Im glad i can speak Irish fluently, its took me a long time to realize its worth as a language since only a small amount of people can speak it fluently, even in Ireland. like i said this before and during S5 probably five billion times but partly why the SC conflict was so profoundly unsatisfying is that there’s like. the bare minimum fucking acknowledgement of what it means for their relationship to collapse in their daily lives beyond like, Kara whining to Alex and saying “damn it sucks that i can be killed by Kryptonite in this new reality where she’s not up my ass” & Lena going off the deep end cause It’s The Height of Prestige Writing.

Lena sells CatCo? we’re not even touching on how this could’ve been followed by Kara’s special access to L-Corp being revoked & the emotional punch that it would’ve meant for her the first time Lena’s assistant doesn’t just wave her through or someone else is sent to cover any L-Corp event instead of her bc she’s been unofficially banned from the Luthor territory. or how Andrea’s threat of “you’ll be the story” could’ve ended with her actually sicking Kara on Lena and Kara having to navigate the minefield of wanting to believe in Lena but no longer being able to reach out to her and knowing the probability of her actually doing bad shit for once both professionally and personally. 

where’s the scenes when they meet accidentally in public and Kara smiles and almost hugs her on instinct and Lena keeps her at arm’s length with an icy “Miss Danvers”? where’s the Thanksgiving scene with one chair being empty at the table at Kara’s place? Lena’s alone more often than not in the show anyway so simply Lena being shady at the lab or Lena drinking alone at home don’t quite cut it. where’s the scenes during the season, not just at the very end of it, where she realizes how it hurts for all of Kara’s warmth and love and faith to suddenly be missing from her life? that she no longer wants to call Brainy in to solve a problem or reach out to Alex or J’onn because they’re Kara’s friends, not hers, surely they never have been hers anyways, she cannot have them in her life but damn it hurts to think about that. “Lena starts relying on tech instead of people” could’ve just been her shifting to using the Lexosuit and select gadgets to protect herself and her company from every other villain of the week and kicking SG out whenever she shows up trying to help because Lena can’t, won’t, and mustn’t ask for her protection ever again, she can do just fine on her own like before. dumbasses.

SDCC 2019 just hit different.

I don’t know what makes me happier. Katie doing that shouty thing where she points her fingers about. Melissa attempting what we can only assume is flossing. Chyler nodding along encouraging Katie. Or Nicole just dying with laughter in the background.

Katie McGrath: Doesn’t believe Lena will ever be evil, doesn’t believe the show made her character 24 years old, thinks Lena deserves her own show where people listen to her and she’s given the credit she deserves, mentions how the writers forgot Alex is a doctor and how there’d be no angst story if J’onn simply read Lena’s mind, etc., etc….
