Jakob! (hopefully that's the correct spelling hdjdhdh)
Ok so did this and a bunch of others literally years ago, but for each one I had a question I'd stall on so then I just. Never actually posted. Any of these.
So I'm fixing that now! Context is this was a character ask prompt - might be the template was thanks to @iolitewyvern ? If so lmk so I can link it properly I lost the original post lmao
As for spelling, it can be! Jake's name spelling denotes if he's in the fantasy au setting or not. Jakob is fantasy, Jacob is not. So I answered these based on fantasy Jake!
Tumblr media
(Best image I have, but it's normal Jake and also humanized lmfao. He's like. Sonic furry wolf so ykno. Picrew source)
Who are they?
Full name?  Jakob Alhers
Nicknames? Jake
Gender/pronouns? Male, he/him
Orientation? Demiromantic/arospec, gay
Age/Birthday? About 16, birthday is on a separate calendar than ours but is most likely in the local winter months of his home country.
Fun fact! Zodiac? ^^^^ (would most likely be Capricorn)
What’s their personality?
Major good traits? Cares deeply about others around him, dry sense of humor
Major flaws? Very prideful while also having zero value of self
Goals?  Living up to what is expected of him, as royalty and a deity
Fears? Hurting another with his own actions, losing someone important to him
Optimistic or pessimistic? Pessimistic
Introvert, extrovert, or ambivert? Introvert all the way
Empathetic or un-empathetic? Hmm... he can empathize if he's aware, but he struggles to pick up cues... so maybe that's more sympathetic?
Do they wait and plan or dive right in? Bit of both, he tries to plan but if he's panicked or upset enough he'll lose his cool and charge in
Do they go with the flow or forge their own path? He will not go with the flow. Out of spite even.
Relations to the world?
Who’s their family? His mother Allison, and his father Alher
Where are they from? (Gestures vaguely at northern fantasyland)
Where do they live now? (Gestures to same vague region)
Do they have a job? If so, what is it? Crown prince of his country
How are they with technology? He's in your very basic very generic fantasy au so uh. Not great if he ever saw any lmao
Connections to religion or spirituality? Well his dad is a literal god, does that count?
Powers or magic? He has strong ice magic that grows stronger with age.
Fun fact! Connections to the lore? He is in fact a demigod, son of Winter itself
Favorites?
Favorite season/weather? Summer, hot and sunny days
Favorite place? He hides in his room a lot, so it's hard to say.... Maybe his room lmao
Favorite food? Probably some sort of steak dish? Idk, something I'm not familiar with lol
Favorite clothes/accessories? He's limited for various reasons, but highly values sentimental accessories, such as his family crest brooch or jewelry made for him by Pandora
Favorite animal? He's a furry so this is a loaded question to answer lmao. Might not even be an animal as we know it.
Favorite/most frequently used mode of transportation? I think he prefers to walk places himself...? He doesn't usually travel lol
Favorite holiday? Doubt it'd be one we know of, although he doesn't strike me as big on social events like most holidays are
Hobbies? Sculpting, practicing swordfighting
Favorite thing about themself? He takes a lot of pride in his swordfighting skills, at least for a prince ;)
Relationships?
Best friends? Nerezza
Closest family member? He's close with both parents, but spends more bonding time with his mom overall
Partner/s? Pandora DeSales
Enemies? He considers the murderous Crow an enemy for constantly attacking his loved ones
What organizations/clubs/etc are they in? N/A
Fun fact! What are they like with their best friend or partner? With his partner Pandora, Jakob drops a lot of his composed and distant persona, he can be a bit childish but is also a lot more casual and easy to make laugh. He's also not afraid to play the sly prank or do other shit he knows he can get away with just to mess with him.
With Nerezza he isn't quite as open in the same way, but the two of them bond over being snarky royal spawn with little affinity for their title or the expectations that come with it. The sarcasm in the room tends to increase tenfold if you put these two together.

(JTA) — Claudia Goldin, a Jewish scholar at Harvard University, won the Nobel Prize for Economics for her work tracking the disparity in earnings for women in the labor market.
“Claudia Goldin has trawled the archives and collected over 200 years of data from the U.S., allowing her to demonstrate how and why gender differences in earnings and employment rates have changed over time, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences said Monday in its release.
Goldin, 77, shattered a glass ceiling in 1989 when she became the first tenured tenured women professor in Harvard’s Economics Department. “I think it will be very good for Harvard to have a tenured woman, and I’m pleased to be that woman,” Goldin said at the time, speaking the the campus student newspaper, the Crimson.
Her seminal work, “Understanding the Gender Gap — An Economic History of American Women” published in 1992, sought to prove that opportunity for women in the labor market was less a function of changing social mores or economic growth, than it was susceptible to a variety of factors, including a woman’s age, her education and expectations of mothers.
“Goldin showed that female participation in the labor market did not have an upward trend over this entire period, but instead forms a U-shaped curve,” the Academy said in its release, referring to the 200-year scope of Goldin’s research.
“The participation of married women decreased with the transition from an agrarian to an industrial society in the early nineteenth century, but then started to increase with the growth of the service sector in the early twentieth century,” it said.
At the press conference announcing the award, Jakob Svensson, the chairman of the prize committee, said Goldin helped elucidate why women remain “vastly underrepresented” in the labor market despite being better educated.
“Understanding women’s role in the labor market is important in society, not the least because if women do not have the same opportunity as men, or they participate on unequal terms, labour, skills and talent go wasted,” said Svensson, a professor of economics at Stockholm University. “Thanks to Professor Goldin’s groundbreaking research we know much more about the underlying facts driving women’s labor market outcomes and which barriers may need to be addressed in the future.”
An attempt by the Nobel committee to reach Goldin by phone at the press conference failed. Prize organizers said they had spoken with her earlier and that she was “surprised and glad.”
Goldin’s most recent work, “Career and Family: Women’s Century-Long Journey toward Equity,” published in 2021, discusses “why true equity for dual career couples remains frustratingly out of reach,” according to Goldin’s Harvard University biography pages.
“Antidiscrimination laws and unbiased managers, while valuable, are not enough,” says Goldin’s precis of her book. “‘Career and Family’ explains why we must make fundamental changes to the way we work and how we value caregiving if we are ever to achieve gender equality and couple equity.”
Goldin, a graduate of the Bronx High School of Science in New York City, has also looked into the historic role of Jews in the marketplace. The authors of a 2003 Boston University paper, “From Farmers to Merchants: A Human Capital Interpretation of Jewish Economic History,” consulted with Goldin.
A 2001 paper she cowrote for the National Bureau of Economic Research on the tendency of women to retain their surname when married, was based in part on an analysis of wedding announcements in the New York Times in 1991. A third of the religious ceremonies were Jewish, the authors noted, “not surprising given the location” of the newspaper. Religious ceremonies for Jews and for others, they found, were likelier to correlate to women changing their name.
Goldin devotes two pages on her Harvard University biography site to her golden retrievers: Prairie, who died in 2009, and Pika, who is 13. She lists his distinctions, as a therapy dog and as a winner of the Excellent Title in Performance Scent Dogs. Her most recent posting marks his “bark mitzvah.”
Also distinguished is her husband, Lawrence Katz, who is a professor of economics at Harvard.
Among the recipients of last year’s Economics Nobel was Ben Bernanke, the Jewish former chairman of the federal reserve.

The Story of Kim Wall: The Tragic Death of the Woman Born to Tell Stories
Tumblr media
The murder of Kim Wall is also referred to as "the submarine case" and it took place on August 10th, 2017. Wall was a Swedish freelance journalist in the midst of pursuing her next big story.
Wall boarded the submarine, Nautilus, of Danish entrepreneur Peter Madsen, with the intent to interview him. Her partner, Ole Stobbe reported her missing when she failed to return to the harbor. The submarine however was seen by a lighthouse the following morning.
Unfortunately, on August 21st, a torso was found washed up on the beach and it was identified as belonging to Wall. A post-mortem examination found fifteen stab wounds, most of which were on the groin. It also appeared that metal had been attached to her in an effort to ensure that her body would not float.
On October 6th, police divers found two plastic bags in Køge Bay, containing Wall's head, legs, clothes, and a knife. Six days later, a saw was found in the water. Then, On November 21st and 29th, police divers found Wall's arms in the bay.
Madsen was arrested upon being rescued from Køge Bay after Nautilus foundered on August 11th, and he was charged with negligent manslaughter. Police suspected that he had scuttled the submarine. Madsen initially stated that he had dropped Wall off on land, but later admitted to dumping her body at sea after she died in what he claimed was an accident on board Nautilus. He testified in a court hearing on September 5th that Wall died after being struck on the head by the submarine's hatch cover. The prosecution said that police had found videos on Madsen's computer showing women being murdered, and that witnesses said that they had seen Madsen watching videos of decapitation's and practicing asphyxiation sex. Prosecutor Jakob Buch-Jepsen told the court that no traces of Madsen's DNA had been found on Wall's body but said: "... traces of semen have been found in the underpants which were secured from Peter Madsen after the arrest". Under questioning, Madsen denied ejaculating while he was with Wall.
A post-mortem examination performed on Wall's head after it was found a month later found no signs of blunt force trauma and did not determine the cause of death. Madsen subsequently changed his story, admitting to dismembering Wall's body but continuing to deny intentionally killing her, saying that she may have died after poisonous exhaust gases entered the submarine while he was on deck. The post-mortem performed on Wall's torso showed no signs of exhaust gases in her lungs.
On January 16th, 2018, Madsen was charged with murder, indecent handling of a corpse, and sexual assault. The prosecution accused him of having tortured Wall before killing her by cutting her throat or strangling her. Madsen's trial began on March 8th, at Copenhagen Court House. On April 25th, he was convicted of all three charges and sentenced to life imprisonment. Madsen appealed  his sentence and on September 26th, Østre Landsret, High Court of Eastern Denmark, upheld the sentence.
Wall's family and friends continue to honor her. They founded the Kim Wall Memorial Fund, aiming to fund female reporters to cover stories of subcultural value.

so anyway my massive bisexuality is one of those things that my family know about but don't acknowledge, ever, like we just don't talk about it. BUT today i had dinner with my mum & brother + his wife, and we got to talking about eurovision. and we were all like "yeah can't remember the interval acts, they must not have been very memorable" until my brother said "oh they had that bit where cornelia jakobs was in the pool with her clothes on".
and i, of course, said, as neutrally as i could: "oh yeah i do remember that one."
and instead of taking it at face value or ignoring it like i expected they would, these assholes all went "ohhh i bet you do wink wink" and i have to say. i have never felt so loved and accepted while also being dunked on by my family.

KAI GERBER Disavows The Divorce Duck, Launches New Gen Z-Focused Media Company GRBR
By Cabo Lucas Entertainment Weekly, December 18, 2024
In an unexpected turn of events that has left both fans and industry insiders reeling, Kai Gerber, the non-binary star who made waves as Jasper in Adult Swim’s quirky dramedy The Divorce Duck, has announced the launch of a new media company that seems to pivot dramatically from their current trajectory in Hollywood.
The company, GRBR, which stands for "Gen Re-Builders," is described as a new media platform focused on creating content tailored specifically for Gen Z—content that Gerber says will be “authentic, unfiltered, and purpose-driven.” The announcement comes just weeks after Gerber publicly distanced themselves from The Divorce Duck, a show that was initially seen as a breakout vehicle for the 24-year-old actor.
Gerber's Departure from the Show
In a statement issued on their personal social media accounts, Gerber explained their decision to move away from The Divorce Duck, stating that they were “grateful for the experience but no longer align with the creative vision of the show or its direction.” While Gerber was initially praised for their portrayal of Jasper, Jakob and Diane’s son, whose relationship with the eccentric Kevin (Kevin Corrigan) forms the emotional heart of the series, it seems the show’s tone and underlying message no longer resonate with them.
"I’ve come to realize that The Divorce Duck no longer represents my values or the kind of work I want to be a part of," Gerber shared in an Instagram post. "It was a unique project, but I want to create spaces where people like me, people of my generation, can be seen and heard in a more genuine, dynamic way. That’s why I’m stepping away to focus on something new. The work I do moving forward will reflect the voices, experiences, and artistry of Gen Z, and most importantly, it’ll be ours."
The news has raised several questions about the future of The Duck and the Divorce (Canadian title), particularly surrounding the fate of Gerber’s character, Jasper. As the central emotional figure in the series—serving as the conduit through which many of the show’s family dynamics and comedic moments unfold—Jasper's sudden departure has left fans and executives wondering how the show can continue without its most iconic character.
Can The Divorce Duck Survive Without Jasper?
Industry sources indicate that there has been ongoing debate within Adult Swim about how to proceed. Should they attempt to re-cast Jasper with another actor, or is it time for the show to pivot entirely? According to a source close to the production, the idea of replacing Gerber has been met with mixed reactions.
“Jasper is the glue holding the whole family dynamic together," says an anonymous insider. "Without Kai, it’s hard to imagine the show working. Their unique take on the role of a disaffected, confused young adult was what really brought the show’s absurd premise down to Earth. We’ve had discussions about re-casting, but it’s a tough call—Kai made that character their own. It’s unclear how the audience would react to someone else playing Jasper.”
While it’s not uncommon for TV shows to go through re-casting when key roles are vacated, the departure of Gerber has taken a more dramatic turn due to their open disavowal of the project. Gerber’s deep personal connection to the role of Jasper was one of the key factors that made the character stand out to viewers, and many are wondering if the show can move forward without feeling like a hollow imitation.
The Emergence of GRBR: Gerber’s New Media Company
Despite their exit from The Duck and the Divorce, Gerber has been busy laying the groundwork for a new kind of media company, one that’s deeply in tune with Gen Z’s values and sensibilities. GRBR aims to address what Gerber describes as “the gaping void in content that speaks authentically to a generation that demands transparency and creative control.”
GRBR will focus on digital-first media, including web series, short films, podcasts, and social media-driven campaigns. “I’m sick of watching TV shows that are made for my generation, but not by my generation,” Gerber says in a promotional video for GRBR. “We need to be in charge of telling our own stories, on our own terms. GRBR is going to break the rules.”
The company’s debut slate includes projects that are expected to tackle everything from mental health and gender fluidity to the deep existential crises facing Gen Z in a post-pandemic world. Gerber has indicated that one of the first GRBR-backed projects will be a docuseries about the “inner workings of online fandoms,” exploring how young people create and sustain communities in the digital age.
The Impact on Gerber’s Career
Gerber’s move away from traditional Hollywood roles and the mainstream entertainment industry is not entirely unexpected. Over the past year, Gerber has been vocal about the need for a new paradigm in media, one that includes greater representation, realness, and inclusivity. “For me, it’s about pushing boundaries. If I’m going to put my name on something, it’s going to be something that I believe in,” Gerber said in a recent interview with Variety. “And I don’t believe in this kind of content anymore. I want to create something that feels like mine—and that’s what GRBR is going to be.”
While it remains to be seen whether The Duck and the Divorce can carry on without Gerber’s central role, Gerber’s announcement has clearly set a new course for their career. And while the fans of The Duck and the Divorce may have to brace themselves for an uncertain future, one thing is clear: Gerber’s star is on the rise in the world of Gen Z-driven media, and they’re determined to shape it on their own terms.
What’s Next for The Duck and the Divorce?
The show’s future remains in limbo. Star George Chen (Looking, Flop House) is still in a two season contract. Sources confirm that Adult Swim is exploring various options, including the possibility of a complete reworking of the show’s concept, or even a final season that concludes the family’s story arc without Jasper at its center. Whether or not the series can retain its audience without Gerber’s unique portrayal of Jasper is still an open question.
“We’re not giving up on the show just yet,” says an Adult Swim spokesperson. “But we’re also taking the time to listen to Kai’s feedback and understand their decision. At the end of the day, this is a show about connection—whether that’s through humor, love, or even absurdity. We’re committed to finding a path forward that resonates with both our audience and the creative team involved.”
As for Gerber, it’s clear that GRBR is their next big leap into the future of media, and they’re determined to leave behind anything that no longer aligns with their values. Whether or not they’ll return to acting—or if The Divorce Duck will ever be the same—is yet to be seen. But one thing is certain: Kai Gerber is ready to rewrite the rules of entertainment, one Gen Z-driven project at a time.
Stay tuned for updates on The Divorce Duck and the launch of GRBR as we continue to follow this evolving story.

The first song: I feel like it's a Hammerwright song more than anything. Wainwright, even eldritchified, is too adjusted but THE GESTALT OF TWO IN ONE, AS WELL AS THEIR LOVE AND THE GREAT BINDER HIMSELF would 100%.
The second song: Quite (rewrite!)Gythiancore but going way more into the tediore store Slaanesh/emotion eater part of its thing. I could also see it as a medley of the whole Circle talking about goofing off and whatnot.
Hello, I have not slept tonight and I just listened to a musical soundtrack

CHARACTER INFORMATION
face claim: David Jakobs
full name: Kaiser Levi Brandt
nickname(s) / goes by: Levi
pronouns & gender: Cis man, he/him
sexuality: Bisexual
birth date: November 12th, 1988
birth place: Hamburg, Germany
arrival to merrock: January 2022
housing: Rural Countryside
occupation: Owner of Cobblestone Cafe/part-time employee @ Pet Haven
work place: Cobblestone Cafe & Pet Haven
family: Felix and Ada Brandt (parents), three younger siblings, Maren Brandt (daughter)
relationship status: Single, previously engaged
PERSONALITY
Levi is generally reclusive and introverted, never really having been a huge fan of large social gatherings or anything of the sort, nor is he really the best at communicating his desires, and, in that sense, he could be seen as somewhat dishonest. Additionally, he is often impulsive, often doing things on a whim with little care about whether it’d benefit him or not. He’s humble and polite towards others, regardless of his feelings about them. Regarding his business, he values all of his customers and is likely to remember a solid majority of people’s orders off the top of his head. He could very well be stereotyped as a ball of sunshine if said sunshine had a cloud slightly obstructing it.
WRITTEN BY: Wren (they/them), EST.
BACKGROUND / BIO
triggering / sensitive content: pregnancy, mental health
Kaiser Levi Brandt was born on November 12th, 1988 in Hamburg, Germany as the eldest child of Felix and Ada Brandt, a news reporter and a schoolteacher, respectively. They immigrated to the United States in January 1993, when Kaiser had recently turned four, settling in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where his three younger siblings were born and raised. In most social settings growing up, he went by Levi rather than Kaiser due to being initially misunderstood when asked to introduce himself at school—yet the name stuck with him even as an adult, except with family, of course.
As a kid, he peculiarly found himself more drawn to animals than people. Part of it, he believed, had to do with the fact that he never owned pets growing up. That wasn’t to say he didn’t have friends, but almost half the time he hung out with any of his friends, he would be petting their dog’s fur (or whatever pet was in the room) while maintaining a conversation. He wasn’t all that interested in veterinary work, he found it too upsetting (but he has deep respect for anyone in that field,) but was more intrigued by something less chaotic that still allowed him to interact with animals.
Levi left Milwaukee at eighteen to attend the University of Hamburg, majoring in business administration and minoring in biology and Germanic studies. He later continued with his education to receive his master's in business administration, before returning to America and settling in New York City, working several odd jobs and interning for several companies to make a living and learn the ropes at first, before later opening a coffee shop after several years of planning and research. His business did well for many years, before having to be shut down in early 2018 due to a sudden increase in competitors and a decrease in customers and being unable to keep up.
Dejected, he moved back to Milwaukee to be closer to his family, working as a barista in a local coffee shop, where he met a woman, a frequent customer at the shop who he got to know incredibly well. One day, he asked her out, and over several months, they went on many dates. Love had never really been something on Levi’s mind, but this certainly felt different. He proposed to her on a cold evening in September 2018, and she happily accepted. Not long after, they moved to her hometown of San Francisco, where they had a daughter, Maren Sofia, in August 2020. Levi stayed home to care for Maren and worked part-time at a cat café.
About a year after Maren’s birth, things began to go awry. They both sort of realized that wedding planning, and the engagement in general, had put a ton of unnecessary pressure on their relationship. Levi and his fiancée were set to marry on August 23rd, 2021, a few days before Maren’s first birthday, but they mutually called it off the night before, with Levi taking Maren back to Milwaukee with him.
Levi didn’t exactly try to reach out to his ex again, as the split had left an unexpected impact on his mental health, something he hadn’t experienced before. He began frequently attending therapy, which helped significantly and is something he continues to do to this day.
In late 2021, he decided to pack his belongings and move further East Coast, for a change in scenery. He wound up in Merrock the following January, where he took over the Cobblestone Café and worked part-time at Pet Haven not too far from his residence. Since arriving in Merrock, he’s kept a relatively low profile outside of work-related activities, wanting to be more community-involved (especially as the new year approaches) but also wanting to be more reserved and out of the general limelight. All in all, his main goal is to just take things one day at a time.

Name: Agneta Ranström nee Nilsson
Age & Birthday: 60 years old, January 20th
Gender/Pronouns: Cis Woman / She/her
Birthplace: New York, New York
Species: Witch
Job / Tie to industry: Former Actress, COO of Zenith Entertainment
Positives: Committed, Discreet, Driven, Resilient
Negatives: Aloof, Manipulative, Controlling, Temperamental
ABOUT
Agneta was born into a world of both glamour and darkness. Her mother, Greta Eriksson, hailed from a distinguished line of witches in Sweden, deeply immersed in the study of the supernatural and the taboo art of abyssal magic. Agneta's father, Karl Nilsson, worked as a manager in the entertainment industry. Their paths crossed in the 1950s when Greta was then living in the United States. Struck by her beauty and shared heritage, their relationship quickly blossomed. Greta soon embarked on a career in acting, and after their marriage, they had three children: Hugo, Olin, and Agneta.
Behind the facade of an ideal family life was a darker reality. Greta, herself a victim of her family's obsession with abyssal magic, continued her arcane practices, involving her children in her studies. Though she was not inherently cruel, Greta was broken, often spending time in mental health institutions throughout Agneta's childhood. Karl, aware of the abuse his children suffered, excused it due to Greta's illnesses.
Agneta internalized the trauma and followed in her mother's footsteps by pursuing a career in acting. This path led her to meet Olaf Ranström, an influential figure in the industry due to his family owning Zenith Entertainment. They married quickly and had three children: Nina, Felix, and Jakob. As a mother, Agneta vowed never to physically harm her children, recognizing the abuse she endured as a child. However, she created a household rife with emotional manipulation, aloofness, and practicality. She frequently reminded her children that her acting career had halted to raise them, despite the presence of au pairs and nannies who did most of the caregiving.
The Ranström family places a high value on magical prowess and professional success. It is expected that their children hone their magical skills and pursue careers within Zenith Entertainment or, failing this, the entertainment industry. Agneta wields shame, guilt, and control as tools to manage their children, viewing any severance of family ties as a failure on their part. She employs tactics such as feigning long periods of illness and using silent treatment to express disapproval.
Agneta's complex personality is shaped by the abuse she endured during her upbringing and the expectations placed upon her by both family and society. Deeply influenced by her mother's brokenness and her father's complicity, she is driven by a need for control and a fear of failure. While she loves her children, her methods of parenting reflect her own traumas, perpetuating the cycle in all other ways despite never being violent.

CHARACTER BASICS
Name: Jakob Ranström
Age & Birthday: 28, Nov 3
Gender/Pronouns: Cis Man / He & Him
Species: Witch
Birthplace: NY, NY
Job/role: Actor
Positive personality traits:  charming, diplomatic, playful, resourceful, versatile
Negative personality traits: guarded, impulsive, inconsistent, restless, sly
ABOUT
The Ranström witches have long been known for their extraordinary wealth, a legacy rooted in Sweden where black magic was harnessed for financial gain and self-advancement. In the 1920s, the Ranström family extended their influence from Sweden to New York City, and subsequently to Hollywood. This expansion led to the establishment of Zenith Entertainment, a formidable conglomerate encompassing film studios, talent agencies, and high-profile production companies.
Zenith Entertainment, founded in New York City, swiftly rose to prominence in the entertainment industry. The family's acquisition of the iconic Radio City Music Hall cemented their status, linking them with influential industry syndicates and exclusive institutions such as Asphodel, which trained Supernatural talents for stardom. The Ranström legacy reached beyond Broadway and the East Coast, making significant inroads into Hollywood's film, television, and digital media sectors.
Born the baby of the Ranström family, Jakob learned their family's ways fast, both from their parents Olaf and Agneta, but also from his older siblings Nina and Felix. Ever observant, Jakob watched how they lived their lives, and what sort of response it got from their parents, and tried to mimic the good, and disregard the bad. But it's much easier said than done with four strong influences in his life. And as he got older, it became harder to distinguish where his siblings and parents ended and where he began.
The RedCap incident still happened and Felix helped save the day for Jakob and his pals despite one later ending their life.
After, he fell in line a bit more, as guilt ate away at him for his friend's loss of a familiar. Jakob blamed himself. But he was a Ranström through and through, and he kept on, head held high (for the most part). He felt decisions being made for him left and right. From his parents to his siblings at times. But he valued their opinions most, feeling somewhat distant at times given their age difference, and so he strove to make it up by doing what each might've expected. Jakob was versatile, constantly changing to be who they might've wanted him to be. As such, he tended to keep his own interests close to the vest.
So he dove into acting alongside his brother, starting in school (which meant a mix of in person and homeschool/tutors). But whereas Felix openly struggled with his vices, Jakob felt like he had to be grateful and problem free to make his parents proud. What he didn't say was that he hated feeling under a microscope. That as the roles got bigger, so did his anxiety whilst performing. But his brother had his own problems, and Nina was always doing the right thing, that Jakob didn't think he had any course of action. He still doesn't.
With their parents, he's definitely the baby, and when all the focus was on Felix's fuck ups, he felt their grip tighten on him, trying to steer him in another direction. Connecting him with directors. You'd never be able to tell that he was a nervous wreck half the time, or that being on sets stressed him out more than it made him feel complete. It's part of why he's leaned into social media because he can control his own narrative and let loose. His tiktoks are more so him trying to find joy in just existing. In the mundane.
Despite the perception of a glamorous life, Jakob would rather be an unknown dweeb making dumb videos, than people trying to take pictures with him at the grocery store, or his mother micromanaging his schedule for the next year. But no one would know. Because he's mastered the art of pretend. He's an actor, after all. And he's been a chameleon even longer. So if you asked Jakob what he wants, he wouldn't be able to tell you. And with Felix's recent troubles, he doesn't think it's worth bringing up his own. Being the youngest Ranström means he grew up in the shadow of giants (literally), and that he's never managed to find his own.

The horrors also include:
a dude painfully dying and then being necromancied through his soul being forced back into his body
consensual blood drinking (for sustenance)
auto-cannibalism (for fun)
mind melding, which isn't explicitly sexual but it sometimes is
machine elves
precursors so vile and fucked up they could make an Orokin Executor embarrassed
and a few more things I probably forgor
Yes, I do mean that skinny white guy. A surprisingly sizeable part of my rewrite is just "Damn wouldn't that be fucked up. Anyways I'm Nikolai Hammerlock".
