I got to Experience Los Angeles Comic Con with my best friends in the entire world over my birthday weekend
We hit the road early in the morning on Thursday the 30th to form the Cross Guild (and Luffy) trip of a lifetime.
We picked up our bestie Fate (Mihawk) first and then headed out to Yeti's house to load up Mama Croc's Minivan.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I wore all the hats before loading them into the car, where we finally started the drive to Cali around 7-8am.
At some point we stopped at Eddie World, where my partner and I bought new friends, bat and platypus plushies we respectively named Jeff and Kiki.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the 30th as a special gift for my birthday weekend, we stopped at Forest Lawn Cemetery to visit Dwight Frye.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was an extremely emotional experience for me. I got to tell him how much me and my friends all appreciate his work and how much we all still love him and three little grass spiders crawled out onto the grave to say hello.
I also gave him a rose for everyone I know who wanted to pay their respects, which I truly believe made him happy.
I also cried like a bitch, but that's beside the point. It was incredibly special, the man is one of my heroes.
After that absolute emotional break mb, it still wasn't yet time to check into the hotel, so we swung by Little Tokyo for an early dinner (we each paid for dinner one of the four nights we were there, which was so much fun) I could not have asked for better people to spend my con weekend with.
Tumblr media
The hotel was TINY. Like, you had to turn sideways to walk around the bed tiny, but we somehow managed to not kill each other despite sharing a room with no privacy or space (which is just a testament to our friendship tbh)
But, we all managed to make it work and we successfully got our room settled and sorted, picked up our badges Friday around noon (LACC did a fantastic job with their ADA stuff, despite a small hiccup with the stickers.)
We got to be Robin and Raven for the short day, did some shopping (I got some great birthday presents from everyone) and then my Rayray did a shoot in the room, which came out AMAZING.
ON THIS, THE DAY OF MY BIRTHDAY
December 2nd finally arrived! It's my birthday, I got to cosplay as my favorite character, my partner was my other favorite character, and my whole crew cosplayed One Piece with me!
My bestie Fate got to attend Thankmas in the morning, and then we all got back together to get a group photo with Jamie Campbell Bower (and I got a special solo one because it was my birthday)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was so sweet and nice, and he almost killed me when he called me gorgeous. The picture was me freaking out a little, but it's fine. Lol He made my entire life.
The last day of con, I had also gotten the opportunity to get Jamie's signature - to which I decided to get my fanart of Henry and Eddie/Kas signed by him.
Not only did he specifically choose a pen that complimented the art (because he wanted it to look nice - I love him) but he asked if it was him and Joseph Quinn to which I said yes, it's Henry and Eddie, and he told me it was SEXY. He also wished me a happy birthday and told me I don't look a day over 19, which was wonderful since I'm 33. So, ya know...
Jamie Campbell Bower thinks my art is sexy and that I still look young and fresh. That's my accomplishment in life, I guess. Pretty good accomplishment, if you ask me...
Tumblr media
And now Jamie also has a copy of this piece, which I hope he loves.
It truly has been the best birthday I've ever had and I couldn't have asked to spend it with better people.
I already miss my Cross Guild and I can't wait for the next event we attend together.
I never hoped to have friends as wonderful as I do in adult life. I love them so much and they love me just as much back. It's been so amazing having them in my life, I can't even begin to express how grateful I am.

Couples Outfits 🎃
Themed request! If possible. Feel free to say no :D I was thinking of Eddie and his GF being invited to Steve’s Halloween party, gf wants to do a couple's costume but Eddie is not so sure or is sure but has different ideas (kinda like Sheldon and Amy in big bang theory when they can’t decide on a theme). Anyways they have a small argument as Eddie is being very uncooperative. Gf decides to go to a party dressed up as something she suggested, Eddie turns up at the party in a matching outfit cos he’s a softie who loves his girl and it makes her so happy, they make-up and all is well :) again feel free to say no! Love your work!
Request by anon
Warnings; Fluff, little bit of spice at the end. Just short and sweet. Eddie being soft for his girl 💞
💞
"Eddie" she whines and he frowns and hates that she's pouting right now. That pout of hers and her pretty eyes usually means that he rarely says no to his princess.
However, this time he was not budging.
"Princess I love you so much, but I am not doing a couples outfit for Harrington's Halloween party".
She sighs. It's been the same argument for the last half hour.
"You wouldn't even want to dress up as Princess Leia and Han Solo?" he pauses as she says this.
Han Solo was cool but he still wasn't sure about a couples costume, the Hellfire boys would take the absolute piss out of him.
"Yn I am not doing a couples costume and that's it!" he winces he didn't mean to snap and she scowls and snaps back.
"Fine! then her tone gets softer, okay, I won't force you to do it, Eddie, I'll just dress up myself" she kisses his cheek and his stomach sinks.
He feels like an ass that he is saying no and just worrying about what his friends will think.
Jesus h Christ he is an ass.
💞
Despite Eddie not being keen on the couple's costume idea she still decides to go as Princess Leia and had Chrissy and Robin help her get the hairstyle perfect.
She sought for the outfit or at least a very similar one and found a beautiful white gown, with a hood and long flowing sleeves.
The secret was that under the outfit she had found a cosplay of Princess Leia's iconic gold bikini and she could wait to see what Eddie thought of it.
Eddie should be here any minute now, he was just helping Jeff and Gareth with their costumes.
When he finally does come into the house her heart skips a beat. He's Han Solo, he's got the outfit done to perfection.
The long-sleeved white henley, black vest, dark pants and his boots looked so good, his hair was tied in a bun and he even had a hols holster too.
He looked so good and he approaches her with a shy smile on his features.
"You look, so so good, thank you for doing this Eddie" she moans and he moves closer to her kissing her forehead.
"Han Solo is fucking cool babe and I can never say no to my sweet princess, you look absolutely beautiful by the way".
She smirks.
"Wait until you see what's underneath it" she teases and his eyes light up and she can tell his thoughts are on that all through the party.
🍁🎃
When they finally head back to Eddie's trailer she heads to the bathroom and takes off the white dress like Princess Leia's and pulls on her long silk dressing gown and heads back out to Eddie who's taking off his boots and is just shrugging off the black vest.
"Eddie baby? Do you want to see what's under here?" she twirls the ties of her dressing gown toying with him and his gaze fills with lust.
He watches as she takes off the dressing down and his jaw drops.
"Jesus h Christ" he whimpers and he pulls her to him where she can feel how hard he is and she kisses his neck.
"You like?" she asks him batting her eyes at him and the next thing she knows he is dropping down to his knees and leaving butterfly kisses over her stomach.
"You look incredible my princess" she giggles as his hair tickles her skin and he smiles up at her with such adoration and love in his eyes.
"I'm going to absolutely worship you my Queen" and then he's standing up kissing her deeply and she returns the kiss eagerly.

I have been cosplaying Genie for about 5 years now.  I began working on him because Robin Williams is my celebrity hero and I have loved the character since I was young.  I wanted to do a character that wasn’t seen at cons very often as well as wanted to learn special effects makeup.  I looked into basic makeups and how to apply bald caps and body paint. For almost every cosplay I do, I learn a new skill.  The fun is in the challenge of the project and seeing peoples reactions to it.  When I was nearly finishing this cosplay, Robin Williams passed away.  A small part of me didn’t want to take the cosplay that year out of respect to him, but decided that wearing that costume was the best way to honor him.
With any costume, I like to break it down into smaller components.  I want to be respectful to the characters original design and still make it my own.  While researching I found a live show that was at the Disneyland park that starred Jeff Sumner as the Genie.  The designs on his costume were exceptionally close to how I wanted mine to be, and best of all, most of his blue was a bodysuit.  That was a game changer for me.  This helped me design the other pieces of the costume.  I still wanted to add more detail and a new idea popped in my head. Wouldnt it be cool if I put small nods to the different actors who have played the Genie? At this point, I was listening to the Broadway soundtrack and really fell for James Monroe Igleharts performance.  He had so much style, and glitz and glamour to his Genie.  So I found a pants fabric that was VERY close to his costume and I hand placed about 800 swarovski crystals onto the pants.   I was also able to get a replica of James’ lamp.  This was the base for the costume until recently when the live-action movie came out.  Will Smith knocked the role out of the park and I ended up falling in love with his design too.  I created a new top knot hair piece out of foam covered in crepe wool and made more ornate gauntlets.  And I added more gemstones to the gauntlets to continue that glitsy feel and tie the accessories to the pants.  I used to wear legitimate Khussa shoes (Traditional wedding slippers) but they had wooden bottoms and REALLY hurt my feet lol.
I used to work as a costumer at my state’s primary theatre.  I had no clue cosplay was a thing, and when my time as a costumer (over 5 summer seasons of work) was finished, cosplay allowed me to continue to sharpen my skills.  I also found something that made me extremely happy.  When I began looking into cosplay I found a few local groups that visited children’s hospitals in full costume.  We would visit the kids and do everything we could to brighten their days and those visits have been some of my most cherished experiences. Genie was able to make some REAL magic.

Event Report: NorthEast Comic Con (Spring 2019)
Tumblr media
Back in November, I spent my Thanksgiving weekend attending my first NorthEast Comic Con & Collectibles Extravaganza. Having had a blast, I was excited to return for the next semi-annual event. Thankfully, I didn't have to wait very long, as its Spring 2019 edition occurred over Saint Patrick's Day weekend. I returned to the Regency Hotel in Boxboro, Massachusetts on March 16 to experience all the celebrities, panels, comedy, concerts, vendors, and other fun it had to offer.
Tumblr media
The afternoon kicked off with a panel featuring iconic comedian/actor Gilbert Gottfried (Aladdin). He was funny, as he naturally is, but this was not a standup set; it was an honest conversation. He discussed everything from the recent fake outrage over his not being in the new Aladin film and the controversial jokes that resulted in his being fired as the voice of the Aflac Duck, to being raised on the Universal monster movies (and questioning why the Wolf Man dressed so well if he knew he was going to transform into a werewolf) and comedy in the modern age. ("The internet makes me feel sentimental for old-time lynch mobs," he quipped.)
Prompted by audience questions, Gottfried also talked about his ad-libbing on Aladdin (during which he would occasionally have to be stopped and reminded that it was family film), working with John Ritter on Problem Child (which no one thought was going to be a hit), Howard Stern, Hollywood Squares, Wife Swap, his Amazing Colossal Podcast, and more. Never one to miss an opportunity for an off-color joke, Gottfried responded to a comment about a failed TV pilot by stating, "Buddy Holly has better luck with pilots than I do." The session was recorded for the The Boston Comedy Podcast, so you'll be able to hear it in its entirety soon.
Tumblr media
Later in the day, I caught another panel with Nicholas Brendon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Criminal Minds fame. With no need for a host, the animated and entertaining Brendon began by riffing on the likes of tuna casserole to cannibalism for a few minutes before launching into the entire story of how he was cast on Buffy (in which he went from production assistant on Dave's World to reluctant actor, then booked Buffy a mere two months later). He was open and honest about his past struggles, but he has turned over a new leaf and is now giving back by using his celebrity to raise awareness for mental health.
In addition to Gottfried and Brendon, the guest list included Chris Rankin (Harry Potter franchise), Gigi Edgley (Farscape), Ann Robinson (The War of the Worlds), Mark Goddard (Lost in Space), Clayton Prince (Hairspray), animation producer Jeff Kline (Transformers Prime), Emmy Award-winning puppeteer Bill Diamond (Little Shop of Horrors), author and Squirrel Girl co-creator Will Murray, Disney comics writer Joe Caramagna (Duck Tales, Frozen), cartoonist Guy Gilchrist (The Muppets), and paranormal investigator Kadrolsha Ona Carole, among others.
Tumblr media
NorthEast Comic Con's standup battle royal proved to be a fun way to spend any down time. Local and budding comedians had the opportunity to sign up and perform seven minutes of material for a chance to win $100 a day and compete for the $500 weekend prize. The competition was judged entirely by audience applause, and Phil Anthony ultimately took home the grand prize. It was apparent that some of the competitors didn't have much stage experience, with bits that weren't fully realized or comedic timing that needed work, but the audience was receptive and ready to laugh.
Comedian Roger Kabler has been impersonating Robin Williams for many years, which earned him a finalist spot on the ABC celebrity impersonator reality competition The Next Best Thing in 2007. Following Williams' death, Kabler decided to utilize his talents and pay tribute to Williams with a film called Being Robin. A brief portion of the movie was shot at the convention, and attendees were allowed to participate as audience members as Kabler performed a portion of his Williams act. Not only does he have the voice and look down, but Kabler also nails Williams' idiosyncratic mannerisms. The film is currently seeking funding; I’m looking forward to seeing the final product after witnessing a small portion in the making.
Tumblr media
An unexpected highlight of the previous NorthEast Comic Con was seeing Gwell-o, a Gwar-inspired metal band featuring members of the comedy rock act Green Jelly dressed as intergalactic monsters in homemade, cardboard and duct tape costumes. They performed as part of the Saturday night after party this time around, and I couldn't miss it. A new layout to the stage allowed all nine members of the band to fit up there. The lineup features four people who sing backups and perform combat theatrics during the show, while the other five musicians perform a mix of originals and covers, including Gwar's "I Hate Love Song" and "Sick of You," Green Jelly's "Three Little Pigs," Judas Priest’s “Night Crawler," and “I Need Mo’ Allowance” from the cartoon Doug.
Proudly hailing for Ipswich, Massachusetts, The Fools headlined the after party. At first glance, they seem like a rock act in the vein of The Rolling Stones or Van Halen. Upon a closer listen to vocalist Mike Girard's lyrics, however, it becomes apparent that they are satirizing the classic rock acts of yesteryear as much as they are paying tribute to them. That's not to say they don't take themselves seriously; the quintet makes their tight live show appear effortless.
Tumblr media
Along with the celebrities, panels, standup comedy, and live concerts, NorthEast Comic Con offered cosplay contests, gaming, kids activities, and more, not to mention dozens of exhibitors and vendors. Many attendees came in costume, ranging from pop culture giants to comic book characters to original creations. For my money, two people dressed in large, elaborate Kang and Kodos costumes from The Simpsons were the most impressive.
A NorthEast Comic Con employee mentioned to me that this was the convention's biggest turnout at the Boxboro location yet. While it's wonderful to see the event grow with bustling crowds of enthusiastic fans, I revel in the fact that NorthEast Comic Con & Collectibles Extravaganza remains an intimate experience in comparison to the massive pop culture expos, which can be overwhelming and impresonal. On top of that, the show continues to keep its prices low and value high.

Cosplay in the Eyes Of Others
I started cosplay since 2014, and of course I’ve encountered lots of different opinions about this kind of hobby.
Listed below are some, but common misconceptions about cosplay.
1.       “Cosplay is a useless hobby “- This is so offensive because first of all, this doesn’t have to concern you. Especially when we’re not using your money to buy our costumes. Cosplay is NOT useless; in fact, it is very useful. We develop creativity by making our own costumes. We stimulate our time management as completing a costume takes time and lots of effort to finish.
Tumblr media
2.       “Cosplay is not for everybody “- I’ve witnessed several people being body shamed by other people. Just because the cosplay looks different than the original design of the character, it doesn’t give you the right to judge another person’s cosplay. I’ve seen lots of people being racist as well. Our race and skin colors are not the definition of the characters that we are portraying. We just wish that people would just appreciate what we are doing.

3.       “You won’t earn money with cosplay “- This is partially true. Why partially? You can actually earn money in cosplay. Of course, it’s not that high at first but once you enter the industry, people will actually book you to attend various events (birthday parties, seminars, Cosplay conventions etc...)
Tumblr media
4.       “You will never succeed in cosplay” – Even my own relatives said this to me. Take note, there are a lot of artists who are already successful in cosplay. Internationally, Alodia Almira Arraiza Gosiengfiao or commonly known as Alodia. she is a Filipina cosplayer, model, TV presenter, singer, and actress. Another one is from Thailand- Yuegene Fay, she does cosplay and crossplay (cosplaying a character with the opposite gender or other people also use the term “crossdress”). Of course, there are a lot more of them like Reika, Kaname, Baozi and Hana …etc. I even follow a number of Filipino cosplayers (other than Alodia and Myrtle) are Liui Aquino, John Rey Sabangen, Doll Tsukino (Jennylyn Castro), Robin Abraham Balisi and a lot more.

All these people are very talented. From their costumes and plays, sound effects, props and even editing. Almost everything is made and produced by them. Some of them are actually having a business because of cosplay. These people are my inspiration in pursuing this hobby. And don’t get me wrong, I don’t follow them just because their cosplays are looking great as hell but these people are really nice. For example, Baozi and Hana are a part of the LGBTQ+ community in which they have a special place here in my heart. They are showing that love has no gender, because I-myself do believe that love really has no gender. My mind and heart are open in this kind of things.

The cosplayers’ influence on me is a huge factor on who I am now. If I didn’t discover cosplay, then I wouldn’t have known these cosplayers who inspired me to be a better person.
Side note: People who tell these trashy things to you are most likely the ones who’ll approach you and would try to borrow a costume from you when they need it.
//To those people who recruited me in my first ever group:
-Samantha, Zuriel, Marlo, Joshua, Jeff Daniel >> Love you guys always!

Alternate Costume Ideas
Someone asked me to post the list of Smash Ultimate costume ideas I have saved on my computer, so here they are. Although I’d like to make almost all of them, they take around a week to make, (give or take depending on how complicated they are and how much free time I have) so I only intend to make a small handful, so let me know which ones you’d be most interested in.  If I missed any good ones, let me know. Some characters I am not super familiar with. Before you ask though, I think Banjo Kazooie would be easier to make from scratch than trying to rework Duck Hunt to make them. (Bird riding mammal sounds similar on paper, but the similarities really kind of end there.) Anyways here’s the list I’ve made. Some of them aren’t great ideas; I included everything I could think of:

NWA TNA Episode 1, June 19th 2002
17 years ago NWA TNA started the weekly PPV experiment. I went to every single one. Now I'm going to watch them for the first time since I was there.
Tumblr media
(this review brought courtesy of Toby Keith and the red white and blue)
In 2002, I was a teenager set adrift by 9/11 and the alienation from starting high school. For better or worse, every week I started going to National Wrestling Alliance - Total Nonstop Action shows on Wednesday night. I loved WCW and was bitter about the botched invasion going on, and here was a new WCW in my backyard.  It looks like there were 111 weekly PPVs, I'm not sure exactly how many taped ones / clip shows ended up happening, but I never missed one for injury, illness, or even vacation for the better part of two years. It was basically my ECW, for someone who was too young to follow ECW when it first aired.
I'm not really sure what the format of these is going to be. It's kind of a recap + live blog + review,  I'll give matches the standard 0-5 star ratings with 1/4*'s possible, so it's really a 20 point scale. I'm going to hopefully figure out a better way to get screen captures going forward. Also, these first couple were taped in Alabama, not at the TNA Asylum in Nashville. Hopefully if my memory holds up, I'll be able to give some live notes and memories from being there for some of these. I have an old hard drive of pictures taken that I hope I can recover. I won the "Best Fan of the Night" and "Best Sign" contests a couple times to get to go backstage, and I also generally hung out before the shows and after the shows to talk to the wrestlers coming and going like a groupie. Later on, I was even on the TNA "Street Team" helping to market TNA and hand out flyers/ads during Smackdown tapings.  I was also the moderator for the brief TNA Online Message Board, which I truly wish I had screencaps/archives somehow of all the…wildness there.
NWA TNA #1 June 19th 2002
Don West is the first person out of the gate, introducing Ed Ferrara after pyro and a brief introduction. Ed's all about TNA and introducing the girls dancing in cage as some sleazy music plays. Appropriately, he throws it to Mike Tenay, all business at ringside. TNA chants kick us off. Don West's hawaiian shirt is a thing of legend, and it's distracting me from Tenay's long explanation of the "Gauntlet For The Gold".
Jeremy Borash eventually is in ring announcing a parade of legends. Harley Race, Dory Funk, Jr, Jackie Fargo, Bullet Bob Armstrong, Corsica Joe & Sarah Lee, Bill Behrens, Ricky Steamboat. "All Our Base Are Belong To Us" shirt spotted in the stands. The Dragon compares the belt to every major championship in pro sports, the Stanley Cup, etc. He will special referee the finals of the match, and that brings out the one and only - Jeff Jarrett. His TNA theme "My World" is a lowkey banger that nevertheless completely haunted my life for 2 years. His big mouth earns him the first spot in the match. Ken Shamrock is here after that, and he joins Jarrett in burying the Battle Royal match. Finally, Scott Hall saunters through the crowd in a strip club(!!!) t-shirt as his awesome theme "Marvelous Me" plays. To round up, Ken Shamrock's theme wasn't great. "Hey Yo" sign spotted.
Goldylocks is backstage with Total Nonstop Action and the original midget killer "Puppet the Psycho Dwarf". Oh no. He's gonna spill some midget blood. Jeff Jarrett angrily kicks over a tiny music stand in the background hilariously. Then we go to the girls in cages and honest to goodness our first wrestling match -
6 Man Tag Team X Division Showcase AJ Styles, Low Ki, and Jerry Lynn vs The Flying Elvii (Sonny Siaki, Jimmy Yang, and Jorge Estrada)
An X Division showcase awaits. The legends surround a tiny monitor backstage. The generic faces' intro music is bland. The flying Elvii have a nice little knockoff theme at least. Siaki has Big The Rock Energy while the other two mug. The Elvii refuse handshakes and all hell breaks loose. Triple dropkicks and flying splashes to the outside. Styles reverses a back suplex into a phenomenal forearm, and I'm not going to attempt to catch every move. As an aside - Total Nonstop Action has taken a full 18 minutes on air before someone punched someone. Siaki and LowKi is a pretty appealing matchup. The former does a crisp Samoan Drop. Styles and Yang get in and have a very crisp, quick flurry of moves together. Jerry Lynn crushes a cradle Piledriver, and Siaki runs in and hits his neckbreaker finisher. LowKi accidentally brains AJ, and Yang capitalizes with the Yang Time for the pin. Considering who went on to hold the X Title, this is an odd result, but commentary was generally putting over how the mismatched team was going to compete in the X Title Round Robin coming up.
The Flying Elvii in 7 minutes, Yang Time pins AJ Styles **3/4
Midget Showcase Teo vs Hollywood
Hollywood starts it before the bell. From the promo, I thought this was a triple threat with Puppet. Hollywood kicks out of the "Tadpole Splash" from the top rope. Ed Ferrara says in response to Teo's claims to be a ladies' man - "He's the right height". Teo finishes Hollywood with an ugly swanton.
Teo in 3 minutes, Swanton?, 1/2*
Now West and Ferrara are in the ring hyping the Lingerie Battle Royal next week. The New Francine, Miss Joanie, Shannon (Daffney?), Alexis Laree (Mickie James!), The Incredible Sasha, Erin (Baltimore Cheerleader?), Elektra from ECW, Miss Taylor Vaughn, Darisa Da?? I didn't catch her name as Ed starts rambling about a kid in a candy store. Maybe I'll catch all the names if they're introduced with title cards next week. Francine grabs a mic and calls Ed "pudgy" and says none of the women compare to her. Elektra stands up to Francine and starts a catfight.
Goldylocks is in the back with Mortimer Plumtree. His character peaks with his name. He manages a tag team that bullied him in high school for reasons that are never explained. He leaves to walk "The Johnsons", Richard and Rod, to the ring.
Tag Team Match The Johnsons w/ Mortimer Plumtree vs Psychosis and James Storm
The latter is an odd pairing for a few reasons. I honestly didn't remember James Storm started off without Chris Harris and America' Most Wanted. He even has the prop guns firing blanks in the ring, which was always a nice touch. I feel like this is where I mention that the Johnsons are in full body suits and masks that make them look like walking penises. In other news, Psychosis is going without his trademark horned mask. Alicia from WCW is on the stage scouting the match. There's a fella in an XFL jersey in the stands. What year is it? "Buff your(sic) still the stuff" sign spotted. Ferrara "These Johnsons just look good". They hit simultaneous clutching suplexes to take control of the good guys, but Mortimer interferes to let one of the Johnsons hit their finisher on Cowboy. Post match, the ref pays off the lady watching the action.
The Johnsons in 4 minutes, Samoan Drop into Neckbreaker, *
Stan and Bo Dupp harass Goldylocks in the back until they run into the brothers' shared girlfriend in a quick nothing segment.
Borash introduces 1993 Rookie of the Year and Winston (yes, cigarettes) Cup Points Leader Sterling Martin. K-Krush is out to save us from the race car drivers. He's getting booed, but this would be a face promo anywhere other than Huntsville Alabama. K Krush "Damn you, and Damn Alabama" Brian Lawler is out to save the NASCAR dopes from the angry black man. He cuts an angry promo about "your kind" while the crowd howls in racist jeer. It's a pretty ugly segment considering "Grandmaster Sexay" Lawler is still clad in his Too Cool black rapper cosplay outfit.
Backstage, Jeff Jarrett is choking Jackie Fargo.
Tag Team Match Christian York & Joey Matthews vs The Dupps w/ Fluff Dupp
For better or worse, now I know their girlfriend/cousin's name now. After the crowd roared for the pasty white NASCAR duo, commentary is really going in on how these two wrestlers are completely fucking stupid and southern. The Dupps' intro is very boring twangy banjo crap, and they're not much better in the ring. Matthews hits a move called the Virginia Necktie that looks pretty nice. I think the non-Dupp team is working face, but it's hard to tell who the crowd is popping for. The Dupps win with some cheating and Fluff interference.
The Dupps in 4 minutes, Crotch shot, 1/2*
Before the Gauntlet For The Gold, we get a Toby Keith music video. He is singing "Angry American". Jeff Jarrett walks out and pushes Toby Keith off his little stupid stool and the crowd goes wild and honestly, I screamed in joy and Jeff Jarrett turned face for my money when he says "Nobody wants to hear that damn song, and take your Angry American Ass OUTTA HERE".
The Gauntlet For The Gold 20 Man Battle Royal for the NWA Heavyweight Championship Of The World
Buff Bagwell runs down for number 2 and the bell rings. Maybe it was for the main event finally starting but honestly the crowd goes pretty wild for Buff Bagwell laying hands on Double J. Buff hits a couple signature moves, but gets tossed before the next entrant. Ragin' Cajun Lash Laroux Is 3. He falls victim to The Stroke and is eliminated fast. "Somebody pissed in Jeff's Cheerio-s this morning!" Here comes Screamin' Norman Smiley at 4. The second largest pop of the night so far comes for the Big Wiggle. Jarrett tosses him anyways. Apolo comes down at 5, getting more offense than the previous entrants combined. K-Krush is 6. His signature axe kick gets tremendous boos, they hate him. Slash w/ James Mitchell is 7. Del Rios is 8. He is some kind of bodybuilder and it shows. Slash bites his way out of a belly to belly suplex as the announcers stress everything is legal. Justice is 9, I think this Is the future Abyss, but I can't swear to it. He hits a Black Hole Slam and now I'm 99% sure. Konnan is 10, yelling "Arriba La Raza" on his way to the ring. Abyss sells Konnan's facebuster a la HBK vs Hogan and I love it. 11 brings out Joel Gertner "I'm gonna be with 5 girls in Huntsville because I don't settle for less" He gives an X-rated introduction for the man they call Bruce of the Rainbow Express, led out by Lenny Lane. I'm not gonna bother listing all of the homophobic euphemisms the announce team runs through explaining who the Rainbow Express are. Rick Steiner is 12. He dumps Slash and Abyss with a couple impressive shows of strength. Malice is 13, dealing out chokeslams. Bruce, K-Krush, Del Rios,  Konnan, and Steiner go out quickly thereafter. Scott Hall is 14. Toby Keith? is 15. He suplexes and tosses Jarrett. Not that anyone cares, but Toby Keith leaves through the middle rope to chase Jarrett and is never officially eliminated. 16 brings Wildcat Chris Harris. Vampire Warrior, former Gangrel, runs down seemingly early as an entrant with no music? The on screen countdown timer disappeared during the Toby Keith situation. Dangerous Devin Storm, aka Crowbar, is probably 18. Steve Corino comes in at 19, the only former NWA Champ. Ken Shamrock is out at 20. "Hall was framed" sign spotted. Brian Christopher/Lawler is number 20 and I realize now that Toby Keith was not an official entrant. Brian clears out Chris Harris, Vampire Warrior, and Crowbar mostly by holding the top rope down when they ran by. He dumps Corino shortly after. Christopher and Apolo get dumped by Malice next. Then the cameraman somehow misses Malice back body dropping Scott Hall over the top, leaving Malice vs Ken Shamrock to go to a  pinfall or submission.
Malice vs Ken Shamrock, Special Referee Ricky The Dragon Steamboat
Malice gets some advice from Father James Mitchell at ringside.  After going back and forth, Shamrock gets an awesome cross arm breaker reversal of a choke slam. After a long tease of tapping, he gets the rope, maybe with James Mitchell pushing it a little toward his client. A big boot leads into the Ankle Lock and Shamrock refuses to break it on the ropes, after even a 7 count, leading to heated words with Steamboat. Shamrock wins with a Belly to Belly to a big pop despite his heel tactics. Cue pyro, and hoisting the tiny gold belt.
Ken Shamrock wins a 5 minute match following a 33 minute battle royal, Belly to Belly. **
The match was a little too long, even with Jarrett speeding up the beginning by tossing the opening entrants as fast as possible. Speaking of Double J, he fights with legends and security backstage before emerging with a microphone. He punches the legends after moaning about the battle royal until Toby Keith and Jackie Fargo come back out to book Scott Hall vs Jeff Jarrett next week, the show ends with them brawling up the ramp.
That wraps up episode 1! They have some marquee singles matches next week in addition to crowning the first X Division champ, I'll see you then to wrap up the two first Alabama shows before settling into The Asylum.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? 27 actors who have been killed off 'The Walking Dead'
Some of the core cast may have left the show, but they’re doing big things.
Gene Page/AMC
Over the course of seven seasons,”The Walking Dead” has said goodbye to tons of walkers and what seems like hundreds of minor characters. But they’ve also bid farewell to many of the main cast.
After Carl’s death, only four are left standing from the first season. With the way things have been going, there’s no telling how long that will last.
“The Walking Dead” actors have gone on to become DC Comics’ villains, Marvel antiheroes, and star in Hollywood blockbusters. Here’s what the cast are up to now.
Carol’s daughter Sophia died in season two after getting lost in the woods.
This was a shock because Sophia is still alive in the comics.
Netflix
After searching for her all season, it was heartbreaking to find Sofia was locked up at the farm where everyone was staying all along.
Since her days of being locked up in a barn, Madison Lintz has appeared on Amazon’s murder mystery “Bosch.”
Lintz all grown up.
Amazon
She also acted in “Parental Guidance” alongside Billy Crystal and Bette Midler and took a small role in a “Nashville” episode. Lintz will appear in horror movie “Tell Me Your Name” this year.
Her younger brother, Macsen, currently plays Henry on “The Walking Dead.”
Dale was also killed off in season two.
Dale had a lot of great facial expressions.
AMC
You might have recognized him from his earlier work in “The Green Mile” and “The Shawshank Redemption.”
Jeffrey DeMunn has had small roles on several shows including “Mob City” and HBO’s “Divorce.”
Jeffrey DeMunn with Paul Giamatti in season two of Showtime’s “Billions.”
Jeff Neumann/SHOWTIME
In addition to those shows he’s also taken on the part of Chuck Rhoades, Sr. on the new Showtime series “Billions.” He appeared in 2017’s movie “Marshall,” as well.
Rick killed his old police partner Shane Walsh at the end of season two.
Shane was originally brought on to try out for the role of Rick on “The Walking Dead.”
Gene Page/AMC
Shane died early in the comic as well, so Bernthal was more than prepared to have a short-lived run on the show.
“I fought very hard for the role of Shane, and they were clear with me that I was fighting to play a character that wasn’t going to last too long on the show,” Bernthal said in an interview with Starcasm. “But that was all right with me. That was a gift, because I could really craft a beginning, middle, and end for Shane.”
Bernthal has had a lot of success since “The Walking Dead.” He recently starred on Netflix’s Marvel spin-off series “The Punisher.”
Jon Bernthal in “The Punisher.”
Patrick Harbron/Netflix
Bernthal also worked alongside his former cast mate, Jeffrey DeMunn, in “Mob City,” and landed roles in hit movies “Fury” and “Sicario.”
Next, Bernthal has several movies out in 2018 including “Widows,” “First Man,” and “Stingray.”
Noah Emmerich played the brief, but important role of Dr. Edwin Jenner at the CDC in season one.
Jenner took his own life when he blew up the CDC in the season one finale.
AMC
He “opted out” after he couldn’t find a cure to the zombie virus. He told Rick that everyone is infected and will turn once they die.
If he looks familiar, it’s because he’s Agent Stan Beeman on “The Americans.”
Emmerich went from the CDC to the FBI.
Patrick Harbron/FX
First, Emmerich couldn’t find a cure for the zombie apocalypse and now he can’t even find Russian spies right under his nose next door. Poor guy.
Sarah Wayne Callies played Lori Grimes, who met her fateful end in season three after giving birth to Judith.
Rick’s wife was around until season three.
Gene Page/AMC
She wiped her hands clean of the show after departing. When asked if she kept up with “TWD” or the other characters’ fates, she revealed that she never had to begin with.
“I never watched the show, actually. I’d watch scenes here and there, primarily of other people’s work, but I don’t get a whole lot of watching myself, and if anything, it’s not really good for my head,” Callies said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Since her days of playing Rick’s not-so faithful wife, she landed a lead role on USA’s “Colony” and reprised her role on the “Prison Break” limited series.
Sarah Wayne Callies on “Colony.”
USA
“Prison Break” returned to Fox for nine episodes April 2017. Callies also starred in the film “Into the Storm.”
Daryl’s long-lost brother Merle Dixon was shot in the chest by The Governor in season three.
Merle Dixon returned in season three to be killed off.
Gene Page / AMC
Daryl heartbreakingly found his brother turned into a walker.
Since then, Michael Rooker went to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You may recognize him as the “Guardians of the Galaxy” antihero, Yondu Udonta.
Yondu became a fan favorite after “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.”
Marvel
Rooker was a scene-stealer in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” when he said, “I’m Mary Poppins, y’all.” It inspired a lot of cosplay mashups at fan conventions.
Laurie Holden’s character, Andrea Harrison, died in the season three finale.
Andrea shot herself before she turned into a walker after getting bit.
Gene Page / AMC
At the time, no one was expecting Andrea to go since she was still alive in the comics.
Holden has a recurring role in “The Americans” in its fifth and sixth seasons.
Laurie Holden.
YouTube/Adele Pinchelow
Before that she held minor roles in “Major Crimes” and “Chicago Fire” as well as a part in “Dumb and Dumber To.”
Holden has also produced two films, “Honeytrap” for Netflix and “The Time of Their Lives” for Universal. In 2018, she’ll star in “Dragged Across Concrete” with Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn.
Milton was killed by the Governor in front of Andrea in season three.
Milton was a scientist studying the dead at Woodbury.
AMC
Milton was just trying to help Andrea. When the Governor found out about his betrayal, he was fatally stabbed.
Dallas Roberts has been in a string of big movies and TV shows since his departure.

Dario Cantatore/Invision/AP
Roberts has been in “Dallas Buyers Club,” “Walk the Line,” CBS’ “The Good Wife,” and “American Crime.”
He’ll star as the lead in Netflix’s upcoming series “Insatiable” about a civil-lawyer-turned-beauty-pageant coach.
Beloved father Hershel was killed by the Governor in season four.
This wasn’t the death we were expecting for Hershel.
Gene Page/AMC
Hershel was decapitated in front of Rick’s crew. It was a pretty upsetting moment for everyone when Hershel’s life came to such a tragic end. Thankfully, the cast and crew at “TWD” made sure Wilson knew just how loved he was before he left.
“On the last day of filming, everyone was wearing suspenders because Hershel wears them and they were applauding when I got there. It was real touching that they cared enough to do something special like that,” Wilson said in an interview with Daily Dead.
Scott Wilson has kept busy with a part in “Damien” and the role of Abel Johnson in Netflix’s “The OA.”
Scott Wilson in “The OA.”
Netflix
Like his old cast mate Madison Lintz, Wilson also earned a spot on “Bosch,” but his biggest role so far has been in Netflix’s “The OA,” which has received a lot of talk since it was released.
He returned to voice his “Walking Dead” character in 2017’s “Robot Chicken” parody special of the AMC series.
The Governor was stabbed by Michonne and shot by his girlfriend, putting a fatal end to David Morrissey’s role on the show.
The Governor went on a rampage in season four.
Gene Page/AMC
The Governor was one of the show’s best villains.
Morrissey barely took a break between gigs appearing in “Extant” as Tobias shortly after he wrapped things up with “TWD.”
Morrisey on “Extant.”
Amazon
While working on “Extant” he got to know the villain who’d be torturing Rick and his crew next. Jeffrey Dean Morgan had the lead role on the CBS show.
Morrissey also appeared on “The Missing” and landed the lead role in Amazon’s new show “Britannia.”
Fans said goodbye to Beth in a surprise moment at the end of season five.
Daryl and Rick’s group searched for Beth only for her to wind up dead once they reached her.
Gene Page/AMC
Beth was accidentally shot in the head after she stabbed the leader of another group.
After leaving “The Walking Dead,” Kinney opened up about how hard it is when characters get killed off.
“Even though there are zombies and it’s based on a comic book, it definitely tackles big questions about our existence and what it means to be alive if you’re just surviving. It felt very real,” Kinney told The Cut. “Being isolated in this place with a bunch of actors, and they naturally just become your family after so much time. And then when people are killed off, it feels very real because they go away.”
Emily Kinney has appeared on ABC’s cancelled shows “Conviction” and “Ten Days in the Valley.”
Kinney is a singer and an actress.
ABC
Kinney turned to other TV shows to fill her time between roles. She also had parts in “Masters of Sex,” “The Knick,” and “Arrow” before “Conviction.”
Her singing career is in full swing as well. She recently dropped two new songs, “Back on Love” and “Popsicles” which came out October 2016.
Chad L. Coleman left the show after his character Tyreese was bitten in season five.
Tyreese started hallucinating in season five.
Gene Page/AMC
Tyreese died due to complications from blood loss after having his arm amputated because of a walker bite.
Coleman has worked on “Arrow” and is currently on Seth McFarlane’s Fox show “The Orville.”
Coleman plays an alien Klyden on “The Orville.” Here he is in an out of costume.
Jesse Grant/Getty Images for Lifetime, Jordin Althaus/FOX
He also keeps up with a small role as Z on “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.”
Robin Lord Taylor played a minor character named Sam who died at the hand of the cannibals in season five.
Sam was seen twice on the show.
AMC/The Walking Dead
Rick ran into Sam in season four of the series before being briefly reunited with him at Terminus in season five. When he and Glenn get stuck in a lineup, Sam is seen next to them before he’s killed by a butcher.
Robin Lord Taylor went on to play one of the main villains on Fox’s hit show “Gotham.”
We think he’s doing all right these days.
Jessica Miglio/FOX
You may not have recognized him without the blonde hair, but Robin Lord Taylor has been scheming and making deals as iconic Batman villain, The Penguin.
He’s also juggling several movies in 2018, including “The Mandela Effect.”
Andrew J. West played leader of the cannibals, Gareth.
Gareth was not a great man.
Gene Page/AMC
Rick brutally killed him in a church after Gareth and his friends ate Bob’s leg.
West went from the leader of Terminus to the grandson of Prince Charming on “Once Upon a Time” in its newest season.
West fought his way through the apocalypse to wind up in a fairy tale for one season.
Jack Rowand/ABC
“Once Upon a Time” will be ending after its seventh season.
He has some movies lined up, including “Tired Lungs” and comedy “Antiquities.”
Noah also said farewell near the end of season five in one of the show’s most gruesome deaths.
Noah received one of the show’s most brutal deaths.
Gene Page / AMC
Noah got trapped in a revolving door and was eaten alive by walkers. Luckily, the fate of the actor hasn’t been nearly as gloomy.
Tyler James Williams took a role on “Criminal Minds” that led to a larger role on the show’s spin-off “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.”
Tyler James Williams got his start as Chris on “Everybody Hates Chris.”
CBS
He basically plays this team’s Penelope Garcia on the show.
Rick’s love interest, Jessie, died in season six’s mid-season opener.
She was devoured by walkers after her son was taken by the undead.
Netflix
Her short-lived time on “The Walking Dead” made a big impact. She played Rick’s love interest before he moved on to Michonne.
Some were sad and surprised to see her go, but Breckenridge probably wouldn’t have landed her next big gig if she had stayed.
Alexandra Breckenridge landed a role in 2017’s breakout TV series, tear-jerker “This Is Us.”
Yes! They’re the same person.
NBC
Breckenridge plays Sophie, Kevin’s ex-wife, who he has rekindled a romance with. (We like her better with Kevin than Rick.)
Since leaving “TWD” she has also continued to lend her vocals to “Family Guy” in additional voices, which she’s been doing since 2005.
Abraham Ford was the first to lose his life to Negan’s bat Lucille in the season seven premiere.
How we miss Abraham’s witty one-liners.
Gene Page/AMC
One reason he hasn’t done too much since he left “TWD” is because he wasn’t allowed to look for a job until after the episode aired.
“Both Stephen [who plays Glenn] and I weren’t even able to pursue work until last Monday so we’ll have to see what is next,” Cudlitz said in an interview with Mirror Online a week after the season premiere.
Michael Cudlitz recently took on a role in an upcoming TV movie “The Trustee,” but has been spending most of his time making rounds at press events and conferences.
Michael Cudlitz at the 92Y.
Charles Sykes/Invision/AP
He’s currently working on a thriller “Driven.”
Steven Yeun’s Glenn was also mercilessly killed by Lucille.
The show was teasing Glenn’s death for some time.
Gene Page/AMC
Original cast member Steven Yeun, who played Glenn Rhee, also met his fate during that horrific scene, but according to an interview he gave with GQ it wasn’t too hard to let go of Glenn.
“I wouldn’t say it was hard, but it’s been affecting, to recap everything I’ve been through. It was less about losing that character, per se, and more about all the things I got to experience while playing this character,” he said. “It wasn’t hard to let go of the character. I’m saying that now. But I might be crying tomorrow.”
Unlike Cudlitz, he has a put a bit more on his plate. He was in Netflix’s “Okja” and horror movie “Mayhem,” which has received great reviews from critics.
Steven Yeun.
Lars Niki/Getty Images for Netflix
He’s also kept up with voicing Steve Palchuk in Netflix’s “Trollhunters” and Keith in “Voltron.”
Yeun is wrapping up a few other movies out this year, the animated “Chew” and a mystery called “Burning.”
The old leader of Alexandria, Deanna, landed an ill-timed bite to the side.
There was no coming back from this.
Netflix/AMC
She didn’t go down without a fight. She used her last moments to kill some of the undead as Rick and the group escaped Alexandria from harm.
Tovah Feldshuh has been on the CW’s “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” since 2015.
Feldshuh went from being a leader in the zombie apocalypse to an overbearing mom.
CW
Feldshuh plays the mother of the main character, Rebecca. You can see her singing on the show here.
Austin Nichols portrayed her son Spencer Monroe, who left the show after his character was gutted by Negan.
Spencer tried to sell Rick out.
Gene Page/AMC
After he met the same end as the comic character he was portraying, Nichols spoke to Entertainment Weekly about what he’s going to miss most.
“First and foremost, I am going to miss the people. Everyone on the show is really a joy to be around. I know everyone says that and people probably say that about every show and movie, but this is really a special show and a really cool vibe around it,” he said.
Nichols jumped from one scary setting to the next. He moved to “Bates Motel.”
He plays Sam Loomis.
A&E
He’ll also be in a movie called “The Iron Orchard” this year.
Sonequa Martin-Green played Sasha who took her life in the season seven finale.
Sasha took a cyanide pill, hoping she would bite Negan as a walker.
Gene Page/AMC, INSIDER composite
Sasha threw Negan off guard when she surprised him as a walker.
Martin-Green later said on the series’ aftershow that her death felt “right and complete.”
“It was quite poetic when I found out how it was going to happen. It was the perfect culmination of [Sasha’s] life. I felt like all of my roads had led to that moment of getting to that place of complete selflessness. It felt perfect,” Martin-Green said. “It was the first time we had ever rooted for a walker but it was also beautiful because the way I saw it is that warrior spirit lives on. Even in death, I was still going to fight because I had realized my purpose: Everything before that had been self-preservation, self-defense mechanisms and basically self-obsession. Over the course of my life as Sasha, it was progressing beyond that to the point where said I now have a greater purpose that’s much bigger than me and that’s for the future and I’m going to do it even in death.”
Martin-Green now plays the lead in CBS’ All-Access series “Star Trek: Discovery.”
Her hair is even shorter for the space show.
CBS
The show was renewed in October for a second season.
Mika was killed by her older sister Lizzie Samuels.
Mika is on the left while Lizzie is on the right.
AMC
A disturbed Lizzie tried to make a point about the undead when she killed her sister on season five. Instead, she simply horrified both Carol and Tyreese.
You can catch Kyla Kenedy on ABC’s “Speechless.”
Kyla Kenedy on ABC’s “Speechless.”
ABC/Byron Cohen
Kenedy still plays the youngest sibling, but unlike her “Walking Dead” character, Dylan DiMeo is more outspoken and a bit of a prankster.
Juan Gabriel Pareja reprised his role as Morales after seven years only to be killed off one episode later by Daryl.
Morales lived! (For a short time.)
Gene Page/AMC
Fans weren’t happy about Morales’ quick return but the character may have a lasting impact on Rick down the line in season eight.
Pareja appeared on an episode of “Chicago Med.”

Willy Sanjuan/Invision/AP
Pareja told INSIDER about his and you can read our full interview with Pareja here.
Pareja is also voicing a character in video game “State of Decay 2.”
Chandler Riggs grew up on the show as Rick’s son Carl Grimes.
Carl tripped and fell in the sixth episode of season eight while trying to help out a new friend, Siddiq.
Gene Page/AMC
After surviving roughly three years in the zombie apocalypse, Carl was bit by a walker in the eighth season. He finally revealed the bite on his torso to his father and took his life on the mid-season premiere after saying goodbye.
Riggs has cut his hair, has worked on two movies, and is working on a music career.
Riggs said goodbye to his long hair after over seven years on “The Walking Dead” as he looks to other acting opportunities.
David Becker/Getty Images for Xbox Live
Riggs is just getting started. He recently finished up two films, “Inherit the Viper” and “Only.”
The first film also stars Josh Hartnett and will feature Riggs with a mohawk he debuted on social media.
“I did one in December where I had a mullet. It was really, really gross, but it was called, ‘Inherit the Viper,’ and I play this white-trash, redneck kind of kid,” Riggs told press on a conference call for “The Walking Dead” in February. “The other movie that I did, it’s called ‘Only,’ I get to play this psychopath, deadly, murderous kind of kid. I’m really, really excited for people to see that one because it’s really cool. It was really fun to shoot.”
Though Riggs has been diving into the Hollywood scene, he’s also considering more television.
“I’ve never really been out in LA for pilot season before so it will be interesting to see how that goes,” Riggs added.
If those two things don’t keep him busy enough, Riggs has also been producing electronic music for about a year and a half under the alias Eclipse. You can listen to some of his work here.
Negan’s Savior leader Gavin got a staff to the neck on the mid-season eight premiere.
Gavin handled trades with the Kingdom.
Gene Page/AMC
Little Henry took out the Savior while he had his back against the wall to Morgan, Carol, and Ezekiel. Henry held Gavin responsible for the death of his brother Benjamin.
Jayson Warner Smith will reunite with Chandler Riggs on the movie “Only.”
Jayson Warner Smith at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
Jemal Countess/Getty Images
He’s also currently filming another movie called “Reckoning.”
Jared was brutally eaten to death as Morgan watched.
Morgan locked him in a room full of the undead.
Gene Page/AMC
Jared finally got what was coming to him after killing Benjamin on season seven.
Actor Joshua Mikel can be seen in a lot of other movies.
You may have seen him around.
Gene Page/AMC
He recently appeared in “Game Night” and heckled Margot Robbie in “I, Tonya.” He was also on an episode of the CW’s superhero show “Black Lightning” and will be in Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp” this summer.
Negan choked his right-hand man Simon to death after learning of his betrayal.
Simon got what was coming to him on season eight, episode 15.
Gene Page/AMC
Negan wasn’t pleased with Simon after he ordered the junkyard gang dead. He was furious when Simon tried to orchestrate his murder behind his back.
Now, Simon’s living out his days as a walker attached to the main gate outside the Sanctuary.
You won’t have to wait long to see Steven Ogg on TV again.
Steven Ogg also plays Rebus on “Westworld.”
HBO
He’ll be back on HBO for the second season of “Westworld.” Ogg has plenty on his plate afterward.
“Rebus is back in that world. So I’m happy and excited to continue to be in that show,” Ogg told INSIDER. “Then, there’s a space film that I produced and starred in. Just me. It’s just a one man show called ‘Solace,’ which we’ve been hoping to premiere at TIFF [Toronto International Film Festival]. I’m producer, and more of just an actor on it. With these gigs, one never knows what is going to happen to it at the end of the day. It’s been good to go for a while now.”
“Then, [I’m] to be going to New Mexico in a few weeks, which I’m very excited about,” Ogg said of another project. “The producer is Darren Dean, who did ‘Tangerine,’ and ‘The Florida Project.’ I’m enormous fans of those projects.”
Then Ogg will be working on a role where he’ll play a much different character than you usually see him in.
“This amazing woman, writer, director, Ani Simon-Kennedy is doing this film called ‘The Short History of the Long Road,’ a beautiful coming-of-age tale. I get to play a rather kind of Captain Fantastic, Viggo Mortensen dad, raising a daughter, doing the best he can. I’m excited about that, because there’s no muttonchops, there’s no mustache, there’s no psycho, there’s no crazy, there’s life, love, learning, lessons. I’m really excited to do that,” he said. “That’s with Sabrina Carpenter, who I have not worked with, but I look forward to doing that very much.”
“Other than that, ’tis the life of an actor, and you’re just always looking for the next gig,” said Ogg of one more thing he wants to do. “I would love to get back to theater. I’ve been in meetings in London a lot. I’m very, very anxious to get back into just working in the theater.”
