?"
At his words, you feel a certain amount of relief spread through your body. He's possibly here only for the coffee. You nod and type away on your computer. "Sure, that would be 12,947 Won."
Jimin fishes for his wallets and pays for the order. "I know it might not be the best time but can I talk to you for a moment?"
Well fuck. You spoke too soon.
Before you can politely decline him and give the busy day as an excuse, Linda appears out of nowhere and gently nudges you such that she now has access to the keyboard and the computer screen.
"Go talk to him. I'll take care of the orders meanwhile," she doesn't stop there but also shoots you a suggestive wink, one which is subtle enough so that Jimin doesn't catch it.
Oh god.
Did she think something was going on between you and Jimin? If you were to go by the wink, she probably does. But you decide that's a conversation you'll have with her later. Clarifying it in front of Jimin might just be weird.
You sigh and give her a nod before you're exiting the counter and pushing the separator so that you can make your way to where Jimin is standing.
Jimin gives you another one of his smiles but this time he looks nervous. As odd as it is, the nervous smile somehow soothes you a little bit because now you know you're not the only one who's feeling that way.
"I just wanted to apologise for yesterday."
Now that catches you off guard.
You were a bit cautious of what Jimin had to say to you. You know Jimin is a much nicer and friendlier guy than Jungkook but you were somewhat embarrassed to face him after yesterday. After all, you did get treated as if you're a good-for-nothing person in front of him. Albeit, Jimin's drunk self was nice to you but even then, you still felt embarrassed and awkward talking to him.
But out of all things, you weren't expecting him to apologise to you.
Your reaction to his apology is stuttering.
Looking at your expression, which most likely screams that you don't know what to say, Jimin decides on explaining exactly what he is sorry for. "Listen, I don't know what I was thinking knocking at your door at three in the morning. I don't have an excuse for my behaviour except for the fact that I was drunk-"
His apology speech gets cut off by a snort that escapes your lips. It is very unlike you, to find something hilarious in a situation like this, where you are completely caught off guard. But something about his words has you reacting that way without giving it much thought.
The moment you realise what you had done, you tense up and you're ready to apologise for being insincere when he was apologising to you so sincerely. But then he beats you to it.
"Anything funny about what I said?" Jimin asks with his brows furrowed. You'd think that what you feared was true and that your slip had offended him, had it not been for the way he tries a little too hard to look offended.
That extra hard frown of his paired with the playfulness in his orbs is enough for you to know that he isn't offended at all. So you allow yourself to relax a little and a small grin appears on your lips.
"It's just that it sounds like you're apologising for cheating on someone."
That catches Jimin off guard and he starts to replay his words in his mind. You see the very moment it clicks in his mind and a shy, almost embarrassed smile appears on his lips.
"I did sound like that, didn't I?" He mumbles.
You nod with a chuckle. "Don't worry about it. I get that you were drunk. Your apology has been accepted."
Jimin sighs in relief but he looks like he has got something more to say.
You watch the hesitance play on his face before he finally decides to just go for it. "I'd also like to apologise on Jungkook's behalf. He had no right doing what he did, yesterday-"
"You don't have to apologise for something you never did." You interrupt him before he can continue because Jimin has no reason to apologise for the asshole-ery his friend displayed. And perhaps, you also cut him off because Jimin continuing with his words only reminds you of the incidents of last night.
Jimin chews on his lips and casts his gaze on the floor. "I know but still, I'm sure he feels bad too for what he did."
Once again, you snort. This time, it's a bit sarcastic.
"You don't have to lie. I might not have known Jungkook for long, but I know him enough to know that he isn't sorry for what he did."
Jimin still has that look which gives the impression that he has more to say, but this time he decides otherwise, much to your relief.
"So, if I am forgiven and all is good, can we be friends?" He queries with a small shy grin.
The question surprises you but when your brain slowly catches up with his words, you feel a giddiness spread throughout you.
Are you finally going to have a friend here? Damn, today is a good day.
If your brain had hands, it would probably do a keyboard smash right now.
You try to keep your smile contained and try not to show exactly how excited you are to be friends with him (but you're sure you failed terribly at your attempt). "I'd love to be friends with you."
You notice Jimin's smile widening and his eyes disappearing to form crescents. "Great! Maybe if I converse with you, I will finally get good at English."
"Is that why you wanted to be friends with me?" You joke, with squinted eyes.
"Yes, indeed. But don't worry, in return, I'll take you to all the good places in Busan where you can get authentic Korean food." He winks, playing into your joke.
"Ah, so it's like I help you get better at English and you help me to get to know Busan better?"
He nods, trying to suppress his smile to give off a serious look. "Guess we are friends with benefits, now."
You make a disgusted face. "Gosh, I can tell you are cringe."
"Everyone is," he shrugs.
"True," you agree. "So, now tell me when do I get to taste authentic Korean food?" The excitement is palpable in your voice. You had always wanted to explore the city but with how your mood has been, you never had the energy to go out. But now that Jimin is more than willing to give you a tour of the city, you think it won't be as lonely as you'd imagined it to be.
Jimin hums. "Well, how about once the tournament ends? Would you be free then?"
Your eyes spark with surprise at his words. "The tournament hasn't ended yet?"
He shakes his head and lowers his volume so that the words are only audible to you. "Apparently the news of illegal boxing got around and police got involved. The tournament had to be paused temporarily until things got under control."
"Police?! Is it dangerous? This whole tournament thing? The people you all are involved with?" You whisper shout.
You are well aware that there must be some sort of danger involved. Had it not been the case, you wouldn't have been sent to Canada. But even then, you still do not have any idea as to what that amount of danger might be.
Jimin contemplates for a few moments before answering your question. "It can be dangerous."
"Can?" You prod.
He nods. "Yes, but I don't think it's a conversation appropriate for a place like this."
Your fingers fiddle with each other as you keep your curiosity in and give him a nod in return as if to say that you understand where he's coming from. However, there's one question that you end up asking when you know you probably shouldn't have.
"Do you think I can attend one of the matches?"
The moment the words leave your lips you see the surprised look that appears on his face as if he never expected you to ask that of all things. But the moment the surprise wears off, he shakes his head furiously. "There's no way. Your dad would never approve and honestly, I agree. It's not something you want to be a part of, trust me on that."
The words don't come off as a surprise. You already knew what the answer was going to be. But that doesn't mean you don't feel a bit dejected because you do really want to go to one of the matches just to know what the environment is like.
Jimin recognises the look on your face. "Don't be sad about it. I'll tell you everything in detail about the match. I'd have shown you videos but then recording is prohibited."
Somehow his words put a smile on your face. Knowing that he is willing to describe the match to you, for some reason means a lot. To add to that is how he answers your questions and acknowledges your curiosity, even when he doesn't necessarily understand where that curiosity is rooted from. It makes you feel oddly nice to know that there is someone you can talk to about the regular stuff as well as stuff that you have always felt, was prohibited for you to know about.
"Thank you, I'd appreciate that." You say with sincerity coating every word of yours.
"Always glad to help," he grins. It's then that his name is called for him to collect his order. "Ah, I think I should get going. Lord knows, Jungkook gets real cranky when he doesn't have coffee in his system."
"Here, I thought being cranky was his default mode." You blurt out before realising you were technically badmouthing Jimin's friend in front of him.
Before you can apologise and panic any further, Jimin laughs with his head thrown back and clutches his stomach. "Damn, I wish Jungkook was here to hear that. Would have served him right."
It's almost as if some higher power has heard his wishes because at that very moment Jungkook enters the shop, wondering what is taking Jimin so long. His eyes do a quick scan before landing on the two of you. The sight that he is greeted with, perplexes him to no end.
It's Jimin laughing extremely hard, the way he usually does and it's you standing a few steps away from Jimin with a small, easy smile playing on your lips. He doesn't know what the two of you are talking about and by the look of it, neither of you have noticed him.
He has long forgotten why he came here in the first place for there's one thought that currently has his whole attention.
Looks like his best friend and you, are friends now.

Kim Seokjin
"That's cute," Jin quips.
"Huh?" You say in a questioning tone. Not understanding what exactly he is commenting on.
"The guy preparing dishes for the girl, even though he sucks like really bad at it." He replies with an amused smirk playing on his lips.
Your eyes drift back to the screen for a brief moment to see the said guy now mistaking sugar for salt.
"I mean, dude is trying, so yeah, it is cute," you agree with a nod and take another scoop out of your ice cream tub.
"If only he had my cooking skills." He boasts, leaning back slightly as his smirk turns cocky.
"You went from complimenting the lead guy to complimenting yourself, real quick." You quirk a brow at him, letting him know that you totally intend on calling him out.
"Does that surprise you?" He ask, quirking a brow of his own, in return.
A soft smile appears on your lips. "Considering that it's you, no, it really doesn't."
He nods at you to agree with your words. "Hey, but it's true though. I am a great cook and my girl would be really lucky to have me as her man."
Something about the phrase my girl rubs you off in the wrong way. Maybe it's because when he speaks it like that, your brain comes up with the image of someone faceless being all coupley with him. But that's the thing, you don't want that person to be faceless, you want it to be you.
"So you'll cook for your girlfriend?" You ask trying to keep your tone playful to hide the way your stomach is currently churning.
He looks at you as if you have asked the most ridiculous question and as if the answer to that question should be obvious. "Duh, that's like one of my top date ideas. To cook for the girl I love and wooing her with my skills."
You hum in response.
Does he ever think of you that way? Is the person faceless to him as well? Or does he have someone he likes already?
"Jin," you call out, not thinking straight and acting solely on the emotions that are coursing through your veins. Perhaps, you have had enough of bottling up these feelings and of not having a clue where you stand.
He responds with a hum before glancing away from the screen to look at you.
"I have feelings for you."
For a few moments there's only silence except for the noises from the TV and in those few moments you keep your eyes locked with his, simply because you're far too anxious to move even in the slightest. Plus, having your eyes on him allows you to notice every emotion that plays on his face.
But the longer the silence stretches, the more your heart sinks.
If you were to go by his reaction, or lack thereof, you know, that whatever words he's about to speak, will only break your heart.
Jin closes and opens his mouth a few times, searching for a reply. He just wants to say something, anything that will break this awkward silence.
"You can just be honest with me, you know?" You say, adding a light chuckle at the end, in hopes that it will make him feel comfortable enough to spit out whatever it is that he wants to say.
Thankfully, it seems to give him enough courage.
"I just, haven't ever thought about us like that and your confession caught me extremely off guard." Jin sighs. "But I'm glad you confessed, I can imagine how tiring it can get to keep your feelings to yourself. I just hope now you feel a little lighter and I really don't know what's the app–"
He is cut off by a something small hitting him right across the face. When he realises that it's a popcorn and that it's you, who has aimed it at him, he stops his rambling and looks at you with a confused frown.
"You don't have to ramble so much," you snort.
"I just don't know what to say," Jin for some reason looks disappointed with himself. "Just give me sometime?"
You shrug, pretending to be totally unbothered. "Don't worry about it. Take all the time you need."
With that you turn back towards the tv screen, and rewind the movie a little bit because you have no idea how the plot progressed in the last ten minutes. Jin takes the hint that this conversation is over, at least, for now and resumes watching the movie.
However, you can feel his eyes swiftly move to your face every now and then, just to make sure you're okay.
Any other time, you'd have appreciated it and cooed at how sweet and caring he is, but right now, you honestly hate it.
Because even though he didn't directly say it, you understood what he meant. He does not know how to turn you down.
You understood it the moment he said that that he has never thought about the two of you like 'that'. As someone who knows what falling in love feels like, you know, picturing yourself with the person you want, is something that happens automatically. It's just a part of the process.
But it never occurred to him that way because he never really found himself falling for you.
So for the next twenty minutes, you pretend to be slowly falling asleep to avoid any sort of Interactions with the man, who's sitting a few feet away.
Min Yoongi
"You're late," that's the first thing Yoongi says when you take your seat. Rightly so, you think. Afterall, you're half an hour late and had it not been for your text you're pretty sure Yoongi would have left by now.
"I'm sorry, there was too much traffic," you lie hoping he buys it.
He nods but a part of you thinks he doesn't completely believe it, yet chooses not to question your words.
Instead he hands over the menu to you. "What would you like to order?"
"I will just have the usual, I guess," you reply not bothering to skim through the menu.
"Well then," he dings the bell, notifying the waiter that you both are ready to order.
Once the waiter has noted down both of your orders and is gone, you find yourself glancing around awkwardly to avoid his eyes.
"How was your Sunday?" His deep voice greets your ears and you mentally curse out loud.
"It was just another Sunday," you shrug, not bothering to keep up the conversation because honestly, you're scared as fuck to exceute your plan.
Okay, that sounded very spy like but it's not that serious.
Your plan is to confess to Yoongi.
Yoongi is the man you're engaged to.
The man you're engaged to because getting married to him, would be extremely beneficial to both of your father's companies. The man with whom you have gone on ten dates so far, because although, arranged, you two should get the oppurtunity to get to know each other before marriage. The man for whom you've found yourself falling, just after the third date.
When you put it like that, it does sound as intense as being a spy. Because even though the two of you have been on dates and are about to get married, Yoongi isn't someone who's emotions can be read very easily.
You don't even know if he enjoys your company or agreed to go on the dates with you just because he feels like he has to. He doesn't make you feel unwanted but that doesn't mean you feel particularly wanted either. It's somewhere in between. Which is confusing as fuck, to be honest.
But it's not like all that matters. You both are getting married eitherways, so the bare minimum you can do is to be honest about your feelings for him. That way, you'd let him know where you stand in this arrangement.
You have told yourself that just because you found yourself falling for him this quick doesn't mean he'll too. If his current feelings for you, turns out to be platonic, you'll be okay with it. But that doesn't mean that a part of you does not hope for him to reciprocate your feelings.
And it's because of your 'plan' to confess, that you were late by half an hour. You just kept pacing in your office and lost track of time.
But now that you're here sitting infront of him, and staring at him, you realise that there's no point in stalling.
"Actually, I realised something this Sunday," you say.
He quirks a brow that lets you know that you've got his attention. "What that realisation might be?"
You sigh, feeling your nerves take over. "That if we're going to get married, we should be honest with each other."
His curious expression turns into that of a confused frown. "What do you mean?"
You chew on your lower lip before taking a deep breath in hopes that it will provide you with the courage you need to just let the words out. "I like you."
Yoongi's face remains neutral but you don't miss the glimpse of surprise that flashes through his eyes. That surprise is enough to tell you that he wasn't expecting that.
He remains silent for a few moments and you let him be. Before he can speak, the waiter comes with the food which breaks the tense atmosphere.
Thanking him, you take your portion of chicken on your plate, when Yoongi starts speaking.
"Thanks for being honest with me," he says it softly and in a tone that lets you know that he means it. It also lets you know that there is a but coming. "But I guess I have been too stuck in my head to let myself relax and feel anything."
There we go.
You know you said that you'd be okay with him turning you down but now you don't feel okay at all.
It hurts.
But you guess, you should have seen it coming.
It doesn't help that from the very moment, you realised your feelings for Yoongi, your brain had been imagining you two being happily married and being in love with each other. Basically living with each other like any other couple who marry in normal circumstances.
Your hurt must have been visible on your face because as soon as Yoongi notices the effect his words have, he starts fumbling with his words.
"Look-What I mean to say–"
You chuckle, albeit a fake one, to put him at ease. "You don't have to explain yourself, it's okay."
Yoongi looks unsure but figures he doesn't know what else to say. Which is why he ends up asking, "are you sure?"
You nod and give him smile, hoping to reassure him.
As you look back at your plate, you find yourself wondering what this marriage is going to be like. It's not exactly loveless, but then that love isn't reciprocated. You find yourself panicking extremely, when you think of the both of you living together.
Fuck, what's worse is now he's aware of what you feel for him. You two would pretend to be happily married to the rest of the world and be awkward when away from the public eye.
What the fuck have you gotten yourself into.
Jung Hoseok
It's weird now that you have confessed to Hoseok, your dance teacher.
You know when the term "teacher" is used in a sentence like that, people usually frown. But you'd come to your defense and say, that there's nothing frown-worthy here.
You're twenty two and he's twenty six, both adults and belong to the age group where you both can make your own decisions. Plus, it isn't the usual teacher-student scenario here. Although, you and Hoseok started off with him being your teacher, gradually the two of you became friends.
Hence, it's fair to say he isn't just your teacher.
It's when you started to get to know him outside of the four walls of your classroom, that you started to fall for him. How could you not? He's a literal sunshine. A person who can light up anyone's mood and someone who's presence feels so warm and bright.
You've honestly, never met someone like him before.
You think he should have seen your confession coming but the surprised Pikachu face he made upon your decaration of love, told you that he clearly did not anticipate that.
The whole confessing thing went fine. You were scared, yes, but you did it. What isn't fine, however, is how he is yet to give you an answer.
But it was you who had asked him to take as much time as he needed and to not feel pressured. But after seven long days, you're getting antsy.
Which is why, once the class is over, you linger until everyone else is gone. Once you notice that there's no one else and just you and Hoseok, you head towards him.
You tap on his shoulders to make him aware of your presence.
He turns around and upon noticing that it's you, he gives you one of your sunshine smiles. "Hello."
"Hey," you return his smile and greet him back. "If you don't mind, can I talk to you about something?"
He nods without missing a beat and you honestly love how this isn't awkward at all. Although, by the look in his eyes, you think he has some idea what you want to say. "Did you think about what I said last week?"
Hoseok gives you a nod again, and this time his smile turns apologetic. "Yes I did and I'm so sorry for not reaching out to you any sooner."
You wave your hand in the hair dismissing his words. "Don't apologise, it's obvious that you'd need your time to gain some clarity."
"Thank you so much for being so understanding." He feels relieved to hear your words but sighs when he realises what he will have to do. "But I think I'd rather us be friends, I'm sorry."
Ouch.
You chuckle. "Again, there's nothing you have to apologise about. Thanks for letting me know."
With that you give a tiny little wave and head for the door.
"Wait, you're leaving?" He queries, not expecting you to just leave.
You smile at his question. "Although I'm like totally cool, I still need some time away to let it sink in that the guy I have been crushing on for months, just turned me down."
Hoseok feels bad when you put it like that but he knows you're right. "I get that, I'm sorry–"
"Stop apologising, will you?" You say in a light tone letting him know that there's nothing that he should be worried about and that you're definitely not upset about his rejection. When you notice that his expression has softened, you offer him one last smile before heading out.
When the warm air greets you outside, you feel a bit of melancholy. It's just your mind that wonders how beautiful it would have been had you got the opportunity to call Hoseok, yours. How lucky would you have been had you got to see the side of Hoseok that he reserves only for the special someone. How you could have easily fallen in love with him and would have cherished him.
But alas, you don't think that you'll get the chance to do any of the above.
You just hope whoever, gets to do those things with him, they cherish him and treat him right.
Kim Namjoon
"I have feelings for you," you slur, the evidence of alcohol heavily present in both your breath and words.
Namjoon, the person your words are directed at, completely freezes. He blinks a few times for you to say something like sike! gotcha but when you don't, he lets out a nervous chuckle. "You're drunk, you probably don't even know what you're saying."
"Just say that you don't feel the same. Don't try to educate me about whether I'm drunk or not," you whine in complaint. "I anyway saw you making out with that girl a few minutes ago."
Namjoon's expression changes when he realises that although you're saying this in your drunken state, you very well know what you're talking about. Were you really confessing to him? Right now? At your brother's birthday party?
"Hey, c'mon we can talk about this later." He says trying to keep his voice gentle so that he doesn't sound as panicked as he feels.
"No, I need you to say it to me." You reply, voice as firm as it can be in your drunk state. "I need you to say that you don't feel the same. That would help me get over you."
At the end of it, you end up looking like a child throwing tantrum with a pout and a sad yet annoyed frown on your face.
Any other time Namjoon would have cooed at the sight but right now he's too concerned about not making a scene and gain unnecessary attention.
His eyes do a quick scan of his surrounding and when he makes sure that so far the two of you have managed to not draw attention, his eyes drift back towards you and he speaks in a hurried, hushed tone. "I don't think this is the right time to talk about this. Especially not in a room full of people."
"You're deflecting from the topic," you huff and cross your arms. "There's nothing too difficult about rejecting my confession. Just say so and we will be done."
"Can we do this later–"
"No we can't," you cut him off and stomp your feet in anger. "You don't know how much it hurts everytime you treat me as just your best friend's little sister. I know you'd never see me like that but seeing you make out with someone else was a whole different level of hurt."
Namjoon's features soften when he notices that now your features have turned that into of heartbreak.
"I understand what you're trying to say," he says his eyes now on the floor. "But still, I think that this is a conversation that should be saved for later."
You get closer to him, your eyes visibly fuming with how he refuses to take your words seriously.
"You tell me that you don't feel the same, right to my face or I'm not moving an inch from here." You grit the words through your teeth.
Namjoon sighs and you're standing so close to him, that you feels his breath hit your face. "Is that what you want?"
"Yes," you reply without missing a beat with your eyes fixed on him, refusing to move an inch. It's your drunk mind's attempt at registering everything so that you don't forget it when you wake up tomorrow. You need to remember this so that you can put a stop to this one sided pining for once and for all.
"Well then, I don't feel the same." He whispers the words so slowly and so gently, that had it not been for your undivided attention, you'd have missed it.
But you don't.
The words have you flinching even though this is very much what you had asked for. You take a few steps back and nod at him, letting him know that you're satisfied with his answer.
You don't look up at him as you leave the hall and ultimately, the party. You think you hear a voice calling your name and you think it might just be Namjoon's but you don't turn around to confirm your suspicions.
Right now, your utmost priority is to reach your apartment and let things sink in.

Part One
Jungkook looks at your sleeping form and sighs.
He feels...weird. Bad weird.
To begin with is the fact that he was supposed to follow you closely and be nearby, such that you would always be in his range of vision. But, he was late. He can argue with his conscience and say that it's not his fault because you intentionally left behind the phone that his team tracks, but he does not. Simply, because it's not about why he was late, it's the fact that he was late.
He does not want to imagine what could have happened had he been late by a few more minutes.
The thought makes him look at you again, needing the reassurance that you are safe and right next to him.
However, when he takes notice of the small frown that's etched on your face, it makes him mirror your expression.
He thinks you must have been extremely terrified, for you to have that expression even while you're sleeping. It's a frown that tells him, that whatever thoughts or feelings you were having before falling asleep, weren't the nicest.
It makes him itch to comfort you, in any way he can.
But he can't.
It's not his place to do so. He's simply your bodyguard, after all.
For the time being, he finds solace in the thought that you're safe and do not have any severe injury.
That's something he knew from the very first moment he saw you, in the alley. In his career, he's had all sorts of injuries and knows how much an injury can hurt just by looking at it. It works the other way as well. He can look at a person and tell by their physical posture and expression, whether they are hurting somewhere or not.
He could tell that you were not hurting. Physically, at least. However, the bruises on your neck from how tightly the man gripped you, didn't escape his eyes.
He's glad that those were the only harm the man could do. But at the same time, he saw red when he saw you visibly shiver at the man's words. He could sense how scared you were.
Which is why he wanted to make sure that the man was taken away. He wanted to see it for himself. He also, hoped that you being there and witnessing the guy being taken away, provided some sort of security and comfort to you, as well.
He's not sure if it has had the desired effect, though. He wants to ask you what would make you feel better and if there's anything he can do for you to feel better. But again, it's not his place to do so. Especially, when you expressed just a few minutes ago how you feel suffocated by his presence around you. It's reasonable, he thinks. He knows he'd feel suffocated too if he were in your place.
But he still wants to be with you. He still wants to make sure that you're okay. He wants you to feel that you're safe because he's there. Which is why, even when he was supposed to accompany his team to investigate the man, he chose to accompany you instead. Because he wanted to.
It's odd for him to behave and feel this way. He can't remember the last time he felt this intense level of love and care for someone. With his job and his profession, he always needs to be on guard. He never has time for feelings.
But you broke every single guard of his.
He's aware that he should not be feeling this way. Not when your father is his employer. Not when he's your bodyguard. Not when you feel suffocated because of him.
The car halting causes him to glance out and he realises that the two of you have reached your destination.
His eyes then move back to your sleeping form and he gently calls your name in hopes that you'll wake up. And thankfully, you do. You slowly open your eyes and blink a few times.
"We are here," Jungkook says to you, keeping his voice as soft as he can.
A nod is what he receives from you as you yawn. Jungkook opens his door and steps out of the car. Getting to your side, he opens the door for you.
You step out, your eyes still bleary from sleep. Muttering a small thank you to him, you walk towards the entrance with slow steps.
Jungkook knows this is it. He's supposed to accompany you to your apartment and then, he's off. He can't stay with you even if he wants to.
He keeps his expressions blank, or at least hopes that it is blank, on the elevator. Soon, you both find yourself in front of your apartment and Jungkook is about to bid goodbye but before he can get the words out of his mouth, you say exactly what he had desperately wanted to hear.
"Can you please, stay?"
Jungkook doesn't question why. Doesn't mention it would be inappropriate. Doesn't say anything he would have usually said in response to your words.
Instead, he simply nods and as you move away from the entrance, he walks in.
He just wants to make sure you're okay.
"Do you want me to make you a cup of tea?" He queries when the lights have been switched on.
"I thought we were ordering ice cream?" You reply with a question of your own.
"If that's what you'd prefer," he shrugs to let you know that he's okay with whatever it is that you want to order. He takes out his phone to search for your favourite shop.
"Order one mint chocolate and one chocolate," you say before he types away the order.
"Huh?" He looks up from the screen to frown at you in confusion.
"Mint chocolate for me and chocolate for you," you look away in nevrousness and miss the slightly perplexed look Jungkook shoots your way.
However, he decides that he does not want to go into technicalities today. Ordering the two flavours of ice cream, he moves to the kitchen to arrange the bowls and spoons.
Jungkook doesn't query about how you know his favourite ice cream flavour, even though he really wants to.
The two of you sit side by side on your couch, watching some random Netflix show with ice cream tubs in hand. It is quiet but it is comforting. His presence is comforting.
However, soon the silence is broken by Jungkook's phone ringing.
He apologises for the disruption before looking at his screen to check who could be calling at this hour. When he takes notice of the name on his screen, he politely excuses himself and heads for the balcony.
You don't pay much mind to it. You know it must have been something related to work.
But what if it's his girlfriend? A voice quips.
The thought causes your stomach to churn but you honestly don't have the energy to play the what-if game. It hurts to think that he might already have committed himself to someone else and that you have zero chance. But for tonight, you try not to dwell in it too much.
You just need him to be with you. Even if he's simply staying just because he's your bodyguard.
The squeaking sound of the balcony door opening catches your attention as Jungkook walks in.
He looks a little hesitant before he starts to speak. "The man is currently going through investigation. They'd like for you to be present via video so that if he lies, you can call him out on the spot but he won't be able to see you and he won't know that you are present, either."
"Although, if you feel uncomfortable doing so, you don't have to."
You let yourself think for a little while. Do you want to be there while he's being interrogated? The feeling that comes up when his face appears in your mind, isn't the nicest. But then you want to ask him your own set of questions, want to know what he has to say and most importantly why he did what he did.
You glance to meet Jungkook's gaze and you're caught off guard by the worry you see in them. Fuck, are you acting so miserable that even at home where there are no potential threats, he's feeling worried?
The thought makes you feel angry and you straighten your posture and try to look devoid of any emotion as you open your mouth to speak. "I want to be there while he's being interrogated."
Jungkook nods and with a worried frown on his face, types away the affirmative response.
"Why did you intend to hurt Miss Y/L/N?" Officer Kim asks in a stiff voice, which somehow manages to sound intimidating even through the screen.
The man, however, seems unbothered as he sneers. "She is the easiest way to get to her father. Hurt her and you will hurt him."
"Why did you intend to hurt her father?"
The man laughs like a maniac. A laugh you realise you don't recognise. You had heard him laugh before, but back then, it seemed sweet and genuine. Now it only makes you squirm in your seat in discomfort.
"It's because of that son of a bastard that we went bankrupt."
"Elaborate."
You see the effect the question has on him. His smug, cocky expression changes into that of anger and the scowl that appears on his face, causes goosebumps on his face.
"My father used to be one of the shareholders in that bastard's company. He was well respected and had a name of his own. But soon, it all came to light. They caught on to the fact that my father had been taking a percentage of the company's money and was using it for developing his own company. When word got out, he was fired in the blink of an eye." His eyes flare with anger. "It's because of that bastard and his stupid company that we are suffering now."
You want to scream. Want to knock some sense into the guy and tell him that it's not your father's fault for firing someone who was transferring money illegally. But then you can't really do that.
"Is it just you or are there other people involved with you?"
"Just me," he smirks as if it's something to be proud of.
"No one in the club was involved with you?"
"No," he replies in the same smug manner.
"You came up with the whole plan of pretending to be interested in her and taking her on a date, all by yourself?"
The man snorts.
"Date," he says in a mocking tone. "All she did was whine about that stupid bodyguard of her's."
All colour drains from your face. You have no idea where this is going.
"Jungkook this, Jungkook that, Jungkook doesn't care for me all that fucking bullshit."
You don't like where this is going.
Any other time, you'd have called him out because your voice is not that high-pitched. But at the moment, you're too busy drowning in your humiliation.
You're never getting drunk again.
"She was trying to use me as a distraction from that man. She was such a whiny bitch, god knows I was this close to snapping at her and letting my efforts go to vain."
You don't hear what else he has to say and get up hurriedly, ignoring Jungkook and his presence entirely. You pay no attention to your surroundings and beeline towards your bedroom.
You shut the door and sit on your bed to process what the fuck just happened.
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Now Jungkook must have figured it out and you just feel so embarrassed about it. How are you going to face him now? How are you going to pretend that everything is fine? Even worse, what if Jungkook pretends that none of this ever happened? But then what will you do if he acknowledges your feelings, only to turn you down?
Your brain clouds with anxious thoughts but unfortunately you don't get enough time to calm yourself down when you hear the door of your room open.
"Please don't–" you say but Jungkook doesn't listen as the sound of his feet pattering against the floor gives away the fact that he is not willing to heed your request.
"Are you okay?"
His gentle tone surprises you. You have never heard him speak in that tone. The realisation only makes you hug your pillow closer to your chest and you hide your face inside the covers.
He must be pitying you.
"Just don't talk to me. I don't need your pity. I have already been humiliated enough, just get away." You grumble, unable to hide the anger you're feeling.
Much to your dismay, you feel the bed dip, indicating that he must be sitting on your bed, now.
"Do you think me going away will make you feel better?"
You don't reply. Because you don't have an answer to his question. A part of you wants to never see Jungkook again because it reminds you of how you got exposed when you had already made up your mind to never let your feelings see the daylight. The other part of you wants to pull him close and wants to bury your face in his chest.
But what are you to do when the latter seems the only choice? When you feel and believe that you won't ever get to bask in Jungkook's comfort the way you want to? Well, your frustration grows. As a result of which, the idea of being away from Jungkook seems ideal. If he is out of sight, you possibly won't have this intense urge to pull him close.
There are a few moments of silence where neither of you speak. You think that maybe he has given up and you're about to finally let the tears fall when he speaks again, crushing all your hopes of getting some alone time.
"I do care about you, you know?" His voice is shaky. The kind of shaky where he seems unsure whether it's the right thing to say or not. The kind of tone that gives away that he is feeling nervous.
But your mind is too clouded with emotions to take notice of that.
Yeah, sure, but only as a client because it is your job to protect me. The petty voice in your head mutters and you are this close to uttering the words but instead, you let out a scoff. However, seconds later you come to regret your decision for your scoff is a clear giveaway of the fact that you're listening to his words and are very much reacting to them.
Jungkook, on the other hand, does not like the way you scoffed. It's almost as if you don't believe him. But what's there to not believe?
"Will you please look at me?" He mutters and this time he sounds a little more sure. If he were to be honest, he does not know where he is getting all this courage from, when he has been so scared of crossing any boundaries with you. And he is pretty sure, sitting on your bed, when you had clearly expressed that you'd like for him to leave, definitely crosses some boundaries.
All he knows is that the moment, he learnt how you think he feels about you, he felt completely uneasy. He just knew that he had to go after you. Although, he didn't know what comes after that. But now, that you seem so unwilling to talk to him, his heart aches and he just wants to know what he ever did for you to give him this sort of reaction.
You don't move an inch.
"I'm not moving from here until you talk to me." He declares, hoping you'd take notice of his tone and understand that he's being damn serious.
Still no response.
"Miss Y/L/N, you need to rest–"
Something about him addressing you with that title when you had repeatedly told him that it was okay to call you by your name, makes you snap.
"Why the fuck are you here, pretending to care?" You say, now sitting up straight on your bed with your voice heavily laced with anger, frustration, annoyance and hurt.
Jungkook is taken aback by your sudden outburst. After you refusing to give him any sort of response, this reaction was not what he was expecting.
He recomposes himself and stares at you softly. "I'm not pretending anything, I do care about you–"
"As a client, I know," you cut him off. You are just so not in the mood for this bullshit.
Jungkook looks away from you and there's a look of conflict on his face that confirms everything you already know.
"Just go," you whisper, wanting to be alone with your bruised ego and in the mood of having a good cry to release your pent-up frustrations.
Jungkook hesitates.
Don't get him wrong. His hesitation is not about whether he should follow your words or not. Because there's no way, he is leaving your room without having a proper conversation with you. What he does hesitate about is whether it would be okay to take a hold of your arms to move them away so that he can get a view of your face. And so that, hopefully, you see the genuineness in his efforts and somehow trust him to be vulnerable with, for once.
He does not like how frustrated you look. He hates to think that he is the reason behind it, although how he has no idea.
Going against himself and his brain which screams at him, about how this is wrong and how you can have him fired, his fingers curl around your elbow.
But you're as stubborn as he knows you to be. You move away from him and angle your body in the other direction.
He sighs in dejection and can't help the panic that shoots through him. However, he relaxes a bit when he notices that you're unbothered and don't seem uncomfortable at his attempt of moving your arms away.
"Y/N, just talk to me, please." He begs.
His tone is what catches you off guard and makes you look up at him out of pure curiosity. Because never did you think that Jeon Jungkook could sound like that. It's as if your brain wants to make sure that it's the same Jungkook you know, who's now speaking to you in that tone. A tone which makes him sound desperate and dare you say….human?
You have seen Jungkook behave and be like himself with others when he's off duty. But never with you, because he only ever spends time with you when he's on duty.
When you do lock eyes with him, you see the earnestness in them and find your resolve crumbling just in the slightest. How can it not when for the first time, his doe eyes, seem soft and easy to read? They no longer appear to be hard and guarded. Moreover, his eyes are swirling with emotions and it leaves you speechless to think that you might have been the cause of that.
"I don't think you'd like what I have to say," you whisper, more to yourself than to him but Jungkook manages to hear every word crystal clear.
"Let me be the judge of that." He responds to your words without missing a beat. He knows, that whatever it might be can't be worse than you ignoring him.
"What exactly do you want to know?" You query, just to get an idea of what he thinks is going on. Does he think you have feelings for him? Or does he think you were just complaining about him as a bodyguard for not respecting your personal space?
Jungkook looks down and chews on his lips. He does not know how to phrase what exactly he wants to say. He wants to know why you think of him the way you do. But then wouldn't it be too straightforward of a question? Technically, you can have whatsoever personal opinions about your bodyguard. He cannot ask you about it, can he?
Hence, he opts for the safer option. Something, which he thinks, will gradually lead to having the conversation he wants to have.
"I just find it odd that you'd be talking about me of all people and that too with the guy you were on a date with."
Your stomach fills with dread as soon as the words are out of his mouth. This was the question you expected yet hoped that he wouldn't ask. A part of you wants to go back to not responding to his words but the other, much larger, part of you wants to be honest. Because he was being genuine and you have never seen him like this.
"Can you not think of a reason why I could have done that?" You mumble, feeling incredibly nervous. If you could run away, you would but then you probably won't be able to do that either, considering how stiff you feel. Your legs might just be frozen, who knows?
"Did I do something that had you annoyed?" He throws in his assumption. That's the only thing he can think of at the moment, that would have you thinking that he does not care for you. Maybe you thought that him following you around and not leaving you alone as you had expressed you'd like to be, meant that he did not care for you.
"I mean of course, but that is not it." You say, but much to your surprise, the corners of your lips quirk up. He still thinks that you find his presence annoying huh? "Think of some other reason."
There's one that comes to Jungkook's mind but he immediately shoots it down, because there's no way.
Jungkook's eyes widen when another possibility comes to his mind. Maybe Jimin told you all that?
Jimin is a part of your security team and he had always had a hunch about Jungkook's feelings. When Jimin had queried him about it, he had denied it and shot down the idea immediately. He remembers his words being a little harsh but that's because he was so caught off guard. He thought he was doing an excellent job at hiding his feelings but at Jimin's query, he felt threatened and exposed. No matter how much of a sweet guy he knows Jimin to be, he couldn't risk anyone knowing.
However, it doesn't help that Jimin and you are friends.
"Did someone say something about me to you?" His voice comes out in a rush.
You huff, a bit amused at his inability to figure it out by himself. But then you notice how his doe eyes are now wide in panic and although you do not know why he could be panicking, you don't like the idea of him being under stress. "Jungkook, people usually talk like that about their ex but you're not my ex so do the maths."
Instant relief courses through his veins because you did not even frown at his previous question, which means it's not about Jimin blabbering stuff. But his relief soon turns into confusion. If not that then what else could have you saying such stuff about him?
Unbeknownst to him, a pout appears on his lips.
Jungkook is pouting! Is this some parallel universe???? Your mind screams at you, wondering what the fuck are you witnessing.
And if that's not enough he mumbles, "I'm not good at maths."
You can't help the snort that escapes you at his poor attempt at cracking a joke. But as soon as that thought comes to your mind, a much more important realisation dawns upon you. Jungkook just cracked a joke in your presence! When that sinks in, your mouth parts in shock. It doesn't help that there's a tiny little smile that plays on Jungkook's lips and by the looks of it, it's you, he's smiling at.
Let's rewind. Shall we? First, Jungkook pouted. Second, he cracked a joke (a poor one, but still a joke). Third, he is smiling at you. Not one of those 'I'm-your-bodyguard-and-it's-too-serious-of-a-job-for-me-to-smile-genuinely" smiles. It's the smile that you recognise to be Jungkook's. Not that of Jeon Jungkook's, who's your bodyguard.
"Are you feeling any better?" He asks, keeping his tone gentle, noticing that your posture is not as stiff as before.
Wanting to just bask in the moment, you don't reply to him. Instead, you find your guard lowering. Maybe this is what you wanted. An opportunity where Jungkook looks like someone you can be vulnerable with and someone you can confess to. Someone who talks to you as you, and not as a client.
"Jungkook," you say, a bit nervous but also with the understanding that you don't know when you'll feel this comfortable with him, again. "I like you."
Jungkook's world stops when he hears the words leave your mouth. A part of his brain even chastises him for ignoring when the thought, that you might, just might, return his feelings, had popped up.
But now that you have confirmed it and are looking at him like that, Jungkook finds himself being speechless because what the fuck.
The expression on Jungkook's face causes you to chortle.
You had imagined Jungkook being very stoic and professional to your confession. But this is way more adorable than anything you could have ever imagined.
He looks like a kid who's been told that Santa isn't real. But instead of being heartbroken, he looks like the kid who still hasn't processed it yet, and is in shock.
Your laughter causes Jungkook to break out of his thoughts. He tries to speak but his mind has gone completely blank.
"It's okay. I know you don't feel the same," you say with a tender smile because although it hurts, you do feel lighter and somehow find yourself being happy that his reaction isn't as heartbreaking as you'd thought it'd be.
He blinks repetitively as his brain's engine starts, again.
"What the fuck do you mean by I don't feel the same? I've liked you for so long." He exclaims, the moment, your words register.
Now it's your brain which stops working. But when the gravity of his words sinks in, your first reaction is that of denial.
"That can't be true," you whisper, shaking your head.
"What do you mean by that can't be true?" He asks immediately, not understanding where you're coming from.
You let out a breath. "Jungkook, I've spent so much time with you. Never have you behaved like someone who likes me. You have always made sure to remind me that I'm nothing but a client to you."
He sighs, frowning to himself and hating the idea of making you feel like that when you mean so much more to him. "I know I did that. But that's only because I didn't think I had any right to harbour these feelings for you. Especially because I thought that they were unreciprocated. I was always so scared of letting my guard down and letting you have even a small glimpse of my feelings because I thought it'd make you uncomfortable and then you would fire me."
You stay quiet for a moment too long, making Jungkook feel anxious. But then you don't know what to say. After telling yourself what you have, for so long, it's hard to believe in a completely different narration.
"So….you're telling me that all this time, you have felt the same for me?" Those are the words you utter after your mind runs out of logic.
"Yes," he nods with a tiny, sheepish smile on his face that does nothing to hide the fact that he is both anxious and shy at the same time.
"Wow," you say in a whisper with your eyes now wide open.
He groans and brings his hands to run them on his face. "Can you please, tell me what you're thinking? This is scaring the shit out of me."
Your body screams at you to wrap him in a hug to chase his anxiety away. But you're still lingering in disbelief.
"You really like me? As in a romantic way?"
He nods. "More than you can ever imagine."
"Kiss me." The words are out of your mouth before you can think your words through. But astonishingly, that is the only thing you could think of. Because for months, you have imagined what it would feel like to be kissing him and to get to know how those pink lips taste. Now that he admits to having feelings for you, your mind automatically narrows down to finally, finally, getting to kiss him and perhaps, the feeling of his lips is what you need to accept that he does like you the way he claims.
Although that's the last thing Jungkook had expected you to say, he isn't complaining at all. He had secretly dreamed of this for so long.
Inching closer to you, his nose touches yours and he watches in awe as your eyes close in anticipation. The moment his lips crash with yours it's like a huge wave of relief courses through the both of you.
It starts out gentle with both of you tasting the waters and letting your lips mould against each other softly but once they get a little familiar, it turns into a heavy make out session.
As the both of you develop a steady pace and lose yourself in each other, your hands become needier as they roam on his firm chest to get a good feel of his abs. From there, you slowly find your hands moving towards his hair and your tongue lightly teasing Jungkook's bottom lip.
Jungkook sucks in a sharp breath when he feels your tongue grazing against his lip. Fuck, he can't believe this. He opens his mouth and the moment he lets you in, your tongue finds his and he groans into your mouth at how good this feels.
The spell is, however, broken when his palm that was resting on your cheek, glides down a little to hold you by your neck.
"Ouch," you can't help but wince.
Jungkook's eyes snap open at the sound. His brows furrow in confusion before he realises that, mistakenly, he had placed his fingers against the bruise on your neck.
"That fucker," he spits with gritted teeth. The sight of your bruised skin, makes his blood boil and he feels the same anger he felt when he was in the car with you.
"It doesn't hurt that bad," you try to say softly, but your voice comes out uneven due to your breathless state from all the kissing.
Your words have nearly zero effect on the hard frown that is now on his face. So, you gently wipe away the remnant saliva from his lips, hoping that your touch would distract him from the events that transpired a few hours ago.
"That doesn't matter, he hurt you." He grumbles, with an expression that you recognise as disappointment. He is disappointed with himself.
The fact that he feels that way does not sit right with you. After all, it was your fault that you went on the date.
"It's okay, I'm pretty sure it's my fault," before he can retort, you shush him. "However, if you want, you can always kiss it better."
Jungkook takes notice of the mischievous glint in your eyes and finds himself relaxing. He still hates how that man put his hands on you and how he couldn't reach in time. But right now, he wants to enjoy this moment. He wants to forget about everything else and solely focus on you.
Which is why he lets it go.
"Now how can I say no to that?" He replies, with a gentle smirk on his face, which somehow radiates both charm and affection.
A shiver runs down your spine when his lips make contact with your skin and warmth spreads through your whole body when you feel how gentle he is being. His kisses are feather-light so that they don't hurt you. His kisses also happen to be wet, which subsequently, makes you wet.
You moan softly and that sound is enough to have Jungkook's dick twitching in his pants and that's how he knows that he needs to stop before things get any more heated.
Leaving a few more wet kisses he slowly withdraws and when he does, you open your eyes and whine.
Jungkook chuckles at your protest and pecks your lips softly as compensation. "Love, you should take some rest. Today has been a lot for you."
You sigh with a smile but nevertheless, agree with him. "I love how today ended though."
Jungkook can't help but agree. Despite how things started, they ended well and that's all Jungkook could ask for. "I could have never imagined that today would take such a turn."
You hum with a love fool smile on your face. You just can't seem to be able to move your eyes away from his. How can someone be so beautiful?
You take his hand in yours and slot your fingers against his. "Stay the night."
Jungkook's heart skips a beat at your words. Fuck, he's not sure if he'll survive this.
You coo as you notice his cheeks turning red. "Awww, are you blushing? Who would have thought?"
His cheeks get even warmer at being called out. "Are you sure I won't be suffocating you?" He asks with squinted eyes.
"Well, I am a cuddler so chances are I would be the one suffocating you," you pout. "But then, I also never actually felt suffocated by you, so there's no way I would feel suffocated."
"Oh?" Although Jungkook had asked the previous question just to tease you, he feels hugely relieved at your words and is glad to know that his presence isn't suffocating for you.
"Uh uhm, I was too busy making heart eyes at you to ever feel anything else." You say and take an intense amount of pleasure when your words have the desired effect. Jungkook is blushing again. Who knew Jeon Jungkook would be the blushing type?
"Th-That's good to know," he stutters and you find yourself being on the verge of cooing again. "I should go and change by the way."
You chuckle at his adorableness as he gets up in a haste and fumbles his way to the bathroom. How can you miss the chance to tease him one last time before the door closes, though?
"I will tell you more about my 'making-hopeless-heart-eyes' days, once you're out."
The door slams shut in response and you bury your face in a pillow and giggle like a fool.
Officer Kim, half an hour later, when he finds that there's no one on the other side of the video call: 👁️👄👁️
Lmao!
But hey, here's my patreon just in case you enjoy my writing! 😚
