Jegulily but they all go to different schools and meet at a triwizard tournament.

All champions? maybe, or maybe one of them doesnt get picked and is bitter towards their own schools champion (kinda want that for James)

James has to go to Hogwarts, he needs to be in Godric Gryffindors house, its part of his personality. Beauxbatons Reg is an obvious choice but Durmstrang could work given their prefered subject matter. I like Durmstrang Lily a lot though, it seems like a school that only cares about students that are great at something - and she is. Also dark magic is part of her introduction to magic through Snape, before she knows how politicised it is, so it works well for her to go to a school that treats it as regular academics. Otherwise Hogwarts suits her better than Beauxbatons

So, someone asked in the MfJ community for fic recommendations with Jewish Remus, and @fourthemarauders claimed I'm an expert of some sort in the subject.

I'm glad to hear you think I'm an expert, but unfortunately there aren't many fics with this tag, and most of them are oneshots.

More to say, I myself am very picky when it comes to fanfictions, so I didn't read probably any of the 71 works under the combination tag remus/sirius + Jewish remus lupin.

With that being said - y'all are probably way less picky, so here I am, making a masterlist of all the works under these two tags that sounds somewhat bearable.

*Making a tag for my triwizard tournament au (not starting another WIP but I got a lot of ideas)*

I think theres some really interesting stuff to do with Lily's character because of the muggleborn thing. I'd either have her lie about it to get in (on Snape's advice I guess) and have to leave her family to maintain the lie. Or Id give Durmstrang the policy of allowing muggleborns in only if they cut off their birth family completely (since the 'danger' muggles pose to wizards is one of the reasons for keeping muggleborns out not just genes and this policy would resolve that).

Lily without any support network and who chose the pursuit of magic over her family when she was very young and then has to live with that as she grows up... I love that idea for an au. It makes her more invested in succeeding, less trusting but also more desperate for personal connections (maybe with some people from different schools/cultural spheres *wink*), and she has to contend with her own view on magic and whether its good for her and in general, especially if she's learning more dark stuff.

Also if Lily only knows how to apply to Durmstrang (they definitely dont reach out to muggleborns) because of her magical childhood friend who wants them both to go together. Then there's also a bit more weight on the idea that she owes him for bringing her into the magical world and makes it harder for her to resolve herself with letting the relationship go.

(I think the gender split thing is film only. It definitely is for Beauxbatons.)

durmstrang lily is my main motivation for this idea. she'd be so good. the darker social stuff to navigate and more space in academics for her to learn and make innovations and i know she'd suit fur hats.

also in my headcanon Durmstrang has always been selective and into individual achievement (comp to Beauxbatons as an aristocratic finishing school that then got opened up to more people post enlightenment era, and Hogwarts that does 4 different things) and Lily would both thrive in that environment and make so many enemies

thinking I'd want one task to be no wands. but you could bring in potions and artifacts and stuff, or do wandless magic so it would still be testing your proficiency, just in a slightly unusual way. lily could bring in her own invented potions that no one has ever seen before, definitely getting good advertisement for future funding of her mastery. reg could demonstrate his ability to use the very specific magic of weird artifacts to overcome obstacles they arent really suited to (that he totally doesnt have because they were all he had to help him get through childhood before he got a wand)
