Felt like showing family trees of Barrel's End today. I might eventually resume posting (or post highlights?) but for now that is what my energy allows.
First up, the Youngbloods (and Musgroves...
Tallulah ended up marrying Derek Musgrove, her teenage sweetheart. Together they had four boys. The oldest, Johnny (named for Grandpa John) was born before they got married and therefore carries on the Youngblood name. He grew up to be a Fortune/ Romance sim and eventually decided to settle down with Birdie Everhart (Popularity/ Romance). They had one daughter together, Jane. He also had a short fling with both Irving sisters in his youth. A resumption of that fling with the older of the two, Cleo, recently led to her catastrophic marriage implosion. Meanwhile, Birdie still holds a torch for Laurie Foster (who is also married). Life might be easier for both if they just talked and decided on an open marriage...
Jane is expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Bellamy. Before Bellamy though, there was Elliot Irving, and she still pines for him. A Family/ Romance sim, I'm sure she's bound to surprise me.
Tumblr media
Tallulah's second eldest, Philip (Family/ Fortune), is much more tame in comparison to his older brother. He married Billie Irving (Fortune/ Knowledge) and together they had four children - three biological (Ivo, Elinor and Milo) and when Billie's youngest adopted brother Malik was taken by social services, they also adopted him. Philip is a stay-at-home dad while his wife has taken over the Agave Bar after Tallulah's passing and also runs a beauty salon.
Philip's younger brother James also lives with them. He's a Fortune/Popularity sim and a criminal mastermind and has never shown much interest in romance other than a casual dalliance with a college student named Paul.
Tumblr media
Edward (Fortune/ Family) is the youngest by far and only one of the four boys to have gone to college (my own overly complex rules stipulated that I could only add a university after I've got the first knowledge sim and that only happened at the tail end of generation two...). He met Natalia there and moved in with his oldest brother Johnny after graduation. They had two children in rapid succession (damn you, risky woohoo!) and only recently moved into their own little cottage.

…huh. I was just listening to the Courier’s Call Season 2 Q&A session, and I was having a great time laughing about how both Muldan Foxskull and The Broker have had Isekai Events (albeit in different directions), and how that added another character to the long line of folks in the Skyjacks universe who have had an Isekai Event (Jane and Pliff, Jacinto Reth, Coriander Swiftwell, the Blimpjacks cast).
And then I had an actual thought— is this a serious problem that the Skyjacks universe is experiencing?
Because other worlds are not apparently common knowledge to the people of Spheir. These kinds of crossings seem to be unusual and poorly understood to the wealthy (Youngbloods), to the influential (the Broker), to the experienced (Coriander), and even to the cosmically knowledgeable (Gable). Transworld events on the scale of the Blimpjacks crossover cannot have been happening regularly throughout history without any of these people knowing what’s going on.
But it might not have been happening throughout history, right? Because there’s an event that happened 200 years ago that threw the entire world into chaos and disrupted all the natural laws. Doesn’t it sound plausible that people could only start drifting from one universe into another when the Sovereign— the embodiment of universal order— was slain? And now, just like the seasons running out of order, people are falling out of place.

i was at the fonda (night 1) when luke referred to sierra as his wife. however, no wedding band. i'm sure someone else has mentioned that, but i haven't seen anyone else talking about it. this weekend's fashion display by luke in milan..sierra nowhere to be found. he does have a ring on his left hand, but it doesn't seem like a wedding band to me. and if it were, why didn't he have it on at the fonda? rhetorical question. anyhow, this is a very lengthy way to ask your take on it all, and do you think they are married or was it a planned "announcement"..which he didn't seem to make mention of night two?
OK, ready?
Luke saying “my wife Sierra” at his solo show at the Fonda in LA
Pardon the delay in my response, I wanted to wait a beat to see what happened after.
First, Luke was wearing his matching ring with Ash. Ash was wearing his the prior couple of days of events and with fans. Luke hasn’t ever worn a matching ring with her, which therefore there’s nothing to construe as a wedding ring for them. Ever. Luke and Ash have been wearing theirs ever since the band Twitch stream. Check out my various black onyx ring tags. Also, since Youngblood era (stars rings), Luke and Ash have worn various matching rings. They’re sneaky about it. Sometimes they both will wear it, sometimes only Luke, sometimes only Ash. Ash doesn’t wear any rings when drumming.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Released his album with Sony (known for using stunts and people’s personal lives as promotion. Example: all of the Spidermen and Mary Jane’s have “dated”). He’s also managed by Matt Emsell/Ben Evans, who have managed the boys all throughout Modest days.
No article or anything afterwards, which would typically happen with these things…. instead there’s a mystal pregnancy announcement to overshadow it. (Which don’t even get me started on THAT whole thing….)
Luke hasn’t mentioned it anywhere else or made a formal announcement. There was a big deal made about the engagement (along with the standard PR article in People, Ben earning his money) so if the marriage was real, wouldn’t there be one? Luke said some lovely words in his ig post but nothing about any marriage? HELLO?
I truly 100% don’t think they’ll ever get married. Luke and Ash remain devoted to one another. The time is ticking on the Lierra breakup. (Side note: Notice how Ash nor any of the other boys nor anyone on their team nor family members have acknowledged it either??)
Another side note that I find entertaining: I find it very reassuring that the fans actually don’t favor the duet (Older), which was supposed to be this beautiful love PR move between the stunt. Caramel is intensely much better of a song. The gays tend to do a much better job at it. (Hello Elton John and so many others.) Ash would never think of trying to overshadow Luke, like S tried to at London ONO.
Luke’s been flying solo to events ever since the guys were in Aussie. She wasn’t at Fashion Week either. (I’m including video clip proof he was solo.) [Theory: A couple fellow Lashies believe it was some sort of trade off that he had to say the marriage thing at his show so he could be sans Sierra at Fashion Week. Fashion is his. He wants to be himself whenever he can. One day Ash will be next to him though, cheering him on proudly.] Luke has been at events with bandmates, family members (his brother), or is solo ever since they were in Aussie at the end of Take Me Home Tour? Which we need to acknowledge how much Luke absolutely SLAYYYYYED at Fashion Week!! Multiple of different outfits! Get it!!
[Camera flashing warning]
Ash needed to be next to him. 🥺❤️
There’s just so many reasons it was a flat out lie.
Hey Siri, play “Lie to Me”. Actually, seriously, stream Lie To Me, it’s a banger. Writing credits of Luke and Ash, so, of course it is.

2k Celebration - OC Playlist: Can I please request a playlist for my Disney Descendants OC “Maisie Poppins” who is the daughter of Mary Poppins and Bert, please? Thank you SO much!!! 😘 Here is her profile!!
Maisie Poppins was, without a doubt, reckless.
She figured it was due to the fact that her mother was Mary Poppins. Perhaps her father, who was a man from London named Bert, who was a jack-of-all-trades, also had a part to play, teaching her to always enjoy life to the max. Either way, she was reckless and the whole damn town of Auradon knew it
When Prince Ben announced that four kids from the Isle of the Lost would be coming to Auradon Prep, Maisie saw it as an opportunity. An opportunity to: A) Make some friends other than her faithful pet parrot, Travers, and her roommate, Jane; and/or B) Play pranks on them like she loved to do on Audrey, the daughter of Sleeping Beauty. Something that never even crossed her mind was falling in love with one of them. All she wanted to do was have a little fun, and maybe make some friends in the process. And with Travers by her side, she was confident that nothing could go wrong. That was, however, until Maisie met the one and the only Evie Grimhilde, the daughter of the Evil Queen, and, well, fell for her. Both emotionally and quite literally.

Can't remember if it was last year or the year before I did this or both. But yesterday on my way to work I saw that Apple has already shared their Replay 2024 list. So I'm going to post it here to see if it has changed any by December. As once again I'm curious. I also noticed through this that some of the songs listed on here I have only listened to once so I have no clue how they generate these lists. I love the idea of Clockwork bullying Flash because the guy keeps messing with the timeline, and then Clockwork has to unfuck everything he did. Also Damien and Youngblood having each other as a nemesis is gold.
What about Technus and Tim? Like, would Tim be so offended by the fact that this ghost claims he is the master of all tech and can hack anything? And whenever he shows up, they compete over if Technus actually can hack Tim's stuff. And for Technus it's a friendly rivalry and he's having fun. Other ghosts make friends by brawling, which is so not Technus' preference. He much prefers battles of wit and tech! And now he has a(nother) friend to compete with! And Tim is just in the background, going feral because for him this is Serious Business and how is this guy so good? He has to upgrade all of his stuff after Technus appears.
Or for some reason its Ghost Writer that gets sent, because for some reason everyone else is busy. And he makes a literature reference/joke, and Red Hood is the only one in the entire room to get it and laugh. GW is like: finally! Someone here with good taste!
They start talking about the classics, and GW eventually invites Hood to the Ghostly Book Club. Hood qualifies since he died and might possibly be a revenant. He is thrilled when he finds out the next book is one that Jane Austen wrote after her death.
Batman is not so thrilled, because any time Ghost Writer is the one to show up, Batman has a heck of a time corralling them and getting them to understand that this is Not the Time for books.
And Hood is just like, "Then give me something to shoot. If it isn't shooting time, it's book time. How difficult is that to understand??"
And Batman is just Done.
And Danielle! Dani! The League would be super curious as to why she looks so much like Danny, but she offers no explanation. Or they ask and she very badly changes the subject, but the subject is so wild or concerning that the distraction works. No one is sure if the things she says are true (they are, somehow).
JL: So, what is your relationship with Danny and why do you look like him?
Dani: Hey, did you ever hear about the time I fist fought a shark while in space? Yeah, that was the day I learned space sharks were real. Wanna see the bite scar I have??
JL: ...what?
I also think that Dani is super friendly with everyone there, with two exceptions. Batman, because she has a mental Rich Billionaire Who Might be an Asshole radar and he sets it off. Like, Batman says maybe one word to her and Dani is like, oh no, another one. Must sass him and annoy him. Must come up with a demeaning cereal-themed nickname.
And Superman, because she somehow found out that he didn't react well to Kon being a clone and Dani, understandably, takes that Personally.
DP X DC PROMPT: DISRUPTIVE SUMMONINGS AU
Some time after Danny joins the Justice League, his Rogues find out and whine at him about how he's "hoarding all the good fights and we're all so boooored, don't be stingy!" so they come up with a summoning rotation where he calls on them to help deal with the kind of threats that requires backup. The JL is appreciative at first. They are less so once they realise how chaotic Danny's reformed Rogue Gallery can be.
(Batman especially wants them all gone, they're so unpredictable he can't plan a strategy around their madness. Robin hates Youngblood with the fire of a thousand suns and has declared him his nemesis. The Flash wants Clockwork to stop bullying him.)

// Better Man // Tom Holland is the love of my life and I’m pretty sure he would make ME a better woman. He’s definitely a good man already so I don’t think he needs much help. I know I’m a little late on the Youngblood train but I adore this song and I’m glad it finally gave me some inspiration.

*✧ — AUGUST WRAP UP
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you all remember the text post i wrote about how overreading is a sign i am not coping well with something and actually procrastinating life. and how an anon in my inbox said “i tell my sister's boyfriend the number of books i read this month and he thinks he should congratulate me, but it's literally a shameful catholic confession that i should atone for with penance.”? this post is my shameful catholic confession. nothing more to add. if things keep going like this september might look similar.... someone pls send help. (don’t worry, i am doing fine, i’m just being dramatic.)
highlights of my months were all the new favourites, my reread/kind-of-buddy-read of loveless (shout out to jo for putting up with me) AND my reread of the hunger games and catching fire. these books still slap so hard. can’t wait to start mockingjay once i am done with my library books.

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most) from skyjacks :3
Also doing the full list! :3 Disclaimer: I am on episode 22
blorbo (favorite character/character I think about the most) - This one is like a tie between Gable and Dref but Dref is a later answer so gonna go with Gable. Oh my god I didn't need a new fictional crush but here we are. Also they're SUCH A THEMBO and it delights me, and there's so much room for angst or relationship feelings!!
scrunkly (character that gives me cute aggression) - JONNIT IS SO BABEY, who allowed him to be so babey!!
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave) - I have no clue who is unpopular but the ao3 Dref tag is like 4 pages long and it's hard to find fanart of him so gonna go with Dref
glup shitto (obscure fave) - I don't think I have one yet!
poor little meow meow (problematic/pathetic fave) - The SECOND Dref was described I was like "ah yes, I have found the meow meow." I am not immune to fragile pathetic morally conflicted necromancers.
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun) - While Dref is excellent whump-bait I'm gonna mix it up and go with Travis, I want to see this snarky immortal brat CRY
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell) - Tiberius Youngblood made my skin CRAWL the moment he started talking and he sounds like a Jane Austen antagonist. Very punchable, get this rich creepster OUT OF HERE.
Send me a fandom!
