How do you PS1? is an open house for the area's most mysterious arts, music, production, and presentation venue. You can expect: open studios for our resident artists, inflatables from our public projects team, information dispersed about how the community can utilize our enigmatic structure (ANSWERS!) as well as traditional entertainment standards such as entertainment (including Paperback Rhino and video/sound installation), food, and interesting conversation. Part fundraiser, part information fair. All celebration.

The Subversive Book workshop!
This is a semi-intensive workshop about making books intended to create change, to surprise, to disrupt expectations -- to be political, difficult, or playful. We will look at lots of examples of subversive books and book projects, learn low-tech binding and printing techniques, and work on zines, altered books, and book intervention and/or installation and/or performance projects.
Thursdays June 5, 12, 19, & 26, 5:30-8pm
with optional visit to UI Special Collections TBD
Workshop fee is pay-what-you-can, based on your income/access to resources. It is open to all regardless of "artistic experience" or lack thereof. In the interest of building an awesome radical bookmaking collective we ask that participants commit to attending all four sessions if possible and doing some work outside of workshop sessions.
Basic materials and tools will be provided, but participants may want to purchase other supplies depending on their projects.
Email [email protected] with questions or to sign up.
