brother, brother - d.w
Paring; dean & sister!reader
Synopsis; John Winchester was never a great father but where he failed someone else stepped up
Warnings; none
Notes; this has been sitting in my drafts for ages omg
masterlist
You smiled at your brother as he appeared beside you, beers in hand. He passed one to you as he took a seat on the bonnet beside you. “Thanks.” You smiled before taking a sip. Your brother nodded before taking a sip of his own drink.
“Remember how dad flipped the first time dad caught you drinking? Man, I think I saw fire in his eyes.” Your brother chuckled turning his head to take at you. “Oh yeah. I think that was the first time I ever faced his wrath.” You joked bumping shoulders with him. “I think I was too drunk to truly care to be completely honest.”
“You were a mess. I spent most of that night awake in case you were sick.” He shook his head. “Then you actually were sick.” He rolled his eyes. You grimaced slightly. “Please don’t remind me,” You took another sip. “Being sick on the floor in front of my younger brother was bad enough. I think I traumatised Sam that day.”
Dean laughed. “Traumatised Sam!? It was me who had to clean it up, missy.” He exclaimed. “And I was very thankful you did.” You joked before looking out into the empty field.
Your childhood was a touchy subject. Something which all three of you chose not to talk about unless necessary. Growing up you’d always known that your home life was less than normal, that your dad never acted in the way you saw dad’s on the TV act.
As you’d grown up you’d simply come to the conclusion that maybe John Winchester was never meant to be a dad, sure for the first two years of your life he’d played the part but even then you knew it wasn’t perfect.
“You look like you're thinking quite hard there, you okay?” Dean bumped his shoulder with you drawing you back into the present. “I’m fine, just thinking…” You trailed off looking down at the drink in your hands. You felt your brother wrap an arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer.
You both fell back into a comfortable silence for a moment before you turned your head to face him “You were more of a father to me than he ever was,” You smiled at your brother “Just so you know.”
Dean pressed a kiss to your forehead before resting his head on top of yours.

In The Lonely Shadows (2/2) Dean W.
Summary: Crowely's always there to help convince you everything's going to be okay after Dean leaves with Lisa & Ben.
the first part of this was requested by my beloved wife @midnight-moonlight-and-mars sometime back in March.
Request: I've got a Crowley request! It can be platonic or romantic. It takes place the year Sam is resurrected and dean is living with Lisa. The reader was close with the Winchesters but after the fight with Lucifer dean abandoned the reader to be with Lisa and cas never answers ( unrequited love maybe?) so the reader teams up with Crowley and becomes like a bounty hunter for him for Lucifer loyalists.
A/N: It's technically not Crowley x reader since she's pining for Dean. Oops, but I hope you enjoy this all the same, my love.
A/N #2: people were rabid about asking me for a part two. So please, enjoy!
WC: 1.7K
Warnings: mentions of loneliness, and blood, the reader feels abandoned and unloved, crowley’s nice, dean returns. sassy & protective crowley
[READ PART ONE HERE]
Read on Ao3!
--
Dean watched as your chest heaved up and down with every breath you took. The wind was howling outside, with rain pouring down. He was only partially soaked, having run for cover under teh pitiful awning above your hotel door. A suitcase was tucked into one hand and a backpack filled with supplies slung over the shoulder. He'd wanted to say goodbye before he left. But he couldn't. He was a coward, after all. He'd had a few visits from Castiel and Crowley, neither of them saying a word about you.
Though, he asked. He hasn’t spoken a word about Sam, either. The horror of watching Sam fall into the pits of Hell with Adam devastated him. So he ran away. He ran away to the person who would get him away from the hunter’s life, Lisa and Ben. He played pretend for as long as he possibly could.
Until he couldn’t keep up with the facade anymore. All he did was think about you, and the life the pair of you could have had. He’d find himself hovering over your name in his cellphone but never pressing the call button. Oftentimes, he’s stay up late at night, while Lisa laid peacefully next to him sleeping. He knew he couldn’t lie to her forever about what - or who - truly had his heart.
Oftentimes, when he dreamed, it was about you, your face and your hands wrapped tightly in his as you started behind him on hunts. Thats what he loved about you the most, how much you trusted him to protect you.
So months after he departed, he located you in this dingy motel, where rodents and garbage littered the parking lot, and a few street lamps flickered dangerously in this damned storm. He’d gotten a replacement key to your room, claiming to the sketchy old man at the kiosk that he was your husband and you didn’t leave the key outside for him. So, on the threshold of the hotel room is where he stood, his fight or flight response kicking in the moment he laid eyes on you again.
He hadn’t seen you in months, far too long. But not long enough to forget the way your cheeks puffed out while you were embarrassed or the way your hair always fell into your face when you’d laugh at his stupid jokes. He couldn’t forget the way you would shuffle into his warmth at night, either.
God, did he miss the way you infected all of his clothing with your perfumes.
He hesitantly stepped into the room, only to stop midway through in almost a panic. What if you moved on? What if you didn’t want to see him? What if you shot him? He wondered at that moment if you held any protection on you, or if you’d thrown all of it away.
But he took the chance anyway and stepped fully into the room, closing the door behind him quietly. He quietly toed out of his shoes and turned around before fully surveying the room. He couldn’t see any other person’s belongings in the room, so he assumed you were indeed alone.
Nervously, he tiptoed to the bed and studied your face for a long moment. He remembered everything about you-- your eyelashes, the dimple on your cheek. He wanted to reach out to you, nearly stopping himself as he felt his arm move without his command. He brushed his fingers against your cheek before he knew what he was doing and stepped back as your eyes had flung open in terror.
“Y/N,Y/N, it’s me, it’s Dean,” he said, reaching behind him for the pistol he always carried with him, though, he would never attempt to hurt you in any sort of way. “Hey, hey.”
“Dean?” you blinked through the darkness of the room. You must have been sleeping. Because you thought you heard Dean’s voice. And you thought you seen him standing mere inches away from where you slept on the bed.
Before he could get the chance to respond, another voice filled the room, a voice you’d come to recognize and acknowledge throughout these last few months.
“She doesn’t need you, Squirrel. She’s doing great without you.” Crowley’s voice echoed in the small room.
Pulling yourself into a sitting position on the bed, you wiped at your eyes before switching your gaze between the pair in front of you. Crowley had been watching you over the weeks, which you had grown weirdly accustomed to, so it was no surprise that he had appeared out of the blue. What had startle you, was the other man standing mere inches away from you. If you just lifted your arm a few inches, you would be able to clasp your hands together.
“You left her high and dry after Moose had fallen into the depths of Hell, where, mind you, he’s been shacking it up with Lucifer. You should hear the agonies and woes from him.”
You could see the agitated twitch in Dean’s cheekbones, even in the poor excuse of light shining through the cracked window curtains.
“But now, back to the matter at hand, hmm?” Crowley snapped his fingers, and the two-night lamps turned on, casting the room in sudden brightness that none of you was prepared for.
“How’s Lisa and Ben?” Crowley smirked as Dean looked entirely uncomfortable at the jabs. “Didn’t want to be a family man anymore, huh? Did she decide she didn’t want your baggage?”
“It’s none of your business, Crowley,” Dean quipped. He snuck a look towards you and almost melted at the sight of tears in your eyelids. He wanted to erase the heartbreak he had caused you. He wanted to erase the pain away from you.
He only wanted you to forgive him. He wanted you and only you. He wished he hadn’t run off after Sam had gone to Hell, but he was broken and insecure. He was scared that you would leave him as well, so he did the only thing he could think of doing at the time: He ran away.
He begged for Lisa to forgive him, and she did. She took him in immediately, even after he explained all that went down with Lucifer and Adam and Sam. She took care of him. And for a while, he could forget all the pain. He could mourn the loss of his brother in peace. But there had always been a hole in his heart that Lisa nor ben would veer be able to fill.
He hadn’t known it at the time until he had sat up the night before and wallowed in misery after having nothing but dreams and nightmares about you for months.
“No harsh words, Not Moose?” Crowley taunted as he took a step toward you, causing Dean to nearly topple backwards onto the bed you were still sitting on. “No quips? Nothing? What do you have to say for yourself? Because while you were playing house, I was left to pick up the piece of her broken heart! How noble of you. Leave her behind to wallow in misery, and now what? You expect her to swoon because you're back? Pathetic."”
You never thought you would see the day when the king of hell would be red in the face at the Winchesters. But here he was, pointing a threatening finger in Dean’s direction while the other man looked like a kicked puppy.
You wanted Crowley to stop the insults at Dean. But the fact that he was protecting you in this way meant so much to you. You never knew how much Crowley actually cared about you.
"I bet she’s just thrilled to have you back. Nothing says 'I care' like a good old-fashioned abandonment, right?" Crowley scoffed.
“Crowley, enough,” you sighed as you finally pushed the duvet away from your body and stood up, causing Dean to look at you with hope. With your request, Crowley quieted down, though he didn’t cease the glare or scowl on his features. Ignoring him, you took a breath, taking Dean’s height in stride. “So, what? You show up at my doorstep and nearly scare me to death, for what?”
“I was wrong,” Dean swallowed, blinking slowly as tears piled against his eyelids. “I never should have left you the way i had. You were mourning Sam as well, and I was a coward for leaving you. I never once stopped thinking about you. I never once let you out of my mind. Lisa knew it, Ben knew it.’
“I’m not forgiving you, Dean.” you held your ground, even as you had to wipe the tears away from your cheeks. “How could I forgive you? Do you know what the hell I’ve been through? You weren’t the only one to lose a brother, you know? Sam was my family as well.”
He opened his mouth, only for you to cut him off.
“It’s been fourteen months, Dean—fourteen long, terrible months. I celebrated Sam’s birthday without you. I celebrated your birthday without you. Crowley was the only one to check with me. Do you know he saved me from death on numerous occasions? That could have been you.”
He looked utterly defeated at the mention of the birthday celebrations. He could only imagine you singing to yourself with some cheap cake and a gas station lighter, wishing for the family you once held as you blew out the candles.
“Dean, I don’t know whether to hit you, kiss you, or put a bullet in you.” you scowled, pushing past him to walk over to the bathroom to wash your face. Leaving the door open, you heard Dean shuffle around Crowley to get to you again.
“I can’t leave you, not again. Never again,” he watched your reflection as you grabbed for a hand towel and wiped the water from your face.
Glaring at him momentarily, you sighed heavily before turning around and leaning against the counter. “Crowley will kill me for this. But I can’t help but think that I’m still in love with you. We can talk more about this in the morning. I had a long few weeks, and I’m absolutely exhausted.”
Eagerly, Dean followed you out of the bathroom, barely noticing Crowley’s absence as he tucked you into the bed before he climbed in himself.

Summary : Your phone dies just when you lied to your father about where you are. How does he react when he finds you?
Warnings : Being chased by somebody
A/N : woo woo! First Beau fic, thanks to @dreamerbouquet 🪷🪷 alsooooooooo, i'm so angry at how my writing is so repetitive yall 😭 i hate it i need a change.
-------
-- Your phone dies before you get to send that last text..
Fucking hell. You just lied too-you weren't right...quite on Ousel Falls, you're still in the woods near by, limping your way out as you dragged your bicycle through the mud.
You SOMEHOW trip over something and fly forward, landing over a broken branch that brushes your skin just enough to remove it.
Fuckking hell..
Thankfully, you know your way through the vast space and so you walk...and walk, spinning around when a creaking sounds behind you..."Hello?" You say, frantically looking around. Dear god...
Another creak sounds and a figure appears from afar, seemingly running towards you. A gasp escapes your lips and you push away the bicycle before spriting forward, in spite of your aching foot. You run and hop over branches, looking over your shoulder at the person running after you.
You didn't have time to back down, you thought of your father, what he'd do-Thankfully you're only a little under a mile away from the entrance of the woods, and so your feet spring faster-and as you look back once more, you bump into something-which you push away.
"N-No." You push agaisnt it-
"I'ts me, it's me-it's dad."
"We have to go they're com-"
"Calm down, calm down honey-it's just a bunch of kids" Your dad shakes your body gently, leaning close to you to get your attention. "They ran away already, just a bunch of kids."
You take a breather, processing as your heatbeat starts slowing down...
"Come here." He says, pulling you into his chest, one hand envelopping your back and the other resting over the back of your head. "Dear god...you scared me-i thought-" He shut himself up, proceeding with a long sigh.
You pull away from him, biting your lip in an attempt to dtop your quivering chin. "I'm sorry...i-" a sob escapes your throat and you lean back into his chest- Relief has finally hit you and your muscles relaxed... "i'm sorry i didn't mean to scare you-or for my phone to die i-"
He interrupts you, pulling you away firmly. And when your eyes meet, a wave of emotions travels through his eyes. He looks worried and sad and relieved and angry, all of which overwhelm you.
"What did i say about going to the woods alone?" His voice is firm. But the tenderness in his furrowed eyebrows isn't. "What did i say about that?" He demands a response and you just don't have one.
"I-i m-i don't know-I I didn't take it that seriously-" you stop yourself, hell..you just exposed yourself-you shouldn't have.. "i'm sorry."
Your dad rubs your back "It's okay.." He rests his chin over your head, temporarily planting kisses on it.
"It's okay...i'm here now." Your dad reassures you one last time before stepping back. "Do we need to go to the hospital?" He kneels down when his attention lands on your bleeding leg.
"No, no need for that." You reassure him back, staggering back when he held your leg up a little high. You rested your hand on his shoulder, balancing yourself. "I'm okkay."
You're not-You wince as your father examines what turns out to be an open cut.
"Can you walk?"
You roll your eyes. "Dad, it's not that serious it's just a c-"
"Can you or can you not?" He cuts you off.
"I caaaan..." You groan in annoyance. It's a lie but-he's already tired enough
"Okay....let's go then. If i notice you're limping i'm carrying you back." He orders and a smile appears on your face.
"Okay" You can't fight that. "Thank you."
"I'm...i'm just glad you're okay, honey."

“Everything is… disturbingly clean.”
Ben watched Cocksucker and Butcher in the living room, the former looking around in shock as the latter’s gaze bounced between Ben and Her with a half grin.
“Don’t tell me you two started bloody fucking,” he jeered, and Ben didn’t appreciate the speed at which She scoffed.
“Not everyone only thinks with their downstairs brain, Butcher.” She said with an eye roll. “We’re not children you had to put in a time out until we could play nice, we’re adults who found a common ground.”
“The common ground of fucking?” Butcher’s grin spread widely across his face. At the deepening of her glare, he raised his hands in mock surrender. “I don’t doubt you, Love, it’s Soldier Boy who can’t damn well breathe without his dick in something.”
Ben opened his mouth to defend himself, but She somehow beat him to the draw. “Well, Ben’s down to only trying to fuck me twice a day, and it’s the small victories like that which have kept us from killing each other.”
“Ben?” Cocksucker looked between them in befuddled horror. “Since when do you call him Ben?!”
She returned Cocksucker’s stare with a flat look Ben had seen many times and was glad to not currently be on the receiving end of. “It’s his name. I can’t say ‘Soldier Boy’ all the time, that’s a fucking mouthful.”
“Fuck yeah, it is.” Ben winked at Her, a cocky grin spreading across his face as he was met with only an eye roll.
Butcher chuckled, giving Her an amused smirk. “Not fucking, my puckered arsehole.” He paused, his teeth showing as his delight in his own words grew. “Or should I say, your puckered arsehole?”
Cocksucker choked on air. “I’m going to be sick.”
“If he throws up on the carpet, you can not make me clean it, Sunshine.” Ben snapped, eyeing Cocksucker with a grimace. “His weak, pussy stomach ain’t my problem.”
“Oh, I’m sure there’s been worse messes in this room.” Butcher wiggled his eyebrows, and Cocksucker gagged again.
“There’s not much left after to clean,” Ben said with another smug look, unable to find it in him to care how his words fueled the accusations She so clearly wanted to rebuff. She’d live, and all the bitchiness she wielded like a weapon would hopefully circle around into admitting the clear attraction he knew she felt.
“What, you all dried up after forty years asleep?” Butcher sneered.
Ben scowled, taking a rough step in the man’s direction, the drum in his chest abruptly sounding in the distance of his ears. “You want to say that to my fucking face? I’ll show you how dried up I am—fuck!“ He lurched back as he felt a sharp sting on his arm.
She appeared at the side of Ben’s vision, Her fingers still smoking as she pointed at Butcher. “You. Never, ever make me visualize that again.” She scrunched her face in dramatic disgust. “And you.” She turned the finger to Ben. “He did ‘say it to your face’, stop being such a fucking baby. And both of you need to repeat everything you think in your head before you say it. We get it, your dicks are both huge, either suck each other off or put them away.”
“I second that,” Cocksucker mumbled, residual nausea on his face. “The shutting up thing, not the other part.”
“Thank you, Hughie. Now.” She gave Butcher a titled-head frown. “What’s the mission.”
“Don’t have to be a mission, Love, we could just be checking up on our two favorite-“
“Shut up,” She snapped. “Nobody has come to visit in two and a half weeks. And then, just after the news about Sister Sage, you two are suddenly, and I’m sure completely coincidentally, in our living room. So, what’s the mission?”
“How do you know about Sage?” Cocksucker, matching the surprise on Butcher’s face, asked.
“I have a phone, dummy.”
Ben looked around the room, trying to figure out where She could’ve possibly hidden a phone from him. “No, we fucking don’t.” He narrowed his eyes at Her, suspicion building in his chest as anger clouded his head. “Have you been fucking leaving without me?”
“When would I even have the time to leave without you?” She snapped.
“When you go to the fucking bathroom all the damn time for no fucking reason. If you’ve been lying to me-“
“Jesus Christ, I was on my period the past week. You can come do an inspection of the toilet bowl next time if it’s that important to you.”
“Fucking,” Butcher faked coughed to poorly cover his words. Ben was sure a deaf baby would’ve still have understood them, and She certainly did.
“Can it,” She shot at Butcher before turning back to Ben. “Phones aren’t big blocks on walls anymore, grampa, they look like this.” She pulled out a weird black rectangle and waved it in his face. “And you’ve definitely seen one before, dumbass.”
If Ben thought back, admittedly not even that hard, he had. Cocksucker and Butcher had both used them the first time around, he’d spotted them in the shows and movies he had been making their way through at Her direction, and even seen Her using the one invading his personal space at that very moment. However, he’d known he’d eat a fucking whale dick before he asked Her what they were then, in the exact same way he was now going have to pretend that She was the stupid one trying to pull one over on him.
“I think I remember if I’d seen something that fucking dumb looking, Sunshine.” She just glared at him and turned away, so Ben decided to count that as a him victory.
“If one of you doesn’t tell me what the plan is now-“
“Don’t get your panties in a twist, Love, we’re getting there. Hughie?”
“Gross,” Cocksucker muttered, his scrunched face of disgust turning into shock as Butcher pushed him forward. “What! Why me?”
“You use all those posh fancy words, mate.”
“He hates me!” Cocksucker gestured to Ben, before saying Her name in a pathetically begging tone. “He made you do it last time, right?! Tell Butcher he doesn’t fucking listen to me!”
Ben grinned as She gave Cocksucker one of the most half-assed apologetic looks Ben had ever seen. “I mean, he doesn’t. But I wouldn’t call him Butcher’s biggest fan either.”
“I’m right fucking here,” Ben grumbled. “I can speak for my damn fucking self.”
She gave him a sarcastic, simpering smile. “Ben, do you like Hughie, or Butcher? Is one prettier? Would one of them talking be better than the other?”
“No, they’re both ugly, pussy ass idiots who sound just as fucking boring as their pussy ass counterpart.”
“Who’s acting like who’s not here now?”
“We don’t sound the same at all…”
She ignored Butcher’s snark and Cocksucker’s weak protest. “Lovely. So if someone could answer my fucking question, that would be great. I, personally, couldn’t give a flying fuck who.”
Cocksucker sighed. “What did you read about the Sister Sage situation?”
“Is someone going to tell me who ‘Sister Sage’ is?” Ben grunted, giving Her an expectant look. Right now his best guess was some nun with plant-based powers, and he couldn’t think of a damn way that would be helpful.
“She's a supe whose power is intelligence. She’s the smartest person in the world, and a member of Homelander’s team.” She wrinkled her nose. “Well, she was. She got fired. I saw Vought’s press release about ‘creative differences’, but it’s painfully obvious bullshit. She made one appearance on TV where she spoke five words, most of the time she’d just hovering behind Homelander looking mad.”
“Yeah, we think she made Homelander upset somehow, which isn't hard to do, so he cut her loose.” Cocksucker nodded. “Either way, we want to try and talk to her. Flip her. Or-“
“Uncle Sam here is going to neutralize her.” Butcher spoke over Cocksucker with a smirk at Ben.
“Neutralize?” She looked between them with wide eyes. “Neutralize as in kill, or neutralize as in remove her powers?”
Butcher winked. “We’ll see where the night takes us. You two have fifteen to get ready, chop chop.”
She began to make her way up the stairs, but Ben remained firmly where he stood, glaring his best daggers at Butcher. “You better have brought my fucking shield this time.”
“What, you going to start crying if we didn’t?” Butcher jeered, and before Ben could move to punch him in the face, Cocksucker piped up from the side.
“Annie and MM are getting it now, they’ll meet us there.”
Butcher grunted in annoyance at Cocksucker’s affirming words, but Ben ignored it and turned to examine Cocksucker’s increasingly pallid face. His heartbeat was rising, yes, but it didn’t seem to be because he was lying, more likely the pussyfuck was just afraid. “Good,” Ben grunted, pausing to listen for a relieved stutter in Cocksucker’s chest. At the sound, Ben turned and marched up the stairs.
He wasn’t sure how it had happened, because he certainly hadn’t done it, but Ben’s suit had been cleaned of the dust and dirt from its last use. It was folded semi-neatly in his dresser, on top of underwear and socks. It was a quick change, he remembered being incredibly instant to the designer all those years ago that any needless, bullshit complications would lead to a forcerful reiterment and be fixed by their replacement, and made his way down the hall to Her door. He paused, unsure of if he should knock or simply walk in. He’d never knocked before, and She’d never bitched at him about it, but she’d also made it incredibly clear that, if he saw her naked, she’d “claw out his eyes like Jesus”. He’d asked for elaboration, in a way he thought had been quite fucking polite, and She’d left the room only to return a minute later with a copy of the Bible that was hurled at his head. Ben had not bothered to read it, but he quite liked his eyes, as did most women, so he had no interest in losing them to one impressively violent and crude one. However, knocking was also plain fucking stupid. As such he found himself just standing at the door, all the way until She opened the door and jumped back at the sight of him.
“Fuck, Ben, you scared me.” She’d placed a hand over her chest, fucking over dramatically if you asked Ben, and stared up at him. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” he muttered. “I was just waiting for you.” And he fucking had been. Originally, the plan that had brought him here was to make fun of Her for clearly cleaning his suit and certainly going through his underwear drawer, now it just felt fucking stupid. She’d just caught him standing outside her room, she had too much ammunition to use against him now.
She tilted her head at him, giving Ben a look he didn’t understand or like, but just nodded. “Well, I’m ready. We should go.”
He nodded, stepping aside for her to pass him. She blinked at him a moment before doing such, and only after she was starting down the stairs did it occur to him that he’d let her go first. She hadn’t even asked. But she would’ve, he reasoned. He’d just been saving the headache of Her whining about it. Really, it had been a calculated move from his subconscious, which hated her finding every nerve of Ben’s to get on just as much as the rest of him.
Butcher and Cocksucker were right where they’d left them when Ben reached the bottom of the stairs, and She made her way to Ben’s side as they exited the safe house. Her body was less rigid and alert than last time, her heart almost perfectly calm, and though her eyes didn’t once leave him, she wasn’t vigilantly scanning his every twitch as they walked to the car. Even this car ride was more relaxed than the last, with Butcher not checking on them every damn second in the mirror, Cocksucker looking less like he was about to shit his damn pants, and Her body comfortably in the seat and not curled into the door. Ben appreciated that it was a real, windowed car this time, because that stupid fucking van had been deafening and fucking stuffy and boring to sit in. This satisfaction was squashed almost immediately when they pulled up to a warehouse that looked one fucking well-placed shit from collapsing, and Ben saw that same stupid fucking van parked beside where they stopped.
The back doors were open, and Ben could hear four moderately steady heartbeats from inside it. As they unloaded out of the car and made their way to join the others, Ben watched Her out of the corner of his eye, hearing the telltale warning sign of gnawing on lips and tapping of fingers in rhythmic movements. He’d noticed last week, then had his suspicion confirmed during their fight a few nights ago, that all her rapid, tense tapping was still controlled, always following the same pattern. For the fucking life of him, Ben couldn’t figure out what the pattern was, but he knew it existed, and it always went hand in hand with glassy eyes. Sure enough, when he turned to fully look at Her, clouds were forming behind her gaze, which had itself gone slightly slack. But before Ben could grab Her, ask her what the fucking problem was, if it was something he needed to worry about, She’d walked past him to sit beside beside the small, Asian woman he’d seen several times before. The woman smiled at Her, and she returned it without hesitation. She said a name, Kimiko, in a soft, kind voice Ben had never heard and though Kimiko didn’t say anything—thinking about it Ben hadn’t heard her speak once—the tapping slowed to a halt as they began a weird half-conversation with a lot of confusing fucking gestures.
Ben glanced around the van, looking for his fucking shield. When he didn’t see it, he turned to glare at Butcher, who’d moved to talk to MM.
“Hey!” Ben pushed himself into their conversation, ignoring their whiny glares. “You promised my fucking shield.”
Butcher rolled his eyes. “Technically, Hughie promised it.”
“Where is it.”
“Calm the fuck down, Gov, I’m sure it’s here somewhere. MM, would you give the giant cunt his stupid shield?”
“Nope.”
Ben’s head whipped to glare at the man, who wasn’t even fucking acknowledging him. “Give me my fucking shield.”
“Can’t,” MM said, meeting Ben’s glare with an angry, cold one of his own. “Didn’t fucking bring it.”
“I was promised I’d get my shield back. If you pussies can’t get it, I’m certain I could fine someone who will.” Ben threatened, the drums starting to sound once more. “I don’t have to put up with bullshit-“
“Yeah, you do,” Her voice called from behind him.
Ben turned to look at her, and saw Butcher and MM do the same.
“This doesn’t concern you, Sunshine.” Ben snapped.
She just shrugged. “You want a private conversation? Lower your fucking voice. And I feel like any conversation where you start saying you’re going to leave does concern me, because I’m the one that’s going to have to smite your face when you try. And that’s just going to be a fucking bummer.”
“My face too nice to burn?” He taunted, barely noticing the fade of the pounding against his chest.
“No, I just would have to fill out a fuck ton of dogshit CIA paperwork after. So just suck up being away from your blankie for another week, and sit the hell down.”
“I don’t have a fucking blankie,” Ben scowled at Her, but she only smiled back at him and returned her attention to Kimiko.
“You heard her,” Butcher sneered from behind him. “Listen to your mommy and sit the fuck down.”
“Don’t make it weird, Butcher.” She called, not looking back at them for a second.
Ben turned to give Butcher one last, venomous glower. “If I don’t get my fucking shield next time, we’re going to have a fucking problem.”
“We’ll get you your shield, Gov, don’t loose your damn mind.”
Ben grunted, turning to take the seat next to Her, but carefully listened to Butcher and MM’s hushed whispers as he moved.
“Bloody hell, MM, you had one fucking job.”
“I am not helping him, Butcher. Don’t send me to do your damn dirty work.”
Butcher scoffed. “I’ve had you do much dirtier work, mate. This was a fucking cake walk, and you still fucked it up.”
“I’m going to tell you one last time, and it better get through your thick, dumbass head. I am not doing anything, fucking anything, for that racist piece of shit.”
Ben opened his mouth, subtle eavesdropping was a fucking overrated pussy move anyways, to defend himself. Collateral damage fucking happened, it wasn’t his fucking fault Vought was always sending him-
“What’s the big deal with the shield?” He heard Starlight mutter behind him, a question clearly addressed to Cocksucker.
“Dunno, but he was really weird about it last time, almost threw me out a window cause I touched it-“
“I can fucking hear you,” Ben twisted roughly to face them. “What is it with you pussies and pretending I’m fucking deaf?”
Starlight sighed, giving him an annoyed glare, as Cocksucker responded weakly.
“We just, we don’t think you want to talk to us-“
“Shut the fuck up,” Ben grunted.
“Don’t talk to him like that!” Starlight’s eyes started to glow, and Ben rolled his own in response.
“Fucking try it, Bitch, I’ll blow you back to Vought. If you have a question, fucking ask it.”
“Fine,” Starlight held Ben’s anger with her own. “What’s the big deal with your shield? Are you compensating? Do you get performance issues without it?”
“Annie,” Cocksucker’s heart had picked up, and he was grabbing Starlight’s arm tightly. “Don’t make him mad.”
A thousand, perfect insults pushed against Ben’s head. Fucking amazing hits that would have Starlight crying to Cocksucker for weeks. But he could hear Her heartbeat behind him, stuttering for only a second as she listened to the argument. He heard that rhythmic tapping again, and so he pushed the words down, and gave Starlight a taunting sneer.
“Listen to your little cocksucker.” Ben taunted. “I’ll let it fucking go this time, because I’m feeling fucking generous. But next time? I kill both of you pussies.”
Ben turned away, and once his back was fully to them, he pulled out the crumpled list that now always sat in his pocket, trying to figure out if She had added “broad” at any point. While the bottom was filled with Ben’s own scratchy, hastily written additions, the top to middle of the paper was written in her neat, clipped handwriting, and close to the top was the sentence loose broad with the doll face - Buttercup from the Princess Bride??? Ben frowned at it—why couldn’t She have underlined the word—and leaned to the side, nudging Her shoulder with his own. When she didn’t turn from her soft conversation with Kimiko—how She could possibly be so invested in a conversation with a woman Ben was pretty fucking sure was mute was beyond him—Ben shoved it under her face.
Her voice died off, hands pausing mid-air, and she slowly turned to stare at him. “What are you doing.”
He pointed roughly to the sentence. “What does that mean?”
She squinted, grabbing it from him to hold closer to her eyes. “I was probably confused why you’d call Buttercup that. She’s famously not loose for like, the whole story-“
“No,” he tugged it back. “Why did you write that sentence down? What’s so bad about ‘loose broad with the doll face’?”
Her lips quirked up. “That’s what’s so urgent?”
“Is it loose, or broad?” He ignored her amusement.
“I think both together. Loose isn’t great, but I’d be lying if I said I never called my mother loose. Broad is just…” She frowned. “I don’t think I’ve heard the word ‘broad’ out the mouth from anyone who doesn’t have an active memory of at least one world war.”
“So broad is fine?”
“If you want to sound a thousand, sure. I’ve definitely heard you say worse.”
Ignoring the age jab, Ben locked and loaded his next insult for Starlight. He would let the “compensating” comment go, he was forgiving like that, but there was no fucking way she wouldn’t say something else soon. And he’d be fucking ready for it. He shoved the list back into his pants, where it had stayed since he first caught Her using it. At first it had been going to take a one way ticket down the toilet, but then he’d noticed how when he used those words on the paper, She’d frown and not talk to him for a damn hour. It was a fucking annoying, inconvenient, bitch move because during that time she wouldn’t laugh at his jokes or tell him how stupid modern technology in movies worked or bombard him with annoying comments that made him want to grab Her pretty, taunting, insufferable face and teach her some manners. She’d just be quiet and mad, and it was like he was alone, and suddenly he would hear the drum. So he’d kept the list and, whenever he noticed the bitter silence showing its ugly head, he’d write down what coxed it out. Eventually She’d noticed, and started to help him. If it hadn’t proved an effective strategy to keep her off his ass about stupid fucking shit, he’d have lied up, down, and sideways about keeping it. But they hadn’t had any of those moments he’d grown to detest since she had, so he’d kept in his bitterness about the stupidity of the whole thing in check and counted this a win.
“Look alive, fuckers.” Ben looked up as MM stood, one of those alleged “phones” in hand. “Sage will be here in five minutes. She’s agreed to meet me, Starlight, and Hughie. Frenchie and Kimiko, I want y’all outside, nearby, and ready in case she’s pulling one over. Butcher, go home.”
“Nah, mate. I’m a part of this, Mallory said so. Could make me go home if you tickled my balls and topped me off.”
“Well, then you’re going to have to stay in here.” MM turned as he said Her name. “You’re staying in here with Soldier Boy. If we need you, you’ll hear the signal.”
She hummed in acknowledgment. “What’s the signal?”
“The Deep’s massive tits.” MM gave a tired exhale as Her mouth fell open in amusement. “Frenchie made the signal. Make sure they,” both Ben and Butcher receive rough jabs in their direction. “Don’t fuck this up.”
Before either Ben or Butcher, whose mouth and protesting words had somehow begun faster than Ben’s own, could argue, MM was following the rest of the already mobilized team out of the van, and the doors were slammed behind him.
Tense, angry silence was in the air for only a minute before Butcher spoke.
“Now that everyone’s gone, will you two admit you’re fucking?”
Her heartbeat picked up slightly, and Ben leered at Butcher.
“Watch it, Dick Van Dyke, I’ll cut your fucking face off.” From beside him, Ben heard Her snort. “What do you find so funny?”
Ignoring his angry look, She gave another small giggle. “I don’t think that insult is as good as you think, Ben.”
“It was a fucking amazing insult-“
“Dick Van Dyke is American.”
“No, he was in all those stupid fucking British movies, like that one about the magic fucking nanny-“
“You’ve watched Mary Poppins?” Butcher laughed, and Ben considered ripping off his lips and feeding them to him. One bitchy, melodramatic woman who constantly cut off his words was more than enough. He didn’t need another fucking asshole, whose comments were not nearly as unwelcomingly entertaining, doing the same.
“Only because your hound dog bitch threatened to burn off my fucking dick if I didn’t.” Ben grumbled, and She gave another laugh.
“You enjoyed it, you cunt. And you told me a story about how you met Dick Van Dyke in the 60s. When he was, as he is now, incredibly American.”
“Sunshine, are you going to let me defend your honor or not?”
“My honor?” She gave him a face of giddy disbelief. “What the fuck are you talking about?”
“He said we’re fucking!” Ben waved wildly at Butcher. “I’m not going to let him talk about a lady like that-“
“You literally goaded him on barely an hour ago. And called me a ‘hound dog bitch’ like, five seconds ago.” She pointed out. “Even if that wasn’t true, you’d have a whole lot of misplaced faith that I have ‘honor’ to begin with.”
“I don’t think you’d know honor if it ate you out ass to cunt.” Butcher made an exaggerated face of thought, and was met with only a flat look.
“So taint? Ass to cunt as in taint?” Her voice was bored, arms crossed in front of her chest.
Butcher shrugged. “No lady with honor knows the word taint.”
“Then we’re lucky I lost the title of ‘lady’ years ago,” She said with a toothy, fake smile. “And you,” a glare was shot at Ben. “Are not helping the ‘we’re fucking’ allegations by defending my honor, dumbass.”
He wasn’t, he knew that. But her heartbeat had settled, no longer clawing into Ben’s brain, so he just grunted. “Fuck me for trying to help.”
“I won’t,” she smirked. “That’s the whole point.”
“Bitch.”
“Cunt. Butcher,” She turned away from Ben once more. “What time did MM say Sage would arrive?”
“He didn’t.” Butcher answered, making an angry face at the closed door. “Something about not trusting us to stay here.”
Just then, Ben’s careful ear on Her heartbeat, which had slowed fully in the past minutes, was distracted by steps, followed by voices.
“I’m glad you agreed to meet us.” A man’s voice, too low to be Cocksucker, had to be MM.
“Well, even though I know what you’re going to say, I’m still intrigued by how you plan to say it.” Ben didn’t recognize that one. It sounded calm and controlled like Hers usually was, but only had the edge of anger. Her voice was always lined with vague amusement, at everything all the time. This woman didn’t sound like it was capable of laughter, even mockingly.
“Well, if you know what we’re going to say, can you just tell us your answer now?” That one was self-righteous and insufferable. Starlight.
“No.”
“Is that… your answer to what we’re going to say or whether or not you’ll tell us now?” Unsure, nervous, pathetic. Cocksucker.
“The later. I’m not going to tell you the answer until everyone joins us. Do you think I’m fucking-“
“Ben?” A pair of fingers snapped in his face.
Eyes refocusing, Ben realized She had moved so he was face-to-face with her concerned glare and frown watching him carefully.
“If that cunt fucking blows his bloody lid, I’m going outside, MM can suck my-“
Ben scowled at Butcher over Her shoulder. “I’m not going to fucking explode. I have a fucking handle on it-“ She gave Ben an incredulous look that he ignored. “And I’m trying to listen, so shut the fuck up so I can listen to what those pussies out there are saying.”
“You can hear them?” She dropped back to her seat, leaning forward with an intent stare. “What are they talking about?”
“I could tell you if you would shut the fuck up.” He grunted, and she rolled her eyes but didn’t move back. Ben paused, no longer hearing voices at all. “They moved.”
Butcher pushed off the wall. “What do you mean they moved? The fuck did they go?”
“I can’t tell you if you don’t shut-“
The door of the van was pulled open, and Ben jumped to his feet, hearing Her heartbeat start to rise as she did the same. But, instead of the blood and chaos Ben expected, was ready for, a short woman with a gleam in her dark eyes stood on the other side.
“Butcher, you look just as shitty as I expected. Should’ve listened to MM about staying behind.” Her voice was the cold, methodical one. Ben hated it, and hated how it matched her smug, stone-like face.
“If you’re as smart as you claim to be, Sister, you should know I do what I bloody want.” Butcher gave the woman a hateful, mocking smile.
She just gave a small nod back. “Well, I am ‘as smart as I claim to be’, and you are ‘doing what you want’. Reliable as always, William.” Her gaze turned to Ben. “I can’t say I’m surprised to see you, Soldier Boy. I knew they would be going for some sort of Hail Mary, and even though I was hoping for something more intelligent, maybe flipping Neuman, this will work fine. And you…” Her voice trailed, and a disarming smile grew across her face. “I don’t know you. I know everybody.”
Behind Ben, Her heartbeat was like thunder. “Glad to be an exception to such a weird and creepy rule.”
“Who are you? No, wait.” Sage titled her head. “I want to guess.”
The tapping had begun, and the drums had started their march from Ben’s chest to his head.
“You’re not Butcher’s friend, he doesn’t have any. You’re not CIA… not Vought. Not with Nueman, she wouldn’t be that stupid. I’ve seen pictures of all the supervillains Homelander tried to make, and-“ A first, true smile split across Sage’s face just as Her heartbeat became deafening. “Oh! Interesting. That hit a nerve, but how?”
Ben stepped forward, fists clenched, as Sage’s eyes scanned Her closely. “I don’t know what kind of big shot you think you are, but I’d shut the fuck up now before I make your mouth fill up with blood.”
“I’m good,” she gave Ben a sideways look. “Although that’s also interesting. Now, you aren’t military, or a terrorist. You don’t seem quite as idiotically rage-blind as the others, you might even be intelligent. Or, well, intelligent by human standards.”
“You going to keep shooting in the dark, and waste all our time?” Her voice had moved closer, and Ben knew he’d only have to turn his head slightly to see that glassy-eyed stare focused on Sage, who only hummed.
“I’ll get it, don’t worry about that. My shot in the dark has floodlights compared to yours. But time is a finite resource, especially now. You just have to come on out to join the party, and we’ll get started.”
Ben twisted to find Her exchanging doubtful looks with Butcher, who spoke first.
“How do we know you ain’t just killed them, and are luring us out to finish the job?”
“Because that’s fucking stupid.” Sage said with an annoyed frown. “And I’m frankly a little insulted you think I'd do something that plainly dumb. You would’ve heard it. In fact, Soldier Boy can probably hear them, alive, right now. I just told them to stay there and be quiet or I’d start screaming about Starlight trying to kidnap and traffic me. People would hear me, we’re at a warehouse in Queens, not fucking Montana.”
Ben gave an eye roll as all eyes turned to him. “Why do I have to fucking check? There’s a goddamn window right there. Just fucking look outside. Or those pussies can just grow some fucking balls and tell us they’re alive.”
“Ben,” Her voice was tired, and he could still hear the pressure of her heart against her ribs. “You can hear them anyway. Just fucking tell us, please.”
“Fine,” he grunted. He could hear them anyway, so he gave a tight nod after making a whole stupid fucking show of listening for signs of life, but fuck him if this was going to become a regular thing. Ben was not, threat of dick-burning be damned, going to be reduced to recon.
But Her stopped trying to claw out of her when he confirmed Sage’s words, and Ben felt an odd, satisfying rush through him when he heard it.
“Can we move?” Sage stepped aside with an exaggerated sweep of her arm.
Butcher left first, and before Ben could follow, a hand grabbed his arm. He turned back to see barely-contained panic on across Her face—panic he could feel with the tightening of her grip.
“Sage can’t know,” She whispered to him. “Don’t tell her.”
“About what?” Ben frowned, trying to ignore where she still held his arm. Firmly. Unflinchingly.
She didn’t even pull back as she spoke. “Me. If she knows about me, she’ll tell Homelander. He’ll know I’m in New York. He’ll know I’m working with Butcher. He’ll find me and bring me back. Don’t tell her.”
Disturbingly, it wasn’t only the angered acceleration of her heart eating at Ben. It was realizing that her face wasn’t full of panic. It was fear—real fear—in her eyes. He’d never seen her just afraid. He’d seen her infuriated and nervous and exhausted but never simply, rawly afraid. He didn’t like it. She hadn’t become that hollow shell he’d seen at the beginning, or that unbearably tragic picture, looking far away as she told him about Homelander. She was just as unbendable as he knew her, but paralyzed. Made of only pure, useless fucking fear.
So he meant every fucking word he spoke. “I won’t. We’re not going back there.”
“We?” She didn’t let go, her face unreadable.
“I’m not going back in the fucking box, you’re not going back to that pussy Homelander. I’m going to kill them, and you’re going to let me leave. That was the fucking deal.”
She nodded, glancing down at her hands on his arm, and her hold on him loosened. “That was the deal.” She echoed, and walked past him without another word.
They stepped out onto the street and began to follow Sage into the warehouse, Butcher’s Pussysquad walking ahead of them. The moment Ben was at the door, MM turned, raising a flat palm to halt him. “No, you stay right fucking there. You are not a part of this.”
“I’m not listening if he’s not.” Sage said smoothly, looking Ben up and down.
“Great, you two can bond over hating convenient conversation.” She muttered from next to Ben, glaring a hole in the floor.
“Fuck off, Sunshine. I’m charming and endearing, not a bragging, self-assured bitch.” He muttered back as the argument about where he should stand stretched on for far too fucking long.
“You are the most braggadocios, self-assured bitch I’ve ever had the displeasure of knowing.”
“I’m not the bitch that just used ‘braggadocios’ in a sentence like an asshole pussy.”
“At least I know the word at all. I think you came out of the womb knowing only pussy, bitch, and fuck and decided that was more than enough.”
“You sound like a fucking bitch right now.”
“You sound like a cunt who wants to fuck his mirror all the time.”
Ben looked back down to see a thin-lipped, but painless, smile creeping across her face. “One day you should ask my mirror how it is. I’ll receive a fucking amazing endorsement, and you’ll beg me to give you a fucking chance.”
“Endorsement’s a pretty big word, pretty boy. Are you sure you don’t need to sit down now?”
He did a double-take. “Did you just fucking call me pretty-“
“Oi, either fuck right now or come and do your fucking jobs.” Butcher yelled from inside, the argument apparently over with a victory for Sage.
“Please don’t fuck right now,” Cocksucker mumbled, and She rolled her eyes, leaving Ben’s side to stand amongst the group.
“I think I’ll manage to keep it together.” Sarcasm dripped from her tone and was painted across her face, but she didn’t flinch away as Ben came up behind her.
Sage was eyeing Her still, and Ben liked the woman less by the second. Even as Starlight spoke, Sage’s attention didn’t move, remaining locked on Her as if trying to pick her apart.
“We know how Homelander screwed you, Sage. He’s screwed all of us.”
“Screwed feels like a bloody generous term for ass-fucking to completion and then cutting off our balls.” Butcher muttered.
“Butcher,” Cocksucker sighed. “Unnecessarily gross.”
“I don’t know,” the French Prick, having apparently re-joined the group when Ben hadn’t been paying attention, mused. “The visualization helps.”
Cocksucker gaped at him. “How?”
“Well, either way-“
“It raises the stakes, no?” The French Prick cut off Starlight, a look of impossibly genuine concentration on his face. “Screwing is gentle, possibly playful. Monsieur Butcher's words make the issue far more…” As he searched for the words, Kimiko made another weird fucking gesture, and a smile spread across the French Prick’s face. “Oui, Mon Coeur. Fucking urgent. Far more fucking urgent.”
“Great, more urgent.” Starlight blinked, clearly giving a pathetic attempt to regain control. It was glorious for Ben to watch. “Now, we think-“
“It was still gross, things can be urgent and not gross.” Cocksucker frowned at the French Prick.
“Hughie,” Starlight hissed.
“Shit, sorry Annie-“
“No, petite Hughie, the gross nature of the words is what makes them so urgent.” The French Prick argued. “It makes them more difficult to ignore.”
MM gave an attempt to push back that didn’t involve nearly enough shouting or threats for Ben’s taste. “The words don’t matter, now just listen to Annie-“
“Words fucking matter, Mate." Butcher interjected. Ben agreed, if they didn’t then the whole stupid fucking list would have been for nothing.
“Not right now, Butcher, right now all that matters is we listen to Annie-“
“Well, Butcher’s technically right. Words do really fucking matter.” She chimed in from Ben’s side. “Language is a pillar of culture, and different words will have the same translations but different meanings across cultures.”
MM gave Her a disbelieving stare. “You too?”
“What words have different meanings across cultures?” Cocksucker asked, sounding somehow genuinely interested.
“More often than not, it’s symbolic changes, such as colors and animals having different connotations or there being a wide variety of words for one language that only has a few.”
“This can’t wait?” Starlight asked, throwing MM a hopeless look. Ben hoped it couldn’t. As utterly boring as the words coming out of Her mouth were, he’d never seen her so enthusiastic about something that wasn’t a piece of media to be explained. Her heartbeat was rising, yes, but it was beating like a drug, not a gun, against Ben’s head. This, this was tolerable, and if Starlight fucking stopped it he might have to kill her.
It was MM though, who said Her name firmly. As she trailed off, he looked at her with raised eyebrows and a frown. “You done?”
Ben could hear the chew of Her lip, and she nodded apologetically, shooting a nervous look to where Sage was watching Her with narrow eyes. If Ben was smart about it, he was pretty sure he could kill Sage, MM, and Starlight in one move. Unfortunately, that would probably make Her all bitchy and angry at him, which was exactly what he was trying to avoid. Maybe he could make it look like an accident.
“Great,” Starlight sighed. “Sage, Homelander has fucked all of us.” Butcher gave an approving grin as Starlight threw him a dirty look. “He needs to be stopped.”
“And what makes you think you can stop him? You’ve tried numerous times, and every attempt has blown up in your face more spectacularly than the last.”
“We have a plan.” Starlight said, standing up straighter.
“Then you don’t need me.”
“That’s what I fucking said.” Butcher grumbled.
“But they didn’t listen to you, which means whatever you’re trying isn’t a revenge-blind, foolish Butcher special.”
“Love, if you’re implying I’m a fucking idiot-“
“Wasn’t implying. Outright said it.”
“We can still bloody kill you-“
“Butcher,” MM said with a glare. “Shut the fuck up.”
“Well, I ain’t bloody wrong. Her power is ‘smart’, she’s not a fucking threat. We got the real threat on our side.” Butcher gave Her a wide, smug grin.
Right at Ben’s side, She froze.
“The ‘real threat’?” Sage asked, and turned slowly to examine Her once more.
“Soldier Boy,” MM said, looking between Her and Sage. “You know what he can do. We didn’t bring him back for nothing.”
“No, but you did bring him back… Why?” Sage wondered aloud, and Ben could hear the insufferable gears of her bitch brain turning. “Because you had the real threat. Not him, something worse.” Sage’s mouth turned up just the gleam in her eyes returned. “The Anomaly.”
“I- what are you- I don’t know what-“ Ben didn’t need to see Her eyes to know that the fear had returned. It was in every word She spoke, and he wanted to rip it out of her and shove it into Sage. “You don’t- I don’t-“
“He told me you died. Horrible accident, fourth shot of V didn’t take, and you combusted. I knew he was lying, I just thought he’d decided he wanted more secrecy and moved you, killed you himself, or you’d escaped and were on the other side of the world. Very, very stupid of you to come back.”
“If you know what happened to her, you should know what a fucking monster Homelander is.” Starlight said. “You should listen to what we have to say.”
“Not interested anymore.” Sage gave a dismissive gesture, another fucking smile creeping onto her features. “The Anomaly, alive and working with Starlight and Butcher? Working with Soldier Boy? This is good, this changes things.”
Ben braced his arms at his side, his anger feeding into the beat against his chest, moving forward as She took a weak, stumbled step further behind him. “You listen, or lose your fucking life.”
“I think I’ll just go. I had a much more dramatic reveal, but you have been set up, and this building is surrounded.” Sage sighed. “I would say I wish I could’ve played into the theatrics you all love a little more, but I’m actually incredibly fucking relieved I don’t have to. I’ll see everybody soon, and good luck with whatever you’re planning. I’m sure it will be entertaining.”
Before Ben could give in to the drums, or even more to grab her, the warehouse was flooded with men in black suits.
“Fuck,” Butcher shouted, pulling out a gun from thin fucking air. “What’s the point of having a super-hearing supe if you can’t fucking hear a warehouse full of enemies?”
“Sound-suppressing suits,” the French Prick yelled, taking a step behind Kimiko as he too pulled a weapon from nowhere. “I was developing them with the CIA, Vought must have gotten their fucking hands on them.”
MM pulled out his own gun, and Ben was now pretty fucking sure they were all keeping them up their asses. “Does Mallory know about them?”
“Oui, but they must have just gotten their hands on them, I finished them only two days ago.”
“When we made the fucking plan to meet with Sage,” Cocksucker had, like the cowardly pussy Ben knew him to be, moved behind Starlight. “But she can’t have known we had Soldier Boy, why would she spend time to get them?”
“Sage is nothing if not careful,” MM fired up at the descending men. “We need to get out of here, right fucking now.”
The words had hardly left MM’s mouth when the warehouse lit up with bullets.
“Are you just going to let Sage fucking get away?” Ben yelled, remaining firmly planted where he was, bullets bouncing off him like rain.
“Excuse us, Gov, not all of us are bloody immortal. And we quite like living, so shut the fuck up and be useful.” Butcher ran past Ben, firing back as he did.
Ben scowled at nothing, punching one of the men backwards like a bowling ball when he got too close. “She’s going back to Homelander, that feels pretty fucking important-“
“The doors are fucking blocked!” Cocksucker’s shrill, pussy yell cut Ben off. “They’re everywhere!”
“Then move them, you fucking pussy!” Ben threw another up into the ceiling.
He felt fucking alive. All around him, Butcher’s team was being the most useful they’d ever need in their pathetic pussy lives. The French Prick was holding something weird and long that Ben would very much like to use later, Butcher and MM were firing with an intent to kill that Ben appreciated, Kimiko ripped off a man's head with ease, and Ben was starting to hate her a little less than the rest of them. Even Starlight and Cocksucker were vaguely helpful, even if Starlight was mostly invested in keeping Cocksucker and his weak punches safe. It was fucking perfect, right until Ben threw another man into the wall, leaving a dent in the concrete, and saw Her.
She was right where they’d left her, smoking but not yet burning, men trying to grab her but falling back with screams as they did. Her bloodless, frozen face was trained on where Sage had stood, and despite the chorus of gunshots and shouting through the warehouse, her heartbeat was as loud as if Ben were right next to her. The tapping was fast—faster than he’d ever heard it, her eyes were unblinking and glazed, and blood was dripping from her lips as she chewed through skin.
She was going to fucking blow.
Another man, in almost slow motion, grabbed Her. But not on the arms or shoulder like the others had attempted. Right on the fucking neck. Ben watched as the idiot's hand landed on Her throat, watched her eyes widen and clear, and watched the man let out an undignified, pussy-like shriek as he recoiled back. But it was too fucking late. The smoke stopped, for only a second, and Ben could’ve sworn the ground fucking shook.
Everything went up into flames.
“Fuck!” Ben heard MM roar from somewhere behind him. “Everyone out! Get the fuck out!”
Ben sent another man flying back, directly into the fire, as he kept his eyes on Her. Still frozen, eyes no longer clouded, looking almost fucking oblivious to the flames around her. She didn’t seem to be burning anymore, only standing in the fire that had burst from her. Her eyes were full of that fear again, shooting upwards as the first piece of the roof fell down with a crash.
“The doors! Open the fucking doors!”
Ben turned to find Butcher shouting as Kimiko and MM struggled with the warehouse entrance. Ben glanced back at Her, but his line of sight was cut as another piece fell. Somehow, over all the noise, Ben heard Butcher once more.
“Soldier Boy, get your cunt ass over here and be fucking useful. Open the fucking doors!”
Ben grabbed one of the idiotic men who hadn’t either burned or tried to scramble away, throwing him directly to the warehouse door. The man shot right through the building, clearing a hole to the outside with a crunch. In the momentary shocked silence of the groups struggle, fire crackled, and another piece of the warehouse fell.
“Out!” Out of the corner of his eye, Ben saw MM practically push Cocksucker through the hole. “Now! Get out!”
Ben stared at the hole, Her heartbeat ripping into him. He could leave her. The building would fall, and he could fucking run in the time it took to pull her out. He could be fucking free, ahead of schedule, no killing Homelander and saving a stupid fucking world full of backstabbing pussies required. They’d find another way to kill Homelander, or not. It wouldn’t be his problem. Ben couldn’t even see her through the smoke and debris anymore. It would be so fucking easy to leave, kill Butcher, and escape.
But Her heartbeat wouldn’t fucking stop. It would keep going and going into his head. And the drum hated it, every time it sank into him, it fed the fucking drum.
He wasn’t moving. He needed to fucking move, or they’d realize his plan and try and knock him out. He wasn’t going back in the fucking box.
And She wasn’t going back to Homelander.
“Fuck!” He yelled at no one, partially hoping she’d just walk out, or someone would call him forward. But all the team had left them, and now the warehouse was just Ben, Her, and a bunch of ill-fated Vought shit-eaters.
Ben turned, throwing the wreckage as he did. It probably wasn’t helpful to the general state of the building the way he did so, but he wasn’t in the mood to be a fucking careful or gentle pussy. He reached Her, and found her passed out, face almost empty. If it weren’t for the sound of her breath, the still-quick flutter of her heart, Ben would’ve thought her dead.
“If you don’t become at least 10% less of a bitch after this Sunshine,” he grumbled at her unconscious body. “I’m throwing you right back in here.”
But he hauled Her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, ignoring the way she seared into his skin, and walked through his previous path to the exit.
———-
The ride back from the disastrous mission made Ben want to blow everyone’s fucking brains out of their heads. There were weird looks, hushed questions about what happened that he had to pretend he couldn’t hear, and a whole lot of self-righteous, sad faces. It was made worse by the fact that She didn’t even wake up until they were fully back in the safe house, meaning Ben had to fucking carry her inside. Butcher offered, but Ben had just glared at him—as far as Ben was concerned, the dick just wanted to take advantage of one of the only “safe” times to touch her—and refused to even respond.
Ben dumped Her in her room, and marched back downstairs to find Butcher still in the fucking living room.
“What the fuck do you want?” Ben grumbled, pushing past him to the kitchen.
“Well, I would usually tell your girlfriend, but seeing as she's taking a bloody little nap you’ll have to do.”
“She’d cut off your dick if she heard that,” Ben snorted. “Take it from my personal experience.”
“Good thing she can’t. Just tell her we’ll be back in a few days for operation Quick and Bald.”
"Operation Quick and Bald?" Ben huffed a sarcastic laugh. “I am not fucking saying those words.”
Butcher smirked. “Your head, Gov. See you in a few days.”
And Ben was left alone in the kitchen.
It took all the way to morning for Her to wake up. She stumbled into Ben’s room with a frown and a determined look.
“Teach me how to fight.”
Ben gave her a lazy half-grin from the bed. “Welcome back, Sunshine. Anything you’d like to say to me? A thank you, for instance. Though I would also accept acts of gratitude.”
“I’m not sucking your dick. Teach me how to fight.”
“I’m good. Not in my job description.”
She glared at him. "Technically, you don’t have a job. We’re not paying you. Teach me how to fight.”
“They’re not paying you either, Sunshine. We’re both victims.”
“I’m legally dead, they can’t pay me. And you’re the farthest thing from a victim, Mr. Body Count in the Thousands. Teach me how to fight.”
“No.” Ben had no interest in doing more for these fucking idiots. He’d already saved her life once in the past day, that should earn him enough fucking gratitude to coast for at least a damn month.
“Please, Ben, this can’t keep happening where I lose control, someone could really get hurt.” She rubbed her eyes in obvious distress. “People did get hurt.”
“So? Hurting people is what we do. You shouldn’t be in the field if you can’t fucking handle it.” Ben repeated the words he had so often told himself through the years. It had always fucking worked for him. She shouldn’t be any different.
“I can’t fucking handle it?!” She scoffed in disbelief. “That’s a mighty stupid thing for the pot to say to the kettle.”
Ben shot her a cold look. “I know how to fucking hold my own, Sunshine, I don’t need someone to fucking save me. You can’t fucking control yourself at all, and it’s a goddamn problem.”
“Nobody made you go back, you could’ve just fucking left me.” She hissed.
"Well, I didn’t,” Ben growled. “Don’t make me fucking regret it.”
“I could say the same for you. You’re only out of the box because I wanted you here-”
“Aw, Sunshine, you wanted me?” He mocked.
“I wanted your powers here. You’re just the vessel.”
“I saved your fucking life, bitch.”
“And I’m sure you’re not going to be a fucking cunt about that forever.”
“You need me.” He shot to his feet. “Don’t fucking forget it.”
She took a step forward, her face venomous. “No, you need me. What do you think happens if they decide I’m a ‘problem’ now, huh? They send me home, and just trust you not to go all revenge-fueled vigilante? If I burn, you burn, Ben. So fucking teach me how to not be a ‘problem’, or it’s your fucking head.”
He bared his teeth at Her. “If I teach you how to fight, will you stop being a fucking pussy and thank me for saving you?”
“Teach me how to fight, really fight and not just throw a punch, and I’ll buy you a fucking fleshlight.”
“What the fuck is a fleshlight?”
She gave him a mocking smirk. “Trust me, you’ll love them.”
Ben paused, examining Her face, angered but firm. “I want three of them.” He still wasn't sure what they were, but She had been frustratingly fucking accurate about what he would and wouldn't like.
“Deal.” She extended her hand, and he glared at it.
“If I hate them, you’re cooking me something.”
“You’d volunteer to be poisoned?” She laughed. “Your funeral, dumbass.”
He ignored her words, and shook her hand as aggressively as he could. “Meet me in the kitchen in three hours. I’m going to make you fucking cry.”
She grinned. “Looking forward to it.”

Sam & Dean Winchester (Supernatural) - Merry Christmas, Kid
Christmas: From The Vault
25 Days of Christmas
Warnings: mentions of k!lling
Italics - flashback
The wind howled outside the rundown motel as the Winchester siblings trudged through the door, cold and weary after a long hunt. Y/n tossed her bag near the door and collapsed onto the creaky sofa couch. She reached down to untie her boots, her fingers fumbling with the laces as she half-listened to her brothers’ banter. "Man, that werewolf had some nerve trying to take a chunk out of me." Dean grumbled, pulling off his jacket and throwing it over a chair. "You mean after you tripped over that log and practically served yourself up on a platter?" Sam shot back, grinning as he dropped his duffle by the table. "Hey, I had it handled!" Dean huffed.
"Sure, Dean." Y/n murmured, her words slurred with sleep as she kicked off her boots. She stretched out on the couch, her eyes fluttering shut despite the conversation flowing around her. "How are you not passed out already?" Sam asked, glancing her way. "Superpower." She mumbled, a small smile tugging at her lips before she succumbed to sleep.
The creaky motel door opened, and the Winchester boys stepped inside, tired and sore after the hunt. The familiar musty smell of cheap furniture and stale air filled the room, but something unexpected caught their attention. "Well, would you look at that." Dean said softly, dropping his duffle bag by the door.
In the middle of the small, cluttered living room, Y/n was sprawled across the ratty sofa, fast asleep. Scraps of colorful wrapping paper were scattered everywhere, along with a half-empty roll of tape and a pair of blunt scissors. A couple of oddly shaped presents sat on the table, wrapped with the enthusiasm of a child but not much skill. Sam chuckled lightly. "She really went all out, huh?"
Before Dean could reply, the door swung open behind them, and John Winchester entered, his boots heavy on the worn carpet. His sharp eyes swept over the scene, landing on the mess. "For crying out loud." He muttered, running a hand through his graying hair. "Now I gotta clean all this up." Dean frowned, his jaw tightening. "It’s fine, Dad. She was just trying to do something nice."
"Yeah, well, maybe she should’ve stayed awake to finish it." John snapped, shaking his head. Sam scoffed, unable to hold back. "You can always count on you to ruin a nice thing." John froze, his eyes narrowing dangerously. "Watch your tone, Sammy." He growled, his voice low and warning. But Sam didn’t back down. "It’s Christmas Eve. Can’t you let it go for once?"
John’s face darkened, and without another word, he grabbed his jacket and stormed out, slamming the door behind him. The room shook with the force of it, and an uneasy silence followed. Dean sighed heavily, rubbing a hand down his face. "Well, that went great." From the sofa, a small voice broke the quiet. "Did I ruin Christmas?"
Y/n stirred sometime later to the faint sound of rustling. She cracked an eye open, barely moving, and saw her brothers. Sam was by the window, arranging something on a spindly pine tree that looked like it had been hacked from the woods outside. He was stringing it with mismatched odds and ends—charms, bottle caps, and even a shoelace. Dean stood at the kitchenette, muttering curses under his breath as he fumbled with the microwave. "Quiet, Dean." Sam whispered sharply. "You're gonna wake her."
"It's not my fault this thing's ancient!" Dean hissed back, shaking a packet of hot cocoa mix like it had personally offended him. Sam rolled his eyes and stalked over. "Give me that. You're hopeless."
"No, you're hopeless!" Dean relatialted. "Me? I'm devorating and you cant even make a simple cup of hot cocoa." Sam whisper shouted. "Its not the making it, its the opening it!" A scuffle broke out, hushed but no less ridiculous, as they wrestled over the cocoa packet. Dean jabbed at Sam with an elbow, Sam retaliated with a swat to Dean’s head, and the powder burst open, spilling onto the counter. Y/n bit her lip to stifle a laugh, deciding not to ruin the surprise. She closed her eyes and drifted back into sleep.
Dean quickly shook his head and walked over, kneeling in front of her. "No way, kiddo. You didn’t ruin anything. Dad’s just…stressed, that’s all." Sam came to sit beside her, nudging her shoulder gently. "Dean’s right. You did great." She hesitated, then reached for the gifts on the table. "I, um… I got you guys something."
Sam and Dean exchanged a look before sitting down on either side of her. She handed them each a package, wrapped with far too much tape and uneven folds. Dean tore into his first, pulling out a comb. He raised an eyebrow before realizing it doubled as a pocket knife when he slid the end off. He let out a low whistle. "This is awesome, Y/n. How’d you manage this?"
Sam opened his next, revealing a thick book. He ran a hand over the cover, his lips quirking into a smile when he read the title: Law Basics for Beginners. "I know you want to go to college and be a lawyer." Y/n said shyly. "So I figured… this might help." Sam looked at her with a mix of pride and surprise. "It’s perfect. But seriously, how’d you afford all this?" She grinned mischievously. "I went caroling on doorsteps. The suckers gave me money." Dean burst out laughing, ruffling her hair. "That’s my girl."
As Dean laughed, his gaze drifted to the table. Among the mess of wrapping supplies, he saw a small handmade frame, carefully constructed from sticks and twine. Inside was a family photo—John, Mary, young Dean, and Sam. Dean picked it up, his throat tightening. "Is this… for Dad?" Y/n nodded. "I thought he might like it. I know I’m not in it, but—"
Dean cut her off, pulling her into a hug. "It’s perfect. He’ll love it." Pulling back, Dean reached into his jacket pocket. "Speaking of gifts, I got you something too." He pulled out a small amulet on a leather cord and dangled it in front of her. "What’s it do?" she asked, turning it over in her fingers. "It’s anti-possession. Keeps demons out. And it looks cool, too." Dean said with a grin as he placed it around the neck. Y/n beamed, immediately putting it on. "I’ll wear it forever."
Sam reached into his own bag and handed her a small flask. "Here. It’s for holy water. You know, just in case you ever go on a hunt with us." She hugged them both tightly. "I love you guys."
"We love you too, squirt." Dean said, ruffling her hair again. "You should probably go to bed though. It's getting late." Y/n nodded. "But this is my bed." She replied. "You know what, just for tonight you can sleep in mine. Too comfy for me anyway." She grinned and gave her brothers a kiss on the cheek before she hopped off the couch and into Dean's bed, promptly shutting her eyes and falling back to sleep.
When she woke again, it was to the smell of cocoa and the sight of her brothers seated at the rickety motel table. Dean had on a slightly askew Santa hat, and Sam’s was tilted just right, naturally. Between them sat steaming mugs of hot chocolate, the pine tree now proudly decorated in all its patchwork glory. Y/n sat up, blinking in mock surprise. "Wow. What’s all this?" Dean squinted at her. "You didn’t already see this, did you?"
"What? No!" Y/n said, her voice a little too high-pitched. Sam raised an eyebrow. "Liar." She sighed. "Okay, fine, I might’ve peeked. A little." Sam grinned and reached behind him, pulling out a hastily wrapped present. "Here. We picked this up in the last town."
Y/n tore into the paper to reveal a Barbie. Sam's face dropped as he saw the gift, Dean cluld only look on amused. "I'm a little old for Barbie, dont you think?" She looked up, her heart swelling at the effort they’d made. "I- I didn't think it'd be that." Sam replied awkwardly. "And what's you think it would be? Maybe a Ken doll instead-" Sam nudged him hard. "I love it." She said sincerely. Dean laughed. "Yeah, well, thank Sam. He’s the one who thought visiting a mall Santa was a good idea." Sam shrugged. "Hey, it worked, didn’t it?"
Dean reached into his pocket and pulled out a pistol. "Here, kid. Merry Christmas."
"Dean!" Sam scolded, nudging him hard. "What? It's practical!" Y/n laughed, cradling both the doll and the gun. "Thanks, guys." She got up and joined them at the table, wrapping her hands around the warm mug of cocoa. "So-" She said after a sip. "When are we heading out to catch that vampire?" Dean arched a brow as he put his cup down. "We’re not. It’s Christmas. Even bloodsuckers get the day off." Sam nodded. "It’s probably not much of a threat today. People won’t be out."
Y/n shook her head firmly. "The sooner we kill it, the sooner we get back here. Let’s go." Dean and Sam exchanged a look, one of those unspoken moments of agreement that only siblings could share. Dean chuckled and shook his head. "No DNA test needed. You’re definitely a Winchester."
When John finally returned, he reeked of alcohol, his steps heavy and uneven. He stopped short when he saw Dean sitting at the table, the handmade frame in front of him. "What’s your problem?" John asked, his tone gruff. Dean stood, holding up the frame. "This. This is my problem. You nearly ruined her Christmas like always."
John’s face hardened. "I didn’t—"
"She’s not even in this picture, but she still made it for you." Dean snapped. "The least you could do is not be so selfish for once." John stared at the frame, his expression unreadable. After a long pause, he sighed and walked over to Y/n’s bed. Gently, he shook her awake. "Hey, kiddo." He said softly. She blinked up at him, surprised.
"I’m sorry." John said, holding up the frame. "This… this is really nice. Thank you." Her face lit up, and he smiled faintly before pulling a pristine white-handled gun from his bag. "This is for you." He said, placing it in her hands. "It’s to protect you. Tomorrow morning, I’ll teach you how to make salt-lined bullets."
Y/n’s excitement was palpable. "Really? Thanks, Dad!" She hugged him before settling back into bed, clutching her new gun like it was a teddy bear. John turned to Dean, who was leaning against the wall, arms crossed. "Happy now?" Dean sighed. "A little."
"Good. Merry Christmas, Dean." John said as he walked over to his bed and lay down, almost immediately falling asleep. Dean sighed and stared at the frame on the table. He missed how Christmas used to be; his mom, dad and Sam just enjoying Christmas, laughing, no demons or monsters. He wpuld give anything to go back to those days. His gaze shufted to Y/n asleep. He thought that maybe- just maybe- Y/n is the only reason he wouldn't go back. Because what would be Christmas without his little sister?

Home alone
One-shot
Winchester Brothers x Little sister! Reader
Masterlist
Request : Heyy, how are you doing? I was wondering if I could request for supernatural:3Maybe something where reader is Sam and Dean's little sister (13/14) and it's set on the first episode maybe. So, basically Sam leaves her home alone because he's going hunting with Dean, she finds out just in the morning because he hasn't left a note or anything and she starts to panic, but then she calls them and they calm her down? It's ok if you can't or don't take requests, I Hope you have a wonderful day! Remember to take care of yourself:3
A/N: Sorry it took a long time. I really do hope you'll like it. Maybe it won't be exactly how you expected it.
My eyes slowly opened as the birds sang softly near my window. I began to wipe the fatigue from my eyes as I sat up in bed. I had the weirdest dream last night. One where Dean entered the flat by a window and took Sam with him to find dad. It surely meant that I missed my dad and my brother after four years without seeing them. And Sam barely mentioning them nowadays didn’t help. As the drowsiness of sleep faded, I became aware of my surroundings and noticed that the apartment was eerily quiet this morning. This silence could only indicate two things: either it was very early, or I slept in. By the window, I could see that the sun was already up. I then decided to check my alarm to finally know what time it was. It was 8 AM. At least, I didn’t oversleep. Stretching my legs, I got up and made my way to the kitchen. Passing by the living room, I noticed that everything has been left untouched since yesterday. The coffee table was still covered in books and notebooks as well as various uncorked markers left haphazardly here and there. It was curious, since Sam was pretty much the tidy type, unlike Dean and I. I definitely won’t miss the opportunity to remind him that for once I was not the one leaving a mess behind.
But weirder, when I arrived in the kitchen I saw various cups and plates left on the table and the sink. Sam and Jess would never leave such a mess behind them. But they were probably still drunk from last night. “Sam? Jess?” I finally called. The silence was deafening. I thought for a second that maybe one of them was in the bathroom. So I came to the bathroom door and knocked softly. “Sam? Jess? Are you in there?” But again, complete silence was the only answer I got. There wasn’t even a water noise or the sound of someone brushing their teeth. There was only one room left, Sam and Jess’s. Maybe they were the ones oversleeping? I finally came to their room’s door. As I approached, I immediately noticed the absence of snoring noise. I then knocked on the door. I was once again met with utter silence. Frustration was slowly building in me. So I slowly opened the door and said “I’m coming inside! If I catch you doing something unsuitable for my innocent eyes, I won't be the most embarrassed!”. But, once the door was opened, I only saw a neatly made bed and an empty room.
I let out a rather loud sigh as I closed the door behind me. Maybe they went to the grocery store, or the library? I refuse to think about anything worse. But they would never leave me without at least a little note somewhere. So, I made my way back to the kitchen to check the fridge to see if they left me a note. But there wasn’t anything in the fridge door or anywhere else. My heartbeat increased with each passing second. Panic was overtaking me and the worst case scenarios ran in my mind. What if something happened to them? What if our old ‘lifestyle’ finally caught up to us? Anxiety was slowly overwhelming me. But I tried to reassure myself and immediately thought about the table next to the door. I practically ran like a maniac toward it, in hope of finding something. But my hopes were crushed when I didn’t find a single note on the little notepad.
My last option was the phone. Thankfully, the little red light was flickering, indicating that someone had left a message. I pushed the button and silently prayed. But when I played the voicemail, I noticed that there wasn’t any message coming from Sam or Jess. I tried to call Jess and Sam right away. But I managed to get voicemail for both of them. “Sam, please! At least tell me you’re okay. I’m anxious. Please call me back soon!” I was really having trouble breathing. I let myself slide down the wall behind me and ended up sitting on the cold wooden floor. The flood of scary thoughts came back to torment me.
I always knew what lurked in the dark. Dad had made sure of it since I was little. Hell, he practically handed me a dagger when I told him I was afraid of monsters under my bed. Thankfully, Dean and Sam always made me feel safe. Even if I was only their half-sister, Dean and Sam were always there with me and never ostracized me for not having the same mother. If anything happened to them, I didn’t know what I would do. When Sam left for Stanford, he took me with him, leaving Dean and dad behind. They were always on my mind and I missed them everyday, especially Dean. He raised me more than dad ever did. I often had nightmares where something bad happened to them. What if it already happened and Sam was the next to die? What if…? My fear overwhelmed me and clouded my mind with the most horrific visions of my family’s corpses.
My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the phone ringing. Without even thinking, I jumped and threw myself on the phone. “Y/N?” His voice made my heart jump. “Sam?! Where are you? Are you okay? Where’s Jess?” I blurted out in haste, almost out of breath. “Easy, Y/N. Everything’s okay. Jess is at the library. She probably forgot to tell you, sorry. She’ll come back soon. I’m…” There was another male voice interrupting him. I recognized it right away. “Dean?! Oh my god, Dean! I’m so glad to hear your voice. I missed you so much.” I practically screamed on the phone. I heard a bit of bickering when Dean took the phone.”Happy to hear your voice too, sis. I miss you too.” I could hear the smile in his voice. I never felt more relieved in my life. But suddenly, I realized that if these two were together, it meant that something bad happened. “What happened?”, I asked anxiously. There was a bit of silence before Dean replied “Well, dad didn’t come back from one of his hunts. So I came to your apartment last night to get Sam’s ass in the car and try to find dad.” So, I heard them last night. I thought that it was a dream.
“But, why didn’t you take me with you?” I asked and I knew that hurt was evident in my voice when I heard him sigh. “Listen Y/N, we didn’t want you involved in this. You finally have a normal life and we couldn't take it away from you just like that. It’s just another hunt involving what we think is a kind of ghost. It’s basically milk run for us. Soon, I’ll drive Sam back and you’ll keep living your life as if nothing happened.” “A normal life?! Are you kidding? I still sleep with a dagger under my pillow, just in case.” I heard Dean taking a deep breath. He was probably looking for a witty comeback , as always. But before he could answer, I heard Sam. “Y/N, we’re really sorry. But we didn’t know whether it was dangerous or not. We can’t risk losing our baby sis. Dean and I are going to be careful and I promise we’ll be back soon.” “We? Dean will join us?” I asked, hopeful. There was a bit of silence before I heard Dean reply “Well, we’ll see kiddo. It’s up to Sammy.” I heard Sam protesting at the nickname. “I just want to have my brothers with me.” I said, my voice cracking a bit. “I know, sweetheart.”, said Dean in a breath. “It’s a matter of days, I promise. We’ll find that bitch’s corpse, salt and burn it. We’ll be with you in no time.” He said in a reassuring tone. I smiled a little, but it didn’t reach my eyes. “What about dad?” I finally asked. “He can’t be that far. Don’t worry.”, said Sam. “Also, I’m sorry I didn’t leave a note. I didn't have the time.”, he added. “It’s okay, don’t worry about it. Just promise me you’ll both be careful and come back safe.” “We promise.”, they said in unison. “And please, update me whenever you can. I love you, goofs.” I heard them laugh. “Okay. We love you too, sis. See you soon.”, said Dean. And they hung up the phone.
I fell back on the floor, half relieved and half anxious. Trouble was definitely on the way, but at least, they were okay. I just had to wait for their next call. A sudden noise made me jump. To my relief, it was Jess. “Hey, Y/N! Sorry I didn’t tell you I was going to the library. But I figured that you would forgive me if I came back with your favorite pie.”, she said while shaking a bag. I got up and hugged her. She hugged me back while laughing a little “Wow. I know you love pie but not at this point.” She didn't know how happy I was to see her.
Timeskip
Fire, fire everywhere. Jess was on the ceiling, burning and bleeding. I couldn’t do anything to help her. Dean had to grab both Sam and I before fire could attain us. Her face, her cries for help, it was replaying in my mind endlessly. I would never be able to forget it.
Dean sat me on the curb, in the midst of the chaos around us. “Y/N, are you okay?”, he asked with a concerned voice. I vaguely nodded my head, still in shock. I couldn't even cry. I threw a glance at Sam. He was devastated. He was crying hard while clinging to me as if he was afraid I would disappear. They finally both took me in their arms. I missed that. But it was sad to have to wait for such a tragedy to finally have my brothers with me. After a moment, Dean sighed and said “ I guess you’ll have to come with us, now.” And in no time, I was on the backseat of the Impala while Dean was driving to our next destination.

a little mini series for you, I hope you like!
All my life, the only thing I ever wanted was to be noticed.
I wanted my parents to notice when I had done well on a test that was hard for me.
I wanted my friends to notice when I was quiet or felt out of the loop.
I desperately wanted that cute guy in my biology class to notice that I had spent the entire semester taking detailed notes just so I could help him study.
I just wanted someone, anyone to notice me.
It was never me though.
It was always my older brother Jared.
It was like he always had to one up me.
Nothing was ever mine.
For example, whenever I would ace a test, Jared would somehow be offered some prestigious award for academics.
He hung out with all the popular guys, and the girls practically threw themselves at him.
It was like he didn’t even have to try.
It's only gotten worse since he'd landed a starring role on the new hit show Supernatural.
Jared didn't know if they would even make it past the first season, but the show was an instant success. It catapulted him to stardom. Girls from all over the world were crazed about my brother.
It kind of grossed me out.
I had to admit, I was getting a lot of recognition now too, but it was always (y/n) Padalecki, sister of Jared, and never just (y/n).
I mean I love my brother to death, he's the best, but sometimes it would feel nice not to be so, so invisible.
I stretched my muscles with a sigh.
I had finally landed in Canada.
I was going to be visiting Jared for awhile, while they filmed season two of supernatural. I missed him like crazy.
I was also taking a much needed break from fashion school in New York.
"Moose!" I squealed, spotting the top of my brother's head.
I could hear Jared groan from across the airport. I chuckled as he hated being called Moose.
I pushed through the crowd of people, finally seeing my brothers dorky face.
He rolled his eyes before pulling me in to a bone crushing hug.
"I missed you moose." I said as I squeezed him.
"I missed you too brat." Jared laughs.
He lets me go, setting me back on my feet.
"come on, Jensen's waiting for us back at our house." Jared said grabbing my bag.
"wait you and Jensen are living together?" I asked, my cheeks tinting with a blush.
"yeah, we decided to just rent a place together this season, it'll be easier, is that okay?"
"mmhmm." I nodded not trusting my voice to formulate an actual answer.
Jensen Ackles.
my brother's crazy hot co-star.
and according to him, best friend, besides me of course.
I met Jensen before they started filming season one.
Jared and Jensen went on "bonding" trips together, I guess to make playing brother's more believable. I had been invited on a few. Of course I was always pushed to wayside, but I didn't mind.
It gave me the opportunity to gawk at the eye candy that is Jensen Ackles.
He wasn't just hot though.
He was more complex then that.
He was kind, he was funny, he was easy to get along with.
and I was completely crushing on him.
It didn’t matter though.
It wasn't like he noticed me.
I was completely off his radar.
"how's design school?" Jared asked breaking the silence.
"I just needed a break I guess. It's a cutthroat industry, and I don't know if I'm cut out for it." I admitted.
"what of course you are, you're insanely talented! I mean why do think I always call you before award shows? I trust you to make sure I don't look like a dork!" Jared laughed.
"well I hate to break it to you moose, but you always look like a dork, the clothes aren't going to help you." I smirked, earning a punch to the arm.
"ugh thanks to you the entire supernatural cast calls me moose now!" Jared groans.
"well if the shoe fits." I shrugged earning another punch to the arm.
"I could always call you gigantor, if you like that better." I added pushing my brother's buttons.
"I think we'll stick with moose."
Jared pulls in to a condominium.
It's beautiful, fit for celebrities I guess.
"wow, living the high life I see." I said as my eyes traveled around the luxurious condo.
"It's definitely crazy."
I gazed at my brother, seeing his shoulders slumped over.
I can't imagine how he was feeling.
I mean his life basically changed overnight. He can't go out now without girls flocking him. He has no privacy.
I know he won’t let it show, but I could tell the pressure that comes along with his new found fame gets to him sometimes.
I walked over to my brother wrapping my arms around his tall frame, squeezing him again.
"I'm really glad you're here brat, it's kind of nice to have some sense of normalcy." Jared said running a hand through my hair.
"hate you." I whispered with a smile.
"hate you too." Jared smirked.
I stepped away from Jared, just as the door flung open revealing Jensen.
"is that baby moose I hear out here? "
I swallowed harshly as he came over wrapping his arms around me in a hug. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks and I hugged him back, nonchalantly taking in his sweet scent.
"Hi J." I said quietly.
Jensen stepped back, letting his eyes rake over me. I couldn't help but shrink under his gaze.
It was intimidating.
I took this time to stare at him too.
He's different.
His muscles were more defined now, signifying he'd been working out for the role.
His hair was still short but messy.
He had a very light stubble on his face that made his jawline more defined.
He looked good.
Better than good.
He looked sexy.
I heard Jared clear his throat loudly, making me tear my eyes away from Jensen. A heat spread throughout my body.
I wondered what Jensen was thinking.
"Jensen and I have a meeting with the director, I'll uh help you take your things in and then you can get settled while we're gone." Jared said.
I nodded my head as Jared grabbed my bag from the trunk, taking it inside.
"it's nice to see you baby moose." Jensen said offering me a cheeky smile before getting in the car.
I bit my lip, hiding the blush that spread to my cheeks. I followed Jared in to the house, which was even more extravagant on the inside.
"I guess it pays to be famous." I said spinning around to get a complete view.
"I'm not famous, just lucky." Jared laughed.
"yeah that's why a fangirl followed me around in the grocery store the other day, asking me a million questions about you."
"wait that actually happens?" Jared laughed.
"more times than I would care to admit." I said joining in Jared's laughter.
our laughter died down, a comfortable silence settling in between us.
"uh your room is upstairs, the third door on the right, next to Jensen's, you sure you're going to be okay here?" Jared asked handing me my duffle bag.
"I think I'll manage."
"I'll be back soon."
Jared placed a kiss on my forehead, before going out to join Jensen in the car. I watched them drive away before going to find my room.
Jensen
Jared got in the car giving me a stern look.
"what?" I asked innocently.
"don't what me, dude that's my sister." Jared growled.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." I smirked.
"just keep your eyes away from my sister."
"I wasn't even looking." I laughed as I pulled out of the drive way heading over to the studio.
I was looking though.
She was different.
She looked different.
Her hair was longer.
She definitely grew in to her body.
She was no longer the lanky girl I had come to know.
I would be lying if I said my eyes didn't linger on her now defined chest.
She looked good.
Better than good.
She looked beautiful.
Fuck.
I shouldn't be thinking like this.
I mean this was my best friend's sister.
I know Jared would kill me if he knew I was thinking this way.
I better stop.
I didn’t want to though.
"hello, earth to Jensen." Jared said waving a hand in front of my face.
"sorry man, what did you say?"
"I asked if you were coming."
I looked up seeing we were in the parking lot of the studio.
I wasn't sure when we arrived, or how we arrived in one piece considering I wasn't paying attention.
"uh yeah sorry, just thinking about this meeting." I lied smoothly.
I just hope I can focus enough so I don't lose my job.
Reader
I finally settled in, unpacking my things and familiarizing myself with the layout of the house. It's been over two hours and the boys still aren't home.
I heard my stomach rumble.
I was starving.
I walked down to the kitchen, opening the fridge. I saw some ham and cheese.
Oh gosh a sandwich sounds good right now. I looked around in the cabinets, looking for the bread.
I finally found it, high up on a shelf.
Moose.
He needs to learn that not everyone is as freakishly tall as he is.
I stood on my tiptoes reaching for it, but alas I didn't get the height genes that Jared had. I huffed blowing a piece of hair from my face. I stood on my tiptoes trying again.
I heard a chuckle from behind me, causing me to snap my head back.
"need some help there baby moose?"
I blushed a deep red as Jensen came up behind me, reaching the bread with ease.
I could feel the heat radiating from his body just from the proximity.
I wondered what it would be like to be this close to him in a heated moment.
I let my imagination run wild for a moment before realizing he still lingered behind me.
He cleared his throat before stepping away.
I let out a shaky breath I didn't know I was holding.
"thanks." I whispered shyly.
"you know for a baby moose, you aren't all that tall." Jensen smirked.
"yeah, no Jar stole all those genes." I said causing him to chuckle.
"well baby moose I will gladly reach the bread for you anytime." Jensen said making me blush harder.
I'm sure I looked like an idiot from how bad I was blushing over his words.
"uh is Jared back?" I managed to choke out.
"uh not yet, they needed him to shoot a promo for the new season, he asked me to come check on you." Jensen said sitting down at the kitchen island.
I rolled my eyes at his protectiveness.
I was twenty two now.
I didn't need a babysitter.
"Jared still thinks I need a babysitter." I spoke as I took out two pieces of bread starting to make a sandwich.
"he's just worried about you."
"I can handle myself."
"I have no doubt about that." Jensen said.
I snuck a glance at him, accidentally meeting his eyes. He wore a smirk on his plump lips that got my heart racing.
"I have to, I mean now that you two are like major celebrities." I laughed.
"okay, hang on I was major celebrity before supernatural." Jensen joked.
I rolled my eyes throwing my cheese wrapper at him.
He dodged it with ease laughing at my antics.
"of course how I could I forget your starring role on Dawson's Creek."
"I don't know because I definitely made season six of that show." Jensen laughed.
“I never watched it.” I shrugged.
Okay that wasn’t exactly the truth.
I did watch it.
I watched it for him.
“well we’ll definitely have to change that.” Jensen said getting up from the island.
I let my eyes linger on his form as it retreated up the stairs.
I was hopeless.
I was completely hooked on someone I would never have.
I sighed sitting down and digging in to my sandwich. I didn’t realize how hungry I was.
I heard the door open, seeing Jared walk in.
He sat down beside me taking the other half of my sandwich.
“I made that for me you ass!” I whined hitting his chest.
“yeah out of my fridge!”
I rolled my eyes.
He had a point.
“how was your meeting?” I asked as we ate.
“really good, we’re all excited for filming to start.”
I wondered what it would be like to be on camera. I definitely didn’t have a face or body for film.
“actually there’s this party tomorrow, for the cast, kind of like a kick off to the new season, do you want to come with me?” Jared asked.
I was never a big fan of parties.
Jared always tried to get me to go to high school parties but it was never my thing.
“I guess, but just for you.” I said booping his nose.
I finished my sandwich, making sure to clean up after myself.
“I’m uh going to head to bed early, I’m exhausted from the flight.” I said giving Jared a hug.
I jogged up the steps towards my room. I felt the heat radiating from the bathroom as I passed it.
I could see the door was slightly cracked.
I peaked in seeing Jensen in only a towel.
He was wiping the condensation off the mirror.
I couldn’t stop my eyes from traveling over his toned chest and back.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I stared.
I would give anything to be able to run my hands down his body.
I bit my lip, forcing my body to move away from the door before I was caught staring.
I crashed on to the bed, letting my thoughts linger on the gorgeous man.
I wondered what his lips tasted like.
I wondered how it would feel to have his hands caressing my body as we kissed.
I wondered how his body would feel on top of mine.
I choked back a moan as I thought about him in such an intimate way.
A loud knock on my door tore me away from my thoughts.
I quickly sat up, I could feel just how flushed I was.
“uh come in.” I squeaked.
I was surprised when Jensen came in setting a laptop on my bed. I gave him a confused look as he typed away.
“Dawson’s Creek season six.” He smiled turning the laptop towards me.
I laughed as I brought the laptop to my lap.
“I’ll leave you to it.” Jensen said walking towards the door.
“aren’t you going to watch it with me?” I asked slightly disappointed.
“oh no, I never watch myself on tv, but make sure you pay attention cause I’m going to quiz you tomorrow.” He said.
I rolled my eyes at his antics.
“Goodnight Jensen.”
“Goodnight baby moose.”
I hit play, even though I had already seen every episode he was in.
I watched anyways.
I watched until I couldn’t keep my eyes open.
I watched until I fell into a deep slumber, plagued by dreams of a man I know I would never have.
I woke up to a light pounding on my door. It was bright out, but still appeared to be early morning.
Jared strode in wearing running gear.
It was nice to see he still took his morning runs.
It was something that always made him feel at peace, helped with his anxiety.
“ugh what time is it?” I groaned throwing a pillow over my head to block out the sun.
“five am, come on a run with me.” Jared beamed.
“Jared normal people don’t go for runs at five in the morning.”
“good thing you’re far from normal.” Jared joked pulling the pillow away from my face.
“I don’t want to go for a run, I want to sleep.” I pouted.
“pretty please, for me?”
I glanced up at Jared to see him giving me the puppy dog eyes.
Damn.
He knows I can’t say no to his puppy dog eyes.
“you better get me an extra large cup of coffee after this.” I groaned throwing my legs over the side of the bed.
I threw on some workout clothes, making my way downstairs. I was surprised to see Jensen standing in the kitchen in workout gear.
Fuck.
I was uncoordinated, and the last thing I wanted to do was run in front of Jensen.
“you managed to get baby moose to come, impressive.” Jensen smirked.
I rolled my eyes grabbing a bottle of water.
“I uh hope you didn’t stay awake too long watching your new favorite show.” Jensen said laughing.
“It was alright, Pacey is definitely my favorite character.” I shot back walking past him towards the door where Jared was waiting.
“and what about CJ?”
“I mean he was alright in the beginning I guess, turned in to kind of a dick.”
“oh yeah how so?”
“I mean he did sleep with Audrey even though he knew Jen was in to him, kind of a dick move.” I shrugged.
Jensen huffed rolling his eyes.
“I didn’t write the script.” Jensen shrugged.
“It might’ve been better if you did.” I said, giving him one last glance before starting to jog.
I jogged at a steady pace, close behind Jared and Jensen.
I was smaller then both of them, so I took smaller strides.
I have to admit I did feel at peace.
I enjoyed the gentle morning canadian breeze nipping at my cheeks.
I was taking in all the beautiful sights around me.
I liked it here.
It seemed like we weren’t jogging for long before we were stopping at a little coffee shop.
“I believe I owe you an extra large cup of coffee.” Jared said glancing at me.
“I believe you are correct.”
“I’ll be right back, you want anything J?” Jared asked turning towards Jensen.
“nah man I’m alright.”
Jared nodded at us before disappearing inside the coffee shop.
It was silent as I stared at the quiet street, the town not quite awake yet.
“did you really hate CJ?” Jensen spoke making me glance at him.
“I think hate is a strong word, more thoroughly disliked him.” I laughed.
Jensen furrowed his eyebrows as I chuckled.
Was this bothering him?
“I like the guy who plays him better.” I spoke, not thinking about how it sounded.
I felt my cheeks heat up as I realized what I just said.
“oh well good.” Jensen responded, rubbing his neck nervously.
I was about to respond when Jensen grabbed my arm pulling me to his chest.
“Careful!” he shrieked as the coffee shop door flung open, almost smacking me in the face.
I swallowed nervously as he stared down at me, our bodies pressed together.
It felt even better than I had imagined.
“thanks for that.” I whispered tearing my eyes away from his.
I felt as if my heart would jump out of my chest at any moment from how fast it was beating.
I could feel his eyes lingering on me.
Jensen carefully tucked a piece of hair behind my ear that had fallen from my ponytail.
I shivered at his touch, feeling as if my body was suddenly engulfed in flames.
It felt good to be touched by him.
It felt heavenly.
I quickly jumped away from him, hearing Jared’s voice reappearing.
“what’s going on?” Jared asked looking between me and Jensen.
“uh baby moose is as clumsy as you say.” Jensen smirked, causing Jared to laugh.
I rolled my eyes taking my coffee from Jared.
I walked back to the condo as Jensen and Jared jogged ahead.
I was taking time to sip my coffee.
I was taking time to control my racing heart.
what in the world happened back there?
I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming.
Ouch.
Okay that hurt.
and I’m not dreaming.
I bit my lip trying to fight the smile that made it’s way to my face.
I have no idea what that was.
but I liked it.
I liked it a lot.
I made it back to the condo, being informed that the boys had to go to the studio to shoot more promos for the new season, and that they’d be back to get me for the party tonight. I gave them a wave, crashing on to the couch from exhaustion.
I remember now why I don’t run at five in the morning.
I grabbed a blanket off the couch, curling up to catch a few more hours of sleep.
I woke up around noon, sleeping later than I would’ve liked.
I got up making myself some breakfast.
I passed the time watching more Dawson’s Creek.
It wasn’t like I had anything else to do.
It was starting to get later, I needed to get ready for this party.
I grabbed a simple mini dress throwing it on.
I glanced at my reflection in the mirror.
I didn’t completely hate what I saw.
I didn’t love it either.
I wasn’t anything exceptional.
It was no wonder I was so invisible.
I heard the boys come back home, stomping up the stairs like a herd of elephants.
I put a light coat of makeup on, before brushing through my hair.
I heard my door opening, making me glance over.
Jared stood there in a button up and some jeans.
“you look beautiful.” Jared smiled.
“thanks moose, you look, well very moose like.” I laughed as Jared gave me an annoyed look.
“come on brat, it’s time to go.” Jared said rolling his eyes.
I grabbed my purse, following him down the stairs. Jensen stood there waiting, wearing an outfit similar to Jared’s.
He looked handsome.
He looked flawless.
I could feel his eyes linger on me as I descended the staircase.
“ready to go?” Jensen asked looking at me and Jared.
I nodded my head nervously.
I didn’t like parties.
I would suffer through this one for Jared.
and maybe a little bit to be with Jensen.
I played with the hem of my dress as Jensen drove. It was a silent car ride, nobody bothering to make conversation.
I sighed as Jensen pulled up to the studio.
I hesitantly got out, already overwhelmed with the number of cars in the parking lot.
I could feel the nerves taking over my body making it shake slightly.
I felt a hand on my shoulder making me relax a little.
“it’s going to be okay, just stick with me.” Jared said offering a smile.
I gave him a forced one, following him and Jensen inside.
Jensen disappeared immediately when we got in, going to hug various cast and crew members.
I have to admit I got a little jealous watching him hug multiple women.
It wasn’t like I had a right to be.
Jensen looked right through me.
I just had to accept that.
“I want you to meet Jim.” Jared said grabbing my hand and pulling me to an older gentleman.
I made sure to act super polite as I met various cast and crew members that I hadn’t met the first season.
I felt like Jared’s shadow as he made his way around the room. I didn’t know anyone really except for Jensen and Jeffery Dean Morgan.
I had already talked to Jeff for a little so now I had nothing else to do except following Jared around like a lost puppy dog.
It was exhausting listening to conversations I didn’t really care about.
I needed some air.
I quietly slipped out the door, not that anyone would notice I was gone.
Jared was too busy basking in the limelight.
I was happy for him, don’t get me wrong, it’s just hard to be in his shadow sometimes.
I sighed looking around the studio parking lot. A bunch of trailers sat on the lot, with names of cast members etched on the doors. I found the one that said Jared Padalecki, and took a seat on the steps.
It was a beautiful night out.
It was quiet.
I took a deep breath blowing it out of my nose in a huff.
“you know the parties inside right?”
I jumped as Jensen’s voice took me by surprise.
“geez Jensen I never noticed how observant you were.” I joked rolling my eyes at him.
“not a fan of parties huh?”
“uh not really, they were always sort of Jared’s thing.” I answered with a shrug.
“yeah they’re not so much my thing either, too many people.” Jensen said.
I nodded my head, an awkward silence falling between us.
“uh do you want to see my trailer?” Jensen asked.
I felt the all too familiar heat creep up my spine.
“uh okay.” I whispered, flushed.
Jensen extended his hand pulling me to my feet.
It turns out his trailer was right beside Jared’s. He opened the door allowing me to step in.
It had his wardrobe for Dean in it, a small couch, a mini fridge, and a bathroom. I let my fingers graze over his costumes, observing a few articles closely.
“It’s nice.” I smiled plopping on the couch.
It was rather comfy for a small sofa.
“perks of being like a major celebrity.” Jensen smirked, quoting me from yesterday.
Jensen sat down beside me, our bodies just inches from each other due to the small size of the sofa.
“I’m uh glad you’re here baby moose, Jared’s a lot happier when you are.” Jensen said giving me a smile.
“I’m glad I’m here too.”
It was quiet, another awkward silence falling between us.
“we should probably head back inside, people are going to wonder where we are.” Jensen said standing up.
I stood up too.
“wondering where you are maybe, in case you haven’t noticed I’m pretty good at being invisible.” I said with a slight frown.
“well I can see you.”

never grow up - d.w
Pairing; Dean & sister!reader
Synopsis; Based on the song by Taylor swift
Warnings; None
Notes; This is kinda random but also ties in with my post a few days ago about being the middle child in the Winchester family :)
Masterlist
‘Your little hands wrapped around my finger. And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Dean didn’t understand what his parents had meant when they told him he would be a big brother. All he knew was that his mom had a baby in her stomach and in a few month’s the baby would come out.
Now his mom smiled softly as she gently placed a small baby on his lap. He grinned at her from his spot on the hospital bed before looking down at the baby. “She’s so small.” He looked between his parents and his dad chuckled at his comment. “You were that small once bud.”
Dean looked at him with wide eyes. “I was?” He sounded almost astonished at his Dads comment as both his parents fell into quiet laughter. After a moment he felt something grip onto his small thumb and his attention was drawn back down to his sister.
Her little hand had wrapped around his thumb and she was now gazing up at him. “I think she likes you.” His mom whispered before pressing a kiss to his head. Dean grinned up at her for a moment before cuddling further into her chest.
He still didn’t truly understand what his parents meant by being a big brother, but he knew that he would always protect her from this moment onwards.
‘I won't let anybody hurt you, won't let anyone break your heart. And no one will desert you. Just try to never grow up, never grow up'
“Dean. Are you awake?” Your brother let out a small groan before rolling over to face you. “Y/n it's three in the morning why are you awake?” He frowned at you before a look of concern took over his face. As his eyes adjusted to the dark he noticed the unleashed tears brimming your eyes and the way your hands shook slightly.
“I killed someone.” Your voice was barely a whisper as you spoke. Your hands seemed to shake harder as you gripped the thin sheets closer to your chest. “Someone dead cause of me.”
Dean shook his head sitting up and pulling you with him. “No. You didn’t kill someone ok. They were bitten and had fed y/n, it was only a matter of time before they turned.” He kept his voice low not wanting to wake Sam or your Dad who were both asleep across the room.
“Still. He hadn’t turned yet.” You sniffled leaning onto his chest. “Dad told me this job is about saving people Dean. How is that saving people.” Your brother didn’t say anything as he wrapped his arms around you tighter.
You were only 14, you shouldn’t have to deal with this. Hell, he never imagined that at 16 he would be spending his time cleaning guns and learning how to kill monsters. Dean understood why his Dad did what he did and he understood why he’d chosen now to start letting you on hunts but at the same time, it made him feel slightly sick.
The idea of his little sister doing this job left him with a bad feeling in his stomach (he didn't want to even think of Sam doing it) Dean swayed slightly as he tried to soothe you as best he could. “I know you don't think it now, but you did the right thing y/n. I promise.”
You nodded against his chest before pulling back and whipping at your eyes. “Come on. We need to be up in a few hours.” Your brother moved to lie down before opening his arms for you. You happily settled into his arms, feeling his hand run through your hair.
You both lay in silence for a while. The sound of his heartbeat slowly lulled you back to a dreamless sleep.
Dean closed his eyes sucking in a breath before relaxing. Life was so much easier when you were younger. If he had it his way you and Sam would never have to worry about the things that went bump in the night. He’d happily let you both live in peaceful ignorance as long as you were both safe and happy.

The Price of Love (Deanmon)
Summary: you never knew how far-gone Dean had become.
Warnings: angst, deanmon
WC: 935
Read on AO3!
--
The world felt as though it had been shattered.
You stood frozen, staring at Dean’s face—Dean’s demon face, with his blackened, heartless eyes—and it was as though the ground had dropped out from under you. You could barely comprehend the words that had just left his mouth.
The man you loved—the man you had spent years by the side of, fighting, loving, struggling with—was gone.
He wasn’t the same anymore.
Dean Winchester, the man you thought you knew, was now something twisted, something corrupted, something else.
You had seen it in his eyes the moment the change happened. The coldness, the dark glimmer, the sudden absence of the warmth that had once been there. It had started small at first—just a flicker of something wrong—but now, it was undeniable. The demon that had taken him wasn’t just in his body. It had consumed every part of him, every ounce of the man you had loved so deeply.
And you? You had let yourself believe that he still loved you. That he still cared for you, no matter what. After all, you were his family.
But now, standing in front of you, was a monster wearing his face. His voice but twisted with something foreign. “You thought I was in love with you?”
You didn’t want to believe it. You couldn’t.
Dean—your Dean—would never say that.
But the demon inside him had no such qualms.
The demon laughed, a deep, mocking chuckle that made your stomach churn. It was cold, calculated, and it tore through you like a knife.
“You’re pathetic,” the demon spat, voice dripping with disdain. “I never cared about you, not like you think I did. I was just using you, sweetheart. You were convenient. You thought I was your hero, but I was just a warm body to keep you occupied.”
The words cut through you like a blade, each syllable slicing deeper. Your heart thudded painfully in your chest, but you couldn’t tear your gaze away from him.
“You—you lied,” you gasped, your voice trembling, barely able to hold back the tears. “You—you promised me.”
The demon’s smirk grew, and the sight made your blood run cold. “Promises? You’re as naive as he was. I don’t owe you anything. Not a single damn thing.”
His words were venom, and yet they felt like a slap to your very soul. You could feel the truth of them sinking in, the unbearable weight of everything you had believed being ripped away. The love you thought was real, the trust you had placed in him, the future you had imagined with him—all of it was a lie.
A lie that had been hidden behind that perfect smile, behind that gentle laugh. Behind the man who had held you close and made you feel safe.
But it was all gone now.
You stepped back, as if the physical distance might somehow create a space between you and the crushing reality. You tried to steady yourself, but your legs felt like they could no longer support you. The pain was suffocating, a heavy weight that pressed on your chest, stealing the breath from your lungs.
“You’re not him,” you whispered, more to yourself than to the demon.
“No, I’m not,” the demon agreed smoothly, its eyes gleaming with something dark and cruel. “And I never will be again.”
“Please… please, just let me go.”
The words spilled out in desperation, your voice breaking on the last word. You wanted to run. You wanted to escape the hellish reality in front of you, to wake up from this nightmare where the love of your life was gone, replaced by something evil.
But the demon just smirked again, its eyes narrowing.
“Where are you going to go, sweetheart? No one’s coming to save you.”
You flinched as his words dug deep, but you couldn’t look away. The emotional toll was unbearable, but a part of you still longed for him—the man who used to be Dean. The part of you that clung to the hope that somewhere, deep down, the real Dean was still in there, fighting to break free from the demon’s grasp.
But it was all just a fantasy now.
Dean had been gone for so long, and all that remained was this… thing in his place.
Without thinking, you stepped forward, your voice trembling with what was left of your courage. “I loved you. I would have done anything for you.”
The demon’s eyes flickered with something you couldn’t quite place, a brief flash of something familiar before it was gone again. For a moment, there was an almost human-like hesitation in his gaze, as though he was remembering something.
But then, it was gone, and the demon’s expression hardened once more.
“And I never asked you to,” it said coldly.
You closed your eyes, swallowing the sob that was threatening to break free. You wanted to scream, to beg for Dean back, but there was no one left to hear you.
The demon gave you a final look, a smirk still playing on his lips. “You were never important. Just another casualty. Get used to it.”
And then, before you could even react, he was gone.
You stood alone in the empty room, the silence deafening. The weight of his words crushed you, and with it, the realization that you had been nothing more than a tool, a distraction.
You thought you were loved. You thought you mattered.
But it was all a lie.
And now, all you could do was pick up the pieces of your shattered heart and figure out how to survive in a world where the man you had loved—Dean Winchester—was lost to you forever.

When It All Falls Apart -Chapter 4
Pairing- Jensen x Padalecki Reader
Word count- 2,648
Warnings-Pregnancy talk (Will last a good chunk of the story) But it's not the reader. Some language. Implied smut. Jensen isn't the best boyfriend. I warned before this started posting it would contain angst, if you need another reminder, here it is. If I missed something let me know!
A/N-A little off canon, SPN ended after 10 years. We still got all the characters in during that time though. Thank you to @writercole and @leigh70 for your help with this. You two are amazing!!
Summary-Y/N Padalecki loved acting on Supernatural. Working alongside your older brother and your boyfriend, but after ten seasons the guys have chosen to hang up the guns. Now the three of you are moving on to other projects, but that’s all that needs to change right? While you have moved to Austin to be closer to your family and boyfriend, Jensen is working elsewhere. Distance is only the start of your troubles.
Series Masterlist
“You’re back, you’re back, you’re back!!” A small voice screams while climbing on your bed way to early Monday morning.
“I am, and I was sleeping Tom.”
“Wanna come play with me?”
Rolling over you squint at the clock, and almost swear out loud when you see it says 5:15. “Thomas, I love you, but no. I will play with you later, Aunt Y/N had a long weekend and would like a little more sleep. Why are you even up so early?”
“Scary noises in mommy and daddy’s room. I called mommy but she didn’t come, do you think they got hurt.?
“No, but they’re going to,” you mutter to yourself. To your nephew, “how about you lay with me for a bit and I’ll play with you later, after breakfast, okay?”
He huffs out his agreement, and the two of you manage to drift back off to sleep. Two hours later you are following the little guy down to the kitchen. No one else is up yet, so you help Tom get his breakfast and pour yourself a glass of juice before sitting down next to him.
A perky Gen soon makes an appearance. “Hey, how are you two doing this morning?”
“Aunt Y/N got me breakfast,” Tom answers.
“Oh she did, that was nice of her.” She turns to you, “thanks for helping him. I’m surprised he’s up so early, he was trying his best to stay awake until you and Jared got home last night.
“Scary noises woke him up, he came into my room a little after 5.”
“What scared him?”
“From what he said it was you and my brother doing something I don’t even want to think about. But Tom just thinks someone was getting hurt.”
Her jaw drops at your words, “Oh, snap. We didn’t mean to wake him up, it's just these dang pregnancy hormones have me all…”
“Nope, nope, nope, there are some things that go on with you and my brother, I don’t need to know about. At least someone is getting some.”
“What don’t you need to know about your brother,” Jared asks, walking into the kitchen.
“Apparently, we got a little loud this morning and woke Tom. He in turn went and woke up Y/N.” She then turns to you, “what did you mean about that last part? Didn’t you just see Jay?”
“Yeah, but we had separate rooms. Wasn’t exactly the weekend I was hoping for, but he said he’ll be here this weekend. So, I’ll be clearing out of your house for the weekend.”
“What are your birthday plans for Saturday?” Gen wonders.
“I don’t know, Jensen didn’t say. I’ll try and get it out of him later this week. I’m good with a day hanging out at the house, I don’t need anything special.”
You grab a muffin from the counter as you are leaving the kitchen. Walking into the living room, you listen for Tom, trying to figure out where he ran off too. You hear giggling behind the couch and decide to sit down there.
“I came to see if Tom wanted to play, but I guess he isn’t here.” Next thing you know he is running around from behind the back.
“I’m right here!”
You spend some time with him before taking a trip to the grocery store for Gen. Back at the house you spend a little time out by the pool before helping her with dinner.
The three of you are sitting on the patio after eating watching Tom play in the yard, when Jared turns to look at you.
“So what do you think of Ackles’ news? I think it’s about damn time, I’ve been telling him he should do that for years.”
You turn to your brother in confusion, trying to figure out what he means. Nothing comes to mind. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“The album.”
“What album?”
It’s Jared's turn to stare. “Are you just pretending not to know? You don’t have to, he told us about it at dinner Saturday night. Dude seems pretty excited about it.”
“Jared, again, what album?”
“You really don’t know?” he asks.
“That’s been established, babe. Let’s move on to the explanation,” Gen cuts in.
“Ackles is making an album with his buddy Steve Carlson. They’ve been working out the details and writing over skype calls. You seriously didn’t know?”
“No, he never said a word.” Great, you think, one more thing to keep him busy.
“Maybe I wasn’t supposed to tell you, make sure you act surprised alright?”
“Sure.”
The conversation dies down, and you spend a few more minutes watching Tom before you excuse yourself to head to your room. You don’t even try to reach out to Jensen tonight, what Jared has told you shows you are just moving further down the list of his priorities.
Thursday comes around, and you hadn’t heard from Jensen since you’ve been back. You have texted him, two you saw were read, another one still hasn’t been. That evening you give him a call, trying to figure out your weekend plans.
“Hey honey, how’s it going?” you ask when he finally picks up the phone.
“Fine, I’m just walking into my place. It’s been a long week, the scenes we’re filming this week are something else.” He goes on to tell you a little more, without giving many spoilers away. “So what’s up?” he finally turns the conversation back over to you.
“I had a few questions for you. First one, what time are you flying in? I’ll come pick you up.”
“You don’t have to drive all the way over there. I’ve already got it covered.”
“The airport is just half an hour away.”
“I’m not flying into Austin, I’m going to Dallas.”
“Oh. Stopping to see your parents before coming home?”
“I’m staying in Dallas this weekend. Mack and Josh want to have a family get together on Sunday, they have been hounding me about coming home this weekend. I’ve got some meetings on Saturday, and I’m flying back here Sunday night.”
“Oh.”
“Jared said your parents were coming back to Austin Saturday night, so I figured you’d be busy all weekend.”
“Yeah, right.”
“Did you have another question?”
“Nope, not anymore.”
“Okay, I’m filthy and beat, so I’m going to go hop in the shower. Have a good night. Love you.”
“Yeah, love you too, Jay.”
That phone call definitely dampened your spirits. Maybe he was still going to surprise you Saturday, and he didn’t really have any meetings.
Gen takes you out for a mani/pedi on Friday, then out to lunch. While you are sitting in a quiet corner booth she starts talking about your plans for the next day.
“Any idea what you and Jay are doing tomorrow?”
“No, he said he wasn’t coming to Austin. He has meetings in Dallas and then is spending time with his parents. I think he’s just trying to surprise me.”
“I’m sure. After all the craziness I bet he just wants to do something special for you.”
You smile and nod, hoping she is right, but something in your gut has you wondering.
“Well, we’ll be home all day hanging by the pool if the two of you want to join us. His pool isn’t open yet, right?”
“No, since he wasn’t going to be around and I was busy and mostly spending time at your place.”
“I didn’t think so. We can order from your favorite Italian place for dinner.”
“Thanks, I’ll see what tomorrow brings and what he is thinking.”
Your food comes and you discuss some of the plans for Father’s Day on Sunday.
Saturday morning hits you like an almost four year old tornado. You are sleeping soundly when your door bursts open and Tom is throwing himself on your bed.
“Happy Birthday, Aunt Y/N!! Happy Birthday!”
“Thanks, Tom,” you groan, rolling over.
“Thomas Padalecki, didn’t I tell you not to wake her up?” Gen scolds her son from the doorway.
“I’m sorry Y/N, but happy birthday since you’re awake now,” she says, turning to you.
“Thanks Gen, it’s alright I should get moving anyway.”
“Daddy said he’d make breakfast this morning.”
“Is he even awake yet?” you question looking at the clock, surprised when it actually says 7:48. Tom wasn’t as early as he could be some mornings.
“He’s in the kitchen with his grown up drink.”
You look over at Gen, too sleepy to understand why your brother is drinking this early.
“He’s downstairs with his coffee.”
“That makes more sense then I was thinking.” Tom rolls off of you so you can crawl out of bed. Throwing a sweatshirt over your pajama top you follow your family downstairs.
“Morning birthday girl,” Jared greets you with a smile.
“Morning, I hear you are cooking breakfast,” you reply, sitting down on a kitchen stool next to Tom.
“I made your favorite, blueberry pancakes and a cup of hot chocolate. Gen says you need to go all out for birthdays, so she cooked some orange cinnamon rolls.”
“Wow, thanks guys.”
Tom hops down and runs off all of a sudden, you look to the other two in the kitchen, both of them shrugging. Then you hear his little feet running back. “I made you a card,” he yells out, as he waves it in front of you.
“You did, thanks buddy.”
You enjoy a nice breakfast, before going up to shower and get yourself ready for the day. Throwing on shorts and a tank top, you throw a few makeup things in a bag you might need if you have to dress up later to go out. After saying your goodbyes you leave for Jensen’s. Gen is sure to remind you of her offer again.
You pick up a few things around the house, water the plants and go through a few of your things. Your phone has gone off multiple times with text messages from friends, your parents have called, but no Jensen. Changing into your bathing suit you go out back to lay in the sun until you hear something.
Your phone rings as you are walking into the house for a cold glass of water, “Hi Donna, how are you?” you greet Jensen’s mom on the other end of the line.
“Happy Birthday, sweetie. I’m fine, how is your day going?”
“It’s good. I’m just hanging out at Jensen’s house right now.”
“Are you doing anything special today?”
“I don’t know. Jensen just told me that he had meetings today, I think he’s hiding his plans.”
“He left this morning, but didn’t tell us what his plans were. I hope you have a wonderful day. Alan wants to talk to you, I’ll talk to you later. Love you sweetie, happy birthday again.”
“Thank you Donna! I’ll talk to you soon, enjoy your weekend.”
Alan gets on the phone next to wish you a happy birthday, you talk to him for a few minutes before wishing him an early happy Father’s Day and saying your goodbyes.
A short time later another call comes through, “Hey,” you answer.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!!!” is yelled from the other end of the line.
“Thanks Mack, how are you?”
“I’m good. Wasn’t sure if you were going to answer, or if you were busy with my brother. I’m glad I caught you. How are you doing?”
“I’m okay. I haven’t seen your brother yet, I’m just hanging out at the house right now. How is that new husband of yours?”
“He’s good.’
“Any big summer plans?”
“Not really. We need to get together soon. When do you wrap that mini series you’re doing?”
“We finished last week, I’m out of work until Walker starts.”
“Okay, we definitely need to figure something out then. I won’t keep you. Have a fabulous birthday, talk soon. Bye girl.”
“Thanks. Bye Mack, take care.”
You get off the phone with a smile. You and Mackenzie weren’t too far apart in age, and had always gotten along very well.
As you are walking back outside, another text comes in. Looking down, you are quickly disappointed to see it isn’t Jensen. As long as you have been together, if he isn’t with you in the morning he has always been the first phone call you would receive in the morning.
Another hour passes and it’s almost 2 o’clock now. Gen’s name comes across your screen as your phone lights up again.
“Hey, just to see if you know your plans for the night yet.”
“I don't know. He's not here, and I haven’t talked to him today.” You refuse to call him at this point.
“You haven’t heard anything? Y/N, come back here and hang out with us. He can find you when he comes to town, but I don’t want you to be alone.”
“Alright.”
Grabbing your things, you lock the house back up and make the short drive back to your brother's place. Jared and Tom are out in the pool when you arrive and Gen is waiting for you in the house. She gives you a big hug when you walk in.
“Are you alright?”
“Yeah, peachy.”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
“No, there is nothing to discuss. I’m beginning to think he really did have some meetings today. I’m not going to call and force him to talk to me. Besides, if he doesn’t answer, it’s just going to frustrate me more.
You spend the afternoon with them, your parents arrive early in the evening. Somehow you miss Jared sneaking out to get you a cake and your favorite ice cream. Dinner is ordered from your favorite Italian restaurant. You open your present from your parents. Once Tom goes to bed the adults gather in the living room to watch a movie.
Gen catches you when you are walking out of the living room. “This is from Jared and I. We got it a few days ago, but I wasn’t sure you would want to open it in front of your parents.”
Taking the envelope from her, you carefully tear it open. You laugh when you open it. Disney princesses are around the number 5 on the front.
“Your brother picked out the card. I made him put the ones about unicorn farts back.”
That has you snorting, “Sounds like Jared.”
You open the card and a plane ticket falls out, you look up at Gen.
“Jared called Eric last week to see when Jensen might have a lighter filming schedule. He gave him those dates, it’s next weekend. We weren’t sure how long you would want to stay, so it’s just four days right now, but you can change your return flight. I really hope this helps you two straighten everything out.”
“Thank you. I really hope so too.”
When you are getting ready for bed, your phone dings again. Checking the notification you see Jared has tagged you in an Instagram post. It’s a birthday message from him and Gen with some pictures from the day. You scroll down the home feed and see Jensen also has a new post from today. It’s not the usual birthday shout out he has done in the past, but a picture of him along with his friend Steve. The caption underneath says `Good time catching up with an old friend, making big plans.’
That must be a nod to the record Jared had mentioned. Closing your phone, you lay down and try to fall asleep. It’s a bit of a struggle. Your mind is racing with many thoughts tonight. After the last few months, should you really be surprised how today played out? How is your trip up to Toronto going to go? Will it help fix your relationship, or be the end?
Thank you for reading!
