Begin part 5...

*Jayde asked Edward to pull over by a lake to clean up. When she was washing her shirt she was approached by a duck and sheep, deciding to pet them and count it as a small blessing.*

Ah shoot, the 8-year-old had an egg.

Okay! in the context of this post, this is set in the Mythical Machines timeline I have going with @ttte-humanoid-engine-au . The medication needed for an abortion is apparently not an over-the-counter thing you can get, and since Jayde isn't human, she couldn't exactly walk into a hospital. And apparently feathered serpents have a very fast pregnancy, unlike what Jayde originally thought, she'd have a pregnancy closer to that of a human. Reticulated Pythons are gravid/pregnant for 60 days (Nearly 2 months). And Bald Eagles are pregnant for 2 days. So while Jayde was pregnant for 13 weeks (2 months) she was actually very darn close to having the thing pop out of her. Once she was in a safe place she actually made a nest out of blankets and pillows in the castle's break room, and she practically vacuumed up any food she found. She may have chased Duck and Thomas and her Edward around on a few occasions. Then one night, the lump she had been growing for the past week on her belly started to move down her tail and she popped out an egg. Everyone was surprised as they assumed she was just having cravings and was just getting fat. Thomas had found her the morning after she gave berth, he was still half asleep so he didn't realize that Jayde had a real egg curled up with her until he got to the engine's sheds and it fully registered that- 'Jayde... EGG?!??' So he ran back up and woke up anyone he could find. Horse Ed was so worried, he was beating himself up for not being there while she was laying an egg bigger than her head. So now he's her personal nanny/servant until the baby hatches. So have some sketches!

With the new year brought new opportunities and new hope for all mythos. Duke was given his first-ever paycheck of $288,350 in 1956 for his work in the last 158 years of his life. He split it with Jayde leaving them $144,175 each. Jayde got to work setting herself up with a McMansion and a huge property on Sodor, having a large workshop on the grounds to work on future projects. Duke moved in with Jayde as neither of them liked the idea of being alone, Jayde got a proper parental figure in her life and Duke got a grandchild that wanted him to stay, win-win! In November of last year Jayde was numbered 13 of the NWR, and pulled the express from Sodor to London called the Tame South-Easter with Duke as her jockey. Their first week was a distasteful one as a herd of younger fauns would bully Duke when Jayde wasn't around, it unfortunately went too far when the young herd shoved a whole vine of beauregarde berries down Duke's throat. Duke did recover after a few weeks but the results left him close to immobile. Now Jayde had him on a strict diet and she mainly carried him around on her back using her wings to hold him which was still in effect after the new year.

Jayde: "Duke does eat vegetables, and fruits, and herbs, and roots."

Skarloey: "The problem is he eats so much and doesn't exercise."

Rheneas: "I'm really worried... after the last inspection before the new laws will be passed in December the inspectionist didn't look to happy with Duke's performance."

Falcon: "Hey Jayde? After you finish with this ask can we talk?"

Jayde: "For the last time Falcon, no."

I thought I'd pull at my heart strings with this one. Separated from two worlds where Jayde is stuck, she just wants to hug her big brother until she falls asleep.

I'm now in a bit of an oof... Okay, so if you're familiar with the stories I've been doing with @ttte-humanoid-engine-au , you'll now be aware that Jayde had an egg once she was safe at Ulfstead castle. And that was on July 22, I checked and that's when we started that last part. And Jayde's egg would have been incubating for at least 2 months. Bald eagle eggs incubate for 1 month, and Reticulated Python eggs incubate for 2 months. I went for the 2 months mark since that was how long she was pregnant for, and after a bit of math I found out that Jayde's egg would be presumably hatching on the 23 of September, which is just over 2 weeks away from now. I've got a design planned out for the kid but I'm struggling with the name. I plan for Jayde to not let Falcon see his kid since Jayde doesn't trust him anymore and instead she hooks up with her worlds Mallard. Mallard takes the kid in as his own since they look a lot more like their mother than their father, the only real difference being the kid has blue feathers. So now I'm struggling on a name... I wanted to keep it thematic, Jayde's family tradition is that all their names are gender neutral, and Mallard's is that all his siblings were named after birds. At first, I just wanted to call the kid Robin and be done with it but I got to researching and found these names-

What happened between her a falcon?

Falcon has had absolutely no experience with talking to girls or women in general aside from Mr. Percival's wife, and even then they don't talk often. And since this is the 1950s-60s women were generally expected to be housewives, looking after the kids and doing the chores, etc. Like what Jayde has been doing. So Falcon was told mainly by workers on the railway how their wifes act and behave and he got a particularly bad influence from one worker who was actually abusive to his wife, so he held Jayde up to the same expectations. But obviously, Jayde was made in an era very different to this so she "defied him" quite often. The two were just young and very dumb, Falcon wanting something more exciting out of life and Jayde was just curious about organic bodily things, like "Passionately Hugging". After a few goes Jayde ended up pregnant and she was actually responsible enough to know that she was not in a good position to raise a kid of any kind, so she told Falcon she didn't want the kid and she would abort it. Falcon didn't believe her, and asked her- "Why would a girl not want a baby?" Jayde found this extremely sexist and she tried to lay it down on him that she was serious and that neither of them were in any position to take care of a kid. Falcon remained stubborn though. This is where the timeline splits. In timeline A; where the mythics weren't sent to the humanoids AU, Jayde meets Zebedee who is an English naga. Zeb gives her a magic abortion pill and just like that the baby is gone. When she proves it to Falcon he loses his mind. A huge physical fight breaks out where Falcon's harpy side shows out more. Jayde easily beats him into unconsciousness though, and that was the last straw for her. She left the Skarloey and actually went to the Sir Topham Hatts to ask for a job, she got one, as the Sodor to London Express! (The train Flying Scotsman pulls in CGI). In timeline B however, Jayde was teleported to the humanoid world before she meet Zebedee. So she didn't have a chance to abort the pregnancy. Now she has an egg on her hands to look after, she doesn't want to be one of those mothers who uses adoption as a substitute to birth control just because she was stupid. I'm hoping the next person to come in is Mallard, because I'm eager to dip my toes into a love story between him and Jayde. Jayde has a type for expresses.

Since this one is a dice that means I pick at random. 🖌️ - Do they have any hobbies? Yes! Jayde is a huge creative fanatic! Her making the engines armors wasn't a fluke she learned last minute, her brother's copilot got her into the hobby of knitting and her passion for creative fashion grew from there. She makes her own clothes and even made a few for Spencer. If she had to wear another dress again in her life it would be one she liked and would wear. But what many don't know is that she takes up a secret hobby of singing, only her brother has ever heard her sing and Spencer has caught her a few times humming. Her voice is like THIS, Thomas might have caught her singing one night while she was making the armors. That's what I got for now, don't be shy to ask more or about the other characters.

Things of progress...

I'm in the progress of line work with Falcon, and I kinda realised I don't talk about Jayde’s feathered side of being a feathered serpent that much, so I gave her a little costume based off of Asmodeus from helluva boss after I listened to this video. I imagen her sounding a lot like Annapantsu. She can transform her tail into legs and it transforms into a long piece of clothing like what she's wearing, its a magic skill that most mythic like merfolk know how to do if they work on land, you'll find that Top Hat can do this as he has a very long coat with tentacle details on it.

Jayde will not get a rest if she heard about two centaur (possible even more) are in my au, two of them hurt, one is not that serious, but the other is really serious

If she does get involved she'll be worried sick... and also be a little homesick since the world they're in now reminds her a lot of the world she actually came from with the humanoids.

Gordon has been teaching Jayde, Thomas, and Falcon how to fly. Jayde knows the most about the theory part of flying, and is the most experienced about it compared to Thomas and Falcon, but she's learning how to fly with feathered wings instead of rotors. Thomas is struggling with his flying and magic teachings but he's mainly having Jayde as his study/sparring partner since she's also learning how to do magic. And Falcon is learning well, he often gets distracted by Jayde however and tries to show off. But she isn't impressed, actually finding him to be a moron.
