Interweave Crochet Fall 2018
I always think the cool weather months bring out the best in crochet patterns. Summer has its string bikinis, and stringy beach coverups, but some autumnal breezes make the most of what woolly yarn has to offer. This issue has a playful crop top called Suave Sweater by Isa Catepillan in an orange wool blend. It would look even better over a fit and flare dress, and it is possibly you could lengthen the bodice if you wanted it not quite so cropped. This issue has several cabled looks including the oversized Dashing Cardigan by Shannon Mullett-Bowlsby shown here in a camel color, and the Low Key Afghan by Anne McFarland.  Shannon and Jason Mullett-Bowlsby offer a pictorial tutorial on shadow-stitch cables to go along with those projects. The most sophisticated garment in the issue is Poised Cardigan by Natasha Robarge which uses two shades of color to create a pattern that looks good from both sides. There are more garments and more house projects, including, yep, a stuff unicorn head if you are feeling whimsical this fall.
You can find it at your local bookstore or newsstand, or on-line here:

Stitches West 2017
Tumblr media
While I was only able to go for one day, I packed as much as I could into that one day.  The traffic was…well, Bay Area Traffic on a Friday….grueling. So, that did add four hours to the day.  But worth it! The class “Stitch & Click: Photographing your Fibers by Shannon & Jason Mullett-Bowlsby was fantastic. I really didn’t know what to expect….but they exceeded whatever it was. The amount of tips…
