The chemistry between Archie Madekwe as Jann and David Harbour as Jack in the Gran Turismo film was absolutely unreal.

rewatching gran turismo and I didn't expect the scene where after playing kenny g to jann through the comm and jann yelling at him to stop it, jack calmly asks him "you mad, bro?". When I tell you I shrieked with laughter.

There were good days, increasingly so and eventually Jann didn't feel as guilty for smiling again, racing around the track and enjoying the G-forces that clawed at his body. But there were the bad ones too, the ones filled with fear and doubt and anxiety, where his panic overwhelmed him and he found himself hiding in a closet or a restroom, his knees drawn into his body and his head placed in between them as he sobbed and gasped and tried desperately not to fall apart. It was Jack who found him, sat with him and breathed with him until he felt the pressure on his chest ebb a little and he could feel more than the ache of his pounding heart.

this was a fic that I started for Jann Mardenborough/Jack Salter from the new Gran Turismo movie, which is my favourite thing in a long time. I love reading all the Jann/Jack so I figured I would give it a try a couple times but never got anywhere with it.

“You didn’t have plans?” Jack asks. “I thought we were going to have another beer,” Jann says. “Then you came up here.” “I thought you might want to spend some time with your newfound fans,” Jack says. “Are you jealous?” Jann asks. Jack laughs and looks away. “Of who? You?” He makes a quiet noise, because he knows that’s not what he meant. Jann knows it too. Jack couldn’t possibly be any more obvious if he was trying. Fucking hell. How does Jann, this kid, get under his skin so much? “No,” Jann says softly. “I don’t think so.”
