Heyo people I've been gone a while....like for the millionth time 😂 errr ya been mega busy and had a few things to sort out in my life but I thought I'd post this old funny drawing I did like ages ago and never posted its a little rough but eh I just didnt feel like it was good enough to post at the time i drew it still 100% don't feel like it's good enough but wanted to post something to let u lot know I'm not gone forever and never returning 😂 but ya anyway I've recently improved a lot more in my art and found this old drawing on my ipad and well thought why not post it so anyway thanks for reading this essay and here's my old drawing I shall be back soon ish with new ones but decided that sticking to regular updates isn't easy for me so gonna try to update as much as I can but not gonna set a time for them to be posted or anything anyway hope everyone is doing great and that you all have great nights/days be back soon byeeeeeeee 😁👋✍️🏃‍♀️🌌

Allura and Lotor / Aladdin: Return of Jafar - Crossover AU

i've searched the aladdin au tag in klance, and i'm astounded at the utter lack of this au, so i present an outline for what my aladdin au would look like:

keith was forced to grow up on his own seeing as his parents ditched him as a kid

along the way, he found and took in pidge, who'd also lost their family, and decided to be their older sibling and teach them all he knew to survive on the streets

lance, on the other hand, grew up rich and lived as a prince with only coran, the sultan and his father, hunk, his best friend and personal servant and azul, his personal tiger pet

he'd grown a reputation as a flirter, but despite all his flirting, it'd never meant anything to him but instead filled the hole in his heart waiting for his true love

he'd had many suitors, but he always knew they were always after his wealth and status rather than him himself

so, he escapes the palace one day, walking around and gets into a sticky situation, only for keith to spot him and save the day (along with a begrudging pidge) and escape

the two hit it off, lance sure this stranger was the one seeing as he knew not of his status, and keith had never felt such a connection to someone aside from pidge

from there, it essentially follows the movie plot with shiro as genie, lotor as jafar and keith's fake name as prince being akira

is this au just perfect or what????

Aladdin!AU: Katie as Aladdin (later becomes Princess Pidge), Lotor as Jasmine, Acxa is the tiger, Green is Abu, Sendak is Jafar, Haxus (Sendak's second in command) is Iago, Coran is Genie, Rover is carpet, Honerva is the Sultan. With Katie as Aladdin, that will make Colleen as Casim (Aladdin's dad), which means Colleen is the Queen of the Thieves :D

Lance kinda does remind me of Alladin in the aspect of immediately falling for a pretty girl, soon realizing she is more than her looks and how he gushes about her. Hmm

Wouldn't it be funny that Lotor pulls a Jafar and escapes the quintessence field/lamp like Alladin 2..... Was it in that movie? I don't remember too well.

A Whole New World (song parody)

So earlier I was thinking about how I wrote a parody of “Prince Ali” for Lotor (“Prince Lotor”, natch), as well as the dark reprise (you know, what’s originally Jafar’s version in the movie) after the events of S4, and then, since I’ve fallen into Keitor Hell™, my brain obviously made the leap from “Prince Ali” to “A Whole New World”. I mentioned the fact that my brain had made that leap on this website, and when I did, @kcgane​ sent me enabling vibes that were so strong they were in all caps, both on the post and through IM. And, well, when I’m being enabled that much, how can I possibly say no?

So this happened. I have no regrets.

Lance is still strong and independent and wants to choose who he marries instead of being forced into one 

Coran is SUPER overprotective so Lance sneaks out a lot

Disney Voltron Shallura

Hear me out : what about an Aladdin AU were Shiro is a gladiator for the Galra and one day he meets princess Allura who has run away because she didn't want to mary Lotor. So like in the movie Shiro is accused of kidnapping her and is throw in jail but Altea High druid Haggar realized that Shiro is the Key to the Black Lion that her real master Zarkon long for. Just like Jafar she fakes Shiro Death and coerces him to get the black lion in exchange of his half galran pupil Keith's security. In the cave he meets with Hunk a Balmeran and Lance a druid and they help him escape with the promise that Shiro will free them from Haggar curse. (Lance is tied to the lamp like the genie while Hunk would be like the carpet ? IDK I need to think more about that part.) So they escape Haggar watch and go straight to the castle and Lance pulls off a brand new identity for Shiro and decide while he is at it to help him score with Allura. Allura's handmaiden Pidge see right through it but tag along because ugh no way she nor the princess has to deal with Lotor until the ends of their life. But when Shiro received another menace on Keith life he mess up giving the opportunity to Haggar and Lotor to expose the conspiracy and take over Altea. Shiro get exiled but luckily found Keith and the red Lion and with this help get back the black lion and freed the rest of his friend and princess Allura reveals to them where are the other Lion and they form Voltron kick Haggar and Lotor ass ! You can add other side pairings like Klance, Hunk and Shay... I'll had more if I got other Ideas

Why Villains Rock

I was recently talking to another person about why villains could be so attractive/interesting to some of us and that led me to realize some interesting things.

I’ve loved villains since I was a tiny little girl. 

I was a ridiculously good kid. 

I saved bugs from boys who would torture them for fun, I helped everyone I could and wanted to be friends with everyone I met. 

And yet for some reason I adored the bad guys. Scar, Jafar, Lotor, Starscream. The heros usually did nothing for me.

Looking back I can finally explain it.

Take the average hero/heroine from kids’ entertainment:

good-looking

reacts rather than act proactively

average or lower than average intelligence

little to no ambition

no plans

designed to be relatable for the ‘average’, ‘normal’ person

Take the villains:

usually ugly (or very beautiful instead, but hardly ever bland)

proactive and motivated

often smart (or at least cunning)

ambitious

plan ahead and execute those plans

often quirky or gay coded

The second list can be used to describe me. I was like that for as long as I can remember. I was always weird, always proactive, always planning, always struggling to achieve what I wanted. 

And now that I think of it, I find it very disturbing that so many very good qualities are given almost exclusively to the badguys, the ones kids are not supposed to emulate because they use those qualities for malicious ends. Kids hardly ever get role-models that would teach them to take control of their lives and achieve their goals. The only examples of a protagonist with those qualities I can name off of the top of my head would be Tiana (2009), Judy Hopps (2016) and Danny (1997).

Tiana is amazing, she’s a hard-working woman with not just a dream and a wish upon a star, but an actual business plan. She wants to rise above her station, she wants to run a restaurant. And she’s “working hard each and every day” to get there. That’s what I’d like to show to my kids when I have them! There’s a princess I want them to emulate.

Judy is much in the same vein, only she wants to be a cop. Despite how tough the job is and how much the stereotypes are against her.

Danny may not be the brightest and his plan is also pretty basic (to be a star), but throughout the movie he never gives up even though Hollywood is rough on him. He’s also the only one of the three who was around when I was a kid. And little me always liked Danny despite the fact he was a main character (the fact he’s a cat probably helped XD).

All those characters strive to achieve their goals without direct outside pressure, just because they want to. I guess out of the lot of them Judy is closest to cunning and scheming (how ironic that she’s a rabbit). I thought of putting Mulan on the list, but her journey begins not out of her own desire for change, but only because her father’s life is in danger.

Kids entertainment at large gives children role-models who fumble through life with no plan and little to no agency until the villain comes and leaves them no choice but to react. It makes sense from a narrative point of view to have a hero who reacts to the villain’s schemes and not the other way around, but with the overwhelming majority of kids entertainment working this way I’m afraid we’re not encouraging kids (and the adults they grow into) to take control of their lives or have ambition. We tell them those things are bad, ugly weird people do those things (and by association being ugly and weird is also bad). It’s only ok to react, to act only in response to some very big event/danger, etc.

Thankfully I never much cared for what other people think (in contrast to what they do), so the fact all my favorite characters were baddies - and what others might think of that - never worried me. I felt perfectly comfortable finding inspiration in the villains’ drive, their schemes and the aesthetic. I made grand plans myself, and I made those plans a reality. I grew up poor, but I wanted financial security and went to get a degree that pays, now I’m middle-class. Disney cartoons made me want to search for that one true love, I went out and looked, and I’ve found it in my dear @luffik. She was in a different country though, so after six years of a painful long-distance relationship I realized another plan: I moved abroad - something I’ve worked for it since I was kid. And now I did it twice.

So take inspiration from the worst of villains if you have to, but don’t go with the flow if the flow is carrying you towards a waterfall. Make plans, think your options through, act smartly and don’t give up. Tenacity will get you anywhere.

P.S. Dexter from Dexter’s Lab is probably another good protagonist role-model by my criteria, but the show wasn’t available in my home country, so I’m not sure. Also I guess the segment of Tarzan growing up in the Disney cartoon kinda works, but it’s not central to the story.
