Just finished reading DOTC, so here’s my take on @jayie-the-hufflepuff’s design challenge!

Well, you remember that total eclipse of the sun a couple of weeks ago? *da-doo*

Ten points to anyone who gets the reference. :P

Anyway, I'm a bit late in getting this posted, but with the recent solar eclispe, and having gone to see it myself at Niagara Falls (I didn't get to see totality properly 'cause clouds were in the way, which was a big bummer, but it was still cool to see the sky go so dark so quickly and I did get to see glimpses of the sun just before and after totality, and it was my first time seeing the falls and visiting Canada which was still neat), I of course had to follow Warrior Cats fandom tradition and draw Sol posing all dramatic in front of the eclipsed sun. So here he is in all his drama king glory. :D

I had a lot of fun with this one, even if I'm not totally happy with how the colors/lighting turned out in the end. Ah well. :P In the past I've drawn Sol positioned on a branch over a brooding Blackstar with his tail encircling the sun, seen here: StarClan's Time is Over by Jayie-The-Hufflepuff on DeviantArt and here: A Shadow Eclipsed by Jayie-The-Hufflepuff on DeviantArt but this time I just wanted to focus on Sol, maybe I'll draw Blackstar later. :P I still had his tail kind of curl around the sun, so that still works, and he's sort of got up his paw up as if presenting the eclipsed sun to the Clans on it, with a shrewd, knowing, somewhat smug expression. I love how dynamic the pose turned out. :D I used a 3D model app to pose a 3D cat as a reference, turned out really useful.

Tried to give some family resemblance to both Nightheart + Sparkpelt and Sunbeam + Berryheart though I guess that’s up to everyone else on if I executed that well.  Also based my Splashtail design pretty heavily off of my hawkfrost one because I adore the art I’ve seen of the fandom comparing them.

I’m back with another MAP part, once again for the improvement MAP “Got Soul”. Here is the original MAP call: https://youtu.be/TvMS8Ea3bH0?si=BDgK3yYSdYQ1iMtP

The premise of the MAP is to redo or continue a piece of your own animation that is at least 6 months old. Having been on YouTube a long time, and having been more “quantity over quality” with my animation when I was younger, I had a good few videos to choose from. XD I ended up picking my “Ashfur’s Prelude 12/21” video from 2011 (yup, a 12 and a half year old video). I had to speed it up a bit to get it to fit the best of the new song, but I think it worked out well. :D You can watch the original Ashfur video here: https://youtu.be/SwLGLQjKrN4?si=SkdSU4pw1t2-sPud

I’m so, so happy with how this turned out. :D The part I had to animate/tween was so short that I could really put my all into making the few seconds of tweening I had look as good as possible. I’m especially happy with the lake scene - I usually have trouble with drawing water, but I think the water and the effect of the blood flowing out turned out super good. :D I’m so happy with the fur texture and shading, and especially the background in the lake scene. It looks so much better than last time I drew that scene! The ferns actually look kinda like ferns this time. XD And obviously I’m super happy with the improvement over 12.5 years of art. ^^ I wish I could show younger me how far our art has come.

The art for this part was drawn using the app ArtStudio (the legacy version), and the editing was done with the app LumaFusion. Both the art and editing were done on my iPad. :D
