Welcome to "Horses of Heroes", a blog dedicated to exploring the incredible bond between humans and their equine companions. Throughout history, horses have played a vital role in human society, serving as transportation, companions, and even warriors in times of conflict. This blog is particularly focused on the relationship between horses and heroes, highlighting the horses that have played important roles in the lives of legendary figures such as Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, Joan of Arc, and many more. We'll also examine the ways in which horses have been depicted in art, literature, and popular culture, and the impact they continue to have on our society today. Whether you're a seasoned equestrian or simply fascinated by the enduring connection between humans and horses, "Horses of Heroes" is the perfect place to dive deep into the world of equine history and culture. Join us on this journey as we explore the incredible stories of these magnificent animals and the heroes they have accompanied throughout history. Bucephalus - owned by Alexander the Great A famous horse of classical history, Bucephalus was the mount of Alexander the Great. The term "Bucephalus" comes from a branding mark that shows the head of an ox on his hindquarters. Bucephalus is characterized as a huge beast with a huge head, a black coat, and a great white star on his brow. He was bred from the "greatest Thessalian strain," and he is said to have had a blue eye as well. Bucephalus was made available to King Philip II by a horse trader named Philonicus the Thessalian against a high price. Philip father of Alexander had no interest in trying to tame the beast because no one could. Given the chance, Alexander stunned everyone by controlling it. The horse's anguish had been brought on by its ability to perceive its own shadow, so he comforted it and turned it toward the direction of the sun. Alexander managed to control the horse by letting go of his flapping cloak as well. Sources claim that Bucephalus passed away at the age of thirty. However, other versions attribute the death to fatal wounds sustained during the Battle of the Hydaspes (June 326 BC), where Alexander's forces defeated King Porus, rather than old age or exhaustion. Alexander created the city of Bucephala in honor of his steed. It was situated on the western bank of river Jhelum in Pakistan. Bucephalus is supposedly interred outside of Jhelum in the contemporary town of Jalalpur Sharif. Chetak - The Horse of Maharana Pratap The horse that Maharana Pratap rode in the Battle of Haldighati, fought on June 18, 1576, in Haldighati in the Aravalli Mountains of Rajasthan, western India, was known in traditional literature as Chetak. Chetak took Pratap safely away from the battle despite being injured, but he later passed away from his wounds. For centuries, Chetak is still living in the folklore of India. Incitatus - owned by Caligula Incitatus was a horse owned by the Roman Emperor Caligula. Although it is obvious from ancient records that this did not happen, Caligula had intended to appoint the horse as a consul. The poem "Caligula" by Zbigniew Herbert is about Incitatus' life. According to Robert Graves' I, Claudius, Incitatus was appointed a senator and placed on the list to become a consul. Later, Claudius removed Incitatus' government stipend and his status as senator because he didn't meet the necessary financial requirements. Later, Incitatus was killed after breaking his leg during a race. Marengo - owned by Napoleon Bonaparte Marengo was a grey Arabian stallion owned by Napoleon Bonaparte. The horse was named after the Battle of Marengo, which was one of Napoleon's greatest victories. Marengo was said to be a fearless and loyal mount, carrying Napoleon into many battles, including the Battle of Waterloo. After Napoleon's defeat, Marengo was captured by the British but was eventually returned to France, where he lived out the rest of his days. In his career, Marengo suffered eight wounds.
He fought for the Emperor in the battles of Austerlitz, Jena-Auerstedt, Wagram, and Waterloo. He was also commonly utilized for the 80-mile runs from Valladolid to Burgos, which he frequently finished in five hours. Napoleon I of France's renowned military horse was named Marengo and lived from roughly 1793 to 1831. After the Battle of Abukir in 1799, when he was six years old, he was imported to France from Egypt and given the name Marengo after the battle in which he successfully carried his rider. Marengo is an Arabian breed that most likely originated at the renowned El Naseri stud. Copenhagen - owned by King George III Copenhagen was a thoroughbred owned by King George III of England. He was known for his speed and strength, and he carried George III into many battles, including the Battle of Waterloo. During the battle, Copenhagen was injured, but he continued to carry the king until the end. After the battle, Copenhagen retired from active service and lived out the rest of his days in the royal stables. Copenhagen was of mixed Thoroughbred and Arabian ancestry. The name Copenhagen, which honors the British victory at the Second Battle of Copenhagen, was given to the foal in 1808. After the battle, the Duke kept riding Copenhagen in parades and other formal occasions. The horse was retired to the Duke's Stratfield Saye House and spent the remainder of his long life there as a pensioner.

PML-N Kıdemli Başkan Yardımcısı Maryam Nawaz, 9 Aralık 2023'te Jalalpur Jattan, Gujrat'ta düzenlenen bir miting esnasında jest yapıyor; bu görüntü bir videodan alınmıştır. — YouTubbe/GeoNewsLivePakistan Müslüman Birliği-Navaz (PML-N) Kıdemli Başkan Yardımcısı Meryem Navaz, Pakistan Halk Partisi'ne (PPP), Bilawal Butto Zerdari'nin çağırdığı şeklinde, babası Navaz Şerif'in haiz olduğu "aynı seviyede oyun alanı" isteyip istemediğini sordu. Tüm siyasal partiler için eşit seçim kampanyası fırsatları. Ülkede uzun bir bekleyişin arkasından genel seçimlere adım adım yaklaşılırken, başta iki eski müttefiki PML-N ve PPP olmak suretiyle siyasal partiler, 2024 seçimleri öncesinde seçim kampanyalarına tüm hızıyla başladı.Sadece PPP, geçici hükümetin ve mahkemelerin de Navaz'a iyilik yaptığını iddia etti; dört senelik sürgünü tamamladıktan sonrasında 21 Ekim'de Pakistan'a döndüğünden beri davalarında rahatlama sağlanıyor.Bununla beraber PML-N'nin baş organizatörü olan Maryam, Cumartesi günü partinin Gujrat'taki gençlik kongresinde konuşurken Bilawal'ın partisine karşılık verdi ve kimsenin babasıyla aynı seviyede oyun alanına haiz olmaması için yakarma ettiğini söylemiş oldu. "Eğer Navaz Şerif şeklinde eşit bir oyun alanı istiyorsanız, ona ne kadar eşit bir oyun alanının verildiğini görmelisiniz [over time]. Bu eşit şartlara haiz olmak ister misiniz?" diye sordu Maryam, PML-N üst düzey liderinin sürgün ve hapishanede geçirdiği yıllara atıfta bulunarak.Navaz'a 22 yılda bir seçime katılma şansı verildiğini, eşini ve annesini hapiste ve yurt haricinde kaybettiğini söylemiş oldu.Üç kez başbakanın dönüşünde Minar-e-Pakistan'da düzenlenen 21 Ekim PML-N mitingini hatırlatan Meryem, Navaz'ın eve dönüşünü görünce gözyaşlarına boğulduğunu söylemiş oldu. ".Mitingin başarısının halkın geleceğine dair umutlarını Navaz'a bağladığını gösterdiğini söylemiş oldu.PML-N'nin hukuki ve siyasal engelleriyle ilgili olarak Maryam şunları söylemiş oldu: "Navaz'ın siyasal yolculuğu kolay değildi".Eski başbakanın 11 yılını sürgünde geçirdiğini ve "yanlış davalar" sebebiyle hâlâ mahkemelerde vazife halletmeye devam ettiğini söylemiş oldu."Ülkede Navaz Şerif'in hapse atılmadığı bir hapishane yok fakat millet karar verme şansına haiz olduğunda kararını onun lehine verdi" diye ekledi.Maryam, bu ülkede adaletsizliği yapmanın kolay bulunduğunu sadece sona erdirmenin zor bulunduğunu söylemiş oldu. Babasının kaplumbağa hızıyla adalete ulaştığını sadece hâlâ kayırıldığı söylendiğini söylemiş oldu.PML-N'nin öncesiz rakibi Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dini lideri İmran Khan'a yeni bir salvo ateşleyen Meryem, bu kadar oldukca yalan söyledikten sonrasında parmaklıklar ardında bulunduğunu söylemiş oldu."Yapmış olduğu işin karşılığını veren, [I] adını bile almak istemiyorum. Navaz Şerif değil, onun [Imran] PML-N lideri, kendi eylemleri onu şu anda bulunmuş olduğu yere getirdi" dedi.Maryam, İmran'ın adını vermeden, Navaz'ın üç kez başbakan seçildiğini sadece kendisine karşı herhangi bir soygun yada yolsuzluk iddiasının kanıtlanamayacağını sadece eski PTI başkanının bir kez başbakan olduktan sonrasında en büyük hırsızlığı yaptığını söylemiş oldu."Navaz'a hırsız diyen tarihin en büyük hırsızlığını yaparken yakalandı."Mühürlü bir zarf için kabinenin onayını aldı. Kendisi ve eşi [Bushra Bibi] El Kadir Vakfı vasıtasıyla arazi satın aldı ve sorgulandığında ayağında alçı, kafasında kovayla geldi" diye konuştu.Ayrıca PPP Başkanı Bilawal, Aşağı Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa'da bir mitingde konuşurken, dördüncü kez başbakan olmayı ummuş olduğu için Navaz'a sert bir tavır aldı.“Mian haiz, geldin [to the power] seçim yöntemiyle üç kez. En azından seçilmek [your] Dördüncü görevde[buseferbaşbakanolarak''dedivePML-Nliderliğiningücübirkezdaha"seçim"yoluylaelegeçirmekistediğiniekledi[asprimeministerthistime"hesaidaddingthatthePML-Nsupremowantedtohavethepowerthrough"selection"onceagainBunun tekrar olması durumunda ne kendisinin ne de milletin seçim neticelerini kabul etmeyeceğini söylemiş oldu.

Jose Papachen & Another v. State of Up & Another
Crl. Appeal 877/2023 before Hon’ble Allahabad High Court

Background
Special Judge S.C./ S.T. Act, Ambedkar Nagar, rejected the Bail Application of the appellants vide its order dt.03.03.2023. Aggrieved by the rejection of their bail Criminal Appeal was filed before Hon’ble Allahabad High Court.
After going through the records and submission of the Counsels of either side Hon’ble Court allowed the Criminal Appeal and set aside the order of Special Judge S.C./S.T. Act, Ambedkar Nagar, in Bail Application for offence under Section 3 and 5 (1) of Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Conversion of Religion Act, 2021 and Section 3 (1) (Dha) #SC/STAct, Police Station Jalalpur, District Ambedkar Nagar.
Appellants Jose Papachen & Sheeja were enlarged on bail with conditions to follow.
Allegations against the Appellant
Primary allegation against the appellants is of having contravened the provisions of Section 3 of the Act of 2021, which prohibits conversion or attempt of conversion either directly or otherwise from one religion to another by use of practice of misrepresentation, force, undue influence, coercion, allurement or by any fraudulent means.
Submission of the Counsel of the appellant
1.     FIR is lodged for gaining his political goodwill amongst the members of society.
2.     Zila Mantri is not the aggrieved person as required under UP Prohibition of Conversion of Religion Act 2021.
3.     Appellants are not involved in any activity of conversion.
4.     Statement of villagers recorded also shows that the appellants are involved in good teachings encourage them to get their children educated organize Bhandara teach to live peacefully instruct villagers to not enter into altercation, not to consume liquor & even distribute Holy Book Bible
Submission of the Additional Government Advocate for the State
1.     State Counsel opposed bail submitting that the appellants are allegedly using psychological pressure for forceful conversions, as part of their plan to set up an Christianity state.
2.     the present case concerns mass religious conversions within the State of Uttar Pradesh from Hindu religion to Christianity through illicit means.
3.     The appellants are allegedly using psychological pressure for forceful conversions, as part of their plan to set up an Christianity state.
Observation of the Court
1.     There does not appear to be any material to show that appellants had used any undue influence or allurement to the villagers for mass conversion.
2.     Providing good teachings to children and promoting the spirit of brotherhood amongst the villagers does not amount to conversion by use of force.
3.     The FIR was not lodged by the Zila Mantri of the ruling party. Complainant is not an aggrieved as required U/s 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Conversion of Religion Act 2021
4.     The words "any aggrieved person", if taken by themselves are extremely wide.
5.     Aggrieved person would be a person but is personally aggrieved by his or her fraudulent conversion be it an individual or in a mass conversion ceremony.
6.     Under the said circumstances the first information report dated 24-01-2023 was not lodged by a competent person.
Grounds considered by Court for granting Bail
1.     There is no likelihood of conclusion of trial
2.     No convincing material to indicate the possibility of tampering with the evidence by the appellants.
3.     Complainant has no locus to lodge the present F.I.R. as required under Section 4 of the Act, 2021.
4.     Submission of the Appellant’s Counsel that providing good teachings, distributing Holy Bible books, encouraging children to get education, organizing assembly of villagers and performing “Bhandara” and instructing the villagers not to enter into altercation and also not to take liquor does not amount to allurement
5.     Submission of the Appellant Counsel that the appellants are not involved in any activity which amounts to attempt to convert, either directly or otherwise, from one religion to another by use or practice of misrepresentation, force, undue influence, coercion, allurement or by any fradulent means.
6.     The complainant is Zila Mantri of a ruling party and is neither the aggrieved person, his/her parents, brother, sister or any other person, who is related to him/her by blood, marriage or adoption, as provided under Section 4 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2021
7.     The complainant is not competent to lodge the present F.I.R.
8.     Appellant’s are in jail since 24.01.2023 and has by now had undergone a substantial period of detention.
9.     Court below has failed to appreciate the material available on record, the impugned order passed by the trial court is liable to be set aside.
