Yes, Toby knew. He knew this very well, having once been quite ingrained in the culture until he'd been kicked out of it. But he still kept up with dance the best he could as an outsider looking in, watching the WDC ballroom competitions or keeping up with whatever Broadway choreographers were in the running for that years Tony's. (Fingers crossed for Camille A. Brown this year.) And, of course, checking up on whatever Jason Gilkison was up to these days, like winning a BAFTA.

Whenever Jason Gilkinson incorporates some kind of prop into his dances it never looks out of place. That truly is talent. The whole routine looks like it escaped from an old melodrama from the backstory, color schemes of the lighting and costumes (those different shades of purple just ooze out melancholy, don't they?).
