I seriously hate it when people start to villainize characters (let’s say, Kai) just to make more (let’s say, Jay) angst
Like no Rodrick, Kai didn’t beat Jay up for flirting with Nya. You know why? Because by that time Jay was better than Kai (Jay got more training since it was just the start and he joined 2nd, not 4th), and then Kai and Jay spend like every hour of the day together whether it’s training, eating or just chilling.
Yes, Kai will always be Nya's #1, but to the point he would beat Jay up?? Are you demented??
No, Jane, Nya wasn’t abusive towards Jay and forced him into a relationship. That in your sick head so you could have a reason for their breakup so you could ship Jay and Cole! (No hate to Bruise. Bruise supremacy)
NO, ALEX, OKAY? SKYLOR ISNT HOMOPHOBIC AND HER AND KAI DIDNT BREAK UP BECAUSE SHE FOUND OUT KAI ALSO LIKES BOYS.
NO, DENNIS, JAY KAI AND COLE WOULD NEVER BULLY ZANE TO HURT HIM THEN LAUGH AT HIM
SHUT UP, KIM. ED AND EDNA ARE BEAUITFUL PARENTS AND YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF TRYING TO TURN THEM EVIL JUST FOR MORE JAY ANGST.
Shame 🫵🏻.

How would the ninja react to their partner getting their nails done based on them? Sorry if it doesn’t make sense. Thank you!!!
Awe, wait, this is cute! 😭🙏 I understand what you mean, and I'm very happy to make this.♡
~~~
Ninjago Headcanons { Nail design inspired by them }
Tumblr media
~Lloyd Garmadon~
Not in a million years did he expect to see his dragon design on your nails. Simply, he'd hold your hand just to see it smiling like a little lovesick fool that he is for you.
~Kai Smith~
He actually said it as a joke since he'd noticed you like doing things with your nails, but one day when his lover walked up to him smiling ear to ear showing it he simply melted in the spot.
~Cole Brookstone~
Stared at you for a minute before a smirk showed up on his face, looking at your hands with stars in his eyes. If he could truly fall anymore in love with you then he just did.
~Zane Julian~
Definitely would notice and silently smile to himself without pointing it out, feeling a sense of pride from the thought of you wanting to walk around with a reminder of him on your hands.
~Jay Walker~
Thought it looked so cool with the lighting design and asked to see the refrance photos, would kiss the back of your palm with a goofy grin. He'd be lying to say his heart wasn't hammering slightly faster in his ribcage.
~Nya Smith~
In absolute awe, feeling even a little shy about it, but after all, she'd ask who and where you got it done by. If it was your own doing, she would ask you to do hers inspired by yours, she felt inspired by your creativity.
°°°
Hello!! I hope you all enjoyed it!! ♡ it's a little more on the short side, but I had fun writing it nonetheless 💕
It was a strange sensation, to be cared for. Jay wasn’t sure he knew what to do with it.
From my fic "Expectations". [AO3]
Jay struggles with self-identity and relationships after losing his memories in the merge, and some familiar faces have been trying to help him through it... but it's an unfamiliar one that finally gets through to him.
Need me an AU where they RETIRE FROM BEING NINJAS bc they do NOT deserve to be in their forties with the fate of the world on their shoulders. Their back pain CAN NOT handle that. I need them to be old happy retired gay men who maybe mentor a younger generation of ninja to become the new elemental masters or smth
“Breathe,” your mother reminded you gently.
Easy for her to say, she wasn’t the one suspended in a middle-split between two rocks over a stream. Regardless, you did as she asked, feeling the air move in and out of your lungs and the sweat forming on your temple.
“The key is concentration–balance,” her voice came from the bank to your right.
Most of what she said you already knew having been doing this for years, but you didn’t mind.
In and out your breaths went, eyes closed, relying only on your hearing until you felt your mother’s presence hovering next to you.
Peaking your eyes open, she stood on a nearby rock smiling down at you.
“Very good,” she nodded, offering you a hand to help you up.
“Thank you,” you exhaled, stretching out your legs a bit after so long in your previous position.
Your mother smoothed your hair back before leading you across the stream and back onto the land where you promptly shoved on your shoes.
The two of you chatted beneath the warm sun and cool breeze all the way back to your house. Though even before entering, you heard voices coming from within.
You shared a look of confusion with your mother.
That was odd, your father should be the only one home at the moment.
You gently pushed the door open and followed the voices to your living room where you saw your father in a deep conversation with an older man.
“Wu!” Your mother chirped, rounding you to greet the stranger.
The old’s eyes crinkled as he smiled beneath his long wispy white beard. Your mother bowed slightly as a sign of respect, and you thought it only best to do the same.
Eventually, you all sat around the living room, each nursing a steaming cup of tea.
“What do we owe this visit?” Your mother asked kindly. Apparently your parents and Master Wu went way back. They learned all they knew from the man himself, which then trickled down to you.
Wu took a sip of tea before answering. “I wish to offer your daughter a job.”
All eyes moved to you.
A job? What kind of job?
Your back straightened slightly at all the attention. “Sir?”
Wu sighed wearily, “I have realized I may need more help than I currently have. Upon opening a tea shop, I have less and less time to teach my students.” He swirled his tea twice before his eyes set upon you. “Would you be open to helping out?”
“Oh, uh… your students are?” You trailed off.
“The ninja, dear,” your mother filled in gently.
Oh. The ninja? What could you possibly teach the ninja? Sure, martial arts was nothing new, and yeah you were trained in combat thanks to your father, but they had elemental powers for heaven's sake.
“I’m not sure how much help I could be,” you answered sheepishly.
“You do not need special abilities to teach,” Wu smiled. “And I fear the elements are why I am seeking this help in the first place. It appears my students are disregarding their training for their elemental powers.”
That made sense. Whenever you got frustrated while training with your father he always reminded you you didn’t need flashy powers to be strong. Because while they may be useful, there’s always a chance they can vanish, and then what?
Eventually you made up your mind. “Okay, I’ll do it.” You quickly looked to your parents, “If that’s alright with you?”
“Of course,” your mother wrapped her arms around you. “We know you’re in safe hands with Wu. Just promise you’ll call?”
“Of course,” you assured her as your father also joined in on saying goodbye.
Before long you were packed with enough things to last a few weeks. You might have to repeat some outfits for a while since the duration of your stay wasn’t specified. But you always had money you could spend on clothes.
“How do we get there?” You asked Master Wu after he informed you he and his students were residing at his tea shop, Steep Wisdom.
He glanced at you out the corner of his, and you just caught the glint of a smirk beneath his beard before golden particles started to form in front of you.
From those particles, something even greater arose. A dragon.
Your mouth gaped open. Wu laughed before tossing your luggage on top of the large white and gold dragon that had just materialized in front of you.
--
The dragon flight was frightening at first, but as you relaxed it wasn’t so bad. You got to see things from an all new perspective. Dragon-eye view style.
Eventually, through the clearing of teas you flew over, you spotted a cozy tea house nestled between the woods.
The dragon dipped lower and lower before let out a warning, “The dragon dissolves, can you stick the landing?”
“Of course,” you smiled. A drop from this height? Easy.
You prepared yourself, but the disappearance of the dragon beneath you still caught you off guard a bit. However, that didn’t stop you from landing perfectly on your feet.
Flawless, you thought as your luggage somehow landed just as gracefully next to you.
The space around you truly was beautiful. A wall surrounded the tea shop and courtyard, and you heard rushing water faintly in the distance, telling you there was some type of natural water nearby.
What you didn’t notice was the five boys lingering outside upon your arrival.
“Uh, anyone gonna introduce us?” A slightly high pitched voice asked.
You snapped your gaze away from the scenery and towards the voice. Five boys around your own age and dressed in colorful gis regarded you curiously.
Before you could introduce yourself, Wu cut in. “This is your new strength trainer. She’ll be taking over lessons when I’m busy. I expect each of you to treat her with respect.”
A course of “Yes, Sensei’s” were said before the bowed in unison.
Then, an older woman with a long braid falling down her back summoned Wu. Something about an inventory issue.
“Excuse me,” he said to you, and then to his students, “someone will need to show her to her new quarters.”
With that he was gone. And you were left with five teenage boys staring at you.
“Um, hi I’m (Y/N). Nice to meet you.” You stuck with a polite introduction.
“Hey there,” a brunette boy with somewhat spiky hair said. “You know we don’t usually get many new people, may you and I could–”
“Kai,” a tall boy with black hair, cut him off. “Don’t be weird. She just got here.”
“What?” Kai gaped. “I was just going to ask if–”
“I apologize for my brother.” This time the voice came from… a titanium robot? Now that’s something you don’t see everyday.
Clearly the surprise was written all over your face at the unanimous chuckle that came from each boy.
“I am Zane,” the robot didn’t seem phased by your surprise. “This is Kai, Jay, Cole, and Lloyd. Kai’s sister also resides with us, but I’m afraid she is busy helping Misako and Master Wu.”
“Oh, that’s no problem,” you responded. “Do one of you know where I’m staying? If I don’t unpack now I’ll never get it done.” You admitted with a laugh.
“I got it,” said the boy with black hair you now knew to be Cole. He walked over, and grabbed each of your bags as though they weighed nothing.
“You don’t have to do that, I can take some of them. I know they’re a little heavy but no one told me how long I’d be staying.”
“Please,” Cole smirked, “it’s nothing. I can lift more than ten times this weight.”
“Show off,” Kai coughed.
“You okay?” Lloyd asked him.
“Yeah just something caught in my throat,” Kai shook his head before coughing the phrase again.
Cole rolled his eyes at Lloyd and Jay laughed. Zane didn’t seem to get it. You even found yourself smiling at the joke before following Cole to your room.
“Don’t mind them,” he said. “They can be a lot sometimes.”
“Something tells me you also fit into that category,” you teased. You are who you hangout with afterall. Though it wasn’t always true, it seemed fitting for this situation.
“I guess you’ll just have to find out won’t you?” Cole joked, looking back at you over his shoulder.
Eventually the two of you climbed a set of stairs hidden in the back of the tea shop. Upstairs was a small apartment looking room with multiple sets of doors, one of them being your own room.
It was a decent size, about the same as the one you had back home, with plenty of closet space.
“It’s not much I know,” Cole said, “but there’s been worse places we’ve stayed trust me.”
“No it’s perfect,” you insisted. “I don’t need a whole lot to get by.”
Cole nodded, setting your stuff down. “There’s two bathrooms, the boys and I share the one on the left, and you’ll be sharing with Nya on the right.”
You nodded, looking around your new room, thinking of all the ways you could make it look homier. Cole didn’t say anything more, but he didn’t leave either. He simply stood in your doorframe, looking at you, looking at your bare room.
“What?” You asked him, smiling.
“Nothing,” he shook his head with a grin. “Sorry, I’ll let you get settled in.”
You wanted to tell him it was no problem, but he vanished before you could. Out of all the boys you had just met, was the best looking in your eyes.
Shiny black hair, tall, and built like the mountains he commanded. Your new job was off to a good start already.
It was well into the evening when you finally met Nya. She sighed thankfully at the sight of you. She loved her brother, and she didn’t have any problems with the boys. They were all equally respectful, but other than Misako she had no other girls to talk to.
You too were happy for another girl to talk to. There was only so much testosterone someone could be around.
The two of you got along quickly as you offered to stock some shelves with her. Even though you were technically here to train the ninja, you weren’t due to start until the next day.
Your alarm woke you up at six thirty sharp. You know you weren’t supposed to start with the boys until eight that morning, but you wanted to get an early start on your first day before you got lazy.
Passing your way to the bathroom, you ran through your morning routine groggily before you headed downstairs to make yourself a cup of tea to wake you up.
Scanning the shelves for something that looked appetizing for the early morning, you didn’t even hear someone approach you from behind.
“I personally like this one,” a familiar voice said from behind you before a hand shot out and grabbed a case off one of the shelves just a hair too high for you to reach.
You jump slightly, startled by the person’s presence.
Spinning around, you saw the voice and arm belonged to Cole. He was smiling softly at you, a case of green tea in his hands. He too held the appearance of just waking up–tousled hair, sleepy eyes, and the lack of a shirt with black plaid pajama pants.
You quickly averted your eyes from his bare chest and instead found refuge in his earth eyes.
“Why green?” You blurted. It was the only question you could think of at this moment. And maybe it would distract him from the fact you were ogling him just a bit.
“Helps with energy,” he shrugged, tossing the case up in one hand. “I’ll start the kettle.”
It took you an embarrassingly long time to follow him to the back of the tea shop where a small kitchen resided.
He filled the kettle up with water and placed it on the stove before taking a seat at the island next.
“I’d make you some breakfast, but I’m afraid it wouldn’t be edible and that’s not the first impression I want you to have of me.” Cole laughed sheepishly.
You laughed with him before you took it upon yourself to scope out the fridge.
“How do you feel about omelets?” You asked after finding multiple cases of eggs. With this many ingredients you would be able to feed the whole team.
“I’m down,” he nodded.
You closed the fridge slightly before you saw a slip of paper taped to the front. It seemed to be a list of written chores, and at the bottom written in all capital letters next to a star were the words, ‘COLE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE KITCHEN UNSUPERVISED.’
“Jeez, what’d you do?” You giggled, gesturing to the paper.
The boy flushed slightly, shrugging his broad shoulders before saying, “You set fire to the oven one time and suddenly you’re untrustworthy.” He rolled his eyes.
“Funny how that works.”
“Hilarious.” He deadpanned.
“Well since you can’t help with the food why don’t you just grab anything you want to add to the eggs, help me find the pans, and I’ll take care of the cooking part.” You suggested.
“That I can do,” he slipped off the stool.
Even though he wasn’t helping with the actual breakfast, the two of you worked in harmony together. He’d hand you the spatula, chop some vegetables, and give you some spices upon request. However, when you thought you could trust him with cracking an egg and he ended up getting it all over his bare torso you took it upon yourself to tie a black apron around him.
“Seriously?” He laughed as you tied the knot around his waist.
“Yup,” you nodded. “Damn. I’d need a magnifying glass to find your waist.”
He tipped his head back and laughed as you returned to flipping omelets with a smirk.
At this point you had successfully made two cups of tea, and three omelets. On the fourth, you were starting to grow more confident.
“Think I could flip it without a spatula?” You asked.
“No,” Cole shook his head, now seated on the island behind you.
“No faith,” you gasped, offended.
“I’ll believe it when I see it,” he shrugged, leaning back on his palms.
“Oh yeah?” You challenged before grasping the pan handle with both hands. You’d never done this before, but how hard could it be really? The answer was not very as you successfully tossed up an omelet and caught it gently on the other side.
You cheered, victorious as Cole also encouraged you, both laughing all the way.
Eventually, more and more people started waking up, and the more competent ones (Zane) began to help you with breakfast.
By the time eight in the morning rolled around, breakfast had been done, dishes were washed, and you were gathered in the courtyard with each of the ninja. Wu had given you the rundown of what he’d like you to work on with his students, and that’s exactly what you’d do.
“So,” you said, shaking the jitters out of your hands. “I’m thinking I’ll just spar one on one with each of you to see what you need to work on. Okay?”
The boys traded uneasy glances. “Are you sure?” Jay asked.
You smiled a little at their apprehension. “Yes, I’m positive. We’re just sparring, remember. But don’t hold back, otherwise it’s just a waste of time.”
“Yeah, you get your ass handed to you by Nya all the time, this shouldn’t be different.” Cole patted Jay on the back.
The others laughed at Jay’s blush and he grumbled something inaudible under his breath.
“Okay Jay, since you’re so worried you’re up first.” You waved him over. “Sensei said no powers.”
“Right,” Jay nodded as he approached you slowly.
“I’m not gonna bite you, Jay.”
“I know that!” He defended as the boys behind him howled with laughter.
You couldn’t help but tease him as the two of you got into a fighting stance.
You dug your feet into the ground and steadied your breathing. The key to combat was focus, controlled breathing, and anticipation. At least that’s what your father told you.
It was no surprise to you that Jay attacked quickly. He was the master of lightning afterall. However, that was what made him so predictable.
He’d throw a series of quick jabs that you avoided with grace. With each attack you’d be just an inch out of reach. Jay was quick–but you were quicker.
You didn’t notice it, but the chatter was nonexistent, and Jay was wholly focused on sparring. Though the sweat building on his forehead, and his attacks slowing were also becoming more prominent.
He threw a high kick in there this time, which was just what you were waiting for. The second his foot came off the ground, you moved to the side, grabbed his ankle, and with your own leg, swept his balancing leg off the ground causing him to fall straight onto his back.
Jay landed with a wheeze, but you helped him up just as quickly. “Your attacks are precise, but they’re sloppy. You try to cram in a lot of combined attacks and hope for the best. If you slow them down a bit you’re more likely to land a few.”
Kai ‘Ohed’ from the sidelines. “You didn’t even get one hit dude.”
Jay glared at him as he took a seat beside Lloyd.
“And you won’t either, your turn.” You pointed to Kai.
The others laughed, but Kai rose, determination clear on his face.
You got into position again, but this time you’d change up your evasion techniques. Since he spent the previous match observing you he no doubt knew some of your moves.
Kai fought more aggressively than Jay, but with less accuracy making him easier to avoid. You twirled around him after a hard punch threw him off balance slightly. With your backs to each other, you only had a moment to grab his arm, crouch, shift your weight, and flip his body over yours.
Kai landed as hard as Jay.
After explaining his problem to him, you called up Zane next. You wanted to get the analyzing robot out of the way before you completely ran out of cards to play.
You had to admit, Zane almost got you, but you quickly threw yourself from his reach with a well timed aerial over his shoulder. Just as you landed he threw a punch, but you were ready for that. You crouched the moment you landed, and swept both his legs.
Standing quickly, you had just enough time to catch the front of his gi, suspending him above the floor ever so slightly. You felt a bit bad–you didn’t want to dent him after all.
Lloyd whistled, impressed, as he was finally called to the stand.
Lloyd, the green ninja. You knew he would also be pretty difficult, but it was like you were in a trance at the moment. You weren’t about to lose your winning streak, were you?
Being as flexible as you were didn’t hurt either. Sure the ninja were pretty flexible, but you could contort yourself into the most uncomfortable positions making it easy to avoid each of the ninja's blows.
All you had to do was wait until they tired themselves out, and then deliver the final blow. It was almost as if they were fighting themselves.
Lloyd looked concentrated, but his stance was off slightly. You feinted one way, and he fell for it easily, shifting all his weight onto one side of his body to prepare for the hit he thought was coming. Instead, you spun and shoved your shoulder hard into the opposite side of his body.
Lloyd crumbled like a house of cards.
When the green ninja retreated with a defeated look on his face, you were left with only one ninja now.
You suspected because of his height, Cole would be slow and off balance, but you were wrong. He was sturdy, and his height only added to his balance if anything. You’ve fought people bigger and stronger than you all the time, bad unlucky for him they only went down one way.
After a while of going through your song and dance of avoidance once again, Cole laughed.
“You’re slippery, huh?” He joked.
You winked before sliding between his legs, kicking the back of his knees and then once more between his shoulder blades to send him tumbling down to the ground.
“Wu was right,” you huffed, wiping the sweat from your forehead. “You guys rely way too much on your powers.”
“Alright, cough it up, where’d you learn that?” Jay asked.
“Learn what?” You laughed, helping a grumpy Cole from the floor.
“You flip around so much I got sick from just looking at you!” Jay whined.
“Lots of practice and some time in the cirque,” she shrugged.
“Like the circus?” Cole asked, looking down at you.
“Not the stuff with the tent and the animals,” you clarified. “More like the Cirque Du Soleil shows, you know? Anyway, I did a lot of acro as a kid. Made it easy to learn combat.”
“That’s awesome,” Kai said. “Have you ever juggled fire?”
“I told you, it’s not the tent type of circus,” you laughed. “It’s classier than that. That’s besides the point, you all have work to do. Lucky for all of you we’re going to start with yoga today! Just as a warm up.”
You giggled behind your hand at the unanimous groan coming from all five boys.
The ninja think Lloyd has a twin brother after seeing an old photo of a pair of blonde and brunette teenagers in an old album.
They completely forgot about the fact that the (really old) picture held two teenagers and is a photo they don’t remember. And that Lloyd didn’t become a teenager under the most normal of ways.
After theorising for an entire night after sending Lloyd on a random mission, they came to the conclusion that Lloyd’s long lost twin must be living on the streets, like Lloyd once was. And since Lloyd was evil on the streets before living with the ninja, only to then become the most good person alive, then by magical twin logic Lloyd’s twin is the actual evil one with a traumatic backstory.
In hopes of not letting Lloyd remember (they assume he either chooses to hide those memories in pain or he has amnesia) of his evil and having left him behind family member number 2 (3 on the second one) they go out searching for a brunette teenage evil whose trying to take over the world in a random village.
After a whole week of searching they found squat and Lloyd and Wu got tired of it all, and cornered them to spill the truth. Shockingly enough, it was Zane who was feeling the most pressure over the secret and blurted it out with a little of pressure. Before crying out apologies over not finding his evil twin brother and saving him from the “DARK VISCOUS PATH GARAMDON WAS FORCED DOWNNN IT WAS ALL OUR FAULTSSSSS” as he sobbed.
Wu and Lloyd, rightfully confused, and very concerned because to be perfectly honest this would be expected of their family after Morro was hidden from them (Wu please don’t have any more secret hidden children) and how they are in general, call Misako and Garmadon.
Garmadon screams and Misako is very much prepared to murder everyone, because she can remember her own pregnancy thank you very much. Until, well, she remembers the family she joined. And the job she has. And then when the Ninja are convinced something is up, and even Lloyd is nearing the same state his father and Zane are in, with Wu questioning he should actually go through that old scrapped plan to kidnap Morro from the Departed realm if this random twin is also dead, Misako yells at them all to be quiet and wait for her and Garmadon to show up. Harumi can be heard cackling in the background when they all end the call.
When Misako and Garmadon arrive, the ninja and co are found completely silent. Misako is already sick of it all and Garmadon look like he might strangle the ninja for answers, so she just straight up asks them what made them convinced Lloyd has a twin.
Lloyd, Wu, Garmadon and Misako all stare at the ninja, who in turn sweat. Slowly, Nya gets up to grab a book off the shelf they hid it between.
And when they opened it to the page the picture was in, they were all silent as they absorbed it all in.
Then Wu snorted, and it became chaos after. Garmadon was both laughing his ass off and cussing them all out. Misako was muffling her own snorts behind her hands, shaking as she struggles to hold herself up on a wall, the ninja are staring completely baffled as Wu is giggling into his hat, and Lloyd is glaring confused between the two people in the picture, before slowly looking up and asking “is…is this?…”
The ninja are even more confused and even a little offended by that, and Kai starts pointing at it all like “Its your evil twin! I swear it!! Who..ahem, looks a lot like a certain old classmate right-”
And Wu just gets up, grabs the album, looks at Garmadon, and says “Lloyd really does look similar to us, doesn’t he?”
And Garmadon, who was wondering if he should stab the ninja after giving him such a huge scare, scoffs and says “Of course he doesn’t, he looks exactly like Misako!” And then looks at the picture and says “…Though, he does have my amazing hair, and your ugly eyebrows.” Lloyd takes zero offence and believes it a compliment when it comes to him.
It takes a second more of silence before Misako begins snorting again at the ninja’s faces when they realise.
Jay’s jaw is dropped, Cole is staring between Garmadon and Lloyd, Zane begins scanning the photos with Wu and Garmadon’s face, Nya is trying to ask for an actual explanation, Kai is frozen, and Lloyd.
Lloyd literally falls on the ground in relief. He’s had enough family drama to deal with, no more is necessary.
Part 1
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY FOR Y'ALL! So glad i was able to finish this the day before valentines from where I'm from so I can be free tomorrow onwards aka the day this is set to be uploaded. And think of this as my lil valentines gift for y'all ^^
From what I can tell the comic might be done in 4/5 parts maybe 6 it just depends how much free time i have irl.
But I'm very happy with myself to keep being motivated to make this comic have quality in visuals and I'm dreading how i am approaching the dialogues soon T -T) and the major reveal for my AU which hopefully will explain what my AU is all about and it will be angst and gruesome, especially on the visuals but for now I'm going turtle pace.
And another reason why I've also been holding this off was because whether or not to make a custom font for this comic because when I went to go and draw the "..." I realized how cool it would be if i made a custom font for this. But it might take some time for me to figure out how to do it again, since it's been a long while since the last time I've made a custom font and import it into ibispaint.
Anywho that's all for today! Stay creative y'all o7
I’m gonna confess that for some time I pondered if I should write that anyone BUT Jay remember the events of Skybound, seeing he’s the only one to not die
I know what you’re thinking. “What!? Then there would be no comfort! No aftermath!? Are you serious?”
And hold your horses.
Imagine seeing your brother looking like a corpse with countless dislocated, broken or torn limbs, him confessing how bad it feels, you feeling guilty (since he repeated how alone he always was), then after you die, come back and see him in no better state, then die again, he doesn’t remember anything.
I know it’s lame now that I outline it, but it was a silly idea just seeing everyone looking at him pitifully while not understanding how they’re back (they died when he wished), fearing they’re in a time loop or something
IDK I just thought it would be a nice idea to have angst for the rest of the team after 10 chapters of Jay angst
Imagine having to tell your brother you basically left him for dead, that you died, and that he doesn’t remember anything and is forced to never know what he totally went through on that ship (OR TO DO BUT NOT DO???? Then he would get nightmares or some shi so we don’t leave the Jay angst completely)
NEJCJE ITS NOT HAPPENING, but I liked it as an idea to involve the others as well like on a deeper level
Note
how do you think the ninja would react if their lover proposed to them
After all the angst I've gotten, this one is so cute and definitely needed in the ninjago fandom!!! It's a bit more on the shorter version, but I hope you like it still 🫶
Ninjago Headcanons { Popping the big question }
Tumblr media
~Lloyd Garmadon~
The whole world would pause for a moment before he could react. Without another breath wasted, he smiled and agreed. He got tears in the waterline from joy, holding your hand for the rest of the day whenever he could.
~Kai Smith~
He would definitely jokingly say you beat him to asking, but nonetheless, he agreed. For the rest of the week, he wouldn't leave you alone, but if asked about him, he will deny immediately.
~Cole Brookstone~
Please, he'd grin widely and say yes. He loved you and was happy to know you felt the same. His heart would be picking up on speed. He'd lie, saying that he wasn't that affected by it.
~Zane Julian~
Bless his soul, he genuinely needs a minute to process the question of the moment. The tiniest smile would reach his face eventually as he agreed, hugging you with a peck on your cheek and getting butterflies in his system. He had to get rid of them later than evening.
~Jay Walker~
He'd jump out of joy, pulling you into a kiss after a fast yes. He would tell you immediately how much he loved you. Let's just say that no one would hear the end of it for the next few weeks.
~Nya Smith~
She'd get shy for a second, smiling as she kissed your hairline, saying yes. She's happy to say she is now committed to someone for the rest of her life. Bringing you into a gental hug with a slight squeeze from excitement.
~~~
I hope you all enjoyed reading it!!♡

"Expectations" A Naturaldisaster* Fic
[*Poly ship with Jay, Cole, Geo, and Nya.]
Jay struggles with self-identity and relationships after losing his memories in the merge, and some familiar faces have been trying to help him through it... but it's an unfamiliar one that finally gets through to him. 3,437 words | Rated T, some suggestive themes/references | Angst and Comfort
Read below, or on ao3!
✧《✩》✧
The boy in the photograph almost looked like him.
Closely cropped hair modeled the same ginger hue as his current mop of curls, and a youthful face bore traces of freckles not yet matured under the sun. The boy was hemmed in on both sides by faces Jay only partly recognized– younger versions of the people that claimed to know him before the Merge. Cole stood on his right, Nya his left, squeezing in tight with arms threaded through his elbows. Their bright smiles and casual displays of affection almost made all those outlandish stories about his past feel plausible. Almost.
The longer he stared at the photograph, the deeper his unease grew. It was like peering into an alternate timeline, or some washed-up magician's crystal ball; everything felt frustratingly familiar and terribly wrong at the same time, like a word lingering at the tip of his tongue and never finding its way past his lips. Here was a moment in time preserved in a frame, yet all of his memories were nothing but static. This memory didn't belong to him anymore. He couldn't be sure it ever did.
"You and Cole were real close."
The gravelled voice jolted him out of his thoughts. Jay turned towards it, mildly relieved to see the one person that didn't claim a long, complicated history with him. Geo lingered in the threshold to the bedroom, leaning against the doorframe.
Jay frowned. "So I've heard."
Geo countered his frown with a soft smile. He shut the door quietly behind him, though there was little need for privacy; Cole was watching the little gremlins with Bonzle over at the Monastery, allowing Jay and Geo an evening alone at the junkyard. Not that Jay would have objected to Cole's involvement, of course, except perhaps in this very conversation. "He told me a lot about you," Geo said. "About the two of you. You and Nya, too."
Jay rolled his eyes and gave an irritated huff, making sure to amp up the theatrics. "Oh, great. And here I was thinking I'd finally met someone who doesn't have all these expectations of me."
"Expectations?"
"Everyone thinks they know me better than I know me, but they don't," Jay said, letting the bitterness drip from each word like Venomari spit. "They all try to tell me how I felt, what I liked, and how I acted, as if it makes any difference now." He set the picture frame down on the dresser with a pointed clank, his gaze still fixed on it. His old self smiled back naively. "That version of me doesn't exist anymore."
He hadn't realized Geo moved closer until he felt a hand on his upper arm, gently refocusing his attention to a faint, saddened smile. "But he did exist once, didn't he?"
Something twinged in his chest, a pang of everything he'd tried so hard to suppress; he put on a good show of not caring about his supposed past, but here he was longing for his companion's words to be true. Heat rose to his cheeks and yearning flared into annoyance, brightening Jay's red eyes in a flash. He jerked his arm away. "I don't know! How should I know? I have no memories of anything before the Merge."
"I know," Geo said gently. He gestured to the photograph with a nod of his head. "But they do. Cole and Nya knew you intimately– whether you believe that or not, that's their truth. It's natural they want to share that with you, Jay. Even if things are different now."
Jay crossed his arms and turned away, taking a few steps towards the bed. It was neatly made in anticipation for his arrival, a third pillow living between the usual two. He glared at it with practiced indifference. "I'm not the person they all think I am."
"Maybe...maybe not. But you are someone they want to know, aren't you?"
"Only because they think I'm their ex."
Geo crossed the space between them with light-footed steps, as though approaching too quickly would scare him away like a bird rustled from the bushes. He placed a hand on his back and leaned forward to catch a glimpse of his face, which Jay angled away to avoid his probing eyes. "You're not my ex."
"No," Jay admitted. "I'm not." That much was undeniably true. With the other two, he at least felt a nagging ache of familiarity somewhere at the back of his fuzzy mind, and had visual proof to back up their claims of previous relationships. Geo, however, was a blank slate. A different kind of mystery to unravel, with a whole different set of complications. Jay finally met his gaze, and the adoration– or perhaps infatuation– he found there was as enabling as it was overwhelming. "...I'm just something new to tinker on, aren't I? A broken man to fuse back together?"
Geo's elven ears drooped. The adoring look morphed into that of a kicked puppy, and for a moment Jay almost regretted his words, though only briefly; sick satisfaction was quick to lock its jaws around his neck. As much as Geo seemed to enjoy “fixing” him, these days Jay got his kicks by ruining everyone he touched.
“Of course not, Jay,” Geo said. He sounded so sincere. Maybe he even was. “What would ever give you that idea?”
Jay snorted. “Please. That’s like…your whole thing, isn’t it? Turning trash into 'treasure'?” He reached over to the nightstand, picking up a mini sculpture welded together with Geo’s fusion powers. It was a figure, seemingly of Cole, frozen in a heroic pose and sculpted of scrap materials. Bits of metal, bottle caps, rusty gears and coils. He waved it at Geo with a sneering smile before tossing it at him underhand. Geo scrambled to catch it. “I’m just your newest project.”
“You are not– and be careful with that, that was an anniversary present.” Geo fussed over the figure, ensuring all of the repurposed trash was in the proper place. When he seemed satisfied, he carefully set it back on its place of honor.
“See? You care more about your things than you do me. Why do you even still make stuff with that junk? You said you could live anywhere now, you could be out there making…literally anything else, with literally anything else. Why a junkyard?" Despite a judgemental tone, his curiosity was genuine– Jay couldn't imagine why anyone would willingly live in a place like this, much less rummage through other people's trash to use as materials.
“...I like it," Geo said, his voice so quiet Jay nearly couldn’t hear it. He averted his gaze and began worrying the tassled hem of his vest. “This place was my home when I never had one of my own, and… I don’t know. I like giving lost things a purpose. Even if I’m not lost myself anymore.”
Giving lost things a purpose. The words struck a chord somewhere inside Jay, like the ringing of the gong he still felt resonate through his bones. He pushed the feeling deep down into the yawning pit in his stomach. “Oh yeah? What’s my purpose, then, oh great Purpose-Giver?”
Geo halted his nervous fidgeting. Slowly, he raised his gaze to study Jay's face, feathered brows knitting together over probing eyes. "Your purpose?"
"Since you're the expert."
His lips pursed into a taut line, broken only by his two protruding lower teeth. “Well...what do you want your purpose to be?”
Oh great, the cryptic wise-man routine. Jay groaned, throwing his head back in exaggerated exasperation. “Nevermind. I’m sorry I asked.”
“Jay, you know I can’t answer that for you. That’s something you have to discover for yourself.”
Though delicately spoken, his words hit like bricks. He wasn’t wrong, and Jay knew that. He hated that he knew that. He’d been struggling to establish a new purpose since leaving the Administration, since being abandoned by his master, Ras; so far, he’d come no closer to achieving that. “Yeah. Sure. Whatever.”
Geo stepped closer, extending a hesitant hand to clasp one of Jay’s. Jay stared down at it blankly. “You aren’t alone," Geo said. "If there’s any way I can help you on that journey, I, and surely Cole and Nya, would happily—”
Jay gripped Geo's hand like a vice and yanked him close. Their chests collided, and the sudden motion elicited a yelp from Geo, quickly stifled into an insistent kiss. At first he didn't return it, but slowly his lips softened to accommodate Jay's; not quite the same level of energy, but Jay had no issues picking up the slack. This was his element...at least, it was lately. An electricity unlike any he wielded in a fight. His free hand grappled at Geo’s waist, attempting to pull him even closer as though fusion could merge their bodies into one.
He nipped at Geo’s lips, eliciting small noises in response but otherwise minimal reciprocation. Jay let go of his hand and took him by both hips, blindly maneuvering him towards the bed until he felt Geo’s calves bump against the frame. Geo pulled away from the kiss and gasped for the air he'd been passionately deprived of. “Jay…”
Jay kicked an ankle out from under Geo and allowed the two of them to fall onto the mattress, to another surprised yelp from Geo. Jay landed on top of him and wasted no time to dive back into a kiss, propping himself up with one arm and grabbing at Geo’s cropped shirt with the other. Everything in Jay's head had melted away, leaving only this. Only the moment they shared. Nothing else mattered.
Nothing else mattered.
Nothing else mattered.
Geo broke the kiss once more by turning his face away from Jay's mouth, which began to travel along Geo’s jawline and neck instead. Roving fingers teased the hem of Geo's shirt, before being abruptly grabbed and held tight. “Jay,” Geo repeated, more forcefully this time. “Can you just— hold on a second?”
Hold on? Jay pushed himself upright to the best of his ability, just enough that he could get a good look at Geo’s face; his cheeks were flushed a dark reddish-purple, but rather than the usual blissful or flustered expression, he carried a troubled air that gave Jay additional pause. “...What?”
“Jay…I…this is…” Geo fumbled his words, seeming unable to land on any. He rubbed Jay’s fingers absently with his own. “I…I don’t know if I’m in the mood…for this…right now.”
Jay felt himself deflate under the crushing weight of returning reality. “What? Why? What do you mean?” he said, unable to keep the panic out of his voice.
“I just– it's nothing you did, and it's not that I don't enjoy it, but… maybe we could just...talk, tonight?"
Jay’s pulse quickened. A litany of unsavory thoughts spiraled in his brain, a tornado of self-loathing that had long since been percolating, just waiting for an excuse to gain momentum. He’d made Geo uncomfortable. How? This was supposed to be the fix. The smooth-over, the nonverbal apology for every passive-aggressive comment that spilled from his mouth that night. How had he managed to mess this up too? “Talk? That’s— no, I’m not good at talking. Please, I’m not— this is the only thing I’m good at,” he said, the words spilling from his mouth before he could stop them. “Please, Geo, this is the only thing I’m good at. Don’t take that away from me, I—” He caught himself mid-sentence, realization sinking in at Geo’s increasingly concerned expression. “...No. I’m sorry. It’s fine, actually. I don’t even care. That’s fine. No worries, I’ll just— I’m gonna go, then.”
He started to push himself to his feet, and Geo hurried to grasp his arms, pulling him back. “Jay,” Geo said, voice as firm as his grip. “Stay. It’s alright, you don’t have to leave.”
 “Yes I do. I can’t do all this…this…talking. All these emotions. I told you, I’m not good at it. I’m not good at it like you, I don’t— all I do is make people feel bad.”
“You’re not trying to.”
"Sometimes I am. Sometimes I enjoy it, too. I’m really, really good at making people feel bad, Geo. But this…this is the one time where I feel like I can make people feel good, and…” His chest tightened along with his throat, and his eyes stung with tears that threatened to form. He heaved a dry sob, like a breath caught in reverse. “If I’m not good at that, what am I? Just some asshole with amnesia? Geo, I don’t know who the fuck I am. I don’t know, I don’t know, I don’t—” The floodgates burst, sending rivers of electrified tears streaming down his cheeks in a trail of static shocks. His shoulders shuddered as another sob overtook him. “I don’t know who I am.”
“Hey, hey now, it’s alright.” Geo reached up to swipe at Jay’s tears, jumping slightly at the static that crackled on his thumb. He shook it off, wholly undeterred. “Come on. Come here.” He shuffled himself further onto the bed and laid down on the pillows, beckoning Jay to join him with wide, open arms.
Jay sniffled, staring at him for a long moment before he finally gave in— what more did he have to lose? His dignity was already long gone. He crawled over to him and flopped into Geo’s arms, head landing on his chest. Geo completed the gesture by wrapping his arms tightly around Jay’s upper body in turn.
As soon he sunk into the embrace, the sobs increased in intensity, and the tears poured onto Geo’s shirt. Geo only held him tighter, a granted permission that Jay had never even given himself: to cry freely.
Neither of them spoke. Jay wouldn’t even think of attempting it in that state, lest he be reduced to even more of a blubbering mess; he’d admitted plenty already, and Geo didn’t seem to mind the lack of conversation. He merely hummed a comforting tune under his breath and rubbed gentle circles into Jay’s back. It was a strange sensation, to be cared for. Jay wasn’t sure he knew what to do with it. He didn’t understand how Geo offered it so easily, like it was second nature to him. But the embrace felt…nice, Jay supposed.
He had no idea if he’d ever cried like this before. It certainly felt like a first. Had the old him sobbed on Nya or Cole’s chest? Did he cry over every little thing, or had it only happened when he reached a breaking point? Did he feel as ashamed of his tears then as he did now? Jay had no answers for any of those questions, and wasn’t sure if he truthfully wanted them. All he knew was that, be it a first or not, he was sobbing in Geo’s arms. And in some odd, twisted way, it felt good.
He wasn’t sure how long he cried. It ebbed and flowed like a wave, building up to a crescendo just to crash and settle once more. Eventually, though, his tear ducts began to dry up, and the tightness in his chest began to ease. Geo wordlessly stretched an arm over to the nightstand to grab a tissue, which Jay gratefully accepted— he felt like he was drowning in his own facial fluids, and was eager to regain some composure. Geo just laid there, observing while Jay aggressively wiped his face, blew his nose, and tossed the balled-up tissue onto the floor. Jay let his head fall back on Geo’s chest. His neck felt weak. And Geo was warm. “Don’t tell Cole or Nya about this,” he mumbled.
“About what? You littering tissues on my floor?” Geo said, earning a slight amused huff.
“You know what I mean.”
“Yeah. I won’t. But having emotions isn’t a crime, you know. I don’t think either of them would judge you for it.”
“They should. It’s gross. I hate it. Don’t tell them.”
Geo chuckled softly, the heave of his chest shaking Jay’s head. “I won’t, I won’t.”
“Good.” He considered leaving it at that, but a dreaded seed of guilt began nagging at the back of his tired mind. He curled his arm around Geo’s torso and sniffed. “...Thanks.”
Geo craned his neck to place a gentle kiss on the top of his head, amidst his fluffy curls. Barely did it graze his scalp, but he felt it resonate down to his very core. “Any time.”
They laid there in silence for longer than Jay could keep track of, despite his attempts to keep time by the ticking wall clock and the beating of Geo’s heart. It thump-thumped a steady rhythm, as dependable as its carrier. Slowly, the internal lullaby lured him into a deep, inescapable slumber.

Cole
Despite having their own room in the Monastery, neither Spitz nor Fritz would be deterred from sleeping in their ‘own beds’ that night. Cole certainly couldn’t deny them that, even though he was well aware they’d be sleeping in his arms before they even arrived—and they were. Or, at least Spitz was. Fritz was determined to walk regardless of his barely open eyes, guided like a sleepwalker by Cole’s hand.
He didn’t blame the two of them for wanting to come back. While the monastery was like a home to him, the first to take him in after striking out on his own, the Finder’s residence was his home. His, Geo’s, Bonzle’s, Spitz and Fritz’s. Maybe it was once made from necessity, a lack of freedom…but it became a choice to stay. And it was a choice he was happy to keep making.
The house was quiet and dark when they walked in. Curious, he had expected at least a couple lights, or to hear some muted conversation. Everything felt so…still. Cole shifted Spitz on his hip. “Bonzle, can you take the kids to their room? I gotta check on the love birds.”
“Can do,” Bonzle said, reaching out to take Spitz from Cole with a soft grunt of effort. Cole transferred Fritz’s hand to hers and the three adoptive siblings made their way to the younger one’s bedroom.
Cole smiled after them, and then turned his attention to the closed door across the hall. He approached cautiously and gave a small knock. “Jay, Geo? I’m home.” Without a response, he tried the doorknob—unlocked—and opened the door as quietly as he could muster.
It was dark in the bedroom, too. As Cole peered in, a strip of soft blue light illuminated the pair sleeping on the bed above the blankets, still fully clothed. Jay was laying somewhat on top of Geo, with his head resting on his chest and one of Geo’s arms draped loosely across his back. It was as heartwarming a sight as it was surprising to see Jay cuddled up on Geo the way he used to cuddle up on Cole. The way he denied ever doing before.
Geo peeked open an eye as the light hit him, sleepy confusion giving way to a smile when he noticed his partner standing in the doorway. He beckoned for him, and Cole was quick to comply, leaning down to give Geo a peck on the lips before gingerly climbing into bed. He moved slow and deliberately so as not to wake sleeping beauty, managing to position himself in a spooning position against Jay’s back with his head on the pillow next to Geo. He stacked his arm on top of the one that currently cradled Jay, enveloping him in a dual hug.
Jay shifted and let out a muffled groan, and Cole froze, unsure if Jay would appreciate or allow the intrusion. It wasn’t long before he got his answer by way of Jay’s hand fumbling into theirs, weakly grasping at their wrists and pulling them tighter around his body. He stretched his legs, shimmied his shoulders, and let out a long, drawn-out sigh—content, or perhaps resigned— before settling back into sleep between the two of them.
Tension released from Cole’s shoulders, and he sighed happily in turn. Whether or not Jay would acknowledge this night ever again, much less allow it to be more than a fluke, Cole would appreciate every moment while he had it, this glimpse of his old jay resurfacing.
I know you’re in there, Jay, was the last thought that crossed Cole’s mind as rest began to claim him. And we’re right here.
