Propaganda
Janet Munro (Third Man on the Mountain, The Day The Earth Caught Fire, Swiss Family Robinson)— Janet Munro is vastly overlooked when it comes to appreciating vintage movie stars. Her career may have ended early (she died young from ischemic heart disease), but her time in the spotlight was well spent. I fell in love with her breakout role playing Katie O'Gill in the Disney movie Darby O'Gill and the Little People (her singing voice is ANGELIC), but god did she have RANGE. Looking up photos of her in The Day The Earth Caught Fire had google safe search blurring a few 😳. trying to be coherent enough in my thoughts about her for proper propaganda is Difficult. she's just.... so pretty. god i love women
Suchitra Sen (Harano Sur, Chaowa Pawa)—A Bengali cinema icon. Liked crows (per Gulzar, "It was an astonishing sight. The crows used to pick at the grapes from her hand").
This is round 1 of the tournament. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. Please reblog with further support of your beloved hot sexy vintage woman.

Helen, Gilbert and Arthur in "The Tenant of Wildfell Hall" 1968 version (left) and 1996 version (right).
Both of these versions were produced and aired on BBC. These are the only TV adaptations of said title.

The Tenant of Wildfell Hall (1968)
Did you know that before the 1996 version starring Tara Fitzgerald and Toby Stephens, there was another version of the same title which was released in 1968? It stars Janet Munro as Helen, Bryan Marshall as Gilbert Markham and Corin Redgrave as Arthur Hundington?
Here are some screenshots of 1968 version as seen on "The Brontës at the BBC" documentary:
According to the documentary, this version of "The Tenant of the Wildfell Hall" is the first Brontë adaptation to be in full color. Unfortunately, this seemed to be difficult to be shown in public again as one of four of its episodes is currently missing.

Terror from the Clouds: Unveiling the Chilling Legacy of The Crawling Eye
“The Crawling Eye,” also known as “The Trollenberg Terror,” is a 1958 British science fiction horror film directed by Quentin Lawrence. This movie, adapted from a successful British TV serial of the same name, stands as a prime example of mid-20th century science fiction cinema. It combines elements of horror, mystery, and science fiction to create a tense and atmospheric narrative that…
