Key findings on Nawaf Salam’s bias against Israel:
During his time as Lebanon’s representative to the UN, Salam voted to condemn Israel 210 times.
These resolutions contained one-sided denunciations of Israel, and gave a free pass to Hamas. For example, in December 2008, Salam voted for a resolution that accused Israel of “acts of terror, provocation, incitement and destruction” against Palestinians, yet made no mention of Hamas or Islamic Jihad.
Another resolution that Nawaf supported, in 2017, accused Israel of “systematic violation of the human rights of the Palestinian people,” and “causing death and injury to Palestinian civilians, including children, women and non-violent, peaceful demonstrators.”
In his speeches to the UN, Salam also made many inflammatory statements that demonstrate extreme bias against Israel. In January 2008, Salam accused “terrorist Jewish organizations” of committing “massacres.” He also said that Gaza was an “open air prison.” CLICK FOR VIDEO
In a November 2008 UN speech, Salam said the “supreme Zionist leadership” pursued a plan of “ethnic cleansing” through “terrorism and organized massacres.”
In November 2009, Salam told the UN General Assembly that “for too long [Israel’s] war criminals have benefited from impunity”; and Israel was guilty of “flagrant disrespect for international law.” CLICK FOR VIDEO
In 2011, he accused Israel of “illegitimate actions.”
On June 13, 2014, Salam accused Israel of “crimes against humanity” and “war crimes.” CLICK FOR VIDEO
On June 18, 2014, Salam opposed the candidacy of Israel to the vice-presidency of the General Assembly’s Fourth Committee, on the grounds that it is “the most condemned country” at the General Assembly and that it continues to “violate the rules of the international community.” Salam said that Israel was not eligible for election “to any office” at the UN.
On numerous occasions, including November 2016, Salam has accused Israel of “apartheid.” CLICK FOR VIDEO
Salam has also repeatedly attacked Israel on social media. In 2015, on Twitter he called Israel a “Triumph of blatant racist & colonialist choices.”
In 2016, in reference to the 2006 war launched by Hezbollah, Salam accused Israel of using “the most vicious & disgusting weapons of all times.” He never once condemned Hezbollah for launching the war, or for attacking Israeli civilians with thousands of rockets. On the contrary, Salam inverted the cause of the war, writing falsely that it was Israel that “launched a 33 day war against my country…”

hama was reborn from the ashes
baas party and 13 years of massacre
the baath party was founded in 1947 in sam, the city of syria. in 1950, it merged with the arab socialist party in syria and continued its political existence as the "arab socialist ba'ath party".
— the arab socialist baath party seized power in the country as a result of a coup in 1963.
then, hafiz asad, the father of bessar asad, who has been operating in the party since the geng yagils, came to power with an intra-party coup in 1970 and became the state of the country in 1971. thus, hafiz assad became the oppressive period in the country after he came to power. so much so that the hama massacre revealed the whole world that the arab socialist baath party was a bloody government.
on february 2, 1982, the special forces under the command of hafiz assad's brother, rifat assad, surrounded the city to suppress the uprising launched by the muslim brotherhood in the hama province in the central part of the country against the regime.
— the bloody assad regime first bombered with his troops from the air, then massacred tens of thousands of people in 27 days with artillery fire and mass executions in hama.
man with glass character
according to the report organized by the snhr, that is, the syrian human rights net, at least 30 thousand civilians were killed in the massacre in the city center of hama on february 2-28, 1982, and there was no news of at least 17 thousand civilians who were detained.
— tedmur in hummus (palmyra)
the people who were thought to have been taken to the prison and those who were not heard from think that their relatives were slaughtered.
again, according to snhr's report, on the one hand, districts such as al-asida, es sehhane, al-kilayniyye, ez zenbak, al-hayriya and al-basuriyye were heavily targeted in attacks and bombings carried out by the regime forces from the air and land, while about a third of the city center was destroyed.
in the # massacre, 88 mosques, 3 churches and high historical monuments were destroyed.
— on march 12, the swiss federal prosecutor's office announced that a criminal complaint had been filed with the federal criminal court for war crimes and crimes against humanity and that he would be tried for "war crimes and crimes against humanity".
— more than 6.7 million people were displaced within the country. about 217 times, the regime carried out chemical weapons attacks on the people and an estimated 14 thousand 449 people were tortured to death.
with whom is israel in aleppo?
zalim asad was born in syria in 1965. he graduated from the faculty of medicine of sam university in 1988 and then served as a doctor in the syrian army.
while the killer was studying specialized in ophthalmology in london, the capital of england, in 1992, he returned to syria when his brother basil al-asad died in a traffic accident in 1994. the cruel five-assad, as soon as he returned, began to study at the military academy and prepared for the government of the country until the death of his father.
on june 10, 2000, the bill was adopted to reach the age of 40 in order to become president in the country. in this way, beşshar al-assad came to power with 97 percent of the vote in the presidential referendum.
— when assad came to power, the opening period in the fields of democratization, human rights and freedom of expression, which began in syria, called the "spring of damascus", ended in february 2001.
the future in aleppo is pregnant with history
when "damascus spring" came to an end, syria moved away from political reforms by citing foreign policy issues. many opponents who demanded democracy and reform in syria signed the "damascus declaration" in october 2005.
— then five assad, "damascus
he imprisoned some of these opponents who signed the declaration. some had to leave the country.
the demonstrations that started in dera after the "arab spring" wave in the middle east spread to syria spread throughout the country as of march 16, 2011.
— the syrian regime described the people who demanded a freer and more democratic syria as "terrorists aimed at disrupting the peace and stability of the country". they began to suppress these demands by using extreme violence. as a result, the civil war broke out. since 2011, hundreds of thousands of syrians have lost their lives in the civil war that broke out, millions of people have been displaced or taken refuge in neighboring countries.

A Fata Morgana is a mirage image imposed by the bending of light waves in the atmosphere that pass through different density volumes. A Fata Morgana is specifically caused by temperature inversion, making it a “superior mirage.” Temperature inversion is the instance of the air below the imposed image’s line of sight being colder than the air above, thus causing light rays to bend down and expose the image above the actual object. These types of mirages can cause various visual phenomenon’s, including the perception of distance, direction, and stretch to be perceived as different to the human eye. Fata Morgana mirages cause most images to be nearly unrecognizable from their original form (Skybrary, n.d.). Some examples of widely observed mirage images include towers, castles, columns, aqueducts, palaces, skyscrapers, and apartments. While the definition of a Fata Morgana has been skewed over the course of history, it was first observed in 16th century Italian reports (Young & Frappa, 2017). Before the scientific revolution, these mirages were widely accepted as magical forces of nature. Named after the sorceress Morgan le Fay, it was believed many sailors were taunted by her mirages, luring them into sea palaces just under the surface of the water. The popular legend of the Flying Dutchman was derived from sightings attributed to Fata Morgana mirage’s dating back to 1821 (Simon, 2015).
Tumblr media
Source: Young & Frappa, 2017
Lake Geneva, located between the French and Switzerland border, has been observed to reflect many Fata Morgana mirages over the years. Young & Frappa’s 2017 research concluded that valley inversions were mainly responsible for the distortions observed along the lake’s horizon. I found their research particularly interesting as it seemed to have taken the cultural and historical roots of this environmental phenomenon and tried to implement new technology to develop further understanding.
The interpretation of Fata Morgana mirages and other forms of mirages can allow for interesting discussions to be sparked surrounding mystery, technology and storytelling. In areas such as Lake Geneva which are susceptible to phenomena such as this, I find it important to communicate the value of mystery and science to your audience. Modern environmental interpretation requires adaptation to the demands of the future, as mentioned by Beck and Cable (2018) in chapter 21. Shifting focus to how technology can monitor mirages allows for audiences to relate a historical phenomenon to the science they know today. Storytelling through cultural mysteries from around the world allow for a layer of mysticism that many other factors of the environment cannot have! While the Flying Dutchman is one example, think of the oasis mirage’s we see in cinema, or sirens that seduce sailors to jump ship! As nature interpretation adapts to the future, it is important to continuously keep audiences engaged. Connections to pop culture or urban legends is an amazing way to keep young people passionate about the environment they have entered.

JEWISH TERRORISM & GENOCIDE OF PALESTINIANS IN OCCUPIED HOLY LAND (PALESTINE) SINCE 1948, AND CONBTINUING TILL TODAY BY KILLING OF HELPLESS & INNOCENT CHILDREN, WOMEN & OLD PEOPLE UNDER THE EYES OF IMPOTENT, SO-CALLED WORLD LEADERS, GOD FORBID, AMEN.
January 10, 2018,  The Israeli army killed 15 Palestinian children in the besieged Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, in the year 2017, Defence for Children International- Palestine revealed yesterday. The human rights organisation [sic] said in a report that 12 children were shot dead, four of them during protests and three in ambushes setup by the army, while five children were killed during alleged attempts to carry out stabbing attacks. The report pointed out that a child was killed by artillery shelling in the Gaza Strip, and another by the explosion of a suspicious body while herding sheep near the city of Tubas in the northern West Bank while another died from injuries sustained in 2014. The organisation [sic] stressed that the Israeli army takes advantage of the lack of accountability to kill more children.
January 11, 2018,A three-year-old Palestinian was shot in the head during an Israeli “military training” session in the northern occupied West Bank city of Tubas. According to a statement by the Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Health, the child was hit in the head with live bullets. He was taken to Rafidia Surgical hospital in Nablus. She pointed out that the child’s relatives told “medical staff that he was shot during IDF training in the area.” “The health situation of the injured child is stable,” the ministry said. The Israeli military frequently conducts training in Palestinian communities in Tubas, the Jordan Valley of the occupied West Bank, Hebron, and several other areas. Palestinians are often forced to abandon their homes to make way for the training sessions.
February 1, 2018, Exploding Phones and Poison Toothpaste: Israel Linked to Over 2,700 Assassinations
“Israel’s assassination techniques involve the use of the following:
‘Poisoned toothpaste that takes a month to end its target’s life. Armed drones. Exploding cell phones. Spare tires with remote-control bombs. Assassinating enemy scientists and discovering the secret lovers of Islamic holy men.’
“[Rise and Kill First by Ronan Bergman, the intelligence correspondent for Yediot Aharanot newspaper] alleges that Israel was behind the April 9, 2018,assassinations of around half a dozen Iranian nuclear scientists, killings apparently more preferable to Israel than a direct strike on Iran. The book also appears to claim that Israel used radiation poisoning to kill longtime Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. According to Bergman, Israeli military censorship prevented him from revealing what, if anything, he knows about the specific incident.…”
February 8, 2018, In UK Parliament Debate, Israel is Accused of Committing 'Torture' and 'War Crimes'
Middle East Monitor
Israel's abuse and mistreatment of Palestinian children in military detention was under the spotlight in Westminster yesterday [Feb. 7], as MPs urged it to end the "torture" of minors. Israeli authorities were also charged with war crimes, over the imprisonment of both children and adults from the occupied Palestinian territory inside Israel's pre-1967 lines, a violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. The Westminster Hall debate on "Military detention of Palestinian children by Israeli authorities" was initiated by Labour MP Sarah Champion, and attracted cross-party participation.

April 6, 2018, Gaza Massacre, Israeli Leaders Should Be Prosecuted for War Crimes
by Marjorie Cohn, Truthout
On March 30, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers shot 773 unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza, killing 17 and wounding 1,400. Twenty remain in critical condition. The protesters were marching to demand the internationally mandated right of return of refugees to their cities and villages in what now constitutes Israel. The Israeli leaders who ordered the massacre were in clear violation of international law. They should be prosecuted for war crimes. The use of deadly force against the peaceful protesters was premeditated. The IDF deployed 100 snipers to the border fence between Gaza and Israel, where 30,000 to 40,000 Palestinians had gathered for the Great March of Return.
April 6, 2018, Israel Has Faced Little Criticism Over Palestinian Deaths
by Patrick Cockburn, The Independent (Britain)
... A video from the first day of the march shows a protester being shot in the back by an Israeli sniper as he walks away from the fence separating Gaza from Israel. In other footage, Palestinians are killed or wounded as they pray, walk empty-handed towards the border fence, or simply hold up a Palestinian flag. All who get within 300 yards are labelled "instigators" by the Israeli army, whose soldiers have orders to shoot them ... The sheer scale of the casualties on the first day of the protest a week ago is striking, with as many as 16 killed and 1,415 injured, of whom 758 were hit by live fire according to Gaza health officials ... So far, Israel has faced little criticism from an international media uninterested in the Gaza story, or else is happy to go along with Israel's interpretation of events.
