Ali: I shall use your asks as an opportunity to give all the informations.
And apologize. Again. FEELS LIKE I DO THAT A LOT LATELY.
I am going to end up doing a liveblog for the movie. I WANT TO DO IT SO BADLY. Things are kinda hard right now, but I am excited to actually do it and I hope I will be able to as soon as I can.
I do not want to give any specific time frame as of now - because, well, my life is a mess - but I am not gonna give up on liveblogging.
From other important things: I am in possesion of Jean’s answers to all the pending asks and also in possesion of liveblog for Keeping it Together. Neither is traslated yet, but will be soon - probably sooner than I will liveblog the movie by myself. Though, Jean would like to let you know that the episode killed him. Which I think is proper reaction to it.
As to what happened that I fallen off the face of the world again: So, my brother hired me in his shop, which is actually pretty enjoyable and nice work.
But then he decided to go for over two weeks vacations, and left me as de facto owner and manager of understaffed shop. As a result I ended up going to work days in a row from 8am to MIDNIGHT, and even when I did have a free day, I had to be on the phone and work mail and figure out all the things that are constantly breaking or going wrong.
You know, I think that experience taught me that I would NOT like to own a shop.
But now my brother is back and I am slowly putting my life back together too.
I am sorry there is so little happening here in those last months. As I also previously mentioned, I am struggling with some mental health issues now, BUT I am on my way to getting myself therapist, so that should get better soon too.
I really love liveblogging, I loved doing it, and I wish so many things weren’t getting in my way all the time.
BUT ANYWAY! I do not want this whole answer to sound so negative and sad, because things are not totally terrible in my life and I am hopefull for the future.
AND I WANT TO WATCH STEVEN, DAMN IT. I was already advised to have tissues with me during the movie, so I am very hyped now.
Again, I don’t want to promise anything yet, but I am definitely going to at least start watching it before this current month ends. Tomorrow I am planning to finish translating for sure Keeping it Together Jeanblog and asks answers, so you all may expect those soon.
Thank you to everybody who is still sticking with us through those trying times.

both kamala and trump failed to address the main crisis effecting americans today. which is, obviously, the absurd pricing of the PS5 Pro. their failure to do so will cost both of them the election, im afraid.

The Internet Archive case is disappointing, but honestly, I find the way theyre framing it as an "attack on libraries" as mildly disingenuous. I understand that's the main crutch of their legal argument, but the reality is if you've EVER used an actual libraries digital lending system (in the US, this is typically via Libby), you'd understand what IA got in trouble for is something other libraries expressly don't do. Lending unrestricted digital copies without a cap on the number of copies lendable at once is what they got sued over. Which is something Libby doesn't do, theres a hard cap on the number of ebooks lent out at once. There's holds for books, which oftentimes can last weeks. What IA did definitely shouldn't be illegal, but it undeniably was. But this is absolutely not the death of libraries, just a particular lending scheme IA rolled out during the pandemic.

gotta say online fan communities gotta be some of the stupidest motherfuckers sometimes, anilist doesn't have the kizumonogatari recut movie on it bc, and i quote, "its a compilation movie of movies, not a series, and we only add compilation movies of series's."
what a stupid, pointless line to draw, that doesn't make any sense. i cannot add all 3 kizu films to my list bc i have not seen all 3 kizu movies. literally ~50min of content was cut from koyomi vamp. and from what ive heard, the first 10 or so minutes is entirely new content, in addition to other new animation spliced throughout. i will never understand when forums or other related sites make these utterly mundane and downright moronic distinctions for the sake of "consistency". bitch if Bocchi the Rock Re:Re can be added, kizumonogatari koyomi vamp can be.

i think humans should just be born with a switch in our brain that we can flick at any time that allows us to fully disengage with all aspects of the world except for our own selves. nothing else, just pure self preservation with no other thoughts or cares. i think having that ability would be nice to flick on every now and again.

i think the most annoying thing about post-election stuff is that ppl go around yapping about how their specific issue they care about is the reason that X happened, rather than just like. it being yknow, a very large combination of a lot of factors. always. not saying that ur reasoning isnt incorrect, but its one small piece of a larger puzzle, voters are complicated, bc theyre yknow. people. with opinions. and emotions. crazy shit.

i feel like my disillusionment, with certain national/international political topics, has kinda peaked. but on the flipside, my interest in far more niche topics that more directly impact me has also peaked. and honestly, spending my energy on the latter over the former just helps ppl far more tangibly so im okay with that.
what im saying is i spend far too much time looking at really dull municipal planning documents and i have strong opinions on them and i should go out and bitch about them more often.

its dumb and bad to pitch more lanes as "solving traffic", but it's also dumb and bad to do this with transit expansions as well. neither rail nor highway expansion tend to make particularly marginal benefits towards car traffic. and that's okay, honestly.
