After what has been the longest hiatus from social media in our company's history, many of our followers are probably wondering where in the heck we've been last week and a half! Panda Chief (and social media manager) TanSnowMan returned just last night from the JenkStar Ranch, in the desolate and beautiful deserts of C. Utah, with stories, dust, and inspiration from the 6th annual Building Man S.L.A.M (Sustainable Living Arts and Music Festival), where he's been for the last 8 days... Since 2010, the Panda Chief has been part of co-producing the event alongside his fellow "JenkStars", whose ranch's intention is focused solely on creating lasting sustainable infrastructure, based upon the ideals of self sufficiency in a desert environment, community, art, music, expression, education, and recreation. The entire ranch is powered from solar or wind energy, and every structure is built from natural, reclaimed, or up-cycled materials, a.k.a. "Jenk". One of the recreational highlights of Building Man is an event created by TanSnowMan, dubbed "Little Girl's Bike Classic". Introduced in 2011, under the genre of "action sports performance art", the Panda Chief has been testing the limits of human curiosity as he dives headlong down sheer mountainsides on a little girl's bike with both tires flat, while chasing a bowling ball or other strange implement at top speed... Joining TanSnowMan for the 2015 LGBC was Panda co-founder Oakley White-Allen, who diced his first line ever on one of the gnarliest flanks of JenkStar! Unfortunately his run was not captured on film, however TanSnowMan's chest cam footage from this year's LGBC (run no. 2) should serve as a testament to the dedication and intensity of tackling this ludicrous and silly challenge...
