I feel like the jaegerbros’ relationship is misunderstood because of Zeke’s initial misunderstanding and projection of his feelings onto Eren. It’s assumed by Zeke and the fandom that they have an invaluable connection that Eren sees under the same pretenses as him since they’re kindred spirits. Eren, however, was just playing a role for Zeke to trust him and it’s highly possible that Eren hated Zeke because of the ideas he stuck by. He understood somewhat how he came to the conclusions he did, but they’re so innately different that even as regular brothers they’d more than likely clash yet the mutual care and love for each other would be more apparent and healthy/realistic as they’re able to nurture the love they have for each other in spite of their differences in more normal circumstances. (I have the same relationship with my sister.)

Yes, I do believe Eren cares for his brother somewhat (or barely or not at all but Eren is compassionate - yet prone to demonization so can’t be sure) as is in canon, but the hatred is possibly amplified and simultaneously nullified because of the fact that they’re family and so it’s hard to wrap his head around the fact that they’re related sometimes.

Yes, I also think Zeke genuinely cares for Eren despite his erroneous view of him that he’s always had his doubts on anyway, despite turning on him once it’s confirmed that he was deceiving him of his own volition because the answer is as simple as him being his little brother, especially after getting closure from their father.

Zeke is probably the kind of brother who brags about anything Eren does no matter if he hates it, like, he cant stop himself from telling anyone who can listen about how his little brother is the best.

I feel that any if the situation was calm and everything, all of the warriors and any member of the marleyan military would have seen Eren's baby photos, and heard a few retellings of how he believed in the stork story for way too long.

Not to mention Eren's friends, Jean probably takes advantage of Zeke's enthusiasm to get any embarrassing information about Eren and makes fun of him relentlessly until Eren went to his mom and found out how Jean botched his haircut once and refused to get out of the house for a week after it.

Snk 134 thoughts, pt 2: Eren and Zeke, Titan puppets

Second part, way less philosophical, about what we saw in the latest chapter.

The more the story goes on, the more I’m convinced Eren has no, or little, free will: he’s far from the freedom he chased and desired all his life, and again his new titan form:

As I said before, he doesn’t look onward, head down, body attached through thin strings to the bigger part, and it looks like Eren could fall down from the upper bones in every moment.

But he’s not only one far from freedom, and with a weird body, controlled by strings as a puppet with no will.

After many chapters, we meet Zeke again; or rather, his manipulated titan.

I was shocked when I saw the Beast Titan forming from one of the biggest bones: is this how the eight titans generated from the first Founding Titan?

And that’s when I noticed a detail, which could mean something: the number of high bones in the centre spine of Eren’s upper body.

I’m wondering if from each big bone Eren (or whoever - whatever is acting on his behalf) could create one of the main Titans; could he create the Warhammer? The Attack Titan? 

Does this mean  Zeke is completely lost and subjugated to Eren now? 

Did Eren eat Zeke?

Armin’s question is exactly what’s been in my mind for many chapters: Eren may look like a puppeteer, controlling and moving Zeke as a puppet, but is he actually free? What’s so free in the rumbling he’s doing now?

It really was a very nice and more than anything a thoughtful gesture of Zeke to give a ball and baseball glove to his brother, who’s missing a leg and an eye and basically doesn’t interact with anyone at all and who also doesn’t know what the fuck baseball is, so he can have something to entertain himself. I bet it was quite useful and he had a blast...
