“What does it look like?” he snapped, clutching his arm. The appendage hung strangely low, shoulders not quite sitting evenly about his neck. It appeared to be limp.

"Well to me it looks like a single ballistic wound to the right posterior shoulder on the superior border of the scapula. There is no exit wound so I'm assuming the bullet is retained inside." A dry response, arms folding over his chest.

It was early in the afternoon when Moran returned to Conduit Street from a meeting. He had gone to see their weapon supplier, who had managed to get Moran a new set of weapons, only recently released from the factories. Upon entering the house, he took his longcoat off, hanging it up neatly on the coatrack, picking up his briefcase which he had put down briefly to take his coat off, and walked into the sitting room, beelining straight to the liquor cabinet. A deal like this deserved a celebration, and he poured himself a glass of Scotch . He turned around as he took a sip, suddenly away that his employer was sat on the sofa. The man looked unusually unlike himself. Of course, Moriarty had his days where he let his fancy suits in the wardrobe, but he never looked anything like this. 'What's with the outfit?' Moran asked as he unbuttoned his jacket and sank down in an arm chair, toeing his shoes off as he took another sip. 'You're not gonna fool me with that disguise -- you look ridiculous.'

Mycroft rated his chance of survival at approximately 70%. If Moriarty wanted to kill him, then Moriarty would. James was not a man who would hesitate if he wanted to kill someone.

Which was why he was reasonably confident that he would continue to live - because the man in front of him was hesitating, and, not only that, but Mycroft could see no reason for him to shoot the gun.

Did Moriarty need a reason? Mycroft liked to think so.

Post return? Many. The ones that came about through his absence, Sherlock absolutely despises. To him, they're a reminder of how he failed, how  he was caught, and how he let himself down. Further more, to him, they're a proof that he is human; weak and flawed, and that is something that he very rarely likes others to see.
