Indie Pop Dynamo Jenn Vix has announced the release of explosive new feminist-themed single "Mr. Strange" via Umbrella Music Co. "Mr. Strange" continues her fearlessly outspoken lyricism and hunger for musical experimentation, as it fuses Indie Pop with Trap while detailing adventures with a male blow up doll. "Mr. Strange" was ​mastered by Colin Leonard, at SING, who has worked with Cardi B as well as Beyonce's new album. Vix herself is a multi-instrumentalist, adept at bass, lead guitar, synth, programming and vocals. She's also collaborated with legendary musicians such as Reeves Gabrels (David Bowie, Tin Machine, The Cure) Andy Anderson (Iggy Pop, The Cure) and John Ashton (The Psychedelic Furs). Her voice is sublime, razor sharp like Annie Lennox (Eurhythmics), along with the edgy spirit of Shirley Manson (Garbage), Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine), Halsey, Pink, and a few other musicians and singers who are not women. Andy Anderson, former Cure Drummer, Dead at 68

Andy Anderson, the former drummer of the Cure who recently announced he’d been diagnosed with terminal cancer, died Feb. 26, keyboardist/drummer Lol Tolhurst announced on social media.

“It's with a heavy heart, I have to report the passing of a Cure brother,” Tolhurst wrote.

“Andy Anderson was a true gentleman and a great musician with a wicked sense of humor which he kept until the end, a testament to his beautiful spirit on the last journey. We are blessed to have known him.”

After the Cure, Anderson, who was 68, worked with a number of artists including Iggy Pop, Glen Matlock, Peter Gabriel and others.

“I am gutted,” singer Jenn Vix said on Facebook, where she remembered Anderson as her “dear friend and music collaborator.”

“He was one of the nicest people I've ever known, and one of the best drummers in the world. This hurts so much.”

With every note sung, Providence's Jenn Vix tackles the demons hidden in the darkness and one's self. Her latest single "PTSD" is as personal as a song can be, as she takes on the hardships of dealing with an illness that can feel as heavy as it is lonely. The end result is a tough-as-nails drive through the psyche, with a synthwave coating that tastes more like neon blood than rainbow candy.  Released this past weekend, the song not only is a worthy place in anyone's playlist, but is also helping those suffering through mental illness via NAMI! We're delighted to have Jenn Vix offering her hand to those in need, as well as with her assistance with this week's Shameless Tuesdays!
