Thus, here's the cracky Havenites all play Ticket to Ride Space Edition.

Eloise's poker face gives her an advantage and the bloc of lightly allied (much in the way of glances is employed to ensure that the Navy can block the Commissioners from winning) RHN officers keep struggling to read her. Except Javier, who unofficially isn't a part of the secret naval alliance.

The sun rose over Nouveau Paris. Hope had started to burn to dark ashes with the death of Admiral Giscard at Lovat, and had burnt to dust by now, with the knowledge of the planned Mantie attack on Haven to come any day now, from Eighth Fleet, like the last war, and with the knowledge that the Republic wouldn't be getting any ceasefires this time around, as well as the news of the capture of one of Haven’s best Admirals, Admiral Tourville, and the near-complete loss of Admiral Chin’s Fifth Fleet, which had limped back to Haven with 17 ships, out of an original 85 podlayers. The sun, ironically named Hope, rose over not the reborn Republic, the Athens of the stars, but a Republic waiting for the death blow from the sword of Eighth Fleet, which they all knew was coming.

Author's Note: This is the last really dark sunrise, just saying. Sorry for getting a little behind on the tumblr posts, I've just been using the queue, and not posting the chapter here, even in the queue until after it comes out on Ao3.

Or, the one where the Fab Four aren’t the worst class Nero’s ever had. Not by a long shot.

Quite possibly the worst idea I’ve ever had, but here we go!

This is specifically Honorverse characters at HIVE. (If we were doing this the other way around, GLOVE/Overlord would be some sort of Manpower plot, given the clones and all. Which I guess would probably make Cypher our Simoes analogue and Nero either Kevin Usher or Anton Zilwicki? He’s not quite... enough to be Victor Cachat.)

Alpha stream: Honor, Mike Henke, Lester Tourville, Thomas Theisman, and Javier Giscard

Nimitz is also technically in the Alpha stream. He has his own little jumpsuit makes the same amount of trouble as the rest of the students combined.

Ms. Leon might also be a treecat? Though giving a teacher telepathy probably is a bit unfair to any scheming.

Honor and Mike are both legacy students. All the Havenites are sponsored.

I’m torn between Honor’s legacy coming from her “trouble magnet“ father’s side or her “(probably not evil) scientist“ mother’s, so why not both? Uncle Jacques is HIVE’s biology and unarmed combat teacher.

The “hauntingly familiar“ one is Theisman. (Have no clue what the mystery mom is doing, though.)

Or how you’d have Jesus Ramirez there and Tomas Ramirez at HIVE. (None of the generational divides are gonna make sense here, I think.)

In just 9 hours the initial objective of raising 500 euros was met, and in 24 hours a total of 32 people donated 703 euros for Lesiat. The boy and his father, Armando Torres Pozo, will receive 627.64 euros, as the campaign website retains 10% of the funds collected. DIARIO DE CUBA will initiate the process to get the money to Torres Pozo and his son, and will continue reporting on this case. Backers of the campaign included the Mariel Bloch Memorial Fund, Omar Álvarez, Javier Marimón, Ileana Serrano, Yaumara Rodríguez, Magela Hernández, Elianys Pérez, Lindomar Placencia, Francesco Celotto, Giselle Martínez, Jorge Casals, Giscard Yanez, Michael Di Giacomo, Yulenia Garrido, Nelson González, Frank Pupo, Jorge Herrera, Gustavo A. He has tried to work independently, selling fried fare and cleaning shoes, but the taxes, scant earnings, and complete attention his child needs have forced him to stay at home. In spite of his situation, Lesiat does not have access to a special diet to improve his nourishment, as Torres Pozo does not even have a kitchen to prepare his son's food. The money raised by this campaign will alleviate at least some of the family's immediate needs. Just a little set of self-prompts I have had lying around. I thought I'd start writing them. At least some of the chapters will be longer than Chapter 1.

The sun rose over Nouveau Paris. It was less blood-caked than before, because after Admiral Theisman had offed St-Just (rumors say he shot him personally, but those same rumors also say that he, the new Presidential candidate (and former StateSec Commissioner), Eloise Pritchart, and her all-but-confirmed-officially fiancé, Admiral Javier Giscard are going to announce themselves as a threesome, any day now) in the recent tradition of Havenite politics and power changes, a good chunk of the rest of the government went along with it, to avoid being shot. Of course, there were the dissenters, who had enjoyed the PRH, and had tried to use violence against him and his supporters, usually because of their job in StateSec. Those had been shot, on the orders of Interim Leader Thomas Theisman, and Interim Leader Eloise Pritchart.

The sun rose over Nouveau Paris, with some specks of it darkened like ash specks, by the Manties’s Eighth Fleet. While it wasn’t as bloody, its fire and flares still showed the pain that had existed in the President’s heart since the news of Lovat had reached her. Eloise and Honor were standing together on the balcony, their security teams keeping watch, as everyone else got ready for another day of negotiations. 

Hope started to warm Eloise’s face, as a sunbeam reached them, and Honor said gently,“The sunrise is pretty, Madame President.” President Pritchart nodded in agreement, while trying to hide her emotional pain behind the masking she had used as a People’s Commissioner for years.

Then, Admiral Theisman walked out, joining the two women (and a treecat) watching Hope rise over Nouveau Paris, and extended a hand to Eloise. She took it.

The sun rose over Nouveau Paris. Hope for a new day was in the air, for the first time in forever, with the ceasefire. The sun, instead of being bloody, like it was during the PRH, was a sign of hope, of peace. President Pritchart’s new government had been doing well, and the economy was recovering. To the dismay of a few, though, President Pritchart still hadn’t revealed that she was in a threesome with her top Admiral, and her more public all-but-confirmed fiancé, from her days as a people’s commissioner, sadly.
