leafpin headcanons, go.

ME WHEN... WHEN ANYBODY TELLS ME TO TALK ABOUT LEAFPIN !!!111!!!!!111111

jus a reminder that how i hc leafy and pin strays faaar from canon (i feel like a lot of ppl that come to this blog are already aware of that but i do be stressing this b/c i don't want to blindside people 💔)

but CIRCLING back to the actual question here we go, the sheer LIST of headcanons that exist in my mind forever:

i mentioned it like numerous times but the height difference,,, leafy is tall while pin is short

related 2 above headcanon, but this means leafy is much faster than pin (because longer legs means longer strides). leafy often lets pin piggyback on her so they can get to places faster. a lot of other objects tend to also be taller than pin so leafy will like give her a bit of a boost there too.

leafy has a long mental list of silly pet names to call pin. not all of them make a lick of sense, but as stupid as these names get, pin just really enjoys them.

pin doesn't really use pet names for leafy other than leafster.

leafy goes through phases of interests on really random things. i had a silly oneshot planned where she gets super into horses and how silly they are as animals. typically, pin does her best to provide her girlfriend a lot of enrichment in these times even if that means sitting and listening to leafy's hourlong lecture about horse coat colors.

pin definitely has a hard time expressing or communicating her emotions because she is constantly set on "resting bitch face" mode. leafy always helps her put a name to what she's feeling.

they're big cuddlers. they always wake up in each other's arms (real)

speaking of sleeping, leafy takes all the blankets for herself because she gets cold easier. pin gets hot too easy so shes ok with it

leafy is literally the only one pin listens to wholeheartedly. to others, pin often just dismisses them or zones out entirely.

pin lets leafy win at tic-tac-toe as well as other games

in terms of their temperaments, leafy is much slower to anger compared to pin. this allows leafy to pacify pin whenever its needed

leafy is the only one able to read pin's absolutely HORRID handwriting

leafy is good at artsy stuff. pin isn't except for cartography stuff.

winter is a tough time for them. it's pin's favorite season because she can handle the cold easily, but its dampened by the fact that leafy goes through hibernation. it always turns out ok and she does it because there's not enough sun for her to be awake, but it REALLY stresses pin out. she's extra overprotective over her plant gf during this time.

pin comforts leafy when she's upset. she does it with lots of snuggles, compliments, and little treats to snack on. when leafy feels better, pin proceeds to beat up whoever made her sad in the first place.

pin has a bad habit of forgetting her own well-being. she WILL give up life and limb if it means leafy will be safe in the end. this affects all aspects of her life and leafy often has to sit her down so she can rest. this is especially very important whenever pin is injured or sick b/c she will absolutely not give herself enough time to heal.

leafy doesn't feel safe sleeping alone, she has to be next to pin or else she'll have some major sleeping troubles.

they just LOVE to gossip with each other. think the plastics in Mean Girls with their burn book. yeah, that, but only between them.

im a little shy but i wanted to show some of mine leafpin headcanons

pin's favorite flowers are sunflowers so when leafy wants to give pin a gift she usually leaves a sunflower as a decoration

pin is super protective with leafy so normally she will get pretty mad if someone offends leafy

leafy probably would use emoticons like "^_^" but pin rarely use emoticons so their dialog would be like:

"hey leafy"

"hiii^_^"

"are you okay?"

"yeah im good :]"

Leafy hates being alone and feeling like she's alone (especially after you-know-what happened) so she often holds Pin's hand to remind herself that she is NOT alone, she has an amazing gf that wouldn't leave her side for the world. And Pin loves kissing the back of Leafy's hand whenever she does that, just to see the lemon leaf get all flustered

HELLLO IM @OHMYSHEETMETAL ive been in the peafy [pawsome name for leafpin my partner made] fandom ever since the start of 2020. i remember searching up fanart just to get the same art over and over again of the same artists because the crumbs were SO TINY they wer goddamn microscopic. but this year key [pawsome tumblr user @kaykeykiykoykuy] straight up REVIVED the peafy fandom and i feel like a 98 year old grampa proud of their descendants. its amazing seeing the pairing is now more popular :] love u all leafpiners

personally, i always thought of leafy being in thunderclan mostly because both leafy and thunderclan really have those "main character" vibes. also thunderclan has trees with leaves while shadowclan stuck with crummy pines (/j),

though i will drop that in the "battle for warriors" series, its not like there's any rhyme or reason where an object might drop. bottle in riverclan and snowball in windclan were done because i thought it would be funny 💔💔💔

a thought i would like to share with you: Snowball sitting in his nest and Mudclaw approaches to ask him to join him on a patrol. Snowball says he can't. Mudclaw, confused, asks him why and all Snowball says is, "Can't move"

Mudclaw looks, and there are the kittens, sleeping oh so soundly on Snowball's lap to where if he moved he would disturb the kittens.

SO assuming that i'm not horrifically wrong about which fic it is, yes. YES. i put something in my bookmark for it along the lines of "cannibalism as an expression of love !!!" and I'm like... WOW! i love that kind of trope! i love how twisted it is like pop off!! words do very little in conveying my excitement over it because i'd be either typing in all caps OR i can't accurately explain how *chef's kiss* this work was.

i really am a sucker for this concept and this one shot was a really good little meal towards it. like there's so much meaning that can be tied to it AND it's all done with minimal dialogue which is a pretty damn feat itself!! UGHH, the concept of loving someone so much that you want to make some shred of them a part of your own being; so primal, so unexplainable, it's a single faucet of the dark path desire and love can lead down right here, RIGHT IN THIS FIC!! this is DOOMED YURI 100 PERCENT.

i read this in horrified shock. y'know that feeling where someone says something really unfunny but the uncomfortable silence sort of makes you laugh a little albeit very nervously and weakly? me with this work. it's a trainwreck in terms of the events that happened and yet i can't look away. I'm compelled to keep watching, keep reading as a silly girl literally eats her lover and then proceeds to kill herself afterward while also ensuring that they died right in the same spot?? if your mate doesn't do this, dump 'em /joking.

i was shocked by the end of it to the point of comedy. i really thought "damn, double homicide" before remembering "wait a minute, this is a cannibalism work stop laughing"

that was a lot of thoughts, i'm sorry. I LOVE THIS WORK! YOU DID GREAT! AADOL is the author's first work so please be kind about it too! hope you keep writing! it's a good hobby to have overall if you're looking to have something to fill your time with. good luck and hope you'll post more!

JANKIEY AO3 REWIND 2024 EDITION!!!

huh? what? i'm STILL doing the same shit?

2025 is here? what the fuck?? and i'm still in this fandom writing the same pairing? erm... what the scallop!

jokes aside, i'm glad i'm still here, still chugging even if its dumb leafpin stuff. i mean, writing is a good hobby to have or something.

i feel like this is the year of really long works for me, especially for the after-dark pseudo, ohowlom, so its been less about writing a bunch of different works and more about a few different works.

AND i managed to find the first 2023 rewind (again, i am in awe that it's another... YEAR). hopefully this means more to go over yipepepepe!!!

once again, join me as we go over my thoughts on my own works that no one asked for.

putting this under a cut because it's getting a bit long:

maybe you can wish upon a star (MYCWUAS) has spiritually turned into something much worse, enter santa salvacion. hasn't progressed very much due to the fact that i need to be in a specific type of mood to make each chapter (waiting for that hyperfixation to hit here's hoping) but it's gotten good reception! and by good reception, it's downright frightening. go team! :D

the special edition, snows of change, within the battle for warriors au was completed like... january 2024. it's been a while and throughout the year, i've been itching to start work on the official second book so to speak. some plot ideas are floating around, but as of now, it's probably safe to say that this series is in the backburner for now (but ARGHGH CLEARPAW AND SNOWSHADE MY BELOVEDS... I MUST TELL YOUR TALES...)

fluffiest fic of the year for me? hm... like i said, i feel like i haven't written many one-shots this time around. leafpin specific, i would have to go with for all the christmas in the world and/or the scholastic book fair in middle school. otherwise, i thought but with luck (coiny/firey work) had a super cute premise.

the parade of terror is coming is the new psychological drama/horror leafpin longfic that i'm trying to work through! been also putting a lot of work in the back scenes for this one and hope people will enjoy its insanity MWAHAHAH.

let's not forget other minor chaptered fics (that you totally shouldn't be reminded of that i haven't updated them in FOREVER) such as when the birds chase away the snow and the high wills in terms of the leafpin works! i think they're also pretty cute but argh... maybe i got too ahead of myself and jumped to the next idea.

introducing a silly new category for the silly new series, cosmic dreaming!

numerology is the foundational work for this despite being basic in nature. also HOLY COW, IT WAS MADE IN 2023?? all this time i thought it was this year bro...

however, i can confirm that self-worth is actually this year!! following ruby's interactions with the new god of Earth, maybe there's more to the gods than meets the eye as well as the meaning of life. (really this is an exploration into the whole cosmic horror type of writing). def planning more chapters with this and if not, an entirely new work. love the worldbuilding im doing in the background for this and no i will not stop.

moving on, word count! I think it's an interesting measure to track (mainly to see how deep my insanity goes). This is the one thing last year's rewind didn't go over... I think I just forgot so I'll just compare now.

Now, I'm not sure how Ao3's word count in the statistics page works (not sure if it counts builds from last year's word count into the new year or it solely. Leaning towards the former because there is no way I wrote as much as ao3 claims I have).

For reference, 2023's word count was 140,883 words! (jankiey2 started in 2022 and for that year, it said I only wrote 140,883 words).

For 2024? Nearly DOUBLE!!! 2024's word count was/is 303,706 words! (give or take in the off chance i somehow upload something before this year ends officially).

Despite being started in 2023, I gotta say the heaviest hitters were ohowlom's hammer and metal along with santa salvacion. (maybe what's new but sorry yall been slipping on getting that finished i have attachment issues kldnvakldnva).

ok but tell me why there's a fat chance that like 90% of those words... is all leafpin i s2g. /j i be like "im so normal" and then i do this shit.

last year's rewind has a little list of stuff i hoped to get to in the new year and while i don't have much ideas now (plus looking back, i realized i didn't do SHIT), let's do it anyways!

INTO THE 2025:

again, nothing's definite because ideas come and go like the summer birds, but hopefully they persist long enough in my mind to get done.

jankiey-specific works:

make a firey and firey jr work. PLEEEASE i love their dynamic and i have such cool ideas in my head... please i am suffering.

continue work on self-worth and the overall cosmic dreaming series/worldbuilding.

finish santa salvacion or at least... write more than two chapters for it.

FINALLY work on that sequel in the battle for warriors series.

actually complete both what's new and hammer and metal. yes its gonna hurt me so bad staring at the screen and being like... "tHATS ALL??" but they have to be completed some day.

continue working on the parade of terror is coming. made like... a graph for it. future me will be pissed that i forget to update this.

JANKIEY AO3 REWIND 2023!!!

it's been an unintentionally productive year in terms of uploading works. bubblin with ideas just hits different lol. here are my thoughts on my own works that no one asked for.

maybe you can wish upon a star earning the number 1 spot in my heart for being the most insane, existential crisis thing I've ever written. it has also helped me think "mmm, maybe i can write horror!" much to everyone's dismay.

ships lost at sea still counts, right? (it was marked complete this feburary). SLAS and snows of change hold another special place in my heart for being able to successfully combine two contrasting pieces of media in a (hopefully) believable way.

broody, into the costco, and i'll catch you with my love ball ! feel the most tied for the fluffiest fic of the year for me personally.

RIP getting ready for the day you're born again, I'm pretty sure canon just demolished the chances of Fourteen/Fifteen happening, but you know what? I'm insane and I'll probably write them again eventually.

INTO THE 2024:

nothing's definite because ideas come and go like the summer birds. but think of these as my wishlist of fics that I'd like to release sometime during the next year (assuming I'm still in this fandom lol).

a sequel work to broody, the anticipated leafpin angst-chaptered work because a.) I'm dramatic. b.) the light shines brighter in the darkness anyways.

the completion of santa salvacion, the sequel work to maybe you can wish upon a star. i hope it is just as existentially depressing as the first one and REALLY challenges you to point out who is actually the good guy of this story?

the official sequel in the BATTLE FOR WARRIORS crossover series! was it really the end for bottle?

a potential work that relates to numerology. ruby finds herself with the opposite of value.

and of course, literally whatever oneshot ideas occur to me throughout the year.
