JAPAN TRIP - DAYS 30-34 (end of the trip)
Last Friday marked the end of my trip to Japan. It was a beautiful adventure, and Japan has found a special place in my heart. I'll miss the stunning weather, breathtaking sights, enchanting shrines, and the kind, fascinating people I had the pleasure of meeting. Now, it's time to return to ordinary life, cherishing the memories of this unforgettable journey ❤️

Arrived in Haneda airport. The lines at immigration are long, but we did our forms online well ahead of time. You get a QR code for immigration and then customs, which really speeds up the process.
Haneda airport has an area of shops and restaurants that are accessible before security. There are shops for omiyagi, which are souvenirs you bring back to share with friends and family. A lot of times they’re special gift snacks. We stopped to have a pick me up of soft serve ice cream made with Hokkaido milk. Even from a fast food cafe in an airport, the taste was delightful! You could really taste the rich milk they used and it’s not super sweet.
We needed to pick up our JR Railcard and other train tickets and cards, but definitely do not do that at the airport. The line was so long, we would have spent additional hours at the airport. Instead, we went to the JR desk at Shinagawa train station and that was much shorter. Took us not even 20 minutes, including standing in line, and they were amazingly helpful. We’ve got all our tickets printed for our entire trip!
Thank goodness my partner bought and reserved our seats ahead of time. With the country opening up to tourists again, the train offices are so slammed. The best option is to reserve your tickets online, otherwise you risk a situation where you might not be able to book your tickets due to restrictions at the ticket office. At Shinagawa station, there was a sign saying that due to the sheer volume of people reserving tickets, they were unable to book more than one trip up to one day ahead of your travel date. Definitely get your travel passes and tickets online.

The Japan stationery haul, Part 1: The pens (and a few pencils)
One of the things I was most excited about visiting Japan was the stationery. I knew it was a country filled with great opportunities to peruse and purchase stationery-typed things, and indeed it did not disappoint. I purchased from stationery shops, art shops, stationery departments in book stores and department stores, and in a couple instances from convenience stores. (Would you buy stationery…

I've been travelling in Japan for the past couple of days and will probably post photo dumps when I remember and when I have wifi.
Here's some pics from Hachioji~ 🌸 Not many cherry blossoms were left, but this tree still had.
Many thanks to my friend for letting me crash at their place for a night!!

JAPAN TRIP - DAY 3
Today marks the third day of my Japan trip, and I'm going to spend it at the hospital. I woke up around 1pm, feeling under the weather after a restless night. However, I can sense a slight improvement today, and I'm hopeful that tomorrow I'll be discharged from the ward. The hospital staff has been incredibly kind and accommodating, particularly my attending physician. We engage in interesting conversations about the healthcare system in Europe, given my background as a doctor. It's amusing how he chuckles every time I instinctively say arigato to him or any other staff member. Their friendly demeanor makes this experience a bit more bearable 😅
The dinner was an absolute delight, both visually and in taste. And let's not forget the breathtaking view of the city landscape! Also, here comes the messy selfie!
