Not to be dramatic,
But I would die for Jacques Eliacin François Marie Paganel, Secretary of the geographical Society of Paris.

В общем, эстетика на моего самого любимого француза: Жака Паганеля. Мало кто с ним знаком, потому вот ключевые черты: география (и все, что с ней связано), круглые очки, теплые тона, а дальше уже как хотите. Спасибо еще раз

As I've said before, Captain Nemo reminds me of my husband, but FINALLY I think I've found the Jules Verne character I personally relate to.

Jacques Eliacin François Marie Paganel, secretary of the Geographical Society of Paris from "In Search of the Castaways."
Seldom do I come across a character who I find so relatable on a personal level. Throughout the entire story I kept thinking, "I am Paganel; Paganel is me. We are the same person." (Except of course I am a young-ish American lady and he's a middle-ish aged Frenchman. But c'est comme ça!)
Paganel has all the textbook symptoms of ADHD down to a t, but his eccentricities prove to be some of his greatest assets and he ends up becoming indispensable to his friends. This geeky weirdo of a man carried the expedition, not to mention the narrative, and the characters wouldn't have made it far without him. I loved to see this (accidental) representation in this classic novel well before psychology was even a well-established science!

People have always been the same and it's wonderful to be able to relate to them through the generations
