She had to defend her thesis in a couple of hours and Adelaide's nervousness was increasing by the minute. Did she prepare herself? Plenty. There was no possible question she had no answer to. Everything was printed out, saved as a presentation and pdf file ( and any other format you could think of ) - and still, Adelaide felt sick, her stomach was turning and she looked pale, despite the light make up she had put on. Would I be able to do it? the young woman thought to herself, barely touching her breakfast, a tiny sigh escaping her. She felt bad for worrying Jaehwan with her behavior, though her attempts at hiding turned out to be of a bigger concern than simply showing her anxiety. It seemed Jaehwan caught on quickly, thumbs gently gracing her cheeks. And then he told her she could do it, she had spent day and night working on this thesis, she was capable of proving everyone in that room she had what it takes, he believed in her abilities. He believed in her. So all Adelaide needed was a little bit ( and a lot ) of Jaehwan's encouragement, his love and support to remind her: You can do great things. And you will.

"I like it, a lot." He murmured against her lips, his fingertips brushing along the exposed skin of her thigh. There was a playful smile present for a brief moment at her shyness, which was something he'd been rather fond of. Jaehwan trailed his other hand up to her waist, carefully bringing her a little closer towards him as she was seated on his lap, his fingertips drawing random patterns against her lower back before his hand slowly moved upwards. His mind memorizing every inch, every curve. "Is this ok?" He questioned before tilting his head slightly, leaving a trail of short, sweet kisses below her lips, down her chin and her cheek, and finally leading to her neck. Sure, he could hardly keep his hands to himself, or his lips for that matter, but that didn't stop him from making sure she was ok with it.

Adelaide did not say that to sound smart. She and Jaehwan had a rather intriguing conversation and whenever the young woman talked about a topic she was passionate about, you could not stop her ( well, you could because she pauses as often as possible to let the other person speak ). "Hm, I agree. But think about what you just said. Not only would it be tiring, looking at it from another point of view... It reminds me of what someone told me before: If you have too many friends then the quality of all of your friendships will suffer. You won’t be able to supply the required love, care, and attention that are all necessary in order to create and sustain long-lasting good friendships," she shrugged, a small smile adorning her features. "So what I take from these wise words I've been told is, you can't be friends with everyone equally. And... oh, sorry. I didn't mean to get so philosophical. Sorry."

It's human. Jaehwan stared at his fiancée while she spoke, his expression not really giving that much away. However, the irony in that sentence made him let out an unintended chuckle. "Sure, it's a human thing to do." He muttered quietly under his breath while pulling her closer, arms wrapped around her securely, having her near being enough to ease his mind a little more. Everyone made mistakes at times, yes. Even he did. But his reaction hadn't been a mistake, at least he didn't really consider it one. Though he questioned his thoughts out loud. "But was it really a mistake?" They had been out shopping, something he could only stand to do with Adelaide since he wasn't that big on going to places where there were too many people around for his liking. But having her by his side always made things so much easier, whether she was aware of it or not. Yet his peace of mind didn't last too long when he overheard some random group nearby making inappropriate comments about her, which made his blood boil in just a matter of seconds. Hence why he had gone over there to teach them some manners, in less than a polite way. Jaehwan had no patience nor compassion for such people, especially not when the love of his life was involved. If Adelaide hadn't been there, tugging him away and talking some sense into him, none of them would have been left alive. "I would apologize for my behavior, but I can't. Because I'm not sorry, so it would be a lie if I said I was..." He spoke before leaving a kiss to her temple. "I won't ever allow anyone to be disrespectful towards you like that, Adelaide. I don't care who they might be."

One question after the other spilled from her and he was sure there were even more occupying her thoughts, questions she hadn't said aloud. Questions he was asking himself but didn't have an answer to, at least not yet anyway. Was there something wrong? No, not at all and he shook his head absently in response to her first question. But why was he holding her face? At some point during their conversation, Jaehwan had gotten distracted by staring at her, probably for longer than had been necessary. Which caused him to indulge in his sudden curiosity as he had reached out to gently hold her chin, his fingertips lightly brushing against her skin. "Sorry, I got really distracted by your beautiful face. Am I making you uncomfortable?" He questioned while he took notice of her flushed cheeks, his eyes scanning her features. However, he still hadn't let go of her. "You look cute when you're blushing, though."

"Isn't she the most beautiful?" Adelaide squealed. Of course, she had heard him, very much so but you had to expect her attention would fall on the adorable feline first before a heartfelt confession. "She's our daughter, yes. And my husband is the most wonderful, caring and loving man I know and I love him with all my heart and soul. He's my soulmate for a reason!"

"I love him so much... do I see dimples? His expression when he texts with Aiden is so cute, he looks like a little boy, ready to cause trouble. I wonder how he was like, as a young child? Baby Jaehwan must've been adorable. Ah- can I really have all these thoughts? It's not like they're naughty... I have those too but... he just makes me so happy. I just want Jaehwan to be happy. Sometimes he looks a little lost and I wonder what the reason behind this expression is. At one moment he looks like he is ready to tell me, unable to hold it back any longer, then his features soften and he focuses on nothing but me. I... am alright with everything, as long as he feels good. As long as I can do something for him. Oh- now he's putting on his shirt again... too bad."

"Jaehwan!" Adelaide giggled, "Why don't eggs tell jokes? ........ they'd crack each other up."

"Hmm?" Jaehwan blinked a few times, a smile already spread on his lips when he heard her giggle. Yet he couldn't help the heartfelt laughter that escaped him due to her little joke. "They'd crack each other up... that's so hilariously clever. I love it. Of course, I love you more!" He grinned cheekily.

The scent of blood had filled the room even before Jaehwan had laid eyes on her the moment she entered his apartment, which made him slightly more worried as to what had happened. "You... tripped?" He couldn't hide the worry in his tone as he made his way over to his girlfriend, looking over her to see where she had gotten hurt. Kneeling down, his gaze rested on her bloody knees for what seemed too long. "You need to be more careful, my love." Jaehwan let out a shaky breath while he used his sleeve to clean the blood off to see what the damage was, trying to be as careful as he could. "Does it hurt?" He looked up at her once he was more or less done, taking off his sweater and tossing it aside to keep the scent as far away from him as he could. "Let's get you patched up, shall we?" He mumbled while picking her up and carrying her over to the couch, gently placing her down before he went to get the first aid kit he obviously never used. While tending to her wounds, Jaehwan kept his gaze on her rather than on what he was doing, for his own sanity. "How did you trip to end up with these kind of wounds?"

Jaehwan didn't really understand why Adelaide seemed so anxious all of a sudden. He much less understood why she was even thinking that she did anything wrong in the first place. While he'd usually be somewhat annoyed by such things when he couldn't understand what the reason was or if he couldn't figure it out, he was more worried instead. Had he done something wrong that caused her to feel like this? Was it something he had said? "What? No, that's not.. Ade, you don't need to fix anything because you didn't do anything wrong." He let out a small sigh and pulled her into a hug, frowning slightly at the fact that she kept apologizing. Yet he still didn't know what she was even saying sorry for. "Why do you think you did anything wrong?" Jaehwan questioned, leaning back a little to be able to look at his girlfriend. "I'm truly sorry if I made it seem that way. I just don't... understand what's going on? Did I do something to make you feel this way? Please tell me if I did, so I can make it better." He stared at her with an almost pleading look. Obviously his mind went straight to it being something he did, not even considering the fact that it could easily be something entirely different.
