January 14~01.14, keep doubting and Jaron Namir
Don't try to hide your crimes behind typical behavior of uneducated peasants, saying a lie that this (Which already? Not 3rd) case of remote observation showed wrong results

Headcanon ;; Namir
I canât stop thinking about the time between when the researchers were kidnapped and when Meg decided to work with Darrow. And how calmly she addresses Namir when you run into her. There had to be quite a long time from her throwing acid in his face to being on a first-name basis (even if she tends to use first names to falsely imply closeness). Got a feeling he wasnât allowed to be around her on his own for a while, otherwise heâd likely get more stuff thrown at him. Her perceived familiarity with him was nothing but an act. She would feign frailty and kindness to get him to lower his guard and open up to her (benefits of her training as a psychologist). This information she used to further align herself with her captors. He might have seen something else in her, but she saw nothing more than another of her captors.

Another innawoods character. OC written by my friend, for my role-playing game by far cry 5.
However I drew it.
Risus: role-playing system used in this game
Jaron Namir\ Snake
Jaron is an old-school scout who prefers brute force in the majority. But despite the rage in battle, the Snakes in the world are steadfast and calm as a rock, which is very difficult to bring out of balance. Namir is an unsurpassed soldier, steadfastly loyal to his allies and ruthless to his enemies. A man with an iron will, he used to use any means to achieve their goals. Namir is cold and calculating, prefers to resolve conflicts with the help of brute force, tends to manipulate people and ignores the norms of morality, when they prevent him from achieving the desired result.
Lead is a veteran (sometimes might get a flashback about the old days)
A veteran spy (4)- the skill of planning attacks, skirmishes on the middle distance, information capture and interrogation
Blitzkrieg (3) - a Kind of berserk mode, forcing to break into a RAM, knocking down the first who gets in the way
Snake in the grass (3) - Search and disguise by all possible methods, from a simple shelter to an attempt to " get off your»
All yours-my (2) - his weapons and supplies may not be enough for long-term operations, so the ability to steal and search the corpses for the necessary is the place to be
Inventory
- Gentlemen's dinner set in the form of a jacket made of durable leather, dark blue t-shirt, army pants, lightweight shoes with a thick sole
- Police body armor.
- respirator
-MP5K
-4 magazine for MP5 15 cartridges
-Karambit
-cigarette case
- Mossberg 590m caliber 12
-2 magazines for Mossberg 590M for 20 cartridges
- Range Rover in silver
Came to hope County just to relax after work in Syria. Hunting, fishing, green landscapes untouched by globalization, after the exhausted sand which was seen enough at work. Married, kids.

Gives me 'what if Adam was as augmented as Jaron Namir' vibes.
Adam. Random aimless doodle. Maybe I should next "aimlessly" try to visualize the 'pixel' Jc Denton as an actual human ? But then should I use Deus Ex or Deus Ex : Invisible War as reference or both ? Anyway this aimless doodle. Was to kill time between appointments and other things and 1st thing i did of it was... ear. A friend of mine said now he needs V's (Cyberpunk) coat and neon tip on his blades.

In more Discord madness, I mentioned briefly that the idea of Megan and Namir having some sort of attraction appeals to me. The answer quickly turned out to be more complex than I wouldâve been able to lay out in a few sentences, so I decided to turn it into a meta.
(Bear in mind that Iâm no psychologist or sociologist. I can only meta with the knowledge I gained with my own self-studying, and whatever I could find in canon. Also, of course, itâs all speculation in the end.)
Of course, any relationship is inherently skeevy. After all, heâs the one who attacked Adam right in front of her and was obviously working on killing him. She didnât see him shoot, since she was knocked out when it happened, and thereâs no telling how long the period of time was between that incident and waking up on Omega Ranch (or wherever they next woke up, who knows). This is, of course, a massively stressful and traumatic event for anyone, even someone as strong as Megan.
(Say what you want about her, and rightfully so, but no one can say sheâs weak)
Things happen, Megan throws herself into her work after being convinced by Darrow to do so, we know all of that.
I donât doubt that she was terribly stressed and maybe a little traumatized by all the events (psychological trauma isnât something Iâve read much about yet, so I wonât go into any of it here). Stress, however, messes with the mind. The mind can be your own prison. Forced to work in conditions like she was, people generally respond in various ways in order to cope. Megan was one who likely chose to see her âworkâ as something worthy of her attention, and she began to enjoy it. Sheâs a scientist. Sheâs a stereotypical introvert. Her official bio even states she has a vibrant inner world that developed when her parents left her alone during her developmental years. All of those traits meant she had trouble with relationships, also stated in her official bio.
Itâs only been six months, but Megan is grieving over Adamâs death, that of the scientists she worked with, and the stress of the kidnapping and events that followed. Eventually, sheâs isolated from the others in a featureless white room, where she is convinced to work on the new biochip. No doubt, she was lied to and manipulated. No one told her Adam was alive. She was closed off from the world. She didnât know what the biochip was really for. She couldnât know.
The mind works in interesting ways. This is very well documented with abuse victims, with one key trait being that they may justify the abuserâs actions by focusing on the perceived âgoodâ. The victim may be clearly abused, but theyâll overlook it because the abuser apologized and behaved for a time, or something akin to that. Gaslighting is another method of control (convincing the victim that what they perceive isnât true - insidious and very effective). I was interested to learn that the brain basically never has perfect recall - events and details are generally muddled, viewed through the lens of stressors and other environmental effects that happened before, during, or since. Gaslighting is one method of, say, manipulating recall and perception.
Megan is not abused, far as we know. I will say that right away. She is, however, being controlled and directed. Darrow is no saint. Of course heâs going to find the right thread to pull on to get her to help work on the biochip. In this case, he likely played on her stress and fear regarding Patient X and the augmentation debate to convince her that augmentations, practically her lifeâs work, needed to be âregulated for the good of everyoneâ.
Notice the verbiage: âregulatedâ. Darrow is an eloquent man and no doubt used that when he went after her. By choosing words with inherently neutral or positive connotations, itâs much easier to justify going along with it (also a well-documented phenomenon). Now, Darrow wanted to cause genocide to make his point, but he knew the Illuminati wanted to âregulateâ augs, so of course thatâs what he would use.
All of this leaves Megan vulnerable and uncertain. Itâs almost gaslighting in a lightweight sort of way. She has to bury herself in her work with a viper whispering in her ear.
Now, Namir was chosen to watch over her. He guards her and, based on her first-name-basic, probably interacts with her regularly. This is where things get weird.
Megan may recognize him from the attack. Maybe. If she has perfect recall, and getting knocked unconscious didnât cause memory loss (a common side effect of head impact trauma), she knows heâs the one who tried to kill Adam and, as far as she knows, didnât succeed. But if she did suffer realistic effects (memory loss and imperfect recall - bear in mind she only saw Namir for a very short time, and mostly from behind, and the atmosphere was hot, hazy, and smoky), then itâs very possible her captor is someone she doesnât clearly recognize.
In a stressful environment, even knowing heâs her captor, she might come to associate him with positive things - not really Stockholm Syndrome, per se, but perhaps something akin to it. Sheâs very aware of her situation, but to get away from her fear, she has to close off and compartmentalize. Namir might be one of her only points of contact to the outside. Maybe most of what goes on beyond the labs is filtered through him.
If anyoneâs seen Deep Space Nine, think along the lines of Gul Dukat, who knew how to manipulate others and appear to be âthe good guyâ (i.e. Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night). Namir might talk with her, tell her about his life and the outside world. He might even come off disarming to her. And as a woman alone in a frightening place, cut off from the rest of the world, associating him with good things isnât so bad, right? He attacked Sarif Industries, but... he was only following orders, only doing a job. The scientists who died probably werenât killed by him. They were probably just casualties he couldnât control. And sheâs here for her own safety, so bad people canât get to her, and heâll keep that from happening, wonât he? Heâs certainly strong enough to protect her, and heâs made it clear that he will protect her. Letâs not discount the potentially powerful effects of biology - primal, raw, unbidden - on behavior, especially under stress and combined with any sort of perceived intimacy.
He also has a family, but... what he doesnât know wonât hurt him. She never has to breathe a word of this to anyone.
Namir never has to respond in kind to any of her advances or affection. Her advances might not even be conscious, just the result of her spending a moment here and there fantasizing. It happens. Itâs natural, though it might not be ideal. Associating âJaronâ with good things (news of the outside world, a few minutes of talking, protection, etc.) tends to brush all the bad things aside.
Was he actually the one there at SI? Sheâs not sure anymore. She thinks he is, but.... sheâs not sure. She canât remember hearing his voice, and everything that happened is such a muddied blur...
I donât think Namir would respond in kind if she approached him, but I donât think he would be above using those feelings, however unconscious, to everyoneâs advantage. If she can be controlled by him feigning a positive response, if she can be kept working on the project by pretending to be her friend, then by all means, Megan, âitâs just Jaronâ.

âIâm intrigued by you, Anna. Your tenacity. Itâs quite impressive for someone with such personal failings to overcome.â He cocked his head. âWhen was the last time you had a dose? It must be difficult going cold all over again.â âBite me,â she snarled.

Prompt: rising from the dead
He was surprised that Sarif had such an ordinary bodyguard. For a man so in love with augmentations and defence contracts, Sarif had chosen some straggler from the police. SWAT, yes, but no mercenary or soldier. The files on the averted plant raids and security training had given him pause, certainly, but he was prepared.
Then he met Adam Jensen in person and he was... underwhelming. Well-trained, but not well-trained enough. There was a moment of worry, but he overpowered him easily. Watched him gutted and choking on blood, pitiful, and gave him a quick death, in the end. A problem solved.
Perhaps it was Reed's screams that distracted him from checking for a pulse. Or the fact he was focused on extraction. He should have been more professional.
He found her crying, weeks later, in the room they'd given to her. The best room, the best food... She was still crying. He understood, grief was a powerful thing, but it was... wearing. And one day she'd said it. "You don't know what you destroyed! Not just Adam, he was... he was Patient X." And he'd cursed. A waste. At least she'd harvested enough samples for her research to be replicated.
That file was closed, now. No-one was about to find Sarif's scientists.
They find the first Belltower man in a dim corner of one of their facilities. Heâs unconscious. Stunned with his own weapon, as if taken by surprise. The guard surfaces babbling about an augmented mercenary, one of the most advanced he's ever seen, who lunged out of the shadows and had a hand round his throat without even showing up on the radar. Like a bat out of Hell. Not one of you guys. Looked like... black steel, I don't even know...
They run a thorough search of the area, of every camera and sensor system, and find nothing. Belltower men joke about one of their own sleeping on the job, or about a heart condition, but they're nervous and sweating.Â
And then they run through the computer systems. All dragged for information. Terabytes of data sent out of a backdoor, and no-one noticed. Cowardly, but thorough.
He knows.
Black steel indeed. The man that emerges from the shadows is a different one. Perhaps better. He's been rebuilt almost as extensively as Jaron himself. Inhuman, some would call it. Probably a blessing from Sarif. The boy's shiny enough. But he's still smaller, not as well-trained. Weak. It's easy enough to send Barrett to deal with him.
When he receives the news of Barrett's death, he pauses. He tells himself Barrett had been tiring for some time, that there had to be a reason. A mis-manouevre, Barrett overestimating his own abilities. Jensen is just an inconvenience, a fly in the ointment. And a simple fly is nothing to fear.
Months later, when he looks up, past the knee on his windpipe and the gun at his head, he realises that none of his people have been alerted. Everyone assumed he would win, easily. He looks into augmented, impassive eyeshields, and knows he made a mistake.
He should have checked for a pulse.

Walton Simons > Jaron Namir
The latter may be cooler, more detailed, and have more back story, but Simons was just infinitely more menacing than Namir and had more than two minutes worth of physical exposure to give understanding of how much of a villain weâre dealing with. Furthermore, Walton was the right hand man of Bob Page, the main antagonist, and was practically on par with Bob given just how much of a hand he had in directly managing MJ12 operations. Before the MJ12 takeover, Namir is little more than a grunt in Illuminati operations, and I wouldnât be surprised if he had been implanted with some early form of a killswitch to keep him in line.
Just saying.
