T shirt and Merch design for JamBallah NW 2018. The wonderful @elise.jamballah asked merely for a design that incorporated vines and otherworldly botanicals, and was incredibly patient with my insistence to conceptually trick out the image! I wanted to the design to create an artifact that would imbue the wearer with the powers depicted: resilience, tenacity, growth and shining beauty throughout. I drew inspiration from the illuminated manuscript of the Middle East and Europe. I wanted to depict our collective, exposed heart, beating fierce despite it’s vulnerability during these dangerous times. I wanted this image to aid us in harnessing our inner dragons: our internal beasts whom are protective, unconquerable, and intrinsically beautiful. Maybe a little ambitious for a t-shirt design!
