You couldn’t remember the last time the house had been so quiet; Michael had heard about a new bar opening across town, and everyone in the band had gone with him to check it out except for Jan, who’d chosen to stay home with you. You finished the last dish, placing it on the rack to dry, and then looked out the window at the sunset again. “Say, Jan, why don’t we go watch it from the hill?” You’d always wanted to sit on the hill behind the house and watch the sunset with Jan, and now was your chance.
