“…Last year, I was about to go on a road trip with my best friends… Though, they’re more like my brothers. Anyways, we were leaving Seoul late at night, and we were hit head on by a drunk driver. The force of the crash threw my car into the river… I woke up up in hospital three weeks later with no memory of the accident itself. So… I wasn’t able to give evidence in court about it…” (At this, this hands clench together, teeth bared as he relives one of the worst memories in the world. And how the situation could have been so much different if he could have REMEMBERED) “Which meant… the bastard that hit us got away with just a suspended sentence. It didn’t matter how badly me and they guys were hurt, how much pain our families went through, we lived. So our ‘justice’ system figured that it was ok to let him go.” (For a moment it looks as though Jonghyun will lose control, his entire body tensing up before relaxing again.) “So I took justice into my own hands. I saw the guy one night in Seoul and, well…” (His lips curl into a remorseless smirk.) “I beat the ever-loving shit out of him. Kept hitting him until I couldn’t anymore. Don’t know if he lived or not.” (All this is spoken in a calm, almost serene tone, though as he continues, a slight melancholic tone can be detected.) “I kind lost my mind at the hearing and threatened him… so I knew I’d be the first suspect when they found the guy. I had to get the hell out, in case anyone tried to take revenge on my family or friends. So I broke contact with the boys, left my mom what money I could and got the hell out of there. In the middle of the night. Ha. I’m more like my old man than I’d thought, amn’t I? Anyways, that’s why I’m here. I’ve lost everything precious to me, what’s the worst than can happen now? Anyways, call me Raven from here on out.”
